Thought I'd start a new thread since we were at 18 and I wanted to give you my popcorn recipe for those of you that want it. It isn't lowfat so be prepared. Let me know if you skinny it down, how it tastes. It is fast, easy, the clean up is easy, you won't ever burn it and the kids and adults will both love it if they like carmel corn. Since I don't want to get in trouble with Harry and David's for calling it moose munch, which is their product, I am going to call mine:

CRITTER CRUNCH

2 microwave bags of popcorn popped (any type)
1 cup roasted peanuts (I used honey roasted but you can even use dry roasted or cashews or other nuts too as long as they are roasted and not raw)
1 cup lt brown sugar (don't use dark it will be too strong tasting like burnt sugar)
1/2 c butter
1/4 c light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 tsp shortening

Pop both bags of corn and put them and the cup of nuts in a very large bowl or you can use a big paper bag with the top rolled down.

place chocolate and shortening in small bowl and microwave 90 seconds then stir until chips and shortening are completely dissolved and set aside.

place sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla and salt in microwave safe bowl, micro one minute, stir it up well, then if butter is not all melted, another 1 minute and restir, then 2 minutes so 4 minutes total. Remove and stir in baking soda, pour over popped corn and nuts and stir it up well getting the nuts, which will fall to the bottom incorporated into the sticky carmel.

place bowl or bag into microwave, microwave 45 seconds and stir or close bag and shake well, then another 45 seconds and again stir or shake and then 30 seconds and stir or shake.

pour mixture out onto a baking sheet. Drizzle chocolate over the entire popcorn/nut mixture and let dry and cool. Store in a covered container and enjoy!!!

Here are the hats all finished. Hopefully we can get a couple decent pics with them. The red ones are for Kelly's family and the white ones for Jay's. I got completely finished before I realized the two redheads should have been given the white hats, but Thomas's and Jackson's are different sizes! :^:

Ok, here is your laugh for the day. Jackson is not allowed peanut butter or chocolate, stuff like that until after he is two to prevent allergies. I ask his dad about candy for his stocking and he told me he loves those dumdum brand little suckers. I didn't want him not to have anything since Thomas has a bunch of candy in his so I really wanted to find these suckers. I did find him some root beer jelly beans in an A and W root beer bottle (it is tiny and plastic) and I bought him a pez dispenser because Thomas always gets one from me for any of the candy holidays, ie Valentine's Day, Halloween etc. So I looked at the commissary, Target, Walmart, Walgreens and no one had them. :( Jack found them tonight in Krogers but the only trouble is I had to buy THREE HUNDRED of them! I have this huge huge bag of suckers now! I told Jack I will save some for when he comes down here and give the rest to Kelly next year for Halloween!

Talk to you all tomorrow. I am off to wash all my popcorn dishes and my key lime pie stuff. I am on the home stretch with cooking stuff, thank goodness!

Morning gals. Have to hurry my post as this is push to holiday day. I still have floors to clean, vacuum up stuff from Christmas decor droppings as we are going out this afternoon and buy a real tree. Executive order (ps I am vice president so you know where it came from) and I have bathroom and kitchen to clean. I plan on getting up from here and doing bathroom and mopping laundry room and bathroom and getting sweeping in entranceway done then will mop it when Jack is up and around. Jack washed my whole nativity set so I got that up this morning. The are about 10 inches high, and I have 18 pieces to it so it takes up some space. My mil painted them for me for Christmas over 20 years ago and they have been lugged around. Only two mishaps. My goat lost one whole horn and tip of other and my cow lost a tip of his horn. The paint has come off in bits and bobs from Jack having to clean them last night. They were in a box a couple years ago that got wet and bugs got in so all that gunk was on them. When I put them in a rubbermaid container we didn't clean them first like idiots so we had that to do last night. I imagine it will be fun keeping Jackson out of it.

We have the kieflies to do first thing this morning. They take a good couple hours to do. Jack is going to bring down our short "church" style long table so we can sit and do them and have a place to put them when they cool. There will be 9 dozen. I will have some for tomorrow and the whole weekend then send a couple dozen home with Jay and Jack can take a couple dozen to work with him. Kelly loves them too, but she now can no longer have nuts and they have a walnut filling so I can't give any to her.

We then have to pick up the turkey today, go to Lowes and get a saw, a tree stand, batteries for the under the tree Christmas train, garland for my entertainment center and around fireplace, twinkle light replacements as needed and then pick out a tree. I have no idea how expensive they are, but I imagine quite a few $$$. They ship them here from Michigan as there is no where here in the south that grows them.

