I hope everyone is getting back to normal after this weekend. I'm sure glad the hurricane wasn't as bad as originally predicted, but it must have still been pretty awful. My prayers are still with you all, Cat, Mandyleigh, and Zeff. I hope you are all making out OK. :grouphug:
We got back from Maine late yesterday, after driving for what seems like forever. We decided to stay overnight in Boston, so that helped break up the long ride. Caitlyn is all settled in to her dorm and is very excited and eager to start her new life as a college freshman. She practically pushed us out of her room! ;)
I could use at least one more day off now to get caught up on things around here. Jake kept the house clean, but we need groceries and I have a mountain of laundry that I want to try and get done before I head on over to Cindy's.

Good morning Cottage :coffee2: It's so much easier to have them pushing you out then to leave while they are in tears. Glad it went well for everyone.
Belle - Any word on whether Hannah will be a problem for you?
It's a quiet day here. Back to work and no planned excitement. I'm really hoping for a dull, quick day.
Have a good day Chicks

Cottage, glad everything went well for Caitlyn! Trust me, the pressure is more on the parents during this transition!
Cat, Mandy and Zef., Keep safe!
Me... All day yesterday had fewer pains, but I'm afraid to go for a walk because SAturday I thought was ok but the walk shout out severe pains for the next three days.
I too hope to take advantage of one more day off. I want to rearrange my bedroom (hhhmmm. not likely to happen given the pains). But Joe asked for a ride to an interview so I might tap into him for help with this feat!
Off to make coffee and read!
hugs all.

Simulposting! Good morning LoriAnn. Glad to hear things are a little better. Taking it slow sounds really smart to me. Hope today is even better.

Sounds like you are getting your week off to a flying start, Cottage. So glad your DD delivery trip went well. I Googled your trip and it sure is a long ride!
We're all relieved that Gustav lost some of his clout before hitting the Gulf States. I hope Cat, Zeff and Mandy weren't too badly affected and get a chance to check in.
We are about to have the hottest day of the summer today. I sure hope the AC remembers how to run. The lads are coming to get my woodstove and chimney cleaned and inspected before winter - seems ironic that today's the day.
Before it gets too hot, I'm going to pick some more tomatoes. What a crop this year! My garden thrives on neglect, it seems. I see splashes of red through the weed cover which just amazes me. Maybe I've discovered a new gardening method. I've made one batch of SF salsa and hope to get another done later this week. Every day I do another batch of tomatoes in the dehydrator and can't believe how sweet and yummy they taste.
Time for another coffee and the last peach with my cereal. This is a short and busy week so I need to focus. My "today" list is too long already!

Loriann, take care of yourself today. Grab Joe for the bedroom re-arrangement.
Cyndi, a dull and quick day sounds good. I hope it pans out for you.

Cyndi, I just read about your terrifying experience over the weekend! Are you alright? Take good care of yourself!
Loriann, I hope you get some tests done to find out what's causing your stomach pains. That's a long time to suffer from them without knowing what's going on.

Good Morning Gals,
glad that Gustav sparred LA the brunt of the storm
back at work for me
cottage so glad to hear that it went well. I have a friend who just dropped off her child and it was a long week long drawn out affair complete with chest banging many many tears and way too much emotional attachment for my taste...
Ruth it's weird that it's going to be so hot here today too.
Lori you take it easy
Hi everyone I missed ....
Me: standard day after doing so much laundry that this morning I was still putting stuff in the dryer...
may go back to the gym today... it's been too long.
see you all later...

Morning, all,
Dashing off to help hubby with some chores, no time to chat.
The approaching Hurricane Hannah shouldn't impact us too much, except for rain storms.
Today will be more of the same, reading, writing, running errands.
Have a great day!

Cyndi (hugs) hun... it's amazing sometimes about "auto pilot" episodes. I had a similar experience a few years back. I was driving home from work, thinking "my turn is just over this hill" I remember thinking that because I was taking a different route than normal. I was driving behind a semi. I did not fall asleep, but more like hypnotized... for I don't recall anything after that until I "came too" in two towns over! Instead of turning right at that corner, I "blacked out" or whatever, followed the semi, and woke up in another town. I didn't even know what town I was in, not sure how I got there. That's scary!
MInd you, I've fallen asleep at the wheel, this wasn't one of those episodes! I swear it was even more scary! Cause when I doze off I pull over and sleep (usually eyes get heavy and I know it's going to happen!). This was a hypnotic episode! or something like it.

