Exercise! - Oxycise For Spring #35

Oxycise is a combination of controlled deep breathing and issometric exercise body positions. Those of us who do Oxycise benefit not only from extra engrgy, and a raised metabolism, but actual weight loss and reshaping of our bodies. Unfortunately, like most forms of exercise, you have to be consistent with the program to obtain maximum results. I thought I would start a new thread. You know, new thread, new motivation...
Am I an exercise FOOL or what!!! I did L1 the original L1 last night before bed. I did have to modify a few of the positions, and I did the floor positions on the bed. This morning I did EDI L2, rode my stationary bike and then went to water aerobics. I just recently discovered this particular water aerobics class and it's great. I's a step aerobics class in the water, and the also either use the gloves, or barbells or ankle weights. Really a hard workout. It's only twice a week, so I go to an easier one the other three days.
Terry, What church do you go to? Do you do dinner every Wed night? I'ts unusual to find someone else who goes to Wednesday night services regulary.

I just happened over here and saw your post.
Yes, I do dinner every Wed. night. We go to an independent Christian church. I have two more weeks to go and it will be done. They take a break during the months of May through August.
I did my O! twice day before yesterday but nothing yesterday. It is my TOM and it is a bad one. But the bad stuff only lasts for about two days. I am hoping maybe today I can at least go along with the level one tape and do the breathing even if I don't do the postions.
I think we are going to have to send out a search party for Rose. Let me get my water jug. And make sure we have a bathroom break about every 30 minutes. Sometimes I drink so much water it seems like I am pregnant again.

Well, I've sent her a PM with a reply request, and I've searched hers posts and the last she was heard from was 3/25/02 so maybe she is on vacation or something. But she'll be back... she's lik me, 3fc in her blood.
Iv'e done really well this past week. I've done at least one session a day since we started. Haven't done one today yet, but the day's early.
Things are getting a little tense around my house. I've talked about it a lot across the boards, but I'mnot sure if I've told you...after over a whole year of thinking, praying, debating, and preparing... My DH is scheduled for WLS (weight loss surgery, gastric bypass surgery, whatever you want to call it) Friday.
After becoming accustomed to the idea of the surgery in the future, it's hard to realize it's HERE>
I am certain our lives will dramatically change. I say I'm ready for it, but I'm sure if that's really true. So my intentions are to stay focused on exercise instead of food for the first month or so and depend on all of my friends here on 3fc to help me get through it.
Here I am sounding like the one who is getting the surgery, but I guess when you've been married to the same man for 36 years, it's like the Bible says...the two become as one.

I will be remembering your hubby AND you in my prayers in the next week leading up to his surgery and beyond. Of course it affects you too. That's your sweetie. Just remember you have some great support here if you have time to stop by and say hi or not. What ever you do don't forget to take care of yourself. If you don't take care of you it will be hard to take care of him and be supportive of him. I don't know alot about that surgery but what I have seen on TV before, afterwards the person cannot eat more than a few bites of food at a time or they become very sick. Is that right? Hi Terri and Barbg,
I'm here. I've been so busy with work and getting my son ready for high school graduation that I've had very little 3FC's time. But I'm here and I just replied to your PM Barbg and I'm ready. Although I'm behind you gals I plan on doing my L2 tomorrow morning. I've missed you guys and I've missed doing O but it's no fun unless you have others to share it with:D. I'm so glad you decided to send out the search party for me Barbg. I've been working out with a new program and I've been getting good results but O really makes a difference in my energy level. So I'm with you. Terri I'm so glad you are back. It's been a long time since we've heard from you but it sounds like you are doing great with the O! :) Okay I'm all fired up and ready for some heavy breathing. I'll check in tomorrow after I do my O!
Barbg, I had to add after I read your post that my prayers are with you and your husband. Please let us know afterwards how he is doing. I know it must be stressful for both of you but it's so great you have each other to lean on. God bless.