You wonderful ladies have a spectacular Thanksgiving and I thank God for the wonderful friends you have become even if we never meet face to face.

Good Afternoon, Flowers! It's another beautiful day in my corner of the world! The sun is out and it is 48 degrees . . . melt snow, melt! We got out of school at 11:30; I need to make a grocery list and run a couple of errands. Since Bob's brother and wife will only be in town for a couple of days he thought we should invite them out for a quick supper. Bob offered to order pizza but I'm thinking maybe chili and sloppy joes. I finally feel like eating today but pizza just doesn't sound good yet.

"Gma" -- Your "to do" list made me tired just reading it! I have to really clean my bathroom before anyone else uses it! I did a "hit and miss" once over lightly but really need to scrub! Are you going to end up doing the cooking for Thanksgiving dinner? Thank you for sharing your recipe; it sounds yummy! I had to laugh at you changing the name. ;) The Christmas hats turned out so cute! I know everyone will get a kick out of them. I shouldn't tell you this, but I hated those dum dum suckers! Our bank used to give them out and I was always afraid my kids would bite the candy off the stick and choke. Bob's younger brother choked on a life saver when he was 5 so I'm spooky about hard candy and popcorn for little kids. I know you will have a wonderful holiday with your family. Relax and enjoy! :thanks2:

I'm off to make my grocery list and get going. Have a great "rest of the day and Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!"

Good evening, ladies.

It feels good not to have to worry about making a holiday dinner and all that cleaning and decorating. I always did it for Stan. I'm going to church in the morning then on to my friends and the quilting will begin.

Faye, the popcorn sounds good. I love those hats. Hope you post some pictures on the heads of their wearers.

Jean, I hope you are all well and everyone else stays that way!

Maggie, I suppose you are busy cooking!

Ladies, have a great Thanksgiving. Don't do too much shopping on Friday. I won't be shopping at all that day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!:turkey: I was a mess last night. My feet hurt, my knees hurt, I was tired and I still had so much to do before today. I finally said ENOUGH and went to bed. I woke up at 2:20 AM with cramps in both calves so bad I wanted to scream. I got up and got a big glass of OJ as I didn't have any bananas and drank it and they went away fairly quickly after that and I went back to sleep. I got up at 6 this morning, put all the ornaments on the tree, washed all counter tops, etc in kitchen and only have sweeping and mopping in kitchen to do. Then at 8 I will put the turkey in the oven to get it warmed up enough for me to debone it and will debone it. The rest gets hauled to Kelly's for finishing.

To put you in the Christmas mood, here is my tree and fireplace. Oh, the orange looking things around the tree are actually red and white striped. It is led lights that look like one continuous candy cane. It smells so nice in the house as I put in new airwicks around the house in apple cinnamon and I have little mitten ornaments that have packets of evergreen smell in them along with the live tree we ended up buying. Boy I can tell I haven't bought a live tree in awhile. I took 45 minutes trying to find just the right tree. Not sure I like this type as my heavier ornaments were had to get on, but it looks pretty I think.

I will talk with you all tomorrow. Have a lovely time with family and friends today!

Happy Thanksgiving, Flowers! It was a nice day in my corner of the world -- sunny and no wind for a change. Our Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and especially so since I didn't have to cook it! :D There was only 5 of us so it was nice to visit and enjoy each other's company. Christmas will be a different story!

Susan -- I'm not planning on shopping tomorrow either! There is nothing that I want bad enough to go shopping at 4 AM! I hope you had an enjoyable day today.

"Gma" -- I imagine you must about worn out by this time. :faint: I hope all went well and everyone had a nice time. Thank you for sharing the pictures! Your tree and fireplace look so nice. I've never seen ornaments with evergreen in them. I'll bet your house smells yummy!

I need to do some picking up if I'm having company tomorrow. I hope they come in time to eat so I can get a few other things done that I have on my "to do" list. Have a fantastic Friday tomorrow . . . anyone else getting up to shop at 4 AM? No one in this house will be up, I'm sure of that!

Good morning ladies here on Black Friday. Though there are nuts around the country standing in front of stores freezing to death waiting for them to open at 4 am, I am just sitting here with a bit of a tummy ache. It is just a little nausea I get sometimes, don't know why. It will pass but right now I can't sleep so I came downstairs for awhile.

