Whatever you desire to do, it's important to start somewhere, and the best
somewhere is exactly where you are. If you feel overwhelmed by the task,
release that feeling and just get started. When you feel outnumbered or
overpowered, choose to let go of that feeling and simply get started. If you
think you're unworthy or unable, leave that thinking behind and set about to
start where you are. Then work to move yourself steadily toward where you
intend to go.
Some days you'll make more progress, and some days you'll make less that
you'd like. Let the victories and the disappointments all serve to push you
continually forward.
Circumstances will never be perfect -- just get started anyway. Things will
never work out exactly as you anticipated -- just keep going anyway. What
matters is that you start, and then that you persist. The twists and turns
and bumps along the way can all end up working in your favor. Start
somewhere, right where you are, and work your way toward whatever you can
dare to dream.

Hope everyone had a nice Easter - Its been days since I posted and with all the messages I read through it would be just too hard to catch up - sorry I promise to try and stay a little more ontop of things.
We had a huge storm roll through yesterday - quite the lightning show and my whole family was having withdrawals from the computer being off. My daughter and I passed the evening watching Pearl Harbor (again) and I still cried all the way through it.
The kids just started spring break and as a surprise in their Easter baskets I got them season passes to Busch Gardens and Water Country USA (they are only 20 minutes from us). I figure it will help pass the time this summer since DH (dad) will still be out to sea. BG opens this week so I'm sure we'll hit it once or twice.
I am so proud that so many of you didn't cheat yesterday. I had no problem staying away from the candy but I took the boys to see Ice Age and got a small popcorn :o That is what I miss the most. The movie was very cute and we laughed a lot - if you have kids go see it.
Great news - my DS got selected to go to our city's technology magnet school:D :D :D :D :D He was so excited when we got the acceptance letter - we were in the driveway when I opened it and he started jumping up and down and shouting yahoo - I got teary-eyed. He will start in the fall.
Talk to everyone later

Hello!
My first morning to sleep late now that I'm off of school and I'm up at 5:00!!! I hate when that happens!!
POOCH: Congrats to your son! I know that y'all are very happy about that!! I've never been to BG but I've heard it's lots of fun! Enjoy your week!
BETH: Good luck with everything - the job hunt and all. You know they say things work in threes - was that the third or do you still have one to go?!? I hope that was the 3rd!!
ROSALIE: Great job with getting the new thread done! You are a computer genius!! :)
Well, I go to the dentist this morning and to the grocery store! I have one of my nieces coming today to spend a few days with me so I've got to get some food for her skinny butt to eat!! I'll have her until Thursday and then her sister on Thursday and Friday. I wish they could have both come together but the other one has track practice all week - track meet Friday night - and it happens to be here in my town! So, I'll exchange kids Thursday that way I get to spend some quality time with both! I just love those girls! OK - see y'all later today!

Well... it sure was nice not to have to get my kids up at 5am to leave the house and get to daycare at 6am..LOL!! We all woke up at 6:15 and have 45 minutes to get the oldest ready for school... heck I can even go in sweats if I want...LOL!
I'm putting in an application for another dispatch this week (Last one was for the county, this one is for the city) just to cover my bases... Still haven't heard anything about the first one.
Stayed away from everything but the cheesecake I made (Deb's version!) this weekend! I was a good girl! I now have plenty of egg-salad, and boiled egg for tuna salad, and deviled egg... Hmmm, I might need to borrow BOB's nose plugs :x Went to my dad's for Easter... I found $45 worth of eggs, DH found $15..LOL. We left with enough $$ to go to dinner on tonight! Dad gave me my birthday present... it was a $100 gift card for TJMaxx (don't know if all of you have one or not... they sell name brand stuff pretty cheap). It was so AWESOME to have him realize I didn't need a Lane Bryant one!!!!!!! I've been getting ones from Lane Bryant for years... and he didn't get me one cause he didn't figure I could wear that anymore! It was wonderful!!!
FRUIT - Lousy Haircut Sunday, Lousier Birthday Monday, Lost Job Thursday... that's 3!!! I'm due for a serious change in luck! Maybe it will pan out in the form of a NEW job this week :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Hi everyone, I'm back from 4 days in Florida where I metour fearless leader Deb, and then 3 days at a lacrosse tournament at University of Maryland. I haven't read last week's board at all, so I hope you all had great weeks, and good SB Easters, or found whole wheat matzoh (Viv, are you still out there?)!
First, I'll give you a brief synopsis of my day with Deb. So many of you have already met her that you know how great she is, and that you feel like you're just picking up with a friend you haven't seen in ages. Actually, I think I found my long lost cousin. So what did we do, you ask? We ate and shopped our way through Broward County! First we exchanged food (ancient Jewish ritual), I got coffee and a walker t-shirt, and she got a bag of goodies from Trader Joes. Then we headed out and hit the undies outlet where I got a few much needed smaller bras and undies, and Deb spread the SB gospel. Then we went to (surprise) Ole Ole where every waiter knows her and I ate way too much of a delicious salad. But we were good and sent the corn chips back! Then we went to a BIG HF store, where they know her too. Then we hit Carbolite hard (mint carob chip- yum!), by which time my shorts could barely zip. Then we retrieved my ds from my brother's house and wandered through Saw Grass Outlet Mall, quite an experience. Deb had to leave us from there to get to a Passover dinner, so she missed playing video games for an hour and a half in Gameworks (licky Deb). Anyway, I had a great time with her, and hope next time I'm in Fla it will be a longer trip and I can meet the rest of you Fla ladies!
The only downside was I discovered Carbolite does NOT agree with me, so I didn't have to worry that my day of eating would have a lasting effect:D .
Then back from Florida for 12 hours, and I left for U of MD, and met dd and her team. The lost to UNC in a heartbreaker game Friday night, but beat Maryland on Sunday in a stunning upset. At least Maryland was stunned! They hadn't been beaten by an ou of conference team in 79 straight games. Our girls were ecstatic, and hope to move up significantly in the national rankings. We celebrated in style with a huge Easter tailgate party where I cheated :( with lemon bars that kept leaping into my mouth and way too much ham. I refuse to weigh until Wednesday!!!
Finally home again, I'm starting day 1 of my second BFL challenge today, and can't wait to get back to the gym, eat clean, drop some more fat, maybe (please, please) see some abs by the end of the next 12 weeks.
Whew- almost time to head for the schoolbus.
Beth- I take it you did not have a good week! Sorry to hear you lost your job, bad birthday, bad hair. But congrats on your family noticing you didn't need to shop at Lane Bryant. I love TJMax! Most everything I own comes from there, Marshalls (same thing) or Value City. Hope this week is better for you.:)
Well, mine is back to school today! so adios for now,
mel

I hope everyone had a happy Easter--or a joyous Passover!
Toni or BOB if either of you looks at my fitday entry for yesterday you will find that I was a very bad girl. Over 2400 calories consumed--and yes that includes the dreaded Easter candy. I also went out to a chinese buffet--usually I can manage that--but I didn't yesterday.
So today is a brand new day right? I did notice that I *still* didn't eat more calories than my body is allegedly burning--but the fat calories were through the roof--and the carbs were bad ones!
No change in the scale from yesterday so if I get right back OP today, maybe the damage will be minimal. To all of you who were able to sucessfully resist the Easter candy--I'm so proud of you--you are all my heros!
This morning I've had a soft boiled egg, one slice of SGWW toast with light margerine. I may make my black bean soup for lunch and then I'm going out for catfish tonight.
I hope everyone is gearing up for a good week. Those of you who managed to stay OP over the holidays--your motivation is the momentum of success--nothing tastes better!
For those of us who slipped--today is a brand new day. Promise to stay OP for today. Today is all we need to worry about!
Have a good week everyone!

Good morning and Happy April 1st. what a great day to start fresh oMerlis-Sounds like you had a great day in florida. oh what I wouldn't give for some of that nice warm sunshine. And then to shop, shop, shop! So glad you and Deb had a great time.
Beth2374-Sounds like you had such a nice Easter. And what a great egg hunt.. That should be a real boost getting a gift certificate from T.J.Maxx. I sure like them but they're a three and a half hour from me so only get to go once in awhile. Wow no more Lane Bryant. Wonder what that will feel like.. Hope this week goes better for you and you have luck finding a job...
Fruit- Yikes the denist. Now that strikes terror in my poor heart!!! And I have to go next Tues. Uck... You better go grocery shopping first! Lucky you getting to have your neices....Hope you have a great time with them.
Pooch-I loved that movie Pearl Harbor. I cried there. Not only was it a good love story but my Father was a Pearl Harbor survivor and my thoughts were on him as I watched it. Thinking how young he was and the fear he must have gone through... Congradulations on your son.
Guess today its getting back to normal after the GK left. All the sheets and laundry and cleaning to do... I sure am missing those little guys. What a treat to have them here for the week. Back to the treadmill and the regular stuff. We're having a beautiful spring day so guess I'll get out of the house a bit to.... You all have a great SB day.... Toni
213/200/130r add a little motivation to.... You did a great job Rosalie!

I have to admit I cheated a bit this weekend, but my staple meals were generally SB compatible. Of course my parents had some truffles lying around and I had to have just one. It was worth it, and my calorie intake was still well below 2000.
Just when I thought I was back on track my co-worker brought in some cake. No one ate it b/c everyone is claiming to be on a diet. I felt so bad that I had the tiniest piece. Oh well, if it made her feel good then it was worth it.
Rosalie-good job with everything!
Fillise-Hang in there, holidays are the worst, especially ones that involve candy!
Beth-Looks like things are picking up on your end! Hope your luck continues to get better. And by the way, can i come over next easter? I could use a gift certificate for TJ MAXX!
Pooch-lucky kids, nothing like a season pass! Congrats to your son...I know how much weight that lifts off of your and his shoulders. As for the popcorn, I can't agree with you more. I saw Panic Room and brought some pretzels thinking that would satisfy my popcorn craving...I ended up eating to miniature crunch bars. Oh well.
Everyone...have a great week. It's a fresh start and a brand new day!

Good Morning Everyone
I hope you all had a good Easter/Passover weekend. I am afraid I blew it yesterday and got into the Easter candies and cookies. But surprise I was down a couple of pounds this morning from what I was a couple of days ago. Maybe it hasn't caught up with me yet. We'll find out in a couple of days on WIW. With my luck it will be up again. :( To-day has started off o.k. I just had a late breakfast of oatbran cereal with raspberries and a slice of the cheesecake. Still have a big chunk left and I can't see it go to waste . I'm planning on having SOL's pot roast for dinner tonite with brussels sprouts and brown rice.
Gracious - WTG on resisting that candy.
Pooch - Congratrulations to your ds for getting accepted to the magnet school. You must be a very proud mommy.
Fruitloupe - Isn't that typical to wake up early when you have a chance to sleep in. Hope you have a good visit with your nieces.
Beth - I am glad you are able to look on the bright side after the catastrophic week you have had. I am sure you will enjoy spending more time with the kids while you are job hunting. Hope you get some responses from your job applications soon.
Meliris - Glad to hear you had such a great time with Deb. I agree with you wholeheartedly that meeting her was like meeting an old friend. Same goes for the other Florida ladies that I met. A great bunch of people. Congrats to your dd's team for winning the Sunday game. I'm sure they were elated. Good luck with your second BFL challenge.
Fillise - I agree with your sentiments - to-day is a brand new day. Whatever we did this past weekend is behind us and we have to be prepared to start anew, starting from NOW.
Rhroo - Where are you? We haven't heard from you lately. If you are lurking out there why don't you drop in and let us know how you are doing.
Have a good week everyone.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Happy Monday to All! Hope everyone had a great holiday. It was a nice day. Had the family (20) at my house. Spent Sat cooking all day. Made Deb's cheesecake for myself and adapted an old jello salad to sb, used the oat bran pretzels for crust and agave in the cheese. It was pretty good. I will try to post recipe. Was worn out when everyone left and didn't get to work out or walk. I have pulled something in my back. I am sitting on a heating pad hoping it will help. Don't want to miss any days of working out or walking.
Rosalie- Thanks for starting new thread. Loved your MM message. It is very true. Sometimes you just have to start somewhere and go with it. Great job!
Monet,My sister has a big tear-shaped rose garden in her front yard. Everyone in our family has given her a rosebush to represent themselves. It was very pretty. Time has passed and it has gone to weeds. But at one time it was really pretty and neat. I love roses and have 4-5 bushes beside my garage. Your, right, they are a lot of work, but worth it when they bloom.
Pooch, Congrats on your son getting into the magnet school. You must be very proud.
Fruit, have fun with your nieces this week. I have 6 great nieces and nephews and I really love to spend time with them. I guess it fun because you know they are going home sometime.
Beth, WTG on the $$ in the egg hunt. That always helps. We have a TJ Max and Marshalls in Lou too. They have some neat home stuff. I know what you mean about shopping at Lyane Bryant. It was such a joy to finally quit shopping in the plus dept. The styles are cuter.
Mel, sounds like you had a great time with Debbie. I would love to meet any of the people on the board. I bet you and your DD were excited about the Lacrosse win. WTG. Just curious, what is BFL? I have seen it in several posts.
I am really confused and devestated about something. I have read so many people use Nature's Own bread and hamburger buns. I have looked everywhere in Lou and finally got in touch with the Flowers Bakery. They don't sell them any further south than Bowling Green. So I asked one of our superintendents here at work who goes to BG every weekend to look for me some buns. I would die for a hamburger bun. He brought me bread and buns today and I was so excited, but when I read the ingredients, they say enriched wheat flour. I was soooo disappointed. Is there another kind of buns from Natures Own that you all eat? DId I get the wrong ones? HELP
Fillise, Don't be too hard on yourself about yesterday. You're right, today is a new day. Just like Rosalies' message, you have to start somewhere, start again today and go forward.
Toni, I too would love some sunshine and warm weather, I guess Ky gets your weather. It is sunny here today. It's amazing how a little sunshine perks up your spirits. Really gets you motivated. But we are expecting rain again Wed. yuk!:dizzy: :?:
Got to get back to work. Don't let anyone trick you today!!!

Good morning all! Glad to see that everyone (so far) has had a pleasant holiday. Mine was good - the inlaws decided not to fix dinner and had sandwiches instead, so Adron and I just sat there hungry till we got home. Not too bad, I suppose - much better than cheating! I fixed a ham for dinner, and ate a Cadbury's egg :( But, I don't figure that's too bad. I got the obligatory headache to go with it and I was very content. I think I'm done withy candy until Christmas now.........
Thanks to YellowRose, Fillise, Sol, and Rosalie for the kind words about losing my job. It's great to have friends like you!!! I am working on the Mary Kay thing now - figure if it makes me feel good, then I should be sharing that!
Toni - hi right back atcha!!!
My FIL told me yesterday that he could tell that I'm losing weight! Then while I was cooking dinner, my engagement ring fell off my hand - Adron couldn't believe it! I told him that we need to get a temprary wedding set for me while I'm losing weight, since I don't want to keep resizing my rings. Much cheaper to buy a silver band for $10 every time I lose some weight than to pay $50 for sizing the real one. I used to wear a size 7, and these rings are either 9 1/2 or 10, so I have quite a way to go. I'm thinking that an 8 will fit now :D How cool is that!!!!
I also bought a coverup this morning so I can start water aerobics tomorrow morning. Water aerobics starts at 9 am Monday through Saturday, so I'm going to plan on going every morning as soon as I drop Audrey off at school. I am getting so excited!
I bought a tape measure (I had lost my other one) to find out if I was an apple or a pear, and it said I was a pear (0.8 - whatever that means). I wasn't as concerned about which shape I was once I realized that in 2 months I have lost 3" in my waist and 2" in my hips. I don't know how many inches I've lost from my fat rolls, but it's gotta be more than that! Talk about a great way to start the week !
Take care everyone - I'll see ya later!

Hi all,
Happy Monday morning.
I have been taking notes since Saturday, so, I hope what I’ve written is not out of date. The board moves sooo
quickly.
Frog: It was nice to see your post on the board. Thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes, the colonoscopy went
very well and I was pronounced fine and don’t need to return for 5 years. Even that will probably come too
quickly.
Fillise: Thanks for the input on the polydextrose. Where did you find the oatbran sticks. I haven’t been able to
find them yet in Dallas and I have looked at Whole Foods and the new Central Market. Sometimes you wonder if
people are listening about not wanting sugar around you. (Boy, am I being critical.)
Solshine: Thank you for the well wishes. Also, thank you for posting the recipes...I have already printed them off.
On the Unprocessed Bran, what does the package look like and where in the store did you find it? (Cereal aisle?)
Rosalie: That was so nice of you to look up that information for me. I had looked on the web but I did not run
across the information you provided. Thanks. It really doesn’t sound like very good stuff. I’d better learn to
control the amount of almonds instead. Good job on starting the board for April!
Monet: To keep track of answering posts, I open Microsoft Works (like Microsoft Word) along with the board and
switch back and forth to answer. I think it is similar to using Notepad like Rosalie. Then I copy and paste. That is
probably why my posts are so wordy, Ha! I have an awesome recipe for Game Hens in a Sherry Sauce if you are
interested.
Toni: Maybe I will try the protein in the afternoon instead of the almonds and see if I sneak past those almonds.
Gracious: I have not heard of guar gum. Where do you find it?
Beth: What nice support from your dad! The idea of having money hidden in the eggs gives the adults a nice
surprise along with the kids.
AdronsGirl: Rings falling off , huh? What a good reason to get some jewelry. Actually, I have several wedding
rings. It is fun to change around. You are doing such a good job with SB.
I hope everyone has a nice day.

