Here we go!!!!!
Our old thread was getting very long.
Anyone new is more than welcome to come in and join our chatter! :)
The weather is great in TX. I am planning a short vacation that's coming up very soon. I haven't lost as much weight as I'd hoped for. However, I'm not going to get disgusted with myself. I have lost inches and that's great!
Let's talk!!!

Hi everyone,
Tina, to answer your question .... I hate tests!! I don't think they take into account those who DON'T TEST WELL. :( Me for one ;) Inches are good, that is a major mile stone.
It rained here today. Now the sun is out and it's muggy.
I went to an all day work shop. It was good, but my eyes are tired and so is my brain.
I was up yesterday. Hopefully it will make it down by Monday. I want to make it to 30pounds before school is out. Which means I need to lose 8-9 pounds before the end of May. I need to get VERY VERY serious about it. ;)
Hope everyone is doing well.

Okay everyone---let's help Susan "get serious."
Susan, You Can Do This!!!!! 8 or 9 pounds by the end of May will come off.
I am sooooo tired today. I'm gonna have to get some rest in before my trip. Last year, I had a sore throat when we left.
Why do we push ourselves so hard before a trip? It's just crazy.
Does anyone watch Survivor? Now that's one way to lose weight.

Hi everyone,
Where is everyone? Please write something!
Tina, when is your trip? I'm so jealous. You deserve this trip!!! :) Go relax! I always get so stressed out before I go.
I'm in the mode to get my 8 pounds off. I'm going to do it, at least get close to it.
Have a great evening,
Susan

It's very quet around here!
Here's a Warning!
Do not use Band-Aid callus relief pads with Compeed unless you don't plan on taking them off. I thought it was a normal pad that I put on this morning. Well, tonight when I was trying to peel it off, my skin was coming off with it!
There's no warning on the box & no instructions on removal. There's a ph. # but it's only for business hours. I finally found a web site that gave instructions.
I got it off but have a cut/torn place on the bottom of my foot. I think I'll write Johnson & Johnson about this product.
So there!!!! The consumer report for the day.
Everyone have a great weigh-in this week.

Tina,
Thanks for the tip! I don't think I've used them before but now I know what to expect. I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you took them off. Gotta get those feet ready for vacation!

YIKES!!!
I was feeling bad about not being able to get into this place. Maybe all of you have been having the same problems. Tonight I was able to get in after the 3rd try. Technology is wonderful!!!
Food has been OK up until lunch today. It was the interpreter's birthday, so we always "do" a yummy carry in lunch.
I seem to be drinking more water, but it might be my imagination. Seems like I'm in the bathroom a lot though. Aren't you all glad to know that?
Exercise is just OK. Still not super motivated. I should be out walking every day, but I'm not. Lazy.
Talk to you later!!

Howdy,
Tammy, I'm right there with you! Life has been very busy here!
Well, I having knee surgery again. It will be May 14. I'm also having a custom made brace made to help support my knee. I'll have a bionic leg. This is all a last effort to see if I can avoid having partial knee replacement.
Hope Tina is having a blast! Having fun sitting on the beach and veggie!! And hopefully have a drink with a little umbrella.
Have a great day!
Tammy

Susan, boo on the knee surgery! Our PE teacher has had surgery on both of her knees. Not a fun time.
Do you think Tina will have a drink with a little umbrella for us? I'm sure she's having a wonderful time, and I'm SURE she wishes we were there. Right?????
Actually, I wish we were there!!!
My son was so excited tonight because he didn't have anything going on after track practice. He couldn't wait to get home to mow. Hope he stays this enthusiastic about mowing!!!!
Need to go grade some papers so I can get to bed earlier. The snooze alarm and I are becoming best friends in the morning!!

I'm Baaack! And, I brought enough rum cake for everyone. Yummy!!!!
I missed y'all----well, maybe not.
Had a great trip.
Boy, what happened here???? The thread was very quiet.
Susan, I'm sorry about your knee surgery. What are they going to do?
Tammy, I don't know why you aren't able to get online here.
I'll tell you about the trip after I chill out and SLEEP.

Welcome Back!!!
I don't want rum cake!!! I want a fancy drink with a pretty little umbrella! LOL
Can't wait to hear about your trip. I'm jealous.
Today I was able to get in here the first time. Usually I try in the evenings, but thought I'd try today when I got home from school. Earlier than usual, I'm never home until 5, and it's about 3;40 now. Tim has a track meet in 45 minutes, so I had to come home and take care of the dog before I head for that.
Have a good weekend!

