Do you want a place to put down your daily menu or share your plans. Or- just a place to chat and get some extra support. Please join us! jeniansmom 10-27-2008, 07:59 AM So the weekend was eh..Saturday I stayed on plan and got my water in. Yesterday I was super stressed out and did some stress eating of nono foods. So. It's a new week. Onward and upward! Monday's plan: B: Wrap S: RF String cheese and almonds L: The last of the chili and cheese S: RF String cheese and almonds D: Meatloaf made with TVP and veggies S: Chocolate ricotta creme I skipped Day 3 Week 1 of Couch 2 5k due to TOM, so back on track today restarting Week 1. I've got to go grocery shopping after work too so that I have some more varied snack choices. I wish you all a happy, healthy, on plan Monday! :) GirlyGirlSebas 10-27-2008, 09:56 AM Good morning, Ladies. Sorry I've not been around much to offer support and enouragement. I'm feeling a bit anxious and am trying to keep myself super busy so I can't think too much. Last week, I had an ultrasound of my thryoid and it turns out that I have 4 nodules that have grown significantly from last year. This means that they need to do a needle biopsy. I'm scheduled for this on Thursday. The thought of needles in my neck and the possibility of thyroid cancer is really scaring me. Needless to say, I've been seeking comfort in food and the scales aren't smiling for me. If you believe in prayer, please pray for peace and calm for me as I make it over yet one more of life's hurdles. Beverlyjoy 10-27-2008, 10:13 AM Hi chicks! I am feeling like I can stay on my plan today - hopeful. Yesterday my foot did not hurt for the first time in a long time. breakfast - egg white scramble, toast with npnb, ketchup, 1/2 banana lunch - black beans with lite cheese and salsa, steamed carrots snack - cottage cheese and strawberries dinner - homemade veggie beef soup, garlic toast snack - oatmeal, fruit, milk lots of water stretches ice/heat rest my pieces and parts meditation log food PMA Rhonda - yes, indeed...I will pray for a good result when you have that biopsy. Try to be brave, friend. (easier said than done, I know) Try not to worry now - Take care. Jeniasmom - keep moving forward. You CAN do this. :) cfmama - good job at the movies and being OP! :) Hi thighsbegone - I love grits, too. I should buy some - seeing them in your plan was a good reminder! :) Mj - sorry your knee hurt enough to take the meds. Gosh - have fun shopping.:D I hope you can schedule your surgery soon - good to get it over. Shout out to Ginger, Peaches, Lyn, Yoga ----Schmoodle - hope you're OK! Have a great day folks. mj5 10-27-2008, 11:46 AM Hi everyone! Rhonda--I was afraid something was going on. Keep yourself as busy as you need to. You will be in my prayers. Jeniasmom--New week, fresh start! You CAN do it!!!! Beverlyjoy--I know you will have a good day today! So I am trying to keep myself busy and distracted today too....Luckily I have lots to do at work! After work, dh is meeting me at home and we'll leave for my appt. The good news is, I am down 2lbs this week!!! ClydieCat 10-27-2008, 04:27 PM Hi, all! :) Rhonda - sending positive thoughts & prayers your way! Monday's Plan: Breakfast - WW yogurt & apple Snack - Fiber One bar Lunch - 6 inch turkey Subway sandwich w/ baked chips, sugar-free Jell-o cup Snack - 100 cal. microwave popcorn Supper - Bruschetta chicken bake w/ steamed broccoli & cauliflower Snack - Sugar-free french vanilla pudding Hope everyone's Monday is going good :) cfmama 10-27-2008, 06:08 PM Rhonda- sending all the healthy vibes that I have well chickies: the norwalk virus DID NOT pass me by as I was hoping it might. Another one of my daycare babies went home today after throwing up and now I have it :( I think my littlest guy Phoenix is coming down with it too. Bright side? Good for weight loss right? lol. mj5 10-27-2008, 09:15 PM Good news! We met with the Dr and he wants to do the laparoscopic procedure, which means day surgery and 4 days out of work. Much better than 3 days in the hospital & 6 weeks out of work. It is scheduled for 12/23....which may sound like bad timing, but I have met my Deductible and coinsurance so it won't cost anything. Plus, after the first day I will feel pretty good. I feel much better! Now if I can just get my knee taken care of....... cfmama 10-28-2008, 12:43 AM mj5- THAT IS AWESOME NEWS!!!!!! Well I stayed "on plan" meaning I ate under 1800 cal's... waaaay under 1800 cals. I just can't do the eating thing knowing it's going to come up or out in three seconds. I did well up until dinner (still eating even though it was leaving me) and then forwent dinner. I ended up having a slice of my sprouted grain toast with a half serving of cheddar and a yogurt for dinner instead. I'm going to eat in a bit here and I won't be having my popcorn (ouch) or my peach (nope) but I'm thinking some fruit cup or a banana or something. So for