Susan, I'll remember that at New Year's about giving up smoking. lol That's something I wouldn't have problems with either!!

Yesterday my temp was up, coughing and sneezing, and just miserable. I didn't go to the Y for any of the classes, didn't meet with the retired teachers for dinner, didn't meet a friend last night for a beer or a pop. Pretty exciting day! I hope I do better today. I'm starting an antibiotic this morning because pretty sure it's a sinus infection. This weekend is an Emmaus Weekend at the church, and I am supposed to be helping in the kitchen. I don't think they'll want me sneezing and coughing on the food, so I'll help somewhere else.

Tim called twice yesterday! He calls sometimes, but mostly sends text messages. For him to call twice in one day, I knew it was serious business. The first call he told me about a show he watched Tues. night about a rookie policeman. The guy hadn't been with the dept. long, had recently proposed to his gf, and he was killed on a routine call. That had Tim totally shook. He was having serious doubts about going into that line of work. I know he had gone to a recruiting session with Dayton (OH) police, and he really liked the pay, benefits, etc. Lots of crime in Dayton, and I was really concerned about that.

When he called again last night, he was feeling much better. He has given up the Dayton idea. Thank you God!!! He has decided to go for a smaller town to get experience, then move to a city, but not a large one. The pay won't be as much, BUT he'll be happier hopefully. He still has another year of school (should finish August 2009), so he has time to think more about things.

And Lauren is considering changing her major! She is in psychology, and she has decided that maybe that's not what she wants to do. She is checking into business/accounting classes & will probably make the switch next semester. I know her major has been a concern for Tim and for her mom, so this is a good thing! She loves math, so getting into accounting should be better for her.

Have any of you ever done Yoga? I had my second class on Monday. It was easier than the first week, but it is still tough. At the end of the class I was talking to a couple of women plus the instructor, and I started crying! Not just crying, but sobbing! The instructor told me that is absolutely normal if someone is going through some tough times. I then told them about Bob, and all of them started crying! Oh my! I plan to keep it up for this session, and if it is offered again after the first of the year, I just might do it again.

Hope you all have a great day! It's the beginning of November, and it has been in the mid-70's to 80 this week in Ohio!!! Probably have a terrible snowy icy winter ahead of us.

11-06-2008, 12:06 PM
Happy Thursday!
Tammy, thanks so much for starting us off this time.

I've never tried yoga. My sister did and gave it up after a couple of sessions. It was too painful for her.
Tim-----I am sooooo glad he's going to start in a smaller place. There's still crime but it's a small place without all the gang bangers. :)
It's good that Lauren is changing from psychology because that takes lots of years of study and then it's hard to find a job.

I had a flu shot yesterday afternoon. Wow!!!!! My arm ached and hurt the rest of the day. It's still sore this morning. That's the first time it's done that. I went to a grocery store and a pharmacist gave it. I'm never going back there again. I'll go to the doctor's office. Then, I can call them and whine and complain.

11-06-2008, 11:06 PM
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all doing well.

Tammy, Sorry you aren't feeling well. I have done Yoga and I really liked it. It's harder than it looks. Glad that Tim has decided Dayton is not an option.

Tina, I get a flu shot every year. Pat doesn't, I do. We get them at school for free. My arm always aches and sometimes I run a little fever. I didn't have any problems this year. Pat ended up getting one this year, I was surprised.

We had our homecoming parade last night. It was at 6:30 and too dark since the time change. It was still fun!! The kids had a blast.

11-07-2008, 10:37 AM
Happy Friday, :D

I'm going out to walk in a few minutes. Got to get in some exercise in this beautiful weather.
Tammy, how is your sinus infection going? I hope it is going!
Susan, please explain about that homecoming parade. How many were in it and what did y'all do?
Dori, did you get all moved? You can lose weight because I have faith in you!
Jeanne, you are quiet. How is your daughter and her friends? Is the Halloween candy on sale now?
Kam, where are you, girl?
Maureen, when is the Canadian Thanksgiving?

