I POSTED ON THE WRONG THREAD BUT I SAW IT ON TIME AND BROUGHT IT OVER HERE. Good Morning Ladies Can't believe is Dec 1st.already.Not prepared to bring us in to next year the following year. Nothing new,but Leo's chemo port broke and now we are waiting for the doctor to call to let us know whats the story,if he has to have it removed and replaced. That mean another operation and some more recovery time. That leaves our Christmas plans hanging for a while. Some how we feel like a tidal wave is heading our way and we can't get out of it way. DONNA-Sorry:sorry: that your TG turned out that way, glad it calmed down a little.Hope every thing works out the the oncologist.DH should be careful not to do too much when at work, but I gather you told him that. Thanks we had a happy & quite one eating & watching football. PAULA-We had frost:brr: and than it haled for a while. I guess you living further out on the Cape made a difference.Glad that you enjoyed you date night. You're doing wonderful still having your 30 WPA's left I used mine up I was lucky my new week started on Friday. TRISH-Leo was fine up to this point, with the broke port we have to ask the doctor what to do next. Thank Goodness  he now in remission and no chemo is scheduled for him. His next cat scan will be in Jan. Happy to hear that he in remission also. You look like you doing good on the core. I like the plan also but my problem is portions. Its working a little now that I'm using a smaller plate and a 3 section one also. SANDRA-Happy to hear that you'll not be a stranger. Remember  we are all in this together,as together we stand divided we fall. RHONDA-Sorry:sorry: about your tummy ache, but I think we all did the same, with the exception of Paula .I think we should make her :queen: QUEEN FOR THE DAY:queen: __________________ Hugs Maryann Vickie 12-01-2008, 11:42 AM That's horrible, Mary Ann. I'll pray that it can be fixed without surgery. sloanie 12-01-2008, 02:11 PM Hey chickies! It's so good to get back to read about all of you. Sounds like TG was interesting to say the least! I, like many of you, ate too much. I was surprised and happy to weigh this morning and find that I did not have a gain. I'm sure exercising is helping me. As many of you know, exercise has not been my strong suit, but for the past two to three weeks I have been walking 30 minutes in the morning before school. I had a quiet TG with family and did a lot of knitting. I've been making hats for birthday and Christmas gifts. The budget really took a hit with DH being out for his shoulder surgery, so hand made gifts are going to be "my thing" this year. Speaking of DH, he has been back to work a few days now, and he is doing pretty well. His shoulder still gets sore, but he knows it will take time. Since it's been several days since I've been on here, I'm just going to say  to everyone until I have had time to catch up on all of the posts. pattygirl63 12-01-2008, 05:43 PM A quick flyby for now just to say hello. Can't believe it's December already. We're busy decorating today. I think I've got DH sold on a smaller tree next year. He said this huge tree is just too much for us to do any more. Trying to get finished with it to day. Although I got started on Core a few days ago, I want to make Monday my WI day so weighed this morning and I've lost 1/2 lb so far. Y'all have a great day and stay warm. It is really cold here and I see many of you have it worse than I. Catch ya later. blessedwithsarah 12-02-2008, 09:02 AM Happy Tuesday everyone! Busy day for me - need to go to the RMV to have my liscence renewed, then salvation army, jewlery store to drop off repairs, then grocery shopping. I'm also stopping at a local soup/snadwich shop for some home made soup -- I have a coupon for buy one quart get one free. They have the best soup and its very healthy. At some point today I need to get over to my mom's as well -- maybe after the bus drops off dd. got to run, bbl beach bum 12-02-2008, 09:49 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Going with Leo to the doctors this morning and than have a couple of things to do this afternoon.Than I be a free woman until Thursday when the errands will start up again. VICKIE-Thanks :thanks: for your prayers, I'm hoping :crossed:that an operation won't be necessary. SLOANE-:carrot::carrot:That a great feeling that you didn't gain. Wish I could say that, had a small gain of 2 lbs but now it down and hope by Friday it should be down more..Sorry:sorry: to hear about the budget cuts that effected your DH. Hope things brighten:sunny: up for the both of you. TRISH-Congrats :carrot: on your first weight loss being on the core..Half pound is good I sure you do great new week.I was thinking about changing my W-I day now that I don't go to the meetings anymore. We have two trees:trees: one table top and the other a little bigger floor model. PAULA- Hi hope