Hello my friends

I am starting a new thread since ours has gotten to page 6 already! How is the Spring Challange going with y'all? I have to admit, mine is not doing so good. I am blaming it on having an out of town guest but that is lame, I know. She leaves tomorrow so I am really ready to get on track.

Well, I'm off to work for a few hours......working only until 11:45am. Have a great Wednesday and I hope everyone is staying OP for your Spring Challange.

Hi everyone,

It's finally beginning to look like spring here....they're promising us temps in the upper 60's in the next few days. And after a week of rain and clouds, the sun is shining. :D

This evening is the Paul McCartney concert :dizzy: We're heading into the city early, at about 4, in order to get downtown during rush hour madness. In Chicago the expressway is a nightmare at that time of day. We're going to have burgers at Billy Goat, which was immortalized in the old Saturday Night Live skit with John Belushi...."cheezborger cheezborger cheezborger" (but the restaurant is nicer) ...then head over to the United Center for the 8 p.m. concert.

Yes, I know burgers aren't OP, but today I'm splurging!
While I did skip weighing in on Saturday, I've been noticing some changes in how my clothes are fitting.....was able to wear jeans that had been too tight, and my favorite ring fits again. If the scale doesn't show a loss, at least I know I'm losing some inches.

I don't like posting and not addressing other's posts, but am in a hurry, lots of errands to run this morning, then have to cram and get homework done this afternoon. Will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

Hello Girls:wave:

Zoe, once your niece leaves YOU MUST get back on track. Spring is here & we have a challenge ahead of us. Come join us. ;)

Jen, by the time you read this message you'll be on your way to the concert. Have a great time. I know you've been looking forward to it. When my clothes feel a little baggie I don't care what the scale says. I always go by my clothes.

Pogo, I would love living by the beach. There's something about the sound of waves that relaxes me. I live close to a marina. In the summer people go fishing & there's a board walk. We bring our beach chairs & just hang out there for a couple of hours. It's peaceful.

Janie, congrats on your loss. You're almost there. That must be the such a great feeling. To know that you're close to goal.

Well, let me go eat my dinner & watch my soaps. I'm taking the day off from exercising today.

Till tomorrow.

Love,
Es

Hello ladies, just stopped by for a quick hello. I went for a post surgery check-up today, the doc says that walking will help the stomach muscles around my incision to heal. So tomorrow I will WALK!!!!

JANIE, congrats on the 2 lbs. That is so awesome. I would die to be a size 8!! I know I'll get there eventually, but it gets so frustrating at times.

JEN, have fun at the concert. Let us know how wonderful it was.

ES, how is your week?

Well, I'm gonna check in with the chat room, then off to bed.

I'll check in tomorrow,

RUTH, happy to hear you're much better. Please don't push yourself with walking. A little at a time. My week was okay. I lost 3.8 last week but this week I don't feel like I lost. Oh well.<sigh> We gotta take the good with the bad right?:)

Be back later:wave:

Morning Everyone,

Hey Es, isn't it funny how when you feel like you've had an awesome week and expect to loose the pounds, you've really gained or stayed the same?

And then some weeks, you think you've been off the wall with your eating, you weigh-in - and there is a big loss?

I just can't figure it out sometimes. This week I feel terrific. I walked last night and as I walked home I was thinking "I feel thin!"

So, I'll have to wait til Friday to check this out.

Have a good day!

Hi Girls:wave:

Pogo, you're so right about some weeks gaining & some losing. Can't figure it out. You're exactly where I'd love to be. I felt good at 155. It seems so much harder for me now but I won't give up. Keep up the good work:)

Jen, how was the concert?

Dianne, Amiga, how are you?

Myra, we miss you. Stop by & say hi:wave:

Well, gotta go. I'll be back later.

Ruth,
I am glad that you are feeling better. I must tell you that the gas pain thing must be cyber-contagious because I was doubled over with pain last night. I am feeling better this morning but not 100% yet. Tonight is girls night out with ELlen, so I am hoping that I will be back to normal by then.

Es,
I am sorry if I confused you. I am never sure which is the right order to put those numbers. My starting weight last July was 179, my current weight is 147 and my goal is 143. ANd yes it is very exciting to be almost there but I have been wavering around 148 +2 lbs since January. It is quite frustrating. My girlfriend who is also doing WW said I should just change my goal but there are still some clothes that I want to wear that are a little tight.

Dianne and Sandy,
How are your moms? Please keep us informed, and don't forget to take care of yourselves.

Myra,
I know this is a busy time for you but remember that we are thinking of you.

Jen,
I hope you had a good time at the concert. It sounds like a great one.

Terry,
Are you still out there? We miss you.

Hi to Pogo, Zoe, 40x40, and anyone else that I might have forgotten.

Hello:D

Thank God It's Friday!!!!!! I love Fridays. I guess cause I'm off.

JanieD, you are so thin. What I would give to be 147! I was 148 14 yrs. ago & had a small waist & I was 33 yrs. old. Back then it was very easy for me to lose weight. Now, forget about it. I hope you're feeling better today.

I have an 11:45 drs. appt. for my cholesterol blood results. I'll keep you all posted.

Have a great day ladies.

Well, I was just finishing up a long post - and then it disappeared and my AOL shut me out. I'm back, but can't stay long.

I'm happy it's Friday too! We have Monday off because it is Patriots' Day in Massachusetts. It is also the Boston Marathon. No, I'm not running. Never have. Probably never will. Never say never....

So, enjoy the weekend everyone!

Essie,
I am feeling somewhat better today, thanks for asking. I probably would be completely fine except that Ellen and I had girls night out last night. Since she is doing a report in school on Thailand, she decided she wanted Thai food. My guts weren't quite ready for the spiciness of Thai but I went anyway because I didn't want to spoil her enthusiasm. I paid for it afterwards but the food tasted great. Didn't eat very much, we brought alot of it home. Then when we got home (around 7:30) we both got into our pjs and climbed into my bed and read stories. Poor Steve had to carry her back to her bed again when he got home.

Pogo,
Where in MA do you live? I may have told you this before but Steve and I both used to work in Cambridge and lived in Arlington Heights. That would have been from 1984-1989. There are many thinks I miss about the Boston area but the weather is not one of them. I'll take northern CA mild winters any day.

Happy Friday to everyone!!
As usual we've had a beautiful week and now the forcast is rain for the weekend. Oh well, maybe I'll get some cleaning and quilting done this weekend.

Hugs to all,

Hi Everyone,

Janie, I live in Quincy - just south of Boston. It's warming up a little bit today.

I just got back from weighing in and my theory was proved correct again - unfortunately. I did gain a pound. I will ponder this over the weekend - and continue walking. I'm tying to remain positive. Just had a salad and a half cup of veggie chili and water.

I'll let you all know how many miles I walk over the weekend. Now I'm going to sip some tea.

