Congratulations !!! We are almost at the same goals...I started my journey at around 24th June this year and have lost almost 25 lbs so far. I know how good it feels to be thin and how wonderful the journey is.

Fat loss is not an easy thing to do...almost 90 % people give up trying to do that and in my experience people do not even reach 10 lbs loss and give up. We all are proud of you and you should be proud too to reach so far
So keep going and NEVER NEVER NEVER Give up till you reach your goals..

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! *sigh* Nobody ever warns you about the physical strain--hunched over a laptop for hours while caffinienated up the wazoo= weight gain-- STRESS, competition, and bulls*&t that grad school holds. I too gained about 50 pounds as a result of my experience and am just starting to awknowledge the havoc it played on me. I am still a student (getting my doctorate) but have made a pledge, like yourself, to put my body, my well-being first.

You should be incredibly proud of yourself.

You rawk!

Thanks again everyone...

KantuKat, I too am on the (seemingly endless) road to a Ph.D. [in engineering], and am currently in my third year. I know the periods of preparing for qualifying exams and looking for and advisor were particularly tough on my health and dieting efforts. If you're ever looking for a supportive ear, feel free to PM Me.
