Simply Filling/Core - Core hat: Nov. 24-Nov. 30View Full Version : Core hat: Nov. 24-Nov. 30 Tejas 11-24-2008, 11:47 AM :cofdate: New Pages. Tejas 11-24-2008, 11:53 AM "Core hat"????? What happened to the "C"?? I must have not typed it and I can't figure out how to edit the title. Maybe one of the monitors will fix it for us! Anyway, if you've been able to find your way here, you can be OP for the day  I've lost more weight, but I'll put it in print tomorrow on my WI day. I've been good with not eating the pie I made. :woohoo: It's almost gone and reaching that runny stage so it isn't tempting me. Have a great day. Rhonda beach bum 11-24-2008, 12:35 PM Good Morning Ladies:) or whats let of it. Had a bad night sleeping, & I woke up quite late,so that the reason for the late post. Didn't do to bad over the weekend, but I must be more careful with the snacking at night. My problem,I think is that I'm not eating enough at supper time and tend to eat more watching TV Its mindless eating, does anyone have any suggestions, except don't eat???????? Went down one pound this morning, but I have to wait until FRI W-I for the real results.Don't want to count my chickens before they hatch. As I yo-yoing this same pound over & over again. RHONDA-Thanks :thanks: for start us up this week and congrats :congrat: on your 1/2 lb loss. You'll probably lose more by tomorrow.Your doing so well with your one pound a week challenge. PAULA-Hope to survive this new program Flore or Momentum or what ever its called. I been counting points, along with eating core foods,so maybe I doing the new program without even knowing it. Lets eat what happens at my Fri W-I.I'll be very surprised it I lose after a holiday. Have a great morning & I will be back some time this afternoon and see what you gals are up to. Vickie 11-24-2008, 01:17 PM Mary Ann, my trick used to be drinking something warm in the evening. For some reason, it would fill my tummy and make me feel satisfied. If I still needed to get a milk in, I'd have my warm vanilla milk (8oz skim in microwave with added 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and splenda). If not in the mood I make a big mug of sweet tea with skim and splenda. Sometimes just a cup of chamomile or other herbal tea. If I'm having a chocolate fix, I make a cup of Swiss Miss no sugar added (Core) with 8 oz of skim. This would help me because I was generally not hungry in the evening. I just WANTED something. Good Luck. TechAlum 11-24-2008, 02:01 PM Hello All, Sorry, I disappeared last week. I was doing well and then..:headache:..but life goes on and I will do better this week. It's a cold - rainy/snowy day outside. I think I'm going to stay in and get some work done. Although I need to go out to the gym, I skipped exercise all weekend and can feel it today. I have to say I stopped in last night while dinner was cooking (I made a chicken-squash stew and it simmered forever) to read the posts and had to laugh at people getting worked up about the changes that haven't even happened yet. I've been doing ww off and on for 25+ years and have seen at lest 5 major program changes as well as countless minor "tweaks" Sometimes I've liked the changes sometimes not so much, but they have never been disastrous. You just adapt or go it on your own with the old program (hmmm wish I still had the old "Fat & Fiber" plan). Anyway, I'm in a wait and see mode right now. Rhonda - just FYI if sammi didn't answer your question. She lives in Chicago but goes to school in the UP. And while where she goes to school is the biggest city in the UP......its the UP lots of national forest. Paula - Paula you were asking about how those on "flore" divide up pts; here's how I do it: I get 27 - I use about 6 for breakfast, 6 for lunch, and 10 for dinner, that leaves 5 for snacks which I divide up. I guess that works to about 1/5 - B, 1/5 - L, 2/5 - D and 1/5 Sn. But I do find I need to plan everything out, usually starting with dinner and shift pts as needed. Maryanne - About night time mindless snacking, I try to do something with my hands so they are busy and then I can't mindless eat. Vickie's suggestion of hot drinks works for me too, although I'm not much of sweets girl, so I usually have hot tea (unsweetened) there's a lot of flavored ones out there for different tastes. Vicki - its great to hear from you. I'm with you on the wait and see. Are you feeling better? Still going to meetings? Hi to everyone else. -Tech suitejudyblueeyes 11-24-2008, 02:31 PM Unfortunately I am knee-deep in a project I was supposed to have in to my boss this morning so I don't have time for much of a reply, but I must say I LOVE the Core hat :D  Definitely got me to laugh. :p  I know it's just a typo and I feel silly but it sure did amuse me while I was dealing with the other stuff going on in here. I'm going to have my Core hat on this week anyhow, to make sure I stay OP, so maybe it's not such a bad concept? :) beach bum 11-24-2008, 04:20 PM Hi Ladies:) Thanks for your information on hot drinks as a snack alternative