Well, being a DINK with no family members around Easter wasn't a problem for me at all this week-end……now, a couple of weeks ago when they first came out with the Easter Candy and one of my Cube Farm Friends loaded up on those chocolate malted eggs…….. ………well, we just won't go there….
You ladies can gladly have some of the heat from here! I'd even swap it for one of those awesome thunderstorms I see passing through MS, AL, GA and SC! Yesterday we left church and it was sooooo nice outside that I decided to get my walk in before lunch. Yesterday was supposed to be my long distance day (9 miles), BUT, I drank all my water before I even finished the 3.5 mile loop and about a block before I got to 4.5 miles Meister came plodding by (his ride/jog day) and told me to turn around and head back home with him. He was even too hot and tired to jog the rest of the way home….( I probably ended up just shy of 5.5 miles for the day.) We're gonna alternate our long days now and set up a "water stand" for the other person at the 1/2-way mark. I'm not gonna quit training for that marathon just cause it's 120 degrees outside - so we'll keep trying something different till we find what works.
Someone had asked about how we keep up with the different posts….I also open Word and flip back and forth between the posts. I read a post - go to Word type a response - go back and read a post - go back to Word…..etc….on really busy days I don't have the time to do that, but when I can I do…I also have skimming disease and seem to miss things sometimes. I ALWAYS type my post in Word, though. I've lost too many due to 'user error' to risk that aggravation again.
MARIE - GREAT JOB TODAY! Thank you for stepping up to the plate to keep us all rolling along here this week! Let me know how the roast comes out! I think I'd eat that darn cheesecake for breakfast, lunch and dinner till it was all gone! The bran muffins are soo good that Meister and I managed to finish off a whole batch of those in 2 days - no dookie howser problems in our house!
POOCH What a cool present!! I LOVE Busch Gardens!! We had annual passes to Sea World last year and are buying a dog this year. Next year if we do the annual pass thingy I want to try Islands of Adventure. That's THE pass to have this year among the locals. 'Course I also want to go to the Daytona 500 and that ain't cheap! And congrats to the MOM of a Wonderfully Bright Young Man!! Congrats to the Bright Young Man!!
FRUIT I haven't forgotten about you! Hopefully you'll have a pkg in the mail this week! Hope things go well at the Dentist. Now that we get up at 4:30am - sleeping in means getting up at 6:30 or 7am….GAWD! I sound like my grandmother, but at least she's bright enough to take a nap! :D
BETH Sounds like a wonderful week-end! Glad to hear things are turning around for you. You'll have that perfect job in no time!
MEL Thanks for the great play by play of your trip to Florida and the following lacrosse excitement! Sounds like a great time - but I wouldn't expect anything less from you two! Now FROG and DEBBIE together for DAYS…..that's scary!!! Those two can really cause a ruckus - I really should be there to keep my eye on them! Wish I could be!! :s:
FILLISE I don't know if I could ever do good at a Chinese buffet! Vince found out Whole Foods carries guar gum, so that's something new for us to play with…. and I'm gonna hit MONET up for some of her Asian recipes! Maybe that'll kill the Lo Mein and other Asian cravings I get.
TONI Probably gets really quiet with the GKs gone. Good to see you're getting back on the TM. Tonight will be my heavy metal night and I'm glad they have AC in the gym or I wouldn't make it through that work out either.
QUIVONDRA I can understand wanting to keep the co-worker from feeling bad. Maybe you could give her Deb's Crustless Cheesecake recipe and tell her if she's really feeling like baking she could bake something legal for you. :D The cheesecake is really very good and FILLISE posted one adapted from Southern Living that is more traditional tasting and I LOVE making that one!
JACK Sorry, to hear about your disappointment. Nothing like getting your hopes up only to be brought down like that….I don't know the answer to your question, but someone will! I buy the Monk's SGWW bread and Vince prefers the Ezekiel Breads. We tried Protein Powder a few years ago and got used to eating hamburgers and hot dogs without buns and now we never use buns even when they're available. Weird - I know!
AR WHOO HOO!!!! WTG, Girlfriend on that wedding ring!!! I had to have my re-sized, but UP and that was the last straw for me to get serious about losing weight. I love my Meister and to not be able to wear his ring was really upsetting to me - and those comments about my cooking being good and how good marriage must be to me. Now mine is finally loose and I have to be careful when I wash my hands, but I ain't complaining!!
ROSE I got the unprocessed bran from Publix on the cereal isle it was at the end where they put all the 'supposed' health food cereals and the oatmeal and grits in my store. It was in a small box….brown, I think. The muffin recipe was on the back of my box. I already threw it away, but I assure you I will be buying more! I can tell you then if you can't find it in the meantime. If your regular grocery store doesn't have it, Whole Foods would surely have it, I would think. We added a bunch of frozen blueberries (unthawed) this week-end and OMG, I ate so much batter and then 2 muffins as soon as they came out of the oven and this morning I had the very last muffin. Meister and I scarfed on those!! Vince went to Whole Foods this morning and found out they carry guar gum.
Better quit so I have time to get onto Fitday. Have a great day everyone!!!

Hey girls!
It's so nice to be able to check the board in the middle of the day! I wish I didn't have to work!!!
SOL: I was hoping that you hadn't forgotten about me! I figured that you've been busy! Just put it in the mail when you have time my friend!
FILLISE: I too love chinese food! You know this week is gonna be rough on me because I'm off of school and I usually have lunch with my friends that don't work - you know - the ones that are married to doctors! HAHA! Well, chinese is usually done one day of the week! I just love the buffet! Oh well, I'll just have to stay away!
ADRONSGIRL: I love the wedding ring story. When I got married - I wore a 5 1/2 and I had to have them enlarged to a 7. Now - I can probably wear a 6 or 6 1/2 - so I am also looking forward to downsizing!
QUIVONDRA: Girl - I'm sure those truffles didn't hurt you one bit! I saw that pic of you that you posted and you could afford to eat a few more truffles!!!! You look great!
MEL: Thanks for the info on your visit with DEB - I would love to meet her! Glad y'all had a good time!
TONI: The dentist visit wasn't bad at all - just went for my cleaning. I don't have any problems going to the dentist - but my hubby can't stand it - he is scared to death! They would have to knock him out if he went! So - he doesn't go - he will wake up one day with no teeth!!!
JACK-K: Hope your back feels better really soon! I hate when my back hurts - every little move you make is like a stabbing pain! Take care of yourself!
OK - gotta get off the computer so that the phone line isn't busy. I'm waiting for Ford to call and let me know what's wrong with my vehicle!

Hello all. This is my "weekly" post. I try to get in at the first of the week when it is not so hard to keep up with things.
Congrats, Rosalie, for getting the board up and running this week. You computer genius, you.
Sol--I know what you mean about the heat. Right now, walking in the early morning is not too bad. But I know that you are probably already in your car driving across town to your job. Keep up the good work. I know you will do awesome at the marathon. Will you be running or walking when it comes around? Is Vince gonna enter it too?
We had company since Thursday. My DS and her dh, and then my father and his wife and her grandson. My other ds and her dh and all their kids and assorted bf's and gf's. So it was a little "Zoo-ish" around here. We had family over for dinner 2 of the last 4 nights, and we also had to entertain them during the day. They are not the self-entertained type, unfortunately. I have to say that it was very stressful, and my " paternal parental-unit" was a royal PITB.
We had a Passover Seder meal of sorts on Thursday night. My BIL is Jewish, although non-practicing. But I wanted him to have a seder if at all possible, so I fixed charoses, chopped liver, brisket with tzimmes, and Passover nut cake with fruit on top. We did a little of the Haggadah, but I think my dh and I were the only ones who knew anything about it--and we are Gentiles! The food was good, though, and I did not over do it.
We had roasted veggies, salad, and grilled fish for the other meal for our guests. So I stayed pretty good this weekend, except for yesterday. :(
After church we went to an afternoon party, and I had a small piece of cheesecake (non-Sb) and a couple of Choc. chip cookies and several other non-dietetic items. Not a good eating day for me.
But, as Fillise said, today is a new day. So here we go!
Have a great week, everyone. I hope you have a good SB success this week.

Hi again
I appreciate the compliments about to-day's MM message but I have to let you know it is Deb's message that I posted for her as she is away. I don't want to take credit for someone else's work :)
Sol - I haven't tried the bran muffins yet. I am trying to keep away from baking for now, at least until I get a few more pounds off. I haven't even made the Almond Granola since I returned home with the agave as I always eat too much. The cheesecake, yes I had some for breakfast and will probably have more for a snack this afternoon. At least it is low carb even if it is high fat. I'm o.k with that as it is the carbs that usually do me in. :) If any is left it will be part of my breakfast in the morning. You may have missed my post form a couple of days ago when I asked if you had received my e-mail. I sent it about ten days ago with a falafel recipe. Just wondering. You can send some of that heat up this way if you like. We've had a couple of fairly mild days but to-day there is 2-4 inches of snow in the forecast.
Adronsgirl - WTG on those lost inches. They are just as important, if not more so, than the pounds. Have fun with the water aerobics.
Jack-K - Sounds like you had a busy weekend, catering to 20 people. Hope your back is better soon.
Gotta go.
Marie.

Hi Gang,
Just ducking in trying to keep up.
Rosalie, I agree with you on Deb's cheesecake. I made mine in muffins this time. They were soo pretty and brown when I took them out of the oven, and then the middle just fell in. I was so disappointed, but they still tasted good. I was hoping my making them muffins I could control the portions. I'm trying for only 1 a day or less. They are good. Next time I make it I am using the oatbran pretzels for the crust.
WTG Gracious on not eating that candy. I'm with you, It's not worth it. I want to lose this weight more than I need that piece of candy. But I'm not a chocolate person anyway. Give me a bag of potato chips.
Adrons Girl, Hope your Mary Kay job works out. I know several people that make a good living selling it. That's awesome about your rings. It's a good feeling when things start getting bigger. Just be careful not to loose them.
Water aerobics sounds like fune. I really need to do that since I have arthritis and it would be better on my knees. WTG On losing the inches. Keep up the good work and you will get to goal soon.
Yellowrose, I find the pretzels in Kroger in the health food section, where they carry the sweet potatoe chips.
Solshine, Boy am I jealous that you walk 9 miles. I am dragging at the end of 3. I keep thinking I will increase it but finding time is the problem. Also, my DH walks with me usually and he walks slower than I would like. I would like to better my time before I increase my miles. WTG. You will be mready for the marathon soon. I wish we had some of that heat you have, but not `10.
I have gotten used to eating my hamburger w/o buns, but a bun would be great sometime especially if we go out to eat.
Gatorgal, How thoughful of you to fix the sedar meal for your BIL. I hope he appreciated it.
Have a great night all.

Hi everyone! :)
Just thought I would check in since it has been a while. Well, I finally hit the ol' 30 pound mark a couple days ago. Some days I feel as though I am really making progress... other days, I still feel as fat as I was 30 pounds ago even though I have lost so much! I know it's mental or whatever, but that doesn't make it any easier sometimes. Well I have dropped a couple sizes in the waist, and all of my belts are too big for me. That sure is a nice feeling. I try to break up my long term goal in units of 5 pounds. So my next goal is 35 pounds then 40, etc. I do that so I dont get overwhelmed with the "big" picture or I get discouraged. Oh, the SB way of eating is starting to become automatic now. I went to my aunt's house for Easter dinner and I had no problem avoiding the no-no foods. I still cant believe I have had NO chocolate in close to 4 months! I actually look forward to a salad now. Never imagined that would be case. In fact, for dinner tonight I am having pork tenderloin, fresh streamed green beans, half a sweet potato with butter, and a small salad with v & o dressing and a small glass of wine. :) YUM... oh I also got 5 gallons of agave nectar today! WOOOT! I soooo love that stuff hehe. Well, bye for now, and I wish everyone continued success.

I lose and I feel better inside but I look in the mirror and I could just vomit! I like the 5 pound at a time thing - much better than saying - 30 down - 85 more to go!! HAHA!
Ok - my niece should be here soon! Talk to y'all tomorrow!!

Thanks you everyone for all the congrats for my sons getting into the technology magnet program. We are all so excited. He's our brain child – one step away from the pocket protector. Analyzes everything and is the first to correct you if you aren't 100% accurate.
I ended up taking the kids to Busch Gardens today but we were only there for about 5 hours since DD had to work tonight. I realized something while there. BG does not cater to anyone who's Sbing. Ugh – french fries, pizza, cotton candy, funnel cakes, fudge, watermelon, corn dogs, stuffed baked potatoes…I am a big water drinker but had a diet pepsi in one of those collector cups. It's the first drink I've had beside water and milk for the last 2 ½ months. I got a phili steak sandwich and just ate the insides and left the roll. We are going back again tomorrow and I am filling my collectors cup with ice water and bring in my own snacks to munch on. At least all the walking was good for me.
Beth – very cool $$ egg hunt. The Easter bunny that visits our house does something unusual too. He leaves an egg with a clue in it which leads to another egg with a clue to another egg with a clue etc until they finally find their basket. Usually the kids go through 8-10 clues. It's getting fun with 2 of them being older. I had them going upstairs, then downstairs then it the backyard then back upstairs then in the front yard… torture. My kids look forward to this every year and I enjoy watching them try to figure out their clues.
Mel – you are so lucky to have gone to FL and it sounds like you really did have an incredible time. I am really looking forward to the October get together in NC.
Toni – glad your dad made it through Pearl Harbor. With my DH out to sea over yopu know where I watched it with a whole different view. They did seems so young. Some friends of our were stationed in Hawaii when it premiered and got to be on the edge of the red carpet they had for all the stars. She said it was phenomenal and that a lot of PH survivors were there for the big event.
Quivondra – I promised to take my DD to see Panic Room this week since she didn't go to Ice Age with us. Is it as scary as it looks? I love everything Jodie Foster does – she is such a great actress. I cannot go to the movies without getting some popcorn. Before SB I use to eat the microwave kind at least 3-4 times a week but have not had any since I started SBing this past Jan. I did promise myself that I would only eat popcorn at the movies and since it costs a fortune to go nowadays I knew that splurging wouldn't happen very often.
AdronsGirl – that is so great the FIL noticed the weight loss – you go girl. I sold Mary Kay several years ago – good luck – if you end up coming to NC I'll give you my list.
SolShine – I like the Busch Gardens in Tampa better than the one here and I love Seaworld. When we were stationed in Florida we hit just about every fun park in the state. We try to see and do as much as we can everywhere we live and when in Florida you have to play. I'm taking your suggestion and flip-flopping back and forth with word – you are right about posts getting long (sorry everyone)
Daramus – ditto on the 30 pound mark and all the feelings you are having. Some days I feel so good and others times I still feel like a cow. Today was a good day.
BOB – way to go on the no smoking anniversary. I quit almost 9 years ago. No the ship that came in was not DH's – his won't be back until Septemberish. I'll keep you all posted when his is due in and even let you know what I'll be wearing so you can look for me on CNN (haha).
Well I think I'm caught up again – 2 posts in one day – wow.

So . . . did anybody get fooled today??? I sure did. This new girl at our office really tricked us. She told us there was a puppy in the restroom, and we all practically trampled each other getting across the hall. She got us all the way in the bathroom and then hit us with the “gotcha”. It was a really good trick!!! I laughed a lot on that one.
Our Easter holiday was fun. DH left for St. Louis last Wed to play music with his bros. So my parents came over for a visit and to keep me company. That was fun. DB, SIL and Niece came on Friday. So my house was bursting at the seams. I was cooking and hosting like crazy. Bro only stayed the one night, so that made it easier. We went shopping on Saturday. On Sunday we went to dear, dear MIL’s house. She and SIL have a house together. (Have I told you how blessed I am with a WONDERFUL MIL and a WONDERFUL SIL??? It’s true, they are both great and have always welcomed me with open arms. ) And we had a lovely meal and such fun. It was a great day. Then DH came home in the afternoon and came directly over there since he knew that’s where I would be. So we had a very laid back day. I withstood the candy at their house and I didn’t buy one morsel of chocolate for this house. Since we’re both watching our intake, I thought why sabatoge ourselves. I’m not saying I was perfect, but I was really aware of what I was eating and keeping track for wonderful FitDay. So tonight we’re back to normal, no company and just me, Paul and Maddie spending the evening together. The good life, for sure.
BETH---I am sending you a ton of virtual hugs and wishes for a MUCH better week. So very sorry to hear that last week was the ****s. But I can’t help feeling that you may have a super WIW this week. What do you think???? I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!
MEL---So glad to hear both your trips went well. Yippee that you got to meet DEB and spend some great time with her. Ain’t she the BEST???? I would loved to spent the afternoon with you all. Let the good times roll!!!
FILLISE---Is it true what they say about confession being good for the soul??? Thanks for sharing that yesterday kind of bit you in the you-know-where. I love your attitude that today is the day to make the change and get back on track. Girl, you CAN DO IT!!! Keep focused. I know you can. I just looked at your numbers on your signature and I want to congratulate you on how far you’ve come. I’m telling you what . . . I’’m going to do the Happy Dance just for allthe weight that you’ve already lost. That is awesome. WAY TO GO!!!!!
ROSALIE---I laughed when I read what you had for breakfast. That’s so great!!! Can I come stay with you and eat that kind of breakfast. You are so right about not wasting good food. Your supper sounded great. Hope it was super for you.
JACK-K---You are TOO good to have 20 people for the holiday!!! Wow, no kidding, I’ll bet you cooked all day Saturday. Way to go on the jello salad. I am eager to get that recipe. I love jello salads, but never thought about converting them to SB lifestyle. Thanks for sharing.
ADRONSGIRL---Be careful with those rings!!! My hear was in my throat thinking about how horrible it would be to lose my diamond. I like your idea of buying more to wear during your downsizing. More jewelry is ALWAYS a good idea. Congrats on the loss that was noticed by your FIL. I hope he got an extra big portion of dessert on his plate!!!
SOL---So sorry to hear that it’s already too hot down your way. I wish I could send some of our cooler breezes your way. Youa re doing such a good job with your training. I am so proud of you!!!! BTW, I do the same way as you when reading/responding. Except I am doing my typing in Appleworks. Same difference, but no lost posts that’s for sure. My motto: type and save, type and save.
DARAMUS---Congrats on being at the 30 pound mark. Oh, I wish I was there with you. Don’t be discouraged!!! Just think . . . your loss can be represented by piling up 120 sticks of butter. No you have to admit . . . that’s fantastic!!!! Keep it up. You’ll see your goal, just keep focused.
BOB---Congrats on the one year anniversary for the very best thing you could ever do for yourself!!!! You are awesome!!! I am so happy for you. Have you gotten to the place where you hate being around cigarette smoke. I can’t STAND it. There is no way I will ever smoke again. Tried in Vegas a couple of years ago after being a NS for two years and it burned my throat to death. I knew right then and there, that was history for me. GOOD GOING!!!! Think of how much cleaner Skeeters lungs will stay too.
Okay, that’s it for me tonight. I just IMed with VIV and she said she’s back OP and feeling good about it. But she’s still as busy as always. Hope you all have great weeks. I will try and keep up this week. Still feeling like I missed tons last week. Hope not, but certain I did.
Take care and good night everybody.

Thanks for all the kind words! :) I am a little nervous as I have a doctor appointment tomorrow to get my blood checked. I have always avoided doctors in general, but one of my new years resolutions was to get caught up on my health stuff. So.... I went to the eye doctor for the first time in many years and ended up needing glasses. I went to the dentist and am still dealing with wisdom teeth issues. Now... it my GP and my bloodwork. *sigh* I have had elevated liver enzymes for a few years now, and he seems to think (without any testing at all) that I have a "fatty liver" and I'm hoping a better overall diet and weight loss will lower my counts. So i am worried about the liver stuff and also that I have been eating too much fatty foods on SB. I eat cottage cheese frequently (recently switched to low fat) and other things of that nature. I know I will be stressing until I get the results back!! My appt is at 1:30pm and I now he wants me to fast before giving blood, but I am used to having morning appts for this. I don't like the idea of going all day with no food. Do you think eating in the morning will affect my blood work in the afternoon? Anyone else here see a rise in their bad counts after starting SB? Perhaps I am worrying over nothing...
Rosalie

Daramus - Why don't you call the doctor's office in the morning and ask how long you have to fast before having blood taken. I can't imagine that they would expect you to fast all morning for a 1.30 p.m.appointment. I feel quite sure that SB will not cause a rise in your bad blood counts - it's usually the opposite - most people see an improvement in their blood tests.
Marie.

I sure missed reading the board over the weekend. We went to both sets of parents houses and there was wonderful food at both that was SB friendly. So it was very nice.
Time is short tonight so all I have time to say is how much I've enjoyed reading about everyone's Easter.

Just a quick note to Daramus: I agree with Rosalie about calling the doctor’s office to see how long you need to fast before the blood test. When I have a late appointment, I do fast all day but it is okay to have black coffee and lots of water. The water keeps the blood vessels plump. (I had to tell you that , didn’t I?) My blood levels where greatly improved after being on SB and I hope that you have the same results. Let us know. Congrats on the weight loss!

Its really late...and I need to go to bed, but I wanted to check in first. Spring break started today. I woke up early, and got up to fix my hubby's breakfast and lunch for him before the alarm even! I felt thinner..so I got on the scale. What a let down! I was the same.
The weather was beautiful today, and my older daughter made me go and walk at the park with her. It was fun. I like the treadmill better, but I do enjoy spending time with her. All the azaleas are blooming and the dogwoods are getting really nice too! I do love spring!
I worked on pulling off wall paper in the hall today. I still need to decide what color to paint the hall when I am done. The problem I have is that the hall wall, continues into the great room with no good break to change colors. Right now, the great room is white. I kind of want something more dramatic. I am wondering if one wall of dramatic blue will look funny if the other walls are all white. Any one got an opinion?
My hubby and daughter went to the store yesterday and bought a bunch of Easter candy. I did not touch it. I did have a low carb chocolate bar though. I am pleased that the sweets and sugar are not tempting to me anymore!
Bedtime for me! Sweet dreams ya'all!

