Weight Loss Support - Christmas Goal Setting

View Full Version : Christmas Goal Setting

My goal is to really push and go for 15-20 pounds between now and Christmas day! I've talked it over with my husband, taken a look at a calendar to make sure there are enough weeks to do this and written out a killer grocery list with a ton of variety.

So, where is the best place to post to get support for this goal? Is there a daily tracking message board or are there chat rooms? I'm very motivated to make this a jump start to a much greater weight loss (I have about 60-65 to lose).

I think here, starting a thread just like this one is a great way to go. Personally, I want to lose at least another 15 pounds by Christmas as well. My minimum goal is to be at 175 by 12/25. That would be very cool!

You can do it! We are in this together. I can't wait to get down to your weight. LOL. I can't believe I let myself gain after I went so far. I think being diagnosed with MS was my excuse to eat. Well, guess what? There are always excuses and I'm sure being overweight isn't good for the disease either. =0)

You are doing awesome now though. You have made the decision to get healthy and no matter how long the journey takes (hey, it's never really over though, is it? :) ) you'll do it! We all can and will.

I want to be 200lbs [or maybe 199.9!] by Christmas.

My goal for October was to be 226, but there's about 2 weeks left, and I'm hanging around 227-229, so I will probably lose another 4-5lbs. So 200lbs seems 100% reachable! :dizzy:

I am 171.5 right now, just starting and I would love to be 155 by Christmas. That is about 1.5 pounds a week. I am hoping with Fat Smash Diet will give me a boost so the remaining weeks won't be such a struggle.

I'd like to lose another 30-35 by Christmas. I'm in the initial phase right now and losing a ton really quickly and I don't think I'll have slowed that down by then so it's totally doable. I'd like to be 325... working hard to make it happen!

hiya, iv got a similar goal. i started a thread about a week ago regarding loosing 21lbs by christmas. so we've pretty much working with the same weight loss in the same time frame.

Of course we can do this I have a Christmas goal...mine isn't much..but it's a goal...and a milestone for me,because being below 200 is one thing for me,I haven't been below 200 since like 10 years ago,so being below 190 is even more of a milestone for me....I want to be ATLEAST 185 by Christmas!!!! Hey I've got an idea...why don't we keep this thread going as a "goal thread" come back everyday or ever week which ever is better for some of us and post to keep everybody else updated on our progress,fallbacks,etc...anybody else want to do this too???? I neeeeed a thread to hang out at!!LOL I'm ready to make some new friends!!:D  :carrot:

I don't really like the idea of setting "permanent" goal more than a month ahead, but I'll give a tentative one. There's ten weeks and 3 days left....soooo, I am going to aim for 20 pounds by Christmas. 235! That would be great!

Hooray! I'm so glad to see I'm in good company. I'm counting calories and writing down what I eat. I'm keeping my WW information at the back of my mind in terms of eating the right foods. Calculating points always seemed like too much work but counting calories is a lot easier.

As for exercise, I'm going to do the elliptical today when my husband gets home. I'm not sure how long I can make it for my first day, but I'm going to try really hard.

Good for us! Keep me posted because I really want to see how everyone is doing.

I'll jump in on this thread too. You all are getting me motivated :carrot:. I've been at a stand still for quite a while and even though I feel like I'm constantly working towards my goal, I'm not really doing enough. I think I'm the queen of excuses!
I would love to be in the 130's by Christmas. Ideally, I'd like to be down by 10 pounds, but in the 130's would make me happy. Usually it's one of my New Years resolutions to loose these (same) extra pounds. How cool would it be to go into the New Year already making progress!
Okay, so I calorie count and do some kind of exercise 4-5 days a week. I have to write down my food to keep me honest. I'll be checking in here for more inspiration.
We can totally do this! :grouphug:

Considering my "condition"...I can't really set a weight goal. I'd *like* to drop another 25 pounds within the next 12 weeks, or about 2 pounds per week. If that doesn't come to pass, I'm aiming for a size 14 by Christmas (dropping 1 size per month). I'm going to be exercising my butt off to firm up and tone up, and hopefully melt off those inches (about 4 on my hips and 4 on my waist).

