WW Clubs and Groups - PINK FLAMINGO CAFE - Open for Business 4-15-02

WELCOME EVERYONE to the PINK FLAMINGO CAFE ! :) We're open for business again...under new management! ;) Feel welcome to enter the cafe, pull up a chair, kick off your shoes...and feel free to order a...bottle of nice cold sparkling water (or whatever else floats your boat cos goodness gracious some days we need something a little stronger) ;) from the bartender ;) and let's talk about the program. The program being...Weight Watchers...now if you're doing something else...another weightloss plan--fine; however, you'll probably find that Weight Watchers is discussed here.

I'd like to give y'all a little history about the beginning of the PINK FLAMINGO CAFE. This was a cafe...excuse me...a thread that was started about 3-4 years ago (time flies when you're having fun) by a lady by the name of Kathy. From what I remember the woman loved pink flamingos and there were a group of us that posted to each other who really had fun, getting to know each other...and helping each other to lose weight. For some reason (that I cannot remember) the cafe closed its doors but...now its back! :D

So...if you will join me...that would be wonderful!

About me. I've been going to WW for a long time. I've lost a lot of weight. Unfortunately I've gained a lot too. But with a fresh start on Saturday (which I will talk more about later) this is my last time I'll ever be joining WW again.

So...c'mon...have a seat...and let's get to know each other...

Gail

Hello

I remember the Cafe but never posted there. I would be happy to come visit often.

I will stop in later - got lunch time errands to run

Hi Gail and Joyce...

I am here. My name is Pat. I just joined WW in Jan 2002. I wanted to start 2002 on the right foot, as well as a new life. It's a long story, but as I get so know everyone, (that don't know me), I will post more. With WW I have lost 12 lbs, and before starting WW had lost 13 lbs, so it's the grand total of 25 lbs I have lost and I am so happy and feel so much better, but I do have my moments that I need support and help with the program.
You will see me here as much as I have time to post.

Just got back for my 1 mile walk, well, little bit more than one mile. It's a warm, sunny day here in PA, had my bottle of water with me too.

Will be back later.... to everyone... come on in!

Pat

I just LOVE the color of this place! Pink was my childhood favorite color. Unfortunately as I grew and my weight alone with it, I tend to go for the darker colors. But I'm looking forward to lightening up in more ways than one.

I'm Christine and I've been trying to follow WW since September of '99. I've gone down then back up, NOW though ladies I'm starting on my way back down and I'm feeling good about that.

I definetly need people to talk program with because I find that it helps focus me. And it gives me that mental nudge when I reach for something bad. In order for me to reach my goal (which BTW, I haven't a clue as to what that might be just yet), I need to live and breathe and think about..the program.

I can mention two successful things I did today....I walked with Pat  and when I went to the snack bar instead of getting junk food...I got....a yogurt. Full fat yogurt but worth the same points as a bag of junk food and better for me.

I'll be back....gonna go grab a bottle of water.

;)

Hi Joyce, Pat and Christine!

Joyce, be sure to come back now...'kay? :)

Pat, you're doing wonderfully! 25 lbs. gone FORVER! <high five!> I miss walking. Thought I would never say that--ever since I fractured my foot and sprained my ankle I have to be really careful--doctor says its going to take 4-6 weeks for it to heal...and I'm into the second week. Gonna be a long 4-6 weeks for me! I look at my treadmill...and now I say "I'm sorry" to the treadmill when I pass it by!

Christine, you know what? I say our mission when we meet in June is to buy you a hot pink tee shirt of some kind! :) Good for you for walking today! <high-five!> Is it warm where you and Pat are? Cos its HOT here and tomorrow its supposed to get near 90! The air conditioning in this building had better be turned on! :s: I don't do sweat while I work!

I probably need to explain about the re-joining on Saturday morning: My youngest daughter is going with me. We're going to bond on Saturday mornings! :) Both of us have be talking and we swear this IS IT--we're going to get to goal! Make lifetime! Together! However, I am on program and have been for the past 5 days straight--very proud of that I am!

Later!

Gail

Ok, I need a new avatar....I'm thinking something PINK! LOL Man I hate searching for those things.

Joyce - The former Pink Flamingo Club was before my time too. Hope you can come back soon!

Pat - Girl I am tired from that walk and my legs hurt.