11-07-2008, 01:22 PM
Hi all,
I used to post here what seems like months ago, but was only a few weeks ago, and I cant find any of the people I used to talk to, can I join you all instead??

Hope everyones day is going well Jen x

11-07-2008, 01:44 PM
Hello Everyone!

Tina - We are having beautiful weather here too! I weighed in a couple of days ago and have put on ....... like 11#!:( I'm just disgusted by it too! I got back at it yesterday, but by night time..........I had given into my evening urges to eat! Urghhhhh! Today is going ok. Tho.......as soon as I walked into work this morning - I ate chocolate. It's a tough job....but....somebody's got to do it!:dizzy:

Tammy - Hi! So glad to "see" you out and about! I think of you sooooo often! So glad to hear that Tim is thinking about another location. I worked for two of our local PD's........one for 6 years and the other for 2 years. I loved my job, but of course I wasn't out in the field or anything. In my 8 years, we only had one officer hurt in the line of duty. Can you believe this weather?!?!?!?

Maureen - Happy belated Thanksgiving! :thanks2: I work with a gril from Canada! Her husband came here for his job. I love her! She has actually become my best friend!!! Hope things are going well for you!

Dori - Hi! Hows the moving and school going?

Jenosaurus - Hello and a great big welcome to you! :welcome2::welcome3:

Well girls.........gotta scoot! I'm on lunch break (*I ate chicken salad on FF crackers, an apple and a bottle of water. I brought two clementines for my snack later) Wish me luck! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!:crossed:

11-08-2008, 10:33 AM
Hi girls! Down 2# since my 11# WI on Thursday! Yay! Thats all it gets is a Yay because I don't want to ginx myself with the little dancing carrot! haha~!

Have a great w/e............it's Hallmark Open House so if ya all have any ornaments or cards to get and you live by a Hallmark - they are giving away goodies today and tommorow! Go! :D

11-08-2008, 10:54 AM
Jeanne--great minds--I'm on my to a Hallmark store this morning!
BTW-shhh....(congratulations on that loss) .....I'm trying to be quiet and not jinx you.

11-09-2008, 10:22 AM

Well after a long self absorbed pitty party for myself.......:?:(did that make any sense?) well anyways.........I worked hard yesterday to stay OP. Got up today, focused on some house work and took a hard brisk walk outside. I went I think 6 blocks, but I zig zagged up and down each one to get a longer walk. It was lonnnnnnnng over due. I feel so refreshed right now.

The last forum I was on did a Christmas Card exchange. We PM'd our address to one girl and then she made one list and forwarded it to the rest of the girls...........would you guys be interested? It was a lot of fun to get the cards! Let me know what cha' think.

11-09-2008, 04:07 PM
I like walking outside, when the weather isn't too hot.

I don't give out my home address.

11-09-2008, 04:51 PM
Tina, the yoga does hurt in some of the positions, but I noticed that the 2nd week was much better than the first, so apparently it is doing some good?? I hope so!! I had a flu shot once. I was sicker that year than I had ever been, so I've never had one since. My sinus infection is getting better. Glad the medicine is helping. I'm still coughing alot though.

Welcome to jenosaurus!!!!

Jeanne, I had intended to hit Hallmark this weekend, but never made it. Count me out for the Christmas cards at least for this year. I told Tim that I don't even know if I want a tree this year.

I'm heading to the church for the closing ceremony for the Emmaus Walk from this weekend soon, so I need to get going.

11-09-2008, 07:54 PM
Hi all,
Thanks for all the welcomes!
I feel so bad for not getting out and walking, especially hearing that everyone else did so well!!
But I did work 26 out of the last 48 hours, so I was just ever so slightly busy :)
But just have to work on tomorrow now, well at least Ill have my dance class tomorrow. That will count for something.!!
Has anybody got a goal they want to reach by Christmas, or am I the only one that does that :).
Anyway Im off to bed. Hope to talk to you all soon

11-09-2008, 08:44 PM
Wow, you have been busy at work! You'll have to rest up tonight.
Dance--that will count for a lot!!!

