I'm down 16 lbs total! - Even LOST a pound during Thanksgiving! And THAT'S saying A LOT! Since I ate without abandon... even had FOUR pieces of Pumpkin Pie! :o :D
So now to get thru the December holiday parties, etc.... let's go! WE CAN DO THIS!

Hello I just started today! I've done MF in the past, so here I go again! I have around 55-60 pounds to lose! :)I'm on my third MF meal today and so far so good! It's just the evening time that I'm worried about. Any advice would be great!

Hello -
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was especially nice:carrot:, I climbed on the scale on Thanksgiving morning and found that I had lost a total of 16 lbs since I started. I was so happy with my success that I ate very sparingly, I was afraid of undoing the result. So I am now exactly 200 lbs, if I keep up the losing streak I could be at my goal weight by July:D. Have a great week everyone.

just testing my ticker.
Hi everybody!!!
I'm back from Vegas! Poorer and fatter! Time to do something about the fatter part! I refuse to get on a scale! I was bad! REALLY BAD:devil:. i intended to get back on plan 2 days after Thanksgiving...but...My sister's dog ate most of the bars that I brought with me...that was all the excuse I needed to eat and drink everything in my path...They don't call it Sin City for nuthin!
So...I'm home...Tomorrow...I'm back on plan:carrot:...I'll wait till this weekend before I dare face down a scale!:o
Glad to hear everyone is doing so well! Weight loss during Thanksgiving! Incredible!!! Way to go!:cheer3::cheer3::cheer3:

Hi all,
I've found that while I'm at work I'm fine, but on the weekends, in front of the tv, uh-oh. the cravings are first and foremost. I didn't know I could crave so intensely.
But I found a neighbor with a dog. that means I can walk the dog! love walking with a dog.
Good job everyone. I am down 6 pounds, from 213 - 207, even after turkey day! can't wait until I am able to get my ticker - is it after 20 days and 20 posts?

Terri I find it hard in the evenings as well. I haven't had a weekend yet, but I know I want to do this and I have to stick with it. 6 pounds is great by the way!
DJ I love Vegas! Glad you had a good time even if the dog ate your MF! Hahaa!
This was day two and so far just a slight headache last night. It's weird how I'm not even thinking about food. I need to increase my water intake though.
How much water do you drink each day??
Hi Beachy! Yes Vegas was a Blast...I don't regret one cent or one pound...I'll get them off again. You should definatly go back if you haven't been since '87...The newer Hotels are AMAZING!
Hi Terri-Evenings and weekends can be a challenge. You have the right idea! It helps to stay busy.
Hi Jen-I make sure I get at least 64 oz. of water per day. (except in Vegas. Water is replaced by tequila ) I usually have a glass of water at my side all day long. I think drinking plenty of water helps ease the initial detox also.
I did well getting back on plan today. I thought I might be hungry today after all that eating last week...but I did just fine. Even started back on the 30 Day Shred. I decided to start over at level 1. It amazes me at how much easier it is now after having gone through all the levels. I remember the first time I did it ...I thought I would never be able to do the whole thing without a break. Great healthy things are happening!
Missy? How's it going with you?

:)Hi Jen,
I think I waited all week & weighed myself on day 7.
I do remember though, that on day 4 I could tell my stomach was much less bloated. Glad to hear you are doing well OP.
Susan
Hi Susan! Wow! You are really cruising along on the weight loss!
Hi Jen! 30 Day Shred is a workout dvd by Jillian Michaels from The Biggest Looser.
So far so good...2 days back on track. I don't have a choice. I couldn't help myself...I took a look at the scale yesterday. Up 8 lbs! Yikes! Well 2.6 lbs came off today...and hopefully there is still some more water weight that will be melting away...but I certainly have my work cut out for me! Wish me luck!
Justsecretgirl

Thanks DJ I was wondering about that. I love Jillian, maybe I need to check that out.
Susan thanks for the input. I'm going to try not to step on the scale tomorrow.
As of today I was in Ketosis when I POAS.
Watching Biggest loser last night was sad, but we all knew that was going to happen. Vicki it so hateful, and I hope she doesn't win. I didn't think the makeovers were as good as some of the other shows. I can't wait to see who will win!
Hope everyone has a great evening!