I want to be 210 by Christmas. I really wanted to be able to set 199 as a goal for NYE, but I just don't think that's possible. I'm going to work really hard to get as much as I can off by then, but I don't want to set up unrealistic goals and make myself feel crappy when I don't reach them. I'm shooting for 199 by 2/1.

Hooray, I feel good today! I stuck to 1500 calories and wrote down everything. I identified two weak times during the day so now I know to be busy around those two times. My husband got home late so I didn't get to do my elliptical BUT I cleaned the house like crazy which got me sweating.

I hope everyone else is well too! That was day one.... not on to this fabulous day two. Remember write down everything. I've read probably 50 nutrition (not diet) books and been on WW. They all consistently say to write things down!!

My day 1 and 2 were good. Yesterday I came in under my limit and today I'm on track too. Got my exercise in both days too. :carrot:

Weight Watchers is amazingly effective if you track and eat some of your extras or at least your earned workout points. I promise! I lost 60 pounds and the only reason I stopped going was that it was 65 miles away!

I want in too! I have never set a "mini" goal. My theory was that If I fail at the 'whole' weight loss thing then I'm only letting myself down once, but if I set minigoals then I could be letting myself down more times that I wanted to think about.
But this time I have a better attitude. I never said I would "try" to lose weight but I "will". So I'm in! In with the wanting to be under 200 club. I will settle for 199 by Christmas. Thats 19 pounds! oh no! What am I committed too?...lol...good luck to all! WE CAN DO IT!

This is a great thread! I'm definitely in! Like some others I'm going to go for being under 200 by Christmas. I think that's about 22lbs so it's definitely going to be a challenge but you guys are all so motivated that I'm feeling very inspired! :carrot: Let's go!

I'm in too ;) (if it's not too late!!) So it's 10 weeks to christmas eve (from today)
I've been hovering between 169-170 for the past week, and I hope this is the end of a 3 month plateau!!!!
I don't want to be TOO ambitious, in case I'm still stuck on my plateau ;) But I think I'm going to say 10 lbs. Work my way through the 160's, and MAYBE, just maybe, see 159! (it's been a LOONG time since I've seen THAT number!) What a christmas gift that would be, eh?

HEY!!!! This is so awesome!!..I'm so glad that every body's getting so motivated, and it's really kicking me into high gear,I can't wait until Christmas ya'll.... and I can't wait to weigh Friday to see if I've come down the 2 lbs that I've gained over the past few weeks :crossed: and if...when I meet my goal Christmas I am so gonna treat myself...I don't know what yet,but it's gonna be a honker of a something!!LOL What about you guys? have you thought at all of what your gonna do for yourself "WHEN" you meet your goal? what's motivating you? new shoes, new wardrobe, jewelry,a day at the spa? ooh that's a good one and I've never been to a spa!LOL I did tell DH when I got out of plus size, but down far enough where I'm not border plus size any more, like a size 10 or something maybe a 12 that I was gonna go buy myself a pair of Lucky brand jeans,I love them but unfortunately there's not plus size in them or atleast I've never seen them in plus size, but who would really want to go spend 70 + bucks on a pair of jeans unless it was a size you're planning on staying in and wearing for a while?ya know? Well I guess I'll go and take me a shower while DS is sleeping, other wise I have to take a bath with him, lol!! Then wash my hair in the sink....but you know since I've been doing that, our water bill has come down some...unbelievable...but it's nice to get it all done in one whack instead of splitting it up in parts...give him a bath, give me a bath, get out dry him, clothe him,I go back to the bath, shave my legs and fight with him to keep him out of the bath tub, then go wash my hair and fight with him AGAIN keeping him out of the cabinets and drawers!!!wears me out just typing it out!!LOL:D

Okay, I checked, 70 days till Christmas! :wreath: That's 70 days to stay on plan, excercise and be healthy and get to that goal, whatever it may be.
This morning when I was doing my excercise I was thinking about this thread and all of us working together towards the same goal. It kept me moving and motivated. Thanks for that .
shelbysmom- you were asking what our motivation is and if we'd treat ourselves. Well, my motivation is that I'm really tired of starting the year fighting the same battle. My treat for myself is to start the year feeling good about myself instead of feeling disgusted. I deserve to be healthy and fit. It's a terrible thing to start a brand new year thinking about how overweight I am or how unhappy I am with myself. I will start 2009 knowing that I am well on my way to being a better me.