you get all that you plan done.I made butternut squash & apple soup :stir: last night from the WW complete companion book.Burn my hand by filling the blender container to the brim, hit puree and the top of the blender fell off,but I still had enough soup to eat & it was tasty. See you gals later Tejas 12-02-2008, 06:31 PM Hi All: Maryann, I hope that there's no more surgery. But, I'm sure you're both thankful that so much can be done these days. I laughed about the blender, sorry; but I've done it myself. Wow, Sloan, no gain! Good for you. I gained two but that was Sunday's dinner I think ;) I don't have much to say tonight: two busy days. Must start :exercise: again, NOW. Rhonda ontarget 12-02-2008, 11:43 PM Maryann, that's awful about Leo's port. I hope he doesn't have to have surgery. Well, I intended to get on here yesterday but didn't make it. Today I started laying the groundwork (literally--60 bags of 40 # topsoil, 10 bags of Miracle Grow soil, and 6 bags of landscape mix) for the "big" flowerbed. Tomorrow I may go look for some perennials to plant. I did plant a honeysuckle and my "stick" tree. I will make some photos when it's more developed. I think it's going to be cute. (I have an old red wagon in it that I'm going to use as a planter.) Welcome back, Sloan. Sounds like you're still doing well. Makes me smile. pattygirl63 12-03-2008, 01:10 AM Just drop in real quick to say  hi and I'm still here. Just had a busy day, but a Core day. I'll do indys and catch up tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a good day. Too tired to even read. Tejas 12-03-2008, 10:52 AM Good Morning: I lost one of the two pounds I put on over TG, but I'll leave my challenge post as it is since it reflects my true progress. I eased back into :exercise: last night by doing a lot of stretches and floor exercises. I have some kind of problem on the sole of my right foot. I'm wondering if it is a plantar's wart because I can't see anything but can feel it when I walk. It's painful and is affecting my desire to walk and do aerobics. Must have it looked at. We're moving into the party mode at work so I've got lots of temptations ahead. I've done well with no alcohol. I had some wine at TG but that's all. I keep thinking if Sammi can do it, I can...she has lots of temptations with her friends, I'm sure. So, I'm not having any wine at home and will have only one glass at any reception I go to in the next few weeks. Let me tell you about an egg casserole I make for breakfast often: 5 eggs cottage cheese (1/2 to one cup) 1 can of green chilis 1 T of flour ground flax seed Bake for 1/2 hour or so in 350F oven....delicious and almost Core. I hope everyone has a great OP day. Rhonda TechAlum 12-03-2008, 01:54 PM Hello All, Well TOM has come and I have fallen off the wagon and am getting dragged behind. I know what I need to do I just need to do it!!!!! I skipped ww yesterday, but I may go Fri to make up. Next week they roll out the new program, so I don't want to miss that. DH's apt went ok on Monday, he get's to do 5 mos of Chemo () He gets the port in a week from Monday (12/15) then has his first treatment that Wed. So I get to spend 3-4 hrs at the hospital on Mon and 3-4 at the Oncology clinic on Wed :woohoo: At least I should get a lot of knitting done. Hope my new book on tape from the library comes in so I can download it to my MP3. Rhonda - Congrats on the no wine. Sorry you ate too much for your x-pat party. Sandra - I'll bet your yard is beautiful. I can't believe how much you've been doing, want to come up here when you're done???? My yard could use a lot of help. Sammi - Glad you had a good trip. Sloan - Lots of knitting going on here to. Mainly to keep my hands out of the wine fridge and chip bag. Maryanne - Sorry to here about Leo. Hope everything goes ok. Pattygirl, Paula & Vicki - Time to go grab lunch. Have a great day everyone. -Tech beach bum 12-03-2008, 03:07 PM Hi Ladies:) Had a very busy morning, that I couldn't post until now.Leo is Ok the doctor told us its nothing serious so I so happy for that. He had to go to get the port flushed and its working OK. RHONDA-We are so blessed that the cancer is gone, and the port is still working fine. Next time I use the blender I won't fill it that high.Big congrats:carrot: on your 2-lb loss from TG I wish I could say the same thing, but I have3 more day before W-I.I hope you don't have a planters warts I had them when I was in my 20's and they're not good to have.I had to have my burned off by radiation. SANDRA-We thought the port was broken and thats caused a panic,TG it was a faults alarm and everything is working OK.Have fun planting PATTYGIRLHi:wave: and you have a good core day also. DONNA-So happy to hear you DH is doing so well, with the port being installed. You must tell us what the new program is all about. Its going to be interesting to see what WW has planned for