Hi Everyone!

Yes, another newbie. I laugh at that term because I'm approaching 5 yrs of being smoke free. I remember posting on a support forum when I quit smoking as a newbie. I smoked a pack a day for 28 yrs. When I first quit smoking, I was advised to not worry about the weight gain. I was very focused on my quit so I took the advice of those that had quit before me. Now I'm 40 lbs heavier and still smoke free.

It's time to focus on my weight now!

So........... Hi everyone! I'm Julie! 41 pounds to lose, and I'll do it one pound at a time!

hi, Julie, welcome!
smoking is even more addictive then eating, so i'm sure you will have no trouble in losing the weight.
good luck! :)

Thank you. I really do better knowing I'm supported.

I'll do an about me later. I'm off to finish an interior paint job I started yesterday. If I could do this professionally I would be a skinny mini!

Thank you for the welcomes!

We have a lot in common, wow. I quit smoking on December 31st, 2006, so I'm approaching 2 years smoke-free, woohooo! I smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day for 30 years. And after I quit smoking I put on about 40 lbs (the difference would be that I was already overweight before that point).

One more thing we have in common: For the past two days I've been working on an "interior paint" job!! OMG what a workout that was! I wrote a whole blog entry about it. (http://3fatchicks.com/diet-blogs/eileen2blean/2008/12/06/day-143-friday/)

Anyway, welcome to 3FC - and best wishes on your weight loss journey!