Talk to you all later.

Hi girls,

I couldn't get into the message board yesterday :?: but today everything seems fine.

The concert was GREAT! Paul had so much energy, he performed for more than 2 hours, 36 songs....lots of Beatles tunes. And at the age of 59, he's looking verrry good. :D

On Tuesday I went into the city to say good-bye to my older sister, who moved to Arkansas yesterday :( It's a good move for her, but will be difficult for all of us. She's got 6 daughters and 13 grandchildren here.......I foresee lots of road trips between Chicago and Arkansas!

I'm heading out for a walk before it rains.....

Hi You's guys

Our out of town guest is now gone and I'm back on track. I was so, so, SO bad with my eating while she was here, always out and about, eating and eating and eating. Did we just HAVE to take her to all the great spots here in the DFW area. :?: Anyway, I got myself together yesterday ~ even got on the scale. Holy Cow, I was 1/2 pound away from slitting my throat!!! I feel great though, really have been good for 2 days now. We went to El Chico's tonight and I had just a few chips but I had a taco salad which I don't think is TOO bad. The beans in it are high in fiber and I used hot sauce instead of salad dressing. I think that was ok. I'm trying to just cut back instead of saying the "D" word.

Tomorrow is our company golf tournament. We have one twice a year ~ the only time I ever play. So I will be up and out early. It should be fun.

Have a great weekend ~ talk to you's guys tomorrow.

Morning my buds

Just a "quickie" to say hi and let you all know I'm alive and kicking, just been busy, busy, busy. Congrats to all you losers and to those of us struggling - "one day at a time". I gained 1 lbs at wi today but it is TOM, so maybe next week will be better, I hope, I hope, I hope!

Zoe - you cracked me up with that "1/2 lb. away from slitting your throat"!! Tooooooooo funny.

Jen - Glad you enjoyed Paul McCartney's concert, sounds like he still has "it" whatever it is, lol. Sorry about your sister moving.

Hi Es, Janie, Pogo, Ruth, 40x40, Myra, Sandy, Terri and Chicago Ms. (hope I didn't leave anyone out). Miss you all and will be back Monday.

We are leaving in about one hour to Binghamton to see Alana. Today's her birthday (19)!!!!!!! Can't believe my baby girl is 19! Anyway, she couldn't come home for the weekend so we're going to her. Couldn't let this be her first birthday ever without mom and dad - NO WAY JOSE! So, we'll stay until tomorrow and maybe willie and I will also have a little "honeymoon"

Talk to you's soon my buddies!

Hugs,

Zoe, let's all just hang in there. Your idea of not using the "D" word makes perfect sense to me. It's just the right way to eat, don't want to look at it as deprivation.

Dianne, have fun visiting Alana, and wish her a Happy Birthday!!

Es, how is your cholesterol level? Hope it was good news.

We began decorating the living room today, as we're having an entertainment center delivered in a few weeks.....I've been washing walls and sanding woodwork all morning and am already pooped! :( Got to exercise more, I know it builds up my stamina.

Spring has definitely sprung here...the daffodils are in bloom, the first flowers to show and they're so pretty :D

Have a great weekend and HI  to all.

Well, here I sit, didn't go to church and feeling guilty. Why was I so lazy this morning anyway?? The fact is yesterday, the company golf tournament was rained out after only 9 holes, my son drove down to Austin after that (over night) and Greg, is out on the golf course this morning. <sigh> I guess I just felt tired and lazy and that's not a good excuse.

As most of you know, I hate exercise and really do need to get myself motivated. Here I am, 40-something not really looking my age and I want to get myself staying looking younger so I am going to be moving this summer. I'm going to be playing some golf, (taking lessons) I'm going to be roller skating on a trail with a friend about 2 or so times a week (that's great for your hips and thighs) and the healthclub I belong to (Bally's) is going to be seeing me again. :D With it being summer time and it staying light later, Greg and Chris will be playing golf alot so I may as well do something productive for myself, right???

Ok, I've rambled enough but it sure feels good to be back here and back on track.

Hello:wave:

ZOE, you're going to be really active this summer. Sounds like fun.
I didn't go to church either. I feel guilty too. :(

JEN, my cholesterol was up 1 point. Do they call it points? I don't know. Anyway, they doubled my meds. This has always been a problem for me. To top it off I was up 2 lbs. at weighin:mad: I bet it was that darn chinese food. I think I'm going to stay away from it for awhile. I knew I was up cause my wedding ring felt tight. In the past I would have never weighed in knowing I gained but this time I forced myself. Next week will be a better week. :)

DIANNE, tell Alana I said Happy Birthday. They grow up so fast. How was your honeymoon? ;)

Well just wanted to stop by & say hi. I didn't want to be MIA for too long. I'm still motivated for our Spring challenge.

Till tomorrow.

Love,

Gee, since exercise is supposed to help lower cholesterol, wouldn't you think it'd help yours stay under control, seeing how much you work out? not fair at all! Hang in there...good going on weighing in after all.

Zoe,
You have made great plans for exercising! Way to go.

We grilled outdoors yesterday for the first time this year :D Are enjoying a mini heat wave, it's going to be 80 today. I've got to lose some weight this week......am sweating like crazy while working on the living room, drinking lots of water!

Jen,
Congrats on redoing the Livingroom. I would like to do that myself but I think I will wait till my 12 yr old cat is gone. I don't think I'd have the heart to make him stay off the new furniture.

Everyone,
I have been very bad this week. I have gone out for at least 1 meal a day since last Wed. I am very much expecting a gain when I WI on Wed. Besides TOM is due on Thur. Like you guys always say there are always new beginnings.

Morning guys

Home today - have a toothache and waiting for dentist to open - my favorite thing in the whole wide world - going to the dentist - NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!! But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Alana's birthday was fun - we took her and her roommate Angela to dinner in a place called "The Lost Dog", Strange name but great restaurant. The decor was very NYC / Soho and the food was fabulous. I had something called "Shrimp Amore" (can you tell I love shrimp???) It was shrimp and penne (can you tell I love penne???) pasta in a creme sauce with sun dried tomatoes, splashes of spinach, artichoke hearts..........OMG, to die for:devil: So that was my OFF, OFF Program meal for the weekend, but I already knew I was gonna go off for her birthday. You know my favorite saying "life gets in the way" sometimes:s: Now, back to reality and trying to see a difference hopefully on the scale this weekend.

As for a honeymoon, that didn't quite work out, cause after we went to dinner and a movie with Alana, we took her back to her dorm and she wanted to play cards. So she and I played while willie fell asleep watching a video, By the time we went back to the hotel, we barely brushed our teeth before falling into bed and fast asleep:lol: Oh well, I did enjoy the bed though, it was KING size - when I rolled over and looked for willie, he was waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy down there somewhere, not like he usually is, squishing me till I almost fall off the bed. Gotta get a king size bed one of these days, lol.