us to loss weight. Have to get ready for choir rehearsal Cubalibre7 12-03-2008, 03:10 PM Hi ladies. Well, I'm back. I've been lurking and it's great to see this board lively. I made it though TG really well...the problem was the next day, I was so proud of myself that I haven't STOPPED eating. It's cold here and all I want to do is eat carbs! I have to figure out how to get my veggies & fruit in that isn't served cold....which served me so well in the Summer. It like starting the Core program fresh since all my "go-to" options in the summer just don't work now. I am motivated to make some new soups though. I've gotten tired of my Split Pea, Pumpkin Soup & Fabada (Cuban Soup). Having soup really helps keep me on target. Work has been very stressful since it's the end of the year, and my Husband has been hunting...so it's really hard to find time for myself. I've been keeping my little one busy, but it's been at my own expense. Thankfully this is the last weekend for hunting. Next Sunday (12/14) I start soccer. I don't know if it will be wonderful or depressing! I just know that I LOVE soccer and hope that motivates me in these cold months to get to the gym and eat well. Ok, I have to run. I'm making Core Shepherd's Pie for dinner tonight with leftover ground beef. I think it will be great...I just have to keep it up for all my meals. Any suggestions on how to handle the cold would be great! Talk to you soon. blessedwithsarah 12-03-2008, 03:52 PM Hi Ladies. Went to wi today. I lost 1/2 pd since my last wi 4 weeks ago. However, I had gained a few back and lost those since doing Flore. So, I'm happy. I think I'm finally on the right track. We have 2 weeks left to our at work session and then will start back up in January. She won't give us the new program since the session is ending. We'll get in in January. With the etools I'll be able to see it on the ww site next week. Not sure if I'll change what I'm doing as its working -- finally. Tech, glad dh is doing better and you have a plan for chemo. Rhonda, the egg casserole sounds yummy! I may need to try that. Maryann, glad dh is ok as well! Sandra, I wish I could do planting. Just toooooooo cold and frozen. Well, got to run to a meeting. BBL Maryann sammi861 12-03-2008, 05:06 PM Hey ladies- Ugh I'm SO frustrated right now!! I'm on another damn plateau. I started the 30 day shred on Monday and did that twice and today I went to a spin/cycle class and got my *** kicked haha. I'm going to go on Flex starting Friday for a week or 2 just to kickstart my metabolism. I know I've said this for a few weeks but I'm gonna actually do it. For some reason I've been having trouble with my portions... I don't know if I'm eating enough or eating too much. Trying to figure that in with working out is starting to get frustrating. Hopefully Flex will help me out and help me lose these last 8 pounds so I can finally become a lifetime member! :) Finals are coming up Monday and then I get to go home on Friday for a month :) It's gonna be a rough week but I'm ready. BRING IT! Rhonda- You can do it! These changes are hard at first, and let me tell you, I was absolutely DYING when I was @ the bar w/ my friends and tried to cut back on alcohol. I ended up binging a lot. Now I can go out and drink diet coke and nobody knows the difference :) Tech- Sorry to hear you fell off the wagon. This is the worst time of the year. Why do Thanksgiving, Christmas, AND New Years have to be so close together??? Hope the rest of you are having a good week! STAY STRONG! :) http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-pinknots/slider-situp/lb/215/140/163/.png (http://www.3fatchicks.com/) ontarget 12-03-2008, 06:01 PM Donna, thank you for the compliment, but our yard is far from good-looking. It's a work in slow process. I'm hoping it looks all right by spring, but it may take longer. Baby steps, dear friend. I'm tip-toeing, too. Whew, Maryann. What a relief! This is fantastic news. Rhonda, you are doing well. I admire your determination. You never lose sight of what you want--and you're making good progress. :welcome: Cuba. It's good to have you back. Paula, :woohoo: Congratulations. Sammi, just do what you can. Like I said earlier, "Baby steps." I'm off here to do some watering. It's really windy and everything's looking dry. sammi861 12-03-2008, 07:00 PM Sandra, baby steps is the perfect way to describe weight loss. Trying to think positively, at least I'm not gaining, and 52 pounds in 7 months is fine with me. It's a lot more than I thought I was going to lose. http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-pinknots/slider-situp/lb/215/140/163/.png (http://www.3fatchicks.com/) ontarget 12-03-2008, 08:13 PM You're doing great, Sammi. I am proud of you. coco99 12-03-2008, 09:02 PM Hey Everyone Just a quick "HI" And to let you know that I am really bummed here. At weigh in hubby lost 2 1/2 