for night time snacking. I never gave it a thought. VICKIE-I like your combos of flavors with the hot drinks. DONNA-I'm not really getting worked up about the changes I just want us to stay together on one thread, your my meeting room & losing all of you is going to be hard to face. I think I doing the new plan already like PAULA is doing counting points on core foods, other than my snacking.I guess I will have to take out my knitting again, and try to keep my hands busy during that bewitching time. JAIME-Hi:wave:have a great day, hope the boss gives you lighter assignments this afternoon. I will keep my core hat on also to keep me OP. Vickie 11-24-2008, 07:57 PM Hey Donna....and the rest of you Core chicks! Thanks for thinking of me. I'm feeling a little better. I still have the smokey smell but it's a bit less intense than it had been. I'm trying to stop feeling sorry for myself. I stopped going to meetings but I intend to go back on December 8th. Me and WW with yet another fresh start. Maybe even with a new program to boot! I'm still lurking. Feel like I shouldn't be giving advice since I am not losing at the moment and still don't feel much up to posting. Still and all, I care about all of our regulars here....including all our new friends....and still check in almost every day to see how you all are. Mary Ann.....I'd be sad to lose our spot with my Core friends. Don't worry. No matter what happens, we'll find a thread to hang out on. Judy and everyone else seems so accommodating. I'm sure they'll help us out. Tejas 11-24-2008, 08:36 PM Glad to be amusing! I just made a great dish with chicken breast, LOTS of garlic, onion, red pepper, tabaso pepper, mushrooms and olive oil, with basil and parsley. I browned everything in olive oil, mixed it all together, cooked it in white wine for about 30 minutes. I have no idea how many calories/points but I counted 6 just to be on the safe side for the oil and wine. It was yummy. Maryann, I'm with Vickie on the night time drinks. Hot milk is helpful for sleeping also. But, I know the feeling about just wanting to eat. I try to ignore it! Hope everyone has a great night. Rhonda Vickie 11-24-2008, 09:11 PM Rhonda, is it too late for me to come for dinner? Tejas 11-24-2008, 10:34 PM I've got leftovers Vickie. I'll send them your way. blessedwithsarah 11-25-2008, 08:58 AM Good morning everyone. Rhonda, that recipe does sound yummy! I may need to try something like that. Vickie, its great to have you posting again. Don't feel you can't ==for any reason. I hope you do continue to feel better. Well, after 2 full days of tracking points, I feel a new excitement. I'm still eating the same things but I have a new way of looking at the program and working it. The big difference -- is the points are for the day. If I screw up, its just a day. With just tracking the WPAs, I would feel if I screwed up, the week was shot. Lets see if this works. I'm going to continue to do this through next Wed (no wi tomorrow) and see how the scale is. Well, got to get my bf made -- making a breakfast burrito. I'm now addicted to sautee'd baby bella mushrooms. I'm putting them in everything! Joslynn 11-25-2008, 10:06 AM I finally made it through my second week (non-consecutively) of weight loss on Core. I am my own worst saboteur. :0 That's what I'm trying to work on today. I brought a delicious lunch. My boss is moving to a new job and there is a potluck for him today. I didn't bring anything, because I feel that if I don't provide something that I won't eat everyone else's food, because I'll feel bad for not contributing. I also will be singing the song, "Walk On By" all day today, when I pass food that is not acceptable for this way of living. I know I can get through this day without dipping into more of my wpa's. I tend to eat all of those on the first few days of the week and then have none for the weekend. So I'm trying to spread them out through the week so I'll still have some on the weekend. I have yet to accomplish this, but I'm not afraid of new things. So full speed ahead for me. I have used 9 wpa's (including 3 activity points used), today and as far as my meal plan looks, I won't have to use anymore. Wish me luck!!! beach bum 11-25-2008, 10:48 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Have to make this fast as Leo wants to get out to pick up are turkey as we having a down :rain: pour now and for the rest of the day.Along with rain we are going to have winds going up to 50MPH. Have to wear my slick,to keep the rain off my back. VICKIE-Tried you little trick last night, drink hot herbal tea and to my surprise it WORKED.Thanks you so much for helping me.I was very dramatic in my post last nigh. I just feel so comfortable with your ladies as cyper friends I don't want to lose you.The WW board is so big I was lucky to find you to begin with. RHONDA-You chicken dish looks and I imagine the aromas that would make this dish delicious. When supper???????. I knew about the hot milk putting you to sleep but never realized the hot drinks