tomorrow (if I'm done spewing) Day 32 on plan B- pk oatmeal and 1/2 large banana s- yogurt and 22 almonds L- 1 baked salmon fillet, 1 cup brussel sprouts, 1 pc sprouted grain toast with 1 T almond butter s- 1/2 cup cottage cheese and one applesauce cup D- 1 cup brown rice, 13 small shrimp with two T mandarin dressing, 1 cup steamed california veggies s- applesauce cup and 100 cal smart popcorn this is BEST case scenario... worst case? I ditch it all and live on homemade chicken stock and crackers. wish me luck. kissingginger 10-28-2008, 01:34 AM Hi Ladies, Sorry keepin it short....I got a long list of things to do....but I got new runners and already my feet feel better...hit the gym and did 10 min warm up, biceps and triceps and abs. Nothing major, just went there and did some time. I gotta ice/rest/elevate..... Cheers, Ginger Lyn2007 10-28-2008, 03:15 AM Rhonda, I am totally praying for you. Sending big hugs. Tomorrow is going to be a good day for me. mj5 10-28-2008, 06:57 AM Good Morning! I am SO relieved after my appt last night!!!! I am really glad dh went w/ me too. He was able to ask a lot of questions. The doctor was wonderful and really took the time to answer them and made sure dh was sasified and understood his answers. I am really lucky to have found such great doctors! (and a fantastic dh, of course!) The doctor told us the biggest cyst on my left ovary is the size of a ping pong ball and the one on the right isn't much smaller! TOM is here and is totally kicking my butt (one of the benefits of the surgery is that TOM will 'ease up' a bit, which is good news for me!!!). I will not use that as an excuse to go off plan, though. I am going to the gym tonight. I am going to have lunch w/ my younger brother today. He is the one who works out all the time and eats healthy, so eating heathy will not be a problem today! I think it would be hard to choose something 'bad' in front of him!!!! cfmama--hope you feel better soon!!! ginger--YEA for new runners! Take care of yourself! When is your interview? Hi to everyone else. Have a great OP day! Beverlyjoy 10-28-2008, 08:24 AM Yesterday was a great food day. I am grateful. :) I have a program tonight. Must rehearse. log food ice/heat meditation stretches lots of was PMA breakfast - turkey with mayo on lite bread, strawberries lunch - ff cottage cheese, sweet potato, zuccini snack - apple and pnb dinner - homemade veggie beef soup with toast snack - cereal, fruit, milk MJ - so glad you have the surgery date and they can use the scope. Congrats on two more pounds down. :carrot::carrot: You rock!! Hi Lyn - have a great day. :) Ginger - good to hear you got new shoes. :D Perhaps you can concentrate on upper body or non weight bearing stuff while your feet heel. Take care. cfmama - hope you feel better SOON! Hi clydiecat!!! Great plan...so glad you posted. :) Where's schmoodle??? Hope she's OK. Everyone......have a great day. jeniansmom 10-28-2008, 08:36 AM Rhonda  sending lots of positive energy your way. Beverlyjoy - yay for a no foot pain day! and for a great food day! mj5 - thank you! and yay on the good news! cfmama - sorry you're sick :( feel better quick! Ginger - yay for shoes that feel good..I got a pair of sneakers to work out in and wore them at the dreaded Walmart trip on Saturday - I was racing around that store in my comfy supportive shoes, fastest in and out of there in months! Yesterday wasn't bad food wise but I'm discovering that nuts give me headaches unless I pair them with something with some carbs. So I had almonds in the afternoon and that set a slight headache that had been there all day into a full blown. I didn't do my couch 2 5k b/c of that. So I will need to do that tonight. Today's plan: B: the usual wrap, but half fell on the floor so I finished my son's eggs as he was done with them S: RF cheese stick and apple L: Ok so this time it's really the last of the leftover chili and RF cheese S: Peach Fage yogurt D: meatloaf with TVP, squash, green beans S: chocolate ricotta creme with whipped cream Water, Water, Water Happy, healthy, Tuesday all! econ nerd 10-28-2008, 10:13 AM So the weekend was eh..Saturday I stayed on plan and got my water in. MJ5 - awesome news on the surgery Rhonda -you're in my prayers  CFMama - hope you're done spewing Beverlyjoy, Clydiecat, econ nerd, jeniansmom, lyn2007 and anyone I may have missed  Kissingginger - way to go on the shoes :woohoo: - I have had mucho issues with feet including plantars faciitis so bad I could barely walk. Even though your shoes may not be worn, make sure you replace after so many miles of use. I have special made orthodics which have saved my life. Anyway on to me. I'm in a funk. I've been following a specialized low carb plan since late August. Been on the verge of going off plan for days. Don't want to though and not sure where this is coming from. I already have deviated slightly from the original plan, think I told