Default Clothing Question . . .

I have a very bad sense of style so bare with me. I bought these dark tan cargo style pants that I bought because when I was in the store I thought they were super cute but now it's been a month and I haven't wore them because I can't figure out what they would match. Any suggestions of what colors to wear with them?

how dark of tan are we talking? Tan in general is a neutral and will go with anything... except extremely bright colors. Blues work really well with browns and so do light pinks. Also try a fun print to snazz up the neutral cargos. Hope this helps. I love giving fashion advice!

A simple olive green shirt usually looks amazing with tan cargo pants, but I can't be sure without knowing the exact shade. Maybe navy?

You live in Detroit, and winter months are upon us midwesterners, so white tank tops are basically out of the question.

I would also say white or off white would be best. Since they're cargo style, I'd probably match them with a more feminine looking sweater to kind of offset the ruggedness. A turtleneck would be cute, or a nice cardigan.

Actually, if they are more like a dark khaki you could easily wear black with them as well.. just depends on the shade of the pants.

Honestly, I think any color would go, including brights. Style-wise, simple tee variations and sweaters are easy ways to go. But something feminine could like real cute with them too.

ooo no wifebeaters with cargos. That's super tom-boy...unless it's a girly wifebeater with a cute print...probably layered even. thermal tops are cute... or a nice, soft sweater. As far as color choices, take the pants to the store with you. A salesperson can help for sure!

I know it's pretty fashionable in California to wear cargo pants with black t-shirt, and black jackets.

I personally would wear it with a black t-shirt, a black Eskimo jacket (the ones with the tan furry hood linings), and some sort of coordinating earrings.

Tan cargo pants (or cargo pants in general) are my version of jeans. Just about anything goes with!

I just love pockets. Show me a shirt with pockets on the front (towards the bottom, not a chest pocket) and I'm there.

just avoid something that's really similar to the colour of the pant, the same colour or probably demin. I agree that a rich colour like maroon or teal like some of the people suggested would be nice. Greens tend to go well.