:)Good Morning Friends,
Hope everybody is well this morning.
Djay- Im feeling like Im back full swing in the MF lifestyle, thank goodness..... I did not follow 100% the 2 weeks I was taking care of my grandmother, I didn't gain during that time but I didn't lose either and losing is what keeps me & most of us motivated. Glad to hear you enjoyed your Vegas trip, I've never been there but would love to go.
My cruise will be here in in just over 2 months and I know it will be very hard to stay focused with all those tropical froofie drinks onboard.:dizzy:
Did your sisters dog get sick from eating your MF bars?
Jen-Be sure to drink at least 64oz of water each day. The water does do wonders in helping us to lose weight & the added bonus of what it does for our skin is great. Keep up the good work.
Missy- I found these great charms of Disney characters, I will post a link later for you to see. How are the boys?

Hello evreyone,
Reading your posts every morning always put me in such a good mood, you all sound so up and encouraging
DJ - that was really funny, the dog ate your MF bars:D I laughed so hard my office mate had to come over to find out what was so funny. But what a great excuse to get off you diet eh:lol3: I am glad you had a great time in Vegas, I love Vegas too.
Terri - cheerio to you, 6 lbs off!:cheer2: that is great. I think you get your signature/ticker after 20 days, I got mine and I my posts are less than 20.
I get bad cravings on weekends too, I have these cookies that I bought from wonderslim that I eat only on weekends and they do help a lot. If really have to eat something else, I always try to stick with meat and veggies avoiding carbs.
Hope you all have a good day.
Cheers!!
Hi All!
Ella-Glad you came out of lurkdom to join us! Things are mighty quiet around here lately! We can always use another buddy. All the more encouragemnt during this difficult time of year.
2009-Way to rock the program! You have done great on your own...Glad to have some experience out ther when we have questions. Do you stick to the basic foods...or are you one of those fancy cooking folks?
Susan-I got exciting news today! My veneers came in and the dentist moved my appointment up to tomorrow! I will have a perfect smile tomorrow! I'm so excited! This was supposed to be my 70 lb. reward and with my Vegas setback I'm not quite there...so I'm going to have to really work to earn them.
Secretgirl-I don't think there is much danger of Icky winning the Biggest Looser. I can't imagine that any show would edit their winner in such a bad light. I think she is the most hated contestant EVER. I agree that the makovers were not the best...but most of the ones that were turning out to be really cute have been eliminated. And how about that for revenge for Ickey...turns out she is equally unattractive at any weight!...Ooops...did I really say something that mean?:o

And now for the bad news.....
ACK! I have enough food to get me thru next week, & then I'm OUT. :( And since my husband is out of work right now, I won't be getting any more of the food....it's just too expensive & without his income, I can't afford it.
But I don't want to just "QUIT".... so I've decided I'm going to TRY to continue the diet using Slim Fast & South Beach products. Do you think it will work? :^:

Beachy Save a few of the empty boxes & cut the nutrition info off of them, take them to the store with you to look for other items that might be closest to the MF items you want to replace.
You might want to check the health food stores for soups & oatmeal.

Beachy - I am sure that slim fast will work for you, it did for a friend of mine, she did replace the fruits with salads and other raw veggies.
Jen - I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised tomorrow, I was at my first weight in, the most I have ever lost at a time.
Have a great weekend everyone!!

