wow thats nuts! i havent seen anything particularly crazy about weight loss, but my friend found a card in one of our health psych books advertising something that could "boost your immune system by 400%". Im pretty sure if your immune system was 400% more active you would have some kind of autoimmune disorder :P

Yeah, I think one of my legs weighs that much...too bad things like that weren't true! BUT you would probably gain it all back right away if you could lose that much so fast. Who knows?
Ah, another idea is maybe you can get Jillian as a personal trainer! Yep, it is possible then.

There's one on MySpace. It always pops up. It's for the Acai Berry Diet. It says lose 47 pounds in 2 weeks. Like that is even freaking possible! I feel bad for people that believe that.

In that movie Smart People the brother is out hanging up flyers that say "I lost 67 lbs in two weeks, ask me how!"
I about died laughing at that.

A member on another site I post on claimed to have lost 120 pounds in two months! Most there seriously questioned him and I have noticed he hasn't been back. People were asking him to post pics...which didn't happen.

I saw the same "lose 47 pounds by christmas" cover (yeah right! maybe if the magazine were from july!) and I was almost tempted to buy the magazine to see what plan they could possibly be advocating. The funny thing was that the magazine cover featured Christmas cookies. Yeah, sounds pretty diet conducive...

on facebook along the sides there's always a "get the supermodel diet" ad on the side.. its always a new one "the jessica simpson diet" was one. I'm just like if it was that easy to be as skinny as a supermodel you wouldn't have to advertise the diet for so long.

^^^Good point Kelli!

I would LITERALLY die if i lost 47 lbs. It's so bad to promote unhealthy weigh loss. do you think maybe that leads to some of the weight problems in our society? I'm sure it does.

LOL! My mom and sister and I always joke about the fact that every issue of all "women's" magazines must include at least 1 article about each of the following: new hairstyles, a new diet/exercise regimen (usually both!), and a ridiculously fattening dessert!

I'm shocked and appalled that any ad would claim that it's possible to lose 47 lbs in 2 weeks... That is completely ludicrous! Who would believe that kind of crap?! Oh, and speaking of dumb ads, this one always makes me crack a smile:

What a great way to lose weight... Give birth to the baby you've been carrying! And use the magical "weight loss tea," of course! Lol.