We are going to have Thomas and Jackson overnight tonight, which should be interesting. I don't know if it is such a good idea to leave the baby all night. He is still skittish around us and I am afraid when he wakes in the morning if his parents aren't here he will be very upset. I can't seem to get through to his parents that to him we are strangers again. It doesn't upset me, it is just the truth. He doesn't know us. He forgets us when he doesn't see us for months. I have to tell you, he is totally yummy. Thomas just adores him and Jackson follows T all over in hero worship. It was so beautiful here yesterday that we were able to sit outside and have drinks and appetizers and he played outside. Thomas has a little plastic picnic table that he is too big for and Jackson just loved it. It has little "holes" where the screws tightened down the top and Jackson would go and get leaves and dirt and try and stuff them into the holes. He would work and work at it. It was so funny. He puts just about anything in his mouth right now and has a fascination with his belly button. He is a thumb sucker and walks around with his right thumb in his mouth and his left finger in his belly button. It is hilarious to see.

Jean: So glad you had a nice time. We had a wonderful time, food was yummy and everyone pitched in to clean up. My dd decided to use china and the only glitch was when we went to clean up the dishes after storing everything, their water faucet wouldn't turn the water on so we had to leave everything sit. I felt terrible, but there was nothing we could do until they get a plumber in to see what is wrong with the inside of the faucet handle. They have one of those single handles you pulll up and turn left or right depending on hot or cold water. At least I was able to get all her baking stuff all cleaned up before we had dinner so she didn't have that stuff too.

Today we are going downtown as we figure no one will be downtown because there isn't a bunch of shopping. We are going to go to breakfast together then go see the Peabody ducks march. Jack and I may skip that and come back to the condo and get ready for everyone as we are doing Christmas today.

Everyone have a good weekend and hope it is warm and lovely where you are.

Happy Friday, Flowers! It seems like it should be Saturday to me. Bob is in the recliner with the same flu like stuff I had on Monday. :sp: So I'm not entertaining relatives for supper nor getting out the Christmas tree today. I need to clean my bathroom and run a couple of errands later. No 4 AM, nor WM, shopping for me today!

"Gma" -- Jackson is at such a fun age and I know how much you are enjoying your family time together. Jackson will probably be fine, without his parents, as long as Thomas is around. You will have today together to bond some more with him. I hope you are feeling much better as the day goes along.

I need to put my face on and head to the store. Have a nice day!

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

AH the day after Thanksgiving and it snowed. Our first of the year and Ragg Mopp won't go outside. :) I won't either for that fact. Well I would maybe but I am not dressed properly and that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it. We had a good time yesterday and all my preparation was well appreciated. I made up plates for the folks to take home so we don't have too many left overs. Just enough. OOPS Will just came in and we are going out now so I'll have to finish this later. Nope, we aren't going shopping. :D

Good evening, ladies! No snow here, rather nice in the low 60s today.

I had such a good time with Glory. I went to Mass then to her house. I ended up making scalloped potatoes with cheese and ham in them. I took a bottle of wine and a cranberry apple torte and a small pointsettea. Glory made us endless cups of tea and green beans with bacon and ham and applesauce, and heated up a lovely french baguette. We talked and quilted. We had our dessert about 3 pm, but ate out dinner much later. Around 10 pm we decided to make some door hangers for the others in our bee. We ran out of steam at 1 am and were astonished at the time. We did go shopping today...to the quilt shop which wasn't crowded and had some darn good sales. I bought some quilting items for 2 of my friends, got a fabulous pattern for needle box - in the shape of an outhouse. It holds a small pair of sissors, a spool of thread, needles and pins. When you take the roof off, the sides fold down to hold the items and the center is the "hole". Glory and I are chairing the guild challenge next year and we are calling it "Have you read a good book lately?" Well, I think I'll be entering a quilt and also the outhouse (in the "other" category). I'll make several little books to put in the outhouse. I'll be sure to post the picture after I finish it. I also treated myself to a new sewing box. It's different in that it is round and just the right size to carry my applique projects to guild or bee.

Gas is $1.55. I can't believe it. I never thought I'd see gas under $3 in my lifetime.

It sounds like you all had a great holiday.

Faye, keep a bottle of quinine water around. It really stops those cramps. The nurses had me get it for Stan to drink when he had bad leg cramps. When I get them, I stand barefooted on the tile floor in the bathroom and it seems the cold makes them stop. I think Jackson will be okay with grandma and Thomas.

Maggie, please keep the snow there. I don't want to see any! All the pansies that were put out this fall are blooming and will last all winter if we don't have an ice storm.

Jean, Sorry Bob has surcumb to the "sickness". It's no fun.