could do the same for filling your up. PAULA-I'm almost doing the exact thing your doing but I not dividing my points between meals. If you feel it working for you I will try it next week. JOSLYN-Your on your way to success with your plan.Just keep that song in your mind WALK ON BY and your will succeed. Congrats staying OP for the 2weeks now continue. Haver to go Vickie 11-25-2008, 11:00 AM Darnit, Rhonda, I wish I'd seen your post last night! Thanks, Paula. You are too sweet. I'm trying to post on the good days. Good Luck, Joslynn. You have a GREAT plan for today. Mary Ann, I'm very glad it worked for you. Try the vanilla milk. It's a hundred million times better than just hot milk. And....it fills your tummy because it's a protein. You're not dramatic. I feel the same way about people here. We'll manage to stay together somehow. Joslynn 11-25-2008, 11:28 AM Thank you Vickie and MaryAnn for the encouragement!!! Didn't realize how much I needed to hear your thoughts until I read them. Cheers!!!! :grouphug: blessedwithsarah 11-25-2008, 11:34 AM Josyln, if you need to save your WPAs for the weekend be sure to plan as much as possible for the week. I actually find that during the week its soooooo much easier. I bring my breakfast and lunch with me to work and make simple dinners. Do you cook ahead? I find it helps a lot as well. HTH TechAlum 11-25-2008, 02:45 PM Hello All, This needs to be quick I have to go to the dr's in a minute, I've had an ear-ache that's been bugging me for about 8 mos and finally broke down and went to the dr a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the meds he gave didn't clear up the problem. This apt is to follow up on the blood work he ran at the same time (new dr, basic physical type stuff), I'll have to bring up the ear again tho. I went to WW this morning and  I was down 3.2 lbs. Now I'm back where I was before I back slid for a month :o Let's hope I can stick too it this week. Have a great day everyone   -Tech Vickie 11-25-2008, 04:57 PM Wow, Donna! Outstanding work. Hope your ear feels better soon. There's nothing worse than not feeling right. Joslynn 11-25-2008, 07:46 PM Josyln, if you need to save your WPAs for the weekend be sure to plan as much as possible for the week. I actually find that during the week its soooooo much easier. I bring my breakfast and lunch with me to work and make simple dinners. Do you cook ahead? I find it helps a lot as well. HTH Well, I've been trying not to plan a week in advance like I used to, because then I do use all my points and tend to go waaaaaaay over. I have a general idea of what I'm going to eat when I get home. I do cook, but they are pretty simple meals, like grits, eggs and veggies. Or skinless rotisserie chicken with veggies or canned salmon with veggies or eggs. At any rate, planning too far in advance didn't work for me so well. So now I do one day ahead. :carrot: I can't believe that I went to the potluck for my boss and walked out of there without touching any food. I even sat and chatted with my boss and some other co-workers while they ate. They had all sorts of goodies and when I got back to my desk, I was really surprised that I hadn't snagged one single thing from the potluck. I wasn't tempted at all. However, there was one thing I did look at twice and that was a tray of quartered apples. Can you believe it? I would have eaten apples and not the delicious-looking pies they had sitting there. I really did surprise myself. I am so proud I don't know what to do, aside from jumping around and feeling really good. :carrot: I'm pleased as punch and I think that this site was the one that really aided me in succeeding. You all were so kind to me this morning. Thanks!!! blessedwithsarah 11-25-2008, 08:39 PM Josylyn - congrats on the will power!! Great Job. For meals, have you ever thought of cooking up some meals and freezing them? I do that quite often so I have core meals in the freezer. I freeze them in the ziploc or glad meal containers that are for the freezer and microwave. Some things that feeze really well -- smothered chicken and barley (recipe in the recipe thread), pasta with veggies and sauce, homemade soups. I find any pasta or grain do freeze well. What I don't think freezes well are soups with boiled potatos or anything with rice. I don't like the texture when they thaw out. Another great staple I love is whole wheat couscous. It cooks up in 5 minutes. Mostly I make a veggie couscous salad (cukes, onions, peppers, carrots, tomatos - salad type veggies mixed with the couscous and then I make a redwine vinnegrette to dress it). That lasts for a few days in the fridge. HTH -- Tejas 11-25-2008, 09:43 PM Congrats on the will power, Joslynn! Paula has some good suggestions there for you, for all of us. I lost 1 and 1/2 pounds, so I'm a bit behind my schedule, but slow and steady. After Thanksgiving, I'm back to more exercising. We won't have our Thanksgiving meal until Sunday because it's just another workday up here in Canada...we had the holiday in October. Gotta run...had