Just realized someone else wrote on this subject, Didnt mean that. If anyone does want to talk about the second tape he started I am want to get it, Is it good for beginners?? I really love his first tape, It is a GOOD WORKOUT!!
04-14-2002, 12:36 AM
I like Taebo, but if you can visualize my kicking, and making my moves with a 16 month old, 2 year old, a 4 year old and a 7 year old all looking on like I have lost my marbles, they figure Grandma has gone over the edge. I have them most days too, and by the time they take a nap, I'm ready for one also. So my husband and I get up an hour earlier and walk at least 30 minutes. I hope I can keep it up, I know my husband has bad knees, and besides the treadmill or stationary bike, he's kind of limited to what he can do. He seems to be adapting to walking though,I'll admit some mornings are harder then others to get out of bed. Judy
04-14-2002, 10:45 PM
hey Judy, I know what you mean, My baby looks at me like, what the heck is she doing??( he is 15 months) My DH is always laughing at something, so I do it when he is at work. Walking is very good. I try to incorporated that, with weights and tae bo. what level are you using?? I am still on basic . plan to go up soon.
Is anyone using tae bo 2?
Keep me posted on your progress Judy, ok
04-16-2002, 02:28 PM
Moving up.. I am going to go to advanced soon, keep saying it, need to do it, what kind of floor exercises does it involve??
04-17-2002, 11:01 AM
Hi Latisia, Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. It's been a crazy week. I can sympathize with you, my husband not only thinks anything but walking is crazy, but he doesn't support my trying to keep a lid on my weight problem either. Of course that doesn't stop me, but it makes it harder because I have nobody to really discuss the issues with. Well enough of that, the one thing I love about taebo is that I use muscles I forgot I had. I'm in the lower one but, I think I could probably move up. I also try to do yoga a few times a week to keep up my flexibility, and weights to keep up a decent bone density level. I think my hardest hurdle I have right now is portion control. I drink more water, and try to stay focused on what is a serving size. I try not to obsess about it, as long as I am exercising, but it is still easy for me to over do. Keep up the good work, and please keep me posted also. (((IN Health))) Judy

Hello there, glad to hear from you again. I agree with you on the husband issue to, Mine says, I am not ready to stop, I will cut out he kool aid, then he wants to do whatever!! I have to beg him to walk with me, and tae bo, I would never see him try!! I am going to show him though, and he will regret he didnt join earlier!!Lol Tae bo is great!! I am so glad to have that tape, I am on basic too. I want to buy tae bo 2.. My son was not feeling good, teething, so I didnt get to it. I will though, next week. just stick to basic this week. I really love the fact that every time I do it, I come out sweaty and just feeling revived. it isnt long either. Such a intense workout, that can be built on, or brought down if you need to!! Hey wanna try tae bo 2, and see how it is?? we can discuss that too. well talk to you later, Keep it up!! YOu will see results!!
04-19-2002, 01:36 PM
Hi Latisia, Bob will walk with me, but nothing else. of course he has bad legs so maybe that explains a little of his hesitation. I probably will rent Tae Bo 2 then if I like it will see if I can get it from amazon.com. Hope your baby is feeling better. I know both Hunter and Bruce were sick most of the winter. The baby is in constant hyper active hyperdrive. He just cut a back tooth. Keep up the good work (((In Health))) Judy
04-19-2002, 11:29 PM
Hey, how was your day( my DH, wouldnt even to agree to walk, and he has no leg problems>>>) I went to Hastings intending to find tae bo 2, but it wasnt in stock there so I got tae bo crunch.. It was pretty fast, and the movements had less reps. I will try it again . I would rather try tae bo 2 perhaps?? when do you plan to rent it. Let me know how it goes, I am going to the px next week, I know they have it there.. My baby did pretty good, was a little cranky this am, gave him some tylenol, and he was happy:) well have a good night, and talk to you tommorrow..
04-20-2002, 09:07 AM
Hi Latisia and Judy... do you mind if I jump in?
I love tai bo!! I started doing it a few years ago and lost about 15 pounds. I'm fortunate ... my husband loves it, too, and we do it together.
I'm not sure of the names (the tapes are upstairs, and I'm lazy at the moment), but we've got 5 or 6 of the tapes. We used to do a one hour tape... it was great, but I just couldn't find the time for it, so we started doing a 20 minute workout. It's great... it's fast and I really got a good workout.
I haven't done it for a few months, but I'd like to start again. I just need a little push. I've got 50 pounds to lose, and I know the tai bo would really help.
Have a wonderful day... keep up the good work!