Hooray, day three of our Christmas challenge. I walked to the park and played with my son. I still plan to do 100 sit-ups and maybe one more walk to the post office. I'm trying to get moving!

Tonight we'll be grocery shopping. I've made a list of healthy foods that I actually like to eat. My old WW leader told me something smart. "If you don't like carrots, don't eat them!" Now I choose the healthy foods that I actually want to eat.

Snack idea- Nonfat flavored yogurt and add one teaspoon of granola for a satisfying crunch. I love Trader Joe's Pecan granola which is packed with flavor.

Good morning Chicks! So, how's everyone doing? I stayed within my calorie range yesterday and I'm on track with my exercise. The last couple of days I seem to be up a couple pounds, bummer. I'm hoping it's a fluke, so I'm not changing my ticker. I am feeling pretty tired today too, so I think this could be a challenging day for me. I'll just have to keep thinking about the big picture and what my goals are. 69 days is plenty of time to make some progress. :)

Also, I just ordered Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and I am hoping to do that 7 days a week.

Shelbysmom, are you watching your salt intake. I always try to watch my salt the day before weigh in. That and drink plenty of water with lemon. That will help too. No matter what though remember that if you don't do it this week you have next week to lose too!

Yesterday was good. We went to a pizza dinner which was hard because I usually want to eat the whole thing. I had my husband serve me so I had only two slices. I had saved calories and still came in in my range. I've been walking too but I really need to up the exercise. I'm going to work on that today!!

Keep it up gals. We are all in this together. We are one team! No matter what you are doing or which diet you are following we can do this. Think of each decision individually.

shelbysmom - If you have been good then I would guess you haven't lost just because of normal weight fluctuations. I wouldn't be surprised if in one or two days, you do get those 2 pounds. Whenever my weight stalls I just keep going and wait it out and sure enough in a couple of days my hard work shows. And remember Christmas is 69 days away. You have lots of time...

Shelbysmom you ask what our reward to ourselves is....well, other than just feeling good in my own skin and actually finding clothes that dont look like tents, i chose my reward on something ive wanted to do for a long time and just havent done it...i'm going storm chasing!!! yaa me! I know this is a little extreme for some people but not for me. Its something Ive been crazy about since I was little......I'm also turning 40 in 6 months and going to vegas for my birthday. I want to be able to wear some cute clothes when i go...plus for an added bonus my husband told me he had a reward for me as well. Things that I wouldnt do for myself. 1) he said he forcing me to get these skin tags removed that have appeared out of nowhere the past few years and drive me crazy. 2) porcelain veneers because I have never been happy with my teeth. and 3) a boob job! only because I'm afraid they will be saggy empty bags after I lose the weight. and i told him before if that happened he would never see me naked again...lol...guess he figures if he looked at me fat for the last 7 years then hes not missing out on the skinny me because of a couple of saggy boobs...lol...well, i know that was long but as you can see I have a lot to work for. I am so motivated this time and i'm taking the motivation and running with it. I WILL lose the weight this time. maybe someone should start a thread just to see what others are doing for themselves.