very busy day today and am very tired  Rhonda Tejas 11-26-2008, 07:25 AM OK, the prize is mine today. Last and first to post. Well, no matter what I tried, I could not go back to sleep after waking up at 3AM. So, I just got up and read. I'm reading John Grisham's "The Appeal." It is really good: he is quite the good storyteller and with a lot of relevance. I was not too well behaved yesterday on the food front. I had a small, thin crust pizza for lunch. But, I ate only 1/2 of it, took the remainder to work and gave it to one of the students. They're always hungry! It was our second wedding anniversary yesterday but we were both too tired to go out. Really getting old ;) So, DH ordered pizza!!! I ate one slice and drank diet pop. What an exciting night we had!!! We'll make up for it at the weekend feast, no doubt. I have another busy day at the office. I'm trying something new I'll tell you about. Our students have some serious money management problems (don't they all!). One of our program donors is an accomplished businessman who wants to give more to the program by directly interacting with the students and he is going to give two afternoons a week to counselling them individually about budgetting and financial planning. Today is our first day to do this. The student response has been phenomenal. They really want this: he is going to be very busy. We also have a big public event today. One of the local banks is funding a program we run in some "high priority neighborhoods." We give a university course to high school students. If they pass, they get a university credit. It's a very successful program and today we are having a big media event. I'll have bags under my eyes no doubt. So, it's a very big work day. At least we aren't serving any food at these events! Have a great day everyone. Rhonda beach bum 11-26-2008, 10:27 AM Good Morning Ladies:) It looks like we are going to have bad:rain: weather again. VICKIE-I tried the drinking hot milk with vanilla protein powder and it & it did fill me up. JOSLYN-That what we are heard for is to support & motivate our our friends on this thread. That terrific if you found what works for you continue doing that. I used to journal for the week ahead now I just write a couple days at a time. DONNA-Sorry about your ear problem.I guess you didn't have a middle ear infection or the meds would have helped.Hope the find & result the ear problem soon. Big congrats on your 3.2 weight loss. You're really doing terrific. RHONDA-Congrats on your 1.5.loss. Slow is better than fast.I 'm weighing in tomorrow instead of Friday, as its not a good idea right after TG.Not expecting anything good as I seem to be yo-yoing the same pound over and over again. Have a great morning will come back later Vickie 11-26-2008, 10:30 AM I just use vanilla extract. How did it taste with the protein powder in it? beach bum 11-26-2008, 12:45 PM Vickie - The protein power became lumpy once the milk got hot.I guess the PP is only used for cold shakes.Going to try the extract instead. Vickie 11-26-2008, 01:42 PM You'll love it! Sorry, I should have been more specific. blessedwithsarah 11-26-2008, 05:12 PM Hi everyone. Finally sitting down to relax a bit. I did on line Christmas shopping this morning and had a pedicure! OK, I guess that was a bit of relaxation. After dd got home from school (1/2 day today) my sister and I took her to the local state park kfor a walk. We did the main trail -- took 1 1/2 hours. Came home and had my apple. So far today and this week is very, very good. I'm starting to make my plan for tomorrow -- I'm going to stick to program for breakfast and dinner. But for Thanksgiving I'm going to have what I think looks great. I am not going to waste calories on things that I don't LOVE that are not core. I'm not going to stuff myself either and I'm wearing fitted pants (ones not stretchy!). Gobble Gobble everyone! ontarget 11-26-2008, 06:24 PM Hi there, Chickies. We got home Monday evening from Austin. Sorry I haven't been on here. We've been running in circles working in the yard. I planted a lot of pansies today. We're going to my son and dil's tomorrow for Thanksgiving. After that, life should get more normal. Congratulations to those of you working the plan. Encouragements to those of us who aren't. I guess it going to take at little while longer to get out of those numbers, but I think that I can get it down hopefully by the end of the year. Vickie 11-27-2008, 11:41 AM I'm not going to overeat but I am NOT telling what's going on my plate. Much of it will be Core but some will not. The bread dressing is first! coco99 11-27-2008, 08:26 PM Hi everyone Sorry I havent been on here. Didnt realize how long it has been since I was on here. Have alot of catching up to do. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. :happ3: We went to hubby's brother. Well I lost 2 lbs on Monday night. Our leader told us on Monday night. That on Dec 8. It was mandatory that we stay for the meeting. Or else would have to stay after one night. She seems excited about the new changes. But of course cant say what they are. Well I am going to get off here for now. And go check up on everyone. Just remember this was a "HOLIDAY" not a "HOLIWEEK". Have a wonderful evening everyone. Thinking of each of you. coco blessedwithsarah 11-28-2008, 10:04 AM Good morning ladies! Coco, congrats on the loss!!! Great way to start the week. Well, I made it through yesterday I think successfully. I did take a 45 minute walk in the am, had my breakfast and then enjoyed dinner at my SILs. Food wise, the worse thing I ate probably was the stuffing. The veggies were all simple- corn, acorn squash, mashed potatos, scalloped onions (I made them so theywere healthy!). I did have a few glasses of wine. I estimated what I had and for the day I was at 29 points -- 6 over my daily. But I got 4 activity points, so I ended up using just 2 of my WPAs. So, I'm happy. OH, that did include the small, small piece of pie! I'm still feeling very positive about doing flore - I can't wait to hear about the new plan. Maybe thats what we all need --- a new way to look at things. Well, got to get moving. Its Christmas decorating day! I refuse to go near a mall or store today, but I always put my tree up today. BBL ontarget 11-28-2008, 02:53 PM I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday whether you were celebrating Thanksgiving or not. We had a good day with family. My eating wasn't perfect, but it was much much better than it's been in the past. Coco, I have noticed you have had some good losses. How much have you lost now? Okay, chickies. It's a new day and a good day to make good choices. Let's get out there and do what we can. beach bum 11-28-2008, 02:54 PM Hi Ladies:) The supermarkets were empty this morning,we had a choice of cashiers.Looks like I was the only one not Christmas shopping on black Friday.:devil:One woman working in a NY dept store was trampled on and killed. You won't find me shopping on Black Friday. Everything is now back to normal,I put the TG decorations out side the house away and now trying to decide which Christmas:tree: decorations to go up,but like I said before we have to wait & see how Leo feels whether we go down to NY or not.If the answer is not, I'm have to get the whole downstairs decorated for the grandchildren when they come. This year Leo & I discussed our eating patterns for the holidays and we decided to NOT OVEREAT,so there was no bloating feeling. I bike exercised:e-bike: before & after the dinner,I don't want to be up to 172 like I was Last Christmas:tree:,its too HARD to lose and so EASY to gain. I'm down to 161 again and would like to get past to the 150's. COCO-Congrats :congrat: on your 2 lb weight loss, you going great. Please let us non meeting goes some idea when you know what the changes are. I would appreciate it as I left my meeting place severals months ago. PAULA-You did great with your eating plan I stayed with the point system even if we had core foods[except for the bread stuffing]Not putting up my Christmas:tree: decorations until I know what we're doing. Tejas 11-28-2008, 09:49 PM  I've had two very long days and the weekend is very busy. But, wanted to say hello. Doing reasonably well with the food and had a glass of wine at dinner. The first in over two weeks! Rhonda ontarget 11-28-2008, 10:25 PM Hi there. I'm just dropping by to say hi and wish you all a wonderfully restful weekend. Maryann, you're so right. It's much easier to gain than to lose. Congratulations on keeping your focus. beach bum 11-29-2008, 10:55 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Before During and After the TG holiday I did more exercise than ever to keep that holiday weight to a minimum. Don't want to gain back, like I was at the being of the year 172. Lost 11 lbs very slowly and I like to maintain if possible during the next holiday that on there way. RHONDA-Your doing so great on your goal for Christmas losing 5 lbs during this eating & drinking season proofs it can be done. SANDRA-Thanks like i posted above don't want to gain what took me so long to lose. Everyone have a great weekend, see you girls on Monday. pattygirl63 11-29-2008, 03:09 PM :wave:Hello Ladies, I haven't been here for a very long time. Just too many struggles with losing. Always fighting the same 4 lbs. going up and down and tried many different things that didn't work. I went back to TX the first part of November and was inspired by my sister, her daughter and her daughter's hubby who all do WW. He has made Lifetime the end October. I think they are all on Flex, but from what he told me he eats I'm thinking he must be doing Core with it. I came home so fired up that I started WW Flex immediately. I started on the 13th of Nov and I've been on it up until today. But I don't do really well with Flex because I end up eating things I shouldn't (junk, diet foods with low pts) and I realized that I'm tired of counting points, calories, carb etc. I think that when I first started WW in 2007 that I did Flore and I was losing weight. But, I was on