04-20-2002, 08:26 PM
Hi Ellis, I just got on to Tae Bo last fall. My husband has bad knees so couldn't do it if he wanted to. He thinks the whole thing is crazy anyway. He supports walking and we do 6 mornings a week, but he doesn't support the other things I do, such as the running or Tae Bo or portion control. That is the hardest thing for me to do, is staying within a serving. The hardest thing you will find is scheduling time to do the tape, because we all get busy. What I do is schedule a time I'm going to do it and it is not negotiable, otherwise I wouldn't. Good luck you can do it. (((IN Health))) Judy
04-20-2002, 08:37 PM
Hi Latisia, My day has been hectic. I think I pulled a muscle in my leg. It hurts to walk. I think I will try stretching it out. I didn't find a copy of Tae Bo 2 so I ended up ordering a copy from amazon.com. So when I get it I'll have to let you know. I also ordered The Wiggles for the kids. Bob says I spoil them too much, but they are only little once. Hang in there, I'm sure some days are worse then others being motivated,I know it gets that way for me. Keep me posted on your progress. (((In Health))) Judy
04-20-2002, 09:49 PM
Hey everyone, Welcome Ellis, and I hope you continue to post ,and let us know your progress?? What tapes do you normally use?? Hey Judy, sorry to hear about the pulled muscle, hope it gets better for you soon..:) today is my weights day, so I am going to get at that, had company so, i missed it this morning. I lost 3 pounds in the past week and i am really motivated.. It will be gone sure enough.. well talk to you all later. let me know about those tapes, and your progress
04-23-2002, 10:49 AM
Hi Latisia, My pulled muscle is doing fine. Bob and I took a walk both yesterday and today. I did Tae Bo yesterday, and today I am trying to talk myself into going for a run. The day is still young though so I should be able to get it in. Tomorrow Will be Tae Bo and Thursday will be another running day and so forth.I have read it is good to diversify when you get a certain age. I usually take Sundays off. I am finally seeing the results of my efforts though, I am at least toning up. I try to stay within a certain calorie range, but it is higher then it would be if I sat on my behind and did nothing. Hope your baby successfully has cut his teeth, talk to you soon, Judy
04-23-2002, 11:27 AM
Hi Latisia and Judy
I'm still here... haven't made it upstairs yet to look at the names of those tapes yet, but I will! ;) My computer is on the main floor, and our bedroom (and the tapes) is on the third floor.
Judy, you're smart to schedule a time for your tai bo, and "just do it". You're right, it's the only way. Surely I can fit in a 20 minute workout! You run as well... lucky you. I ran for 10 years and loved it, but I don't know if my knees can take it anymore.
Latisia, you lost 3 pounds! Good for you! Your little one is teething... poor darling. My 6 year-old son has his first loose tooth, and my 13 year-old daughter has just lost another one. It seems like they never stop falling out of her mouth! :dizzy:
My husband and I just went for a 15 km bike ride. I was "dying" all the way, but I did it! I think next week I'm going to make a real effort to fit in a tai bo work-out. And I've got to stop stuffing food in my mouth.
take care... have a wonderful day!
04-24-2002, 12:18 AM
hello ladies, I am going to get that tape tomorrow!! i have been waiting on it too long. Still doing well Had another good walk today tired me out real well. Look forward to hearing about how you all are doing!! keep up the good work.:)
04-24-2002, 12:20 AM
Missed that part Judy Congratulations on the changes!! that is progress! I am happy for you! my baby has calmed down, still no tooth, he teeths for quite a while..
Ellis, it does seem like teeth coming in and out, are such a long progress! i still need to get my wisdom teeth pulled , yikes!!
04-24-2002, 05:31 PM
Hi Latisia, I was able to talk myself in to a run yesterday, ended up going to the ymca. Today was a Tae Bo day. Haven't got my other Tae Bo tape yet. Thankyou for the words of encouragement, it seems that it is coming off very slowly.Ellis how are you doing? Have you got your tapes down from upstairs yet? Sometimes it is hard to get motivated. Nobody knows that better then me. You can do it, and we'll keep encouraging one another. Sometimes it's hard to find the time. Keep me posted on your progress, (((In Health))) Judy
04-25-2002, 11:06 AM
Hey I got the tapes yesterday, it is pretty good the first tape has more floor work, but that is intense, I did that one today , looks like it will ge raining soon!! Well How are you Judy, and Ellis.. you all can do it!! I will post weigh in on sat... I am a little down, but trying to keep my head up.. well talk to you all later!!
04-26-2002, 03:17 PM
I would reccomend these tapes to anyone, start basic, it is intense. THe first tape starts out with some floor ab,. hip and buttock exercises, very good, then you are up for jumping and kicking, tape 2 is all kicking and stuff, real good.. 30 minutes a peice, just wanted to p ut my info in. Hey i am op, and did the second tape today! i fee soooo good! talk to you all later..
04-27-2002, 05:16 PM
Hey where is everybody, Hope all is well!! I have lost 3.5 pounds! staying in there, and excited.!! well talk to you all later!!
04-27-2002, 10:40 PM
Hi Latisia, Sorry I haven't had the time to respond to you. The last couple of days have been crazy. I haven't gotten my other Tae Bo tape yet I sure am looking forward to it though. It should be coming any day now they were supposed to ship it on the 22nd. The kids got their Wiggles tape though. Congratulations on your weight loss, I know you can achieve the shape you want to be in. I walked for an hour this morning before breakfast, decided to wimp out on the rest of it. Actually I have started to notice a difference in me too, some of my clothes are fitting me better. If we keep on doing what we can, who knows we will actually be in decent shape for summer(((SMILE))). You are doing a good job kiddo keep up the good work, Judy
04-27-2002, 10:55 PM
Hi Ellis, How are you doing? Have you had a chance to look at your tapes yet? Sometimes I find I get so busy I have good intentions, and they never get off the ground. But then I am a procrastinator. My knees started bothering me too, so I had to get a special kind of shoes. I didn't get anything in but walking today though, and tomorrow is my day off. I'm not sure whether I've taken off more weight or inches, but my clothes seem to fit better, I'm really kind of glad that some progress has been made anyway. Like I told Latisia my Tae Bo 2 tape hasn't come yet, but it should get here any day. Let me know how you are coming, we can make it one day at a time. (((Blessings))) Judy
04-28-2002, 03:22 PM
Hey there, Judy, I agree with you about results. We are gonna see some changes soon. AN hour walk is great!! Walking is so beneficial, I love it!! I will be glad to hear about how you like the tae bo tapes, I really enjoy them!!Ellis, how are you doing?? Hope all is welll!! I still have to do my tae bo today I woke up late, and had a few places to go before it got too hot. but I will do it before i lay down tonight.. Keep up the work !! and we will see some good changes!!!
