Just curious how many people have cereal for breakfast and who likes which ones. Also, if there is anyone who has found this is a big no-no for them? I know everyone is different and I will have to see for myself but looking to see other peoples experiences!

i know from BEFORE SBD that cold cereal IN APPROPRIATE amounts leaves me hungry. I have oatmeal every morning... do it in the microwave and take it to work....

I can do oats cold plain with skim milk, but I cannot eat them hot- I think maybe its the texture- makes me cringe thinking of it! LOL...

Most cold breakfast cereals do not appeal to me.

I cook regular oats for 5 minutes instead of 15, because I like them chewy instead of mushy. I usually eat oats with yogurt, cinnamon and walnuts.

Another method is to soak oats in water overnight in the fridge and then eat them in the morning. No cooking, and no mush.

I have old-fashioned oatmeal or steelcut oatmeal almost every morning. But I don't care for it creamy. After cooking it, I let it sit on the burner for a while until all the liquid is absorbed and the oatmeal is dry. Then I add in fruit, nuts and cinnamon, with a sprinkle of flaxmeal.

When I first got to phase 2 back in 2004, I experimented with different cold cereals. I found that they didn't fill me up. I switched to old fashioned oatmeal (5 minutes in the microwave) with Splenda, cinnamon, and some fruit and that has worked well. I usually do a banana with mine but blueberries would probably be a better choice for early in phase 2.

In winter I eat oatmeal with flax and Salba every morning. I usually add dried SF cranberries or other dried fruit. In summer, it's Fibre One, berries and yogurt.

Shredded wheat is just fine on Phase II.

I too am an oatmeal fan, I like mine with some PB, SF syrup and Cinnamon. I think the PB helps to keep me full longer. Cold cereals just don't do it for me, I am hungry waaaay to early.

I'm with you. All cereal leaves me hungry within an hour or so -- even oatmeal.

I love oatmeal (which I make with milk, so the protein helps me feel more full), but find that it's too hot in the summer. :p

I eat cold cereal once a week or so for breakfast. I stick with the following, which give me enough fiber and protein that I'm full (be aware that not all of these are official SBD-safe ones, but I've experimented with them and found that they are low enough in sugar to keep me safe from cravings...they might be too much for you, though...so experiment):

Nature's Path Heritage Organic Multigrain Cereal (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&productId=356170&catalogId=10002&krypto=QJrbAudPd0vzXUGByeatog%3D%3D&ddkey=http:ProductListView)
Erewhon Raisin Bran (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=407352)
Fiber One Bran Cereal (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=387986)
Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice Cereal (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=397431) (I eat this with bananas...they taste like Rice Crispies!)
Food For Life Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Whole Grain Cereal (https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&catalogId=10002&productId=365717) (I love all the flavors, and especially like them in yogurt, which is good in the warm weather, but I know some people heat this like oatmeal...)

Plain shredded wheat (check the ingredients) is also good, but my bunnies eat it, so I would have to fight them if I wanted some too. ;)

I had bought the plain shredded wheat and plan to try that starting next week. I did well adding the ww tortillas so hopefully I will do well with the cereal too... I just can't stomach cooked oatmeal... raw I can do- and may try, but first I will try shredded wheat.

Uncle Sam Cereal is another good choice - whole wheat and flax seeds.

However, I too get hungry if I eat cereal for breakfast. Eating it with yogurt helps. Oatmeal works for me but not cold cereal.