Awww Beachy:hug:...I hope you will still come here and post...We are still here to support you...I am sure you can find a good sustitute and keep loosing. When it is what you really want...you find a way...I have faith...you will find a way!
Susan- I got them! Love them! Better than I ever thought! It took about 3 hours for the Dentist to put them in...I LOVE my dentist! he and his whole staff are so supportive and excited for me! Hugs and cheers from everyone when it was finally done. They had showed me pictures of what my teeth would look like after...and thy were beautiful! But I never got my hopes up that they would really look as perfect as the pictures...Well they do! Perfect, straight, perportional and white! I could not be happier. I went to my daughters work right after...She noticed right away. How could she not...I couldn't stop smiling!
OK...so here is why I LOVE MEDIFAST!
I was feeling so guilty...The veneers were supposed to be for my 70 lb loss. Tuesday morning I weighed in at 188.8! Ugh! All that food, alcohol and salt...Of course I knew alot of it was water weight...but Ugh! That was 10 lbs OVER the 70 lb mark! Well....This morning....after staying POP since Tuesday...and excersising every day...and drinking all my water..................................
TADA.............................................. ........
179.8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
Just a pound away! I don't feel so guilty now! I can hardly believe it! I had hit a slowdown before I left for Vegas. It seemed like I was in the 180's forever...Hard to believe that I lost all the Vegas weight...AND broke out of the 180's before the week is out!
Did I mention, I LOVE MEDIFAST!

At one point I was going to be short MF for a few weeks. This is what Nutrition Support advised me to do:
the best suggestion would be to stick to the lean and green meal parameters and try to keep your calories, carbohydrates and protein as similiar to the Medifast 5 and 1 meal plan as possible (800-1000 calories; 80 to less than 100 grams carbohydrate; >72 grams of protein).
This may mean having approximately 12-15 ounces of lean protein in a day (consider having 3 meals with 4 ounces each and two "in-between" meals of 1-2 ounces each). Given your circumstance it seems reasonable to allow 9-12 servings of vegetables from the recommended vegetable choices. These very loose guidelines may need to be adjusted to stay within the nutritional parameters listed above
I hope this helps! It did work for me and I continued to lose!!!:carrot:

One more thing, a friend could no longer afford MF, so she devised a plan:
1 serving of Wal-mart oatmeal
2 EAS Shakes (AdvantEdge carb control)
2 South Beach Bars
1 L&G...Take a vitamin supplement
Either one of the programs I listed here will work...
Good Luck!!!!:D

Does anyone use Boca or Morningstar Farms for their L&G? I use them quite often and although I stay below 100 grams of carbs, I think they may be slowing down my weight loss. I got "spoiled" just popping them into the microwave and having my dinner ready in 3 minutes! Lazy!!!

THAT is a really good idea! - thanks 2bthin! -
and thanks to everyone else offering ideas & support. I do still plan to come here - I don't know for certain it will help, but it certainly can't hurt, right? ;)
I'm down "one more pound" as of today (Sat. but Mon is my regular weigh-in day). And I'm kinda doing a HALF-Sees program right now.... trying to keep as much food as possible... for instance, this morning for breakfast I had "Quaker Weight Control" package of oatmeal instead of MF. Then had a MF bar for lunch, then soup for afternoon.... so I'll have a lean & green this evening & nothing for after dinner snack. I'm still keeping up with my calories & carb counts, & so far, so good. I just hope I can keep it up! -
BUT I REALLY APPRECIATE the extra ideas from you guys! - keep'm coming! I'm determined to AT LEAST not gain back the 17 pounds I've lost!! :^:

ok...On Tuesday morning after a week off plan....I mean WAY off plan. I weighed in at 188.8. That was up 8.4 lbs! A lot of water weight I know because of all the fried, salty foods and alcohol...but a scary number anyway after all the hard work to loose those pounds. I was sure I had really set myself back for weeks! I have been POP ever since and excersised every day and been religious about my water consumption.
Todays weigh in was 178.2!!!:carrot:That is 10.4 lbs in less that a week! OMG! Medifast has my metabolism working for me again! This is crazy! I have never lost this much weight in one week...I probably will never do it again...but...OMG 10.4 lbs! I am in shock!

