did you find that you had to stop or stall on certain days/weeks
- It says if its too hard to just stay on that level

What did you do on the other 4 days of the week when you werent working out?
- its a 3 day a week program, (from the one i read) did you rest or do weights?

Thank you for you feeback!

When i felt like i need to stop or gasp for air of course id take it slow , and that usually happens on the first day of each new week .
And im doing the 30 DAY SHRED Daily even when on the C25K days .

After thanksgiving sounds great!!!

This should be a lot of fun and we can keep each other motivated!

I LOVE C25K. Just completed it!!!!

On my "off" days, I would honestly just take the day off, did the 30DS once in awhile or another work out DVD but if I were you, I would lift weights. Weight lifting really does put a kick in the butt in the weight loss.

Do it, and keep with it!!!! I LOVED IT and before this I HATED RUNNING!!!!

Jessiebear
11-26-2008, 09:40 AM
Monday sounds great to me...I will use the treadmill at my apartment fitness center. I can't wait...i hate running too Jamiejo, but I really want to like it. I liked it when I was in highschool, but now it just seems like alot of work...but I guess that is the kick in the A** that I need. We can use this blog to keep ourselves accountable. YAY!!

11-26-2008, 11:57 AM
Mind if I join you all also? I did one week of just random running/walking and took a look at the c25k and it sounds good :)

Jessie I'm completely with you! I used to run XC and track in high school and well...obviously...I've since given up? Is it just me or does it seem like getting back in shape is much more difficult now than when we were younger?

How Can You Be A Packer And A Bears Fan?!?!?!

;)

Jessiebear
11-26-2008, 12:06 PM
packersbearsfan...it is so so so much harder!! i can remember a time in high school when a good friend of mine and I would decide to go out on a run, and 10 miles later we would decide we were done....now I don't think I could do a minute! Of course you can join...the more the better...are we going to do it monday wednesday and friday?

11-26-2008, 01:06 PM

I started running in July using that program. It is awesome!! I had never been able to run before. Today I ran for over 33 minutes straight! I am even going to run a half marathon in March!

I highly suggest finding or making podcasts with music you like. Robert Ullery(sp?) has the first I listened to, and his instructions are great but he uses techno music. I did get used to it after a while and I started using the time to think. There are hiphop ones at kissmyblackass.org -her week 4 was a little too vulgar for me, AND she didn't do the vocal cues that week but I listen to her week 3 podcast now even though I am running the whole time.

HTH!!

LOL JaimeJo I'm a Bear's fan that moved to WI (Gutsy move I know!) and ended up doing something I swore I would never do, date a Packer Fan and now I'm marrying him!

Jessie I know what you mean! I completely miss that (and how much I weighed then too! ;)) I'm all for M W F, starting this Monday if that works for everyone?

Thin4Good - What did you look up on for Podcasts to find those? I could totally use the cues vs. staring at a clock on the treadmill! :)

I love, love love it!!! I am on week 3 and am sooo not a runner. I do the 30 DS or the BL workout even on the days I run. Exercise 7 days a week has kept my weight loss regular!

I just found this thread and I did Week One Day One this morning! I'm planning on Day 2 tomorrow, so I'd love to do this with you guys!

I have started this program so many times before but I always just get bored and quit. I'm not too out of shape because I play lacrosse so I can run a mile or so just fine, but I have a lot of trouble every time I try to increase that mile, so I figure that a program might make it easier for me to improve.

Maybe this will help keep me from flaking out like usual.

Thin4Good
12-02-2008, 09:36 AM
just in case- you have to right click on the link, then click, "save as" - save it somewhere you can find it easily, then you can put it on your mp3 player however you do that. Mine has software I have to go through but my son's is really easy. On his you just drag the file into the window for the player.

My husband and I started the couch potato to 5k this summer, but quit in week 2. I think it was lack of motivation and the fact that my husband is in much better shape than I am. I would love to start it up again, but I live in Maine and it's damn cold to get up at 6am and run and I do not have the motive after work, and it's cold then too. I think about starting it again all the time, but thinking isn't doing.

luvmyinnerdemon
12-05-2008, 12:33 PM
amanda where in Maine are you from?? I used to live in chelsea/augusta, but i moved out here to vegas about 4 months ago, turns out it didint work out and me and my bf and our kids are comming back home! I never thought i would miss Maine until i left it!

amandarose17
12-05-2008, 01:10 PM
I live right outside Portland. I would love to move to Vegas, is it warm??

luvmyinnerdemon
12-05-2008, 01:32 PM
it is very warm! Total total culture difference! In maine if someone knocks on your door, its no big deal, here im not allowed to answer! No one is really friendly because everyone is worried that your going to mug them, and in the paper they show a map of your area and all the break ins that occured that week, and there are alway at least 30 per week, and at east five are at gun point, its fun but kinda scary if your not used to dstuff like that! But were moving back dec 15th! we go to portland all the time maybe one day we could meet at the mall or something! Though my faorite place to go around the mall there is newbury comics, love that store!

lol back to the orignal point of the thread, ive been using a treadmill for now becuase i know when we get back i wont want to go outside!

amandarose17
12-05-2008, 01:42 PM
I live in an apartment complex that has 2 other buildings in the area. One of the buildings (not mine) as a gym that I can use for free. To call it a gym is an overstatement, it more like gym equipment that sometimes works. There is no changing room, so I used to change after work and go, but now it's so cold. I know I need to get back to using it, but the idea makes me sick to my stomach for some reason.

BTW, I am in love with Newbury Comics. I will PM you my email and we can talk there.

Week 1 completed!!! Are you guys ready for week 2!

Did you guys feel a diffrence between day 1 and 3? I did, Day three i started to get tired, but it was a good tired, like your working yourself out tired, not the OMG i think i may die kinda is this every going to end tired.

Viatre
12-06-2008, 04:30 PM
Yep, I finished my Week 1 too!
I'm going to have to tweak next week a little, and run Sunday, Tuesday, Friday to work around my lacrosse practices, but that's alright.

I thought it just got easier as the week went on. I ran faster every time, and when I did day 3, I felt well enough at the end that instead of just jogging for the final minute, I ran half a mile at 10 minute speed! I haven't run that much, that fast, since last spring!

W3D2 done!

I'm afraid I'm getting shin splints though... I limited myself to forty minutes on the treadmill and instead of doing more on that, did thirty minutes on the stationary bike, since that isn't weight bearing... But I really can't get shin splints right now! I need to be able to run 10 minutes straight in early January and it'd be best if I was doing so a LOT faster! My coach wants us running eight minute miles and right now I'm hovering around 12! Agh!

So, while I'm not even hoping to run an eight minute mile, a ten minute might be attainable - if I don't get those stupid shin splints again!

Hey guys. I just finished W3D3! I'm going to have to wait until Monday to start W4 though since I'm going camping tomorrow and Sunday.

I'm also running pretty slowly. Today, though, I started the running sections at about 5.3, but for the last three minute run I popped it up to 6.0 and didn't have too much trouble! That was pretty cool! Also, I made myself walk faster this time, between 3.5 and 4.0, instead of my usual flat 3.5!
