Weight Loss Surgery - 15 months after my lapband surgery.

On Jun 18, 07 I had my banding done.

I was a 19 year old college student who weighed 262 pounds on that day. I didn't have much going for me socially and I was scared to be myself.

Now 15 months later I am down to 150 pounds and I feel great! :carrot:

I am a 20 year old college student with a lot more hope for my self and a lot more confidence!

I'm riding my bike for the first time in a while. I'm enjoying working out at the gym and yoga has also been something I have recently tried out (I think it's great so far!). I've completely cut meat, chicken and pork out of my diet and while steak with a baked potato used to be my favorite meal I now enjoy sashimi and salad!

Very rarely do I regret getting my lap band. It has helped me both physically and emotionally. It has also helped me to focus on things in my life other than weight and food.

I feel normal for the first time ever.

Just wanted to share my story! :o :dizzy:

I'm so happy for you. You're an inspiration! I know there are a lot of people out there who are too scared to take the first step (in whatever weight loss path they choose), and it's so great to hear you did and you are such a sucess! I bet there are plenty of people at your school that would benefit from talking to you... maybe you could go talk at a counciling center or support group?

I'm so happy for you my dear. Keep your self going, study hard, learn all about nutrition, and be happy. Now.....remember that wt. loss is so good for you and your life, but it doesn't cure everything. Make sure you are in a good support group with other WLS people. I like the statement "other focus besides food"! Keep us infomed about yourself; you are certainly an inspiration.