04-29-2002, 10:28 AM
Hi Latisia, You are right, we are going to see some great results and accomplish our goals. I can't wait to see the video I ordered,it should be coming any day. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo day, today I modified my running, and enjoyed the experience for the first time. I guess I was going about it the wrong way. I'll bet Texas gets hot this time of year. My ex in laws moved to Texas up near Mexico somewhere. They seem to like it. Keep up the good work, and please keep me posted on your progress. Judy
04-29-2002, 03:29 PM
Hey there!! I will keep you informed. You are right about he heat, we are approaching the 90's now. Last year, when i was in the military, I h ad to drag my son in and out of it. He got real sick too. SO now, I am being real careful about exposing him to those temperatures.!! We are going to cool out today.. Hey I did my tae bo 2 last night, felt great... Cant wait til you get them.. talk to you l ater!! ( I did my am walk today before it got too hot)
04-30-2002, 07:52 PM
Hi Latisia, It's a warm one today. We haven't hit 90 but I think it feels like we at least hit 80. I still haven't got my tape yet,I don't know what is taking them so long. Got up at the crack of dawn, and took my walk today, and did Tae Bo when the boys took their naps. I feel pretty energetic. otherwise then that nothing new is going on here. I read something the other day about slipping back into comfortable old habits. I find myself wanting to do that, as far as my eating habits are concerned. Even though obviously it wasn't working for me, it's like I have to keep reminding myself why I am doing what I'm doing. Do you have harder days then others? You sound like you are doing a great job, keep up the good work. Judy
05-01-2002, 01:50 PM
Hi. I've been doing Tae Bo also. I have Tae Bo Junior. I do it with my boys. They get a little rowdy, but it makes each work out an adventure. I checked out a Tae Bo DVD from the library to try out. It had instruction, basic, advance and 8 minute workout all on one DVD. I actually like Tae Bo Junior better, and I'm hardly a junior!:)
05-01-2002, 03:31 PM
Hey all, and Welcome Tigerlily! How is the junior?? Glad you are enjoying it!! Sorry your tapes havent come yet, Judy, I wonder why it hasnt come too!! Oh, and yes, I do have my slip ups, I have to go back and look at my old picture on the fridge to zap back to reality, of no, it wont work to go back and eat this and that..I didnt tell you about Monday, I am on a lowfat eating plan, And i made this low fat cheesecake, It was sooooooyummy, and I could not stop snacking on it that night. SO I wake up the next day knowing I had made the wrong move!! I went and trashed it.. Was kinda hard last night but I had to keep that image of myself in mind! Well just keep at it, we all have our bad days!! Well talk to you all later. Ellis, where are ya?? Hope all is well!
05-01-2002, 04:10 PM
Hi Latisia. Tae Bo Junior is a good workout when your are starting from "out of shape" and I like the idea of getting the kids involved. Although, I imagine I will be needing something more challenging in a few weeks. I've been doing it for 2 weeks and not keeping up with the "double time" parts yet! I just keep my own pace. I've also been following Bob Greene's Get With The Program. It's nice 'cause it kinda eases you into the program.
05-01-2002, 11:45 PM
Hi Sherri, If you don't mind my butting in, I just wanted to say that you should exercise at a level comfortable for you. My all time favorite fitness person has always said to modify so you are exercising at your fitness level. It sounds like good advice, so that is what I do and it seems to work out. It's good you can get your kids involved, my grandsons don't know what they think of grandma exercising like that. So if you can involve them you should. Keep up the good work, Judy
05-02-2002, 12:00 AM
Hi Latisia, I finally got my Tae Bo tapes. I looked at them today, but wont do them until tomorrow. They look challenging, but I know if I work with them I will get the hang of it. I think a low fat diet is the way to do it. I went on McDougal diet for awhile. It did good, but I wasn't able to stick with it. Good to hear from you and I will let you know how I do with the Tae Bo tapes, Judy
05-02-2002, 10:14 AM
I do tae bo at least twice aweek with my other workouts. I love the basic and advanced workouts. My son has the tae bo for kids video and it's a good workout for me too. Ican't wait to get the new tapes.
05-02-2002, 11:59 AM
Hi. Are you gals doing the Tae Bo Live or Tae Bo Original? I like the style of the kids tae bo. It's relaxed and casual in a way. The Original that I checked out from the library...well, it was hard to look past his leotard. I guess I'm more of a tshirt and shorts kinda gal. :)
Has anyone signed up for the inspirational email from the Tae Bo web site?
I sure do hope I can loose some pounds and shape up doing this. I'll hardly be ready for shorts, but some cute capris would be nice!