Yes, Jacque, I think you are so right. I do like the taste and the convenience but I do think that they are hindering my weight loss. I do stay within the calorie and carb range but I seem to lose better when I eat more fish. In fact, I will be making fish today and maybe limit the vegetarian food to maybe once per week. They also have a lot of sodium!:(

Wow Dj that's awesome, 10lbs less than a week!!!!:bravo::bravo: I cannot wait to start <Medifast. Im hoping I get my shipment sometime this week. I ordered it on sat night, so hopefully it arrives soon.
I would love to hear how much everyone has lost and the amount of time it took to loose. Also how much you lost in the first month (if you can remember) I need to loose 100lbs and I am bound and determined to do so!!!! Ive been stuck in the 200's the past 13yrs and im just sick of it. Im 32 yrs old and its time to take care of myself. I have a 2 and 4 yr old that I really want to be more active with. Also a husband I wanna be more active with lol:o and thelist can defintely go on and on. To step on the scale and see 100 instead of 200 omg!!! how exciting that would be. Congrats to all that have lost thats soooo awesome!!!! HAGD everyone
Monica
Ah well all good things must come to an end...I guess I have lost all of my nwater weight because the scale didn't move today...I was getting pretty excited watching it tick down 1.5-3 lbs. per day...guess that cant go on forever!
Monica-I was on a diet that was similar in calorie and carbs to Medifast prior to starting so my first month's results were not as impresive as some. I had alost about 20 lbs. the first month on the other program if I remember correctly. I am excited for you to start seeing the results that you are looking for!
Jacque-I don't understand. Medifast is soy based...How could it hinder your weight loss?
jakebabe
12-08-2008, 11:27 PM
djay - I am on WonderSlim, not Medifast. WonderSlim is a whey based product. I tried supplementing it during the day at work with the EAS Carb Advantage product (for easier travel purposes) and my weight loss slowed down tremendously. Almost came to a screaching halt.
I have incorporated soy into my eating plan before and thought I was doing a good thing even though the taste has never appealed to me (there is just something about it that tastes "funny" to me) now I know why. Also I did some googling on soy intolerance and it is common among alot of people. That was very interesting to me
I am very happy for those of you who have found wonderful success with soy products - thank goodness there are other choices for those of us who can not handle it.

Djay - wow, over 10 lbs in less than one week, that is fantastic! Don't be too disappointed that your losing streak has slowed, I am sure that you don't see in lbs off you will see in inches off:D
Jacque - I am so with you, thanks goodness there are alternative for those of us who cannot handle MF, my system went bonkers with MF. I am so thankful for wonderslim.
Now on a "smile" note - my youngest daughter told me last night that she is in a bit of a sticky wicket because she cannot make up her mind whether she likes me being on a weight loss program. She is happy that it will make me healthier but she does not like it because I will not be soft a cuddly anymore, she said that it already feels different when I give her a hug. I did not laugh because I know it was a real concern for her but I did laugh when I got upstairs to my bedroom. Children and what concerns them, must be great to be so unfettered by worldly concerns except for those things that encroach on comfort.
Monica - I lost about 16 lbs in my first month but I am using an MF alternative (wonderslim) which works in a similar fashion. Welcome and congrats in deciding to make a change.
Have a great day everyone!

Hey everyone, quick check in here... I have been so busy, (Havent we all?) anyways, I have been off program, but doing extremly well... I started jogging around the track! Every M/W/F/S! And this one is totally so bizarre... Ive gotten the other preschool moms to join me and organized an exersise thing! ME! I havent run since I was in grade school! All the sudden I got a hair up my *** and decieded to go and run and look what happened! Because I have been jogging (really, its one step below speed walking, very minimal jog...) Ive been adding some much missed items back into my diet... Grapefruit (oh, grapefruit!) Apples (oh, apples!) Nuts (oh, nuts!) and popcorn (popcorn, who could not love you) Im holding still at 185. Have been here for all eterninty! but my body is looking greater, my calves are rock'n! Im gonna get back OP after christmas but just to use up all my stuff. This new appriciation of excersise has inspired me. I have been eating better, making better choices. Yay!
Also, my collar bones have come out to say hi! I dont remember EVER seeing my collar bones!
You guys are doing fantastic! I love seeing your progress! What wonderful sucess stories!
I LOVE the whole... not as smushy, cuddly thing.... Ella Dee! That is so cute! Way to go!