So what happpened to you? I came back and you are gone. Did I scare you away?:o Well I just wanted to report that I did L2 today and I feel so good now. I did make it. Barb left me a message, and I know I need to be doing O, but have a hard time being disciplined. The worst thing is that they have e-mailed me from O and want me to be on TV news here in early May, and I'm really not ready for it. I did well last summer, but somewere along the way backslid. And my sis and her husband were just here last month and I gained while they were here.
I did do my O--I still do L1 from memory--this morning. I have level 2, but never seem to get around to it. I really need to do it twice a day.
I have started a new program for weight loss--no dieting, exercise, or supplements required--that seems to be working. Found it on the internet. In 10 days I have lost 6 lbs. The program is really quite simple. You can eat whatever you want, just have to concentrate--or something like that. If you are interested, look at http://chetday.com/cgi-bin/pl.cgi?thm It only cost $10, and is worth far more. (No, I'm not making any money on it. Wish Iwere. I think it's going to be great.) I still need Oxycise to firm up and look gorgeous, though (especially since I'm at the age where gravity takes its course).
I've been keeping in touch with Barb--she's had surgery, too, only on the knee.
Have to get busy now.

The main thing I remember saying is that in less than a week I my waist back. I don't know why I cant keep up and consistantly do O every day.
Do I need to send Terry as PM now?
I've been really good this week, I've O'ed everyday since Tuesday and twice several day.

I'm still here. Sorry for not keeping in touch the past few days. I've been feeling bad and had some crazy days. And in about an hour I will be leaving to fix dinner at church tonight.
Anyway!! I hope to be back at it tommorrow. If not two times at least one time.
Good to "talk" to you again. It has been too long. I know graduation can be a crazy time. I don't have another one for six more years.
Prayers for you, your sweetie and for the doctors.
I WILL post tommorrow afternoon.

Talk about crash and burn!!! I've been gung ho! all week but today I could hardly get out of bed... I don't know what my problem is, I just feel wiped out. Probally a combination of stress, fatigue, and I don't think I ate enough yesterday. Anyway as I said I could hardly get out of bed this morning. BUT.. I did make myself do L1 (without "gusto", but done) and I only rode my bike 15 minutes, and did not go to the club for water aerobics at all.
Tomorrow will be better.

I woke up feeling much better today. I did my level1 with gusto!! Then I rode my bike and went to water aerobics.
Tomorrow will be another subject, but maybe I can get it in.

I'm sorry first of all for not posting but I've been so busy that I've had no time at all until today. I've managed to do O! all week. Yesterday was a struggle for me too seeing that I had a late night the night before and wanted to stay in bed. But I managed to drag myself out of bed and do O! It's funny because I've been going through allot of stress and a friend of mine that used to post here told me I need to do Oxycise. Boy she is so right. My stress level has been cut in half plus I sleep better. And you can't beat the results when you do it regularly:D!
Barbg-It's great that you are hanging in there. You are doing great and I'm glad you started this new thread and thought about me and asked me to join you all:)! It's been a big help. How is your hubby Barb? I hope all is well.
Nancy-It's always great to hear from you. Thanks for the info on the website. You know I'm a fan of new weight loss ideas:D!
Terri-I'm hanging in there. Good job with the O! and drinking all that water:). I wish I could drink that much water. I've been doing better with it though. I think it's really important to get enough water in your day. Keep up the great job.:D

The surgery took all afternoon, the took him in at 1:00 and the doctor came out to talk to me at 6:00. They were able to do the laproscopic surgery so he will be getting to go home Sunday or Monday. The doctor said he's doing good. They are going to keep hime in the recovery room until morning.
The only good thing about them changing the time of the surgery was that I was able to do my O and my bike before we had to leave. I'm not sure if I'll try another session before bed or not. I'm awfully tired, but it might relax me. We'll see.
Anyway thanks for the thoughts and prayers, and keep up the breathing...

It's been one of those weeks and weekends again. I'm not feeling well at all. I think I have an ear infection. Haven't been getting much sleep and feel sick:(.
Terri-Great job with the O! Keep up the great work and way to drink that water.:)
Barbg-I'm so glad your hubby is doing well:D. That must be such a relief for you. And you deserve some applause for exercising and doing Oxycise through this. You have given me new motivation:)! Take care and post when you can. I know things will be hectic for you for a while.
Well I've done O this whole week only once a day. I need to do it today too but I really don't feel so well. I'll take some medicine and if that helps I'll do my O tonight. I hope you all have a great Sunday and I'll check in later.