05-02-2002, 05:31 PM
Hi to both of you and welcome. I just got thru doing Tae Bo 2 since the boys were asleep. The baby didn't sleep very long and Bruce is still sleeping. It was quite a work out, but I'll get use to it. You are both wise to start out on the kids video and work up from there. Especially since you are able to involve the kids. I always have to take the difficult road. Tomorrow is my running day so I won't do Tae Bo again until Saturday. Then Sunday I take the day off. I also walk six days a week, mostly for my hubby. I also try to do weights a couple days a week, some weeks are better then others. Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress. ((In Health)) Judy
05-02-2002, 11:07 PM
Hey everyone! Glad to see all the posting!! Welcome, ksmom!! I agree with what Judy is saying start with what works, and build yourself up gradually. You dont want to over exert or exhaust your body, so you ladies are on the right track!! Once you can get past those double times easier, then you probably should move up.. Just take your time enjoy the workout, the benefits will come!!
Ksmom hello, how long have you been doing the tae bo, ?? when do you plan to get the new tapes, sounds great that you are doing it consistently!!
I do tae bo original, on tae bo 2, like Judy, basic, It is challenging Judy, but it really motivates me to just do it, and do more, and improve each time!! I cant wait until you do the other tape too!! It is quite a workout, Tommorrow, I will walk, then do tae bo again.. I was thinking of signing for the inspirational e mail have you?? Well I will post my progress tommorrow, and hope youall do the same!! Stay motivated!! We can do this.
05-04-2002, 01:47 PM
Hi all, Can you believe the weekend is finally here. I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night but got up my usual time and ran. I couldn't get into it but did it anyway with less enthusiasm. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a magic fitness pill that a person could take on the days we just don't feel like it(ha ha). Yesterday was my Tae Bo day. I did pretty well but modified it to fit my level. Form is everything, so I made sure my form was correct. How are you doing Ellis? Haven't heard from you in a while. Went to a garage sale today, and the lady was selling all her fitness tapes and records. I asked her about it, and she said she wasn't going to be doing anything like that anymore, that she had her fitness level to where she was comfortable with it and didn't think she had to exercise anymore. Poor misinformed person, she doesn't realize that after a month she will notice the difference. Less then that probably. Hope everything is going well with everyone else, will keep you posted on my progress. ((In Health)) Judy
05-04-2002, 03:58 PM
Hey Judy, you did pretty good though, running after very little sleep, that was a good start. That person selling all her workout tapes really doesnt know!! She will regret that soon like you said,, . Well , I have l ost another 1.5 pounds, but had a busy day with my son teething and friend popping by , so I missed my workouts, going to do it today..tae bo and weights, then walk tomorrow.. Hope all is well, and yes, form is Everything Judy, I agree with you on that, esp with tae bo!!
05-05-2002, 12:18 AM
Hey, everyone. I'm glad to see that there is a tye-bo site. I was doing the tapes sporadically. But now I have lost a lot of motivation to do any type of exercise. How do you guys motivate to do the tapes on a regular basis?
If you have any motivational advice . . . let me know. Thanks.
05-05-2002, 02:49 PM
hey stacy, and welcome! I will tellyou what motivates me, (i havent been doing it lately til today.. I post this picture on my fridge, and look at it when i am lacking, also i take my army out and shake it, I did that today!! well and just thinking of where i was, and where i am now mativates me. Imms kick this tae bo in the butt today , been slacking a few days, but no more,, hope this helps you, and also how much you got to lose, what tapes do you have?? look for ward to hearing from u!!
05-05-2002, 09:16 PM
hi Stacey and Latisia, You are right on Latisia she is going to regret he decision soon. Fitness is a life long commitment, just like watching what you eat they go hand in hand. Today was my lazy day and tomorrow it is back at it. Monday is running, and Tuesday is Tae Bo and weights. 1.5 pounds lost is impressive Latisia, keep up the good work. You know Stacey I'm not sure what keeps me motivated, but I keep at it. Lately my enthusiasm has been sliding, but eveyone is so positive, and doing such a great job it re inspires me. I think being able to talk to all of you helps a lot, as I don't get much support at home. I made a commitment to myself to follow thru with it this time, and it has made all the difference in the world. Just keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress. Judy
05-06-2002, 01:10 AM
Ok did it, and i am on a roll. Tae bo is great! ifeel so much better,, and i am doing good again, Hey judy , I do hope this thread inspires you, and everyone!! that is the goal , you keep up the work too, and stay postive,, we will do this
05-06-2002, 11:46 AM
Hi everyone, how are you doing on this Monday morning. Good job Latisia, working out does make you feel better. Today was my running day. Never take aspirin before a run, I did and almost lost my cookies. I won't do that again. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo and weights day. I just keep doing one workout at a time, it gets me thru. Hope everyone else is doing good, keep us posted on your progress. ((In Health)) Judy the roadrunner
05-06-2002, 02:23 PM
Hey Judy, sounds like you are on a roll! that is great!! I did my walk this morning, and decided to extend it out a block, it was so nice today too. I am op, feeling good, not gonna take any breaks like last week!! I hope everyone is doing well today, and will continue!! Talk to you al later.
05-07-2002, 03:59 PM
How is everyone, just wanted to let you all know i got my sweat on with tae bo, it was great!! I am gonna lift weights later!! Gotta do it, tty.l Keep me informed!! dont give up, exercise is such a great motivator!!