the WW online and everyone was fussed (was rude about Flore) saying you were either doing Core or Flex, but there was no such thing as Flore. Wish I had found this group back then because I listened to them and I have gotten no where really. I've just struggled with the same lbs for all this time. I don't want it to go on like this any more. I want to find lose the 4 lbs and then go on. Rhonda - I love what you have on your signature "I'm going to lose 1 lb a week..." I think I need to make that my goal. Someone else has 10 lbs 15 times. What a wonderful way to look at things. Since I'm getting no where with Flex, yesterday I decided that I am ready to do Core so started it today. While I am interested in what new ideas WW is coming out with, I'm not sure I want to count pts any more. I'll have to wait and see what they come up with. I have been reading the threads here and I love the way this group encourages each other and is there for each other. I've always loved the principles of Core but just wasn't ready or sure I could do it. I believe I have the mindset for it now. I certainly hope we are able to keep the group as I want to be and I look forward to being a part of it again. I've learned a lot from your recent messages that I plan to include in my journey with Core. Hope everone has had a great Holiday. So glad you're here and glad I am too. Vickie 11-29-2008, 04:09 PM Trish, there isn't such a thing "officially" as Flore but we acknowledge it here. It's especially great when one eats like you did....I was the same. I wouldn't eat healthy foods but rather I'd save my points for junk and I'd always be starving. I'm going to hear the new program out but if it's not for me then I'll do the old Core. We're glad you're here too. I'm kind of lurking lately until I get my game back on. The others will make you feel VERY welcome. Tejas 11-29-2008, 05:36 PM :welcome2: Trish. Join me in the one pound a week goal if you'd like. You're right: this is a board with good and supportive people on it. Welcome aboard. Coco, good for you on that weight loss. Just keep on keeping on! And, you too, Maryann with the vow not to eat too much. I notice that I'm getting better at portion control as I try to reduce my daily calories. It's not as hard as it was in my mind. I've got a weakness for baked goods though! I'm preparing for our "ex-pat" Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. There'll be four Americans and one Canadian who has never even been to the US! Rhonda ontarget 11-29-2008, 06:12 PM :welcome: Trish. Your post gives me incentive. I need to get back on track. Vickie, I'm mainly reading here, too, struggling to get back op. Rhonda, enjoy your company. My bro and his family are coming over tomorrow for a visit. This will be their first time here. Curtis and I worked in the yard this afternoon spiffing things up a bit. (raking, etc...) Have a good evening, Chickies. I'll catch you tomorrow. coco99 11-29-2008, 08:49 PM Hi Everyone Hope everyone is doing ok. Getting rested up from Thursday. And all the shopping yesterday. Well I am down in the dumps. We had to put our kitty to sleep today. The vet thinks she had a stroke. So am really bummed. I didnt go shopping yesterday for the early bird specials. We were having a covered dish dinner at church. We decorated the church and then they ended up ordering pizza. But I had taken a big bowl of salad and some green beans. So was ok. Ate one slice of pizza though. Then today my son took me out to eat. Yesterday was my birthday. And I didnt want to eat out yesterday with the thing at church. So we went today. Went to Bob Evan's. Well I am going to get off here for now. Just thought I would check in. And I am wanting to eat. So thought I would get on here. My mind is on my kitty. But now she isnt suffering. But I still miss her. Hope everyone is doing ok. Thinking of each of you. coco pattygirl63 11-29-2008, 10:20 PM Thanks for the warm welcome. Rhonda - Yes, I will gladly join you in the 1 lb a week goal challenge. One of the things I like about Core is the having to get the water, fruits and veggies, dairy and fat in each day without having to eat a certain amount of points each day. I really enjoyed that today. I hope it will help get the scale moving down for me and keep going down. Enjoy your company tomorrow. Coco - :hug:So sorry about your cat. A real bummer here around your birthday. Hope you were able to have a good one any way. Sandra and Vickie - I understand the struggle. I too have been doing a lot more reading than writing too. I felt strange writing and not doing very well. Catch y'all tomorrow. Tejas 11-29-2008, 11:29 PM  Coco, I'm so sorry about your cat. But, it's the last kind thing we can do for them when they're sick. It's very hard to do and we do miss them. I miss my doggie Anna very much, and it's been over a year since we had to put her down. But, I do hope you enjoyed your birthday at least some. And, one piece of pizza never hurt us! It's good you ate mostly salad. Sandra, we're going to the