Default I'm Pregnant!

Holy Lord this was unexpected! LOL!

We have been trying to get pregnant since my daughter (who is now 3) was about 6 months old, we had unexplained fertility but the doctor was not willing to go further with us because I continued to nurse my daughter which he recommended that I stop. We had a loss in April, and decided no need to try so hard because that was difficult to deal with. I needed time to adjust, get healthy, etc.
Anyhoo, fast forward to today's wonderful disvocery, can I continue with SBD on phase 2 you think?

Congrats Autumn!!!..phase 2 I think would be fine as long as you get enough calories in and make sure you are getting your dairy in. But I'm no doctor, I would def. ask yours. Congradulations!

Thanks all! I think I will stick with phase two, I mean what could be wrong with it? It's just healthy eating which would be ideal I'd think!

Autumn - we're in the same boat Congratulations!!!

I do a modified version of P2. I love the planning aspect of SBD, and continued with it after we found out we were expecting. I have my morning meal, a snack around 10, lunch, another snack around 3 and dinner....I usually end up having a snack after dinner as well.

I decided to forgo the Splenda during the pregnancy and while I was lactating, so I avoid anything with artificial sweeteners (sugar free jello, sugar free pudding, sugar free fudge pops, sugar free drink mixes, sugar free yogurt, etc.)

I try to have protein with every meal and snack and probably get more fruit than is recommended on SBD P2. I still try to get the recommended 4.5 cups of veggies as well.

Also, I've upped my dairy intake. I have a cup of yogurt with breakfast (I use organic, natural yogurts - full fat) and a cup of 1% milk with both lunch and dinner. I'm kind of a milk addict though.

Carbs are very important to developing babies and I try to make sure that each meal has at least 1 serving of whole grains - whether it be brown rice with dinner or a slice of ww toast with breakfast.

Zeffryn - I didn't know you were expecting! Thanks for the input. I was actually trying to avoid Splenda as much as possible anyway, because I prefer my kids not consume it. Thanks again!

Yep. My c-section is scheduled for Dec. 31....bring on the NYE champagne!

Let me know if you have any other questions. JessieW is also expecting....just about 2 months left for her.

Do you know how far along you are yet?

Congratulations AutumnRose!! I say go for Ph2 if you can stomach it--I definitely could NOT in the beginning. I could barely touch any meat for months. Blech. Now I am more back on plan but I still have a major sweet tooth and am indulging it...back on real phase 2 as soon as little Libbie is here!
