Default Good Tasting Protein Powder???

Hi all-
I'm searching for a good tasting protein powder!!! My boyfriend bought this stuff (I think it's called Elite or something), and it's "vanilla" flavored...I use that term VERY loosely, because it is absolutely disgusting.

I like chocolate, cappuccino, etc kind of flavors. I'll be mixing it with water (or maybe milk, on occasion) so I realize it's not gonna be absolutely delicious, but I'd appreciate any recommendations for something at least bearable!! Thanks in advance

I am wondering too. My aunt told me to start drinking protein shakes in the morning to give me a boost without taking the time to cook a meal. Any ideas anyone?

Great question - most protein powders are nasty! I would love to find one that doesn't make me want to gag.

But I don't have any suggestions.

I love Myogenix Myo Lean Evolution. It's a protein shake intended for meal replacement. I've tried many and it's by far the best, the french vanilla is to die for, the banana is great, chocolate and strawberry suck. Calories at 290, protein 42 grams, vitamins and minerals are nearly all 100% with the exception of calcium and iron.

I also use Nature's Best Perfect Zero Carb Isopure 210 calories and 50 grams of protein.

When adding them to smoothies for additional protein or as a post-workout snack I do not use the full serving. I'll only use the full serving if I'm really low on calories that day.

I get mine at a supplement store. You can also get them online.

HTH!

You can get Muscle Milk Light anywhere. GNC, online, amazon, ebay... Definitely worth a shot!
I make a shake of Muscle Milk Light, blueberries, strawberries, and V8 fusion light every morning. Throw it in a nalgene bottle and into the refrigerator at work. Pull it out around lunch time, shake it up, drink, and I'm full for hours.

My favorite tasting protein hands down is Syntrax Nectar. I've told a couple of people on the site about it and they absolutely love it, it truly doesn't taste like protein at all. It does run a little more expensive then most proteins though, it's about 25-30 dollars a tub. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/syn/nectar.html
There's a link if you want to take a look, they have the fruit flavors and then chocolate, vanilla, and cappucino as well. I have to admit, the coffee flavor is actually really, really, good...you don't even know you're drinking protein. BSN syntha-6 tastes really good as well, but it runs really high in sugar, cholesterol, and calories...so I stay away from it.

Ok griffo...you've totally got me sold on the nectar protein. I think I"m gonna order the cappuccino flavor. It's actually super low-cal, which is awesome!!! I'll let you all know how it goes.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

Carnation Instant Breakfast-- No sugar added:
Per 1/4c. serving (which you are supposed to add to skim milk):
60 calories
0.5 g fat
4 g fiber
5 g protein
And assorted vitamins and minerals.

Also, the Special K Protein Water sachets: Each one has:
30 calories
0 fat
5 g fiber
5 g protein

And they are filling and easily found (both) at your grocery store or even drugstore and are pretty tasty and filling for what they are and (relatively speaking) "cheap."

My boyfriend bought GNC's Whey Protein powder -- 130 cals and 20g protein and says it doesn't taste bad at all. I get mine from my doctor -- and the labels are actually very similar. EAS Myoplex is incredibly similar too. But, believe it or not, the Myoplex LITE ones have more calories?! I have no idea what that's about... but whatever. Or maybe I'm reading the labels incorrectly... c'est la vie.

They have Myoplex at Target for super cheap, compared to GNC. GNC's whey protein was about $15 for a medium-sized bag.

Personally, I stick to the chocolate flavors -- all the other ones taste SO INCREDIBLY artificial and gross.

Just wanted to post an update! I got the Nectar protein powder in the mail yesterday. I had ordered the Cappuccino flavor.

It. Was. Delicious! I'm not even kidding. I just mixed it with water, no milk whatsoever, and it tasted so good. I bet it's even better mixed with milk, or blended with ice.

So for anyone looking for a good tasting protein powder, I HIGHLY recommend this one. They've got other flavors, too. A little expensive, but in my opinion totally worth it.

My husband loves WheyFit from www.nutritionexpress.com

It's a good price too. I'm not a fan of shakes in general, but when I do drink them I always have this.