Gail - I hope your daughter sticks with it this time. Yes it's warm out there...I have a fan running here at my desk right now and my fingers swelled up when I was walking from the heat. They've settled down a bit now. Oh yea a bright Pink t-shirt, neon even.

Does that mean I need to drink more water. I carried a bottle of water with me and had almost another one finished sitting on my desk. I'm drinking diet decaf tea right now and when I finish that little bit of water I'll have 6 in for the day. I'm thinking the summer months that I may have to increase this. Which of course means that I'll get re-acquainted with all the ladies room from here to there and back.

I'm back.........

I had to go to the bank. Paid some money on our college kid's credit card. He's in Fairbanks at the Univ of AK. Instead of us sending him money over that distance, we made arrangements with him to do it this way. Works out fairly well. I think we trust him enough to buy what he NEEDS and not just what he WANTS. Then bought a new t-shirt for a care package I'm fixing up for him. He wanted me to send all his Russian dictionaries that he left at home. He took 4 years in high school and now he's taking Russian again for college credits...... whew, I'm rambling.........

Well, I was typing this and I got a call from him.. He's got 2 hours more of daylight than we do and he wants to know why we are only about 7 minutes different in the morning and almost 2 hours in the evening. College kids

I stopped at Wendy's for lunch - 13 points. 6 for breakfast. 12 points left to max out. I can do it. Thank you you Sharon and Gail for the weekend help.

We can do this together.

I have to run - talked to ds too long.

Yep, Christine, you're going to have to start drinking more water but that's really good as water will help you lose weight and will hydrate your complexion. :) You will look mahvalous, dahling! :) I'm not too savvy when it comes to avatars really...I would like to find a cute small pink flamingo...but where to go...I'll check that out later. DD#2 swears this is it for her. She will have about 30-40 lbs. to lose...maybe not even that much.

You've most welcome Joyce! The three of us got each other through the weekend on program! <high-five!> :D Thank you for helping me! :D I think that is so sweet--a care package--I bet those are fun to prepare for your son. :) I have fallen in loooove with those new salads at Wendy's. I've found that I don't have to use the sour cream or eat the tortilla chips with the taco supremo salad. I only use 1/3 of the packet of the almonds and 1/2 of the dressing for the mandarin chicken salad--that really cuts the points down!

Gail

Ah Joyce that's a good question. Why is it different by that much? LOL Let's see I'm at 4+5+3+4=16 points for the day. I'm at the 28-33 point range so I have 12 to minimum. I think I can do this!

Gail - When I start looking for gif and icons and stuff like that I get all confused. Of course all the popups that come up disturb the heck out of me. I'm sure if you type in flamingo gif or something like that you'll come up with something. Wish I only had 30-40 pounds to lose. <sigh> But I will not let that get me down.....

Ok, it's about time I got ready to go home for the day. I'll check in later this evening. I've got to go to the grocery store and get something food in the house. I should make up a menu before I go. Gosh, things to do things to do.

Hi!

Can't stay. I just wanted to check in. On program. I don't have time to eat anyway. :) I will be going to w.w. tomorrow night. I will see how much damage I did over two weeks of awful. I have been very on program for the last week and believe I have lost 4 of the 5 or so gained.

Talk to you soon! I hope!

Well, it's time to go home and prop my feet up with a glass of decaf iced tea and relax. HA Don't I wish. Gotta leave work so I can go home and work - but not very hard. ;) :D

But I will stay OP. If I state that here I will keep to my promise.

I'll try to get on from home later tonight.

Have a good evening everyone :)

Pat - Don't work to hard. And btw, I liked what you said early today to me at work...about moving before vacation! Did you check that place out ?

Sharon - don't concentrate on the two weeks of being bad. Sounds like you already have a head start on going downward on those scales.

Joyce - Ah, yes diet decaf ice tea. My addiction. Truly it is. I have to watch myself on I'll drink nothing but ice tea. Today I got 2 bottles of water in and then a bottle of ice tea. I need something more now, just had ham for supper.

I'm at my minimum of 28 points right now. I might get some skinny cows at the store. Last week I saw that my store had the weight watcher ice cream sandwiches but they were like 30 cents more than skinny cows. This house needs food badly. Now to just make some good choices. At least I won't be going shopping while I'm hungry.

