According to a press release, researchers at the University of Exeter have found that a walk of just 15 minutes can reduce chocolate cravings.
.....

Taylor concludes in the article: "Short bouts of physical activity can help to regulate how energised and pleasant we feel, and with a sedentary lifestyle we may naturally turn to mood regulating behaviours such as eating chocolate. Accumulating 30 minutes of daily physical activity, with two 15 minute brisk walks, for example, not only provides general physical and mental health benefits but also may help to regulate our energy intake."

It's nice to read "just 15 minutes". That is doable and wee Disney would love it. The "brisk" could be a problem but my knee and I will work on that.

Thanks for sharing this! I have bad seasonal depression and getting out for a couple of bursts of sunshine would probably help my mood as well. It's so easy to resist it with snow and slush around the corner, so it's nice to be reminded that just 15 minutes will make a difference. Maybe I will make this my new year's resolution... and get started early!

Betsi, taking vitamin D will help the mood swings with the coming winter months! a friend of mine also bought a special kind of lamp and sits under that for fifteen minutes, which helps his mood swings (and trust me, this guy, I swear is meaner than any female going through PMS, Menopause or birth!

Ah, vitamin D! Thanks for the reminder, I had slacked off on taking it - it does help a lot! I do have a light, and use it for about 40 minutes depending on how overcast it is.