Howdy,
It has been extremely quiet here. I can tell you that for us teachers, life is hectic at this time of year. (At least for me, but that's no excuse)
I'm having arthroscopic knee surgery for the 3rd time. I'm getting a lovely super duper knee brace, hoping to help relocate some of the pressure on my knee. All to avoid..... partial knee replacement, which will be the next surgery. I was actually hoping he would go ahead and do it now. I left the office, hurried to the car and cried. I just want a normal knee again!!!
Tina, welcome back!!! Rum cake is GOOD! Now what about those drinks? Do tell?
Tammy, glad you got home early yesterday!!! Isn't it nice to be home a little early!!
Talk to you soon,
Susan

Thanks for the welcome home.
It was a super trip. I love the Caymanians. They are a very polite people.....very genuine---something we don't always see very often here, right?
The best part of the trip happened on Tuesday. We took a boat (catamaran) out to a spot where there are stingrays !!!
They will come up all around you wanting something to eat. They feel just like velvet...just don't step on their tails or you'll be sorry. :) Then, we went to a coral reef to snorkel.
Now, I was truly terrified of this because I am not a good swimmer. The captain had life jackets that we put around our waists. That was great because I didn't have to worry about drowning in 10+ feet of water. We saw the most beautiful coral and fishes down there.
The food was great! They use lots of bell peppers and hot peppers. The rum cakes are "to die for."
About those drinks----- I hate to disappoint you, but, I don't drink. Sooooo----I only embibed in the rum cakes. :)
We got lots of exercise,
Would you believe, this morning my scales showed that I'd lost 1 1/2 pounds.
Security at the airports was okay. When I went through the metal detector in Grand Cayman, it went off. The guard told me to take off my sandals. That was it! Isn't that funny.
I'm glad to be home. Hope y'all enjoyed this small essay of my trip.
How is everyone doing OP???????
Tina
Tammy
04-27-2002, 09:38 PM
Tina, a fancy drink with a beautiful little umbrella without alcohol would be just fine!! lol
Stingrays are so neat!!! When we were in Florida a few years ago, we were at a beach off the Gulf. There were so many of them there!
Snorkeling? I would have to get up lots of courage to try it. You are my hero for trying it!
Susan, I agree about being busy at school. We have so many meetings anyway, and now we will be having more making plans for the different students for next year.
OP? Welllllllllllll, some days seem to be better than others. My hubby doesn't get home from work until 8:30. We've been waiting to eat supper with him. That is not turning out to be a good idea. I'm having trouble falling asleep, and then I dream so much. I think it's from eating so late. I may just have to eat earlier, and maybe have some fruit when he has his supper when he gets home.
It has been raining since midafternoon. Not sure how long it's supposed to last, but I'm tired of it.
Bye!

Hi,
All I have to say, Tina that's my kind of vacation!!! Have a great time and come home less than I started! I'm right there with you guys.... my drink would have been a diet dr. pepper with an umbrella. ( I'm an occassional drinker and the word occassional should be seldom to blue moon. I'm the one when friends go out, that is drinking ice tea.
Sounds wonderful!!!! and Beautiful!!! I'll put that one my list of vacation spots and once I have a good knee again we'll go. I want to be able to enjoy it and do everything.
As for my knee, I'm thankful that I have 2 legs and I can walk, I'm in good health, etc.... I've just come to a little bump in the road. I'll get over it and hopefully.... this time it will all work without a major surgery. I have a much better attitude than the other day. I was feeling sorry for myself! I had to stop and think HOW LUCKY I AM!
Tammy, I'm ready for summer. How about you? We get out the last day of May ( I think) I plan to be back the last week, just for the kids and to wrap things up. I hope I'm able to go back then. I have a friend who says she'll come pick me up and bring me home so I don't have to drive.
I'm feeling really bloated today. I had chicken and dumplings last night ( homemade) They were good but my body is holding the extra water.
Sorry for the novel this morning. Glad we are back to writing again. I've missed you guys.

Greetings one and all!!
Does anyone want to come over and do all my washing??? :)
Tomorrow is the day to empty everything out of the cases. Up until now, I've just peeked in to pull out what I needed.
Homemade chicken & dumplings---Yum I want some!!!! I can take the bloating. I haven't made them in ages. I think I'll try my hand at some this week.
Sis, Dee, Kady--------where are y'all????? You are MIA .
Susan & Tammy, I know you school teachers will be glad to get some rest. Y'all really deserve it.

