Default 2 questions: 1 about Campbells Soup the other about TVP in Casseroles

WIth our Lovely Damp Gross NJ Fall encroaching on my life ( I do love the actual weather Just not its effect on my bod) My fibro has kicked back in and I want to save my energy for things I enjoy. I love to cook but I rather save my energy for exercise or doign something with others
so 2 questions
1 do any of you cook with the cambels condensed soups Healthy or regular and if so how does it effect you? dumping, cravings sparked?
Many of the easy sounding Crock Pot recipes I found involved condensed soup
2 I know TVP can replace meat but I was thinking of tryign it to replace rice in a casserole any thoughts?
Thanks!
Kier

Default Homemade cream soup recipe

TVP: Don't know about it, but gonna have to try it.
Campbells soups: Don't have a problem with them except: expensive, salty, and can't use the whole can at one time so....

From Taste of Home Cooking with 2 Fall of 2006

Editor's note: Use as a substitute for half of a 10 3/4 oz. can of cream of chicken, mushroom or celery soup. In a microwave bowl, whisk 2/3 c. water and 3 TBSP of soup mix. Microwave, uncovered on high for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes or until bubbly, whisking occasionally. For mushroom soup, add 1/4 to 1/2 c. sauteed sliced mushrooms. For celery soup, add 1/8 tsp celery salt or one sauteed chopped celery rib. I cut this recipe in 1/2.

2 c. nonfat dry milk powder
1/2 c. plus 2 TBSP cornstarch
1/2 c. mashed potato flakes
1/4 c. chicken bouillon granules (you can get this salt-free)
2 tsp dried parsley flakes
2 tsp dried minced onion
1 tsp dried celery flakes
1 tsp dried minced garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp dried marjoram
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp white pepper

In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 1 year. Yield: 3 cups (16 batches)

NUT FACTS: 3 TBSP (makes 1/2 can of soup) equals 87 calories, trace of fat, 3mg cholest; 715 mg sodium, 15 g. carbs, trace of fiber, 6 gm. protein.

BODY ACHES AND PAINS: OUCH!! My whole body has hurt me for a week! I'm going camping with my family this weekend with rain, nights in the 30-40s and highs in the 60s during the day. So, if you all don't hear from me for a few days it is because I'm dead somewhere in the woods. Or so stiff and sore couldn't get out of the woods. Can't wait to sleep on the floor of my cold, nylon tent!!! BUT.....I can so I will because of WLS!!!!

Campbell's Slow Cooker Hearty Chili

1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
1 can Campbell's Healthy Request Tomato Soup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large onion chopped
2 15 oz cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 14 1/2 oz can diced tomatoes

Cook the turkey over medium high heat until well done, stirring frequently to break up the meat. Remove the turkey with a slotted spoon and put into sloow cook (at leat 3 1/2 quart size).
Stir the soup, water, chili powder, cumin, garlic, onion, beans, and tomatoes into cooker.
Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 10 hours or on High for 4 to 5 hours.

Reminder: If you cook ground turkey in a skillet that is not nonstick use 1 tbsp of olive oil or it will stick to the pan because of the low fat content.
