Hey Girls ! My daughter and I along with 2 other people have joined a Biggest Loser contest here in our hometown. It works like this.....Pick 4 people to your team, name it (our name is Positive Loss) weigh in either Fri or Sat. Each person puts up $25.00 the winning team gets 80% of the money also the biggest losing male and female will each win 10% of the money meaning all the money goes back to the winners. This contest last 12 weeks. We are going into the 5th week. I am the biggest losing female at this time, I have had this position for the past 2 weeks. We have 30 teams with 4 members making 120 people in this , we have 85 women and 35 men. This contest has really got me moving. I always keep in mind that I don't want to let my team down because we all are in this together . Just wanted to share this with you guys. Maybe you can start this contest in your hometown. It has really been lots of fun!!!:dancer:

Congratulations! You're doing a great job with yours!

I'll second that a biggest loser contest is a great way to stay on top of things.

I'm also in one, although they don't let us know if we're weekly biggest losers or not... the suspense rides until the end of 12 weeks. I hope I win of course! Our team is currently in second place, which I don't think is bad, as only two members out of four have lost anything.

Hope you win Dumplin!

I think it's really neat how a tv show has created such a phenomenon. And it's so positive!
I love this idea!
Congrats Dumplin on your loss so far, and the lead :)

How are the weighins done? Is it the honour system? Just wondering, cause it sounds like a great idea!

Weigh ins are counted by percentages just as they are on the T.V. show . We have 2 locations set up , one being at a church the other at a gym. Each person is given a number at our kickoff. You can weigh in either on Friday or Saturday. On August 30 we will be in our 6th week (at the half way mark this contest is for 12 weeks) You weigh in with your number that was assigned to you , this is just easier for the weight recorders to use. The Fridays and Saturday weigh ins just make it easier for everyone to have 2 days instead of 1.