A Christmas goal sounds like fun. Okay, mine will be to lose 6 more pounds.

11-09-2008, 08:50 PM
Jen, sounds like you are working way too many hours!! Wow! Your dance class sounds like fun!! Enjoy! I really don't have a specific goal yet. Maybe I should set a small one and see how it goes.

Tomorrow I have aerobics, yoga, and water aerobics. Glad there is some time to rest up between the first two!!

It is sleeting. I don't like this!!!!!

11-10-2008, 12:09 AM
Wow, Tammy, what a busy day you'll have.
Please be safe in that weather.

11-10-2008, 09:02 AM
Morning ladies! Hope you all had a great weekend. I stayed OP all w/e and got in my walking! I lost 2 more pounds. Thats 4# since Thursday.:carrot: Ok, I get the dancing carrot! haha!

Tina - Hi! Did you get to Hallmark? Wow.......what a nice bag of things you got if you spent $40!!!!! I was quite impressed! I love Christmas!

Tammy - Sleet? Ewwwww! I believe it though I didn't see it. This morning 6:00 a.m. Kaitlin took Bob to work and she wiped out big time on the porch steps.........a total sheet of ice! Urgh! You are busy today! You go girl!;)

Jen - Thats a lot of hours!!! My husband works like crazy too! What do you do?
My daughter dances? Is there a certain dance class you take?
Oh........and I'm in on the Christmas goal! I want to loose 10# - thats 6 more!

Hey a big shout out to Dori, Susan, Maureen & Kam!!! Hope you are all well!

Well ladies, have a great day!!!

11-10-2008, 10:52 AM
Well, my day wasn't so busy after all! I woke up when the phone rang at 9:00! So much for the 8:00 aerobics class!!! I never heard the radio come on.

Jeanne, good for you on the loss! I am really not ready for the cold and ice. Yucky!!

After this weekend of being on the run and grabbing whatever to eat, I decided to get weighed this morning and see what the damage was. I gained back the 1/2 pound that I had lost, so I am pleased!!! lol I really expected it to be much worse. Now to get it off and another 1/2 by Thursday!

Hope you all have a great OP day and week!

11-10-2008, 11:19 AM
Morning all,
Wow, cold weather and sleet. Ouch! to Katlin. I hope she isn't all bruised up. :(
Yes, I made it the a Hallmark store. Wow, they had mulled cider, juice, fruit and sweet rolls at the front door. I bought some really cute things.
One thing they have is a ceramic gingerbread house. The lights on it look like jelly beans. When you push the door bell, the jelly beans light up in sequence and it plays a tune. Darling!

Tammy, you needed the sleep.

Y'all are doing great losing pounds. I didn't dare get on the scales this morning. I had Chinese this weekend. :o

Susan, are you sick? I hope not.
Dori, Kam, Jen, I hope y'all have a great day.

Maureen, what's going on up there?????????

11-10-2008, 11:39 AM
im a supervisor in a movie theatre. using it as a stepping stone at the minute.. to shat idont know, but with all economies the way they are im thankful to have a job :)
Im also gonna start a degree in criminology :)
My christmas goal was 2 stone which equates to 28 pounds, looks like i should have it before christmas though!
As for dance classes i do hip hop. I used to do it as a kid, but then work coincided with that when i was 16 an that was the end of it.
but my boss now has no problem giving me the times off for dancing, which is brilliant .
Hope everyone is doing well :)

11-10-2008, 12:20 PM
Hi Jen! Kaitlin does hip hop! She LOVES it! She also does Pointe Ballet and Ballet. She has danced for years and in the past it has been jazz and tap. But she gave it up for hip hop! :D