Hi ya'll,
I didn't get to weigh in today because I wasn't moving too fast. I'll give you an up date on Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed.
Pat's going out of town for 3 days so I shhould do ok . I've noticed these days when he goes out of town, I don't go to all of the fast food restaurants.
The chicken and dumplings were good. I use to try too hard to make them, I now have a perfect receipe. Take a large can of chicken broth, can chicken and can biscuits. I add a little chicken bullion. That's it!! Pat loves it, and it is super easy. :)
Tina, unpacking is the worst thing. I try to do it as soon as I come home. Isn't it good to be home! I love the vacation part but love coming home.
Have a great day!
Susan :p (ok I just wanted to use this smilie face, I like it)
Tammy

I agree about the unpacking!!!!!! AND the washing everything up after a trip! Makes you want to just throw it all away and buy new doesn't it?
You would have cracked up when I went to the doctor on Monday. The nurse weighed me, did my BP, etc. When the doctor came in, he was looking at me rather funny. Apparently, the nurse and I were chatting too much and she wrote down the wrong weight. He was trying to figure out where I had gained 32 pounds since January!!! My weight was really the same as it was in January. I have no idea why she wrote down the wrong number.
He is changing my BP medicine to a stronger kind. The BP hasn't gone down the way he'd like. What a pain. I can't help wondering what it will be after school is out.
Take care!

Welcome back from your vacation Tina! Sounded like you had a great time.....and I can tell your gonna have an even better time with all that laundry :D
How did your weigh in go on Wed Susan? Hope it was a good one.
LOL at your Dr's trip Tammy. It's a good thing you knew the correct weight, otherwise you'd have been the one wondering where you gained that much at :) Hope your new BP meds help.
Not much new here. Still working on vacation plans for after school. We have decided to go to MN (Mall of America), now to figure out the dates, and who all is going. Probably 5 of us will go as a group (2 of em kids). Then I have to start saving for my Sept vacation with no kids!! I have a week of vac left until Aug, then I get 2 more weeks... so I'm gonna go vacationing!! I also got my new truck....its great. A Ford Ranger, which is what I was wanting. Of course I didnt want the payments, but that comes with it :p
Gonna dash for now... hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.

Washing Report
Well, I've got most of the stuff done.--just have the delicate stuff remaining.
Tammy--I agree, that was funny about the weight increase. Boy, you better not get that nurse talking next visit. :)
Dee--congratulations on that new truck!!!!!!!!! :)
Mall of the Mainland, huh! Have you been there before? I would love to go there some day. It's so far from us that I don't know when we'll get up there. My husband almost had to go to MN last winter (business). I had hoped to go, too. It fell through at the last minute. Soooo, you'll have to remember everything you do and tell me (us).
Today is a new day to start once again OP. I'm up for it and raring to go.

Hi All,
Congratulations on the new truck Dee!! Vacation sounds fun!
Tammy, I bet your bp will be lower come summer. I know mine is. I still require my meds but it is lower. Let us know how the meds work for you.
Tina, now the washing isn't too much. Good luck today OP. You can do it.
Well Wednesday, I lost 11/2 pounds. It was what I gained last week. Well see when I go tomorrow.
I get my knee brace tomorrow. I'm interested to see how it feels and works. I'll keep you posted.
Have a nice evening.

I know this is Monday which means there was just a weekend, right? Wonder what I did!!!!
My BP has been great since I started the new meds, but my weight isn't going down like I want it. In fact I was up 2 pounds (better than the 32 that the nurse had for me!!).
I went to get my driver's license renewed tonight. I pulled out the old license, and I was wearing the exact same jumper and blouse!!! The women at the license bureau were cracking up. Even the hair was the same. Usually I have a short curly perm, but for both license pictures my hair is straight!! Unreal.
Hubby told me that it is time to go shopping!! I think I'll take him up on it!!

Tammy--that's so funny about your "sameness." You'd better run, not walk to the store since your husband said to shop. What sport is Tim into right now?
Susan--How is that knee brace working out? Are you still having surgery on the 14th?
Dee--how are the vacation plans coming?
Sis--have you seen your mother recently? Hope she is doing better.
It's so HOT here!!!! We aren't going to have Spring--we're going right into summer.