Okay, now I've written a book, sorry. Hope you are all doing well. Great weather here in NY too - will be 80 today. After I return from the dentist, if I'm not high on novacaine, I will take a walk in my beautiful Charles Park by the water. I hope you all have a great day and I'll see you's tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

Janie,
I hate to say it's been 7 years since we've done anything in the living room. 3 years ago we redid the kitchen and the powder room because Jess had her wedding here, 110 guests, and I was freaking out that we needed to do the work.....we work better under pressure! lol
Now, we're having the ent. center delivered, and HAD to do the room before we waiting any longer (again, working better under pressure!). It's just a mini facelift, no new carpeting....we're waiting a couple more years for that. Our cat, Alex, is 15, and would not do well w/new carpets, as we never had him de-clawed.

Dianne,
mmm I would die for that dish! I LOVE pasta, artichoke hearts, garlic, tomatoes......my dream trip is to Italy. Hopefully it'll happen one of these years. Joe has been leery of going overseas in the past few years. I do try to do pasta dishes as much as possible when the garden is producing tomatoes, peppers, etc.
We've had a king-size bed for 24 years (right before Joey was conceived  ) and I would never ever go smaller.
Sorry about your tooth....take care.

We broke records for the warmest days on record....it was 88 yesterday! Very warm and sticky for April. Even more so when we can't turn on the air due to plaster dust, yuck!

HI to everyone.......where are you?????Spring fever?????

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing okay. I'm computer-less at home for the moment. I had to ship my computer to Hewlett Packard in order to have my 3.5 floppy replaced. I hope they return it soon. I'm having to use the computers at school so I probably won't be checking in everyday.

Well, I'm still trying to get op. I'm meeting a friend this afternoon for a walk. Hopefully that will be the first step in getting back on track.

Hi Girls,

I just read how I ended my post this morning. You could tell I was in a rush. I meant to say "have a great day Buddies". I hate rushing.

Ruth, it's such a bummer being without a PC. I haven't been online that much lately. It interferes with my exercise routine so I had to cut back.

Jen, your cat is as old as mine. It's a blessing that they live so long. I have a female. Her name is Fluffy. I had her front paws declawed when she was a couple of months old. I love when she sleeps next to Susie, my chihuahua. They look real cute together.

I'm sitting here eating light popcorn with a diet snapple for lunch. Bought a healthy choice dinner for this evening. I really got to get on the ball. The hot weather is here & I'm panicking. Gotta break out my summer clothes.

Well, I'll be back later.

Just a quick note before class. I finally got off my @$$ yesterday and took that walk I've been talking about for 2 months. :smug: My friend Tanya and I walked 8 laps at the park, which was 1 lap less than 3 miles. We plan to meet again this afternoon. Just maybe I'm back on the road to being on track.

ES, you and Jen's talk about cats made me miss mine. I had a beautiful charcoal gray cat that was awesome. There are several commercials that have cats that look just like him, everytime I see them I think about him. He disappeared two Christmases ago. I really think he went off somewhere to die. His personality changed the last few months before he went missing. He became more lovable and would jump up in our laps and sleep. He had never done that before.

Well, I've got to head for class. Will check in later.

Hello my friends ~ Just a quick note, can’t stay……we had a BIG storm here this week, lots of thunder and lightening and a TORNADO that touched down only 5 blocks from my house!! What a fright! Anyway, the lightening fried my cable modem and they don’t just let you come get another one. You have to make an appt. and let them come do it for you. Pooh! So I am typing this from work but too busy to ‘chat’. I miss you's guys……hopefully I’ll be back up and running next week.

Oh, by the way, I lost 5 1/2 pounds this week!! Woo Hoo!!:D:D

Hi everyone,
Well, hope always springs eternal for us, doesn't it? I have been on and off program so much in the last three weeks that I didn't even step on the scale. At the start of our Spring Challenge I was 227, then lost....then maintained....twice.....then-I-don't-know-anymore! I just got off the scale, am at 224. I'll take it :)

I've been trying very hard to simply stop overeating. And to drink more water, which has been easy lately cause it's been
HOT here for April! If I stray off program, I still try to eat less so the day won't be a total loss (I'm a victim of the "all or nothing mentality")

Ruth, it was so sad to hear about your cat. They come to mean so much to us. Alex is a black and white longhair, looks just like Sylvester in the cartoons. He's a snob, which is fine with me, cause he's not clingy. And....good going on the walk!

Zoe,
WAY TO GO! Those big losses are inspiring, go for it. Wow, it's a good thing your house was spared from the storm! That can be scary.

Es, how's it going? I've been depending on LeanCuisines, etc. for lunches alot lately. They're mindless, premeasured, just what I need to keep me focused during the midday.

Hi to Myra, Dianne, Sandy, Janie, Pogo, and I'm hoping I didn't miss anyone

Es & JEn,
I agree with you the Lean Cousine, Healthy Choice, WW Smart Ones, etc. are the best way to go for lunch. I wouldn't be where I am without them. I don't have time in the morning to think about how many points I am packing for lunch. I take one of those, a piece of fruit, and carrots or a salad. That way my lunch is never more than 8pts and sometimes as low as 4. The problem is the days when I go out for lunch. I try to avoid that, preferring to Walk 2 miles and eat my sack lunch. Sometimes it can't be avoided, like last week:nono:

ZOe,
I am not sure, but I think you have recorded the highest 1 week loss since I have been on this board. COngratulations!!!! You are awesome. If I could do that I would be at goal. Please tell me how you did it????? Please...Please...:^:

Everyone,
You folks back east have been talking about the HOT weather. Here in "sunny California" it has been cold, blustery and windy. I have been walking, but I've had to really bundle up. Yesterday I walked 2 miles, did 30 min on hte treadmill and 20 min on the lifecycle. Today I only walked 1 mile at lunch. I probably won't get to walk again tonight because it is girls night out wiht Ellen tonight. I hope I make better choices than I did last week.

Take care everyone,

Zoe, that is an awesome loss. High five Girlfriend!!!!! You did something right:D

Jen, my pal, I'm doing pretty good. It's been so hot the past few days. I've been doing 20 minute workouts. I figured it's better than nothing right? I always have lean cuisines, smart ones or healthy choice in my freezer. I have to make this program as easy as possible.

I bought the 10 week program. Need all the motivation I can get. I'll weighin Saturday.

Next week is my birthday, Friday :) I'll be 48. I hope my co-workers don't plan to take me out for lunch. I really don't want to go out to eat twice. I'll be going to the Red Lobster with Pete & David if he could get the day off. My birthday is not a big deal anymore.