I have the front butt goin' on!!LOL and I assume that when my weight is gone it's still gonna be "hangin'" around so that is one thing I definitely want to do too!! and yes the teeth.... where do I even start on mine, mine are so bad and I'm missing one front one....and I hate to smile...I kinda do the thin lip smile or if I crack up I cover my mouth....yea,I can;t believe I'm even telling this, because it is quite embarrassing for me and I know people close to me talk about my teeth ...."why don't she get them fixed ?" and so on and I'm sure I've been the blunt of some jokes a time or two...but anyway life goes on and I've been in the process of taking care of it...but one tooth and dollar at a time ya know...and last but certainly not least....the sisters....my obgyn told me that my boobs didn't have a lot of fat in them....so to be funny I asked her " so does that mean when I lose this weight,I'll still have big boobs?" she laughed and said " well I don't know, but you won't lose all of them" (heheehe) I actually thought about having a masectomy and then getting a boob job...my sis had breast cancer about 9,10 years ago and she was about 45 so that puts me having mammys every year for the rest of my life starting at 35...I had one at 29 and was not happy.....of course who enjoys it unless you're a porn star....no offense to anybody if that's your line of work!!LOL But me and you have alot in common!!That's cool!!

Hindsight is 20/20, isn't it? I never recognize pms until after I start. Good to know it's not "real" weight! Now you don't have to worry about it. :carrot:
And for the salt issue and retaining water...man, that is so true! I crave salty things sometimes, and I really do have to avoid it the evening before I weigh in. Too much salt turns me into a blowfish! Especially during pms.
Yesterday was not the best day for me. I wasn't feeling great and by evening I had a snack attack! I lost my head....I'm not sure how many calories I went over, but I guess I should try to tally the damage. Or maybe I should just keep moving forward and write it off, not sure. But today is a new day. The family is going to a local festival today so there will be plenty of walking for exercise, and luckily I'm not really into fair food so that shouldn't be an issue for me, I hope! Okay, there may be a few goodies that temp me but I'll just have to be strong!
You all have a good day and keep working towards that Christmas goal!

Good for you for keepin' on! I think we can all relate to the occasional unplanned indulgence. I hear there are people that stay on plan all the time and never have a slip up/cheat/fall off the wagon/bad day . Personally, I can't imagine having that kind of discipline and self-control. It sure would make weight loss easier! Unfortunetly, I think most of us do have those days. It's keeping that positive attitude that pulls us through.

I've realized, with pizza-- that Papa Johns (my favorite pizza to order in!) now does side salads-- So I make my way through that first, and I only have a slice or two of cheese pizza after that-- instead of the whole pie... lol
Are you into salads? Would that be an option for you?

10-19-2008, 02:26 PM
We live in hickville USA. Haha. We don't have any large commercial operations like Papa Johns. However, there is no reason I can't make myself a salad at home so when the pizza arrives I'm ready. That is a great idea.

Another idea I remembered when you said that was what WW called a pizza salad. One member said she takes a single slice and dices is all up and then adds it to her salad. Then, she has her family refill their plates in the kitchen and not at the table. She eats her pizza salad.

I'll remember both of those things next time. My weigh in on here is tomorrow and I'd be happy with even an ounce loss for my first week. I'm going to do some exercise today and drink lots of water!

I love Papa Johns too! Good thing everyone else in the house prefers another place so I don't get it very often. What is it with pizza? I like the pizza salad idea, I should have tried that tonight. We had pizza too :(. I tried to keep it under control and I did get a good bit of exercise this weekend so I feel pretty good about that.
Tomorrow I'm looking forward to working off this pizza.

I got a Wii and a Wii fit so I did exercises on it both Sat. and Sun. Yesterday, I also did the C25K week 1 work-out and this morning I did the 30 Day Shred. As soon as the sun comes up. I will go out and run some more. Feeling pretty confident that I will be able to make this goal. Its funny - my goal for Halloween was 185 and I am well passed that one already.

Woohoo, I am down 2.5 for my first week. This is a good start but I have some huge areas I can improve for next week. I'd like to incorporate a lot more exercise such as the elliptical I have all lonely in the garage.

asparagus, I have a Wii Fit too. I had to have it once I read about it and now it's sadly out of sight out of mind. I'm going to whip that bad boy out and get in some more minutes. It's a lot of fun so I'm amazed I haven't used it more.

asparagus4sale- Wow! Your really moving! :bravo: I wish I had your energy. You'll hit your goal in no time with all that activity. I've heard great things about the C25K program.