lbs. I gained a pound. And what is so upsetting is we ate the same thing. So I was told you must be cheating. Said I am not. So we will see what happens next week. Still bummed about my kitty. Even my doggies are missing her. Well I am going to go and check up on everyone. I have been thinking about everyone. Then yesterday had to spend part of the day in the ER with hubby. He is ok now. So just hadnt taken time to get on here. Hope everyone has had a great day. Thinking of each of you. coco thesusanone 12-04-2008, 05:05 AM Hi everyone! :) I thought I would check out the core board here on 3fatchicks. I've been following Core for about 9 months and I really have gotten to the point where it is like second nature. It totally revamped all my eating habits. I really like the program! So I thought I'd join you guys here to share about that. Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely start to December. This is my favorite time of the year. There is a buzz in the air with most people getting ready for the holidays. I also enjoy winter foods. I recently learned of a really nice winter stew that is core. I'll share it with ya here! Andean Bean Stew With Winter Squash and Quinoa :carrot: this recipe is from the NYTimes, and it's stick-to-your ribs fantastic. Makes 8 big servings. (5pts) 1 pound dried pinto beans, rinsed and picked over, soaked in 2 quarts water overnight or for 6 hours Salt 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil 1 medium onion, chopped 1 tablespoon sweet paprika 4 large garlic cloves, minced 1 bay leaf 1 (14-ounce) can chopped tomatoes, with liquid 1 pound winter squash, such as butternut, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch cubes 1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed thoroughly Freshly ground pepper 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley 1. Place the beans and soaking water in a large pot. Add water if necessary to cover the beans by about 2 inches, and bring to a boil. Skim off foam, reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer gently for 60 minutes, or until the beans are tender but intact. Add salt to taste. 2. Heat the oil over medium heat in a large, heavy nonstick frying pan and add the onion. Cook, stirring, until the onion is tender, about 5 minutes, and add the paprika. Stir together for about a minute, and add the garlic. Cook, stirring, for a minute or two, until the garlic and onions are very fragrant but not brown, and stir in the tomatoes and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring often, until the tomatoes have cooked down slightly and smell fragrant, 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and scrape the contents of the pan into the pot of beans. 3. Bring the beans back to a simmer, add the bay leaf and winter squash, and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes, or until the squash and beans are thoroughly tender. Add the quinoa and simmer for another 20 to 30 minutes, until the quinoa is translucent and displays an opaque thread. Taste and adjust salt. Add a generous amount of freshly ground pepper. Stir in the basil or parsley, simmer for a couple of minutes more, and serve. beach bum 12-04-2008, 11:25 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Feel very energetic this morning,I have no idea why, but maybe my body got the rest it needed and now I can't get things done that I was slacking before. Going to start with the diet, getting off the combo [flore] and work only with the core plan again. Don't like counting points, but now that I starting up with the core the only points I have to count is the WPA'.s CUBA-Thats what I'm going to do is make more veggie soup :stir: other the common ones we all love.I made a butternut squash & apple soup the other day a WW recipe and it was delish. You'll love:love: the core Shepard's Pie I made it several times and thats one of my favorite core recipe. PAULA-Thanks:thanks: for your kind words.Thats wonderful that you lost, big congrats.:cheer: The Flore doesn't work for me,so I decided to go back to the core.Theres something about counting points that messes my cykie [sp]. SAMMI-Don't get frustrated, hang in there. I know, that I'm thinking about that also,[eating enough or too much]that way I'm using a 3 section plate or you can visualize a plate and place 1/2 if it with veggies and a 1/4 with protein & carbs. for portion control.Another possibility why your plateauing could be your finals that are stressing:stress: you out.Sending you :dust: SANDRA-Thanks:thanks: we were really worried about the port, and now TG that bridge is over. COCO-Isn't that the way Men always lose faster than woman,as we are built differently. Congrats to your DH,and you're 1 lb is water weight for sure.It be gone soon.NO   You are not cheating and don't let that frustrate you.MEN ARE DIFFERENT,don't ever go by them. Woman get