Default Suggestions for Green Tea?

Hi everyone,

I have been drinking my 64 oz water religiously, the last 16 z of this is hot water with lemon every night. I think the water is really helping me by avoiding water retention. But, I have always heard that green tea is very good (anti-oxidants, metabolism boost, etc.) so, I was wondering if you all have any suggestions on which green tea to drink, how to prepare it or where to get it? Which one do you drink? I am complete newbie to the green tea area

One good habit at a time!!

Thanks in advance,

Ana

I like any kind of tea after I add splenda, but have particularly fallen in love with green teas with citrus and also green tea chai - yummy!

I do like the unsweetened green ice tea from starbucks. I will put a green tea bag in with the Hot Lemon water for the extra anti oxidents and let it brew for just a minute or two.

I have a great recipe for Green Tea that is amazing. I make it in a hal gallon as I am on my own, and a gallon is too much at one time.

4 Green Tea bags
1 Black Tea bag Flavored ( berries, peach, mint, apple, all are great!)

Bring 4 cups water to boil, add 5 tea bags. Steep for 20 mins. After 20 mins, add 1/2 cup sugar (or your sweetener of choice) and 1/6 cup (1/2 of 1/3 cup measurer) lemon juice.

After you stir and melt sugar/sweetener, add 4 cups cold water. Refrigerate or drink then!

I LOVE THIS! I think even with the sugar, I've been putting less than 1/2 cup of sugar in, it's still LAWL friendly!

Wow, so many replies

Thank you so much for all the suggestions, i am sure I will use all of them at some time. Starbucks options are good to know because now when I pass it, I am just going cant do this!!

I think I will make the full gallon like you JerseyMadchen and will add splenda in place of real sugar.

Thank you so much all of you

I am making it right now with Pomegranate tea bags. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

If you have a tea store where you live, I would suggest you go there. The BEST green tea there is is real green tea leaves from China. It is actually really tasty - and they have all kinds of flavors of them...mint etc.

It is a *little* bit more than tea bags, but worth it for the taste.

PS: I am an unofficial tea junkie/snob lol.

Mrs. Beach...that sounds amazingly yummy!

I was also going to say that Rooibus is the most recent tea that has come into the limelight. It *apparently* is even better for you than green tea and tastes really good as well. Google it - lots of information out there.