Take care and have a good evening. I'm going to baste a quilt so I can do some quilting while I'm doing laundry tomorrow - after I go workout at Curves.

Just a short one this morning ladies. I have the crud. I don't know if it is something I ate or flu even though I had the flu shot. It is coming out both ends and I just sent the whole family to breakfast without me. Nothing for me today, that's for sure. I am going to have to be a wet blanket and stay home.

Jackson did fine and is such a joy and funny little boy. I will tell you all about it later. I am back to the bathroom! {{{SIGH}}}

Good morning, ladies!

Faye, it sounds more like something with the food than the flu. But the flu shots are not effective for every type of flu. So sorry you are feeling bad with the kids there.

Another of my quilting friends died on Thanksgiving. That's 4 since October.

Well, I have to clean the kitchen and mop the floor then I get to go to the sewing room for quilting fun.

Have a good day.

GOOD MORNING MAGNOLIAS

Not much on my ticket this day. The snow is melting for it up in the 40s but It will be back. :D Ragg Mopp loved it once he got out in it. He ran and frolicked and got so excited with it. He was a hoot. I am going to do some work on the house I cut out the other day which has over 100 little pieces. It is one of the larger ones I do. I ran out of light cords so can't put the sides together before I solder the bulb keeper in the back wall. Got some ordered and will do what I can in he meantime. After I get off here we are going for a ride in a different direction then we have been before. We like to see what is all around us you see. I am so glad we both like to adventure.

DONNA UGH I am so sorry for you. After all your preparations now this. You take care and do what you are supposed to for this bout and get better.

SUSAN That is sad to lose so many friends but when our time comes it is here. We that are left behind have their memories to savor. I thought of your nice quilts when it got so cold here. ;) Isn't it nice to have something to do that you truly like and is also liked and useful to others. That little outhouse box sounds so cute.

Well Magnolias I am to hip ~ gotta go. Type at you later.

Good Afternoon, Flowers! It's a gloomy day in my neighborhood with a fine mist falling and an occasional snowflake in the mix. Most of our snow has melted so I'm hoping this doesn't turn into serious snow. Bob had a little soup and 7-Up this noon; it is staying "down and in" so far. He's really tired and has been either on the couch or in the recliner all day. So much for Christmas decorating today, but maybe we can do it tomorrow. I've been doing laundry and going through catalogs to pitch -- I always like to look just in case I might see something that I think someone might like. :present:

Maggie -- I'm glad your snow is melting! It is too early for serious winter snow yet (in my dreams!). I figure that every day without is one day closer to spring, right?! How long does it take you to put together a house with 100 pieces if you had everything that you needed on hand? You have more patience than I my friend!

Susan -- Door hangers for your quilting friends is a thoughtful gift. :D You and Glory will make a good team to be in charge of the guild challenge next year. The sewing boxes sound really cute as well as being useful. I saw a flower at a craft show one time; each petal unfolded to store needles of different sizes and the last petal connected to a leaf to cover a small pair of scissors.

"Gma" -- I'm so sorry you have the flu! I thought the flu shots were for respiratory type flu rather than the stomach flu. I sure feel for you! :( I hope you feel better before your family has to leave.

I hear the dryer buzzing so I'm off to fold towels and put another load in. Have a nice day and a great Sunday tomorrow!

Good afternoon, ladies. 50 degrees and rain today.

I think I'm coming down with a cold - I hope that is all it is. Runny nose, stuffy head, and tight chest. I decided it would be better not to go to church today and pass on my germs.

I tried to attach a picture of the outhouse but it doesn't seem to have worked. I'll have to get Faye to tell me how to do it.

Jean, I hope Bob is feeling better today. Do you have an artificial tree or a real one?

Maggie, 100 tiny pieces of glass, that's what I get when I drop something on my cereamic tile floor! You have a lot of patience. Hope your snow is gone.

Have a good day!

Good afternoon gals. Well, I am better, weak and awfully worn out, but stable. Jay and Alicia headed for home this morning so it is all quiet here at the Wilkinson household.

We had such a lovely time together even with me being sick all day yesterday. I thought it might be a food issue too, but I ran a fever of a 101 yesterday so who knows? I am just glad it is better. Just going to have to take it easy for a couple days I guess.

Jackson is so cute. His dad has a Wii and plays the sports package game that comes with it all the time. Well, when Thomas was here on Friday and was playing, Jackson would get the other Wii controller and swinging it like he was batting a ball or playing tennis. He was enamored by Thomas and followed him everywhere. Thomas was so good with him. He was patient and didn't get upset when Jackson would try and take the Wii controller from Thomas or stuff like that. They were so cute together.