Thinnerinnerme- Way to go on being down 2.5! :cheer3:You must be so excited! I'd love to try the Wii fit. I don't know what all it does but it must be fun.

I've had a decent day. Pretty busy with work (that's a good thing for me, plus it gets me motivated). Stuck to my plan and got my exercise in. Tomorrow is my weigh in day, but it's also TOM, so I'm worried about water puff. I don't feel like I'll be down at all, we'll see. If I feel extra puffy I might wait and weigh on Wed. instead. I really need to be viligant with the calorie counting. It's so easy to let a few extra's slip by, and then before I know it I'm over by 200! Those little nibbles add up fast.

Okay, hang in there team. 65 days to go!!!:tree:

The Wii Fit is awesome. You can run, play tennis, bowl, do yoga, strength training etc. It monitors your progress and you can set goals. It has a balance board that weighs you and you can measure your "fit age."

For those with Wii fit - we should share of Wii age just for fun. My real age is 33 and twice I have been 36 but today I was 37.

I'm anticipating Friday...man I hope I'm down!!!! I really stressed myself out yesterday.....starting a new project and everything I think I have PMS after also..lol....I've noticed I cry before but after..ooohhhh,watch out:devil:!!!a pin dropping on the floor agitates me and I lose it....But anyway I was watching a purse on Ebay and it ended at 2 pm so I come home so I can fly in there last second to bid and win and wouldn't you just know it...some idiot cut the main cable 15-20 miles away that connects our phones and internet.......70,000 of us without phone and internet until who knows when,I know at 11:30 last night it was still out,but it was back this morning.....And so..... I didn't get the purse, and it went for 51.00 I was so mad I couldn't see straight....lol....DH laughed and at the time I didn't think it was a dern bit funny....good thing he was in Florida because I believe if he had been here doing that I would've pinched his head off!!LOL!!!!
But I am so glad to read everybody is doing good on their weight loss!!! I've got my fingers crossed for Friday!!!and I'm prayin'................well I've gotta get back to work...C-ya's

Hi fld20, we have 64 days to go! I also work out at home and I just did a Denise Austin dvd today too as a matter of fact!

Well, my weigh in was about what I'd expected. I did not go down, but I'm hoping that water weight is the reason(TOM). I think if I really watch the salt I'll be down in another day or two. I had soup tonight though so there goes my sodium for the day! I am so impatient with weight loss!

Does anyone know if sodium has an effect on cravings or appitite? Just curious. I rememeber a friend talking about a diet that restricted salt for some reason like that. Hmmm.....just curious.

fld20 menioned shopping and you two are talking about purses, now I want to go shopping. I have been so bummed out with this extra weight that I don't even want to buy any clothes until I'm down a size. Maybe that will be a treat for myself too, a small shopping spree just to feel polished up a bit.

Did anyone else notice the fat chicks home page got a face lift? Pretty cool looking!! Back to purses Thinner,I thought about selling a few of mine on there also....ones I just don't use anymore.........because you just can't get anything in a yardsale..maybe a couple bucks if you're lucky....expensive purses are really meant to keep unless you're a millionaire and can afford to just dump them and throw them out.....i SHOULD START A FOSSIL PURSE RESCUE!!!........LOL!!!anyway I guess I'll go...I'm scoping out another one just like the one I missed out on and it ends about 8:30 or somewhere around in there!!! But it's higher which sucks......

Hi :) May I join your challenge? I would love to lose 15#'s by Christmas. So far I'm flipping thru an ESF book that I have, and may follow that for a little bit.. otherwise, I'm just counting calories. I'm trying to stay within 1200-1400, and getting some exercise in.

Wii Fit looks like a lot of fun, my roomates and I have a Wii... but sadly I havn't played it much :x May have to change that! :D

Take care everyone and good luck~! Dont forget to drink your water! :D

Everyone is welcome to join. Make sure to check back and let us know how you are doing.

