Wink 5K's or NOT 5K's ~ That is the ?

Our 3FC 5K's are really slacking in participation.....we had such great success in the previous races we may not need them anymore

I am aware the newness has passed. What I would like to know is it still worth it to have them. I asked this before and there seemed to be enough interest but I am not so sure now.

I will put a TROT together for the USA Thanksgiving if there is enough interest...if not, we will try again some time next year.

EDIT ~ This is a multiple choice poll.

there actually is a 5k in my area on US thanksgiving day that I'm thinking about signing up for... I'd definitely be in. Nothing like 3.1 miles before dinner to at least get the body working to digest all that food!

I just found a 5k in my area for 11/22 - - two days after my birthday. I am trying to get back into running using C25K. This could work out great! Count me in!

I'm actually doing a 5K tomorrow, the race for the cure for breast cancer. Unforunately when I signed up for the last one, I couldn't find the post again to report what I had done .

Gary, I am really getting into these. We can't stop now. Maybe when it's -12 below zero in Jan. I might not want to. Hey, I could always do it inside, right?

Cool, that will be my first! I do Week 9 of C25K this coming week - the final week of the program! I can hardly believe that . Of course, I'm not actually running 5K yet, because my pace is slower than theirs. More like about 2.25 miles or so last week, but I ran for 28 minutes. But Thanksgiving is a few weeks away yet .

SNOOZLES ~ We have a magazine called RACEPLACE in our area...it is online too, that tells us current and future 5K's. You can look in the local sports pages. Most of the 5K's we do here are all around our very own neighborhoods....we just go online and mapmyrun a course...or we get lucky like having the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot's going on too that we can pay and join to support a cause.

One advantage....the 3FC 5K's are free!!

If the participation is getting low, maybe the US Thanksgiving 5k could be the last one for the year and we could restart early spring. Just a thought. I'm game to do one every few weeks myself as I'm doing them inside if I can't get out.

I'm interested for sure. I want to do this superhero 5k here in Asheville on 11/8, but I don't have the $25 fee they want. So, I definitely need something free.