Hi everyone! :D

Hey Christine, just got an idea for you! You need to buy a bag of Tootsie Roll pops! Yep, you just read that right--I'm telling you you need to buy candy! <don't shoot me yet--hear me out> They're 1 point a pop and I thought this would be a great fun snack food for you when you watched your son's baseball games! :D See? I'm always thinkin' 'bout ya'! ;) Yeah...me too--wish all I had to lose was 30-40 lbs. But not going to think about that--just gonna start WW on Saturday. Hopefully, I'll be walking again too.

Joyce, we did good this weekend--didn't we? Still can't get over the fact that I was on program the whole entire weekend...with you and Sharon! :D

Sharon, now what have I told you about all work and no play?! :s: You're going to do better than you think, Sharon when you weigh in tomorrow evening!

Gosh all these people who are workin' their butts off--Pat, take it easy, okay?

Just got an email from Judy--she's been here checkin' this place out--says she'll be here as soon as she can! :D  to Judy!

I'm proud to say that I did not eat any of the 6 dozen plus homemade cookies that were brought into the office this morning! I AM IN CONTROL! :D

Later taters!

Gail - Tootsie Rolls, interesting. I'd have to have Dan portion them out for me. I could go through alot of tootsie rolls within one game. I'm a nail biter during the games. I almost can't stand to watch. Last year I would relieve whomever was in the snack shack so they could watch and I could be busy. LOL

Sounds like Sharon, Joyce and you leaned on each other this weekend to get you through. That's what this is all about.....support.

Ok, I'm back from the grocery store and I got skinny cows. Just had one. I really like them. One seems like hardly enough but I'll go to bed and be done with them. I got bagels (3 points a piece), a good breakfast food for a change. I also got stuff to make turkey/cheese wraps. The tortilla's I got are 3 points for 2, 4 oz. of turkey 2 points, 2 pieces of 2% cheese, 2 points, mustard and pickle sandwich slices. 7 points total, wrapped and ready for lunch tomorrow. My son and husband like these also. Let see what else did I get.....chicken, honey mustard pretzels (didn't have the cheddar Gail ), lettuce for salads and some lite greek dressing. I also get a store brand of Reduced Fat Triscuits.

Well guess I better get to bed. Tomorrow will come all too soon. All in all I think this was a pretty good day in this cafe. Can't wait to come back tomorrow. Night ladies and lurkers.

Good night y'all

I made it. Another day op.

Christine - Tootsie Roll Pops are a good idea. 1 point per lollipop and they take awhile to eat. hmmm I guess I'll get some next time I'm at the store. It's been a long time since I've been OP over the weekend. I've been close but not in point range.

Hi Judy, Pat, Gail

"See" you tomorrow

Well, I guess everyone is in bed. I think the thread went quite well today.

Christine-Thanks for the support... I am looking, didn't get the phone number yet in regards to the apt. Oh, 12 min tootsie rolls are 3 pts. I have some in my desk..:o

Gail-That is great that you didn't eat any cookies. It's hard when they are just laying there all day.

Joyce-Great, another OP day for you....I hope to be able to follow in your tracks soon.

Sharon-Good luck with you WI tomorrow. Mine is Wednesday and we have one week left and then I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Judy-The lights on, hope to see you soon.

Nite Nite everyone... see you in the AM... I'm off to bed... need my sleep...:D

Good morning everyone! There is a terrible storm raging outside so I'm making this short and sweet...besides I need to eat breakfast (Special K w/Red Berries and 1% low fat milk = 4 points)...

Christine, good for you for buying yourself some good food. I have to be careful with Skinny Cows--I always want two instead of one. Not tootsie rolls...but I see that Joyce said tootsie roll POPS...big difference there! ;) Yeah...Sharon, Joyce and I played email tag and got each other through the weekend! :D

Joyce, yaaaaaay another day OP! Me too! :D

Pat, apartment?! Did I miss something?! You didn't tell me anything about an apartment! :s: Did you? :s:

Okay Sharon, how'd you do yesterday (Monday)? :s: OP?

Judy, c'mon girl...how ya doin', sweetie?

Okay Christine and Pat, where'd y'all find the flamingos?! :s: NOT FAIR!

Okay...going to eat breakfast...

Good Morning!