Janie, I wish I had your weather. I hate hot weather. Give me Spring & Fall anyday. WTG with exercising.;)

Ruth, I'm happy to hear you're back to your walking routine. Sorry to hear about your cat. Since mine is old I keep a close eye on her. When people come to visit right away she gets nervous & jumps on the window sill. God forbid if someone tries to pet her!!! She panics & hisses. She's very crabby. Just like an old lady:lol:

Well buddies, have a good night.

Hi everyone,

It's Friday and I should weigh in....we'll see. I haven't done much this week. We had one hot day - up to 90 degrees! I think I last walked on Monday. I have to get re-motivated...

I'll be away this weekend looking at a college with my son. He has to choose in the next week or so. I'm bringing my sneakers and plan on walking alot.

Hope you all have a nice weekend, I'll be back on Wednesday.

Morning everyone,

POGO, have fun with your son checking out colleges. Does he have any preferences yet? Good luck on the weigh in. Don't worry, I haven't been on track since our Spring Challenge started. I know we are suppose to lose 10% which would be 16 lbs for me. But I would be thrilled to lose 10 lbs.

ES, good going buying the 10 week plan. I did too, but I haven't been probably in 6 weeks now. But as soon as I get off from here I will go check out the days and times again. I plan on starting back soon.

JEN, is school over yet. I can't remember if you are a week or so ahead or behind me. We have two weeks left and then finals. Oh guess what, I got a $1000 scholarship for the fall and spring terms. I was really surprised, I didn't even apply for it.

ZOE, glad to hear that your home wasn't in the way of the Tornado. We get the weather from the Dallas area here in Shreveport, this one didn't do as much damage as the one 2 years ago, did it?

Well, I walked two miles last night. I plan on going again tonight. I'm not really focusing on my eating habits at the moment. I just want the walking to become a routine, then I'll worry about the food.

See you later,
Ruth

HI gals,
Ellen decided that she wanted to do fast food take out last night and eat at home. That was fine with me. I got her the KFC she wanted and when I got home I made myself a light pasta dish. Stayed OP even with the glass of wine. I think she wanted to eat at home with mom last night because tonight she leaves on her first BRownie camping trip. I think she needed some down time with mom. We spent the evening packing all of her gear, and had a lot of fun telling her about my girlscout camping adventures. It was a special evening:angel:

Tonight, Steve doesnt' know it yet, but he's taking me to an Indian resteraunt that just opened:s: I have no idea what the menu is like, but I will try to make good choices. Indian food is mostly vegetables, right? How bad could it be?

Happy Friday!!

Hi all,

I just had to write! I dragged myself to the meeting and lost 2 pounds! I don't get it....but, I'll take it!

I'm packing and planning on lots of walks while I'm gone. Will check in Wednesday!

I just love scrolling thru these posts - it's great to know you're all out there doing the same!

Have a great weekend!

Pogo, two pounds is so great, you're very close to goal, aren't you?

Janie, you have such a good relationship with Ellen. That's something that she will always be able to look back on fondly. My choice would have been pasta also ;) my absolute favorite! Let me know how the Indian restaurant was......I love to try new foods.

Ruth, I've got 5 weeks of school remaining,......it looks as though I may have my final on my birthday, the 23rd. Hope not! Very cool about that scholarship, what was it for? I'm not taking any classes this summer, will probably take one in the fall.

Es, I stocked up again today on the frozen meals, my freezer was empty. Before my sister moved, we bought her upright freezer, it's huge! We put it in the garage, and it's so great to have that extra freezer space. Joey has been working out and eating less, stocked the freezer with Lean Cuisines to take to work. He's lost 20 pounds in the last year, is now 6'4" and 220, and looks good. Just lost his love handles, and wants to lose 20 more.

We're going to Wisconsin tomorrow morning for two days of R & R. Joe really needs it. We'll go to the greyhound races, and the antique shops. Joe will get some fishing in if the weather co-operates. My brother and his wife are also going, we have a great time together.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend. See you on Sunday!

Hi girls, I'm at school, came up here to work on my algebra assignment, ofcourse I had to check in with ya'll first.

The weather is wonderful here. I've walked a total of 8 miles in the last four days. I'm feeling pretty good about it. I plan to walk down on the river front tomorrow, that should be a nice change from the small track at the park.

POGO, congratulations on the 2 lbs. You are doing so well. Keep up the good work.

JEN, hope you have fun this weekend. I love going away for a few days. Good luck on your finals, I hope they aren't on your birthday.

JANIE, sounds like you have such a wonderful relationship with Ellen, I know you must feel blessed.

Well off to the math books. I'll check again Monday.

Hi Girls:wave:

I'm home alone today. Pete went to PA to help my sister move. She sold her house. Now she lives across the street from me. Pete should be home soon. They left at 5:AM. I miss him:(

Pogo, good going with your 2 lb. loss!!! HIGH FIVE!!! :D

Janie, how was the restaurant? I never had Indian food. I'm very picky. David is picky just like his Mom. When we go out to eat it's either chinese, Red Lobster or the Olive Garden. Hope you had a nice time. ;)

Ruth, you're right back on track with your walking. WTG:D

Jen, I would love a freezer but I have no room. I would stock up. Lean Cusines will be on sale tomorrow. Have to go pick up a few. Don't the men lose so easily:mad: Pete cuts back just alittle & right away he loses weight! I have to practically starve myself just to lose 5 lbs.!

Mi Amiga/Dianne, where are you? Stop by & let us know how you're doing.

Well, Buddies, I better go just in case Pete tries to call.

Have a nice day:wave:

ES! Way to go on your loss! You're bound to reach your spring challenge goal that way. My bday is the 23rd of May, not this month.

We had a great time over the weekend. A change of scenery does a world of good, if even for only two days. Today was cold and rainy.....and we had the rotten luck of getting a flat tire on the drive home. I was a nervous wreck while Joe was changing it, with the freeway traffic speeding by. I (silently) prayed the Hail Mary over and over till we were safely back in the car and on our way!

See you all tomorrow,

Hi! Can I join in your group (I'm 41 if that qualifies me!). Right now I don't have a points calculator thingie (bidding on one on eBay as we speak) but when it arrives I'll start in earnest. Did WW back about 3-1/2 yrs. ago, was beginning to see results but stopped attending meetings when we moved. Since then I've bounced around in the 160-170 lb. range, would like to get to 140. Also trying to start exercising consistently (got a book called "Escape Your Shape" with exercises geared towards certain body types). I know I need lots & lots of support, 'cause right now I feel like I'm in this alone (my husband doesn't care if he loses weight or not, and he needs to drop about 20 lbs.; also he doesn't care if I lose weight!).

Anyways, hope to hear from someone, looking forward to LOSING ... once and for all!

Welcome Holly Girl! Everyone here weighs in on different days, some of us are not as diligent as others ;) Essie (LivingHealthy) inspired us to begin the Spring Challenge; I know it's definitely helped me focus much more than I've been in the past! I'm 48, from the Chicago area, married 31 yrs., have a daughter who's 28, with 2 sons, 6 and almost 2 (my buddies!) and a son at home who's 23. Looking forward to getting to know you!