05-07-2002, 06:35 PM
Hi Latisia and everyone, How are you doing today. The Tae Bo 2 was a little easier today. Billy Blanks is such a great motivator. Like Latisia I gotta do weights a little later. I think I'm getting a little stronger though. You guys are motivating me to keep at it, though I grumbled thru my walk this morning, poor Bob. But he was walking way too fast for me. Keep up the good work ladies, we can do it. Please keep us informed on your progress. ((In Health)) Judy
05-08-2002, 03:32 PM
hey Judy, how did you do with your workouts?? I bet you did well, I missed my walk, so imma do my tae bo again, and work it out, now!! WEll how is everyone, u know i pst my results on saturday!! well ttyl
05-08-2002, 04:45 PM
Can I join too?!!
I started doing Tae-Bo religiously January 01. I lost 34 lbs in just 3 short months! Then my husband and I seperated, and I lost my motivation.
Now I have started doing it again -- but have moved up to the advanced (was doing basic), because I was getting so bored.
I absolutely LOVE Tae-Bo, and love the way it has made me feel! Only problem, I am SOOO sore today! I worked out Monday, then walked Tuesday (2.5 miles), and today I am going to do Tae-Bo again . I'm hoping my leggs will cooperate!!!
Look forward to getting to know you all!
05-09-2002, 02:07 PM
Welcome Mandie!! Glad to have ya!! Yeah, tae bo can make you sure , it brings that burn on! SOunds like you are doing well!! WOuld like to hear more from ya too.. Hey are you doing tae bo live, or which one??You really got some results from it huh??Well, hope you keep us posted, and wish you all the best!! I do tae bo 2 basic, and I love it, one day, I will work to advanced!! Keep up the good work, to everyone else, hello!! Hope you are doing well!!
05-09-2002, 03:15 PM
Hi! I picked up tae bo live at the library today and will be trying it tomorrow morning. My boys have gotten tired of doing tae bo junior with me. They are ages 10 & 5. If the live version is too hard for me, I'll just have to keep on doing the junior by myself. :smug:
05-10-2002, 10:55 AM
Hi everyone, Welcome aboard Mandy. Well the Tae Bo 2 is definately getting easier. Yesterday was Tae Bo day today was running. I feel myself coming down with a chest cold, so I probably going to take it easy the rest of the day today, I did do my 2 miles this morning though. I'm not sure of the rule on exercise when one is under the weather, so I did what I was comfortable with. I'm not surprised that your boys got bored with the Tae Bo, it was probably fun for awhile then lost it's appeal. You'll have to let us know how you are doing with the Tae Bo live. You must have a great library, we don't have anything like that in our video section. Keep up the good work everyone, and keep us posted on your progress. Judy
05-10-2002, 01:06 PM
Thanks for the welcomes! The Advanced Tae-Bo that I am doing is just the "old" regular studio version (not live). It is really hard! But -- when we did it again on Wednesday, it was a lot better. I'm not hardly sore anymore. Tonight is our walking night (2.5 miles), and I am looking very forward to it!
Yes, the results I got from it (and doing Weight Watchers) came fast and I felt wonderful about myself. Then, all that happened, and I quit doing both things (eating right and tae-bo). Now being back on (almost a year later) -- I feel GREAT for doing it!!!! I'm hoping that I can tell a difference early again this time...and that the weight comes off just as easy (but it never does).
Have a great weekend -- and I'll update more on Monday!!!

i have the 2 basic tae bo 2 tapes. i dont really find them all that challenging. i just turned 16 but have been overweight and out of shape all my life. recently i have been working out regularly (weights, cardio, kick boxing) but i would like to start doing the tapes to get my heart rate up when i cant get to the gym. my problem is motavation. my dad kinda jokes around about my weight, and my mom kind of understands because she is also over weight but gives me little support, my sister is about 5'8" and weighs like 120. i feel stupid doing it in front of them, and i am a huge procrastinator so i can never seem to get motivated enough to actually get up and do it.
05-10-2002, 11:10 PM
Hi Nikathalia,Welcome aboard. That's what we're doing here is to try and give positive support. I understand completely how you feel. My husband can't understand why a person should have to watch their weight, and the only activity that I do that he supports is the walking we do 6 mornings a week. So I do my Tae Bo 3 mornings a week, and my running on the alternate days I don't do Tae Bo,when he's at work. Maybe you should try and get a VCR in your room or something, or exercise when every one else is gone. It's discouraging to have a thin sister. I know all 4 of my daughters are thin. But I guess it's because they keep working at it, of course they've never been big eaters. Anyway you took the right first step, with your kick boxing and other things you do. Hang in there, and a window of opportunity may present itself to you, to do the exercise It's good you don't find the Tae Bo 2 challenging. I guess that proves you are in better shape then you thought. Please keep us posted on your progress, We know you can do this and are here for you. Judy

Hey everyone, Welcome Nikithalia! I know what you mean about not wanting to workout in front of others< I have the problem with my husband, gotta wait til he is gone. If you dont find the tae bo that you were using challenging, you might need a differnt one, or advanced. Well how much weight are you looking to lose?? Hey we people here, are great motivators!! you can do it!! Just put the E in effort, and give it a try..!!
look forward to hearing more from you Mandy, Just give it your all, and you will see progress!!
Tigerlily,. just go at your own level/pace, and work at it ok!!