Yes! I'm finally able to get here. Hey...the place is looking goooood. :D

Gail - I couldn't find a pink flamingo graphic that I liked (heck of a time resizing the ones I have) so I'm using a pink flamingo drink instead.

 Hello everyone! Joyce and Sharon, good to see you! Pat, you're doing mahvelous dahling.

Christine - Always good to see you my friend. Thank you for the encouraging emails lately. I don't know how I would've gotten through the last little while without you and Gail.

Well ladies, where do I start? The last couple of weeks have been very difficult OP wise because of family troubles, but I very much want to catch that run-a-way wagon again and glue my butt to the seat somehow. I know with a motivated and encouraging group like this we can all do it. I know we've all said this before too...but I think it's time...I really feel like I can do this.

MrsDomino

Good Morning Flamingo's !

Joyce - Yes I like the lollipops but my problem is that I end up biting them which then they don't last as long and it's very hard on my teeth. Maybe I can make it work though. Thanks.

Pat - Time to wake up, beauty sleep is over.

Gail - Actually I did a yahoo search on "pink gifs" and found it. Although I found some other pictures (not flamingos) that I like too. I didn't think this one took. If you want, I'll send the flamingo to you tonight. I already have it sized.

Judy - I've put the brakes on that wagon and it's backing up to pick you up. You're right we are going to do it this time. And Judy I want to be there for you anytime you need me! Sometimes a different perspective on things helps, sometimes just a listening ear or a strong shoulder...whatever I'm here.

Well ladies I started my day out with a bagel and light margerine...4 points. I'm thinking that this isn't going to last till lunch. I think I'll hold off as long as I can then go for some milk. That should then hold me over until noon. I plan on walking again today at lunch and it's going to be HOT out there!

Good morning everyone.

It feels so good to be really OP and not just thinking about it. I hope this feeling lasts and lasts, just like that bunny.

I went looking for an avatar but couldn't find the sites again. My computer at home is just too slow to roam around the internet. And I haven't got a lot of time here at work. Oh well.

Gail - My favorites POPS are the chocolate and cherry. I wish you could just but the kind ya like the best. Another day op and another one on the way. It will be nice to do it this with your daughter. The girl that I used to sit with that I met at ww has quit. She needed back surgery and haven't heard from her since Jan. But, somehow a new friend is always provided. The lady sitting next to me now has lost the same as me and is the same age with grandkids. It's nice to have company.

Judy - I like your pink drink - I assume it is low in calories ;) And I'll help you up on the wagon - hang on. I'll help you however I can then someday you can help me back on the wagon. It seems like we all go through the cycle.

Well, I have to clean up the disks on both my computers this morning. One we have is 8Mb and it's getting too full. So I get to delete, delete, delete. Wish I could do that so easily with this weight.

I''ll be back :)

Good Morning Ladies...

Gail -I was talking with Christine yesterday, that it's getting too much at the apt. I am going to push for an apt ASAP now, and still go on my vacation, just won't have much spending money down there. The stress level is so high I can't explain it. He gets upset with me for no reason, we don't do anything, but go out to eat, I can't watch what I want without him changing the channel..etc... most I go on! He wasn't happy to see the sofa come into the house, but I did get him to clean up his area and clear off his coffee table. I know this unnecessary stress is causing me discomfort and all I want to do is eat... NO NO NO, not going to do it... so, l@@king for apt.

Joyce-If you need a new avator we can always find you one and forward it to you. I didn't find too many good ones, might look for some more tonight. Don't work too hard, come back soon.

Christine-I am up, I need all the beauty sleep I can get. Yes, I got my walking shoes on. It's going to be hot out there... We need to have a fan with us. I got to find some other shoes, the ones I have are hurting my feet, I got a friends & family coupon for 30% off for Foot Locker for this weekend, which is good, since it's payday on Friday. I ended up walking about 1 mile last night too. Had to walk to the post office to leave my tax forms, yes, I waited till the last minute, well, Maggie picked it up for me and I had to go mail it.

Sharon -Hope you have a good day. Good luck at WW tonight, we are here for you.

Judy -Hi, it's so good to see you again. Hope all has calmed down on the VA front. I know you have you plate full and if you ever need another shoulder to lean on, I'm here. I know you're counting down the days for you dd come down from Cananda. Hope this finds you doing well...{{{hugs}}}

Well, I better get some work done, see everyone later...