Yesterday went well for me and I was right on Target with calories. I only did two short walks with my son but I'm trying to move more. I know I need to build slowly so I don't burn out.

Today, I'm off to a good start. I'm going to clean house and do some sit ups and push ups before showering. I'll walk to the post office and probably go for a quick walk before dinner. We are having sushi which is a nice healthy treat!

Keep up the great work all of you. Remember that Christmas isn't too far away. It's extra motivation that we'll be seeing our families at that time. It would be nice to be a size smaller when we see them!

Hi everyone! No change on the scale yet but I feel pretty good. I think in another day or two I should be down at least a smidge. I better be or I'll need to take things up a notch. From reading all of your posts it looks like everyone is really doing well. Way to go! :carrot:

Thinner&Shelbysmom-I stay home with my kids too, well, I stay home while they go to school. I just haven't gone back to work yet. (I have a little part time gig I do from home but it doesn't bring in nearly enough money) If my husband would get one of those big fat honkin' raise$ I'd keep staying home! I think I'll have to get a job soon though :(. Right now though, it's still easier so I can be home when they are out sick and all that. Plus, they need rides to and from school. Anyway, you'd think with them at school I'd have all the time in the world to workout, but somehow that always ends up at the bottom of the list :?:. I always seem to find a million other things I feel like I should be doing instead. I guess that means I need to stick to my 1st thing in the morning workout. I skipped it this morning thinking I'd get it in later, but big suprise, haven't done it yet! I'm so tired right now I might just forget it for tonight. Maybe I'll do extra tomorrow. That sounds better to me.

Bekko- I calorie count too. Easiest way for me to stay accountable.

Amy- Keep checking in here because we all need the support and an occasional kick in the *@!.

Asparagus- How do you like the 30 day shred dvd? Is that just Jillian? Does it have lots of options?

Won't it be so nice to feel healthier and closer to goal during the holidays? My goal for tomorrow is to do extra exercise and keep my calories in check. Keep up all the good work! ;)

I totally do that, pick at my kids food. Why do I feel the need to taste everything that they eat? It's not even that good most of the time, lol!

Also, I weighed this morning. I was sure I'd be down the tiniest bit, but no. I feel like I should be. You know, that slightly leaner, less puffy feeling. I even feel like I can see it on my face a little. Nothing anyone else would notice, just that very subtle difference that you notice yourself. I'm a little bummed but I'm not going to be discouraged, because I feel good and I know if I hang on a couple more days the scale will show it.

Hi All!!
Long time no post ;)
Well... it's been interesting this week-- I was about 200 calories above my "goal", but I guess I'm dancing more in classes than I thought I was, because I'm DOWN! :) :carrot:

Lol-- I saw a thingie about wii Fit ages... (I'm 23) I used to do my weigh-ins and challenges in the middle of the afternoon or evening, and get 19, 20, and 21 occasionally... But lately, I've been doing them first thing in the morning, so I remember to weigh in, and I can do the rest of my exercises later that day if I have time: and I've been getting 24's consistently! My Mii doesn't seem too upset about 24.. but golly.. those 19s were nice.. lol :)

One day- I fell off the board (quite literally.. I didn't get hurt, though) and I got a 45!!!! :O

Alright!! Off to plan for a Dance Party tonight!
Good job on keeping up the hard work, everyone!!!

Happy Monday! Sounds like everyone is doing well. The lbs are coming off, that's great!

Welcome Katie. What kind of plan are you doing? We have 58 days to go :tree: so I think your goal sounds attainable.

I had a crazy busy weekend and I have to say I'm really glad it's Monday and I can get back to my own routine. I was down 1 on Sunday, finally! (I can't change my ticker yet though because I'm actually at 146 right now. I refused to move it when I went up by 2. When I hit a lower weight I don't like to move it back up after that.)
I really feel like I should be down another lb anytime. I just have to stick with it and KNOW that this will happen! I get so impatient...I guess the important thing is that I'm only making the changes I can live with long term. So that makes for slower weight loss I guess. But, I'll take what ever I can get, no complaints.