you guys I added nuts which are evil (easy to overeat) and am more liberal with protein. Today B- lean ham and mozz cheese S- mozz cheese and pepperoni L-leftover chinese vegetables and shrimp s- jerky D leftover chinese veggetables and more shrimp s - s/f popsicle hope to squeeze in Wifit too! Have a fab day everyone! cfmama 10-28-2008, 05:53 PM bigmommacat- *hugs* my trick with nuts is to STRICTLY meausure them. 1 oz of almonds is 22 and nothing more or less. That's how I am able to keep them in the house. I hope your funk is temporary... look at how much weight you have lost already! You're rockin it girl!!!! mj5 10-29-2008, 06:50 AM Good Morning! Yesterday I found out that my supervisor and I are going to the 'fancy' resort for part of the conference next week. A proposal our agency has been working on is going to be hilighted, so we MUST represent--it would look really bad if NO ONE from our agency was there, so ROAD TRIP! I am really excited!!!! I was going through my closet last night so see what I could wear....I found a great burgundy sweater and some really nice black pants that I haven't been able to fit into in forever!!!! It will be comfy for the meetings next Friday, won't wrinkle during travel, and MOST importantly--looks great! Beverlyjoy--How was your program yesterday? Maybe schmoodle's dh came home, I know she mentioned he was coming home soon. Lyn--How was your day? Rhonda--How are you holding up? peaches--how's the gym going? jeniansmom--did you get your exercise and water in? econ nerd--Welcome!!! ClydieCat--Welcome! cfmama--So glad you are feeling a little better. CONGRATS on 30lbs lost!!!! All of your hard work is paying off!!! bigmommacat--How are you doing? You can do this!! I agree, the key is measuring things that are too temping to overeat. confession time for me....I did not go to the gym last night. I ended up working way too late. Not a good excuse (in fact, it's on of the 'old me' excuses'). Tonight, even though I have a late meeting, I AM going to the gym. My gym clothes are already in the car! Have a great OP day everyone! jeniansmom 10-29-2008, 08:01 AM Good morning all :) I seem to find myself in the same place I was in at the end of last month - still losing, but not doing great sticking to all 3 phases of my plan. I could wait til Saturday, the magic day 1 and get super motivated again like I did on Oct 1, or I can start today. I am choosing to start today. Yesterday I did perfect with food. I was close on water, but didn't quite get there. Exercise didn't happen. I am going to the dentist this morning - it's an hour drive so I have to take at least the morning off work. That meant I had to get things done yesterday to cover me being out this morning. So I worked though lunch (ate while I worked) which meant no walk with a coworker at lunch, and I also worked til 7:30 so I was too tired to do the couch 2 5k when I got home. In hindsight I should have at least done some theraband work or something. Today's plan: B: Strawberry Fage yogurt S: Not sure if I'll have one, I may be in the dentist's chair L: I'm stopping at Whole Foods on the way home and will make a salad at their salad bar S: RF cheese stick an apple D: I really need to make that meatloaf, we had tortilla pizzas again last night b/c I got home so late Somehow, some way I will get my water in. Exercise: I have to go to work after the dentist and after that I have errands to run, so exercise will either be Day 1 Week 1 of Couch 2 5k or if I don't have the time or energy for that a minimum of 40 crunches and 10 minutes of theraband work. mj5 - Thanks for asking! I need the accountability :) And yay on the road trip - great that you are getting to go someplace nice! Nice to rediscover clothes too isn't it? bigmommacat - has something changed in your life that's contributing to you feeling like going off plan? Is there something in particular that you have been craving/missing that you are tempted to eat? cfmama - glad you are starting to feel better - YAY on the 30 lbs lost!! econ nerd - welcome! I will pop over and check out your challenge thread :) Happy Healthy Hump Day one and all! Beverlyjoy 10-29-2008, 10:33 AM Hi folks! It certainly helps me to type it out here - makes me feel more accountable! Work is crazy busy today & between the two kids, I was up from midnight to 5:00 this morning so I am TIRED. Hopefully the day goes quickly!!! Have a wonderful day, everyone :D cfmama 10-29-2008, 05:21 PM Hello everyone! And tomorrow I have to go in and take a typing test...I did some online and ouch! I'm barely making 50wpm. Their cut-off is 50, so I need to pass this test. Any ideas on how to get better by tomorrow? LOL Anyhow, still hoping for the gym tonight, but I got tons to do and my neighbor just dropped her son off (she needed to take her other son to the emerg....), so more stress! LONG story, but I am ok w/ it. Disappointed, but ok. I am VERY