Janie, good luck on your interview! I've got confidence in you, and hope to hear good news. Is the position very different from what you do now?

Es, I'm very picky about eating most meats, don't like fish, you'd think I'd be a rail! Have you been going to the gym to workout, or doing it at home?

Well, week #1 of the living room work is finished....the prepping, washing, priming, etc. This week will see us finishing the project, completing the painting by Saturday.....keep your fingers crossed! I've tried to do as much of the work myself as possible, as Joe is (understandably) tired when he gets home from work. It's still slow going, as there are things I can't do/reach, even with ladders!

We're going to see Brandon tomorrow evening in his kindergarten's Spring Recital.....we haven't seen the boys in 2 weeks and I miss them.

HI  to everyone.

Hello My Buddies:)

HOLLYGIRL, I use to weigh myself every morning. I don't do that anymore. It's made a big difference. I feel more relaxed about doing this. Before I was obsessed. A small gain led to many set backs which I should have known better cause I usually retain water. I'm going to do this for the rest of my life & weighing myself everyday is not something I would want to do for the rest of my life. Once a week is working for me. As long as you journal, drink your water, exercise if you can you'll be alright. It's a slow process but it works. Stick with us & we'll help you thru this. I love this group. We've become friends & I think that is very special. We talk about everything.

JEN, you've been very busy girl. I've been working out at home. I was with my brother yesterday & he said he's going to set me up with an "at home exercise program". In conversation, he brought up that he was training a few girls from a doctors office & that he's working with The Doctor on a weight/wellness management program and guess what? IT'S MY DOCTOR!!!!! I screamed when he told me. I could not believe it. I've been with my Dr. for 15 years & her assistant, that takes my blood pressure & weighs me, I noticed looked thinner but I never asked her what she was doing. It turns out my brother is her personal trainer. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I'm so proud of him. He's come a long way. He even came out in our newpaper(Newsday) last year. Awwwww Brandon's Kindergarten Recital - they're going to look so cute. I bet the boys miss you too.

JANIE, go by your feelings. If you feel the Lord gave you a sign then go for it! I'll say a little prayer for you tonight.

Hi everybody:wave:

I'm a (not so fab) ;) 47 but trying to get there! :) I've been OP now for 1 week (lost 6 lbs) and 2 days and would LOVE to loose 10% by summer. For me that's 26.4 lbs. When does summer start anyway???

I'm married, have one grown son and we share our house with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 goldfish, 2 cockatiels and 6 parakeets. (They keep reproducing, anybody want to adopt a pair?)

I've been in good health most of my life although I've struggled with my weight for years. The last few years though, my health has started to deteriorate and I've reached a point where I know I have to loose the weight to regain my health.

So here I am. I look forward to sharing with y'all! Let's all stay OP together!

Hi Meanerney...interesting name, what does it mean?
Summer begins on June 21. I've got to lose 22.7 to reach my 10% by then.....I'm at a total loss of 4 pounds. I definitely have my work cut out for me.....but will never give up.
Carrying extra weight really does become more of a problem the older we get. There are enough possible health issues to worry about in the coming years, we can't have our weight be one of them.
I think you'll like it here, good luck!

Morning ladies,

Welcome HOLLY GIRL and MEANERNEY!! This is a wonderful group to belong to and they are very supportive. We really have all become friends and we support each other in all areas of our life.

I'm a 44 year old college student, married almost 18 years to a wonderful man, mother of 2 daughters ages 24 and 21, and I have a stepdaughter who is also 21. I also have FOUR beautiful grandchildren, Nicholas 8, Caylin 3, Aliyah 9 months old and Dylan 4 months old. Oh, I can't forget my Shih Tzu GIZMO. I have been overweight most of my adult life. My highest weight has been 188 lbs (I'm only 5'1") and I am now currently weighing 162. So, my spring challenge is to lose 16 lbs before the first day of summer. If a make it I will should weigh 146, but truthfully, I'd be happy weighing 150. I am currently walking almost everday (as of last Wednesday). I've logged 15 miles since then with another 3 miles planned for today. I've been off the wagon for several months now, I'm currently concentrating on the walking and trying to increase my water intake. I will focus more on the food issues as I feel more confident that my walking has become a routine.

JANIE, good luck with the interview. I'm sure you will do just fine.

JEN, sounds like you have your work cut out for you. As soon as school is over I will be doing some serious spring cleaning at my home. I'm glad that I don't need to paint anything!!

ES, well it is your dreaded Tuesday. I hope you have had a wonderful day. Just remember tomorrow is hump day and the week will almost be over.

Hello to the rest of you. Hope you check in soon, we miss you.

Good morning, ladies!

Thanks for the warm welcome Jen, ES, and Ruth!

Jen, Meanerney is a nickname from childhood from a little boy who couldn't pronounce my name (Melonee). All of the "regular" usernames I tried seemed to be taken! Almost two months til summer, I think we can actually make our 10% goal!!

ES, I agree -- journal, water and exercise are the key. So far I've gotten the journal down, am working on the water, but the exercise.....:o only occasional walking.

Ruth, Give yourself a big hand for getting back into walking! :strong: After many, many diets, I know how important it is to start OP when you are really ready. Exercise and water are wonderful changes! Give Gizmo a pat on the head for me (I  animals!)

My mantra today is: water

Hope y'all have a beautiful day!

Hi gals,
Well I had my interview this morning. It consisted of a 30 min seminar then about 50 minutes of grilling by the search committee. The job is similar to my current one in that it is still environmental science, but it is more applied and less reasearch. I would be responsible for all the air pollution regulatory modeling for the laboratory. My current job is developing and testing models. I think it went pretty well. At least 2 of the committee members seemed quite impressed. The other 2 didn't say much. I thought that they were only interviewing 2 people, but today I found out that they are interviewing 4 or 5 people of the 10 or so people that applied. I didn't think I had so much competition...bummer. They are interviewing 1 per week and I was the second so it will be at least a month before I find out. I hope that doesn't mean that I need a month of comfort foods ;)

I am going to take it fairly easy for the rest of the day. I am mentally drained.

Tomorrow we are going to see the Yankees :spin:
I can't wait.

Welcome Mel, You're in the right place for support, as you can probably tell by my long dissertation above. These gals are the best.

Welcome Holly Girl!

This is a great place to pick up some motivation. I'm 46...married 23 years...3 kids (20yo daughter, 18yo & 15yo sons!). I like to walk, although I did give running a try a couple of years ago! Might try it again...?

I started w/WW 17 years ago, did loose the weight pretty easily and became a "lifetime member"....in the meantime, the weight has crept up and I would make "guest appearances" at meetings. I started back again, this time in January. I'm working on the Spring Challenge of losing the 10% - for me that's 16 pounds. I'm about half-way there.