upset for some reason like losing your kitty the stress :stress:& the weight creeps up. THESUSANONE-Welcome:welcome2: to our board & thread. You'll find lots of support & motivation here,as we have a very caring group:grouphug: of woman on your side. I love:love: the core plan comparing to the Flex like I mentioned above. Thanks for sharing your recipe. I'm with you its a nice time of the year, but from TG:thank2: to the end of the year :tree: are eating & drinks holidays and you must be careful of what you take in or by January the gains are so disappointing, with all the hard work you done the year before. Have to go will post later ontarget 12-04-2008, 03:51 PM Hi, Chickies. I had one of those restless, almost sleepless nights and am pooped today so this will be short. :welcome: Sus. Thank you for the recipe. It sounds good. Coco, this is just another example of women not losing the same as men. Don't get frustrated. Maryann, can I borrow some energy? thesusanone 12-04-2008, 05:26 PM Thank you so much for the kind words of welcome. It's like a ray of sunshine on a dark and stormy day. I hope to be an encouragement to you all too! It's so funny how much more hopeful I feel to enjoy a better December than in years past. I'm excited about the simplest things like wearing a pretty new red blouse I bought that fits and really is flattering. I'm looking forward to feeling more energy when I am at the holiday parties. I can socialize more comfortably without feeling so awkward and heavy. I'm so grateful that I can enjoy the foods too, but just being smart about my choices. I will definitely have the rich food too, but in smaller portions than I used to take. I'm even going to bake some yummy treats that have lower calories because they are lighter (less fat). I'll share some recipes, if that is allowed too. I don't want to trigger anyone! But I found some really neat recipes for low fat or fat free treats. The only detriment is the sugar, but in small portions that is manageable. Hope your week is great! Tejas 12-04-2008, 09:05 PM :welcome2: susanone! This is a great group of people :grouphug: I went to a reception today and ate THREE pastries. When I went back to get a sanwich I grabbed hold of CORE and got an apple instead. :woohoo: Yesterday I had a headache and thought it was the mold on some boxes in the basement at work; today the headache came back and my neck was hurting. I thought it was my posture at the computer. When I got home I had fever of just over 100F, I think it's a cold and am headed for bed. Have a great night everyone. Rhonda Vickie 12-05-2008, 07:51 AM Rhonda, I hope you feel better soon. All this talk of the new program may make me go back to WW soon! blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 08:44 AM Hi Ladies. Had a full day managment conference yesterday that went into our holiday party for work. I did OK food wise - not a core day but I am going to go figure out what I had and write it up. Does anyone else use the online etools? The new Momentum plan is live on the ww site. Its basically flore with an option to not count points except for non-filling foods. HMMMM, flex or core. I'm not sure if the filling food list is the exact same as the core food list. but all of my routine things are still there. Sus- welcome back. Its great that you are so positive about yourself. Being in control makes the world of difference. Keep up the positive attitude! I love it! Rhonda, how are you feeling today? I hope better. Congrats on the apple! Hi to everyone else! Tejas 12-05-2008, 10:28 AM I use the on-line tools. The new program looks like a combo of optional counting, Core and the GI diet to me. Looks good. But, for me, today, tea and toast.  Rhonda blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 10:48 AM Great news! Our at work leader WILL give us the new materials next week! Can't wait to see the books, its easier than looking on line (IMO!). beach bum 12-05-2008, 10:51 AM Good Morning Ladies:) I went over to the WW site and saw the new Momentum program. I'm a little confessed, but I think basically the filling foods are coming from the Core food list.Along with weekly point values. Which I believe its the WPA's,but don't know if the allowed point system is going to be the reg 35 or less. I guess when the meeting members come to the thread they'll give us some more information. Hope that we have a place for us to hang our hats now that this new momentum plan is in existence. If any one know where to post please let me know as I don't want to lose you gals, somewhere in cyperspace. SANDRA-I didn't sleep well last night ,but I still have energy left over:hyper: So if you need some it right here. SUSAN-Thats how I feel I just like the simple things in life and big congrats:cp: in the NSV of fitting into that red blouse.Feel free to post your goods and look over at our recipe folder for all additional recipes. RHONDA-We're very proud of you for going for the apple instead. 