Ohmigosh this is so cool! Jimmy Buffet music is playing on the radio right now! Feeling very "Margaritaville" in the ol' Pink Flamingo Cafe today! ;)

Okay...where is the velcro?! Judy, we'll just put some velcro on a barstool and you can just stick your butt in here to keep you on program! (((HUG))) I know you have a lot going on right now but you know what? You probably feel like you have no control over so many things in your life, right? Well...take control of the one area you can--FOOD! BTW, your drink looks mighty skinny!

Christine, I have a probably in sizing things down to make them small enough to become an avatar. I bought some Pepperidge Farm mini bagels that are only 2 points a piece. I slice the mini bagel and put 1 t of that whipped pb you gave me on one side and 1 t of whipped pb on the other and eat them that way...3 points total. Try pb on the bagel--that's protein and that might keep you full longer.

Joyce, my trouble is like any flavor of Tootsie Rolle Pops! But I have to keep some on hand for Amanda. She calls them P-Pops! Come to think of it that is what she calls Wayne--P Pop! I have nooo idea where she got that from! That's nice you have a friend to sit with at WW. I am so looking forward to Amy going with me on Saturday--I told her she's doing me a favor! And I miss spending alone time with her too so this will be great!

Sharon, good luck tonight when youu weigh in! :)

Pat, do you think that Grumpy has picked up on your feelings of dissatisfaction with the living arrangements and that is why he's acting the way he is? Have you paid for your Florida vacation yet? I hope you find a place really soon. Start saving your spare change for the trip, okay?

Time to go back to work...

Afternoon! Just got back from lunch. That Pat dragged me across that bridge again.

Joyce - You know what I hate to clean out on my computer....my e-mail. I usually always delete something that will cover my butt should something hit the fan. Then of course I don't have back-up. It's so hard to know what to ditch and what to keep. Keep the feeling going and going and going and going. Hey I found a picture of the Energizer Bunny...you want it for an avatar? LOL

Pat - Thanks for the walk. I'm on a roll and I'm going to be perturbed if the hot weather stops me from continuing.

Gail - I've never seen those mini-bagels. Lenders were on sale this week and I had a coupon. But they are 3 points a piece. Never thought of pb. You mean to tell me you still have that jar of Peanut Butter. Man PB doesn't last in my house. LOL

Sharon - Way to go on banking those points. Now you'll have a cushion should you need it. Are you busy with payroll again?

Ok, I'm tired. I was tired before I came to work and I'm still tired. I got a good bit of stuff off my desk but the boss asked me for 2 things so I better get thy butt moving.

I'm at 16 points for the day, actually have some peaches to eat which will make it 17 points. Don't know if I'll eat them or not. I'm having cheeseburger Macaroni for supper which is 7 points per cup. I could have 1 1/2 cup for 11 points and hit my minimimum and have some lettuce with a drizzle of oil and some vinegar. I'll still have enough room left over for a skinny cow. Sounds like a plan to me!

GailR
04-16-2002, 02:08 PM
Christine, when I see you in June, be prepared to receive a care package--tell me the stuff you can't find and I'll find it for you...like those mini bagels. OH! You can buy mini bagels for 2 points each at Costco--do you have a Costco near you? Uh...yeah...I'm on my last jar of pb. I'm the only that eats it. And always save room for a skinny cow! ;)

Afternoon y'all

Christine - I found some nice avatars but they were all too big. Gotta find out how to shrink them. If you're not going to use the energizer bunny, I'd like to have it. <sigh> I really shouldn't spend any more time on it, I guess. But I wanna play. I'm always afraid to delete old stuff off the computer because thats when someone wants it. Too bad...

I wonder if Sam's Club has those mini-bagels. That sounds good. Sometimes dh and I will have an English muffin with pb for dessert. I keep looking for the 1 point muffins. Thomas's are only 2 so thats okay.

Sharon - banking points - wow - you can save them up and if you want to you can have a little extra one day.

Had my weekly lunch with Jade and DS. She brought her other little cousin with her. Just 1 year younger than Jade. So that was fun, esp when those 2 little girls decided they had to go potty. They wanted to sit on the potty together. But Grandma is a spoil-sport. I could just see one of them falling in.