I really am trying to envision the holidays and how I want to feel and look. I'm thinking about some of the tops that are a little snug and how I really want to put those on by Christmas, and how on New Years day I want to weigh in and see a number that I'm content with. I would love to be down a pant size! That would really be great. I'm short with serious hips, so 5-10 lbs makes a big difference in my clothes. What kind of things are you all looking forward to reguarding your weight loss?

weegreenlassie- I do my official weigh in on Tuesdays. But, if I hit a lower weight on any other day then I count that too. So, Tuesday and anyday that's a loss day. I don't even really count the gain days because I feel like that will just discourage me. I just work to get back to where I was (like I'm doing now), and continue on. I don't handle failure well, Lol!

:hohoho:

Hi everyone! I hope some of that motivation rubs off on me right now. I'm still holding that 1 pound loss. Doesn't sound like much after watching Biggest Looser last night.

I've upped my water intake, I don't think I was drinking nearly enough before. I really think I can feel a difference.

I think I'll have to be careful to watch my calories and up my exercise a little too. I feel like my body is so used to what I do that it's gotten complacent with this. I feel great, like I should be down again soon, but it's not coming. I'll have sort of turn things up a notch!

I'm not down any but my stepdad asked me if I'd been losing weight and told me how he could definatelly tell . So that made me feel pretty good .That'll give me some motivation to go on till the weight starts coming off again .

Well, weighed in today. Nothing lost. nothing gained. I know thats normal and its normal to be discouraged but all i can do is trudge forward and keep trying. I knew the first 15 came off so fast, guess my body needs to catch up before it can lose more. Oh well, moving on.

I'm exactly where I was last week. I feel like I lose focus on weight loss when my plate gets full with other things. Between custom orders in my online shop, shipping, my son, my husband, keeping up on housework, winterizing, vacation etc. I've just lost focus.

Boy do I need you guys! I wish I lived close enough to one of you to have a walking buddy. I've been looking for one for almost 4 years and have yet to find someone I can count on. Ugh! I'm eating light today, started with Cheerios and hope to finish my custom orders so I have time for that darned elliptical. At least I walk to and from the post office daily. =0)

I would be your walking buddy! I need it. I've totally lost focus too. I stopped writing down my calories for a few days. Of course, I thought "I'll be fine, I'll keep track in my head" :nono: Bad idea. Then, before I know it, I'm completely off plan. I need to get back on track this coming week. I need to get pepped up again. Weegreenlassie, you sound like your doing really well, way to go! I think I better read around 3fc tonight to get myself motivated.

For those of us that are needing some inspiration :goodvibes :cheer2:

Inspired~You're doing great!!and I know what you mean by getting discouraged...and you know sometimes I want to just throw everything out the window and just eat what I want and forget about it,but you all keep me motivated and this is really working for me at the moment......
...I'll probably stall and not lose anything until after Christmas...I've,or should I say we have 2 weeks before all the cakes and breads and snacks and CRAP start rearin' their ugly heads at us for the holidays and it's going to be even harder for me than it is now...You all probably have batter will power than I do,but I love turkey and dressing and cranberrysauce, brocolli casserole.oh Lord and I am not going to torture myself....no sweets though...well pumpkin pie and million dollar pie!!LOL

Aiming for my 10%!!! So I have 12.2 more lbs. to go..! That may actually be too low of a goal, but with the Holidays coming I don't want to aim too high, because I want it to be a reachable goal.

Hi Chicks. 45 days to go! I've really had a bad week with food. I had an event to go to yesterday and I think I was a little stressed out about it so my diet was totally out the window. The halloween candy has got to go! But, this week I'm re-focused and determined to be down on my weigh-in day. :carrot:

This week I'm going to track my calories and make sure I get some kind of exercise in every day. And drink my water, too!In 45 days I have plenty of time to loose a few more pounds at least. I'm only down 1.2 at this point. But it's something.