3 :cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: Cheers going out your way.Sorry:sorry: about your headache and fever hope you feel better this morning. VICKIE-I think:idea: I feel the same way,but first I'm going to try to figure it out myself and than ask some of friends that go to the meeting what it really entails. PAULA-When I stopped the monthly pass I got kicked out of e-tools and can only get into the public part of the weight watchers site. It doesn't seem that different than what we thought?? Have a great one beach bum 12-05-2008, 11:29 AM HI:) Just got this in my e-mail from a friend that got this from the WW on line e-mail they send her. Not posting all but the things that able to old Corebies. Hope I'm allowed to post this, here goes Core Plan followers rejoice. The Simply Filling technique embraces all of the strategies outlined in the old Core Plan with an emphasis on portion control. In the Momentum plan, Simply Filling has simply been highlighted as a technique, rather than an entire plan on its own. If you choose, you may employ the Simply Filling technique for a week or continuously. At any time, you can choose to track again to gain additional information, but it is no way required if the technique works for you! You can switch to this technique in your preferences in the Plan Manager. Also,[[[[[[ note that the Filling Foods list is different than the Core Food List ]]]]]] so do spend some time becoming familiar with this list in your Plan Manager or meetings materials. Hope that helps sammi861 12-05-2008, 11:55 AM Maryann, thanks for the willpower dust!! I started flex this morning so hopefully my weight loss will start to pick up again. I had a friend look @ my menu's for the past 2 weeks and she said I wasn't eating enough calories. I thought I was eating too much. I will keep you all posted :) Have any of you started the new plan yet? How is that working out? http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-pinknots/slider-situp/lb/215/140/163/.png (http://www.3fatchicks.com/) Cubalibre7 12-05-2008, 02:47 PM Friday is my meeting day and we were told that next week they would be rolling out the program to everyone at my location. Although it is difficult, we just need to stay positive. WW never stears us wrong...but change can be tough. For me, I do know that they are going to give us a daily points value again plus your 35 for the week. So, we are really going back to Flex in the sense to watch our portions. We'll see... For now, I'm just going to have a good week on Core and hopefully start the new program with a bang! Wish me luck!!! blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 05:42 PM Maryann, I pay $12.95 for 3 months access to the etools. I love it as it gives me a very easy way to track. To see the new stuff you need to be paying. pattygirl63 12-05-2008, 06:50 PM Hi Everyone, I went to the WW website and joined and it looks like I ended up doing Flex since I can't seem to figure out to do the Slimply Filling program counting our 35 WPA only even tho it says we can do that. So I guess at least for the next 3 months that I'm paying for that I'll track all my points. I did find out that I'm not eating enough so maybe it will teach me how to eat enough. However, if I don't lose or I gain or if I get back into that mind set of thinking I have to eat all those points while counting them it won't take me long to switch back to Core only. It does have some good info though. So I'll see how it goes. Sammi - I too was surprised that I wasn't eating enough as I thought I was eating a lot. Rhonda - Hope you are feeling better today. CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss. Susanone - Hi and :welcome2: I remember you from another thread, but can't remember where. You'll love this group. They are very friendly, supportive and this is a more active group. Glad to see you here and that you're still making great progress. Mary Ann, Sandra, Vickie and anyone else I missed:wave: Hope everyone is having a great day. blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 08:11 PM Patty, to do the simply filling technique you change the preferences (found at the top left of the tracker screen). In there you can specify you want to follow the simply filling. It will then track it right. So, then you are essentially in Core mode. OK, so my one line tools have been on the new program for a couple of days and I've been reading all I can find. My view on it all -- no big change for us doing core. The filling foods list is basically the same as the core food list. I've yet to find anything that was core that is no longer core. The main program is still flex but more of a focus on eating whole grain, low fat foods (from the filling foods list). It also wants you to understand your