Yardwork is for the birds!
I'm transplanting monkey grass from the backyard to the front. It is soooo hot and I'm just not a yardman. :)
I got out there too late yesterday morning. So, I was out there at 7:45 a.m. It was already 79 degrees and rising.
I'll go out there at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow and maybe get more done before I wilt.
Hope I've lost some weight doing this.
How is everyone today????
Tammy and Susan, are y'all going on field trips for the end of school. My sister teaches and says they have trips planned every day this week.
Later,
Tina
Tammy

Tina, I agree about the yardwork. I'm trying to get the flowerbeds filled with perennials so I don't have to replant every year. My dad had a good start in a couple of the beds, but the one at the end of the house still needs lots of things. I planted creeping phlox along the edge of that one, but I need something to fill in behind it. There are two rose bushes that my dad planted years ago. The one gets rather large. Hubby tried to dig it out a couple years ago. We think its roots go to the other side of the earth!!
We had a field trip a couple weeks ago to a nature center about 30 minutes from here. We had a beautiful day to see the animals and do lots of hiking.
Tuesday of this week we were supposed to go to a historical park about an hour from here. It was storming so bad, we called and rescheduled. With all of the lightning, we weren't willing to take a chance. We'll be taking that trip on May 28. Last day of school for students is June 4.
Tim is running track right now. He has a meet tomorrow night, and that could be his last one. there is another one on the 17th, but I think only the top 2 kids get to go in each event for that one. I don't think it will bother Tim if he doesn't get to go.
This summer he'll be doing basketball camps, Boy Scout activities, and high school band. My baby is growing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need to run!!

Howdy,
It has been hot and humid here. I've worked out in the yard a little. Still have to clean up 2 of the flower beds. I too have perinnals in one of the beds. I love to see everything come back and start blooming.
Tammy, sounds like you've been really busy at school. We finish up May 30. The last week of school, Monday is a holiday, the 2 days and the last day is early release, next day is a work day.
Tina, don't work too hard out in the yard.
The brace is helping alot. It makes me feel more stable, but my knee still hurts some with it on. Surgery is on tuesday the 14th. I still don't know the time yet.
Ok guys, I'm having a tough time this week. PMS and the stress of starting wrap things up for the year. I have to get back on track. How are ya'll doing?

Well Susan, tell us all about it!! Well, actually you really don't need to tell us ALL ABOUT IT. We might now be able to handle anything icky! Hope all went well. Thought about you today wondering when the surgery was being done.
I had to try 3 or 4 times before it would let me post again tonight. I'll need to find a different time of day after school is out. 14 more days!!!
Do I sound excited????
Stopped at the doctor's office for a BP and weight check after school BP was 122/82!!!! That is the lowest it has been since before school started this year. Very pleased. Weight was the same. I need to lose at least a pound before I go back in 2 weeks. He wants me to come in every 2 weeks for a BP and weight check. I think he should forget about the weight. I know I would like to!!!

Hope the surgery went well and you aren't in too much discomfort.

Yes, I can tell you are a wee bit excited about the end of school.
How is Bob's job doing? I hope he's happy and adjusting well.
Will Tim actually be in high school next year?
I have a sore throat today. Boy, it's worse tonight. I can barely swallow. Maybe I'll lose a pound or two. :( Bad way to do it.

Hi Girlies,
I'm alive!! :) I'm alittle sore today. Now get a visual picture, here I am lying on the couch with my knee on 2 pillows (so it's above my heart), wrapped and iced, covered with a blanket, and typing on the laptop. Of course while watching"General Hospital". It's a scary sight.
I'm doing pretty good. I'm sore and I start hurting when it gets close to more pain meds. I dread tomorrow, day 3 is the worse!! I'lll hurt from head to toe. The doctor did say, my knee is bad. It has gotten alot worse since last summer. I can't remember what he said because I was so out of it. Pat wasn't back yet. I'll find out the details on my post op appointment.
Tina, Go to the doctor for that sore throat!!! It doesn't sound good and if it is getting worse.
Tammy, way to go with the bp. Don't you feel better? Can't believe summer is almost here. What are you going to do this summer?
Thanks for checking on me. I'll keep you posted.

I'm glad the surgery went well. Sorry the knee is in really bad condition, though. Keep us up-to-date, okay!!!!??!!
Tammy, give us the lastest countdown to the end of school.