Thanks for all the info. I think it's just my normal pre-doctor jitters. I will call the office in the morning just to make sure. I read once (probably on the official sb msg board) that too much processed and/or high fat food can elevate some of your counts. I have cream cheese (regular!) and triscuts as a snack at least 3-4 times a week. I have cottage cheese on almost a daily basis. This past week I had probably 6 eggs! But then sometime I go a couple weeks with no eggs at all. I eat cheese daily, too (though not in huge amounts). I suppose I should switch to low-fat dairy product and egg beaters. Also, maybe substitute some fruit instead of triscuts and cream cheese occasionally. Anyway, again, thanks for your replies. I am actually looking forward to the weigh in at the doctor's office. Muahahaha!

HiedieHo All!!!!!!
ROSALIE - You are such a genius to be able to set up the Board, thank you!!
I had a nice day today. My GD took me to Lacombe Library, (she had got the first Harry Potter story for me and I'm hooked) to pick up books 2 & 3 in the Potter series. She had called ahead and they had them waiting for us.
Then we went to Barnes and Noble, Million Books, Michael"s, Book Rack and finally at 4 in the afternoon landed in TGIF for lunch. I had ordered a Cobb salad and she a Bacon Hhamburger when her cell phone rang. It was DIL, she was sick at work with a migraine and wanted to be picked up, (GD had the car). So we asked the waitress to make the orders to go and flew home for the rescue!!! DIL gets severe migraines. But up to that point we were enjoying ourselves immensely. GD even waited til I did my NH and gym visits before we left.
SEMMENS - THYanx for info on thickening.
GRACIOUS - Your info too. I guess Guar Gum has to be bought at a HFS.
MONET - Nver gave it a thought, but you are right I'm sure...thickening doesn't affect flavor. THat's why I was concerned about using SGWW flour aas it gives a flavor of its own!
JACKK- NAture's Own SF bread and rolls has a big green banner on their label that says "Sugar Free".
Gotta go! Take care all. Shirley

Good Morning!
I'm up early again! UGH! Actually, I was going to bring my hubby to his cousins so that he could ride to work with her - but she isn't going into work today! So, I'm stuck without a car again today!! What a way to spend my Spring Break! I guess I'll be calling Enterprise this morning! I refuse to stay home!
DARAMUS: Don't worry about the Dr. I'm sure that everything will be better than ever! That's what usually happens on this plan!
MONET: Did you know that you can paint right over that wallpaper? All you have to do is Kilz it first. I've done that in a few of my rooms - saves the trouble of pulling it all up!
BOB: Go BOB! Fired up about the fact that you have been smoke free for a year!!! I'm so proud of you!!!
Well, I go to the OBGYN today for my lupron shot - I'm sure he will be pleased with my loss. I think I'm down 15 or so since my last visit. I'll give you the official loss this afternoon!
Got a call last night from BKM and the Big Knight himself came through his knee surgery with flying colors! The surgery was 70 minutes long - arthroscopic and a little cutting, Chris said. They are staying in a hotel and keeping the Big Knight with them so they can take care of him. The Dr. is the Dr. for the Orlando Magic, so he was in good hands….now, the nurses, that's a different story! When you're a nurse you certainly know what good service is and when it's your baby - you expect that service to be stepped up a notch! He's definitely in good hands with Mom and Dad taking care of him. Chris said they expect him to do excellent in his physical therapy and be ready for 2-a-days in August! That's awesome!! She is very thankful for the kind words and will be back on the board as soon as she can.
GATORGAL - Good to see you! Sounds like you're busy as usual and taking care of people in your very special way too. :D Hard to imagine that it's even warmer in the evenings than it is at, say, noon, but that's what the weather man said this morning. Yeah, I can't really get up any earlier than I already do, but will certainly be walking in the am on the week-ends. I just hope people don't mistake my personal Gatorade/Water attendant for a lemonade stand and buy him out of all my liquids!
MARIE - Yeppers! Got your recipe and even shared it with some co-workers. Thank you so much for remembering me! SNOW?!?! I remember it snowed on April 1 my freshman year in college. We thought people were playing an April Fool's Day joke on us until we went outside and saw it for ourselves. It never snows in April in Mississippi!
JACK - When I started walking I weighed 220 lbs. and couldn't really even make it to the entrance to my apt. complex. I would just walk for 10 minutes and head back home as it would take me about 15 minutes to make it back. I could probably do that whole 25 minutes of walking in 1/2 the time now. 3 Miles is nothing to sneeze at and the fact that you're doing anything is extremely commendable! Time is an issue, but at this point in my life….a. I don't really have a choice if I don't want to end up with adult onset Diabetes and b. I have set this goal and promised myself I will do the WDW half marathon in January and I refuse to let myself down or get embarrassed because I told everyone I was going to do it and then not.
BOB - WTG!!! AWESOME!!! You non-smoker, you!! Poor Skeeter, good thing he's tough and doesn't get his feelings hurt too easily. I HATE it when people ask me when I'm expecting.
POOCH - You'll be glad you post that way - 1. You'll never lose a post and 2. I think it helps me remember people better. Sorry to hear DH was not one of the ones coming in, but we'll certainly all be looking for you when he does! Vince loves everything military and people often think he is or was in the military. We have the utmost respect for our armed forces!
QUILTER - So good to hear from you!! Sounds like you had a wonderful week-end! WTG on staying OP!
DARAMUS - Lots of medical experts on the board and I'm not one of them. Congrats on 30 lbs. That can only be healthy for you!
SEF - I LOVE Harry Potter!!! I can hardly wait to buy the DVD and the latest book when it comes out. I was going to go with friends who have kids to see the movie, but Meister got a little jealous and so we went together and now he's hooked on Harry!
Not gonna get to everyone, so solly! But I'm already behind schedule for the day. Have a great day everyone!!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
I'm a little bummed out today. I normally don't weigh except for WIW, but this morning I was waiting on the shower to warm up so I thought I would see how I was doing. So anxious to get under that 200 mark. To my dismay I was up 2#. I don't know why. This is the week before my TOM and according to my journal, that is the week I usually don't loose, but to gain 2#!! I have increased the size of my weights I am using. Excuses, excuses. Maybe it's been too many legal SB treats. Need to leave those alone for awhile.
Daramus, WTG on reaching that 30# mark. People should start noticing that you are losing weight and maybe that will make you feel better about it. I have a long way to go also but it will come off. Hang in there.
Bob, Congrats on your 1 year anniversary. Do you notice how much better things smell and taste. One of my coworkers quit abut a year ago and she says she can really tell the difference in smells and tastes especially with an orange. WTG
Pooch, great job on handling your day at BG and passing up all those "goodies". I like howyou are prepared for tomorrow. I think planning is the key to this whole weight loss thing. I don't know how you handle your DH being gone so long. I guess you are just used to it. I will definately keep you all in my prayers. It always makes me cry when I see those guys & girls coming home on TV. They are heroes.
Quilter, I also got tricked today. The dj on the radio said it was 7:23, and hoped everyone remembered to set their clocks up over the weekend, I was panicking. I thought sure I was going to be late to work and I kept trying to call the time # and it was busy. Then it came back on and said April Fool. I didn't think it was funny.
Sounds like you had a great weekend. It is truly a blessing to have a wonderful MIL and family. Mine was so good to me too. I truly miss her.
Daramus, my liver enzymes were elevated, but I take a lot of meds for my RA so don't know that what really caused it. I have my blood taken every 2 months and I never fast before hand. BTW the next mo, they were back to normal. Good luck. Sounds like you are having fun with all those Drs. LOL. I always eat 1 egg and 1 egg beaters when I have egss and you can't tell the difference. Have you tried the FF cottage chees. I actually like that better. I would suggest trying some fruit instead of the cheese and triscuts. I know I need to get int he hjabit of eating more fruit for snacks than actual fatty snacks.
Monet, I'm with you. I love Spring. The sunshine puts you in such a good mood and all the flowers and blooming trees are so pretty. It makes a walk outdoors so much more enjoyable. Hope you had fun with your daughter. WTG on avoiding the candy. Candy is not something that bothers me either. Guess I'm not a choco-holic.
Sef, are the Nature's Own HB buns whole wheat too? I guess we just got the wrong ones. $18.00 worth!! Sounds like you were having a great day with your GD.
Got to get to work now. Hope everyone has a good day.

It’s been a long while since I checked in. Had a rotten headache for a couple of days over the weekend (hormones are EVIL  ). I’m UP close in weight to where I was when I started on SB. TOM is here and nasty as ever (I repeat, hormones are EVIL:devil: ) and today I go for my yearly physical--except we’ll have to put off the “girly” stuff--Sorry Daramus.
Guess I’m a little cranky cause I can’t eat or have my coffee! After the doc I can start fresh and try harder to keep to SB eating.
I’ve tried to catch up. Sorry I didn’t get to everyone.
ROSALIE WTG getting the boards up!
POOCH Congrats to your son getting into the magnet school.
BETH You really had a bad week before, but it looks like things are turning around. Good luck to you in getting a job you really like
MEL Sounds like you had a wonderful time with DEB. Congrats to your daughter’s team! I think you’re amazing for being soooo dedicated to doing BFL. You’ve done so well--Good luck on Challenge 2.
ADRONSGIRL sorry to hear you lost your job. Sounds like you’ve got some plans. Hope everything works out for you. WTG for not cheating at the inlaws. Wonderful news about the lost inches.
DARAMUS 30lbs is awesome! WTG! Good for you in NOT having chocolate in 4 months. Wish I could say the same LOL Keep up the good work--you’re an inspiration. Good luck with the doc. I have to have blood work done today and my appt is for 10:15 and already I’m getting a headache from not eating (it’s 9:00 as I type this). Hope you followed ROSALIE’s advice and were allowed to eat a little something.
BOB WTG for one year smoke free! Proud of you--it’s quite an accomplishment
QUILTER sounds like you had a lovely holiday
MONRT WTG in risisting the chocolate Sounds like you’’re gonna be having a busy spring break
SEF Sounds like a lovely time you were having with GD. She sounds like a lovely girl. I hope your DIL is feeling better. Migraines are not nice.
SOL thanks for posting about the BIGK and his momma. Glad to hear all went well. Thanks for the recipes too. I want to try the muffins soon.
YELLOWROSE Thanks for posting the coleslaw recipe. I usually make mine like that but hold the mayo. I might try it with mayo for a change.
Have a GREAT day everyone!

Easter weekend is over and the kids are back to school. A 4 day weekend is a long time it seems until you have to get it all together for the back to normal days.
Semmens & Sef - Yes, guar gum is available at the health food store-at least it is here in Canada. It is inexpensive and goes a long way. I cannot discern any taste when I eat the sauces that I use it in...so that is a good thing!
I don't seem to have anything to say for a change.... :?: How odd.

Good Morning
I did 5 miles on the stationery bike this morning. Thought I had better start getting my butt in gear. It took a little longer this morning than yesterday as I was reading at the same time. But even if I do it slowly and without the pressure turned up too much it still seems to loosen up the knees. Just done a pile of laundry. Have the last lot in the dryer. When that is done I am heading out to the library before going to work this afternoon.
Had a good day staying op yesterday but I know I ate too much. I finished off the cheesecake this morning. Had most of it yesterday - there was about half of it left yesterday morning and I have now scarfed the lot. I guess I'd better not make it again for a while.
Gator - Sounds like you had a very busy Easter weekend.
Jack-K - That's a good idea to make the cheesecake in muffin pans. I think I will try that next time but will make it without the crust. That extra two pounds is probably pre-menstrual water retention. I'm sure it will be gone again in a day or two.
BOB - Congrats on your 1 year non-smoking anniversary. WTG girl. I am sure you are breathing a lot better. I know it made a lot of difference to me when I quit 12 years ago.
Pooch - It's a good idea to take your own snacks when you visit BG (or any other park). None of them seem to have anything except starchy, fatty, fast food. As well as being so expensive.
Quilter - I can see you weren't lonely while dh was away. Sounds like a busy, fun weekend with your family. WTG in not giving in to the candy. That's more than I can say for myself. You can come for breakfast any time Kim. I'd love to see you.
Monet - Lucky you to be able to get out and walk in the spring weather. Spring up here is in name only. It's a very dull day here and is just beginning to snow. :(
Sef - That was a nice day out you had with your gd.
Solshine - Thanks for filling us in on BKM and her ds's surgery. Sounds like he was in good hands. I had the pot roast last night and it was very good. Will be taking leftovers to work this afternoon for dinner.
Zanne - Sorry to hear about the lousy couple of days you have had. Hope the headache is better. I've never been told to fast when going for a physical. If the doc wants to do any blood work that requires fasting I will go back a day or two later and go very early in the morning. That way I can be home in time for breakfast!
Time to go and check the drier and jump in the shower.
Have a good day everyone.
Marie.

I don't know how much I will get to post. I'm also printing out some large spread sheets and sometimes my little'ole laptop gets overwhelmed.
OK--I'm back on track--and thanks for all the support! It really does help knowing that there are folks ready to lift your up when you stumble!
BOB--Congrats on the 1-year smoke free anniversary. I think you've probably done more for your health by getting off the ciggies, than if you had lost weight and were still smoking. But now that you've passed this anniversary we'll help you focus on your weight and healthy eating! You know we're gonna be there for you girlfriend!
Adron's girl--I have two words--ring guards! I had the same problem, my rings were literally about to fall off and I don't want to have them resized but once. I went to the jewly store and they put ring guards on them (for free). My rings are now securly on my fingers!
Daramus--congratulations on the 30 lbs! It is much better to concentrate on what you've accomplished. I imagine you will be pleasantly surprised at the Dr. office--I hope so anyway. Do let us know.
BigKnight's Mom--I'm SOOO glad to hear that the surgery went well. You DS is lucky to have his familiy with him--especially after everything he has been through recently. I am 43 years old and when I had knee surgery last summer, my momma came to take care of me and I was sure glad to have her around!
OK--got to go, a client is on the phone. I will try to get back on tonight for to respond to everyone!
In the meantime I hope everyone has a good OP day!

Kimmy - To post a photo click on POST REPLY then go to the bottom of the screen and click on BROWSE. This will take you to the files on your computer. Select the file that contains the pic you want to post, double click and it will attach to the post. It should be a file with the extension JPG or JPEG. This should work as long as the file is not too big. When I posted my pics I had to use the pics that were saved as 75dpi. The ones I had scanned and saved as 100 dpi were too big. Let me know if it works.

I snuck a peek at the scale this morning, and I seem to be down two more pounds! I am really excited! I sure hope it holds for WIW!
I am not feeling very good this morning...I think the Glucophage is beginning to upset my stomach a lot. I have another week and a half until I go back to the doctor for my next recheck. I guess I will stick it out until then.
I have to go and take my daughter to meet a friend and his mom for lunch....will check in later!
ROSALIE: Thanks for the tip again, on using notepad to answer posts! I tried it and it worked great! If I had more time, I would have gotten to all the posts!
DARAMUS: Hope everything goes well at the doctors! Low fat
dairy is not too bad. I like the light cream cheese, and low
fat cottage cheese. As for eggs, if you like the fried or
scrambled, just toss out some of the yolks. I make myself one
egg and three whites every morning, fried!
SEF: I LOVE the Harry Potter books! So well written and
everything kids love! Enjoy! After my hubby and girls (20
and 15!) fought over the books, I read them. Then, my hubby
talked me into going to the movie. I can't wait for the next
book!
FRUIT: I have a friend who hangs wallpaper professionally,
and she keeps telling me this, but the paper I pulled off
needed to come down! It was curling at the edges, and not
sticking to the wall very well anymore. I am going to sand
the paper in the kitchen and paint over it though! Thanks for
the tip on Kilz..I will get some of that!
JACK: Has it gotten to be spring like there in Louisville?
I agree it is lovely to walk around in the spring...but here,
once it really gets going, the pine pollen is awful! In fact,
I think Atlanta air is lethal in the spring! It has one of
the highest pollen counts! Oh well! At least it is pretty!

....and I'm down 5 lbs!!!!
Went to water aerobics this morning - the instructor is a slave driver :D and I loved her! The other ladies in the class were so nice, and I felt right at home. I am so tired now that I think I need a nap before lunch :o I am so hyped that I finally got myself motivated, and I have met a girl who is going to be buddies with me, since we both need motivation. I am happier than I can even begin to describe!!! I still have a long way to go, and have only lost 5 lbs in the past month, but I am seeing progress and I am feeling better about ME. I'm done working for a mean old woman, I have recently found out that I am manic depressive, and am FINALLY getting that under control, the weather is awesome, and for the first time in my life, I have self control! I am so lucky to have found this support group :D
Rose - I like your philosophy on multiple wedding rings! Adron thinks that one is enough and should last a whole lifetime, and I feel that it is simply a symbol, and while the first one has a certain specialness to it, I don't feel like I have to be limited to wearing that one band ;)
Sol - way to go on training for the marathon! Wanna go ring shopping together???
Loupe - You're almost there on the rings then! Keep it up - just think of all the new jewlery we will all have soon....
Rosalie - you are so awesome for managing the boards while Deb is gone! Thank you bunches :D I agree about the inches. I am afraid that now that I am exercising, the weight loss my really slow while the muscle is building, but that is fine with me. I am more concerned about how healthy I am than I am about the numbers.
Jack-K - thanks! Water aerobics didn't irritate my poor arthritic knees, which made me very happy. Go for it - it's a blast!
Daramus - way to go on the goal!!!!!!! I am so jealous of your menu - I told Adron just now that I was going to start buying sweet potatoes for my lunches. He asked what brought that on, and I told him it was all your fault. I think he's just happy I'm not making him eat them....... Good luck at your doctors visit!
Bob - congrats on your anniversary! What a big difference that makes in your health :D I quit a few years ago after only smoking for 8 years, and I can't imagine having to go through that again.
Pooch - I am so proud of you for staying legal at BG! I am dreading taking my Brownie troop to 6 Flags this summer - I know I'll have to at least eat a corn dog <sigh> We'll see how the Mary Kay goes - I figure if I am motivated enough, it should at least pay a few bills!
Quilter - didn't mean to scare you! I certainly wouldn't complain about having an extra wedding set to wear! Now if I can just convince him that this is a good idea......
Sef - so where do you find the Natures Own SF buns? We have the bread at Kroger, but not the buns. Maybe I can ask the manager if he can get them in, as well as the oat bran pretzles...
Zanne - sorry about that headache - I've not had nearly as many since I started SB. In fact, that is the one thing that keeps me legal when my will power fails me! Keep up the good work, and don't lose faith.
Fillise - what a good idea! I got some of those plastic "snuggies", but the feel funny, and I can only wear one per finger or it gets way bulky. BUT that also eliminates the need for new jewlery!
Hello to evryone else - hope you all have a great day!!!!!!