Here is a picture of my boys visiting Santa. They took all our adult kid gifts that we exchanged to Salvation Army and they were so appreciative. This year it has been slim for people picking angels to help from the Angel tree so the toys and games will come in handy to give out to kids. My dd and sil gave me a cute, cute plastic little girl's handbag with all the stuff to go inside it. It was a learning thing where the bag talked to you when you would put like your wallet into it, etc.

We played a fun game of Thomas's called Apples to Apples on Thanksgiving and it was so warm we were able to sit out on their patio and have drinks and appetizers before dinner.

Susan: I don't know what photo program you have, but you may have to crop or resize your picture to show it if you can't get it to upload. You can't put a picture on bigger than 500 x 500. Sounds like you had such a lovely time with your friend and I am so sorry another of your friends passed away. That is so sad for it to happen over the holiday.

Maggie: We took Fortune to be groomed on Wednesday and I had a melt down because the idiot girl who took the appt wrote down 12:30 instead of 2:30 so they canceled him of course. It has happened more than once and I got mad so they worked him in. (Jack was a wimp and was going to just take him home because he was sure I was wrong but I had the time on a piece of post it note on my computer where I had written it when I made the appt) They did a nail grinding, which I didn't know they charged extra for and charged me $11 so it cost me $55 to have the little guy groomed. I could get a couple hair cuts out of that! I went and bought one of those pedipaws things to start doing it myself so they don't have to fool with his claws at all.

Jean: Hope Bob is up and around today and feeling better. I just couldn't believe I got sick so fast. I was trying to think what I had that no one else did and the only thing that it could have been if it was food is the catfish I had at Huey's on Friday. Jay and Alicia had both had the flu only a day or so before too so they weren't total better either. I cannot believe the catalogues I get. I got 4 of them just on Saturday alone. If you order something from some place you get their catalogues forever and if they pass your address around you get the off shoots of all that too. I pitch most of them, though I got a new Cold Water Creek that has some beautiful clothes in it that I glanced through.

Oh, I didn't tell you about my new bathroom decor mess. GRRRRR, from Target I ordered cute beach type shower hooks in bright pinks, limes, yellows and such and a pretty multi colored rug for under the sink and then from Penney's I ordered bright pink toilet lid and U shaped rug and a matching towel to go onto the back of the toilet since I don't like covering the whole tank. Well the orders all came on Wednesday, which I was thrilled with as then I could have it nice for Thanksgiving, only one problem. Instead of my U shaped rug, I got a package of 4x men's plaid boxer shorts!!!!! The bar code sticker was correct but some moron had put another bar code sticker halfway over the top of it and it says, "power pink rug" on it! So of course, my kids teased me all weekend about putting my undershorts rug down in the bathroom. I emailed Penney's and got mad at them and they sent me a UPS label, but no response to my email. I wanted an apology that I have to send the shorts back and then reorder the rug so that I get the right thing and then who knows if I will get a rug or another bag of underpants!

Well gals, I am going to roll my computer chair over to the dryer and fold clothes and put another load in the dryer. I am kind of behind feeling badly and the family being here. Then, rest for awhile.

Faye

Good Afternoon, Flowers! We've had some snow and some sunshine today. There's enough snow to cover the ground again; I shoveled the deck for the furry and feathered friends, but it has snowed enough to do it again. They just dig through the snow to get at their food so don't seem to mind the snow. Bob still isn't up to feeling the best -- at least his toast, tea, and chicken soup is staying "down and in" again today. He's getting cabin fever so that is a good sign.

Susan -- I'm so sorry I forgot to mention your friend's death. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. A death is never easy, but I think so extra sad at holiday time. I hope your cold doesn't get any worse and you are feeling better. We have an artificial tree and it is still in the box. Bob mentioned putting it up today, but I could tell he really didn't feel like it. I don't think I could get it upstairs from the basement by myself so suggested maybe doing it some evening this week.

"Gma" -- I'm glad you are feeling better today. The Santa picture is darling! I'm glad that Thomas got a kick out of Jackson as that makes life much easier when they are together such a short time. The gifts for the Salvation Army are such a clever idea! We have "adopt a family" locally and there is a list in the newspaper; one is an elderly lady with a cat and I told Bob I wanted that one! ;) I hope you get your bathroom rug and the right one this time! Sometimes I really think that companies hire the mentally challenged and then pay no attention to their training.