I swear, it seems like the tiniest bit of carbs in my diet makes my weight go up. Makes me wanna hurl. (not literally!) :(
Wow Jacque! 35 lbs. is super fantastic!:carrot::carrot::carrot: Keep up the great work...You will be at goal in no time!
Aww Beachy-Don't let a small fluctuation on the scale get you down. Could just be water or TOM...but if it is Holiday goodies...You at least know the formula for getting those pounds back off...Jump right back on your plan and build more days POP than not!...Lots of water and some excersise for good measure! I know you can do this:carrot:
Any news from that second interview? Sending lots of good vibes your way:goodvibes:
Here is my good news of the day...I won the 3fc blue team Biggest Looser! :D
It was a fun 13 week challenge and really kept my motivation high! I still highly reccomend it especially if you are struggeling. The participation is not difficult...Just one post in chat per week is all that is required...But I think it is best to get totally involved if you are going to do it.
Hope you all will send some good vibes my way...We have an office Christmas Party today complete with totally off plan food. Then on Friday, I have to bake something to bring in for another Holiday spread. Saturday...Going to dinner and a concert with friends. Of course the resturaunt they chose will pay you if you can eat their giant hamburger in one sitting. Doesn't sound like the healthiest choices will be offered there...And I have several choice bottles of wine to open for guests that are stopping by this weekend. Yikes! This week is full of landmines!

YAY! - musta just been water weight or whatever! - I'm down THREE lbs today... which is one more lost pound...
I swear... I'm stretching out what little MF foods I have left! - not an easy task! - and I'm still not sure what I will do when it's all gone. :?:
I've been studying up on gluten-free diets, & what gluten in foods can do to a person who has an aversion to it. VERY interesting. So when I'm all out of MF foods, I may go the gluten-free route, & do some self testing..... just to see how I feel. :D

djay - that is great news! Congrats on winning the contest! :cheer2:
I am sending lots of good vibes your way for the food challenges you have coming up. You can do this! You have come too far to turn back now - just remember to plan ahead and you will be fine.
beachy - so glad the pounds went away. You are doing so good with the obstacles you have. You are my hero! I will echo what djay asked - any news on the interview?
Have a great day all!

djay & jakebabe -
nope, no news on the 2nd interview yet. He's supposed to get scheduled FOR a 2nd interview. But since the job doesn't actually start until January, they may be waiting out the holidays, ya know? Meanwhile, we're sitting here like birds in the wilderness.... waiting, waiting, waiting... Argh! :^:
OH! & djay! - I forgot to say CONGRATS on your win! - You go girl!!! :cheer2:

Beachy - I would say the odds are in your favor. If you get the 2nd interview, it is always a more positive sign. I am praying that 2009 will be off to a good start for you and your family. :carrot:
Sure is quiet around here - everyone must be busy with the holiday preparations.

Hi Everybody, Djay, Beachy, Jacque,
How is everybody doing? I just placed an order with MF for lots of food. I have been playing around this last week & have gained 5 pounds, HOLYCRAP!
I hadn't had a great variety in the house and it made it too easy for me to have just a little of this & that off plan:devil:, put that together with holiday get togethers and I am up 5. I figure if I spend the money for the new shipment I better make good use of it. I just finished a bowl of beef stew & I have to be honest I could eat 2 more bowls of it.:o
We have had 2 storms in the last week here in NY and have another coming tomorrow. We got about a foot of snow yesterday. Sure wish I was somewhere warm like Beachy & Djay.
Jacque, You had asked about my Grandmother, she is doing much better. Thanks for asking.
Happy Holidays to all.

Good Morning Everyone,:)
This morning I'm happy to report that 4 of my 5 added pounds are gone. I will be playing this game till New Years when I go back OP 100%.
This is the hardest time of the year, but at least I'm aware of what needs to be done.
Where the heck is everybody? Are you all over at he MF site?:?:
Hope everybody has a great day. The dog's and I are off to the Nursing Home today to spread some good cheer.
Hi Susan,
Good for you for jumping rght back on plan...You CAN do this. It is so hard to steer clear of holiday goodies this time of year! I know I have fallen victim to more than my fair share of cookies...but I keep going right back on plan so I am still loosing...although at a much slower pace.
I do plan to eat off plan on Christmas eve and Christmas day...but then it will be full steam ahead and I will be op till I reach my goal!
I know what you are saying about the beef stew not satisfying you. Every time I go off plan, it is like starting over and I have to get through those first couple of uncomfortable days before the meals start to satisfy me again.
Hang in there Susan! Christmas is almost over! We can get through this together!