I think I had 15 points and 2 for breakfast. So I just need to figure dinner out. Have to think about that for awhile.

Sharon
04-16-2002, 03:38 PM
I am taking a couple of minutes, even if I don't have them to take. Yes, I am busy with payroll for April, quarter taxes, classified retros and new monthlies and now teachers and management have settled. I haven't started stuff I need for May and usually have done by now. :dizzy:

Actually I start the week on Sunday with my banking and I have 10 banked. I was short one getting to my min yesterday.

I am sorry, I can't post to all. I just barely skimmed the last few postings. At least I am busy enough that I don't snack all day. I think I will have my lunch now.

Bye!

Thanks Christine, for letting me have your cute flamingo avatar! (((HUG))) I looooove it! :D

Sharon, I'm so glad you took a break this afternoon--you work too hard! Gotta stop and smell the roses!

Joyce, I was smiling when I read that Jade and her cousin wanted to share the potty together--isn't that just like girls? We are always being accused by men that we go to the ladies room together anyway! Do you think that's where it all started--when we were young?! ;) You're doin' good!

Well, y'all aren't going to believe what I did tonight. Not only do I have a foot that hurts and an ankle that is still weak feeling but tonight when I ate soup and salad for dinner, some of the slivered almonds went down my throat wrong...right when the phone rang (and yes, it was Wayne calling to check up on me) and of course, I'm coughing, spluttering from trying to drink water and clear my throat, tears coming down face...and I could hardly talk! I know I scared Wayne to death--he hears me coughing and gagging. And now my throat hurts from all the coughing and I am soooo hoarse! I'm drinking water like there's no tomorrow...oh brudder!

Evening. Ladies I'm beat and I'm ready for bed, but I had to drop by the cafe for a few minutes to see if the music I ordered got here. Yep I can see that it did!

Gail - You're Welcome. I was just trying that flamingo out anyways. LOL I have a Costco membership but it's like 50 minutes to an hour away from us and I don't get there very often.

Joyce - Laughing at the thought of Jade and her cousin on the commode at the same time. LOL Cute! I sent you the Energizer bunny, two different ones. I think it went to your work account. Let me know if you don't get it ok?

Sharon - I know you're one busy lady. Don't worry we'll be here when you get back. How's things going ?

Gail - Girl I think you best be very very careful. Third times the charm and quite frankly I'm worried about what you're trying to achieve here. You're hurting yourself. I'm thinking that you have a tickle in your throat that's annoying. :dizzy:

Judy - How are you doing? The wagon is going slow and we have no potholes on this road in cyberspace. <HUGS>

Well ladies I'm going to bed with 1 point banked. Can't remember I'm thinking that I didn't bank anything last night.

Oh wel gotto go figure out lunch for tomorrow. Pat not able to walk on Wednesday due to her WI. So tomorrow I need you all to pressure me into going myself. I'm liable to say...No I don't want to walk myself. LOL Even if I take an abreviated walk it's better than nothing, right?

Nice Music Christine....

Well, I posted before I left work and tried to attach a gif... and poof, it was gone!  so here I am.

Sorry, but I can't post to each one, it's too late. Was over at dd for supper, had grilled chicken, peas and some pasta. Did the chicken on my George grill, I like it, now dd wants one. Did good today, but not sure how WI will be tomorrow.

See everyone in the am... It's been an OP day for me. nite nite

I was just stopping by 3 Fat Chicks trying to get my"groove" going again and I happened upon the PFC!!! Yes!!! I remember it well and was a frequent patron. I remember Gail and HippyChick ...so good to see you both again! I think that Kathy reached her goal weight or was close and decided to quit WW and she closed the Cafe'. So glad that it is open for business again!! I am so excited to "see" it!!

In case you don't remember I am emmy and I go way back on 3FC back to when there was a major migration here from the WW Message Board when it became impossible to navigate...oh well that is another story. I have been on WW numerous times....too many to count I am ashamed to say. Each time that I have lost significant weight WW is the way I did it. Right now I am very disgusted with myself that summer is almost here and I have not followed my plan for 2002. Realizing that it is never TOO late I am once again starting over. I have all the materials and I am going to ry it with the wonderful support that I have always found at this site.