Hi All,
Tina, you got the right picture!! It is pretty funny! :D:D If you were here, we could sit and watch tv together..... I'm really not watching much. I sure hope you feel better. Are you gargling with warm salt water? (I give that advice, but I actually hate it! :)) I actually really hurt today. The 3rd day is horrible, all of the muscles hurt. It felt great taking a quick shower this morning even though it was a little scary get in and out.
Tammy, are the kids wild yet?
Talk to ya'll later,
Susan
Tammy
05-18-2002, 03:02 PM
Tina, I hate sore throats. I used to get them all the time, but rarely do anymore. I wonder why? I'd rather suffer with the sore throat than gargle with warm salt water!!!!! Nasty!
Bob seems to be enjoying his job. Did I tell you that they moved him to the meat dept? Two of the managers came and asked him if he would be willing to move even though he didn't have 90 days in yet. They said they needed a good responsible person there. He was thrilled! Pay raise, but he'll have to start going in at 6:00 AM starting Tues. He isn't thrilled about that.
Yes, my baby will be in high school next year. He is looking forward to HS band. Can't wait to march.
Susan, you should have someone take a picture of you all propped up like that! LOL I did chuckle when I was picturing it. Were you eating bon bons at the time??
Kids have 11 days of school left. They haven't been too bad. I think it's the weather. It has been cold and rainy. In fact, we may have a frost tonight!! Naturally right after I plant my tomotoes! I'll need to go out and cover them later. It's in the 40's right now.
I worked in my classroom for a couple hours this morning. Watched the festival parade in town. Shivered while I watched. I should have had warmer clothes on!
Have a good weekend gang!
Tina
05-18-2002, 05:36 PM
Hi Everyone,
Tammy, I can't believe y'all might have frost tonight. That's just unreal, isn't it! Our weather is perfect right now.
I soooo wish I felt okay because it rained yesterday making the ground nice and soft. I could easily finish transplanting the monkey grass and plant the hibiscus. :( Larry said I'd be in the hospital for sure if I tried.
My sore throat is gone---knock on wood.
Oh Tammy, that's great about Bob getting a raise and promotion to the meat dept.
Gargling is not my thing, either. I end up swallowing more than I gargle. :)
Susan, how are you feeling??
Where is everyone else???
I've been OP all day and have drunk 5 glasses of water. I've always told our son to drink plenty of water when he's sick. Well, :( I haven't been doing it. I am today, though.

Hiya!
Hope everyone is doing good... I started to post the other night, just couldn't concentrate long enough to put the words together. Guess I was too tired.
School is out the 23rd of this month :dz: and we leave for our vacation on June 1. It'll be a short trip, only like 4 days, but that should be long enough to shop til we drop! There will be 3 adults and 2 kids (1 teenager..ughh). Then I'm gonna take another 2 days off at the end of July (no babysitter) and just do nothing, but swim!! My folks are getting their pool up and running, yeah!
Glad to hear that you are feeling better Tina.. being sick is no fun at all. Great job on getting your water in today....water is a good thing when your sick, so you dont dehydrate. Course water is good every day.mmmmmm mmmmm good.
Tammy did you get frost the other night? How did your tomato's hold out? It's hard to believe that May is so cold in places. It's been cold, then hot, then cold around here...crazy weather.
How are you feeling Susan? Is the pain letting up? At least you picked a good soap to watch :)
Time to go...have a good week all...Dee

Hi Friends,
I'm doing much better. I'm taking pain pills only when I need them now, which is about 1-2 times a day.
Just ask me about General Hospital and I can let you know what is going on? This week, I'm sure I'll be watching all of the other shows.
I don't want ya'll to think I'm sick, but I don't gargle with salt water either. I know that it works. ;)
Tammy, I can't believe it's that cold there! Stay warm!
Dee, where are you going on vacation? Any where would be good to me! :)
Tina, take care of yourself! Get better then you can get out and work in the yard. Unfortunately, I passed on a vegetable garden this year due to my knee. I wish I had one. :(
Have a great day!

Good Day!
Dee, ride the roller coaster there for me. I've never been but have seen it on TV. That coaster looks like a lot of fun. Be sure to wear your walking shoes. Wow, what a way to get in your exercise!
Susan, I'm so glad you are better. Are you watching One Life to Live plus General Hospital ? I used to watch One Life faithfully.
Did any of you watch Survivor ? Now, that isn't the best way to lose weight. :D I watched some of the very first one and then picked this one up after the first few episodes. My husband claimed he wasn't interested but would come in once in awhile and ask how certain players were doing. It was habit-forming.
Okay enough talk today----off to drink water.