friends' house. Right now, while DH is still working on the bathroom, the toilet is in the living room and the building materials are in the dining room! Rhonda Vickie 11-30-2008, 12:07 AM Happy Belated Birthday, Coco. I'm SO sorry for the loss of your kitty. I still miss my Cameo very much. What a hard thing to have happen so close to your birthday. I understand. I wish I could help. sammi861 11-30-2008, 01:16 AM Good evening lovelies! I went back to Chicago for Turkey Day w/ the fam and completely went off track. I didn't gain which is the good news (and a miracle!). I just got back to school a few hours ago and am starting to get back on track by working out. I even opted for the balance protein bar when I was on a layover in Detroit instead of grabbing fast food or chips. I had to switch concourses in the airport so I worked up a good sweat for 15 minutes. Happy Belated Bday Coco!! Hope the rest of you ladies are doing well :) http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar-pinknots/slider-situp/lb/215/140/163/.png (http://www.3fatchicks.com/) beach bum 11-30-2008, 09:48 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Had a very bad evening snacking on everything, today I back OP and hope to snack on steamed veggies instead. TRISH-Oh I remember you, that just the same time I started posting here Welcome:wecome2:back to the board. Sorry about that 4 lb yo yo I know what you went though as I have the same situation with 1 lb. I didn't like Flex either and so I switched to the core and happier that I did.Hated :devil:counting points and weighing & measuring. Hope they keep the core in this new program thats coming up. Shouldn't feel strange writing when you not doing well, we're all in the same boat rocking back & fort plus this is where you can feel free to get whats troubling you out in the open and maybe some how we could help with motivation & support. RHONDA-Have wonderful ex-TG with your American friends. SANDRA-Maybe if you posted we could help you get back to the core and you wouldn't have to struggle on your own. COCO-Sorry:sorry: to hear about your cat, I lost mine to feline cancer even though she was a indoor cat.Very heart breaking to lose a dear friend.Hope that you had a nice birthday even though those circumstances . SAMMI-Congrats on :carrot:maintaining :carrot: after a TG holiday,You did great. Have to go get ready for church TechAlum 11-30-2008, 02:26 PM Hello All, Sorry I haven't been around. Things were pretty hectic with the holiday and all. We went out to my folks for dinner Thursday and I have to say I think it was one of the worst holidays I've had (and saying a lot considering my family background). My sister was in rare form and got in 2 fights first with my other sister then my BIL, then dh over did the food/drink/nephew wrestling and ended up getting sick (literally), so we ended up staying longer than planned and didn't get home until after 11pm and I had to feed the dogs and sit up with them for a while....On a good note with all that I did not over eat or drink :D Friday we went to my BIL's to have dinner with DH's family, which actually turned out better than I expected, we didn't stay to long because dh was still recovering from the night before. Yesterday DH put up the Christmas lights outside, we had to go buy some first because last year we decided the old ones looked bad and needed to be replaced and promptly forgot about it :o. Unfortunately yesterday PMS settled in for a visit so I didn't eat terribly well, but I'm hanging in there. OK enough about my fun. Tomorrow DH visits the oncologist to get a plan for the chemo. Then it's his first day back to work. We'll see how it goes. I really need to get some stuff done around the house, we'll probably do the inside decorations next weekend. Coco - Happy Belated Birthday!!! :bravo: on the 1 lb loss. Sorry to hear about your cat, they are definitely part of our family. Rhonda - How was your x-pat party? Hope you had fun. Sandra and Vicki - Miss your long posts. Hang in there you'll get there. Paula - I'm sort of looking forward to the new plan also. Mary Ann - Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Sammi - Congrats on the maintain and the safe trip. Trish - Welcome! Well I should go grab lunch. Turkey sandwich :T Have a great day everyone  -Tech blessedwithsarah 11-30-2008, 04:46 PM Happy Sunday everyone. Its a quiet day here today - its also cold and raining. Saw my first snow flakes earlier today. DH and I had date night last night. We had a wonderful dinner and drinks. With the gift certificates my brother has given us over the past couple of years to this restaurant, we had it all covered, plus the tip, plus we got $25 back! Not a bad night at all. I did splurg and have the 2 pound baked stuffed lobster. It was devine. I did my best to estimate what I ate last night and I did use 18 points on dinner, so on my flore plan, I'm still OK for the day and I have over 30 wpas left until Wed. The scale was up slightly today but between the wine and tom....... should be back