I am looking forward to getting to know ALL of you and I guess I better go dig out my pink flamingo Beanie and dust her off as the cafe is back in business. That is if you guys have room for one more!!

Good morning everyone...<yawn>...its morning already?! :( Not ready to wake up yet!

Ohmigosh...emmy, is that you?! :D It's been a long time! (((HUG))) Welcome to the Pink Flamingo Cafe! I'm not as savvy with the computer as KathyB was but we can still make it our own little oasis in the desert! ;) And wow, do I remember the "big migration" from WW way back then! :dizzy: Anyway...come back and tell us more about yourself because the other ladies will need to get to know you as we've "migrated" from another group here and we've known each other for awhile. Now...have you gone back to WW or are you doing it on your own? I'm starting back this Saturday...

Pat, good luck today when you weigh-in! Your dinner last night sounds yummy--you did goo! :)

Christine, I certainly hope I'm not becoming accident prone--that is all I need! NOT! My throat feels better this morning although I haven't spoken a word yet...for all I know I may still be hoarse or have no voice at all! BTW, a short walk is better than no walk at all--so get out there at lunch time and walk! :)

Do y'all think we should start another thread? cos I'm still confused as to how long we should let this thread go...

Morning morning morning!

I was walking in to work this morning very very slowly. My foot hurts. I'm going to get out of my sneakers and put my slip on shoes on. That way while I'm sitting I can slip them off. I have to walk today...well I don't HAVE to...but I told myself that if I walked my other usual route up and around the capital that I could go in to the cafeteria and build myself a salad. Great incentive don't you think! Now to just let my foot feel good.

Pat - Girl you have a thing for peas don't you? ROFL

Emmy - Welcome welcome welcome or should I say Welcome Back. I've never been to the PFC before Monday but it's nice in here. Your are absolutely right, it is never to late to start. Hey, we each get a brand new start each day we wake up the decision is ours. Glad to have you joining us. Grab a bottle of water and tell us your story.

Gail - I'm accident prone and sorry to say that it looks like my daughter is continuing in my footsteps. LOL

Hmmm, another thread.....doesn't matter, this one is 3 pages long huh? Everyone just remember to go back and read the one before.

For the most part it's a good morning...well, it's morning anyway. ;)
I'm not feeling exactly up to par...tummy troubles along with a head cold. I've also got some things going on at work that I have to take care of today, but I'm planning on making my escape as soon as I can.
At least I'm not tempted to eat with my tummy feeling this bad. blech!

emmy Welcome! I remember you too! But it has been awhile....bring us up to date! :D Welcome back to the PFC !! Yes, I believe you're right as to the reason the old PFC closed down. I don't know why we all didn't try to keep it going without KathyB... we were working the program just as hard as she was! Anyhow, thanks to our Gail ... we're baaaa-aaack.
I've been looking for my Pinkie Beanie too...little grandson claimed it I suppose. :)

Gail I didn't bank any points yesterday but I did stay OP all the way, and drank my water too. It was so hot here it would have been foolish NOT to drink it.

Good morning Christine and Pat !!
I'll try to email later on today if I get a chance. :D

I'd better get moving...suppose to leave the house in a half hour. Yeah right.... *snort*

Everyone have a great OP day!

Peace

Good Morning PFC

Judy So good to see you again. Hope your tummy feels better soon. Come back and relax with the rest of us.

Christine Well, for the peas, had no choice last night, was at dd and she picked the veggie. Have fun walking today, I will be thinking about you when I'm sitting at my meeting.

Gail Oh, Gail, I hope your thoart is ok, {{{hugs}}}. Thanks for all your support. Yes supper was good. Too bad it was ruin when I got home. Too upset to talk about it now, but it's the last straw, posted a request today on the internet here at work, "looking to rent".

Joyce, Sharon good morning and welcome to Emmy

I will be back later... WI is at lunchtime.. :o

Good morning!

Well, I went to w.w. last night. I am not really crazy about were this group is having the meetings. I may end up on Saturdays at the old site that I used to go to. I am only up .6 from the last time I weighed in 4 weeks ago. I am fine with that. I know I have lost at least 4# last week.

I hope all of you are doing well. I will try to get back later. Still busy!:dizzy:

Good morning again...

Sharon, I know how hard you've worked this past week to stay on program and I know you've worked hard at un-doing damage. Congratulations! :) You have to be comfortable where you weigh-in--that's the bottom line!