11-10-2008, 02:20 PM
how old is she?? I used to do more ballroom stuff like tango and cha cha etc, like come dancing type of stuff when i was younger, and disco. But like i sed i had to give it up. But im back now and loving it more than ever :)

good morning all-Well I have the day off for Remembrance Day-woke up and looked outside to see snow!! It looks nice but I don't want to see it. I'm really looking forward to going to Ottawa in December-while I'm there I'm going to look around and feel out the job market. I think I'll set up some interviews before I go.
Welcome aboard Jen. You sound like you work a lot too-I can relate I work two jobs so I'm working about 12 hours a day monday to friday. Where abouts in Ireland are you? I had the good fortune to go to Belfast in April. I'd never been overseas before but the people I work for are from Armaugh. I did get to see a lot of your beautiful country in the short time i was there. I'll just have to go back and see some more.

Have a great day all

11-11-2008, 02:28 PM
Hello all. Moving is done and now we're unpacking and getting settled in. Things are okay. I want to lose the weight, but seem to be unwilling to do what needs to be done. I don't know what is wrong with me. I mean heck I'm tired of being overweight and know that things are only going to get worse if I continue on the same track. Being an emotional eater doesn't help either. I honestly think that I like having pity parties and therefore continue to do what I've done in the past. I need some awesome encouragement and inspiration as well as a good, hard kick in the behind.

11-11-2008, 04:25 PM
I just heard that WW is bringing out a new plan for us. It's the first new one in several years. The week of December 7th is supposed to be The Week.
I'm definitely going to a meeting that week.

Dori, I'm glad you're moved. Unpacking will take time, I'm sure.
You can lose weight!!!!! I know you can do it.!

Maureen, snow looks pretty but you can keep it.

I hope everyone has a great week.

11-12-2008, 12:58 PM
Like I said, there's supposed to be something new added to the WW information, beginning Dec. 7th. I've looked around the threads and someone is talking about Core being changed. Who knows. We'll just have to wait.

How is everyone doing?

Susan, you are way too quiet, my friend.

11-12-2008, 01:36 PM
Hi ladies! Wooooosh!! I raked the leaves, mowed the grass and raked the grass, then I tore apart the porches, cleaned them and put "it" all away until Spring! I sure hope that counts for some calorie burning. Now, for whatever reason, I am cleaning out the desk drawers! I dunno! I must have gotten a boost with that 4# loss! I'm anxious to get on the scales tom. morning! I can't believe I just said that "I'm anxious to get on the scales tom."

Well, I have had a great week and remained OP and positive! I hope the same for all of you.

Dori - I sooooo relate to the emotional eating thing! I'm there! I put that last 11# on in less than a month because of some "life" issues!
So glad that you got moved and unpacking is going good. You can loose weight! I have faith in you! Is there anything we can do to help?!?!?!?

Maureen - Hello! I'm with Tina on the snow thing..........please keep it!
We have already had some flurries and cold days, but no accumulation! My car is in the garage today, I'm getting an automatic car starter installed. Yipppeee. I can't wait. We don't have a garage and since we are not moving now ........ No more scraping and and cleaning off the car in my good clothes every morning!

jen - Kaitlin will be 17 in March! She is my baby! haha! I'm glad you are getting back at it! I think it is an awesome "sport" to watch!

Tammy - YOu slept through the alarm? Good for you! You must have needed that rest! Stay warm. Although I hear we are suppose to be in the 50's and maybe even 60 before the end of the weekend anyways???????!!!!?!?!?

Tina - Hi! If you hear anything about that WW program.......let us know!

Well ladies - have a great day! Stay OP - Drink some water - and yea - shake those bootys!

