I am definitely in for a "no excuses" week. I've been POP since Thursday, but for a week prior to that - not so much. My choice of course, I chose to indulge by about 500 calories a day during a week long holiday. And helloooo, my weight is up. It's already back down a bit, but I've got some more to go.

Did just about horrible over the weekend. Saturday I woke up, ate my morning oatmeal and then we went out of town with plans to eat at Applebee's, where I was going to have the garlic herb chicken off the Weight Watchers menu. Yeah, didn't happen. Our first stop ended up lasting THREE HOURS when it should've only been 20, max. So that took us past lunch and WAAAAAAY past the time we should've been on the way home to let our puppy out (we called, but couldn't get anyone else to do it). We had to stop by AT&T to get the husband's phone fixed and do a couple of other errands. By that time it was about 3 pm and I was literally shaking and nearing tossing my cookies. SERIOUSLY needed to eat. The husband got some Taco Bueno, and I broke down and got a cheeseburger and small order of fries while we were rushing home to take care of the dog. Then that night, I had a pumpkin pie Blizzard from Dairy Queen. I was under my calories for the day, but felt SO bad (even though the ice cream was SOOOO good!).

Sunday, again I ate the oatmeal and then we ate out again...fried stuff!! Dinner last night was some mashed potatoes, beans, green beans and fish sticks (a guilty pleasure). Again...within calorie range but no good at all! The scale this morning said 144, where it's been 141 for a week or so. I know I didn't gain three pounds over the weekend, but seeing that number was a shock.

Back on plan for me!!

Mindi . . . pumpkin pie blizzard? I am so jealous!

My weekend was half on half off. I got a boatload of exercise, but I went out to each Saturday night and had a drink and dessert. Sunday I accidentally skipped lunch and ended up getting a candy bar from the impulse buy section at the grocery store. Other than those two deviations it was POP though.

Monday:
B - muesli, milk
S - apple
L - winter vegetable "shepherd's pie"
S - banana, yogurt, bread
D - baked ziti
Exercise - 30 min dog wog (c25k w5d1#2) - Done!

Today, despite the planning, may be a little challenging. I slept ridiculously poorly last night - seriously ridiculously - and that always makes me hungry to excess. AND, my body is reacting strangely to the birth control I'm on to regulate hormones (months one and two were fine, month three...spotting for 2 weeks and counting) so I have TOM cravings and bloating for 2 weeks strong now. Lame.

I am going to fight hard for a victory today regardless.

My doctor changed my B/C pills a couple of months ago. At first everything was good (no spotting for a change) but now I've gone 2 months without a period! I don't know if I like that. I'm on Yaz, which only has 4 days of inert pills--I'm thinking I need the full week of inert pills.

Amanda, I feel for you. I hate not sleeping well. It totally messes with my eating (especially breakfast).

My breakfast wasn't what I usually have. I wasn't hungry at all but knew I needed to have something before heading to work.

B~3 Triscuits 1 oz cheddar cheese, 10 almonds
S~nuts
L~salad, apple
S~Activia yogurt
D~leftover Italian sausage, penne, tomato and spinach casserole, bread sticks, side salad

I'm on Yaz too. It's doing what it was meant to do (I HAD no TOM before for 6 months due to PCOS, and its back), but its all whacked out. I really hope it settles down next month - 3 weeks of TOM is a little too much.

Here's an example of being in the OP mode. Today I ran to work (5m) from Penn Station carrying a very heavy lunch tupper of prob 6-7oz pork roast and carrot onion broc stew in my back pack and change of clothing. Had a balance bar brekkie and tupper for lunch.
Then came into second work area (took jitney to get here) and walked SMACK into the remaining many "tempting" foods left over from an am halloween party. Party foods included an unopened box of butter cookies that I probably would have sneaked into my little office 9 months ago and munched on thru the rest of the day, 2 kinds of brownies, fried plaintains, pumpkin pie, soda bread, other pastries....
maybe 9 months ago I would have started a binge and kept going until the end of the day. Today I took an orange from an untouched fruit plate, "Yum,I said to myself, I haven't had an orange in ages!!"

Yaz often eliminates a period b/c the hormones reduce the built up lining of the uterus. So, the inert days shed little or no lining. One need not worry about this lack of withdrawal bleeding b/c the hormones in the pill are cycling the body's hormones accordingly. Of course, it's always good to check w/ your doc.

(I hope I'm not being a buttinskiey)

Allison - I hear you, I don't like going more than a month without a period. Then again, for me it's more a matter of being reassured that I'm not pregnant than anything else!

You're not a buttinsky--I appreciate the info!!

Jessica~Yeah, sometimes you need that reassurance! LOL

I do see my doctor in about 4 months for my cholesterol test--I'll ask him about it then.

Well, I managed to hold it together today. I'm actually pretty impressed with that, myself, because I had two major triggers going on.

Plan for tomorrow:
B - English muffin pizza w/ light cheese, ham
S - Greek Yogurt
L - Chicken skewer, butternut squash cubes, broccoli
S - Popcorn
S - More greek yogurt, with pineapple
D - WW Penne w/ super lean ground beef meatballs, red sauce, roasted peppers, eggplant, zucchini, onion
S - NSA Ice Cream Bar

E - 55 min run (I WILL get up early and run, because I have meetings all day that will keep me from doing my cardio. I WILL DO IT)
70 min strength training

Monday was POP.

Was quite a bit "munched" at night though and really needed to fight the urge to go and "snack" on something. And let me just say that that "something" was not on plan. I have 4 boxes of cereal in my house that I bought for my family - they were on sale. When I see cereals that they like, I stock up. 2 boxes of Life and 2 boxes of Special K Cinnamon Pecan. They were really, really calling my name. I was a bit under for the day and 1/2 of a serving or even a full serving wouldn't have blown my calorie budget, so I was really strongly contemplating having some. But I knew that 1 serving would most likely (ummm, definitely) lead to 2 and then so on and so on. I'm so glad that I didn't give into my desire for it. I decided to have a Swiss Miss 25 calorie hot chocolate instead. I just didn't want to start down that path. And wouldn't you know it, I 'm thrilled to pieces that I didn't have it and the desire for it is complete history.

Hmmm, note to self: * the cravings always pass. Always. And you are always happier when you DON' T indulge. Always. Each and every time - without fail. Get it self?

Today *should* be perfectly on plan as well. My house is loaded, simply loaded with wonderful healthy foods.