body to track how hungry you were before you ate and how satisfied you are after you finished. The one change I found was that activity points can carry to future days in the week. So, I think that flex is now more like Flore! That's my review! Sammi and Patty -- I am finding it tricky to eat all my points. I'm not eating all most days-- I usually end up with 3-5 remaining. I need to plan better snacks. Hope this helps everyone! Maybe our board becomes the simply filling board. blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 08:12 PM OK, just read that our board is now called "Simply Filling/Core". Tejas 12-05-2008, 08:23 PM  Headache is less and there's no fever. Feel yucky, but on the mend. Not a Core day, because soup and toast do the trick with a cold for me. Paula, I can't believe the etools are so cheap! I pay $20/mo! I'm gonna check that out. Rhonda coco99 12-05-2008, 08:43 PM Hi Just a quick check in. I see we have a new name. Was afraid maybe they would get rid of us. Glad they didnt. Well I guess I will get all the new info on Monday. Wonder if they are going to change the dining out book and the complete food book. TEJAS hope you are feeling better. VICKIE How are you doing. Hope everything is ok. BEACHBUM How are you and your hubby doing. Hope everything is ok. Is the chemo done now. Or was something going on with the port. Did they get it fixed. Hope so. Hope you both are doing ok. Well I guess I will get off here for now. Hope everyone is doing ok. Thinking of each of you. coco blessedwithsarah 12-05-2008, 09:35 PM Rhonda, I just double checked. Its 12.95 per month or 29.50 for 3 months. pattygirl63 12-05-2008, 10:44 PM Paula - Thanks for the info. I checked it suggests doing this a week and then switch to Simply Filling. I will probably do that since, I'm not sure I'm not sure about my 35 pts. I think I'm okay (but have to check what I ate in WPA to be sure), but I'll go with it until next Friday which has become my WI day online since I joined today. Rhonda - Glad your feeling better. Being off Core while you recover probably won't hurt you since you probably won't over do it while feeling bad. Hope you are back to yourself really soon. ontarget 12-06-2008, 12:11 AM Rhonda, I'm glad you're feeling better. Congratulations on the weightloss. I went with a gf today to get a pedicure. We had a great time. Before we got our peds, we and our hubbies met for lunch. Life is good. Rehearsal went well. The play is next week. We're all ready to "Git'er done." beach bum 12-06-2008, 11:32 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Got on the scale this morning and I:devil: gained 1.5. I was counting points with core foods. I have no idea  if I eating enough, even if my points say :yes:yes. Hope the gain was just water retention,as I have so many problems with sodium. SAMMI-You quite welcome:welcome3: for the dust.Wish I had a friend look over my menu, and see if I not eating enough. But then I should be, eating Core foods. PAULA-I saw that on the WW site its 12.95 for a month like I was paying before with the monthly pass. Thanks:thanks: for getting the new plan to us. Happy it still the core in disguise,as I know that plan.I read on another board that they updated the milk list [cocoa mixes, reduced calorie dairy shakes], The ones marked with the diamond in the old core list are not included any more. The only one you can have is the WW smoothie. PATTY-Next week:yes: you can change it to the simple filling[CORE] plan. Gee!! thats going to take a while for this old :moo:cow to get to know these new tricks. I now use the fit day site to calculate my calorie intake. RHONDA-Happy to hear you feeling better. nothing like being under the weather, during the holiday season. COCO-Thanks:thanks: for asking Leo is fine with the port. It hasn't moved and he finely over the chemo. We just have the pet scan in January. SANDRA-Glad  you enjoyed you pedicure. I never had one but i heard that pampering is a good thing for you. Have to go and get my chore done pattygirl63 12-06-2008, 01:38 PM :wave:Hello Ladies, I went to the site last night and changed over to the Simply Filling. I made my WI in day Sunday which is what I like any way and it showed that I had 24.5 pts off of my 35 this week. Boy am I glad I did, because I weighed this morning and I was up 3 lbs which is terrible for one day counting pts.:(because I had lost 2 lbs so far on Core. I didn't like the way I felt on the other either. I just can't do all those pts. I was eating when I wasn't hungry just to get the pts in and that was my problem with Flex to start with. So I'm happy to say I'm back on SF/Core today. Mary Ann - So glad to here Leo is doing well. :hug:Sorry about the gain. I know exactly how you feel. As for me, I should have known better than to do anything but Core. I feel better on it and I was beginning to lose again. Sandra - I love