ADRONSGIRL-yEA FOR YOUR FIVE lbs. I would love to go to water aerobics. i'M SO glad you're motivated. thats so hard to get and feels so good when you are. and it sure helps to have a buddy.. you sound great! keep up the good work...
Monet-No peeking..... Sure hope it holds and then some. Sorry you're not feeling well. Maybe if you're not better by tomorrow you ought to at least give the doctor's office a call.
Rosalie-That picture stuff sounds really confushing to me but I'm going to try when my husband gets done working on my computer. Wow 5 miles on the bike is great... I've got my laundry going to. You're doing a great job setting up the board!!!!
Gracious-Trying to get back to normal here. Think I'll never get everything put up and done from little ones running throught the house.
Zanne-You'll get started back again , those hormones are a nightmare... My husband has been home the past few days and is experianceing mine in full swing!! LOL.. If you take my coffee away to I think I would chomp his ear off......
Jack-K-Climb back on that horse right now Jack-K and you may be surprised in the next few days. Don't give in gal! And don't let it win.... I'm so afraid of that darn scale, it seems to rule some of us...
Solshine-Glad all went well with the kneww surgery. Sure liked your advice to Jack. I'm doing that stuggle
with the treadmill. Between my heart and my weight its a real battle making my body move.
Fruit-Good luck at the doc's. Hope the doc does a little dance for ya... I love when my doc will look at my weight after I've lost. Can't wait till the end of April to see what mine thinks...
Sef- Good afternoon!!
Daramus-Sounds like you're up and going early.... Don't be discouraged with the scale today tomorrow could be a whole different story!!!! Its beautiful here to and I got out and set in my lawn swing early this morning for the first time this year. Now they say rain is coming. The cold has nipped everything around us. I love spring so much to and I have to say its my favorite time of the year. I'm bad to paint over that wall-paper. Just to lazy to pull it off.. Good for you and the sweets. The jelly beans that were calling to me have shut there mouths thank goodness. Guess they're mad I didn't dip into them...
Yellowrose-How are you today?
Well my board in my computer bit the dust this morning. My DH just went to get me another one. I'm using our laptop and don't know how very well, but I told him if I can just get over here to SB and not get behind. Hope you are all having a really nice SB day..... This is Zippy Banana Buns signing off...

I'm kind of down in the dumps because I don't think that WIW will treat me very well. The problem is that I have created a goal for myself that I'm afraid I won't make. I want to be about 145lbs by mid-May because I'm going to florida for a holiday. My boyfriend's mother lives there and she is a size two. I know I can never be that but I feel inadequate. I feel because I weigh more that she might think I'm weak. I'm sure this might be a common feeling and I know it's wrong, but I still want to feel good about myself in a bathing suit. I'm a pear and I know you pear girls out there know what it's like to have your thighs rub together during a romantic walk on the beach... I don't mean to bring everyone down but I need a more positive reason to motivate me to lose weight.
AdronsGirl- Good for you, keep it up! Water aerobics is great. I love that you don't feel all sticky from the sweat because you're in the water!! :)
Monet 320- I'm sure it will stick until WIW, and if it doesn't, then it's probably water-weight. You can't gain two solid pounds of fat on this WOE!
Rosalie-I know how you feel. I finished up the cookies my boyfriend's mother sent us last night. I figured better get them out of the house, so I ate them. At least they're gone!
Zanne- aah Hormones. Use all that extra rage and direct it towards working out!
Jack-k- i know how you feel. I ate like a rabbit all last week and I think I really screwed it all up this weekend. But you could be right...muscle weighs a lot.
Good luck everyone! Drink a lot of water to flush yourselves for WIW.

Man I feel lazy today. I should be doing other things but where am I? Yep back at the SB board. *smile* You all really lift my spirits and it's so motivational to know that we struggle with some of the same issues when it comes to weight loss and self esteem.
Quivondra Please don't let your motherinlaws tiny size make you feel less about you. You are working and trying hard to change your self..that shows work and dedication. I don't know you well but you seem like a sweet heart. She will love you for you....and isn't that how it should be? *smile* I here what you are saying about a bathing suit. Do any of us like ourselves in a swim suit? Besides my 14 year old daughter...there ought to be laws *smile*
Zanne I am laughing at those evil hormones of yours. I think they got with mine and planned mutiney at the Roth house..LOL Hope you are feeling much better this afternoon after your appointment and some decent eats. I hate fasting for blood work...pooey.
Adron's Girl WTG on feeling better about yourself and finding a work out buddy. It's so much more fun and it helps with accountability. Trust me...my kids let me know if I miss...they are my workout buds. *smile* Congratulations on the 5 pounds.
SolShine Thank you for the update on BKM's son. It's wonderful to hear he is doing well.
Jack-K Don't fret about the minor gain...it's probably just water and could be gone plus some by the morning. Trust me...*smile* I'm terrible with a capital T..I weight soooo often..I know not healthy but I can't help it...LOL
I didn't take very good notes this morning so please forgive me if I forgot someone's milestones or something. I rejoice when I read them and pray for those having a bad day. I just don't always remember to write it down....one of these days I will catch on to who is who and it will be easier.
Have a great day!
Love,
Crystle:)

Hi everyone! I had a good time at the doctors office, and Im looking forward to getting my blood results back. Anyway, here is my first attempt at more than a general post. :) My typing and spelling skills are like my cooking skills - they leave much to be desired. :o
fruitloupe: Thanks for the encouragement! :)
SolShine: I am sure am happy about the 30 pounds that's for sure. I weighed in at the doc's office today and he said I've lost 36 since I last saw him. So that made me feel good.
Jack-K: Gettung under 200 was my first goal, and, boy, did it seem to take forever to get there. Thanks for the kind words regarding my 30 pound loss. You're right about people noticing. For me, it came at just the right time, too. I was starting to get a little down. I think I'm going to try some of your suggestions on lowering the fat. Thanks for the tips!
Zanne: I never would have believed that I could go so long without eating chocolate, ice cream, chips, etc. I haven't even had a single SB legal dessert in all that time. Amazing what you can do without once you decide to eliminate it. Now, if I can only quit smoking! Ugh.
Fillise: I actually was happy at the Dr. office today. BP and pulse were good... sugar is normal (woot! I was borderline diabetic and that is why I went on SB) and my doc was very happy to see my progress.
Monet 320: Sounds like you are going to have a good WIW. :) Thanks for the tips on cutting back the fat. I can stomach light cream cheese, but the no fat stuff tastes like toothpaste to me. lol
AdronsGirl: Thanks! I'm real happy with the variety of food I have been eating. It doesnt take much to make me happy thank God. I just got a bunch of agave so I am thinking about trying to do some baking. But I have to set aside an entire day because Im sure I will dirty every dish in the house and destroy the kitchen! lol I am not the best person to spend time in a kitchen. :) Glad to hear your going to start having sweet potatoes. I only started eating them when I started SB. Now I love them! One potato was too much for me, so I started having half and that is perfect.
Toni48: I'm up by 6am every day whether I want to be or not. Im so used to getting up then that I dont even need an alarm clock anymore. I can't wait for my pool to warm up (no heater) so I am actually looking forward to warm weather here in AZ. I have lived here all my life so the heat is no big deal. :) Looking forward to swimming instead of just the treadmill.
Quivondra: I can relate to feeling down lately. Im feeling much better now, and I know you will being feeling great again in no time! :)
Well *whew* I give you ladies credit for having the stamina to follow this board and post like you do! Maybe I will get better in time. :p

Afternoon all....Need to ask a question. If there is 1 gram of sugar in something like a 99% fat free soup I'm going to use in cooking something. Are you not supposed to eat that? This may be a really stupid question I know. But I've found some good products but they'll have a gram of sugar in them. What is the rule? I don't want to intentionally stretch this program to please me. And I don't find any rule in the book. Thanks for any help..

Hi everybody. I'm absolutely wiped out from my second day back at the gym. Was able to do my whole workout, but I kept wanting to close my eyes driving home:o. I can't remember who asked, but Body for Life(BFL) is a highly structured nutrition and weighlifting program. It is very demanding, and the book is full of motivational stuff as well as the nuts and bolts of the program. It's designed to be done in 12 week blocks, with a "rest" week between, that some people turn into a pig-out week as well. Thank heavens I didn't do that! I've kept SB legal(um, except for a few cheats) while doing BFL which has been quite easy (the food part). The main problem I had with the program at first is that you have to re-arrange your mindset, because while you are losing fat, you are not necessarily losing scale weight. That was very frustrating for me, but at the end of the first 12 week "challenge", I had lost 7% body fat although I only lost 4 pounds on the scale. I added about 6.5lbs of muscle, and dropped 1 pants size. I really like the program, but it is demanding, and you have to like HEAVY weightlifting and intense cardio.
Darasmus- Congratulations on your doctor's visit and on mastering the posts! Be careful of those legal SB baked goods- I used to love to bake and adapted a lot of recipes using agave, but just ate too much legal stuff. Now I don't bake anything! my case of agave will last forever:D
Zanne- Those evil hormones must be flooding the entire continent! Got a bad case of them here, too. If I wasn't so tired from working out, I'd be either screaming or crying
Quivondra- OOOh I know that feeling! My mother has to stuff herself to keep at 100lbs at 5'4" and has spent my entire life telling me she just doesn't know what's wrong with me. Don't let it get to you! You are who you are inside and that's why your boyfriend is with you and not some anorexic size 2.
BOB- Congratulations on the no cigs anniversary! If you can do that, you can do ANYTHING!
BKM- I guess I missed the lead-up to the surgery, but I'm glad your son is doing well. Sounds like he is in good hands. With ds, I'm always afraid I'll get the torn ACL call. Is that what happened to him? It's horribly common for female lacrosse and basketball players.
Quilter- It's so good to see you back and hear news of VIV. Thanks.
Sol- Your distances are amazing! I think that's a great idea for you and Vince to set up water stops for each other. When I was in Ft. Laud. last week, the first time I tried to run I could only do 3 miles because it was so much hotter than I'm used to, even without the hills. Go girl, you're gonna do the whole marathon!
Hello to everyone else- I'm not ignoring you, just falling asleep and using the backspace key more than anything else! Let's all hope for the best tomorrow-

Hope your day has gone well today. Mine was okay, but I have been really tired the past two evenings. Oh well, better suck it up and keep going. Not much new to report. Weather is good here, but they are calling for rain later. KIMMY, have you dried out up there yet??? Are we still planning on Friday at JJ’s??? I’ll email you.
DARAMUS---Good luck at the dr tomorrow. I don’t know anything about that fasting thing. But ROSALIE has given you good advice. Listen to hear and make the call.
MONET---How fun that you are doing some painting in your house. Here’s my opinion . . . I LOVE COLOR!!! My dining room is a deep sage with a taupe ceiling (very cozy) and my living room is a beautiful shade of golden mustard (not like the french’s jar). So go for it. I love watching Christopher Lowell on Discovery Channel. He inspired me to take away the white. I’ll wager you won’t be sorry if you go for some really great colors. And if you don’t like it, it’s only paint. You can go over top of it. Good luck and be sure to keep us posted.
SEF---Your day with GD sounded heavenly. All that wonderful shopping. Sorry to hear that DIL was suffering from a migraine. I hope she got some medicine into her quickly enough to help. I’m glad to hear you got turned on to HP. Those are great books. Enjoy!!! Nubmer 3 was my favorite!!!
SOL---Thanks for the report on the Big Knight. Since I was off the board last week, I had no idea this was happening. I’ll bet Chris is breathing easier now that her baby is in her hands. Hey, did you get your puppy? I’ve been away and I know that I’m missing a lot of key info. Just wondering.
JACK-K---I agree with you that somethings just aren’t funny and that dj joke crossed the line. I would have been in a panic as well. I hope you don’t get too dismayed about the 2 pounds. You know that could vanish by tomorrow. And remember that the muscles you are building from the weight training can affect your poundage, but it doesn’t main that you are really gaining. Right?????? Hang in there.
ADRONSGIRL---Way to go on getting yourself to the gym!!!!! That is awesome. You sound so excited and I am that excited for you too. I am so envious that you are doing water aerobics. I would love to do that, but just can’t find a way to fit it in. Keep going!!!! You are on the right track. I think 5 pounds is a great amount to lose. Remember, you don’t really want to lose it fast. Slow and steady wins the race!!!!!
QUIVONDRA---Honey, my heart is aching for you. I have been right where you are for my entire life. Well, since at least 1968 which is pretty much the majority of it. I dubbed myself Queen of the Pear-shaped Syndrome many years ago. It’s not fun. I want you to enjoy your vacation and stop all those conversations that are going in your head about being heavier than the size 2 person. Just be in the moment where ever you are and try to have fun. When I look back at some of my vacation pictures where I was on the beach, I really didn’t look all that bad and I now wish I could have been at peace back then with who I was. It would have probably kept me from being where I am today on the scale that is. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and wish for fun times for you during this time.
MEL---Good for you that you are back into BFL. Sorry to hear that you are exhausted today. But that will probably go away soon. Don’t you think??? Keep going and keep talking about it. I’ve never done it, but I love listening to you talk about it.
Well, is anybody going to chat tonight? I’ll try to pop in. Take care. Talk to you all later.

We are back from our trip to visit the grandmothers. We stayed a day longer than planned because we ended up scanning bunches of pictures. My DH's home business is taking photos and creating movies/slide shows for the computer. We got pictures of some of his great, great relatives. It was amazing how much his GMs still knew about everybody. Not just who they were, but some of the funny things about them. My eating went okay. I didn't buy any Easter candy because my DDs don't really eat that much chocolate and I didn't need it around. I did break down and eat the crust of a piece of pizza. It was Johnny's and that's what we lived on in college and I just couldn't eat only the topping. And there were some RS regular pecan clusters that my MIL had, so one just jumped in my mouth when I wasn't looking!
I've maintained the 164 even with TOM in full force. I hope tomorrow is a good WIW.
Kimmy: Love your pictures of the jeans. You should be very proud of yourself!
Frog: So glad to hear that your GM is settling in. And it's great that you are going to be involved in helping the residents' days become cheerier.
Mel: Congrats on your DD's game. Haven't seen my DS since he left in January. I envy you being able to get to some of her games. We will have him home for 3 days in May in between finals and Commissioning Week. He is getting ready to order his class ring and is all excited. Sapphires sure do cost a lot of money, BTW!
Adron'sGirl: Congrats on the loose rings and weight loss. And I hope your full time self/employment will give you much more pleasure than working for an evil person.
Beth: Hope this week is better and that the new job comes through. Loved the pictures of you and your family. When are we going to see you out from behind your kiddos? Soon, I bet!
Daramus: WTG on the 36 pounds at the DR's office. You're doing great - keep up the good work. The cooks on this board will have you in gourmet chef status before you know it!
BOB: Congratulations on your 1 year smoke-free anniversary. I know how hard it is to quit, my DH has tried it sooo many times. He's just too addicted to be successful.
BKM: Glad your DS came thru his surgery in flying colors. Hope his recovery time passes swiftly.
Sol: Keep up that running, Girlfriend. You'll be flying by everybody at WDW!
Rose: How did the Hawaiian vacation turn out? Did you enjoy your Easter? Don't cha love this weather?:dizzy:
Tina in TX: Where are you? Did you have a good Easter? Did you have the long weekend, too?
I hate to leave and leave so many not replied to, but I gotta finish supper, then go back to school for a PTO meeting. They need the teachers there so they'll have a quorum for voting on new officers.
Take care and here's hoping for a great WIW for us all!
Night!

Just checking in quickly.
Quiv, Don't be so hard on yourself. Focus on how much betteryou feel on this WOE. There is always going to be someone out there that weights less than you. You just have to like yourself and be happy with what you are doing. Don't put too much stock in what others think. Plus you still have over a month to go before your trip, you could loose 10 by then. Hang in there. We are here for you.
Toni, I think the book states under 3 grams of sugar is legal. I know they say use Campbell's cream of mushroom soup in moderation.
Guess I had better go spend some time with DH so I can come back to chat room tonite.

:) Hi I enjoyed reading the posts. I just started today but lost the motivation at lunch time. I'll get back to the plan tonight.
I have about 77 pounds to lose -it's a lucky number isn't it? About twenty of the pounds are from quitting smoking in january 2001, which I am still very proud of but much heavier because of it. Being fat is healthier than being a smoker!
I'll try to post on a regular basis and fill out the bio. thanks in advance for the support.

Gee, I've been gone so long that I was shocked to see Marie as our LEADER! ;) No, I recognize it as Debbie's work, so I take it she's out of town?? Gee, I've been gone waaaaaaaaaayyyyyy tooooo long!
I miss you guys. Wish I could say that I've read the posts, but just one look & saw 4 pages, so I know I can't respond to anyone tonight, but thought I'd say hello & that I've not left the universe....just busy.
Actually, was sick since last week & spent the week end in bed & vegging on the recliner. Had a minor surgery on my hand last Tuesday which did NOT go well. Just a small thing that needed to be removed & I ended up with a 2" cut. Of course I didn't know that till the next day when I unwrapped it, since I passed out cold on the table at the doctor's office. Seems as though I have developed an allery to Xylocaine. Anyway, by the next day I came down with ear/sinus infection & it's been downhill from there.
Needless to say, I was NOT exposed to any Easter goodies, since I wasn't able to make it to church or to the family gathering Sunday.
Weight is still holding at 135. Did see 134 a couple of times, but I seem to fluctuate from 134-137, even 139 once or twice, but that seems like mostly fluid, cause the next day it's coming back down. I know I was doing better when I was posting more often, so I need to make more of an effort to get to the board, cause I'm still determined to get the weight down to 130-134 for my comfort range. As soon as I'm feeling better, I'm planning to start walking again. The weather is perfect for that right now, just don't feel quiet up to it yet.
Well, hopefully I can get back & read some of your posts, then try to catch up with all of you. So long for now!

HiedieHo All!!!!!
Just a regular day here. Went to Bible Study, fixed supper. Been chatting with Kimmy. Time to move from computer!!! Just a couple of replies.
SOL - I can't wait to see HP movie. My GD is dropping hints, says the only place DVD for HP is available is at Amazon.com. Her birthday is 28th, so hint, hint!!!
JACKK - Yes, the buns are SGWWSF, I read somehwere they also have hotdog buns but have not seen those. The Hamburger buns are so good they are nice with just a little butter. I can't find Oat Bran Pretzels. Will have to ask customer service if they can get them.
GRACIOUS - Thanx for reply on availibilty of Guar Gum.
ADRON - All the grocery stores carry NO here, also Wal*mart, try them. I love water aerobics, can't wait til pool is warm enough. Can't afford club that has pool here to be able to go year round.
Think that's it for now.
Take care. Shirley

hey everyone!
I just wanted to pop in and say hello. My doctor visit went well...I was down 17 pounds since last month's visit. He was very proud of me. Mind you this is the doctor that is not obsessed with my weight - this is my normal OBGYN. The one obsessed is my specialist. So, he was proud and he makes me feel good about myself!:D its the other one that gets me down!
DARAMUS: Way to go - 36 pounds is great! You must feel really good about yourself! keep up the great work.
MELF: Girl - you are sticking to that goal - keep it up! I am so proud of you!
Well, let me run - see ya'll tomorrow!

Hi All,
What a lovely bright day in Dallas. I was a very busy girl this morning. I even made bread. I got a recipe from
the SweetTalk board that is very easy and good. I use the bread maker, then take it out to knead it some more and
let it rise about one hour and bake it 30 minutes. I know what is in the loaf and we love it. I think I could take
some of the dough and make hamburger buns if I wanted. I do have to say that this loaf turned out sooo well. The
grain is fine and the taste is great. We had some with some homemade chicken soup for dinner. Since that was
the only carb for dinner I didn’t even need to feel guilty.
BOB: It is really wonderful that you have made it past a milestone with giving up smoking. Major
congratulations!
AdronsGirl: In all fairness, I should say that I only do wedding bands now, not sets with diamonds, etc. A long
time ago, a housekeeper stole my engagement ring and I have never replaced it. I do enjoy the different bands,
though. Some are silver, some gold, some a mixture. Maybe your husband would like to help you pick one out.
Toni: I am doing great! My husband and I went out to lunch and later I shopped at Academy for some new shorts
while he went over to Home Depot. Just a short outing but it was nice to get away from doing my “book work”.
JRed: Hi, so glad you are back and had such a good time.
Fruitloupe: Seventeen pounds in one month...way to go. Isn’t it great when something goes right.
Frog: Thanks for the update on Deb.
Melf: Hello to you. I hope you feel better soon.
Sorry that I did not get to write to everyone, but I am thinking of you.
P.S. Kimmy: Just saw the pics you posted...you are so adorable!