11-12-2008, 05:24 PM
It's little ole me again. :D

I was looking through the WW recipes and found something that sounds sooooo good! It's 2 Point Pumpkin Squares.
It uses angel food cake mix, a can of pumpkin and water. I'm going to try it tonight.
I'll let everyone know if it's worth fixing. :)

11-13-2008, 12:01 AM

Ok sorry for being MIA. It's been a week and it's only Wednesday. Saturday night went to see Pat's band play. He picked up his car from the shop that morning, only to have cost $900. We get home and he says, they didn't fix it. Friday, all of the transmission fluid drained out of it, by way of a whole in the pan. We take it back in EARLY Monday morning, they still have it!!!!! We are carpooling. So I pick him up today and he says "I need a new transmission, it's gonna be $4000" UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Not like we can go without a car, plus he doesn't want a rebuilt transmission.

11-13-2008, 10:48 AM
Oh my, Susan, I'm sorry about the car trouble. $4,000, WoW!!!
You're right that we can't do without our cars.

11-13-2008, 02:59 PM
Susan - Oh my stars. I would faint and fall over and it cost $4000 to have my car fixed. That stinks big time.

Jeanne - I'm sure you burned some calories with all the work you did. Congrats on staying OP and being positive.

Tina - Let us know how the Pumpkin Squares were.

Back to work now.

11-13-2008, 03:26 PM
These pumpkin squares are delicious!!!!!

Preheat oven at 350.
Mix together, one box of angel food cake mix with one can of pure pumpkin and 1/4 cup of water.
Pour into a 9 x 13 pan (I used Pam on the bottom of the pan)
and cook for about 35 minutes.
Cut into 12 even squares.
2 points each square!

11-13-2008, 11:10 PM
Tina-what flavour of angel food cake do you use?

11-13-2008, 11:26 PM
Hi Everyone,
Nothing new here. We are waiting for the insurance company to go to the car dealer to check Pat's transmission. If they can prove that it's from the road damage, it will be covered. I hope it is!!!!!

Did I tell you that my doctor wants me to go to a foot specialist not a podriatist for my surgery? So I have to call that doctor. Oh and I got my glasses, Pat keeps asking am I trying to be Sarah Palin. I've just laughed.

11-14-2008, 12:03 AM
Maureen, here we just have one flavor of angel food cake. It's white. :)
I hope that helps.
That recipe really is good.

maureen kempster
11-14-2008, 08:33 AM
thanks Tina-I'll try it this weekend

11-14-2008, 04:42 PM
Hi! Just a quick fly by to say hi and wish everyone a great weekend!

PS - Tina - I'm going to try the pumpkin sqs. this weekend! Thanks;)

11-16-2008, 12:58 AM
Happy Weekend everyone
I'm anxious to hear if anyone made the pumpkin squares.
2 points is a pretty good dessert. What did you think? Were they too "cakey tasting"

11-16-2008, 11:36 AM
Hi Tina! I'm headed to the grocery store now. I'm going to get the ingredients I need and I'll let cha' know what "we" think!

11-16-2008, 04:25 PM
Hello All
Well, I went to weigh in yesterday morning and it was an eye opener!! I've gained about 25 lbs in a year-so I'm glad I went because I'm now going to try one day at a time to lose this weight-I've had all my water today and I'm writing everything down that I put into my big mouth-
Tina, I made those squares and they are really good-I'm going to find some recipes for muffins-I like to freeze them and take one to work as a snack-they're usually filling.
So, again I'm going to give this program another try-I hate myself like this

have a great day on program

11-16-2008, 05:48 PM
Maureen, good for you for getting back OP. :cp:
Wow, you've drunk all your water. I haven't done that yet.

Please let us know if you find some good muffin recipes.

Susan, how are you feeling?
Tammy, did you ever get completely over your sinus infection?
Dori, tell us about your new house.
Jeanne, did you get to the store?
Kam, what's going on with you?
Jen, is it cold there? How long are your dance classes?

It's really cool here today. I wore slacks to church. That was funny. I have a pair size 14 that are waaaay to big. The size 12 fit like an 8. Crazy! I wore the 14 and an over-blouse so no one could see how baggy they looked.

Everyone have a great rest of the day and a good Monday.