Ruth, I've been walking alot too. I was away in Columbia, SC over the weekend - way hot! But I walked and drank tons of water! We'll see how that shows up at my Friday weigh in!

Hi to Es, Jen, Janie, Diane....and all the rest!

Hello all,

I had to struggle to stay OP yesterday, but I managed. It was because I didn't make my lunch/snacks for work and then chose to go to Burger King for two junior chicken whoppers :o , sans mayo;) , instead of the grocery for a frozen OP lunch. Unhappy about eating all my proteins and bread before dinner, I worried about not having a satisfying supper so I ended up using the rest of my optional points on WOW  chips and chocolate sauce for my strawberries. Wish me luck staying OP 2 1/2 more days with no more optional calories! (I'm on personal choice plan.)

JanieD, Sounds like the interview went very well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get the job.:) What interesting work! We should compare notes on On Program comfort foods. Maybe write a book? Hummm..... Have fun at the game! I'm a Marlin's fan (still).

Pogo, You sound like you'll make your goal in no time if you keep walking! I'm just concentrating on staying OP for week 2 right now, maybe I'll add regular walking before too long.

It's another beautiful day in Florida. Hope y'all have a good one!

POGO, how tall are you? Wow, you've already lost 8 lbs of your spring challenge weight. That is awesome. I guess I've just gotten started on mine. Story of my life, "a day late and a dollar short". Good going on the walking. I've noticed that I'm not eating from anxiety or boredom as much since I started walking last week. Also, I don't seem to have as many aches and pains.

Hi My Buddies:wave:,

I really missed you all lately, I want to say a big hello and welcome to HollyGirl and Meanerney

I am really psyched now. I may be lagging on our spring challenge, but I am 100% now. Two days totally OP and the house is stocked with lots of my favorites that will keep me that way.
My mom is recovering so well from the surgery it is unbelievable. I have been spending a lot of time with her. She hasn't really been able to walk since her accident in Nov 1998. Yesterday she was using a rolling walker and we did lots of errands together. I didn't even need to get her wheelchair out of the van once! I was so delighted that I had a giggling fit, and just about started to cry.

Hi Janie, good luck with the job process.
Hi Es, enjoy your birthday!

Hi Jen,Ruth, Zoe, Pogo

I hope to have more time on line, but my garden obsession is taking me over and I may be digging. At least it will make me :strong:.

HI Gals,
The game last night was great. We had about 3 families that we knew were going to the game so we brought our van-camper and had a tailgate party before. One of the people was from Hungary and had neither been to a baseball game nor a tailgate party so she thought the whole process was a lot of fun. I think she is going to take the tailgate party idea back home with her for when she and her friends go to soccer games. The Yankees won 8-5 and if I am not mistaken the Red Sox lost so that puts us only 1 game out of first. (Sorry Sandy and Pogo).

Es,
Derek is still as cute as ever:love:! You really need to send me a pic of David <dignon@llnl.gov>
Ball Park food is so bad :nono: I pigged Out totally:ink: I even had 3 beers (Steve was driving.) Back OP today.

Sandy, Ruth, Mel, Es, and anyone else I might have missed :o:,
Thank you all for the job well wishes. I've done all I can do... now it is in the Lord's hands.

Sandy,
So glad to hear your mom is recovering. What do you plant in your garden? We have corn, snap peas, carrots, edemame, cucmbers, summer squash, peppers, tomatos and herbs. The carrots are almost ready and we've already harvested all of the radishes.

Have a great Thur everyone,

Boy did I miss all of you!!!! Now I know how frustrating it must be for Terri. She sent me an email the other day & wanted me to tell everybody she misses being here.

JANIE, I'll ask Dave to send me a picture & I'll send it to you. One of the girls I work with met him & I think she has a crush on him. Would it be a crush if you're 37 yrs. old? I'm not to crazy about the idea. Pete is going nuts because cable wants to charge us to watch the Yankee games! Totally ridiculous:rolleyes: The only way he gets to hear the game is on the radio. I feel so bad for him. He's truly a Yankee fan. I hope Cablevision resolves this problem soon.

SANDY:wave: I was beginning to worry about you. Great news about your Mom. Awwwww you had me all teary eyed.
The Spring Challenge is exactly that, a challenge. I had a hard time yesterday & now tomorrow with my birthday & all we'll see what happens. My sister would never let a birthday of mine go by without getting me a cake. :T I've been exercising a lot so that helps.

HOLLYGIRL, it doesn't matter if you're not officially on program. Stop by anyway. Something will click, you'll see.:)

POGO, good luck on your weigh in.

MEL, you're doing the old program? My cousin lost 40 lbs. on that one & has kept it off for 5 yrs. She still follows it. Whatever works right? ;) Is that the one that gives you 700 optional calories for the whole week?

MI AMIGA, WHERE ARE YOU?

Jen, how's it going with you? Did you ever get to order the walking tapes? There is a lady at my job that whenever she hears I'm back on WW she starts Atkins. {{{errrr}}}} She's trying to prove that hers works better. I'll show her:p

Happy Friday, everyone!

Es, hope your birthday is everything you want it to be. Everyone has to have a cake on their birthday! I know you'll be good. Enjoy your dinner....Red Lobster, right? Yes, I did get the Leslie Sansone walking tapes, along with the blue balls  I'm very anxious to begin using them, but the entire tv/vcr/dvd system is packed up due to the painting job! :dizzy: Now that the weather here is halfway decent, I've been able to get out for some walks.

Sandy, that's such great news about your Mom! She has made such remarkable progress; I'm sure it is a big relief for you. I didn't realize you were into gardening also. We have a veggie garden that's about 20 x 20, and lots of flower beds. Unfortunately we have only the summer months to enjoy it. I'd love to live in a warmer climate with a longer growing season.

Janie, glad you had a good time at the game. I'm really itching to begin planting, we're in zone 5, which means this weekend is generally our last frost date. We try to get the garden in by Memorial Day each year. Mmmm, can't wait !

Ruth!!!! way to go on the walking :D how's school? The class I'm in has dwindled from about 44 to 20. It's a challenge, that's for sure. We've got an exam next week, then 3 weeks after that is our final. I'll be putting in even more study time than usual for the next month.
Keep up the good walks!

HollyGirl, I'm not an official member of WW. I've joined and rejoined many times over the last 15 years. Now I'm simply trying to follow the points program (the best!) and do some type of physical activity each day.

Pogo, good luck at weigh in today. That walking must have done some good! You're at half of your 10% ? awesome! :D

Mel, not bringing lunch from home always used to do me in. It can be difficult to make healthy choices when you're hungry and pressed for time!

Dianne, Myra, Zoe.....HI

Hello:D

Thank you for the birthday wishes. You are all so kind.