Well, I'm down a pound from last week but am still 2 pounds up from my low. Today I am at 148.2 As you can see the numbers in my profile are wrong. Oh well.
Chat was great last night. Sorry for those who missed it.
Talking to Deb on the phone is always a treat. We're too chatty Kathy's too! She sounded great. Although she confessed that she cheated and hasn't consumed enough water, resulting the a "Dookie Hoswer" problem, she has kept up her exercise. It's nice to see that Deb is human. :D She asked about everyone and said to say hello.
POOCH - Great news regarding DD!
BETH - Can I come to your Dad's Easter egg hunt next year? WOW! Terrific about the TJ MAXX card. that place. Need a 12-step program for my addiction to that place!
MEL - Sounds like you had fun with Deb. Congrats on completing first BFL challenge. Good luck with round 2! Saw your pics on L&S! ;) Congrats on the BF% loss too!
FILLISE - Loved your Easter confession. You'll get back on track!
JACK-K - Sorry you're hurt. Check with your doc about vs.heat for pain. You may be adding to your problem with the heat.
ADRON'SG - Sorry to hear that you lost your job. Enjoyed chatting with you and Daramus last evening. Nice when other's notice losses isn't it? Gotta love your FIL for that!
ROSE - I dreamed I had a colonoscopy too! Isn't that funny? Glad your was clear!
FRUIT - 30 pounds! WOW! WTG! Your "new" name conjours up a bad visual!
KIMMY - Did you get the photo up?
SOL - Keep it up girl! Your new name also has a BAD visual.
DARAMUS - Enjoyed chat. Hope your #'s from doc are ok! WTG on your loss!
BOB - CONGRATS on your 1 year anniversary from smoking! That is a wonderful accomplishment! Poor Skeeter!
MONET - I am trying to get wall paper, a border, down in the living room and it isn't budgeting.
BKM - Glad the BK is recovering well.
QUIV - I sympathized with your beach dilemma! Remember, a sarong is a wonderful thing!
JRED - Great to see you back.
BUSDEB - Are you still camping?
VES - Where are you?
MELF - Sorry to hear about your hand. Hope you are feeling better soon!
WELCOME Healthy Girl!
Gotta go get ready for the gym. Have a great day and good luck on the scales!

Good EARLY Mornin!
Yep - I'm up again! I would like to sleep until 8 at least once! Well, with the alarm going off at 5 for hubby to get up - I can't seem to fall back to sleep!
WIW - I'm at 259 - I think last WIW I was at 261.5 so that would be a 3.5 loss. This week is gonna be really tough for me - staying on plan that is. I have lunch dates for the next 3 days with friends! I'm going to try to do my best but if my meal is not legal I just won't wipe the plate clean!
Well, I'll check in later! Have a good day!

Good Morning everyone!
Hate to be the first with bad news, but here goes. Up 1.5 today. Hoping it is pre-TOM that caused it. Oh well, just have to be more dilligent in my eating and exercising this week.
Monet, Today it is about 76. But it is getting ready to storm (again) and be in the low 50's the rest of the week. I wish it would warm up for good. I hate cold weather. I hope you feel better soon.
Adrons Girl, Way to go girlfriend on the 5#'s. So glad you liked the water aerobics. They sound like fun. It sure helps to have someone to make you go and give you support. I really like the support we get on this board. Keep up
the good work.
Healthygirl, welcome. You will get a lot of support on this board. Congrats on quitting smoking. One vice down, one to go. You can do it.
Hi Melf, I’m fairly new to this board. Glad to see you are back. Sorry to hear you have been so sick. Hope you are feeling better soon and your hand get better.
Fruit, WTG on the 17#. It’s nice when someone makes over the weight you have lossed. I have a really big cheerleader here at work. Everyday she tells me how skinny I am. (I’m not, 50# to go), but it is nice to hear. My RA Dr. made so much about it the last visit, it was almost too much. Sometimes, it is embarrasing.
Gottabeme, Hope you are feeling better about yourself today. IF you still need some motivation or someone to listen, email me direct. Good luck
Hope the scale is good to everyone else today.

Good Morning everyone :) It has been awhile. So long that you all probably forgot who I was. It has been crazy around here and I haven't had a chance to post. I have been able to read now and then from my work computer but I can't post from there because of security reason.
The weather is beautiful right now here in the california desert. We are having our couple of weeks of spring and then it will be hot for months. It has been in the high 80's to low 90's. It seems to early to have such hot weather.
I have notice that there are a alot new folks. Welcome!!!:)
Well, I have been able to stay somewhat on plan and have maintained the 8 lbs loss, which puts me at 160, but I just can't get past that. I need to exercise and don't find the time. The evenings are nice right now but by the time I get home from work I don't feel like walking.
Got to scoot and get ready for work.
Good luck to everyone and congrats on all the losses.

Well, today being WIW I have to bow out...I am a chicken. I am just coming off of TOM and waiting for my water weight to dissipate. I think I will have to make it a WIF (Friday) this week.
It is rainy and dismal today. Here in the rural area we have rain and 25 minutes north of us in Fredericton, they have snow. No matter how you look at it, it is a yucky day.
KIMMYTHEKID-Your pictures are awesome! You look fantastic in all of them and have done great. I know how you want to get the last few off and be comfortable for yourself. Hope they go quickly for you. Your kids are lovely. Such a family you have. It is like my mother's. She had 4 brothers and was the only girl...and the middle child which I think yours is too.
MUSICTEACH- Your kidlettes are cute too! I love your little girl's matching dresses. They certainly looked beautiful for Easter.
ADRONSGIRL- You are doing wonderful with that 5 lb loss. What a boost that is, isn't it? Talk about built in motivation for you. Keep up the good work.
HEALTHYGIRL- Welcome to the board. I hope you get the motivation that you are looking for from here. The ladies are a great fount of information and encouragement.
DARAMUS-That ladies comment made me think of you :) sorry about that! You are doing great as well and your loss is fantastic. I am glad your doctor's visit went well and I am certainly hoping your blood test results come back with good news for you.
FRUITLOUPE- You have done so well and WIW was very good to you again! Try to keep on track this week even with all of those luncheon dates. Just think of how great you have done, it is not worth blowing it just for some lunch. We have so much available to us to eat that is legal..make sure you pick good restaurants that have a SB friendly menu. Let us know how it goes.
BKM- You will have so much reading to catch up on when you get back but I just wanted to let you know I am thinking about your son and have sent prayer up for him. Glad to hear the surgery went well and I trust the recovery will go as smoothly.
QUIVONDRA- I think all of us can sympathize with you on this one. Be yourself, enjoy the loss that you have had and only be encouraged. You will get there when you do and you will have worked for it and appreciate it all the more. You are not a size 2 and like you said, never will be. Most people aren't. Your boyfriend didn't fall for you because you are a size 2 nor does he expect you to be one.
It is like someone else said about looking back at pictures and realizing that they looked pretty good at the time. I have done that as well. Thought I looked terrible but look back at the pics and I would LOVE to look like that again. We never seem to have a proper view of ourselves. Our silly heads are messed up it seems with what is reality and what our own formulated dream of what we should look like is. Just keep on SB'ing and do the best you can....don't let it bring you down. By the way, you already look fantastic in your pic!
Okay...I gotta get some real housework done here so I am going to have to fly. Hello to everyone else that I missed.

Hi everyone
Well I survived another day at Busch Gardens with the kids yesterday. It was a beautiful day – 72 degrees and sunny – which brought everyone to the park. It was packed and lines were long on the big rides. We left early again, about 3:00, and the park was closed because it was at capacity. I couldn't believe that. The kids and I ended up filling our bottles with water and they didn't even get soda refills. They did get large waffle cone hot fudge sundaes and that was hard watching them but I didn't have one J
I was dreading WIW with my pig out at Easter – everything was legal I just ate way too much. Anyway, I was quite surprised to have my usual 2 pound loss J As they say, slow and steady wins the race. This makes 34 pounds since I started Jan 16, 2002. I really like this WOE, most of the time it doesn't feel like I'm dieting – I still get weak when TOM rolls around but I know what to expect now. Congratulations to all the other "losers" this week.
Today the kids and I are staying home and cleaning the house – oh joy won't that go over good with them. We are supposed to get huge thunderstorms today. I like day storms J
Jack-K – I know you didn't think it was funny but the April Fools the radio guy did had me laughing so hard – now that was original.
HealthyGirl – welcome to the board!!
Melf – sorry to hear you were under the weather and about the cut – yikes!!
Sef – you can pre-order the DVD from Amazon but it will not be released until May 28. I would suggest you wait and get it directly from a store on the 28th because Amazon will not ship it until the 28th and you will be waiting for it in the mail.
Fruit – way to go – 17 pounds in a month – yahoo!!!! And a 3.5 loss this week – fantastic!!
Frog – glad to have you back. I can't believe I forgot about the chat again last night –ugh.
Have a great day everyone!!

Man....yesterday it was so beautiful in the morning...now today it is sorta raining and about 20 degrees colder:(
I missed the chat!!!!!! My DS 10 wanted to read with me, so he read a book about the Bible and I read my Bible and I feel asleep after about 40 minutes. When I woke up, it was 12:30! That also means I did not work out....
WIW...well...I am holding at 130. During the week I was at about 129...but I will take 130!!
Frog...
WTG on the 2 pounds. You will get to you low in no time and then make a new low. How is everything going for your GM? How are you holding up? Yes...I did get my photos up...I posted them in the photo album. Some turned out very "square" because I had to make them smaller. Wish I had made the chat! I was sleeping:yawn: I have really enjoyed the last ones I went to. It helps to get to know everyone a little better!
Jeanie...Thank you...but I hate any photos of me. I have total control of our camera so there are usually no pictures of me.
Lyn...thank you as well. Like I just said...I do not like getting my photo taken!!!
Fruit....
That is GREAT!!! It is awesome when all the hard work pays off! Keep it up!!
Jack-K...
AHHHH..the unwanted house guest..TOM. He pops out and spoils a good time. Don't worry....when he leaves, all will get back to normal! My biggest problem is how I feel during...I want to eat and eat and eat!
Healthygirl....
The best thing is that you stopped smoking! I know those pounds you gained are frustrating! Just take it one day at a time. This board is awesome! There is so much help and information here plus some really neat gals and GUY!
TAR is on tonight!!! I like that show. I actually watched the Bachelor the other night while working out. He is a good looking man...but come on....can you pick a life mate like this??? Guess we will see.
To everyone else...have a great day!!
Ellen

Down 2 this morning! New all time low! I am very happy!
I am still working on my wall paper, removing the backing paper that sticks after you pull off the heavy top stuff. It is not hard, just time consuming. The girls helped me pull it off, then got crayons and drew all over the backing. My son was over on Sunday, and added to it. Some of it is pretty funny, but it is not staying! I have pretty much decided on a deep blue for the paint, and I am working on my hubby bit by bit to get him to agree. He is a bit more cautious and conservative than I am! :)
The weather here is gorgeous again. If it stays warm, we can open the pool in another two weeks. (we have to wait for the dogwood blossoms to fall, otherwise they clog the filter lines!) Then I can get in the cold pool and pretend I am a polar bear!
ADRONSGIRL: I love water aerobics! I can't wait until it is
warm enough to open the pool! I have never had a class in it,
tho. What kinds of exercises do you do? I have always just
done leg lifts and jogged in place. Congrats on the five pounds!
That is awesome!
TONI: Sorry to hear you are having computer probs..I hate it
when mine acts up! My son is a computer help desk/tech person,
and he will fix it for me, but teases me something awful about
'what I did to it'! Nice you have the laptop tho!
QUIV: I agree with everyone else. Just cause your bf's mom is
tiny doesn't mean you should feel bad. If she makes you feel
bad, that is HER problem. Obviously your bf likes YOU.
I used to feel like you, that being overweight was a weakness,
which I suffered from terribly. Now I know better...a lot of
people have serious metabolic problems that make losing horribly
hard. Anyone who wants to treat me poorly cause I am fat is
not worth my time! I do hate the feeling of being judged on
appearance tho. I know what you mean about feeling good in
your bathing suit. I need a new one, cause there is a hole in
the knee of my old one! :s:
COUNTRY: We must be related! I am So gifted at finding things
to do other than housework and stuff! Enjoy some lazy time!
You are worth it!
DARAMUS: I am with you on the no fat dairy stuff...I hate it!
I get low fat cream cheese, and 1 or 2% cottage cheese. I do
use some low fat cheeses, but save your money and DO NOT buy
no fat cheeses! I think I would rather eat wax! Glad your
doctor visit went well! I love going to mine, cause he is so
much fun, and obviously very concerned and caring. I think I
go for the hug and the kiss he always gives me!
MELIRIS: I am so impressed with your BFL results! Way to go!
I did it for about four weeks almost two years ago, and got
really sick and had to quit. I want to take it up again though.
I loved the book! My hubby does the program, and he really
looks good! (even if I do say so myself! LOL ) I will be
looking forward to hearing how the next 12 weeks goes for you! Any tips on merging the two? Do you eat the six meals a day, yet keep it SB?
QUILTER: Thanks for the encouragement! I am thinking of a
dark blue. I mentioned it to my husband last night, and he
looked stricken! ha ha! He was thinking sky blue, and I was
thinking almost navy! I told him if it did not look good, I
could paint over it. He tried to say it would be hard, and I
shrugged and told him it might take a couple of coats.. :s:
big deal! I will let you know what I decide! I love the
sound of deep golden mustard. I am in a yellow loving mood..
must be spring!
HEALTHY: Welcome! Glad you joined us! Everyone is very
helpful here, so I am sure you will love it! Just jump right
in! Good for you in quitting smoking. I quit about 26 years
ago, and never regretted it! I drank gallons of ice tea to
replace the cigarettes, and actually lost weight!
MELF: Hope you are feeling better! Sorry you were sick!
Hope your hand is mending well, too. I guess it was a mixed
blessing, since it kept you away from tempting chocolate
bunnies!
FRUIT: Seventeen pounds in a month is awesome! Way to go!
Tell your other doctor to take a hike! I had a doctor who was
obsessed with my weight once..he was a little wiry thing who
probably never struggled with weight a day in his life! I
changed doctors! The one I have now is great! He is very
helpful, and is working very hard to find what will help me
lose. Thank God he is not one of those who says, well, get
off the couch honey, and eat less! You better feel proud!
And if that specialist is ugly, tell him he is a jerk!
ROSE: Did you by any chance post that bread recipe? I have a
bread maker, and love it! I want to find a recipe that will
come out soft. My family loves the Nature's Own ww, but when
I make it, it is harder, and they only eat it hot out of the
breadmaker! Slathered in butter of course! sigh...
FROG: Try using some white vinegar in warm water on the paper.
It is supposed to help get it off. The paper I am taking off
is weird. If you pull it at the edges, it comes off, but
leaves the pasted backing. This is really easy to take off
then. You just wet it with a sponge, let it soak a minute and
it peels off. When we bought this house, the previous owner
had wallpapered almost every room. Most of it was pretty ugly!
We pulled off the pink stuff in my son's room right away.
(he was 17 at the time) The pasted backing stayed on the
wall, and I let them draw on it. I hate to do anything in
there now. That was six years ago, and all those drawings are
still up there! I wish I could get it off in a way that would
preserve the drawings!
JACK: It is beautiful again today. I had heard we were
supposed to get more rain too. Sorry you are up 1.5. It
must be H2O, so don't worry! Don't you have RA? Does the rain bother it? I have lupus, and my symptoms are very similar to RA. Changes in weather, especially cold, bothers my joints a lot!
RED1: Good to see you back! Hang in there, and you will
start losing again! Exercise will help. I know how you feel
about being tired and not wanting to do it. I used to manage a
Christian bookstore, and was on my feet all day, and walking
or exercise was the LAST thing I wanted to do when I got home.
Amazingly, though, I was pushed into it by my hubby some, and
found the more I did, the more energy I had! It might take a
few days, but if you expend more energy, you get more! Go for
it!
Hope everyone has a great SB day! Congrats to all the losers!

Just a quickie post--
I'm at 166 today. A LOT better than the 170 of yesterday morning. I still feel kind of bloated with TOM, so maybe in a couple of days I'll see another drop on the scale.
It'a a glorious, sunshiny day and I'm going out to enjoy it!
Take care and I'll talk more later.

Real quickie before I rush out to go to work (UGH)
My week off was not as bad as I thought, but "ve been REALLY good since I got back on Sunday! So, no loss, but no gain! 135 this am, which was my original goal (175/135/135). Now I'm workng on getting body fat% to 17 from 21.
Sorry I missed chat (again)- I just seem to loose it by 8:30pm every night, and go into a time fog.
Monet- Yes, I keep SB legal on BFL, not a problem. I have cheated occaisionally on free day, but I really try not to. It's to easy to keep cheating!
Congrats to all the losers, everyone else- well, throw out the Easter candy!

Hi ,
I am off this morning to meet some friends for a birthday lunch. I told you I celebrate for a long time. The day is
windy but pretty and I am looking forward to visiting with these ladies and then doing some shopping.
Red1: It was good to see your post. After all the hard work to lose the weight, maintaining is good.
Gracious: Interesting comment about looking at old photos. Just last night we ran across some old photos and
while at the time I thought I was large, it now looks like I was quite thin. I wonder what was happening inside
myself to make me have that image.
Pooch: A normal loss of two pounds a week sounds like heaven to me who is staying the same. Congrats on doing
so well.
Wishes for a nice day to everyone!
Monet: I just now put the bread recipe on the recipe board. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t turn our the first
time. I overcooked it once and it was dry, undercooked it and it was gooey in the middle. It really does need a pan
for a 1 1/2 loaf of bread or you could use a 1 pound pan and make buns or rolls out of the other. Oh, I do cover the
pan with a shower cap while it is rising the last time and I am very careful when I am taking it off not to puncture
the bread. Let me know how your bread turns out. After the bread cooled some, I wrapped it in foil and I think that
made it softer. Since there are no preservatives, after the first day, I slice it up and freeze it in 2-3 slices in a
package.

WIW
I am waaaay bummed out about WIW. I know most of it must be fluid, but it still doesn't make me feel too good. I'm up 3 lbs from Sunday! I am not happy. :( Didn't some of you say that you tend to gain mid cycle? Or did I dream that??? Just grasping for a reason. I stayed perfectly OP except Sunday when I had a piece of the bunny cake. Well, I'll just have to chug the water and keep on working and try not to get discouraged. Now, to try and reply to some of you….
First of all….
ROSALIE: Thanks for getting things up and running this week.
POOCH: Congratulations on your son's accomplishment! :D
FRUIT: Didja sleep late this morning? With my three, I never get to sleep late. I don't trust them up without me.:s: Glad you got a good report at the dr.
DARAMUS: WTG on 36 lbs. That's awesome.
MELF: Sorry to hear you've been sick. :( Hope you're feeling better and the hand is better too.
HEALTHY: Welcome aboard.
JEANIE: I'm still here! :) Yes, we had a wonderful long weekend. We were off Friday and Monday and I was not ready to come back! We spent Sat. at MIL's for the big egg hunt with our kids and some of the great grandkids. Yes, my kids are the same age as three of the GGK. Early start for her, late start for me. Don't you just love that Johnny's pizza???:T
QUIVONDRA: Don't be too hard on yourself. You're doing great. I know how it is to have skinny in-laws. My youngest SIL was always soooo skinny and I felt like a big blob around her.
ADRONSGIRL: 5 lbs! WTG! Water aerobics sounds like fun. But that would involve a swimsuit, wouldn't it?
KIMMY: Love the pictures.
ZANNE: Hope you're feeling better and the hormones aren't raging today.
BKM: Glad to hear the surgery went well. Hope recovery time is short and successful.
OK. I've tried to reply to as many of you as I could. Being a little ADD myself, I have trouble staying with it too long. Hope y'all have a good day.