Good morning chicks!
My DS first day of kindergarten is today! He was SOOO funny last night. Went to bed early. "I don't have time to watch tv" and "I don't have time to read a bedtime story". This morning...he was up and dressed before I got up, and was making his lunch. He was ready early!! What a hoot!! If only this could last the next 13 years, right?
This balances out that my daughter has had some stomach bug since 4 am today....
Have a great one! Glad Gustav wasn't bad!

Good Morning Chicks.... can you hear it?????? it is silence. They have all gone to school and I have no wee ones today. It is wonderful. I am going to enjoy my day of freedom. It will be the only one I have this school year. I was a little sad this morning as my oldest dd went to her last first day of school. I can remeber her first day. :(
Hope everyone has a great day. I am going to go read and catch up on everything and then I am going to print off some recipies and then make up my meals for the week. Have great day chicks.

Good morning everyone!!! We are back from southern IL and got caught up on our sleep last night. Oy. So nice to be back in our own beds! And.... I'm still on vacation!!!!! :D
And miraculously, even with all the southern home cooking, I managed to get past the plateau I've been stuck at for months, almost a year. Not the exact same weight, but I'd lose a couple, then gain it right back, lose it, gain it. I've maintained 120 for a few days now. Trying to get my portion control thing down. Apparently it's working.
After being around all the home cooking, plus the unusually low temps around here for this time of year (we're actually going to have fall this year?) I'm sooo in the mood to cook! I went through all my cook books last night and found things that both the boys and I can eat (some have meat but I can have sides and salad and be alright on those nights.)
Well, I'm going to snoop around online and try to find more meals I can make. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning ladies! Happy Monday!
Cottage - Glad to hear that all went well dropping off Caitlyn. Sounds like she's really excited to start college. I hope it lasts!
Cyndi - Hope your day is as dull as you are hoping for! My question is: When it's slow at my job, the day seems to drag....wouldn't you rather have a busy day that goes by quickly than a dull day that seems slower??? Just a thought ;)
Ruth - Oh to grow tomatoes. I might actually try to conquer that next year. I've been told that tomatoes grow fine in containers. We'll see how well the herbs do, and maybe try them when the season kicks up next year.
Nessa - Glad to hear that things are better this morning than last morning. Have a good, quiet day. I hope you're able to make it to the gym!
Belle - Glad to hear that you're out of harm's way for Hanna. Enjoy your chores with the dh!
Loriann - Glad that you're feeling better. Just don't push it, and hopefully you'll be back to 100% in no time!
Twynnb - Too funny! I hope the trend continues and that he really enjoys school. Be sure to tell his teacher....I'm sure they'll get a kick out of the story.
L/C - Ah....the joys of quiet. I get that everyday after the students have left. It's a great way to actually be able to concentrate on what I need to do for the next day. Have fun planning your menu!
Me - It felt really good to wake up and exercise this morning. I'm actually happy to be back in the routine of things. As much as I love vacation (and I really do...), I kind of really look forward to normalcy and structure. Maybe I'm a little nuts, but I think I really need structure to be successful. Today we go back for staff orientation this week. I'm actually presenting today about the changes we're making in our vocational program and how vocational education can be implemented in every classroom. I'm hoping that everyone is receptive. Got my lunch and breakfast ready and I'm set to start back to work.
Have a great Tuesday, ladies!!!
ENJOY!!!!

I'm tired after 7 hours at the hospital yesterday. And I drank too much caffeine with dinner last night which made it hard to sleep. Hopefully I'll catch up tonight.
I'm working from home this week so that there will be time to take Brian to see his dad. In critical care, they had visiting hours until 10 but in the regular room it is only until 8. I'm planning to fix us an early dinner before we go up there so we don't end up eating out like yesterday.
Busy busy day at work and I need to work on Wood Badge stuff when I can too.