11-18-2008, 11:25 AM
Greetings friends!
It's such a beautiful day here. It's a little too cool for my taste to be walking outside. I'll try to do that later on.

Susan, you are way too quiet. Love ya, girl.

 Tammy, how are you feeling?

Dori, are you stuck under your moving boxes?

Jen, how are you?

Maureen, have you found any muffin recipes yet? I'd love to have one for a snack. We've eaten all the pumpkin squares. I'm not sure if I want to make more right now. I'm trying to lose before Turkey Day. :D

Jeanne, how is work? How is your daughters friend and his son?

Question-----what is your favorite cold weather dish?????
One of mine is chilli. I'll post a recipe.

11-18-2008, 01:44 PM
Hi Ladies! Busy here! Work.............We are having our Holiday Open House this Saturday...so I have to have both stores ready! I just came back to eat some lunch and thought I'd check in.

Tina - I did make the pumpkin squares.......so easy..........and we loved them. I'm making them Sunday too as we are having Thanksgiving at our house then. Bob is on a double (7a.m.-3p.m. and then 3:p.m.-11-p.m.) on Thanksgiving Day. :(

Favorite Cold Weather Dish.............gouloush! (I probably mispelled that)!

Gotta run! Have a great day and stay warm! Burrrrrrrrrr!

Tammy - I heard your area is under several inches of snow. Urgh! We only got a couple of inches and it didn't really stick. We had some slippery roads this morning though!

11-20-2008, 07:26 AM
OK. I'm doing it again. I said I'd post more often, and I have been crappy with doing that. Sorry!!!

News about Tim. Again. He called me Mon. morning, and I knew that he was upset. I thought at the end of the call, that he was going to quit school. He is overwhelmed with the extra classwork that he had to do since the internship was moved up a semester. He also admitted that Bob's death is affecting him more than he let me know. He didn't want to worry me. We were both crying through most of the call. We met halfway later that afternoon for a couple of hours and talked. I think we came to a good compromise. He is going to move home at the end of this semester. He will still take classes 2 or 3 days a week and commute. He also might take online class or two. He plans to get a parttime job. He is so close to completing his schooling and having his bach. degree. I was so afraid he would just give up, so I feel good about the plan. I hope it works out.

I've still been doing my Y classes. I've been writing down my foods, drinking my water, and my weight hasn't budged. I was so disappointed this morning when I weighed.

Susan, I can imagine how upset you guys are about Pat's car! $4000 is awful!

Tina, I want to try those pumpking squares. Might make them and take them for our family Thanksgiving next week. I think I am finally over the sinus infection, but now I'm coughing again. It never ends.

Maureen, you can do it!!! You'll get that 25 pounds off in no time! Just take off on those roller blades!

I'm with Tina on the chili. I think I might pick up the ingredients and make some! Yummy!! Jeanne, Tim would be with you on the goulash. He loves it.

Jeanne, that bigger snow was in northern Ohio. We've had some, but nothing major yet.

I have no classes at the Y today! It's nice not having to be somewhere. Ha. I am going into my friend's classroom later this afternoon to help her out. She gets behind sometime, and I go in to help rescue her. That's what friends are for, right?

I think I might go back to bed for a while. Got up at 5:30 with Maurice, and he's already back in his bed. I should take his advice.

Have a great day!

11-21-2008, 11:50 AM
Morning all,
Tammy, it's good to see you here. :) I really miss you.
It's sooo good that you and Tim got to "let it all out" together. Tim is the sweetest thing trying to keep it in so you didn't worry about him.
What does Lauren think about his decision?

Susan, how are you doing? Did the insurance pay for Pat's car repairs?

Dori, you are too quiet. We're here to give support and kicks in "you know where."
Jeanne, what candy are y'all selling at your open houses? Is it turkey shaped?
Jen, what's up?
Maureen, do you have any muffin recipes?

It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm getting a little nervous. So many things to clean, so many things to cook--not to mention so many things to eat!
Everyone have a great day!

