Default calorie counting making a slight difference

Started counting calories about 20 days ago (staying below 1500) and I've lost 5 pounds so far! Started at 151.6 and I'm down to 146.6 as of today I know it's not a lot, but it's a start. Looking to get down to 130 at least, so I'm hoping this slow-but-sure-progress stays consistent!

Hoping these forums will be beneficial for me!!!

Losing five pounds in 20 days is great progress! Slow is the right way to go. I'm happy if I lose a pound in a week. In fact, I'm happy with less than that, as long as I am going in the right direction over time.

Congrats on your progress!!! And welcome to calorie counting -- it works for me and lots of others on these boards. My calorie limit is also 1500. There's also a forum devoted to calorie counting, if you're interested.

thanks for the encouragement I'm pretty sure the first few pounds were water weight anyway, but i've kept it off and i'm still going in the right direction! with counting calories and adding in a bit of exercise (treadmill when i'm at the college twice a week and Wii Fit as often as I feel up to doing it) i feel so much better! these forums seem so encouraging

thank you all

seems i've already hit a plateau of sorts...been going for about a month now and still only lost 5 pounds. i'm now implementing some more extensive cardio, so maybe i'm eating too few calories. who knows. i hate the pressure of not knownig whether i'm forcing myself into starvation mode or not, lol.

we'll see how this month goes.