Jen, we're going to the Red Lobster. I would like to go early so David could come with us. He starts work at 3:00 so I guess we'll be going around 1:00 for lunch. I'm going to enjoy it but with good choices. ;) Let me know how you like the walking tapes. I know you're very busy right now but at least you get out when you can. Every little bit helps.

Ruth, 65 minutes of walking is EXCELLENT!!!! I am so proud of you. Keep up the good work.

HollyGirl, I'm officially a member. I rejoined 4 weeks ago & have lost 6 lbs. It's a slow process but that's okay. I've been back & forth for a very long time. I have never given up because this is the only program that you can stick with for life. Keep coming here & we'll help you stay on track. :) One of the girls from this group joined WW online & she likes it. Her name is Terri. She's been have problems logging in here.

I probably won't be back till this evening. Thanks again for the birthday wishes.

Love,

Happy Birthday Essie!!!!
Hope it is very special. Have a bite of cake for all of us!! I hope it's chocolate :T:

Hollygirl,
I am a lifetime member but I don't go to meetings anymore. I am following the points program and weighing myself in on Wed mornings. I have lost about 30 pounds since last July 4th. I am about 5 lbs from goal, and have been stuck here since January. I am pretty good about exercising but having broken my elbow back in december has put some limitations on it. I try to walk at least 2 miles/day and then I usually add 2 or 3 visits to the gym per week as well:strong:

Everyone,
I fogot to tell you all that I am having an MRI on my elbow next Tue. The Dr. thinks that there might be some cartalage (SP?) floating around in there. If so, I will have to have orthroscopic. Not a pleasant thought, but it could be worse. ALso someone backed into my car in the school parking lot. It has been an interesting week. TGIF:spin:

Hugs,
JanieD

Okay, I got my PointsFinder today -- it's hard to believe, but I'm so excited!! I need someone to tell me how many points I can have in a day. I forgot how to calculate that, is it based on what I need to lose or what I currently weigh or what? Can anyone give me some guidelines or point me in the right direction? I currently weigh 166, goal is 140.

Thanks!!

Hi Girls:wave:

HOLLYGIRL, daily points go by how much you weigh.
Yours would be 20-25 pts. 150 lbs. thru 174 lbs. gets that amount. When you are below 150 you go down to 18-23 pts.

The Red Lobster was nice. We went around 2:00. David couldn't go:( Pete was tired cause he hadn't slept. He still works the night shift. So I just went to the video store & rented a movie. It was quiet & boring. We're suppose to go to the movies today to see High Crimes with Ashley Judd.

Well guys, I'll be back later on.

Have a nice day everybody:wave:

Hello my friends  I'm fixed, I'm fixed, my modem is fixed!! I can't believe that the cable company wouldn't just let us go get another modem and bring it home, plug it in and be done with it. NOooooooooo, they want to make an appt to come to the house (and not imediately either as you have seen) and then not just fix it but try to find something else wrong. Thank goodness I had my computer whiz son Chris here to wait for them. Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm back up and running and so glad to be back online. I've missed you all!

:hb: :hb: :hb: :hb: :hb:
Happy Birthday Es!!!!!!!!! :D:D

Welcome to Mel and Hollygirl ~ sorry I wasn't around to give you a big welcome when you got here but I had computer problems.....poor Terri, I can't imagine how she's doing with being here. :?:

I have to go back and re-read all the posts......Nothing new, unfortunately, the same old stuff....work and home, busy and busy. Ha! We will be leaving next Saturday afternoon for Williamsburg, VA for vacation. We're only going to be gone from Saturday through late Wednesday but 5 days is 5 days. I need to get away.

have a great weekend you's guys.....it's great to be back!

Hello Friends,

I'm so happy to report that after a kind of hard week staying OP (but I DID stay on! ) I lost 5 pounds this week! That makes a total of 11 for my two weeks OP:jig: I don't think I would have made it without y'all!

It's great to see so many posts since I logged in last!

First, let me add, ES:

Happy Birthday to you, :)
Happy Birthday to you, ;)
Happy Birthday, Dear ES, :hb:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to You!!!!

A little cake and lobster is good for you! You deserve a treat on your special day! (Now just remember to get right back on program!) BTW, the plan I'm on does have 700 optional calories and 14 "personal choices" that you add each week. I really like it.

JanieD, Thanks for the bio. I'm 47, a librarian, wife, mother of a grown step-son, companion to a Corgi mix, a terrier mix, a big sweet white male cat, a big smart black male cat, 6 parakeets and two whistling cockatiels. Oh yes, and 2 goldfish! I'm also a Marlins fan :o , still. Go Yankees! Aren't ballgames fun? I love hotdogs and beer too, lucky I don't make it to games very often. No change at WI was a good thing (easy for me to say huh?)! Remember you've already lost THIRTY! Wow! Thats a big inspiration!

HollyGirl, Hi! Congratulations, you are on the road to weight loss! I'm on an old "personal choice" program and don't go to meetings. The support on this site is very helpful to me. It takes a real committment and you can do it! I'm on Saturday (or Friday night) WI too! Let us know how you do next week.

Sandy, Way to go staying OP! Glad you mother is making a good recovery. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Ruth, Walking 4 miles in 45 minutes is GREAT! :strong: I still have a longggggg way to go, but am slowing exercising a little more each week. I'd love to be able to walk even a mile without distress. You are great!

Welcome back, Zoe! When our PC broke down last time, we just put off getting it fixed and now aren't connected at home. I have a computer at work, so do my personal stuff during my personal time. We'll have to buy a new PC one of these days. Hope you have a wonderful time in Williamsburg! Have you been before? It's one of our favorite places to visit and the weather should be just perfect for you.

Hi Jen!

Hope I didn't miss anybody. My menu for yesterday:

4 pieces of lite toast = 2 breads, margarine, jelly = 2 fats, 40 optional cals

PAM stir fried onions, peppers and tofu = 2 veggies, 1 protein, with a garam masala, yogurt sauce = 1 milk

pasta tossed with gargonzola cheese, black pepper, and PAM stir fried mushrooms, onions and sliced tofu = 3 breads, 3 proteins, 2 veggies, 2 personal choices

Hope y'all enjoy this beautiful weekend and stay OP!

Love,
Mel

WELCOME BACK ZOE!!!! WE missed you. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

Mel, WOW 5 lbs. is great!!!! 11 in 2 weeks I'd be on cloud nine. High five to you!:D Have you ever tried the points system?
The plan you're on was one of my favorites. I did really well on that one.

HollyGirl, be strong. I know you'll get tempted to weigh in during the week cause it happens to me. I'm letting this week go cause I know I'm going to be up. I had chinese food today & it always makes me puffy the next day.