OK--We pay for our sins. I'm up 2 lbs today back to 237. Ick. Some of it is water because I am retaining (rings are tight) so I will be pushing the water. I'm back on track eating wise though--so it should come back down quickly.
The board was busy yesterday and I won't have time to respond to everyone (I know I know I say that everyday). I just want to let Daramus know that I'm thrilled your Dr visit went well! I'm especially glad the hear that the blood sugar is in a healthy range.
Quivondra--let me second the thoughts of all the folks dealing with your boyfriend's mother. I felt that way about my SIL when I first met her. She is tiny and NEVER gains weight--even after two kids. Over the years we have grown to be good friends--even shopping together. It is as hard for her to find clothes that fit as it was for me when I was at my heaviest! Strangely enough that was one thing that helped us to bond. Give her a chance--you might be surprised.
Wednesday Whine--Why Why WHY do we have to put up with the stupid water weight gain every month? Just when you are going good and the scale is moving steadily you have to put up with your body going crazy for a week. I will deal with that next week--so as soon as the Easter weight goes back to normal it will shoot up AGAIN. AARRGGHHH
Thank you, I feel much better for having gotten that off my chest.
Have a good day everyone
Congrats to all the losers!!!!!!

I just realized with the two pounds down this morning, I have hit the 20 pound mark! This is awesome! I am really excited. After four years of low carb, and frustration piled on top of frustration with no weight loss, and my thyroid being a bum, I can't believe I have actually lost 20 pounds! I thought I would never lose anything!
On to the next twenty.....

Well I'm holding at my current weight the last couple days, but I know that will change soon for the better! Besides, I'm feeling good, and I know that is the most important thing. I'm planning to go bike riding later and spend some time in the spa. I hope I have some good news to report by the time the next WIW is here.
melris: Sounds like you are really getting into good shape. Right now all I do is cardio, but I may start some weight training once I get back into a "routine" with my cardio. I can only really focus on a few things at once. If I try to juggle too many things NONE of them will get done to my satisfaction in the long run. So once what I'm doing now becomes second nature, then I will move on the new things. I am a little nervous about SB baked goods. So far I have managed to avoid all temptation since I have nothing like that on hand and available to me. But now that I have some agave and started finding recipes!! oh no! :) But I am going to start off slow and I'm sure my interest in baking will subside once I ruin.... err I mean make a few things. lol :dizzy: <---- me in the kitchen!
Frog Lover: It was nice chatting with you last night. I really had fun. :)
gracious: Good luck on WIF and I'm sure you'll do just fine. I cant wait to see my blood results. I am very curious to say the least!
Monet 320: I tried some no-fat cream cheese once, and I ended up throwing it all away. Horrible! I think I will find a good balance since most of the low-fat stuff is tolerable. I tried some no-fat ceddar cheese once, too, and that is an experience I'd rather not repeat also. Once I refine my diet and find some products/brands that I enjoy, things will be so much easier for me. As far as doctor visists... well, I normally don't look forward to going, but I think I would if I had that little hug and kiss thing going on. Maybe I need to find a female doctor, so I can try that out? :D All kidding aside, it sounds like you have a great doctor there.
AdronsGirl: Had a great time chatting with you last night. Look forward to chatting again!

Good Morning everyone. Well I'm down 1b. today. Was really hopeing for more but think I need to exersise more. I'm just not moving enough even though I'm eating right. Theres been big excitement in our little town today. A fire is going and has burned two buildings and a house and damaged other businesses. I live in a tiny rural town so this is awful for them.
Daramus-If you're feeling good then you sure must be on the right track and I'm sure the scale will show it next week.. Good for you. Wish I was that active.
Bob-Sure ya should go to the chicken contest.. Be a winner....
Monet-Great big congradulations gal.... 20 lbs. is a real mark!!!!
Fillise-You'll get it off this week and do good next weigh in. That water gain is a real pain....
Music Teach- You'll probably have a great loss next week...
Yellowrose-Hope your birthday lunch is great. Can't wait to try your bread....
Pooch-Wow two lbs. is great. Maybe the little cheat was good for you.....Sounds like you're really busy with the kids...
Red1- Hi what part of Calif. are you from. I was born and raised in Southern Cal. but now live in MO. Sounds like you're hanging in there with the weight loss.
Jack-K- Ok just try harder next round. Some weeks are just a bummer for weight loss....
Sorry if I missed anyone.. Oh yea welcome HealthyGirl this is a great board. Just take each hour at a time and you'll get it...

Just checking in to try tokeep up with the posts.
YellowRose, I can smell the bread from here. I don't have much luck making bread. It turns out too hard and not a good texture. I have given up on it. I do make my pizza dough though. Enjoy yur Birthday lunch
Frog, thanks for the update on Deb. Enjoyed the chat last nite. WTG on the 1#.
Fruit, 3.5! that's great. I love those weeks when big numbers show up. Makes you realize its worth it.
Red1, Hi welcome back.
Gracious, OK we will wait til WIF.
Pooch, WTG on passing up the fudge sundae. Icecream is my downfall. Glad you had a great day at BG with your kids. Congrats on the 2# loss. I usually loose 2# also. but not this week. Get them next week.
Kimmy, we missed you on the chat. Just checked out the pics, Loved the fashion show. WOW you look great for having 5 kids. I'm Jealous.
Monet, WTG Girlfriend on 2# loss. Makes you feel so good doesn't it. I'm jealous of your pool. My kinds have always wanted one, by DH says no, too much work. We have a couple of friends with pools, so that keeps us pretty content.
Go for the navy paint. My lR is a taupe, my br a dark purple, attached bath, dark green. My DR dark yellow and my girls bath is a dark peacock blue. WILD! Yes I have RA, but weather doesn't seem to bother me. Is your Lupus under control pretty much? WTG on the 20#. ANything is possible.
Zanne, Down 4, WTG
Music Teach, Yes, I gain the week BEFORE my TOM.(That's my story and I'm sticking to it, LOL)
Filsie, Join the crowd, TOM gain. Hopefully it will go down soon. Hang in there.

Congrats to all you losers today!! ;) And those who didn't lose, keep on hanging in there, cause it WILL happen with persistence & determination with this WOE.
I'm down to a solid 134 this morning. Now if I can just keep it going in a downward position:dizzy: I jsut need to start exercising again.
Just did a real quick glance at the posts since last night & wanted to say thanks for all the well wishes & the welcome back. Noticed alot of new names. WELCOME to all of you too!
I had company this morning. My younger sis came by & we went through my closet & took out ALL that clothes that has been hanging in there that were of no use to me now & didn't want to keep any of it a minute longer. She went home with a pile of dress & everyday wear that she was happy with & I got room in my closet to go shopping :D
So where is Debbie off to??? Is she on vacation??? Sorry I forgot all about chat last night. I was sitting right here, too! Well, maybe next week I'll remember. Got to run...

Well, I'm back, sort of. Actually I've been lurking for a few days but haven't had the time or energy to post. Looks like the board has been very busy, as usual.
My shoulder surgery went fine. They ended up doing more than they had originally thought, but the doctor was pleased with the outcome. Since I was prepared for the nausea this time with medication, it wasn't nearly as bad as it was previously. I do feel like I need to get sent to Debbie's detox dungeon, though. As much as you tell yourself it's not the right reason, I am still a stress eater. I'm making progress, but it's hard. I do feel like I'm back on track today, though.
Yesterday was my first day back at work. I'm less than 10 minutes away from my office and I get hit from behind by another car. It could have been a lot worse than it was and the girl did have insurance. Then yesterday afternoon, the school called (for those of you that do not have school age children, let me tell you this is never a good thing. They are never calling to tell you what little darlings your children are). It turns out that my 10 year old came in contact with a dead bat. For those of you not up on your bat facts, they are a huge carrier of rabies. We have a lot of bats in Central Texas and the majority of them do in fact die from rabies. We are anxiously awaiting the test results from the Health Department to find out if we're looking at having to take the shots or not. Keep your fingers crossed, say a little prayer, or all of the above.
The moral to this story is never ask yourself what else can go wrong.
I'll try to catch up later, when I'm not full of doom and gloom. Thanks for all your good thoughts everyone.

HiedieHo All!!
I'm not cpmplaining mind you, just don't believe it! The one eyed monste said down 8#!!! Now I didn't weigh in last week, as I've been discouraged aboout my "stagnation" of late. I don't feel 8# down. Next week will verify the truth I guess.
Did not go to do my choir librarian work this morning. I have a headache and my stomach is iffy. I hope it's just orneriness coming out and not coming down with something. I'm not even going to gym!
FRUIT - WTG on lost #s
DARAMUS - Hey we're all proud of you! Great loss!
HEALTHY - Welcome
FROG - White vinegar and water makes the job a snap. I removed all the wallpaper here when we moved in. I had struggled until my DD told me about vinegar!
BOB - GO! GO! GO!
TRISH - Hope tests are negative, scary time!
Take care all. By the time I read everything my head is pounding again! I hardly ever get real headaches anymore. Was just bragging about that the other day! Shouldn't have done it!

Feeling a bit better today. You guys are so supportive!! Thanks so much for all the kind words. My day is a little bit brighter because of it. :^:
Didn't hit the scale this week because I think I have some water weight on my own. Are we all on the same cycle? I didn't know you could get on someone elses cycle through the computer dz:
I'm not going to the gym tonight. I'm going home and cooking a nice meal and planting some bulbs. I need some time for myself so that's what I'm going to do. It's amazing how time flies by living in new york. Sometimes I'm not home until 9:30 because of going to the gym! Anyway, thanks again for all the support. I think I might do the WIF as well! :D
Melf-Spring cleaning is the best!! How good does it feel to get rid of clothes that are simply too big? For me it's usually the other way around, getting rid of small clothing that I'll simply never fit into. :jig:
Toni48- 1lb isn't nothing. It's great that you lost this week. Keep up the exercising and you'll be down more next week. :sheep: Sorry to hear about the fire. I totally understand, living in Manhattan and all. It's amazing how the burning of buildings can affect the economy of a town, or city. I'm sure those people are going to need a lot of support to get through that.
Daramus-looks like we're in the same boat. Feeling like I didn't lose this week, but my body feels so much better now that I'm eating the SB way. I have energy. I never used to have that before!! I'm a sleeper and now I wake up before the alarm goes off! Enjoy the bikeriding and the spa..you deserve it.
BOB- you know the answer to that question. Of course!! Even if you don't win, you'll come home with some amazing recipes. And you'll meet all sorts of interesting people. If I knew what to do with chicken, I would go.
Monet- You are inspiring me this very second. 20lbs is great. You have the willpower to lose the next twenty if you did low carb for 4 years. I believe in you! Thanks for motivation. You're right. My boyfriend does like it that I'm curvy and he thinks his mother is too skinny. I shouldn't beat myself up so much. It's hard when you grow up being constantly reminded that you need to lose weight.
Fillise-Thanks for the advice! As for the water weight, I'm feeling that too. That might be part of the reason I was down yesterday. Next week, there is always next week...
Music Teach- Strange that we're all dealing with water weight. I hereby declare friday as a re-do for WIW!! Thanks for the words of support. I needed a booster.
Zanne- Again, water weight...ugh
Gracious- I'm feeling you with the WIF. I might join in! Thanks for your words..they lifted me up!
Frog Lover-I think I'm going to buy a sarong.
HealthyGirl- The first few days are really rough...but you'll get past it. I'm only on my 2nd week and I feel great!! After the first two days it feels pretty natural. Good luck!!
Jack-K- You're right. The most important thing is that I FEEL better. And I really do. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and nothing can go wrong. At the very least I'll be as thin as I was the last time I had to wear a swimsuit. Well, in public anyway.
The Quilter- Thanks for sharing. You're right too. I look back at photos when I was younger and I thought I was fat. I looked amazing!! I should just look forward to the vacation.
Meliris- I'm so impressed with you. BFL seems like a great program.
CountryMom-I know the lazy feeling. A pile of dirty laundry or an exciting episode of Jerry Springer?!?! Ok so that might not be a good example, but I'd take lounging watching the Price is Right over doing housework. Fortunately I don't have that option since I work. Otherwise I'd be bidding on sofas and pogo sticks in hopes of getting to play plinko. :p
Whew!! That's a lot of people to address, and I even missed some I'm sure!!
Thanks again to everyone's words of support and good luck to those are going to do WIF!!

Great news Trish!!!! I love the name Seth!! Thank goodness he did not have to get any of those nasty shots!! Remember the man who bit off the head of a bat......he must have regreated that move getting all those needles!
Did someone mention WW...water weight...I hate that! I actualy had gained a pound over night. Part of my problem is I am totally addicted to the dumb scale.
As for looking back at photos....for me, I still think I liik fat. but my cousin, who to me has always been heavy, I look back at her and think....WOW...she wasn't heavy. Maybe it is because she is so heavy now. Same w/ my dad. He quit smoking about 15 years ago and when my son (2 at the time) had a b-day party, my dad got him a pool and got in it w/ him. I have photos of that. When I first got them back, I thought..OH MY!!! He looked so BIG....well...that was about 50 pounds ago. I see those photos now and think...wow...look how good he looked. My dad waas always a bone until he quit smoking...he used to weigh about 160. Well, he now is in the range of 240...and he has shrunk about 2 inches. Must be gravity;)
Gotta run...we have church tonight and I have to teach the little ones!:dizzy: :dizzy:

Hi
Just checking in for WIW. I am down half a pound to-day - still four up from my lowest. I am trying to stay op but been having a tough time with the legal snacks and dessert - in particular the cheese cake and now the oat bran pretzels which I have just opened and can't keep my hands out of the package. I guess they will have to be an occasional treat.
I was at work to-day and didn't have time to read all the posts. Hope to be able to catch up with reading when I come back from badminton tonite. I'll be heading out right after supper.
Melf - Good to see you posting again. Sorry to hear about the problem you are having with your hand. Hope it is better soon.
Congrats to all the losers this week.
Gotta run.

The delayed birthday lunch was so nice. We had a little trouble talking ,at one point because a little one at the table
next to us was very unhappy. I felt sorry for the mother because she was trying to appease the baby, visit with her
friends and eat some lunch. When she left, she apologized to us although she didn’t need to do that, it was sweet.
We really did get in a lot of talking and laughs. I then spent several hours shopping. I haven’t just wandered
around a shopping mall for no reason in some time. I must get out more. HA!
Music Teach: I do believe our fearless leader is the one I remember saying that she gains in mid-cycle. So, you
are in good company.
Monet: I am raising my glass (water , of course) to the next 20!
BOB: I definitely think you should enter the contest for best chicken recipe. Your other recipes are good also. I
am still delighting myself and friends with your suggestion to roast veggies. It makes a dinner so easy. Thanks!
Toni: Let me know if you like the bread.
Jack-K: The first few loaves of bread I tried to make using SGWWF, were like a brick, so, I was happy when I
found this recipe. The bread machine does all the hard part and I just knead it about 50 times and put it in an oiled
pan. I think it helps to cover it with foil after it cools a few hours to keep it moist.
Melf: I believe that lucky Deb is in Hendersonville, NC. I bet it is pretty there with the spring just beginning to
show up.
Sef: Believe it girl and congratulations!
Trishaloo: I am so glad you and your little one got a break on the negative results. Now, tell us more about your
shoulder.
Rosalie: Sometimes I think my weight loss went better when I had not discovered the legal treats that I thought
was going to make my life better.
Bye for now.

SEF, So sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I can relate! Hope you're back up to par soon.
Quivondra It felt really GOOD to get rid of those clothes. You know, I use to think the same way, that I'd NEVER get back into certain clothes, but you know what?? Our negative ways of thinking often prevent us from reaching our goals. I remember a year ago right here on this board I said I'd never fit into a size 10, but I'm not wearing an 8, so never say never! :)
Trishaloo, Glad to hear that Seth didn't need those shots.
Kimmythekid, Got a chance to check out the picture board & girl!!! You're looking great. Funny how we don't see our true self sometimes till we look back, huh? Keep up the great work!
ROSALIE, Thanks for the welcome back! I sure have missed being here & have really missed you too. Saw the pictures you posted of your trip to FLA. I Hope you had a good trip. Looked like you all had a great get together. You're so lucky to have met Debbie. I hope I get to meet her someday too. Sounds like you're still very active with badminton & such. I have gotten completely too lacked with exercising. No one to blame but myself!

Only have a few minutes to post, gotta pack for my visit with DEB!
So many of you have wallpaper advice. I've tried them all! I've even tried the fabric softener and water solution. I am going to rent a professional steamer this weekend after I get back from seeing Deb. I am also going to scrape the sprayed on popcorn ceiling back down to the plaster. Anyone have tips for that? :?:
BIG news for me :strong: ! I leg pressed my old weight this morning! I pressed 200 pounds on the quadricep press this morning! WOO HOO! :smug:
I would like to add to those of you who are fighting the sugar demons  that you are making yourself weaker physically. I had a hard time staying out of the community candy dish at work 2 weeks ago. One week later, only a few days after eliminating almost all the sugar, I have noticed a BIG difference in my endurance. Remember that you are weaker than you think when you eat that sugar, and not just your will power!
Congrats to all you losers!
Have really been considering selling Southern Living at Home. It's a home sells company (ala Tupperware style) with the Southern Living name and products. They are realtively new on the scene and really unheard of in my area. I LOVE the merchandise and have always wanted to get involved in something like this but am not a Tupperware kinda girl, don't wanna cook in someone else's kitchen (Pampered Chef) or smell that candle scent in my car all the time because it gives me a migraine (so Party Light is out) and I already own enough jewelry. This just seemed like the thing for me! Have any of you heard of this? Would love to hear your thoughts on this. Of course it goes without saying that IF I do decide to become a consultant, I will be happy to come to your area to do a show. :)
Time to jet! Hope you all have a great weekend. Wil try to post after my visit with Deb. Will be sure to tell what you all are up to!