What's everyone else up to? Any specific strategies or changes you're making to make this happen?

I'm going to start my turbo jam routine tomorrow, so hopefully that will help push my weight loss along.;)

Anyway I hope everybody is alright,I just wanted to bump us up!!!

Well, I'm still trying to pull this off. I realized this week that I was underestimating my calorie intake. I really wasn't being as careful as I need to be. I have been getting on the treadmill though so hopefully my weigh in tomorrow will reflect at least a little bit of effort. I have recorded every calorie today and I'm trying to stay on the low side.

:clause: 41 days to go! I already feel the holiday treats calling to me so I have to get a grip and loose a few lbs. If I don't have some self control right now things will get ugly come Christmas, lol...

shelbysmom- How was your party? Did you serve any treats?

Is it okay if I j ump in at this point. I had surgery in July and lost 25 pounds in three weeks because I couldn't stand to eat. Now that was a first for me. lol.

I've gained 15 of i t back and feel so bloated and sluggish. I'm going to start counting calolories tomorrow and try to eat healthier.

I'd like to take the 15 off before Christmas, but I'm shooting for 10. That's doable, if I just will do it.

I'm going for 13 pounds, although it's a bit unrealistic. It's the only way to keep me honest. And if i don't make it, I know I'll be a heck of a lot closer.

OK first of all we were on the 3 page.....2nd of all...TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is everybody? I didn't weigh this week.....TOM is here with a vengeance plus DH has been out of town and I've been depressed so I figured it best NOT to weigh this week......for the scales safety anyway!!lol
Southern girl...Red Kat and Divine welcome!!!I'm glad ya'll joined in...well as far as goals are concerned...yea I did set one...but I know now that I won't be losing 9 lbs in like 5 weeks,so....this is my plan, like RedKat said...whatever I lose atleast I'll atleast be closer to my goal than farther...I'll still be happy, because right now I'm 15 lbs lighter than I was last Thanksgiving...BIG +++ and 20 lbs lighter than when I even started...and the way I look at it,if it takes me another year...and just 15 more lbs I know I'll be looking back to this year saying "Atleast I'm 15 lbs lighter than I was last Thanksgiving" and I'll be happy because I'll know...KNOW...that I've been trying, maybe not as hard as some of the chickies on here but harder than I ever tried before..... what would make me miserable is to look back and say I'm heavier this year than last year I do not want to do that ya'll...I just don't...So anyway I hope ya'll come back and say hi!!have a great weekend!!

Hi everyone . Well i'm down to 185 now but still kind of losing slowlly so I think I might up my calories a bit and see if that helps . But on a plus note my to tight pants no longer fit right . Their not quite baggy but they tend to slide down which is great !

Hi all~ I thought I'd better check in. I have to be honest and confess that I have not done well lately. I had big plans when this thread started, but, I just can not seem to stay consistant with my food and exercise. I'm definitly not giving up though. I've got a new exercise plan in place now and I really am making an effort to loose SOMETHING before Christmas. I will keep checking in to see how everyone is doing and hopefully, I'll be able to report a loss soon.

fd20-Congrats on the looser pants! That's a NSV and it totally counts!

We still have a full 32 days to go! 4 weeks is still plenty of time for some progress. Hang in there everyone! :tree:

Hey All :)
I've been out of commission for a while: I got sick :(
On the bright side, though, I'm down to 164.4-- that's just 4.4lbs to go before christmas, and I'm PRETTY sure I can do it... If I can just stick to the plan... lol (though, I feel like that's what I've been doing all along, but.. lol I guess not ;))

This goal feels like it started FOREVER ago, but now that we're crunching toward thanksgiving-- I'm really glad I decided to start when I did ;)

Keep truckin' everyone!! :)

I have been kicking around the same 2 pounds for 3 weeks now and I want to start the losing game again....I am still in the challenge-this time of year is so hard for me: I love to bake, collect recipes, eta, I have 4 children, I work in a school (there's always goodies in the breakroom), etc...all excuses I know!
