For me personally, the perfect size is always the next size down ;)

As for the final perfect size? I haven't the slightest clue. I figure I'll just know when I get there.

I like how Queen Latifah puts it "I'm a size healthy", although if I could could pick, I would love to be a size 8, but thats just me, I haven't been a single digit size in ages.

my perfect size is 4/6 US.
But the perfect size ranges from one to another person.

It's different for everyone I suppose. That question lead me to have an eating disorder. I think that was because I was convinced it was out of my reach. I had such low self esteem thinking I could not do things. Now I'm just reaching for 'reasonable'. haha

Nothing is perfect. I'm not sure if you mean "size" as in body, or "size" as in clothing. I don't have a "perfect" of either one. I'm always going to be a differen size depending on what I'm putting on. It doesn't really matter. As far as my body, well, I can't really tell you. It all depends.

I would LOVE to be a size 6 bc when I was in 6th grade I remember my mother telling me that that was the size where you knew you were skinny. Ever since then in my head I've just dreamed of being a size 6 bc that's my standard of skinny. But I also have several friends who are a size 8 who I think are tiny. Basically, like someone else said, I would be thrilled to be an 8 as that is in the single digits and I haven't been there since the 8th grade...

I have a weird body shape. I carry all of my weight in my stomach, and none in my hips or legs. I'm a definite apple. So, whatever I can get to a flatish stomach will be my perfect size. lol.

I wish I knew! I remember being 180 and feeling fine. I wasn't too skinny, but I wasn't a big blob either. I was a size 13 in juniors, and I never thought I was fat.

And at 200 I felt fine, too.

Then at 225, I felt little confidence.

And at 256, I had no confidence at all.

So I know I want to be at least 180. I wonder if 140 is too small? I know everyone's body differs.

When I was a size 8/10 I was okay. Being a 10/12 was perfect for me-all my curves & healthy, full of energy.

i have no idea. I'd like to say that when i am in a healthy BMI i will be at my perfect size, but i realise that there will always be things that i will not be happy with, even at that size. A size where i can comfortably go bikini shopping for the first time with my friends would probably be my perfect size

Agreed! I wouldn't care if my thighs were huge or my butt was big, all I want is a flat stomach! Genetically, I don't think it's in the cards for me.

I have battled an eating disorder and body image issues all of my life. It took me getting pregnant and REALLY being overweight afterward to see that I was a perfect size for me many times in my life.
I have an overall shape that I'm very happy with. I am small, but I've never been skinny. I loved when I was small and toned - because I'm short, that put me at a children's size 12 or adult 0. I did not, however, look skinny. I'm curvy at any size, and I finally am at a place where I accept and even love it.
So, right now I'm at a 4, but fit into 2s that are inappropriately tight. I'm happy at this size, but would like to lose a bit more chub and just tone up my arms and legs. That would probably put me at a 2 or maybe a 0.

I'm thinking a size 8, because I was pretty comfortable there before, at 130#. But I might also be comfy in size 10. I won't know until I get there :-)

Hmm.. the perfect size. I'm not sure if I have a definition for that. I've felt overweight for so long that I don't ever remember being super comfortable in my own skin, at least not in recent years. I think my perfect size will be when I can get to shop the regular misses size racks and grab whatever I want. I'm in one of those in between phases, where I'm too small for the women's plus size clothing but too big for the regular clothing.

Right now, I'm anywhere from a 10 to a 12. I'd like to be a 6 or an 8. The truth is that it's my lower body that is the biggest issue. If I put on a skirt, my waist is small and maybe a size 8 already. I guess I want my lower body to catch up! ;)

Size 0. Only because size 0s are much larger today then they were 10 years ago. 10 years ago they were a size 4 or 6. Besides I'm 5'1.5", so for me if I'm a lean size 0 my thighs will be a reasonable width for my height.

My butt will never fit into a 0 no matter what I do. I was underweight and being fed Ensure and I still couldn't wear a 0. It just isn't going to happen, even with being a small person. :dizzy:

Wow. We have a good example of how height and shape make a difference. I'm only 2 inches shorter than you but at 130lbs I was wearing a size 10 and I think some 12's. (somebody asked a question related to this in another thread)

I looked great in 8's, so that's what I'm aiming for. I have no idea what I'd look like at a smaller size, since I haven't been smaller than that since junior high.