Things went crazy after Friday night. I got up and went to the hospital by 6:00AM Saturday morning and wast there until about noon yesterday. His surgery went great. He's doing super. He's had almost no pain, no nausea, and no hunger. BUT... he came down with pneumonia and was very sick with it. He's doing much better now, but he shocked me by not wanting me to leave him!!! So I spent the week in the hospital, no O. no bike, and trying to sleep on a chair that flattened out. And I do mean FLAT!!! :mad:
But anyway we are home and I had a great nights sleep in my own bed last night. I did get up and did my O this morning and I rode my bike (only 15 minutes instead of 30, because I was so stiff):cry:
I'm proud you are still here, and keeping up the Oxycise. i'll get back to you later...

Whew I forgot my password for a minute. It's been so long since I've had to sign in here I usually just store mine so I won't have to remember it but a little concentration and I remembered. I'd hate to have to start over with one post:(!
Barbg-I'm sorry your husband had a hard time with recovery but I'm glad he's doing better now! That must have been frightening for you both! Good job with your O! and exercise right after you got home:)! What a motivator you are! Post as often as you can. I know how busy your schedule is.
I have been doing great with O! Haven't seen a ton of inch loss yet but it will come. I just feel better doing O! I've done it all week except for Weds. I had TOM and felt so ill that I could barely go to work let alone do O! It's been so so busy here with work, my son getting ready for graduation and college. Oxycise is the only thing that keeps my stress level down. I'm sorry I haven't posted more often but hopefully things will calm down a little so I can post more. So where is everybody else? Post and let us know how you're Oeing:D!

I've managed to do one session of O every day I have been back from the hospital.
Terry? you hangin in there? keep us posted.
Rose you said in an earier post that you were trying something new? what is it, and how is it going?
I'm also trying something new, and it is a "natural" method. It was referred to me by Nancy. They also have a support group that is on YahooGroups. I found it very interesting that several people on the thread mentioned Oxycise as the perfect compaion tho this program.
I've also went back tousing my "Weight Commander" computer program. It helps to keep me focused,

I hope everyone is getting their O in! I've managed to do O all last week except for one day. I really love this.
Barbg-I'm interested in this program you are on. I was doing the Slim In Six program through Beachbody.com and have finished that program with good results. I dropped a pant size. But it's allot of work. One hour a day of exercise is too much sometimes. Now I'm doing O and Leslie Sansone's walking tapes. But I do switch around and do Tae Bo sometimes too. Let me know what your program is if you don't mind sharing.:)

I'm depressed again!!! Boy I hate this rollercoaster i seem to stay on. I had to try so hard to be upbeat and "strong" while Alvin was in the hospital and at first home, but now that things should be getting back to normal whatever that is!!! I seem to have lost all motivation. I seem to have to make myself even move. At least I've gone back to work, maybe that'll help. He goes back to the doctor tomorrow and then he should be able to start trying to eat soft foods. May that'll help me get out of this funk... Anyway I didn't do my O yesterday or today either. . , I'll try for tonight.
Let's hear some cheerleading here!!! or at least some butt kicking... anything to get me going again!!!

Barbg-consider this your official butt kicking:dizzy: ! Come on and do some O! You know how good it makes you feel afterwards. Plus you deserve that 15 minutes all to yourself. You have to stay strong and healthy for your hubby too and he needs to feel your energy for a quick recovery. Is this helping Barb? I hope so. I know how you feel. I've been there not too long ago. Just put the tape in and tell yourself, "if I don't feel like it I can quit after five minutes". I guarantee you will finish the tape. You've kept me going Barb and you got me started back with O! so now it's my turn to get you motivated. Post after you do O! I'll be watching;).
Come on everybody. I know there are more cheerleaders out there that can help out Barb! Post and let her know how you're doing with O!

After I posted yesterday I went to my car and did just 5 minutes of the commuter tape. When I went back into the office I already felt much better. I'll do the video tonight Promise!