We went to the movies & we really enjoyed it. I love Ashley Judd. Morgan Freeman was in it too. Another great actor. When we got out we ordered chinese take out. We always order the same thing, chicken & broccoli with white rice. Didn't count points yesterday or today.:( I know, I know:nono: I'll get back on track tomorrow.

Have a great day Jen, Dianne, Sandy, Ruth, Pogo, Janie & Myra. Myra, hope all is well:wave:

Please catch me up on anything important I missed and introduce me to any newbies. I will read a little a day. I hope this keeps up.
My 3 kids are fine. We went to D.C. over Spring Break and I walked so much I thought I'd die. It was wonderful.
We may go to Colorado Springs for 6 weeks over the summer. Bruce is working with the Air Force on a project. We will see.
I can't wait to hear from y'all.
Sorry I am posting so much but I just can't believe it is working.

Could you also write down all the names of our group in case I haven't read them all yet? I sure don't want to miss anyone.
Here is who I remember: Jen , Essie, Dianne, Zoe, Sandy, Ruth, Myra and Joyce.
Thanks so much,

Hi again.
I wanted to tell y'all that I found a great new site. You might know about it but here it is. Someone sent it to me. It has a lot of info for ww. http://whererhodiesgrow.com/weightwatchers/index.html

I was reading the pages and there are alot of great losses. "Weigh to go"

Yes Holly Girl I do on-line now. I did the meetings until I reached goal. I stay here because of on-line and e-mail and this support. If I quit any of it I will surely gain it back. Nice to meet you btw.

Hi Pogo, Amiga and Meanerney.

Jen,
Hope you had a great time in Wisconsin. That Paul McCartney sounds great. I love his Freedom song. Sorry about your sister's move to Arkansas. Congrats on your new living room. Sounds like fun to have a new look.

Ruth,
What surgery did you have? I hope you are ok.

JanieD, WOW! You are almost there. That is super. I am so proud of you. That is sweet about your 12 yr. old cat. I love animals. I hope you have good news on your elbow.

Es,
I hope your Cholesterol goes down. I am glad you are taking care of yourself my friend. Britts says hi. She was so excited when I got in. That 4.2 was a great loss.

Zoe,
Great loss girlfriend. I am so glad that tornado wasn't any closer. Scary huh? Glad you are ok.

Dianna, Happy Birthday to Alana. My Brittany will be 16 a week from today. Can't believe it. Hope the dentist wasn't too bad.

Myra,
Hope things slow down for you. Miss you! I know you are still doing an awsome job on the exercising.

I promise this will be the last post until it warrants a reply.
I am just so excited to be back with this great group of girls.
Watch this not work. I will throw this computer through the window.

Es, mi Amiga - I feel like crying!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry I missed your birthday!!!!! HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!!!!! I hope it was a good one for you.

Terri!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG - I'm so glad you are back. We missed you soooooooooo much. Welcome back. Thanks for the birthday wishes for Alana. Wow, I can't believe Britt is gonna be sweet 16! I thought she was like 12 or 13, lol! Anyway, its really good to have you back as I'm sure everyone here has let you know.
P.S. Mi amiga (my friend) is what Es and I use for each other - we got a little spanish thingy going on, lol.

I'm sorry I haven't been around lately - just really busy time at work, we have commencement meetings constantly, lol. Its not as easy as it looks, when you see all those smiling graduates, you don't realize all the work it takes to make the event happen and to get it as near perfect as possible, lol. Its worth it though! Plus, of course I'm still going to the hospital to see my mom. I stopped going every day, it was just too much. Anyway, she's still hanging in there, despite what the doctors predicted in the beginning. Its now been over a month and a half. She's off the respirator again and they are talking about transferring her to a nursing home next week. So, well see - one day at a time.

Hi to the newbies - Holly & Mel - WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME! I can't remember if I welcomed you or not Holly, but Mel I definitely know I didn't see you before. I hope you like it here. Great bunch of women - I love 'em!

Hi Jen, Zoe Girl, Janie, Pogo, Ruth, Sandy (welcome back!), is 40x40 and Chicago Ms. still with us??? Hi Myra - come back and see us girl - you are missed! Hope I didn't miss anyone, if so, please forgive me. I feel like I haven't been here in ages:D

I'll try to get back in tonight or Tuesday - Monday is bowling night so I prolly won't get here then.

Have a great sunday everyone and I'll talk to you's soon. For our newbies, "you's" is a term our girl Zoe uses alot - its kind of from NY, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, etc. So, please don't think we don't speak English properly:lol:

Dianne,
I didn't know your mom was in the hospital. I am so sorry. That must be awful for you. Don't feel guilty about not going every day. That would be soooooo hard, She knows you loved her and are always there for her.
I am so glad to be back. Who is graduating this year? You are always so busy. Is Alana coming home for the summer?
Take care and don't do too much.

DIANNE, you always crack me up:lol: I'm so sorry I haven't asked about your Mom. Now that I'm 48:dizzy: I'm even more forgetful!
Don't feel bad about my birthday, there will be many more:)

Terri, luckily you were able to come back as Points. I thought you were going to have to start all over with a new name. That would have been a bummer. My Jeter is fine. Still single & still working hard. Thanks for asking;)

Pete is being a real pain. He has a new cell so he's asking me 50 questions!!!

I'll be back later.

My sister, who's a whopping size 4, suggested that we go for Chinese today for lunch. Of course I said yes, even though I just started WW yesterday. I have an attitude that well, if SHE can eat it then why can't I eat it? Ahh, the difference is that I weigh 165+ and my sister might weigh 115. HUGE DIFFERENCE.

No one cares if I lose weight or not. And I know what you're going to say, I have to lose weight for ME, not for anyone else. Problem is, if I do lose weight for me, I'm still stuck in a boring marriage to a boring man who, even though he's only 46 acts more like he's 66.

I'm afraid that if I do lose weight that I'll become even more discontent, thinking that for some reason I deserve something beter than what I have now.

Plus, to make an already bad attitude even worse, my period just started. I'm ultra crabby right now.

There's someone I work with who I'll get to see tonight, unfortunately that's the high spot of my days, when I get to see this other guy.

My life is sucky right now. I'm fat and stuck where I am.

Sorry to be so negative, just needed to write it down. Now hopefully I can get on with life and find something to wear tonight that is comfortable and doesn't fit me like a tent.

So good to come in here and see your posts!!!!! I've missed you terribly, and am relieved that you found a way to get back in here.

Can't stay long, have been studying all afternoon, with no end in sight.....at least till the exam on Thursday.

Hope everyone's well. Now we just have to find Myra. She did say this is a very busy time of year for her, perhaps her absence is due to that.

Zoe! so glad you resolved your 'puter problems. They've become like our cars, a necessary evil, haven't they?

Dianne! take it easy and do something fun for yourself. By the way, I did make that chicken dish you recommended and we loved it. It's definitely a "make again".