having pedicures. I don't do them often, but totally enjoy it when I do. Paula - Thanks for telling me how to get to the Simply Filling tracker. Rhonda - I hope you are feeling much better today. Everybody I didn't mention by name -  Tejas 12-06-2008, 04:51 PM  hi everybody. I've essentially been in bed since Thursday night. I went out to get my hair cut today and that convinced me that I didn't need to be upright! So, back to bed. But, I'm not feeling awful, just "that dragged out feeling" as some commercial describes it. Bed rest doesn't hurt a thing I suppose. It's grey and snowy outside here. Have you heard about Canada's constitutional crisis? It takes too much typing to describe it in detail. But, basically the minority government really irritated the other parties and they formed a coalition and asked the Governor General for permission to form the government. She closed parliament until Jan. 26th when the minority government will present a budget. The budget could be voted down and then we'll see what happens. It's a part of parliamentary government that is very interesting, actually. Now, how do I connect that to eating? Well, let's see: increased stress levels over the period of suspension??? Ok, back to bed for me now... Rhonda sloanie 12-06-2008, 05:50 PM Hey chickies, I am in Gatlinburg, Tennessee with my family. A total of 24 people in a huge cabin equipped with all the luxuries including a large hot tub and a movie theatre. We are eating junk and drinking adult beverages that are absolutely not core/simply filling. I have done some walking today, but I won't be surprised if I have gained a couple of pounds when I weigh on Monday morning. Oh well, I am enjoying time with my family and will get back on the wagon on Monday. I am still walking before school with my friend, and now a group of us have started exercising after school 3 days a week. We are doing Pilates and needless to say, I am a little sore this weekend. I am excited about getting the exercise, though. Rhonda-I hope you are feeling better. I am still getting over a cold that has lasted about three weeks, so take care of yourself! Sandra-I am excited for you regarding your play. Break a leg!! Maryann-I hope the port issue is easily resolved. I will pray for you and Leo. Have you ever heard the song that says "sometimes He calms the storm, and other times He calms the child"? You know it is true. He will take care of everything! Patty-Do not despair. We all have ups and downs. Paula, Sammi, Coco and Cuba- I'll check in on Monday and let you all know how much damage I've done this weekend. TTFN ontarget 12-06-2008, 07:59 PM Sloan, enjoy every minute of your vacation with your family. You'll be all right. You've one of the most focused folks I know. You'll get back on track and be okay. ontarget 12-06-2008, 08:03 PM Rhonda, I'm glad you're getting your bed rest. Keep us posted on what's going on with your government. Maryann, I echo the same thing I told Sloan. You are a super-focused lady and will do all right. Just dust off and keep on keeping on. sloanie 12-06-2008, 09:29 PM Thanks Sandra, I'm feelin' kinda yukky after eating junk. I have to admit I'm really looking forward to getting back to normal. coco99 12-07-2008, 09:11 PM Hi Everyone BURRRR!!!! It is cold today. Right now it is 19. And windy. Boy did it get bad out yesterday. Son had taken us to see my Aunt. And to sister-in-laws. It started snowing. It came quick. Boy did the roads get bad. Done 45 on the interstate. And we seen a couple of wrecks. Then when we got on the road to where we live. There was a car against the bank on its side. So son stopped. To let the boy use the cell phone. Then the fire department got called out. So son had to go and get his gear. And when we was coming down this hill. The truck started to slide. Thought we were going to hit the bridge. But didnt. Then when the fire dept was responding. They were having trouble getting to the scene. Because the road wasnt anything but a sheet of ice. So finally the DOH got out. After the fire cheif called and said they needed to get out on this road. SLOANIE hope you had a wonderful time with your family. And I know you will get back on track. TEJAS Sure hope you are feeling better. Guess rest is the best thing. BEACHBUM you guys are in my prayers. VICKIE "HI" Miss you. To everyone else I am thinking of you. Well guess I will get the new WW info tomorrow night. Kinda excited about it. And kinda scary. Well I will get off here for now. Hope everyone had a great day. coco Tejas 12-07-2008, 11:34 PM Hi Everybody: Coco, so glad you didn't have an accident. The weather is miserable here too. I stayed inside, in bed or on the couch. DH took the dog out for about 10 minutes and that was more than enough. It's also 18-20F here. I'm on the mend, but staying home tomorrow. I don't have meetings to go to and can work from home.