Good afternoon, everyone! I tried to get on here before work, but the time just ran away from me this morning. At least I got a workout in!!
Cottage: I still remember when my parents dropped me off for my first day of college. It was a fun day, but I did want them to leave so that I could start my life away from home. Caitlyn's going to have a wonderful time! I hope you got to tackle that laundry before rushing off to Cindy's.
Cyndi: I read about your episode while on your bike ride this weekend. How scary! When are they planning on doing further testing? Hope you have a great afternoon!
Loriann: I used to rearrange our rooms constantly. DH HATES it! We finally painted a "focal" wall in the bedroom so that I "couldn't" rearrange anymore. I hope the information that was shredded by DS wasn't too important!
Ruth: MMMMM, SF Salsa, maybe I need to make some! I wish gardening-by-neglect would work for us. Our garden did horribly this year. Oh well. DH is replanting spinach and lettuce today and the pumpkin patch seems okay. I hope all the cleaning and inspecting goes (or is it went?) smoothly!
Nessa: I know how you feel. I've been away from my workout dvds for five days and I feel like I'm missing an old friend! Get back to the gym! It misses you, too!
Belle: Glad Hannah isn't looking to affect you much! Have a great day!
TwynnB: Sorry about DD, I hope she gets better soon. Your story about DS was too funny! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it lasts the next 13 years...we can wish, can't we?!
LC: Congrats to DD on her first day of her Senior year. I bet it will be a lot of fun for both of you. Enjoy your day of silence; I know you don't get a lot of those!
Stephanie: Great pics!! I'm glad you had a great time!
Lisa: Congrats on breaking your plateau! Maybe Southern cooking is good for something after all? I know what you mean about the fall and cooking. I've been looking nonstop for new recipes to try out. Enjoy the cookbook reading!
hmac: I agree 100% with you; the more consistent my life-routine is, the more consistent my lifestyle choices are. Congrats on getting right back into your routine!
GonnaBe: I'll be looking for that P1 chat with you. I hope you have a great day!
Barb: Wow, so sorry that this thing with Robert is taking such a toll on you and Brian. I know Brian appreciates getting to spend time with his dad, though. I hope he gets up and out soon.
Me: Well, back from the Gulf Coast of Texas and I can't say that there is anywhere in the world that feels more like home for me. DH let me shop, shop, shop and we ate, ate, ate. The scale was up a little this morning, but I'm assuming that it will be water-weight. I'll change the ticker on Friday if I'm still up. I started P1 today and I plan on doing the full two weeks this time. I've been hovering around 201 for a while now and feel like I need a kick-start, especially after this weekend.
Other than that, life is good. DH and I are just preparing for the fall rush - so much going on this year. It will be interesting to see how it all goes. We'll both be out of town for a week at a time at least once a month until January, so we'll be missing each other a lot! That'll make our holidays very nice and very meaningful this year.
Well, off to get some more work done. I hope everyone to come has a great day!
My thoughts are with Mandy, Zeffryn and Cat! Hope to hear from the three of you soon!!

Hopefully everyone is unscathed from the hurricane. What happened?
My BF told me last night that our local weatherman Skip Waters said that there are two hurricanes that are going to hit us in eastern NC. One is Hanna, I think, and I don't remember the other name. BF couldn't be more delighted, and there is absolutely no sarcasm in that. He keeps complaining that NC is in a drought and that we need all the rain we could get. (As I recall, it rained twice last week!)
I'm not particularly worried, we always have hurricane warnings and tornado warnings for this area and the worst that ever happens is like a big rainy thundery storm.
Today I'm planning on getting on the exercise bike like I did yesterday, and do at least 30 minutes to some loud music, followed by another 30 minute session later on. That bike is a killer, yesterday I had to stop after 30 minutes and take a half hour break, before I did the other 30 minutes. It was killing my legs. Anyway, I had gained 4lbs just from binging alone, bringing me back to 195, and I was hoping some of it was just water weight. This morning, weighed myself, and I went down 2 lbs so I'm 193 again. I wish I was 191 like I had been, pre-binge, but I've only got myself to blame. Gonna burn it off with the bike! Hope my legs don't get manly.
Then after that, maybe I'll do some cleaning. Why does it seem even after I clean, the next day the house is always a mess? It's so impossible. Anyway, that's my plan for the day, as soon as I can drag myself away from this computer and this incredibly addictive website!

Hello chickies, tired to post this morning but we were too busy, have moment still at lunch so here goes:
Cottage: Glad to hear that Caitlyn's is excited, much easier to leave that way.
Cyndi: Glad to hear that you are doing well after the episode on the bike.
Loriann: Good idea to take it slow and hopefully no more sharp pains.
Ruth: My DH didn't plant anything this year, but our neighbors have been gifting us with their excess tomatoes, so I am loving that.
Nessa: I was there with you this morning putting laundry into the dryer, but the pile will be right back up there with 5 people in the house. LOL
Belle: Have a great day!
TwynnB: Your story about DS reminds of DD2 first day of Kindergarten this year, she was so excited and still is.
LC: Enjoy the quiet day.
Stephanie: Sounds like you had a wonderful time
Lisa: Congrats on breaking your plateau! That is great
hmac: I am sure you are glad to be in your routine
GonnaBe and Kim : I will be in the Phase 1 chat with you. I hope you have a great day!
Barb: Glad to hear that you can wfh this week, hopefully that will help some.
As for me: I worked until 11 p.m. last night and decided today I am doing Phase 1 for two weeks, I re-read the book yesterday and it is time to get back on the bandwagon and get motivated and get it to stick. Nothing other than work going on today.
Have a nice day and hopefull we will here from the LA girls soon, my mom and dad are fine no damage at all