Tina, I've watched One Live to Live also. However, I'm not picking up the new story line as fast. Vickie has been taken over by Nicki again. Didn't watch Survivor! Sorry, but saw the winner on David Letterman.
Tammy, are you surviving the last couple of days of school?
I'm doing pretty good today. I'm getting tired of sitting in the chair with my leg up. soon I'll be playing again.
Have a great day. It's beautiful here.

NINE DAYS OF SCHOOL (BUT WHO'S COUNTING???) !!!!!
We have covered the tomatoes every night this week! I can't believe that it has been this cold.
I need to get other flowers planted but I'm afraid to do it while it's cold. Hopefully, it will warm up in the next couple of days.
I would love to go to the Mall of America. Now to convince hubby or someone to go with me!
We're heading to Michigan in June. Looking forward to getting away.

Hi All,
Dee--I know you're glad that school is out!!! It's not too long until your vacation. Can I go, too???? :)
Susan, how are you feeling???
Tammy, let us know what the doctor says.
Sis, I miss hearing from you.
Kady----are you still out there somewhere?
We worked in our back yard all day. Boy the new garden looks great! Tomorrow afternoon, we'll plant all the hibiscus and other things. It took forever to get the garden done. It was 92 today! Wow, it was hot!
Have a great Memorial Day weekend.

Hi Everyone,
So what is new with ya'll? Let's see, I've been sitting in the loveseat or the couch for the last 2 weeks. Read 2 books, magazines and watched every channel on the tv. Still nothing good on!! I can give you the updates for All My Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. :) Can ya'll tell I'm getting bored?
Tina, if you get bored.. Come on over and I'll let you work in my flowerbeds. I bet when you get finished planting, it will be beautiful. I love hibiscus!!
Tammy, who is more excited "You or the Kids"????? There is always so much to do the last week of school.
Well guys, I'm sorry to say, I'm missing the last week of school. My doctor would not let me go back. He thought I should stay out. I'm disappointed because I love the kids and would like to have the closer on the year. But my knee will never get better if I don't do what he says. His news was not good. :( I am going to have to have partial knee replacement in the near future. Just not right away. My knee on the medial side (inner part) is collapsing. In the past year since my last surgery, it is progressed to bone on bone and has gotten much worse. He wants to wait and if I go longer without having the replacement since they last 10-20 years.
Not even 40 yet and I'm falling apart. I was hoping when I turned 40, I would be healthy. That's June 25.
Dee, have a great time at the Mall of the Americas. We want to hear all about it when you get back.
Happy Memorial Day!! Thanks to all that have served and are currently serving our country!!!! My hat goes off to you!!!

Happy Memorial Day to everyone!
Susan, I'm so sorry you will have to have the surgery. Wonder how long you can wait? And, that's a bummer about having to miss the close of school. Do your kids give you gifts?
Maybe you could make a video tape to send to tell them bye.
I have a birthday before Susan----mine is June 9th.
Tammy, I'm sure you are counting down the hours now.
Dee, Have a great trip and take notes so you can tell us everything.
We've been taking it easy today. I'll plant the flowers tomorrow. Yesterday, we had a big thunderstorm. Now I don't have to water the yard. Yeah!!!
I've been watching NBC. The Sparks are beating up on my Comets (WNBA). This is only the first game and we'll get 'em next time around. Sheryl Swoops is back this year and that's a plus.
Does anyone else like women's basketball?
We're going to the movies after awhile. Going to go see, About a Boy with Hugh Grant. Personally, I can't stand Grant but the movie should be good. I'll eat popcorn for everyone. ;)

Hi Again,
Tina, if you eat the whole thing of butter popcorn, then you can count if for me. That's my favorite thing about the movies!!! :) Let me know how the movie is.... I was wondering about it.

