Unhappy What do I do?

Ok, I did something stupid, and ate a lot of calories really early in the day. I blame church - I am always famished when I leave. And I was enticed by eating out. I blame myself, but still...Anyway, my bestie & I went to Chili's for lunch & at this point I have eaten 1020 calories out of my 1700 alotted & we are at 1:20pm. What should I do? I could go get some bell peppers because there is like nothing in those & drink a lot of water...

Any suggestions?

i might be missing something, but that doesnt sound too bad? If your dinner is about 500 calories, then you still have about 200 for anything extra if you need lunch.

What should you do? Nothing.

Eat your regular snacks and dinner just like you always do, drink lots of water, and continue on with eating healthily. Just like normal.

You ate too much at one meal. Acknowledge it and let it go. Life goes on.

It's definitely not a crisis, but I'm just afraid I'll be starving by the end of the day. I usually eat meagerly for the first part of the day & then I have like 1000 calories left at around this time for the rest of the day.

I guess I just freaked out! =)

I agree with what has been said above. Remember, even if you would eat about 2000 calories, it isn't a disaster either. It just means that you are going a day without a calorie deficit, so that you won't lose anything today. Well, you always have tomorrow to do it better, right? It's weekend! If you feel really bad about it you could always do some more exercise. I'd rather not "punish" yourself by eating very little for the rest of the day. That only leads to craving, snacking etc.

700 calories is more than enough for a decent evening meal. I'd go for something very filling with not so many calories, soup from pureed vegetables, for example (bell peppers are an option to do this with).

oh i see, well you could always measure out 200 calories of snacks for during the day until dinner, maybe some nuts, pieces of fruit etc, that you can have and still have enough room for a decent sized dinner. Elwing is right, going over isnt going to ruin your diet

If you're used to eating meagerly throughout the first part of the day, and allowing yourself 1,000 calories for the rest of the day, you could do an "upside down" day-- having breakfast for dinner, etc (I love breakfast for dinner days )

Do you let yourself have "heavy days" to boost your metabolism? This would be a good excuse for one. Keeping the next couple of meals light with high fiber and protein could help you feel full without eating way too many calories (eg salad with some boneless/skinless chicken breast on top).