excited to be going Christmas shopping w/ a friend on Saturday. I need to rest my knee as much as I can between now and then. I am going to take some pain meds tonight--I didn't sleep much last night and I paid for it today. I have way too much to do not to be getting any sleep! Hi to everyone else...I need to get ready for work, I'll get caught up w/ p's later. Work is super hectic and I am letting it get in the way of my workouts. I MUST stop this pattern!!! I know I have to make the time for me and I WILL do it! I also know that the only way for me to consistently lose weight is to keep my eating in check (doing ok w/ that) AND to exercise--need to get back on track there! jeniansmom 10-30-2008, 08:04 AM Beverlyjoy  It's important to stay in this supportive environment so that you are when things get better (and they will) it will be easier to get back on track. Ginger - good luck! mj5 - bummer about the trip, but the shopping sounds fun! Kayla - yay for 2 good days! My trip to the dentist went went. Had a cleaning and was told my inflamed gum was likely just a cold sore, not something caused by the tooth. I did schedule to go back next Thursday and have the small cavities in all 4 of my wisdom teeth filled. I was supposed to do it a year ago and of course they are bigger now. So I can do it now and save them or wait and have them pulled. Since I dread general anasthesia I'm having them filled! Food went well except it was so late and I was so tired by the time the meatloaf cooked that neither DH or I ate supper. I had 2 servings of my chocolate ricotta creme and he had 2 SF puddings and we went to bed. I ended up working until 8 and I did not do my errands after or exercise. I woke up this am with a sore throat which tells me I am not getting enough rest. I am going to have to put my foot down and get some sleep tonight. Today's plan: B: peach Fage yogurt S: RF string cheese and apple L: meatloaf and green beans S: RF string cheese and almonds D: meatloaf and green beans S: chocolate ricotta creme with whipped cream Water - I have to make time for it. Just remember to take a DEEP breath & try to relax :) Jen - Hope the fillings go smoothly next week (I hate the dentist!) I hope you can get some rest tonight! My plan for today: Breakfast - apple, WW yogurt Lunch - Healthy Choice frozen dinner, sugar-free pudding, pear Snack - 100 calorie popcorn Supper - once again the tuna & noodles got sidetracked (we just had leftovers), so going to make them tonight with steamed green beans Snack - Apple, cereal bar Hope everyone has a wonderful day! :) kissingginger 10-30-2008, 11:18 AM Beverly - we'll miss you!! Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. It means a lot. Last night I was stressed out completely. I totally binged and I really regret it because I feel so crappy this morning. I totally self-destructed. I actually felt ill while eating and still ate more. I'm hoping for better today. Ginger Lyn2007 10-30-2008, 07:07 PM Hi again, Life is busy over here but I am hanging in there. EVery time I go to post, the phone rings! The trip to the hospital with my daughter went okay (did I say that already?!?) but we have to go back in December. Husband is gone again but might come back for the holidays. I have been eating pretty healthy all day and then sort of flipping out in the evening and eating cheese or bread. Trying to knock that off since it is stalling my weight loss. Oh I got some cool news. Quaker Oats invited me and 14 other health bloggers to their headquarters for a 3-day weekend, all expenses paid. I get to talk to a nutritionist, a cardiologist and a chef and learn "all about oats." Heh. I eat them every day in the winter so this will be fun. (If you think of anything you want me to ask the dietician, let me know and I will ask for you!) I wish this weight would come off faster, but this stuff takes time, right? jeniansmom 10-31-2008, 08:08 AM I slept 12 hours last night other than getting up to pee. I think I had a fever at one point but it's gone this morning. Wicked swollen glands in my neck (my double chin is growing again!) and wicked sore throat. I didn't eat supper again last night. I've lost 4 pounds since Sunday but I won't make it "official" til this Sunday's weigh in as when I can eat again some of it may come back. Today's plan: I have to work til 1, I'm forcing a strawberry Fage yogurt down now When I get home I'm taking a nap (I don't think I'll ever get those errands done) I'll try to eat meatloaf and green beans before I go out Halloweening with my boy (he's "too old" for trick or treating but we're going to a couple of haunted houses and parties and go see a couple of cool displays. Then I have to go back to work to do month end before I come home and crawl into bed. I'm supposed to meet DH's aunt at 8am Saturday to go shopping but I think I'm going to have to take a pass on that. My body needs sleep, lots