100 lb. Club - WOW. Just... Wow.

I hope I don't seem too self-indulgent for starting a thread about this, but ladies, I am absolutely astounded by something I've just seen. As you can see by my ticker, I've lost a little over 50 lbs since July, and although this is a relatively significant amount, it's been a little frustrating to me that I've barely noticed any difference in the way I look. Yes, I can feel clothes fitting better, and I know that I've dropped a pants size (maybe 2!--haven't been sized in a while) but I still look at pictures of me before starting WL and think "Eh, yeah, I basically still look like that." And honestly, that's what it feels like to me...

Until now!

I really liked the outfit I was wearing today, so I decided to take some self-portraits out of boredom... Not an unusual activity for me, LOL. ;) Well, as I was looking over the pictures, one in particular looked a little familiar--I make a lot of the same faces in pictures (because I take pictures of myself so often, hehe), so I thought maybe this picture was reminding me of another one where I happened to make the same face at the same angle, etc. So, I started flipping through some of the other pictures on my computer to see if I could find the old picture I was thinking of... And I did... And I pulled them up next to each other...

I was actually speechless when I saw these pictures lined up together like that. I mean, I've heard of people not noticing the difference until they compare pictures, but I never thought I was doing that! Now I'm just shocked... I still don't even know what to say! I feel like both of those girls are me, so how can they look so different?!

I promise I'm not fishing for compliments, heh. :o I just wanted to share these pictures with you all... Maybe you can share in my excitement!

The difference is amazing! im so happy for you :) I remember a couple months ago when i did this same thing. I really didn't see much of a difference in the mirror, so i put my pics from 305lbs next to the ones at that time ( i think i was down about 50lbs or so) and I started crying! well, congrats on your hard work paying off. :D

Sometimes I think it's hard to see the difference when we look at ourselves in the mirror everyday. Thank goodness for before pictures and a measuring tape!

It's amazing, isn't it? Here's a comparison of mine... I'd say about a 25-30lb difference in the pictures

I can def see a difference when I look at pics like that side by side. I wish I had some pics of me at my highest weight on my computer. I actually had a lady tell me the other day that if she didn't know me before, she would never know I was the same person. It's flattering. lol

EDIT: Stole a pic of me around my highest (known) weight. Believe it or not, it was my birthday. And I thought I looked ok :-(

mxgirl737 - WOW, I have to say that I can definitely see a difference between your pictures! Your face has so much more definition. You're doing really great. And I admire your bravery in posting a picture from your highest weight. My highest weight was around 9th/10th grade (which was also my homeliest stage in life, LOL) and I have almost no pictures from that time, since I didn't have a digital camera or anything at that point... If I ever manage to find some pictures from that time, I'll definitely post them. It'd be so cool to see how far I've come!

Trazey34 - LOL that's like my most favorite lipgloss ever! I'm kind of a lipgloss(/cosmetics in general) addict. ;) It's L'Oreal Paris "Colour Juice" lipgloss, in either Cherry On Top or Watermelon Smash (I wear both pretty frequently, heh!) It looks like this (http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2006/products/September/080306_loreal_01b.jpg). It comes in such pretty colors and smells soooo good.