Pat, good luck when you weigh in today! :) I'm sorry things are not good at all at home. I hope you find another place really soon. (((HUG)))

Judy, you stayed on program--THAT is good. That is why we have a range because some days you need that maximum! I'm sorry you're not feeling well...take care of yourself...well, the best you can with having to go to work and all...and everything you put up with there too!

Christine, oh noooo...your foot hurts too? Well goodness! I'm sorry to hear that! I hope you get to walk at lunchtime but don't push it if your foot is still hurting.

Know what? Tomorrow...let's start doing a daily thread--I think we're all used to that...I know I am...that okay with everyone?

Whew - moments of panic. I couldn't get my email or onto the web this morning when I got to work. Everyone else was fine. Thought I'd been banned from using them. And computer guy didn't come to work til 8. I had to go 2.5 hours without access. A gremlin had reset a very hard to find switch in my computer to deny me access. Firewalled me right out. But after withdrawal treatments, I am back on. ;)

Sharon - I think that is very good for having been gone 4 weeks. Now I hope you can find a meeting you will enjoy.

Christine - I got the bunny and will try it out. Thank you.

Gail - Daily is fine with me esp if the thread is going to grow this fast. Ain't it great? :D

Well, since the gremlin wasted so much of my time this morning, I'd better get to work.

Is that too corny? or what? Anyway now I am energized and I want to stay that way!!!!!!!!!

My ds just called and they want to go out for steak dinner tonight. And I weigh in tomorrow. So I WILL be good and eat low points til dinner.

Thanks Christine for the bunny

Sharon

Joyce, just because they want steak, you don't have to have it. A lot of those places have fish or chicken or just order fillet mignon. You will do fine.

"yoohoo drink please"...as I snap my fingers

Gosh I'm tired of working already. And to think my retirement statement says I have another 17 years of this crap. Wonder who I can bribe? LOL

Judy - Hope you're tummy feels better soon. I know what you mean about not wanting to eat when you feel bad. Ok are you planning on escaping work early today or did you mean escaping your work and moving on to newer and better things? Pardon me if I sound confused it may just be a lack of water....dehydration you know. LOL

Pat - Well be that way. Sitting while I'm walking around in this heat, practically expiring from heat exhaustion. Good Luck, you look great today in that new outfit. Ladies she's leaving me in the dust here. Gotto catch up to her.

Sharon - That's a great WI. Ok, don't you shake your head. You know what you did don't you. You didn't buy into that...I'll start tomorrow or I'll start next Monday at the beginning of a week. You didn't wait to start until after you WI, you started ahead and now you're not as behind as you thought you would be. I'm so proud of you! :D

Gail - YES That's ok with me. This is working but hey we're such a chatty group of ladies. And since we are going to have newbies or is that oldies....coming back to frequent us, (Which btw is awesome!) we don't want to miss meeting everyone. Daily sounds wonderful.

Joyce - The bunny looks good. I had a devil of a time sizing him, I had him in shapes that looked no where near a bunny. ROFL If that little bunny reminds you to be motivated who cares if it's corny, it works! Hmm, steak...someone was it Gail says that steak makes her retain fluid, be careful. Better yet, Sharon's right most of those places serve fish and chicken. You can do it Joyce. Look at how far you've come....I can't wait to get there too!

Ok, guess work calleth me back. My stomach is growling at me....dang it's only 11:30 a.m. here. I have another hour to wait and a walk to do before I can get lunch.

Sharon

I am actually at a 4# loss. I know what I weighed a week and a couple of days ago and I have lost 4#. Believe me, I am not upset.

Yeah...that's me...sliding over the bar top and hoppin' to get Christine a drink of ....WATER! I tell you the overhead in this place is cheap...

So....Christine, you mean to tell me Pat has on a new outfit and she hasn't said a word about it? I bet its in a smaller size too, huh? :s: :D

Pat, waiting impatiently for you to return from WW.

Joyce, I love your Energizer Bunny avatar! Not too corny at all! At WW we would call that Bunny an anchor...right?! Think chicken or fish tonight! ;)

Yep...who ever is in here early in the morning tomorrow...let's start a daily thread...we're going to hit 5 or 6 pages at this rate today! :D