Hey everyone!
Just a quick post - hope you all had a good day!
What do y'all think of this idea???
I'm letting my hair grow out until I reach my goal weight. I'm going to get my monthly trims but I'm going to let it grow until I reach my goal - then I'm going to get a makeover! Cut the hair all off - that way I'll have a whole new look! Let me know your thoughts!
FROG: I saw the Southern Living at home deal at a bridal show that I went to with a friend. Looks really neat - would you come all the way to S. LA for a show?!?! HAHA!
TRISH: I'm happy that Seth was ok - that would have been terrible if he would have had to go through all of that stuff! Also, glad your surgery went well...we were all thinking of you!
BOB: How bout we all come up with a recipe and we share the money? I love chicken too - I eat it everywhere we go. My sister always teases me and tells me that one day I'm gonna wake up with feathers coming out of my butt!
ROSALIE: At least the snacks you are eating are legal girl!! You could be dipping into some no no foods! Don't worry about those extra pounds - they will come off soon enough! Keep up the good work!
YELLOW: Glad to hear you had a nice lunch eventhough you had a crier next to you! Sometimes that can be such a pain - but it can't be helped!!
QUIVONDRA: Glad to hear you are feeling a little better today. I think we may all be on the same cycle - you know what they say - people who hang out together start doing many of the same things and even get on the same cycles!!
SEF: 8 Pounds!!! WOOOOOO HOOOOOO! That is fabulous!! Keep doing whatever it is you are doing! I'm sure next weeks weigh in will confirm that you are doing a great job!! Keep it up!
MELF: Glad to see you are doing a fabulous job maintaining - I am so proud of you! Hopefully one day I can do the same.
DARAMUS: Did you do the bike ride/spa thing today - that sounds so relaxing! I'm sure WIW will be good for you next week! Keep it up!
TONI: Congrats on the loss. I know all too well about the small town thing - when something happens like that fire here - everyone knows, everyone helps out, etc. I'll be sure to keep them in my thoughts... keep us posted.
MONET: Great job on the loss - I too am jealous of the pool. We have cleared trees and have a liner but haven't put the pool in yet. We are getting an above ground pool that my MIL has in her yard and doesn't want anymore. But, we need to do our floors first! It is a good size 12 x 32 oval shaped. But, lord knows when we'll get it here!
KIMMY: I had to laugh when I read your post about the old pictures. This weekend we were at my dad's and he has just put tons of pics in photo albums. Well, all of the pics of me when I was skinny were in there. My niece that is 6 says - "Aunt Missy - you looked MUCH better then!" HAHA! I liked to die - it was too funny!! I need to plaster those pics on my fridge!
OK - Sorry to those I missed but I've got to run! Y'all have a great evening!

Good evening all! My head is about to fall of this evening so this is gonna be a short post. I did read all the post and as always a blessing.
This week I am down one pound. I can't wait to get under 150 I think I'm gonna treat myself to something special. At 152 now...a new low since starting SB *smile*
WTG Monet on your 20 mark. Trish..I think..I am so glad your little boy doesn't have to take shots. Bats are so yucky...I know most are harmless but ugh...they fly around my pond at night eating the bugs. Please forgive me ya'll I truly read but didn't take notes because of this head. Congratulations on pounds loss, and sticking to plan....and for those getting back on plan. It's all in the trying. Welcome HealthyGirl.

Stayed the same at 164. The way I have been bouncing up and down the scales the last month, that's amazing to me.
Have a great day tomorrow everybody. It's late and way past my bedtime. I hope to reply to y'all tomorrow.

Go Morning to All,
Didn't get to check the messages last nite so had to read quickly this a.m.
Bob, go for the chicken contest. BTW, you need to take my daughter. All she will eat is chicken. Drives my crazy, especially since I'm not a big fan.
Melf, Isn't it a good feeling to clean out that closet. Ihave 3 boxes of "FAT" clothes. The only problem, now the closet is pretty much empty. I don't want to buy any clothes because I keep going down. I go and buy the cheapest black and blue pants I can find to get me thru.
Trish, glad your surgery went well. How horrible about your wreck. Even though it not your fault and they girl had insurance, it is still a hassle. Good luck. What a horrible experience for yuor son. So glad your son didn't need shot.
Sef, WTG 8#. Hope you are feeling better today.
Rosalie, Congrates on 1.5#'s. Every little bit counts.
Yellowrose, Is your bread recipe on the recipe board?
Frog, I saw the Southern Living merchandise at a bridal show with my daughter. They have some nice stuff. Go for it. WTG on pressing your weight. I just increased the amount I was using for upper body. I'm struggling, but the lesser wt seems like nothing now. Have a ncie visit with Deb.
Fruit, I say go for it. Nothing better than a total make-over to make you feel like a new person.
Country, hope you are feeling better today. WTG on the 1#.
Hope I didn't miss anyone, If I did, sorry. Hope everyone has a good Thursday. Check in later.

Today is a going to be a beautiful day again here in the desert. This truely is the best times of the year. We ussually have more wildflowers but this year the rain was very low. We are way below our average.
It is going to be tough to work today. We are leaving later this afternoon to visit our son and Daughter in law. It will be a long drive. They live in Eureka CA which is about 10 hour away. We will probably split the trip up. I can't wait to see them. They just got married in Feb and then moved. We are now an empty nest. Not sure yet if I like that. It is growning on me though.
Fruitloupe - I think you should go for it. Change is always good. I like to change my hair style often. It always grows back and then you can do it again. I don't know if you set mini goals but maybe if you did you could have it restyled each time.
Frog Lover - The Southernliving sounds very interesting. Do they have a web site? I'd ask you to come to my home to give a show but would you come to California???? My daughter has just started a business out of her home where she assembles poeples scapbooks. She takes your pictures and puts it all together with all the fun papers and stickers. She has a gift for that type of thing. I go for it!!! BTW great on your leg press goal :)
Rosalie - What are oat bran pretzels? Where did you get them? I love pretzels and hated to have to give them up. Do they taste good? Please give me more information.
Kimmythekid - I was looking at your pictures. You should be very proud of yourself. Your home looks very nice too. I love your fireplace. Keep up the good work.
Sef - Hope you are feeling better. I can relate to the pounding headache. I have one today an hope that it goes away soon.
Trishaloo - Great to hear that the tests were negative. Hope you are feeling better after the rearend accident. I had one of those accidents once. Not fun. Take care.
Toni48 - I live in Ridgecrest which is about 180 miles from Los Angeles. Where were you raised? I like where we live in the desert. It is a quiet place. We are pretty centrally located. The mountains are an hour away, death valley is 2 hours, the closest shopping, which is in Lancaster is 1 1/2 hours. Most are easy 1 day trips. How long have you been away from CA? Have a great day.
Got to run. I'll try to get on line at my sons house. If not you all have a great weekend and I'll talk when I get back next week.

Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful day here today because it actually stopped raining! I haven't been exercising for the past few days though, I have been so busy..using that poor excuse again. I did go shopping again the other night and got myself yet another dress, 2 new skirts and 2 tops and once again I am sporting more size 10's! I am looking for shoes still and some casual wear. Hubby's generousity has come to an end though because I spent twice the amount he told me to. :s: With all the talk on the board about cleaning out our closets I think I have to do that too. I am swimming in practically everything and should really pass it on.
TRISH- So pleased to hear Seth didn't have to get those shots, that would have been terrible. Glad your surgery went well but too bad you got rear ended. You seemed to go from good to bad to good that day! Hope all remains good for you now.
JRED- I often do that too. I have no idea why and it gets rather frustrating. I was doing that for 2 months while on Atkins. I switched to SB and lost 6 lbs but have remained the same, with the bounce, ever since. Rather bothersome, I must say, so I sympathize with you!
SEF- Excellent loss, keep up the good work!
MONET- Way to go, woman! I am so sincerely happy for you. I know how you have struggled and how you were getting worried there for awhile after the switch to SB. But it came through for you!
ROSALIE- These pretzels you mention...as a fellow Canadian..what are they and where are they available? Or did you get them while in the usa? Please let me know :)
Gotta go..baby is here.

Good morning....I think. I am SO UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:( :(
Here is the deal...
My kids, whom go to a Christian school, have chapel every week. Well, in the beginning of the year, they were told that Rodger, from SURVIVOR, was coming in the spring! I was SO excited...because I loved him!!!
Well...no news until I was leaving for church last night and got a call.......Rodger is there right now as I am typing this. I could not get a babysitter that fast:( :( :( ....
I guess they sorta kept it a secret so all the parents that are totally adicted To Survivor would not show up. My kids did not even know.
All year long I have said I was going to get a sitter and go..........boo hoo!!!!
Oh well. Rodger is a Christian and is going there...or is there...talking about his walk in Christ. When I dropped them off I told them to hang on to every word for me!!!!
OK...now I feel better.......not really, but seeing as my 2 favorite shows are on tonight, I think I will be ok!
I was able to do a whole 10 minutes on my bike yesterday....which is big for me! I also did 64 sit-ups! My abs actually feel stronger!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
In Him,
Kimmy

Ok, I am posting again. My last one was to whine. Not this one!:)
Gracious....
WTG on the 10's!!! It feels so good to reward your hard work w/ a few new items. I bet your DH is proud of you too and that is why he probably did not mind if you over spent! How is the "new" baby? Is she good? How has her brother adjusted?
Mary...
Thank you for the kind words! It does feel good to be able to put on the older pants and see the difference! I hope you are feeling better!
Frog.....
Southern Living @ Home is an awesome idea!!!!!!! I have a neighbor that does that and the stuff is really neat!!!! All the other stuff you mentioned are so popular...this is nice because it is not everywhere yet! Good luck!
Missy....
Don't you just love a childs honesty....NOT!!! Too funny. I used to have a photo of myself after I graduated from college (after 3 kids) and I was slim. I had been working our and got pretty slim. I would hang that photo up...but I hate to look at myself, so I took it down. For some people, it works! Sounds like you are doing good!!
Crystle...
WTG on the pound! I am sure you will be under 150 in no time! Keep up the hard work!
Are you sick? I may have missed something. I thought I read all the posts.....but w/ the kids running around, maybe I missed something.
Cyndi...
Thank you as well for the kind words. I do like my fireplace! I actually just added some things last week and I am very pleased w/ it. I have a beautiful picture by Thomas Kinkade hanging above...a house warming gift from my mommy.
I hope you have a safe trip to see you DS. Empty nesting can take a bit to get used to I am told. I am a long way from there, but sometimes look forward to that day;) .
Everyone else...have a good day!

Good Morning everyone!!! Its brrrr 22 degrees here. A friend and I are supposed to walk together today. I hope we still can without wearing a down coat or something....I'm rereading my SB book again more carefully this time so I can understand it better. I can't believe how much I LOVE this WOE! I don't miss sweets but I think whats helping is I'm not eating or making anything that resembles a dessert. I haven't been able to get Agave yet and maybe thats a good thing. Theres so many delicious recipes to try. You all are great and imaginative cooks......
Kimmythekid-Hello to you and hope today is a good day for you.
Wow how cool for Rodger to come to the school!!! Oh no I can't believe you're missing him. BOO HOO is right... Its so nice of him to give a talk. Maybe they'll take lots of pictures. You must watch Survivor and CSI. LOL those are my favorite shows! You did great with your exercise yesterday. Wow 64 sit-ups. That would be a real mircle for me.
Gracious-Oh I'll bet that feels so good to buy some new clothes in such a nice size. Yoo Hoo on size 10!!! Oh the day I'm swimming in my clothes and not having to chose between yuck and doo doo to wear!!!!
Red1- I just love the smell of spring here. The air is so clean and beautiful. I'll bet its wonderful in the desert. I would love to be at my MIL's place in 29 Palms right now. Hope you have a wonderful time at your daughter's. You're out by China lake aren't you. I was raised in Anaheim. I miss Calif. at times. And expecially the weather.
Jack-K- Good morning
j red- You're doing so good, sometimes holding steady is great..... I admire your weight loss.
CountryMom4Him-Good for you on losing the lb. You're doing wonderful and ought to be so proud.
Fruit-Oh I love the idea of letting your hair grow till your goal weight. That sounds like so much fun!!!! Be sure and take pictures!!!!
Frog Lover-Hope you have a great visit with Deb... Wow you rock girl on those leg presses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I've never heard of Southern Living at Home. But good luck if you deciede to do it. It would be fun to start something new.
Yellowrose-Sounds like your lunch was fun and a shopping trip too!!! Did you post the recipe for the bread? I looked last night and couldn't find it. I have a bread maker and would love to try it.
BusDeb- Hope you're feeling better.
Rosalie-Good for you 1/2 lb. is good. You're going to right way!!!
Trishloo- I'm so glad for your Seth..... Thank goodness he didn't haven't to have those shots.

My boss is already driving me NUTS!!! It's hard working for people who just have no idea what it's like in the trenches. They have the most ridiculous requests and then boast in a meeting about their fabulous ideas. Ugh.
Feeling a little slimmer today...I'm avoiding the scale at all costs until WIF. I think some of you might be joining me no? I should never have bought that scale! I weigh myself every 3 seconds.
Bright and sunny day, will try to take a nice walk outside.
Someone asked me last week about the Newman's Own sugar free dressing..its Parisienne Dijon Lime or something. Pretty good stuff.
Last night I toasted my whole wheat pita and made chips out of them. Tasty. Well, they weren't potato chips but it was still alright. Slapped some hot pepper hummus on those babies and I was set to go.
Gotta run, the boss is lurking and ready to give me another HAIR-raising task.

Hi all:
I just wanted to introduce myself - a newbie - from Florida.
I went to the doctor on Monday and he told me I had no choice but to follow Sugar Busters WOE, turn this life around through being healthy and losing weight, or end up with a serious kidney disease and diabetes. Scared me straight!
So, glad to see there is a support group to belong to! I am just starting to read all your posts and try and follow a long and learn about how things work....
Today's my first day eating by the book to get myself on the right track!
Mel

Good morning everybody- I'm supposed to be working from home today, but obviously I'm slacking and am on the wrong web-site! No boss to notice, tho:devil: .
Tranquil- Welcome. I can relate, I was scared onto this WOE out of fear of diabetes, too. Good doc to suggest this rather than just medicate! You'll find lots of support here. A great place to be!
Frog- congrats on the leg press. I agree about the sugar making us weaker. I took a rest week last week and was real good until Sunday when the goodies at the lacrosse tailgate party sabotaged me. This week, I can mostly make the same weight as before, but I'm exhausted to a zombie state for the rest of the day. It really sapped my endurance. I've never seen the Southern Living at Home stuff, but it sounds fun. Can you do an on-line show for us?
Trish- So glad Seth doesn't need the shots; had a friend who went thru then 20 years ago, and they were terrible. Sounds like you've had your 3 unlucky events for the month, hope your life is duller for a few weeks:)
Kimmy- Your pictures do look great! I have a picture I took a couple of weeks ago of me in last summer's shorts (size 16). When I look at it, I realize there really is a difference in how I look (size 6 now), because in my head I'm still fat. Wonder how long that takes to change....
Fruit- I like your hair idea, but reward yourself for mini-goals too. Who knows, maybe you'll like your hair long! I did the opposite, tho. As my face thinned out I felt more comfortable going shorter and shorter.
Gracious- Glad you are getting to see the sun today.
Gotta go and do some actual work,
mel

Hi everybody!
I did my walk at the mall with my friend this morning. Both girls are off doing something and I have the house to myself. I think I will take a nap!
I just posted a recipe for Jamaican Beef Patties on the recipe board, if anyone is interested. They are spicy, but if you don't like too much spicyness, you can tone it down and use less peppers.
I will have to come back later and reply to everyone. Naptime!

Hey everyone, I decided to try to answer some posts this morning, & here it is afternoon already! I'm working a 12 hr shift tomorrow, so thought it best to try to stay caught up or else I'll end up MIA again :D
YellowRose, Thanks for answering my question as to Debbie's where abouts! Yes, I'm sure it must be nice this time of year. Sounds like you really enjoyed your birthday outing. Sorry I missed your birthday, so Happy Belated Birthday!!!
FROG, Sounds like you have quiet a job going there with the wallpaper. Don't envy you a bit...LOL
fruitloupe, Getting a totally new look & makeover after reaching goal is a great idea. Hey, how far are you from Baton Rouge? I'm about 90 minutes away. It would be great to meet you & SEF there one day for lunch. Think about it!
SEF, See my note to Fruit above? We've talked about this before. Why don't we make it a reality? This time of year would be great!
CountryMom4Him, I remember being at the same point you are now. My goal last May was to be at or below 150 by vacation. I missed it by 1 lb, but it finally came. Hang in there & it will happen for you too! Just checked out your homepage & love it, especially your personal pages!
j red, I can relate with the bouncing back & forth. I've been loosing & gaining the same 3 lbs for over a month now & I'm REALLY getting tired of it!
Bob, Chicken cooking contest??? Sounds great to me. I know how you LOVE chicken;)
Jack-K, I agree, it's best to hold out for that new clothes till you're where you want to be. I didn't buy too much either till I reached goal, but now that I'm there! ;)
Red1, Hope you have a nice visit with ds & dil. It did not take me long to adjust to our empty nest. I miss the girls at times, but I LOVE my space.
Kimmythekid, Sorry to hear that you have missed the chance to hear Rodger. Personally, I'm not a fan of Survivor but I know a lot of people are. Sounds like a talk that would definitely be of interest, however. Hey, we all need to whine once in a while, just so we can get it out our system :D
Toni48, 22 degrees??? BRRRRRR is right. Should make for a swift walk!
Quivondra, WW Pita chips & Roasted Bell Pepper Hummus, yum yum! Better than potatoe chips any day!
Tranquil, Girl, this is a great support group & you'll learn all you need to know about this WOE. WELCOME!! So are you having problems with Diabetes now?? I use every chance I get to influence better eating habits to my diabetic patients at the hospital. Although I can't come right out & tell them that they should do SB, I do try to educate them on the high sugar foods, etc & making wise choices in their diet. It has definitely become more than a WOE with me & others here. It's also a way of life!
Meliris Sounds like you NEEDED a break from work...lol Read that you're doing BFL! Sounds like you're doing well with it. I really need to get into some type of exercising cause I have lots of flabby skin & poor muscle tone in lots of places now.
Well, got to go grocery shopping. I need a few things to get ready for our Sunday night fellowship. The theme is International Foods, so I'm planning to do a variety of things, like Tabbouli, hummus, spinach greek pie, all SB legal stuff. Also, my gs is here wanting my space at the computer to play a game, so will check in later. Bye

I got the formula!!
BMR
Multiply your weight in pounds by 4.4
Then Multiply you height in inches by 4.3
Add this number to the previous sum
Then Add 655 to sum above
Finally, multiply 4.7 by your age and subtract this number from the previous sum.
Multiply this number by 1.3
This number is your caloric needs for the day without strenuous excercise.
I have to run...but I can clarify if this is too confusing.

Thanks Quivondra. I found one that Debbie had given me which was this : Take your body weight and multiply it by 12 then subtract 500 for weight loss. Me at 230 would take in 2363 according to your formula and 2260 according to Debbies. Anyone else have any input on this ? Thanks! Liz

Ok, I'm so far behind in responding to all the posts, I've just decided to start fresh.
Thanks for all the well wishes and good thoughts for Seth. It was quite a scare for everyone and we're really thankful it turned out the way it did.
The shoulder is doing much better. I start back to physical therapy today. Nothing like paying someone to torture you. It really does help, though.
I'm eating much better again (as I sit here eating my taco salad, no guacamole, no shell, no chips) and drinking my water. Can I come out of dungeon?
Is there anyone here that is in the Norfolk, VA area? My oldest son, the one that wants to join the Marines, has an opportunity to go to a Sea Cadet Amphibious Operations training camp this summer. It's a long way from Texas, but he really wants to go. Oh, Pooch, he got an opportunity to meet the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps last night at a Navy League dinner. I've never seen such primping while he was getting ready.
Frog-I have to ask, you "dreamed you had a colonoscopy"?? I've heard of some weird dreams but that one may take the cake.
BOB-Way to go on the no-smoking anniversary. That's one thing I've never had to go through but from what I understand, it is major accomplishment. Congrats!
Monet-Go for the color, girl, on the walls!
Jack-K- Would you post the jello salad recipe you made? I'm one of those weird throwbacks that just loves those. I hate April Fools jokes, too. By the way, when does Daylight Savings Time start?
Healthygirl-Welcome. This is a great support board. Everyone is very nice and helpful (unlike other boards that will remain nameless).
I know I missed a lot of you. Sorry, I promise I'll do better.
Have a great day.