I thought I'd be satisfied with 10's. Turns out I'm not - I'm still a few pounds away from a healthy BMI. Even though I know it's not a perfect instrument, the BMI is still pretty meaningful for me - I think because it's a medical indicator of health.

For me, I want to look like a 6. I am tallish and so I think that if I tone up, my weight might not drop but my clothing size might. Well, that's what i am hoping for.

um, I guess the "perfect" size ( IMO ) is a size 6 or 8. I will be very lucky if I ever see a size 10 though. I think it was middle school the last time I wore a size 10.

There is no perfect size.

Everyone will have a size at which they feel the most healthy, the most attractive, and the most fit.

This differs from person to person and you may even find you feel just as healthy, sexy, and fit at a bigger size. :D

I'd be perfectly content to live at a size 12. IF my belly was actually a size 12 and fit into pants at that size without horrendous muffin top.

I am currently between a size 10-12, but I still want to lose like 40 lbs... Originally I thought being a size 6 would be nice.. but now I'm getting all curious...I mean, what would it be like to be a size 4?? That seems so crazy to me, so hard to imagine.

right now I am all different sizes. It's really hard to say. I really just want to look good in my clothes. No back flab, or love handles, or muffin top. that's the most important to me right now. Of course I weigh but I need to tone now.

sh315- are you at the toning stage? You are almost at your goal, do you feel like you ar tight, or do you think that after you get to goal you will still need lots of toning?

Doesn't this question also imply that sizes are consistent?

The difference from one store to another, for me, can be as much as three sizes. And I guess the reason is that we all have these arbitrary tag numbers in our heads. Clothing stores want to make you feel good about the number.

So the number is pretty much meaningless.

I want to be an uncommon size, how about that? I want to always look on the sale rack and find my size.

Yep, when I was hardly eating, running 4 miles a day and working my azz off at the gym, I was 112 lbs. The scale would. not. budge. When children's 12 started to fit loose, I knew it was time to let up a little bit.
It's funny because I always feel like I should be around 95 lbs. For my shape, though, I would be wearing toddler sizes!

I'm in agreement with a lot of you, it's too hard to tell what the "perfect size" is until I lose the weight.

I have never been a size 8 in my adult life. I went from kid sizes to 13/14 like overnight. When I've lost weight previously, the lowest size I wore was 9/10. I wore that at my lowest weight, 124 lbs. But then again, there's a lot of weight winners my height who weigh 105-110 and are a size two. It's strange to think I had gained 50 lbs and went from 10 to 16 but if I went 15 lbs below 124, I could be 4 sizes smaller (10 to 2).

Hmm, in conclusion, I will be over the moon to be a size 8 (especially because many stores in Korea don't carry sizes above 8).. but I'm sure when I get there, I'll be jonesing for a 6.

Well size doesnt have to just refer to clothing size, i took the question to mean what body size ;)

Hmm.. I would love to be an "8" but that's not certain, it's more of the idea of being a single digit..
I honestly don' tknow what is my personal "perfect" size since I've never been thin like that, and I'm the tiniest I've ever been..
For my particular ideal body.. I would say Scarlett Johansson~ While I admire toned and fit women, I love Scarlett Johansson b/c she is at a healthy, curvy weight, still thin (not Hollywood thin). I think she has a very feminine/soft figure and she's 5' 4" too.. I love her size and body type!

I love the picture next to Natalie b/c while I love Natalie Portman, Scarlett looks so much more womanly/feminine in both pictures.

a 5 is the smallest i could ever get too--- and at 5 i looked really thin so when i got down to that i let up a little since it was showing in my face too--- but at like a 7 i would be more than happy to get too---currently im just getting into the 9's ==i would love to be between a 5/6 and a 7/8 thats where i was just two /three years ago so its managable---

I already think I'd have a heart attack if I dropped to a size 10 but I think with my height and build that's where I'll most likely end up. But only time will tell! (I'm a 16 right now)