Judy, hello. sorry to hear you are under the weather. I say just do what you feel comfortable with, but not too much.. Your body needs that time to heal, and recover, but a little bit of exercise wont hurt. Well, ttyl, I am doing pretty good, OP, will post my weight tomorrow!!
05-11-2002, 02:24 PM
i have a tv and vcr in my room, and if i cleaned up all the crap lying around im sure i would have enough room to do it. i have some extra time on my hands today because im the only one in my group of friends not to go to C's graduation/grad party. graduation ceremonys are boring and the party is in galveston...not the prettiest beach in the world. so i decided to skip the brown water and bordem. i already hit the gym today, i did weights and a cross training course on an elliptical thing. it was pretty good. i guess with the rest of my day i will catch up on homework and go ahead and clean my room. i would like to get the advanced tapes but i dont have a job so i dont really have the money to order them and with all my other workouts i really dont think i would use them enough to ask my parents to buy them for me. i am looking to loose like 35 lb, hopefully by the end of summer (which is right around the corner, only 2 weeks of school left :))but if it doesnt happen i will be ok i undersand you gotta give these things time. all of you keep up the great work, you willl be at your goals in no time. but i gotta go, bye.

Hi everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. I finally have my voice back anyway. I have quite a cold going. how is everything going Latisia? Even if you haven't lost any weight, you are doing wonderful things for your metabolism. I admire you Nikki for standing up for yourself and not going to the beach if you didn't want to. Alot of times young people cave in to pressure. It sounds like you are doing alot of things to increase your physical fitness, and that's what weight management is all about. I hope everyone else is doing well, I ran this morning, and am thinking of going to the gym, haven't decided yet. Keep up the good work everyone. Judy
05-13-2002, 01:45 PM

hi guys!! man i am sore, yesterday me and my 2 friends went to the park to shoot some hoops and we ended up doing a ton of basketball drills lotsa sprinting and shuffling. then we jogged home. i was supposed to hit the gym today but its already 815, and i gotta do a geometry project. so i think i will just do a tae bo vid or go rollerblading or something. i'll do something. my friend julie and i are also taking up running. we start tommorrow...we are starting pretty small though. im excited. but i gotta go. later
05-14-2002, 10:37 PM

Good choice, looks like you are on a roll! you will have that weight off in no time!! Well ttyl I am going to do a few more crunches and push up, good night to all :)
05-14-2002, 11:18 PM
Hi everyone, Nikki I am so pleased for you. How did your running go? I agree with Latisia it won't be long before your weight will be coming off. Good for you too Latisia, adding weights is a good way to resculpture your body. today was supposed to be a Tae Bo day, but I ended up only walking for 35 minutes and lifting weights. I guess I will still have tomorrow be a running day and try again on Thursday. Everyone is doing such a great job. Keep up the good work. Judy

Hi Everyone! Boy was I happy to log into this board and see an active Tae Bo thread going.
I used to do Tae Bo religiously....lost 40 lbs in three months! I felt wonderful. And then I stopped. I'm sure you've heard that story before!
I'm thinking of starting back up again at the Basic level (because that alone will kick me in the fanny!), but have no motivation to do so! I have been walking 3-4 times a week, about 2 miles a day, just to get a start on exercising again. But I really need to start doing Tae Bo again. I have the first set and the Live set, as well as one or two of the monthly sets they sent out. I have enough that I won't get bored.
I got to say too, that Billy is a wonderful person. I was able to speak to him LIVE on the phone one day and he is awesome.
Anyway, a little about me. I'm almost 32 years old, mom of two great kids and wife to my bestest friend in the whole world (and thankfully he is VERY supportive in anything I chose to do). I'm a SAHM with a pet-sitting business and soon to be starting a karaoke business with a friend. We have quite a zoo of critters (hence the name zookeeper), with includes everything from birds to horses. My first weight loss goal is to lose about 18 lbs. Then another 15-20 after that. My eye-opener was today when I found my cholesterol went up 10 points in the last six months to 204, despite my walking, drinking water and eating healthier. I have PCOD and hypothyroidism, which makes losing weight a challenge but not an imposibility!
Anyway, I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I'm just looking for something to get me motivated!
05-15-2002, 08:05 PM
thanks guys!! my run was pretty good. my neighborhood is like a big square and it measures out to 1/2 a mile so we alternated running and walking every street for a mile. i did kick boxing today. i had a different teacher cuz i went at 430 instead of 630 and i didnt like her as much...the other one gives a much better workout. i need to start eating healthier too, my mom works at Albertsons and they are going out of business in texas so everything in the store is 1/2 off and my mom keeps bringing home all this junk food. i did resist and eat a salad and a baked potato for dinner though.
welcome to the group zookeeper!!!!;) you need motavation...you came to the right place. the ladies in here are wonderful people full of positive comments.
latista and judy- how's the exsercise comming along?? good i hope. yall keep up the excellent work.
im out i have 380 pages to read for english by tommorrow afternoon.