I am not ready for it to be Monday tomorrow, BUT I only have 13 1/2 days left for this semester. :cheer: We have 2 1/2 days of final exams before CHRISTMAS vacation, but not every class meets every day. I am so ready to be done with the reading yahoos!!!!!!

Have a relaxing evening and a marvelous Monday tomorrow! After Monday comes Tuesday and it's downhill from there! :)

Good morning gals. Lost my first post somewhere in space so have to start over. I feel much, much better except for kind of wrung out. I will take it easy for a couple days, which means no cleaning and you know how that goes with me! lol

Everything is nice and quiet after the hub bub of the weekend. Jack has gone back to work so it is only Fortune and I going to sit and knit today. I am going to work on my sweater that I have put aside for months to finish other people's projects. I now have three requests, one from the lady whose little girl I did the hats for. She wants more hats for Emma since she will be without any hair for quite awhile I guess, then my dil's sister wants another apple hat for her dd since she outgrew it. No surprise as she is 4-5 months old and it was only for a newborn. Finally, my niece wants a bag to carry her schoolbooks in and her mom wants me to make it for her for Christmas. No pressure there!!! I hate to be a nudge, but for some reason people don't realize it costs money to make this stuff. My niece's bag is a felted one and wool is expensive. It cost me $50 for the wool and button and that doesn't even count shipping it to Ca fast so she can have it for Christmas, if I can even get the stuff and get it done by then. I mean, I don't mean to sound like a scrooge or anything and when I make them for gifts I am thrilled to do it, but when someone requests something, the least they can do is offer to pay for the yarn and stuff. I had one of my friends ask me to make a bag for one of her sister's friends. Again, it was a felted bag and when I told her how much it would be (I added an amount for my time) all of a sudden they no longer wanted it. My dd has offered to pay for yarn for Emma's hats, but it is difficult to get the money back from my dd. It isn't a priority for her so she forgets and I don't like to continually remind her. I did that from Thursday through Saturday to get my money for my birthday stay at the hotel we paid for which was the beginning of November. I usually just let it go, but it was over $90, the stay was miserable and heck it was my birthday present. I must sound like a real witch about it, but I guess it irritates me when people don't even make the offer to pay for the supplies let alone my time, which I never charge them for anyway.

I sent oodles of cookies and popcorn mix to the plant with Jack today. I want to get it out of the house. I imagine I will send more tomorrow or the next day. I received a very nice cylinder of nuts and raisin mix from Harry and David's from Jay and Alicia for my birthday (we did Jack's, Jay's and my birthday on Friday morning before everyone was together.) Unfortunately, I am not supposed to eat nuts anymore so I am sending them to the plant. I didn't have the heart to tell Alicia I couldn't have them and ruin it. I also have a ton of candy I bought, toffee, chocolate macadamia nuts and such that I will send to the plant to get rid of. I send two plastic shopping bags full of stuff with Jay and Alicia, but Kelly didn't want anything I guess. I snuck something in Jay's stuff for Jackson and covered it with the food. I have this annoying and I mean annoying cute santa claus. It is squishy soft and about 8 inches high, very stuffed animal like, BUT it has a sensor in his mouth that whenever you walk past it, it says, "Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas," then plays THREE christmas songs. It drives us nuts and we usually put him face down after the first day! Jackson fell in love with it so I put it in the bottom of the bag for him! :D It can drive his parents nuts now! lol I didn't tell them I sent it. I was afraid they wouldn't want to take it! I am a bad Nonny!:)

Well gals, I should go. I think I will scrounge around and see what I have to make another baby hat. I know I have a bazillion leftovers I can use to make another apple style hat.

Have a good one today and keep warm. It is just plain cold and wet here today.

Good morning, ladies!

I've been swilling Day-Quill so I feel okay and came to work. Had to do payroll.

I didn't get any cookies made so will stop at the bakery on my way home and get some. I doubt I'll be the only one with store-bought cookies.

Faye, the picture is adorable. I'm glad you slipped the Santa in for Jackson. I always buy little kids drums and other "noisy" toys to drive the parents crazy. I know what you mean about people asking for things to be made with no offer for payment. People ask me for quilts. I just tell them I don't sell my quilts or do special orders. Mean but necessary. I do give quilts away, but I decide who will get them.

Jean, I know you are counting down the days until vacation from the brats. Thanks for the reminder that I need to get the feeders out. For some reason, there were very few acorns this year. The squirrels seem to be starving, they'll eat anything. I feed the animals and birds because Stan loved to do it.

Maggie, hope you are having fun!