Susan that's a bummer about you not being able to finish out the school year. I'm sure your Dr knows best though, and you do want to heal up. Join the club Susan, my body is falling apart too.. and just like you I was hoping it would be healthier by 40. Sorry to hear you will have to have knee surgery though.
I'm taking off for vacation on June 1, it'll only be about 4 days. My kid is getting excited about it. She has her 2 suit cases packed already... 1 for the real vacation, and 1 for the sleep over at her aunts for 3 days prior to vacation. I told her she needed to pack this evening (Mon night) as I wont be able to do it Tue. I've decided to get another cortisone shot in my heel... ouchy ouchy... still have that heel spur...and I've tried soooo many different heel and arch inserts with no help.
Hey Tina I have some yard work you can do too :D My idea of a great yard is to pour cement every where!! LOL. Sounds like you've been having nice weather...nice and hot if it was in the 90's. Hope you enjoyed your movie.
Tammy enjoy your trip to Michigan. When in June are you going? I vote we all go to the Mall of Am.....and have a shopping party!!
Well its getting late... have a good week all...Dee

Good evening,
About the movie-----it wasn't what I expected. The trailer made it seem to be a true comedy. I'm talking about About A Boy
It had several very serious scenes in it and a message. It was all British which made some words difficult to understand or know what they meant. All in all, it was an "okay" movie.
Dee & everyone----I'm out of the yardwork business. I recruited my sore throat and cold. No more sweating and working outside for hours at a time. :) Today my throat is okay but I'm still tired.
Tomorrow I go to a memorial service for an old friend. He died of lung cancer. He and my father were great friends. Now, they're both gone. I don't look forward to the service.
Got to get to bed.
Susan & Tammy---Happy Summer
Tina :D

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. What are you doing?
As for me---after church, we went out for Chinese food. Very good. Our son went also and that made it fun. He's 28 but still enjoys being with his parents once in awhile.
I haven't seen a lot of headway weight-wise. I'm hoping for a loss this week.
I bet Dee is having a blast on her vacation.
How is everyone doing?

Hi all! I don't know what I've been doing that I haven't posted for a while. Don't get on here that much. Maybe when school is out I'll have more time to remember it!! LOL
I have been hungry for Chinese food. Bob likes it too, so maybe we'll need to go out some night for it.
I've never heard of About A Boy. We've watched some movies here at home lately: As Good as it Gets, Harry Potter, and Oh, Brother Where Art Thou.
We are leaving for Michigan on the 23rd. Another teacher and her family are leaving the same day for the same town! There are 2 motels between ours. Talk about weird!
My b-day was May 8, and I was 47!!!!!!!! I've been falling apart for years!!! Susan OUCH again about the surgery. What a pain!! Sorry you are missing the end of school. I missed the last day last year because of my aunt's funeral. It was hard not being there for the kids.
Dee, have you tried Birkenstock shoes for the heel spur? Since I have been wearing those, I rarely have any heel pain. It is worth the money to get them. In fact, I just ordered a pair yesterday from Birkentock Central online. They run specials every now and then.
I'm hoping that once school is out, I'll get into a better schedule for eating and walking. Weight is the same as it has been for ages. Sometimes I wonder why I bother/worry about it!!!!
Take care gang! 2 more days with students!!!!

Howdy,
I'm doing good. I'm now getting around slowy but getting around. :) I'm using 1 crutch and sometimes none but only at home. On the 2 or 3 occasions that I've gotten out, I've used both.
I actually get to drive today. For my first official outting will be to get a manicure and pedicure. Of course, I'm going to have to run by McDonald's for a sausage mc muffin. It's been calling my name.
Tina, lunch sounded like fun! My folks love it when one of their kids are with them, and in Heaven when we are all at home! Chinese is one of my favorite. Glad your sore throat is better!
Tammy, have fun with the kids!! These 2 days will fly by!! :D That is weird about your vacation. Where are you going? I can't remember if you said.
Dee, did you have fun on your vacation? What all did you buy?
Don't worry, I'm right there with ya'll on the weight. I did pretty good when I couldn't really get up and eat. However, now I'm struggling and next week, I'm going to be in Galveston for 3 days. It's for a workshop but I can promise I won't be worried about my food.
Just wanted to let ya'll know, that I'm really thankful that I've got you guys! You are the best!!!!
Have a great day!!
Susan :p

Happy Monday to everyone!
Tammy--I KNOW you are ready for school to be out. That is weird about your vacation and the friends. Have a great first few days of summer vacation---starting on Wednesday, is that right?
Susan, Congratulations, girl I know you are soooooo glad to get out and run wild in your car. Oooooh, I might have to go get a manicure. I don't like them fooling with my toes, though. I've had a couple of pedicures in my lifetime and wasn't impressed. :D
I don't think Dee is back yet. However, if you are---- fill us in on everything!
I have so much energy for a Monday morning. I'm going to clean house before it all goes away. Hey, that's calorie burning, isn't it!