Good morning everyone!
Susan, so good to hear that your grandmother is doing well. Also great news on getting the pounds back off - keep heading in that direction.
djay & Susan - I am taking the opposite route than you on Christmas and the food. I have been 100% OP since I started Oct 14 and will continue to do so. It is not worth the temporary gain to me for a few bites of the "poison" that got me in this mess to begin with. I have reconciled myself to the fact that I will never be able to eat "normal" again. My body just can not handle it. I wish I would have learned this lesson many years and diets ago but I guess better late than never! I have 2 more pounds to go to the 40 pound loss mark and I intend to get that for myself for Christmas!
Everyone have a great day and finish that shopping if you still need to! :stress:
Jacque
YAY Jacque!:carrot::carrot::carrot: I am so proud of you standing strong in the face of holiday goodies! You are doing fantastic! Congratulations!
But I'm still going to have Pie and egg nog for Christmas!

Hi Susan! - My husband's family lives in New York (upstate; near Rochester) & we haven't heard much from them lately... I bet they're having a buttload of snow, tho! - they always do! - plus, they live on a lake & get that "lake effect" snow.
If it makes ya feel any better, it only got up to 44 degrees here yesterday! - but a little warmer today... in the upper 50's! - of course, we're due to be in the low 70's for the next three days.... 73 for xmas... doesn't feel very christmasy, that I can tell you!
And I'm so glad your grandmother is doing better! YAY!
Anyway - just wanted to pop in & say HI to everyone! - hope you're all done w/your xmas shopping & so forth! WOW! I can hardly believe that 2008 is almost done!!!! :dizzy:

Hi all! Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday and remind you to keep the food in check if you choose to eat.
I read an article the other day that said if you go off whatever program you are on for one meal - you will not gain, that one meal will not cause you to gain weight. I strongly disagree (at least for me and my body)! I ate 1/2 c. of squash the other night at a restaurant and apparently it had what I detected as some bread crumbs in it. There could not have been more than a scant amount but I am up 1/2 pound from it! Really hacks me off!
My gift to myself is to come out on the other side of Christmas with a 2 pound loss so I will have lost 40 pounds since Oct. 14.
Have a great holiday and I look forward to your "victory" stories! :carrot:

Hey all! Hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas day. I just wanted to share my thoughts on life as it is and what I find as sad.
OK so Christmas and all the surrounding food went well for me. I have been OP since I started this journey October 14. I even lost 3 pounds over the Thanskgiving holiday so I knew Christmas would be no problem. Plus I am 2 pounds from 40 pounds lost so I want to give myself that present.
I saw people today that I have not seen since I started to lose weight and they did not even mention that I looked like I had lost weight. I wear my clothes loose so I am sure that did not help but my face is noticibley thinner too. I really thought someone would say something! The people at work have not noticed either but I cut them some slack because they see me everyday so sometimes it is harder to see a difference. Bottom line and the reason I find this sad is I know I need to lose at least 100 pounds and even at the almost half way mark no one can tell a difference in my size/appearance - that is just sad to me! I must appear alot bigger to the rest of the world than I think I am.
I am not beating myself up just reflecting on the cold hard truth.
I will continue onward and upward as I have to do this for my health and well being. I find this plan so easy to live with but sometimes external messages from others gives you pause to refelct on life as it really is!
Christmas is behind us now so keep putting on foot in front of the other and remember each shake is bringing us closer to a new and improved us! :D

Where is everyone? Am I still the only one on program???;)
I lost 3 pounds over the Christmas holiday so I am very happy with myself. I hit the 40 pound loss mark I was hoping for so that was my present! My clothes are really baggy but I don't want to buy new if I can help it as I figure I will go down more in size and then what do I do with these in between size clothes?
2009 is right up on us - let's get busy with the program!
Jacque
I'm taking the plunge! I will be joining you all once my order of medifast arrives.
I look forward to getting to know you in the January chat.