down by Wed for wi. I spent the morning planning my family party menu ( its 2 weeks from today). I feel organized! I have a good mix of core things that I can have and non core things that are not too bad. Coco, Happy Birthday and I'm sorry for the loss of your cat. Tech, sorry to hear of your holiday. I hope you can relax a bit soon. Please let us know what the plan will be for DH, keeping him in my prayers. Trish, Welcome to the board! Looking forward to getting to know you. Its a great group that posts here - very supportive and not critical in any way. Sammi, tomorrow is a new week. Start back on program. I hope you enjoyed your time away! Well off to do some on line shopping! BBL pattygirl63 11-30-2008, 06:34 PM Mary Ann - Thanks I remember you too. Prayed for you hubby many times. How is your hubby doing? From what I've read of your messages mentioning him it sounds like he is doing well. I hope so. My hubby had his surgery in June and they got all the cancer before it spread. Now he goes for tests periodically with hopes it doesn't return. And he deals with the other problems he has with check ups periodically for those too. Paula - Thanks for the welcome. I agree this is a great group. I'm totally enjoyed my 1st 2 days on Core. I always said I had to learn to eat a lot (didn't as a child) and now I'm learning with Core to eat more like I did as a child but healthier. Got to run. Catch y'all later. ontarget 11-30-2008, 08:06 PM Coco, I'm sorry about your cat. Rhonda is right. That was th elast kind thing yu could do for it. I'm going to :swim: tomorrow. The pool was closed today for the holidays. Rhonda, it's a good thing you're going to your friends'. Did Doyle get your toilet up and running yet? Bro and family were here today. We had a good visit then went to Olive Garden. I really wanted some wine but refrained--just had soup, salad, and breadsticks. Maryann, you are right about my needing to post. It's hard to explain why it's difficult when I'm off program, but it is. I'll work at it to get on here more often. Donna, :encore: on staying op during your holiday celebration. It sounds like you did a heck of a job considering what was going on around you. Reminds me of a WW quote: We can't always control what's going on around us, but we can control what goes into our mouths. You get an "atta-girl." Paula, your date sounds awesome. Makes me smile. Tejas 11-30-2008, 10:13 PM oowwwwwwwwwww, I have a tummy ache! I ate too much. I bet I gained back all the weight I lost. The:devil: made me do it! Well, the ex-pats, and the one Canadian born, had a great time eating, drinking and chatting about the world. Tech, that was quite a party. I hope DH has fully recovered. And, Sammi, good for you on your choices. Keep it going. I'll join you: right back OP as of now. Paula, we've got the cold and blowing icy rain tonight. I'm glad I'm not having to travel like so many people are. Have a great night all. Rhonda (No Sandra: the toilet is still in the living room. And, I forgot to mention that the bathroom sink is in the study! I HATE renovations!). Vickie 11-30-2008, 10:21 PM Meeeee toooooo! Mine will be over soon. ontarget 11-30-2008, 11:18 PM  Rhonda. I hope you get it all finished soon. Vickie, I understand. Me, too. beach bum 12-01-2008, 10:33 AM Good Morning Ladies:) Can't believe is Dec 1st.already.Not prepared to bring us in to next year the following year. Nothing new,but Leo's chemo port broke and now we are waiting for the doctor to call to let us know whats the story,if he has to have it removed and replaced. That mean another operation and some more recovery time. That leaves our Christmas plans hanging for a while. Some how we feel like a tidal wave is heading our way and we can't get out of it way. DONNA-Sorry that your TG turned out that way, glad it calmed down a little.Hope every thing works out the the oncologist.DH should be careful not to do too much when at work, but I gather you told him that. Thanks we had a happy & quite one eating & watching football. PAULA-We had frost and than it haled for a while. I guess you living further out on the Cape made a difference.Glad that you enjoyed you date night. You're doing wonderful still having your 30 WPA's left I used mine up I was lucky my new week started on Friday. TRISH-Leo was fine up to this point, with the broke port we have to ask the doctor what to do next. Thank Goodness he now in remission and no chemo is scheduled for him. His next cat scan will be in Jan. Happy to hear that he in remission also. You look like you doing good on the core. I like the plan also but my problem is portions. Its working a little now that I'm using a smaller plate and a 3 section one also. SANDRA-Happy to hear that you'll not be a stranger. Remember we are all in this together,as together we stand divided we fall. RHONDA-Sorry about your tummy ache, but I think we all did the same, with the exception of Paula .I thinK we should make her :queen QUEEN FOR THE DAY:QUEEN: vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