05-15-2002, 11:29 PM
Hi everyone, Today turned out to be a beautiful day. I got up and did my usual 35 min walk with Bob, and decided to keep to my schedule even tho I didn't do Tae Bo yesterday I ran my 2 miles today anyway. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo day. I had all 6 of my grandchildren today. So the house was full. everyone went home about an hour ago. Good for you Nikki, you made a good choice when you chose baked potato and salad instead of goodies. I don't know if I would have had the strength to resist, but you did. I like certain exercise instructors better then others also, so I understand where you are coming from. You just wait and see you are really going to drop that weight. Welcome zookeeper, we are glad that you joined us. We try and give positive support so that we can share in your triumph when you reach your goals. You actually spoke to Billy Blanks, that's great. He seems like a nice person. How you doing Latisia, congratulations on your weight loss. Everyone keep up the good work, we can accompish anything we set our minds to. Weight loss and fitness is a journey, so we need to enjoy it. Judy
05-18-2002, 05:57 PM

(-nikki-):)
05-20-2002, 03:27 PM
Hi Nikki and Latisia, Wow can you believe we are in a new week. Great job both of you. Have fun at your summer vacation bash Nikki. Parties are always fun. I told you, that you would start making notable progress by just getting out and exercising Nikki, and see I was right. It is always exciting when someone notices. I got up this morning and went for my 35 minute walk, and ran my 2 miles. I had to drag my grandchildren with me as I did some banking and went and looked at some new bedroom furniture. They were of course hyper, so I took them to McDonalds for lunch. I stopped by the drive thru at TacoTime, and got a SouthWest Veggie wrap. I asked them to leave off the chicken, which they did no problem. Tomorrow is my Tae Bo day, so at least I'm starting off my week good. Have a great week eveyone, talk to you soon, Judy
05-21-2002, 02:36 PM

Hi everyone ,Today has been a little different, only had my 2 year old GS today, and he was a sick baby. I did get my walk in this morning and my Tae Bo in when the little one was napping. He was spiking quite a fever, so kept giving him baby motrin. Isn't it something when they have to throw up, it is usually on the couch, or carpet. Anyway he was one sick kid today. Spent most of my day in a rockng chair cuddling with him. It was a good thing the rest of the gang wasn't here today. Oh well tomorrow is another day. When are you supposed to have your celebration that school is out for the summer Nikki? I think you are going to have a really good time. How are you doing zookeeper, I also love animals and have been known to rescue abandoned animals and find homes for them. How is it going Latisia. Everyone is doing such a great job, you guys keep me motivated. catch you later, Judy
05-22-2002, 07:42 PM
well tomorrow is the last day of school! there is no one party for schools out. i have been invited to at least 2 parties a week for the rest of summer and about 8 for this weekend alone. so many decisons. i didnt get to go to kickboxing today. my grandma is comming in town in a few days for my sisters graduation. so basically i had to clean and i have to finish up an english project for tomorrow. oh well. yesterday i went to the gym and did some upperbody stuff. i didnt get to do cardio because jackie had to be some where at 7 so we only got to work out for like an hour and usually we are there for just about 2 hours. well i have to get back to work. bye all..keep everything going!!! (-nikki-)

06-01-2002, 12:06 AM
I started doing the Tae bo videos last year and I found them really good. They got me moving and stretching muscles that hadn't been moved for ages. I also started doing the tae bo equivalent classes at the gym (Body Combat at my gym) - they're a little more intensive than the videos but the videos were an excellent warmup and definetely a prerequisite.:dizzy:
06-01-2002, 02:07 PM
Hello, how is everybody, I am doing great, it is a lovely day!! Niki, sounds like your'e doing swell, dont worry about the slip up, they happen, but you seem to have the right attitude too, so I am proud of ya!! Pinksmurf, welcome! I agree that tae bo really gets those muscles, I used to do a kick boxing class back a few years, and do miss it, It was at home, and I plan to sign back up when I move back home in July, It was intense, Hey Judy, how is your weekend??How are your grandchildren? hope all is well,
Well here are the results, I did my weigh in , and I m almost outt the 30's I lost 3.5 this week, I really gotta hand it to also the walking that really pumps me up, along with the tae bo and weights. I did my walking early today, then my weights, it feels awesome, so many things are baggy instead of tight like they were back In march! I feel blessed!! Well everyone, TTFN and keep working hard, it is worth it!!
06-01-2002, 02:54 PM

Hi everyone, Thought it was about time I posted. I have been up to my eyebrows in family troubles. When it rains it pours bad luck. Enough about that, Nikki I am so proud of you. A 5k is a wonderful goal. I love to run too. I started out doing it just to see if I could, I really love my runs now. I still do Tae Bo and will continue. I still run 3 days a week, and do Tae Bo 3 days a week, and walk 6 days a week. Keep up the good work Latisia, the grandkids are doing great, wish I could say the same for their folks. We are having some beautiful weather up here in the Northwest, and this weekend I think I'm going on that hike up to Lake Lena that I had to put off because of my knees. Before I forget welcome pink smurf, we are happy to have you on board. Judy

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a great Saturday. I was able my run my 2 miles this AM, and the rest of the day I have been resting and just vegging out. Sick children take a toll on you after awhile. Thinking of doing some weight work later. Are you out of school yet Nikki? Our kids don't get out until the 17th. I'm glad you are doing so well Latisia. I'll bet if we keep this up we are really going to look good at the end of summer, that's my goal anyway. Well I don't have anything amazing to report, except I cut 2 minutes off my time this morning which amazes me. Keep up the good work everyone and we'll beat this thing yet, ((In Health)) Judy
06-09-2002, 02:21 PM
ive been out of school since may 23. summers been kinda weird. all my friends have jobs so ive been kinda dragging. this past week i havent really done anything. i havent run, done kickboxing, been to the gym...nothing. ive been trying to clean my room. it amazes me that i have so much stuff, and it just so happens that none of it is where it should be. i went to a concert yesterday. i saw deep purple and the scorpions. i didnt know who they were a friend just gave us the tickets so we went, but we knew like 12 songs. anyways i'll see yall later.
