Default When do you....

Weigh in?

I know there have probably been 100 different posts about this.

Do you prefer morning, night, mid day?

The reason I ask is because I had weighed myself last week and hadn't planned on weighing myself this week. Out of curiosity I weighed in last night at 197.5 and then I stepped on the scale this morning after I had gotten dressed from work and it was 195.5 (three times in a row lol!).

I don't know IF it makes a difference or WHY it makes a difference, but I'm going with the lesser evils of the two!

I only weigh in once a week: Saturday mornings after my workout and before breakfast. I don't go anywhere near the scale during the week. We have a destructive relationship. My sis was staying with me for a few weeks back in 2006 and she would ask "What are you having for dinner?" and I would have to go step on the scale to make my decision. That was the year I put like 30lbs back on and I was all over the place with binging and crash diets and making myself sick all because the scale would say something I didn't want to hear. Since I kept a journal of everything I was doing, I realized how often I was making myself sick, so I threw the scale in the back of the linen closet and we only see each other once a week now.

LOL! when I have a good weight in, I also step on the scale like 5 times just to make sure it's not some trick my eyes are playing on me.

I weigh in first thing in the morning, post-pee and without any clothes. That way there is as little fluctuation as possible. Then you also weigh as little as possible which can be really motivating. Congrats on your lost!

I also do it first thing in the morning. If you do it at night or sometime during the day, you're going to be holding excess water weight from the food and beverages you've already consumed.

First thing in the morning without clothes, or if I'm clothed I take 1-2 lb off. There is no point weighing at night for reasons Tater said - especially if you weigh in the morning too, it can be pretty disheartening.

Once a week in the morning I do weigh in and measurements. Sometimes if I'm feeling low I skip the weighing in altogether. But that's also because I've had issues with getting bad news on the scale in the past. Also I weigh in after a work out and after going to the washroom but before eating or drinking usually...

well, like I said, I wasn't even planning on weighing in til next Monday. I was getting back on the treadmill and I guess I wanted a little "motivation." Obviously, I was a little surprised, so I wanted to see the difference between last night and this morning....

Back to once a week, in the morning, post pee, before breakfast it is!

I way every morning in my pjs after I go to the restroom.

Although this week, I haven't weighed since Monday and it's driving me nuts! I'm moving and my roommate took the scale. I think I'm going to buy one today, I can't stand it! I like to know daily how I'm doing even if the scale lies. lol

Every morning, post pee (I don't eat breakfast), totally neked. Then everymorning when I get to work, in my scrubs (the scale at work has me lighter even fully clothed...we are best friends, me and that scale). Its obsessive, I know...but it keeps me motivated and if I didn't weight I'm deathly afraid that I'd gain some horrible amount and not know it till it was too late.

Step on the scale first thing every morning, when you weigh the least. Expect small day-to-day fluctuations because of bloating or dehydration, but if your weight creeps up by 2% (that's just 3 pounds if you weigh 150), it's time to pass up the bread..

First thing in the morning after I pee everyday. If I don't do it every day I lose the motivation. I at least gotta look at the scale and see that I've atleast made some kind of progress.