of it! I'll work the water in where I can but oh it hurts to swallow! Hoping everyone has a Happy Healthy Fun Day! ClydieCat 10-31-2008, 11:42 AM Good morning, everyone! :) Ginger - I think we've all been there - I hope today is a better day for you. Lyn - that is cool about the Quaker Oats thing!!! Jen - Ugh, hope you are feeling a better soon!! My plan for today: Breakfast - apple, yogurt Snack - turkey pepperoni Lunch - Healthy Choice dinner, sugar-free pudding, fiber one bar Snack - pear Supper - ??? I don't know, but I need to think of something. DH is stopping to get a take & bake pizza for himself & the kids & even though he is going to get the thin crust that I could technically eat & still be within my points range for the day, pizza is a "trigger" food for me. I've been doing so good, I don't know if I want to go down that road.... The weekends are SUCH a hard time for me :( I haven't had an "on" weekend in MONTHS. I really, really want this weekend to be successful. I know I need to just take it one day at a time... ****, one minute at a time! Hope you all have a great day! :D mj5 10-31-2008, 03:59 PM Hi everyone! I am having the hardest time focusing on work today!!! Have a great OP afternoon/evening! Lyn2007 10-31-2008, 06:07 PM Happy Halloween guys!! Are you staying out of the candy? So far so good for me. Eating healthy and have not opened the candy I bought for the trick-or-treaters tonight. Last year I was so proud because I did not have ONE piece of candy and I want to do it again this time! Tomorrow is a new month, hope it's a good one for all of you :) cfmama 11-01-2008, 04:20 AM Stayed on plan now for 35 days!!!! I am about to get ready to go shopping!!! Can't wait! I didn't do so great yesterday, I didn't eat much for lunch (wasn't hungry), so when I opened the candy for the trick or treaters, I ate more than my planned "two pieces". I didn't go totally overboard, but I certainly felt icky last night!!! That's why I wanted to pop in here first this am....we are starting our day by going out to breakfast--I wanted to get inspired so I make sure I make good choices! We will be doing lots of walking--it's a "strip" outlet mall, so LOTS of walking. Have a great OP day! I KNOW I will be!!!!!! Back on track for me today. No more messing around! Lyn2007 11-01-2008, 01:42 PM I have a new plan. I gained 3 lbs in October (actually I gained 6 and lost 3). I am ANNOYED. I need somethin new and interesting to keep myself focused so I am playing around with the idea of having a calorie total for the MONTH and sticking to it. Although, uh, it could end up with me not having calories for the last week of the month, which wouldnt work out so well. But maybe I will try it. That and actually exercising instead of just thinking about it. Lyn2007 11-02-2008, 01:32 AM I had a good day today. I was starving. So hungry all day even with lots of mini meals, protein, fiber, tea, water. I ate 1800 calories. My stomach is still growling!! Hopefully tomorrow will be easier! mj5 11-02-2008, 07:46 AM Hi everyone! Shopping was great! Did well at breakfast, walked a LOT. We both found some great bargains! I also found a black sweater that I have been wanting for myself for $15!!!! Great bargain! We are going to go again in a few weeks (after we get paid again). We had a lot of fun too. Today I am making stew in the crock pot and having 'lazy day' w/ the dogs. Oh yea, I found a pair of pj bottems that say "lazy bones" all over them w/ dog bones and the "Big Dog"...I had to buy them for $5!!! They are my new 'official' lazy day pj's! Have a great op day! jeniansmom 11-02-2008, 10:39 AM Good morning all. I'm feeling somewhat better. My right tonsil and the glands in my neck on that side are still way too big and still making it painful to swallow. But the left is just about normal, still a little tender, but nothing like it was. I've been sipping water as much as I can but I can tell I'm dehydrated. I haven't been planning anything, just trying to get some food in when I can. Rested all day yesterday. Well except for my morning burst of energy when I did some laundry and dishes. I'm going to finally go get my errands done during this morning's burst of energy and then come home and crash. I officially lost 6 pounds this week - but not the best way to do it. I'm hoping when I'm feeling better and eating right I can maintain the loss. Happy Sunday all! Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be feeling up to personals and to posting a menu plan for the day. cfmama 11-02-2008, 02:16 PM Well I went out with my best girly last night and drank my couple bottles of water. With 5+ hours of dancing though and NOT ENOUGH WATER I'm retaining like crazy this morning. The scale said 5 LBS of water retention. DRINK DRINK DRINK today for me! My body is SORE after that much movement but it was so much fun! vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