06-17-2002, 08:33 PM
where is everyone!?!?!?
06-25-2002, 10:44 PM
Finally:^: I've been off line since I got back from my vacation the end of may. My computer went down, and lost everything. I sure have missed this site. Everything has changed so much. So many new people, that I don't recognize. I've read your previous posts. Seems that you are still doing real good:) Way to go. Keep up the good work. I've continued to loose but have slowed down. We are comming to the end of the second segment of our program. Will break and start back up in August. I've been doing my Tai Bo, but have had to cut back on the length due to getting too hot and getting headaches from it. One of my AC needs repair, so the house is not as cool as it should be. I will continue though. I'm down 39lbs and need 9 more to reach my goal. Then may reset it.
Bye for now:wave:
07-02-2002, 12:12 PM
Hi everyone, I have been out of town on a family crisis, and my computer crashed ended up having to buy another one. And our youngest daughter got married, So I just got back. Sure have missed everyone. I'm glad to see you are hanging in there Nikki,Still execising. How are you doing Latisia? Weren't you spposed to move? How is that coming along? I'm still doing my 2 mile run 3 days a week, and Taebo 3 days a week. I also walk every morning with hubby. There are some days better then others, but there are no magic potions for me that promise instant fitness, so I keep plodding along. Everybody keep up the good work, hope to talk to you soon, Judy
07-24-2002, 02:32 PM

How is everyone? Hope you are doing well, T TFN, will be back soon!!
07-24-2002, 11:24 PM
Hy latisia, I've about given up on this thread, because nobody was corresponding. Glad you got settled, moving is never easy. I have to admit I haven't been doing as much as I should. I am going to get back in it probably ready to start this weekend. I guess I hit a slump. How is your baby doing with the move, sometimes children hate change. Have a great week,(Oh by the way I changed my username from Judy1951 to JudyMH). NowI have the same name for all the boards I visit. Judy
07-27-2002, 06:13 AM
Hello there, Judy! Glad to see you aboard, I know what you mean about hitting a slump, in the process of adjusting, so did I, but imma get back on, .. My son had a hard time, the first week, He wanted to get into everything, but this week is better, and he has calmed down some. It was kinda hard in the car, on the drive here, l ol, Me and my Mom are making up a schedule for walking, and that should be great, ! I got used to walking by myself, now a partner, well talk to ya later, take care:)
07-28-2002, 04:08 PM
Good for you latisia, it's hard to get back in the swing of things when you make a change like that. Glad to hear your baby is adjusting. We are going to Canada on Thursday for a week, after that I plan on getting back on track. No more excuses. Are you back in Virginia or did you move somewhere else? You have a wonderful week, talk to you soon, Judy
07-28-2002, 04:37 PM
I've been away myself. We went to Florida to see my step-daughter graduate. Then when we came back had trouble with my computer. Lost everything on it. Finally got back on track and online.
I just ordered another tae bo tape today. One that has 4 tapes. Two I already have taped off, but two I don't have. It was offered on QVC at a great price and could not pass it by. Need as much variety as I can get to keep interested.
I have slowed down on loosing weight as we are taking a little time off from our First Place group. Will start up again in September. Altogether have lost 36lbs.
Hi Judy, how are you. You like doing tae bo too, Huh? It is a really good workout. Makes you sweat alot, and gets your heart rate up. How long have you been doing tae bo?
well bye for now:wave:
07-29-2002, 09:46 PM
Hi Bettycrocker, and Latisia, Yes I like doing Taebo, but unfortunately have experienced a slump lately. DH and I are going on vacation, and I plan on getting plenty of walking in, then when I get back I plan on getting down to business. Back to my running and Taebo on alternate days. I don't remember when I started doing Taebo, it was a while ago I have 4 of his tapes. Glad to know you are a christian Betty Crocker, it's always a joy to be in contact with a fellow believer. Keep us posted on your progress, and I will do thre same, Glad to hear you are settling in to your new place Latisia, it probably won't take you long in getting in a routine. Judy
07-29-2002, 10:06 PM
How are you doing? When are you going on vacation? Where are you going?
We went to Florida in May. Went to Naples to see step-daughter graduate. Then went to orlando to Universal studios. My Son wanted to see the Jurassic Park section. It was great.
Hi T-girl, must be busy settling in your new place. I gather you lived there before. Is it your home state?
Well gotta run my son wants a glass of water, take care
07-31-2002, 11:38 PM
Hi Bettycrocker, We are going to Whistler tomorrow. I am looking forward to it, because we haven't went anywhere really in 2 years. Except when my mom passed away. I looked up the driving directions on the internet, I don't know how I coped with things before my computer. It's only a 5 hour drive from Seattle, and we are approximately 1.5 hours from Seattle in the heavy traffic. So that is not bad, when you consider we used to be 15 hours from my inlaws, and we made it there without stopping over night any place. See you all in a week, Judy