11-22-2008, 12:46 PM
Request for Photos
I want to make a new Thursday Photo Thread. We have so many old, old, old photos. So many are of people who do not post here now.
Have you looked at how many times people look at this thread? Right now, it's 10,827 views!
I'd like to freshen it up.
So, Please give me a photo of yourself. If you don't have my e-mail address, just PM me.

11-24-2008, 10:21 AM
Whew ladies. Things have been busy and I'm still not back OP. It's very disheartening, but I know that I have to be the one to make the necessary changes. I just need to stop procrastinating and do it. Man oh man. We're at my in-laws for the holidays and I'm really enjoying myself this time. Today and tomorrow are a little boring because my brother in-law has school and my mother in-law has work. My husband, son, and FIL have gone to the river in order to get things ready for Thursday. It's just Teresa and I. She's watching tv and I should be starting on my homework that it way past due. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. ;)

11-24-2008, 12:40 PM
Tina, what size is the can of pumpkin that you use for that? I'm guessing that it's the 15 oz. can. That's what I used when I used to put pumpkin with a spice cake mix. I usually made muffins with it. I know some people who have used pumpkin with chocolate cake mixes too. (weight watcher stuff)

Lauren is fine with Tim's decision about moving home and finishing by commuting or online. Right now, she is planning to change her major, and it sounds like she might be moving home and attending a community college and getting her associates degree.

Dori, hope you were able to get started on that homework! We could come and help!!!

11-24-2008, 01:28 PM
Happy Monday everyone :) :) :)

Yes, the canned pumpkin is 15 oz.
Tammy, would you please send me that recipe for the pumpkin and the spice cake. I bought a box of spice cake mix but can't find the recipe. I've never made it. How did you like it?????

Dori, it sounds like you're having a nice holiday.
Susan, how are you doing???
Jeanne, you are quiet. :)
Maureen, how are you?
Jen, what is your weather like right now? Is it raining a lot. I'd imagine that would cut down on exercising outside.....just your dance.
I went to the store this morning for a few last minute items. It was almost impossible to get a cart around in the produce area.
I love this time of year!

Tina, the recipe is the same as the one with the angel food cake. I really liked them, and so does one of my uncles!! I'm thinking of taking the spice pumpkin muffins for Thanksgiving now that I remembered it!! I did buy an angel food cake mix though to give that a try.

Yoga went well tonight! I am getting more limber, and she is SO HELPFUL!!!!! No water aerobics tonight because the teacher is sick.

I need to hit the store tomorrow for a few things.

I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I think I did well on all of my food choices, and I didn't feel totally stuffed, so I thought that was a good sign.

Did anyone hit the stores early this morning? I sure didn't. Sleep was more important!!

A couple weekends ago when Tim was here while I was gone, he had taken Maurice out and he could smell gas. He called Vectren (gas people), and they sent a tech. out to check things out. He couldn't find anything, but he told Tim to call if he noticed it again. He said they would rather come out many times for a false alarm then not receive the call and something happen.

Last night when I had Maurice out, I smelled it. Immediate headache. Tim called Vectren again, and they sent someone out. It was after midnight before the tech packed up everything, and he didn't find anything either. He even checked a few of the homes around us. He told us that the odor has to be coming from somewhere else, because he checked our house inside and out. He didn't find anything at the closest neighbors either, so that's a relief.

Plan to get together sometime at my brother's house today and take Maurice. My niece and her hubby are there with their 2 dogs, and we want to get them all together just to see how they get along. They will be headed back to Pittsburgh tomorrow morning.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Happy Friday to all,
I think it's ridiculous to call it "Black Friday." Larry explained the meaning, the retailers wanted to get into the Black.

No, I didn't get up at 4 a.m. or even 7 a.m. I slept in until 8:15!
We did go over to Super Target awhile ago. They have some DVDs on sale for only $13.00. We got our twin great-nephews "Ironman" and the latest "Indiana Jones." My great-neice wants gift cards so I can pick one.