Hi Jen! Welcome to the forum!
Congrats on your decision - you will not regret it. We are here to help, just let us know what you need!
Jacque
Hey all you MFers! Where is everybody?
I know I have been MIA for a bit...so here is the latest...I went WAYYYYYY off plan over Christmas. I'm not talking an extra serving of mashed potatoes here. It started with the Cosmopolitans and just 1 sugar cookie. Before I knew it it was 3 days later and I was half way through a tub of Chocolate chip cookie dough and trying to cram one more bite into my severly swollen belly!
The damage was 7.4 lbs. for Christmas. But...as of this morning...I am back down to my pre-binge weight plus an extra .4 lbs went with it! Gotta love Medifast. So I am claiming no harm no foul and plunging straight on into the New Year with renewed focus on my goal. I have signed up for 2 challenges to keep me on track.
Have a Safe and Happy New Year! See you all back here refreshed and ready to loose in the shiney New Year! WooHoo!!! 2009 is my year to hit my goal! Bring it on!

I admit to having some "cookie dough" too, djay!
And pasta... WITH bread sticks....
Yes, I've been pretty much off plan since Dec 19. I'm almost completely out of MF foods, but still trying to eat "little meals" every couple hours. I'm not TOO bad in the + category... I've gained 2 lbs, & that's not a lot, so I'm not TOO worried. I do think I'll do better once I start back to work & the "routine" kicks in. But I do have some fear, which is natural I guess, about gaining ALL the weight back PLUS more, since I can no longer afford MF.
My husband still isn't working, but we're trying to keep our chins up, because NOBODY is hiring during "the holiday season".... which will be OVER come Friday. :D
So ... here's hoping!

Hey! Glad to see some life back here!
djay - glad you made it through the holidays and were able to get the "damage" repaired rather quickly. You are lucky that you have such good metabolism - if I did that it would be a month before I got back to where I was.
beachy - sorry no word on work for your hubby yet. It will happen soon I bet. Like you said the holidays gum up the hiring process - next week things will get back to normal. You are doing really well on maintaining your weight loss - hang in there - 2009 will be better!
Hope everyone has a good New Years Eve - I will be home safe from the drunks and excessive food! :hat:
Jacque
Happy 2009!
I just don't think 2008 will be missed by many... Isn't that right Beachy? A new year is such a refreshing start in so many ways. I hope it refreshes the economy a little and your DH finds work...boy...they really hit him at a hard time for job hunting! Seems like everyone is going to take a knock before this is over. We had to take a 5% pay cut, give up our yearly raises and 401k matching so that my company didn't have to lay anyone off. I wish more companies would do that. It isn't great to have your salary cut...but at least everyone still keeps some income and benefits. I'm just sure that the hubs will find something soon. AND Congrats! Only a 2 lb gain over the holidays is fantastic! You are doing so well with the hand that was dealt!
Jacque-Congrats for staying OP over the holidays! You deserve every pound that is rapidly dropping from your shrinking frame. I bet you are swimming in your clothes about now! Ann Taylor is having a great sale!;)
I wish I could attribute my recent rapid weight loss to a good metabolism...The truth is... the gain was mostly water...the sodium just bloats me so bad! So once I get back OP and rince that sodium out of my system...the water goes also and I get a truer weight. I have been tracking my calories on my OP days...I have not consumed enough to add true pounds...Just Not little enough to get a good downward trend reestablished.
But
It's 2009! And I'm back with a vengence! No stops between today and my goal!...(oh...except my birthday in February)
OK...I know I have already written a novel...but...I have OT news. You may remember that I am expecting my second grandchild in June...well...I just found out it is a boy! I'm excited about that since I have always had girls...but then I found out that my youngest daughter is also expecting a baby in August. Not so happy about that...She is only 21...but what can a mom do...Just offer love.
So that is my 2009 beginning. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