You guys sang great harmony on the birthday song!! Thanks! LOL
We will be going to Mackinaw City, Michigan. This is the 3rd summer in a row that we have gone there. Think we like it?????
I have a teacher work day on Wed. I'm sure that I will still be working in my room on Thursday and possibly Friday. I need to go through my file cabinet and desk drawers and throw things out.
I had some kids do a couple bulletin boards for me today. I'll cover them so the sun won't fade them over the summer. That saves time in August when we go back.
I picked Tim up from basketball open gym a while ago. It is hot. It was still 90 degrees and it was 9:30. Tomorrow will not be a pleasant day in the classroom I'm sure. Shorts for everyone!!!
Take care everyone!

Hi all,
Tina, its so nice that you remembered me. I will try to get on this thing more often but lately I dont seem to have enough hours left at the end of the day. Not sure what I am filling them up with but....they are all used up.
Tammy, I am a teacher as well. We go here right till the end of June. Thats 18 more school days and 10 with students. I teach Resource Room special Education so I shut down at the same time as the High School has their last day before finals. I am looking forward to the end of school. There's so much to do and Im having ahard time getting motivated to do it.
Everyone else; I will read your postings more from now on and comment back to you. Right now I have read them but my mind is swimming with all the info and Im not sure I have all the names.
We've had a lousy spring here...very cold and NOO rain. Things are quickly reaching desperation point here. Anyone reading this...please send rain this way.
I have been busy doing some major landscaping. I've cut away sod and turned it into flower and shrub borders. I love to garden and hopefully soon....things will be blooming....Right now things are very slow....and only one or two are blooming.
Tina get after me if I go MIA again.
Later all

Kady, Welcome Back!!!!!
You were not forgotten!!!!! :)
You sound very industrious with all that gardening. You've used a lot of calories. How are you doing weight-wise?
I'm hoping for the scales to turn in my favor this week. I haven't done an "official" weigh in in ages. Guess it's time. ;)
Hope everyone is having a great day.

Weight wise I'm still plodding along. Last Wednesday at WI I was down 44.2 lbs ( I started this Jan 2) . I am thrilled with my progress and hope to continue for a long time. I'm only about 40% of the way there.
I hope WI tomorrow will show a loss so I can get a 5 lb star and be on the way to a 50Lb loss....I really would like to be there by end of June.
How's the weight loss for everyone else going?

Hi Gang,
Welcome back, Kady!! I can't believe ya'll go until the end of June! Boo!!! I know how hard it is with special ed kids towards the end of the year. Great job on your weight loss!! We all need your motivation!!
Tammy, I figured that is where you were going!! I have to make it up there someday! Have fun on your trip!! Smart idea about the bulletin boards. That will make August much easier. I'm not ready to think that far ahead yet. :)
Tina, I'm going to be in Galveston next Tuesday - Thursday. I'm going down for a workshop!
I'm not weighing in this week. I need to get focused and start working hard at it again.
Have a great day!!

Yes, we go right to the bitter end, and yes for the students that I work with , it is over. They have worked extremely hard all year and this time of year is very hard for them. They need a break. Usually I plan fun type, learning activities this month.
Taking a break to get focused on the loss sounds like a good plan. We need to stop and refocus every now and then.and then continue to our goal.

Good evening everyone!
I hope it's been a good Thursday.
I went to the dentist. Grrr.....:D :D :D
That's not my favorite thing in the world. However , this time was okay. He didn't find anything wrong. Yea!!!!! I had a chipped corner of a tooth that he smoothed. Fortunately, it was on a tooth that had already had a root canal. NO PAIN!!!! (Excuse me for shouting. he..he..he)
Susan, I wish I would be down in Galveston next week. We could have a blast together. Where are you staying?
It's great having Kady back with us.
And, we're glad to have Karen and Stennie joining us.
Well group----have a great Friday.

Hi Everyone,
Welcome Karen and Stennie! We have a great group here!!
Tina, I'd be laughing too if that happened to me! I have a tooth that needs to be smoothed too. I'll have to get it fixed next time I'm over at my brother. He is a dentist, so when I need to go I travel 2 1/2 hours to see him. It's worth it. The price is always right. :)
Kady, hope you are surviving the last couple of weeks of school! I'm a special ed teacher too, so I know what it is like. You have done great on your weight loss.
ok, my big adventure today is to go get Thai food with my girlfriend!! I can't weight!
Have a great Friday!!