I wasn't stuffed last night, either. I did not count points but I didn't take seconds of everything. :D
We are having a Rerun tonight. We take things to my sister's house but I also cook our own turkey and all the sides.
Everyone stay safe out there.

Good morning all-just a quick note-I just got back from weigh in and I'm down another 3 lbs!!!-this is encouraging-all i'm doing is journalizing and staying within my points-I also try and get at least a 30 min walk everyday.
Well, I changed my mind again and I am moving to Ottawa on the 18th-I have a moving company coming in today to get my boxes and I'll store them at my brother's until I find a place.
I'm looking at this as another adventure and at my age I don't have too many left so I might as well enjoy it.

take care

Morning everyone! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! As you know, Bob worked! So, the girls and I just hung out in our pj's all day and made homemade (we didn't count points that day...haha) pizza and watched chick flicks! It was nice. Very relaxing!

Black Friday..............hmmmmmmm, I see your point Tina..........however.......for those of us that depend on retail for our income, this is a chance to get back what we have lost. We look forward to 4th quarter, if we are in the RED we definately have to find a way into the BLACk. And.......we share all kinds of savings with the consumers. HOWEVER......let me add........if my job didn't depend on it.........I sure the heck wouldn't be out there at 4:00 a.m. to shop the "deals".....thats crazy! And........look at that Wal-Mart employee that got stampled to death opening the doors for the customers. THAT MAKES ME SO STINKING FURIOUS! What an awful thing to happen............what could customers need that bad to act like that?!?!?!?!?

Oh well.........enough of that!

Tina - I got Bob Iron Man and Indiana Jones too! I love Super Target!

Tammy - So glad to hear that the gas issues wasn't at your house! That could have been a huge inconv. for you!

Maureen - Thank you. And Good Luck with your move. I'm sure you've made the right choice. And Congrats on that 3# loss!

Hi Dori!

Well gotta scoot. I'm doing Christmas cards today and then some house cleaning and laundry! Everyone have a great day!

Hello all. We are finally back home from spending the holidays with Justin's family. It wasn't the best Thanksgiving, but then again it could have been worst then what it was. Once again I'm not back OP but I haven't been bad at overeating. I'm starting back up tomorrow and hoping to be down 10 lbs by my birthday (February 6th). We'll see what happens.

I'm not feeling that well. Justin and I went Christmas shopping yesterday and on the way home I got sick. I came straight home went to bad at 7:30 and didn't wake up until 9:30 this morning. I'm still not feeling well though. Sigh. I'm hoping I will be feeling better by this afternoon because I return back to work tomorrow.

Hi all,
I'm ready to get "back to normal"--whatever that may be.

Tammy, that's scary about the gas smell. Have you had it again? After Hurricane Ike, there was a gas leak about 3 streets over. The smell was horrible, even that far away. There were gas co. trucks and fire trucks coming from everywhere to fix it.

Dori, I'm so sorry you feel bad. I guess eating different things and maybe even stress could've aggravated things. Feel better fast!!!

Jeanne, I'm so sorry your husband had to work. Boy, that's a bummer. What chick flicks did y'all watch?
I hope your stores have done a great business this weekend!

Susan, where are you and how is that foot?

Maureen, I agree with everyone else that you've made a wise choice. You have family to help you.

Jen, how are you?

I'm looking forward to the new WW program. It's being unveiled Dec. 7th week.

Maureen, that's great about the 3 pounds, and I think it is great about the move also! An exciting adventure!!

Jeanne, I agree with you about that poor man at Wal Mart. Things aren't that important!

Dori, sorry about the not so good Thanksgiving, and I'm really sorry that you aren't feeling well! Hope you are much better soon.

Tina, we didn't notice the smell of gas anymore over the weekend. I hope I don't smell it again. I won't be heading to a WW meeting, so let me know what the changes are.