I'm glad to see you're back on track:D! I've stumbled a little but I did O! this morning!:) I do feel better when I do O! on a regular bases, I just have to make sure to do it. I'm glad you are sticking in here with me. I know you have a busy schedule and I sure know the feeling! I'll try to post more often. Had several bits of bad news this week. The latest being oune of our longtime friends who started working for us about a week ago had a heart attact at work today. He's about 54 or so. he's doing pretty good right now, but I spent most of the day at the hospital with his wife. Then I went back to work. On the way home I put my Oxycise commuter tape in and Breathed.. Breathed...Breathed and I feel much better.

Barbg-sorry to hear about your friend:(. That always makes me take a look at myself and make sure that I'm keeping my body healthy. Which isn't always the case. I'm so thankful for O! just for that reason. It does calm you down a bit and help clear your head doesn't it? I hope your friend has a quick recovery.
Well I managed to do my O last night. I didn't get out of bed to do it this morning though but I plan on doing my commuter tape tonight on my way home from my son's practice. I've been stressing so much lately over finances and getting my son ready for graduation and then college. I just don't know where the money will come from for all of this. Being a single parent really sucks sometimes. I never realized how expensive senior year is. I had to pay $70 for grad night alone!:dizzy: My son has a job now but he's trying to save for a car so it will be easier at school for him. I'm sure everything will work out but right now it's got me frazzled:?: Thanks for letting me vent everyone. Back to work to pay the rent which seems to keep going up every time I turn around.

At least we can thank her for getting US back in the grove. Don't haave much to say, the commuter tape has been my salvation these last few days, that's about all I've managed, but every little breath helps.
I decided that I like the regular series better than the easy does it series. It take 30minutes to do the EDI Videos,because they are so much slower, It's hard for me to spare 15 minutes some days.
Let's keep it up and keep each other motivated Rose, and maybe some day we will be supprised with someone else joining us.

I know what you mean about the commuter tape. That's what has saved me these last few days. Without that I don't know what I would have done. It certainly wouldn't have been much O! Yes I wish Terri would pop in and say hi:wave:! Are you out there Terri? But until then let's keep each other going as much as possible. I have a feeling someone will join in and help us stay motivated. I hope you have a good weekend and all is well with your hubby:D!

Sorry I've been MIA. I've been so busy. I can honestly say that I've been doing great in the exercise area but crappy in the eating area. I've been walking between 12-14 miles a week using Leslie Sansone videos and I've been doing my O almost every day. It's amazing but just today someone that hasn't seen me in a week commented on how I looked like I had lost weight. I honestly believe this is just from doing O. Even if I can't get an O video in I do the commuter tape whenever I'm in the car and that really helps me stick with O. Sometimes I think the commuter tape almost works better for me. I guess it's because I can concentrate on the abs more when I'm using it in the car instead of trying to get into an exercise position. I just know it works. Come on Barb I know you can do this. You are the one that stuck with O the longest and I know you like how it makes you feel so make time for yourself even if it is in the car.:) By the way how is your husband? I hope all is well with him. I was thinking we should start another thread. What do you think? It looks like it's just you and me right now. I wonder what ever happened to Claire? And where did Terri go? If you gals are out there please let us know. We need all the support we can get. Okay Barbg I'll check back to see how you are.

I have to admit that when I'm not posting every day, I don't seem to find time to O. Isn't that terrible. Just knowing I have to come in here and admit I was too lazy keeps me going, but when I know no one is looking, I slack off. That's really bad isn't it.
You start the thread and I'll see if I can find Claire, Juliette, and Terri. Who else can we bring in? Nancy gets bored if there are not a lot of posters, so I'm afraid she is posting elsewhere.

I'm so thankful I have that or I wouldn't be doing much O. I've been doing allot of walking with Leslie Sansone and I love it. Have you ever tried her videos Barb? I hope everything is going good for you. I know I haven't been checking in much but life is getting in the way of my posting. I will try to do better. What are your plans for Memorial Day? Any luck locating our other Oers? I know they must be out there. Okay Barb I know you can do this. Please try to post everyday so it will help you do your O.