Melf: I don't have diabetes "yet" - it won't be long on the road I am traveling!!! I have some kidney problems, and the doctor thinks that if I don't turn this all around not only will I be seriously suffering from kidney disease, I will have diabetes along with it....
Scary!
Doing really well today! Though I am pretty hungry after having 1/2 a grapefruit for a snack not too long ago - psychological!!! I am a grazer...munch all day long....got to break the habit.

Hi again everyone!!!
Kids are home from school and said they really loved the talk Rodger gave!!! He talked a lot about SURVIVOR...and a lot about his faith in Christ. My DS got his autograph, but my DD did not get it..she was so upset! I told her..."Hey, I have talked about goging to this all year and I didn't get to.......Be thankful you got to go!" She smiled and said you're right! Besides, he is just a regular guy...his autograph...that made me laugh. My DS has met so many famous football players, but he would have never thought of getting their autograph...but RODGER!!!
To those who do not like or watch Survivor....Rodger was a really nice older man who was is a devoted Christian. He lives in Kentucky.....close to Cinci. so when he was on Survivor, they always had him on the local news afterwards. He brought his Bible as his extra item and he said today (to the kids) that while on Survivor, everyone there wanted to read it! That is awesome...God used him in a very different way!
Anyway...I can't wait till tonight!!!
Have a good evening everyone!!!!;) ;)

Hi All,
I am a very busy girl today and only have a few minutes to reply. I hope all is going well for everyone.
Jack-K and Toni: Yes, the bread recipe is on the April/May/ June 2002 recipe board. I almost made a mistake and
put it on the March Board and that may be where you are looking. It is right under Trishaloo’s wonderful looking
asparagus dish and Monet’s yummy Jamaican beef patties hope it is easy for you make and you enjoy the bread.
Tranquil: Welcome! I started this way of eating because my cholesterol and triglyceride levels were way too high.
They are under control now and I am just a few pounds from my goal.
Melf: Thanks for the note. My birthday was actually March 25th but I am continuing to celebrate. Why not!
Quivondra: I have never see that way to figure how many calories to maintain your weight. However, I did the
math and it seems very reasonable. I like that height and age is figured in also.
Bye for now.

Good evening everyone
I've had a busy day, working, shopping and cooking dinner. I thought I could have a leisurely time at the computer but have just offererd my services for babysitting so have to make this brief as I expect my ds and kids any minute.
Adronsgirl - Five pounds in a month is just fine. Slow but sure, as the saying goes. Glad you liked your first water aerobics class and it is good to have a buddy to help you stay motivated. I went to water aerobics a couple of times last year and it was fun. The hour went so quickly. I may try it again one of these days when I have more time. Since I started badminton I don't have time for much else, except work of course.
Toni48- The sugar rule is if there is 3 grams or less of ADDED sugar per serving it is o.k. This doesn't include naturally occurring sugar like you find in fruit or tomatoes or milk products.
Healthygirl - Welcome. Congrats on quitting smoking. That is a major achievement although unfortunately it usually involves weight gain (been there, done that). I hope you have your motivation back to continue on this woe. (I'm still reading posts from two days ago!) It is a very healthy woe and it does work, although some of us will lose more quickly than others. I wish you luck. We are all here for you and if you have any questions just ask. Someone is sure to be able to help you.
Melf - Debbie went away for a week to N/S? Carolina so I just started the boards for her for this week. She will be back on board on Sunday.
Someone was asking about the oatbran pretzels. They are made by Snyders and the ingredients are: organic wheat flour, water, organic oat flour and oat bran, organic agave, salt, yeast, sodium bicarb. They taste really good. You can taste the sweetness from the agave. They are available in some of the PUBLIX stores in the US, although I was unable to find any when I was in Orlando. I was introduced to these by BKM who brought some to the get-together in Orlando. I have since found them in a local store. I am sure someone else can fill you in on where to get them in the US.
Gracious - We have a new Dominion store which has a large health food section and this is where I found the pretzels. I'm not sure if they carry them in any other grocery stores. If I find them anywhere else I will let you know. I'm going to check out Loblaws next time I am there. Zanne said she saw some Snyder's products in the snack aisle in her local Loblaws store.
Sef - WTG on the lost eight pounds - just believe in it. Hope your stomach and headache are better to-day.
I'd better post this before I get interrupted with the kiddos arriving. Will try to get back later.

OK... I did the math both ways and got almost the same thing!! DEB got that I needed about 1700 calories to lose, and that's around what both of those other ways give me. Either way it's like an act of congress to get all those calories!
I've been doing well :) Nothing illegal, but it's coming up on the mid cycle time that I usually eat everything legal in the house! This month is no exception... I've triscuited myself into a coma almost.
I'm still trying to find those Snyders Oat Bran Pretzels, are they just the Oat Bran Sticks? Doesn't say pretzel? I looked it up on the website. I gotta visit a different Kroger. :)
Well, my TJMaxx left MUCH to be desired. I went in and it looked like a blizzard had been through, and I couldn't find a THING I liked :( My mom said they get new stuff all the time, and that I'll have to go once every 3 weeks or so and just keep looking. The card doesn't expire, I can use it as long as it takes. Anyone have any TJMaxx tips? I may end up getting stuff for my kids and DH there, they have some great stuff for them, just nothing cute for me. I think it's because I'm at that "in between" size. All the cute stuff I like goes up to like a 13 which I can't get in yet... and 1x are too big, and I don't plan to get any bigger!! Maybe I'll use it to buy a pair of goal jeans... a size 10... and hang them in the kitchen..LOL!! I did notice they have jewelry... I had to recite to myself * you need clothes, you need clothes * LOL!
Well hope everyone's week is going ok. The kids are still coughing like crazy here, and they go tomorrow to have a Pertussis test because the youngest has had this spasmodic cough with vomiting for 3 weeks now... it's getting crazy! Now the oldest has developed it... and when I researched Pertussis (Whooping Cough) they FIT THE BILL to a T!! Tomorrow they get the QTip up the nose, to find out for sure ;) Everyone send good thoughts :)
Bye

HiedieHo All!!!
I am such a dunce!!!!! My stomach is still hurting today. I went to NH and store but did not go to gym. Why a dunce? You had to ask!!!
Ever since I was in hospital last November I have been on Protonix for my stomach. I had been feeling fine, and last month when I needed a refill and was short on money, I said "Why bother?" I guess it took a while to get out of my system and pain to build up where it really is getting my attention!!
I dropped bottle for refill at drugstore about noon. I did not realize there were no refills left. When I went to pick it up the doctor had not called in yet. If it's not ready in a.m. I will give the doctor a call myself. He is usually pretty good, so may be a reason he hadn't called yet.
I went to Sam's this afternoon and loaded up, had my splint on and had to get help lifting 40# of cat litter. After I checked out I asked for someone to unload cart into car. They had no one!! He had just quit!!! So I had to buggerlug everyhting into the trunk myself, at that time I didn't feel bad about playing hookey from gym!!!! At least DIL was home to unload car.
BTW Sam's here carries Natures Own SFSGWW bread but it it in a two pack.
TRISH - Glad tests okay for Seth. Glad your arm is improving. PT is no fun but worth the effort, I went through it after knee and back surgery.
FRUIT - Go for the makeover, it will be more for you than others. You want to give yourself some added incentive, plus we all like to shock people. What better way to do it!!! Plus, as someone said you may like the long hair. Then that could be your new look.
COUNTRY - Hope your headache is better, at least mine was gone today.
TRANQUIL - Welcome, welcome. You will find so much information here and people who care about each other. Those that aren't caring don't seem to hang around long. Not because we do anything to them, probably because they can't stand all our sweetness and light!! Quite a few of us started this woe because we were scared. I was alarmed by my elevated triglycerides. Both they and cholestrol are great now.
MELF - I'm about two hours from Baton Rouge. I'd love to meet. Let's do it before the real HHH weather starts. Hope Fruit can join us
MONET - Go for color!!! My sitting room is two shades of pink and my bedroom is lilac!!! I once had a royal blue bedroom with white that was really great looking.
LIZ - liked the pic. I can paint my toenails with my boobs!!!! The sands of time are ever going down!!!
Take care all! Shirley

Beth - The Oatbran Pretzels I am talking about are actually sticks although it doesn't say sticks on the front of the package. In smaller print near the top of the package it does say "Baked All Natural Pretzels". Check out the ingredients on the back of the packge to see if you have the right ones although I think there is only one that has oat bran on the package. I listed all the ingredients in my previous post if you want to check it.

Howdy all! Yeah the head feels much better today. Okay everybody raise their hand who stress eats?...man one of those days....I made beans and ate and ate and ate some more.
I hate when I do that. *smile* Beth you had me laughing so hard about your triscuit coma. I sure hope your kids feel better soon. Hope you are feeling better soon Sef.
Can't wait till tomorrow to read some more of your wonderful post. This site is truly a blessing. Night all.

No matter how hard I try, I can't get through the posts until late.
Today was long but productive. I taught a web page building class to some teachers after school. Every time I do this, there's a problem. Today I found out the guy in charge of registering people for the class was on vacation so he didn't get my email, so nobody was registered! I called the service center and told them I had to talk to someone who could help me. Luckily there was a lady there who got us all up and running in about 5 minutes. When we finally got ready to actually do the webpages I told them we were 20 minutes ahead of the other class. It's so frustating when you have to rely on someone else's competence. Enough whining.
Trish: So glad that Seth is okay. I saw the reports about the bats being a danger in Austin this year. My DS is at the Naval Academy. How old is your DS? Is he planning to enlist?
Toni: Thanks for the kind words. I'm working hard to get healthy again. Looking good works for me too.:smug:
Beth: Have you heard about your job interview yet? Did your kids have DPT shots? Can they get Pertusis after them?
Mel: Congrats on dropping from a 16 to a 6. Maybe there's hope for me.
Trish: Go for the new style. I cut my hair a few weeks ago, am trying contacts, and with the 30 lb. weight loss, it's fun to see people again since the changes and have them look at me funny and ask what's different.;)
Daramus: How'd the tests turn out? Make in gourmet meals yet?
I apologize for stopping short of getting to everyone. It's late and my eyeballs are throbbing. Oh the joys of pollen in the springtime air!
Have a great TGIF!!

Hootie hoo!
I can't believe I haven't been able to get on before now today. I'm going to start with the last post and work backwards for as long as I can stay awake.
First, today's business--back down to 235--Whew! Of course TOM is due first of next week so it will bouce around again--hence the rant yesterday!
j red--teaching is exhausting! I used to be worn out by the end of the week. I need to take you webpage building class.
Crystle--Stress eat--us? Puhleeze NO ONE on this board has ever eaten due to stress!:s: It is amazing how we become much more attuned to when we are hungry and when we are eating just because. I used to think it was all the same. I know better now. Maybe we should start trying to drink water as a response to stress????
Rosalie--I got my Oat bran sticks in the health food section at Kroger. I notice that they sell them out almost as soon as they get them. Are there any Auburn lurkers out there--grabbing up all the pretzels. I'd feel better about them if they said WW flour--but it is not enriched. Still they are filling and useful when I need to add calories (go figure).
Healthy Girl--Welcome! It's great to have you with us. Congratulations on getting rid of the cigarettes! You and I are about the same place weight wise, so maybe we can head down the scale together!
SEF--sorry to hear about your stomach. You are really having a time of it lately! Be careful at Sam's--you can really do a lot of damage lifting those heavy boxes!
Beth--did you try the health food section at Kroger--that's where I found the oat bran sticks. My kroger carries Snyder pretzels in the regular chip aisle--but these were in another section entirely. I've done triscuit comas--ick! I always find that TJ Maxx is hit or miss. I can go in there and walk out with tons of stuff--and the next three or four trips findnothing. I'd just hang on to that card till you find something you like!
Tranquil--Welcome! It sounds like your Dr has given you some good advice. You might find the detox period a little rough (your body is addicted to sugar), but once you get through that, you will be amazed at how much better you feel and how much energy you have. We've got some folks on this boards whose DRs are very happy with their progress in SB (including mine!)
OK--this is all I can do tonight. Must go to bed now. I've been applying all my face cremes while I've been reading. You know you're over 40 when you spend as much time putting on face goo before bed as you do putting on your make-up in the morning. Let's see, there's the AHA face creme, the firming creme, the under eye gel, the neck creme--well you get the picture.

Good morning
I didn't get a chance to post yesterday and today isn't going to be much better so I thought I'd get a quicky in. I missed Survivor again - instead my DD and I went to see Panic Room. It was good.
Today I have a group of Boy Scouts coming over to work on and earn their Art Merit badge. It should be fun but messy. They need to learn some basic drawing techniques, make a cartoon, paint a wall plaque, draw the same picture 4 times using different mediums each time, design a picture on the computer (they are making a patrol logo) and then using transfer paper print it to a t-shirt, and need to discuss jobs and careers in art. Luckily only 4 of them are doing this.
Trish - I am in the Norfolk area - thats the base my DH's ship is stationed at. When will your son be in the area? How old is he?
Well I need to cut this short and get ready for the scouts - have a great day everyone

good morning!
I was gonna post a long one and reply to everyone this morning but as I was reading posts, the tv news starting talking about my friends that are in the band I told you about. They showed their picture and talked about how they signed with that new manager from LA. So, now I've got to call them and celebrate! I'm so happy for them! :D
MELF: I would LOVE to meet up in BR. I live about 1 hr 15 mins away - not far at all. Let's make some plans!
Ok - I'm running to make that phone call!

TGIF Everyone.
Sure glad it is finally here, Starting to warm up a little here. Low 60's. Got up at 5:30 and got my 2 mile walk in. Can't walk on Friday nites as we meet a group of friends for happy hour. Fixed my oatmeal this morning, no milk. Nothing like dry oatmeal. Good thing I really love it.
Soemone mentioned watching CSI. Wasn't it awesome last nite. My DD and I had to keep covering our eyes. LOL
Red1, Have a wonderful visit with your DS & DIL. My baby left for college last fall and my other DD still lives at home, but will be married next May, So I will too have the empty nest. It's not to bad I don't think. My oldest is never home so we feel like we have empty nest already. My Dh and I do a lot of fun things together, like dating all over again.
Gracious, Isn't if fun shopping for smaller clothes!. I'm was ecstatic when I got out of the plus size dept. When I first started I would treat myself to a new piece of clothing or something for every 10#'s I lost. It was fun.
Kimmey, That's neat about Roger coming to the school. Sorry you had to miss him. He seemed like a real nice guy, sort a like your dad would be.
QUIV, I'm with you on the boss!. Mine is trying to leave on vacation tomorrow and he is on my last nerve already. MEN!!
Tranquil, Welcome, I'm fairly new to this board, it is a great place to be. You get alot of support and a bunch of new friends too!. This is a great WOE and you will be feeling great in no time. Best of luck to you. , grazing is not a bad habit. Sometimes it better to eat 6 small meals than 3 bigger meals. It keeps you from overeating.
Trish, DST starts this weekend. Thank goodness. I love having more time at nite to do things. I will try to post the jello salad recipe this weekend.
Yellowrose, Thanks for posting the recipe. I will have to give it a try.
Beth, It never fails that when you have money or need to buy something, you can never find anything. Soon as you don’t have any money, there is tons of things you could buy. I think TJMax has great household items too. I’m in the same boat as you. 1X way to big, L still a little tight. Hope your kids are getting better. Doesn’t sound like much fun.
Sef, Hope you get feeling better soon. Take your medicine girl!
Liz, WOW What a scary picture. How many of us recognized ourselves.
Healthygirl, Glad to hear your hanging in there. No withdrawal headaches yet?
Pooch, Sounds like you have a busy day ahead with all those boy scouts. I admire you for having the patience to put up with all that.
Got to get to work, busy day ahead and everyone keeps standing at my door. Man I can't believe they actually want tme to work. Don't they understand I have to have my SB Board fix.
Good Friday to all!!

Hi EVERONE!
Just checking in. I've been trying to do my running around with the car this week cause there's a transit strike being threatened for next week and DH will need the car. And I'm still cleaning the house like a crazy woman. Actually throwing out lots and gathering bags of stuff to give away. I can't believe how much junk I have hanging around--well much less now:D
I have to really jump back into this WOE with both feet. And I haven't exercised in a week! My plan is to start TODAY! I'm probably going to have to bring the weights down a notch since I haven't lifted in a bit, but I'll get it back up:)
I haven't read too much from the board this week:( I must get back into doing that as I think it helps keep me on track. I hope everyone is doing ok.
ROSALIE I got some of the Oat Bran pretzels. They are so yummy. I'm not a pretzel person, but I like these. I do have to be careful tho, I got a slight allergic reaction and could feel my lips and tongue swell slightly the few times I've munched on them. I've had all the ingredients before, so I don't know what's up:shrug: I think I will try the sour dough pretzel nuggets. They were only $1.99. I have to look at the ingredients, but I think we can eat sour dough.
Gotta run and get in a BIG shopping. Take care everyone.

Happy Friday Everyone,
Beth - your mom is right about TJMaxx. It's one of those places that you just have to keep going back to see what they have. I've been in them when they looked like what you described and others when they had great stuff. Hope your kiddos start feeling better soon. It's awful when they're not feeling well.
Sef - Consider your experience at Sam's your weight training for the day. That's the only thing I don't like about Sam's. There's very rarely someone to help you with heavy packages if you need it.
Healthygirl - 2 days on the plan is 2 days of healthier eating. Way to go. Everyone here is great and we're here to help you if you need it.
Crystle - This is my hand raised. I am such a stress eater. I'm at least trying now to keep it to legal stuff and not a Snickers. Baby steps, right?
J Red - Yep, Austin has a huge bat population. It's actually become a tourist attraction to go downtown to the bridge that they inhabit and watch them fly out at night. It's really something to see. It looks like black smoke billowing out from the bridge. They do eat a tremendous amount of mosquitoes, so all in all I guess they're alright to have around as long as my 10 year old will leave them alone. I think he's learned his lesson or at least lets hope. My oldest son is almost 17 and a junior in high school. He's been going back and forth between the Marines and Navy. He would love to be in the Naval Academy but right now the academics just aren't there. How much longer does your DS have at the Academy?
Pooch - My son is 17 and I think the camp is in June. We're still at the "how are we going to get him there?" stage. There are some other people from here that would be going so I feel better about that (including his Sea Cadet CO and XO). Have fun with the Scouts.
Fruit - How cool that your friends were on the news.
Did everyone see Survivor last nite? I felt so bad for Maraamu losing. Next week is the merge, I think. That should spice things up.
Hey are any of you Texas folks going to Round Top this week-end? For those of you that don't know, to say that Round Top is a very large antique show and sale is a huge understatement. There are several little small towns in the area and it's just miles and miles of booths. They do it twice a year and people come from all over the country. My friends are going today, and I really want to try and go tomorrow. Although it will be a huge mob of people, it's always lots of fun if your into that kind of thing.
I guess I actually should do some work now. Have a great day everyone.

Hey everyone!
It is gorgeous here-though a little cool. That's ok as it will be above 80 soon enough!
I hope everyone has a good weekend. Remember (this is as much for myself as for everyone else), it is a shame to undo all the good work we've done during the week, by straying during the weekend! I'm just now back to where I was before Easter--so I've got to keep going through the weekend so I will be in a better place next week! Who's comming with me?
BOB--I think you should enter the chicken contest. Go for it you never know what might happen!
Trish--the antique show sounds like fun. I'm into depression glass and old books myself. My mother is an avid collector of occupied Japan figurines and old bottles. We have lots of fun together shopping for antiques.
Zanne, I've wondered about the sourdough pretzels. I have to count out a portion (18) of the oat bran sticks and put the bag away--otherwise the bag is gone and I have the same allergic reaction on the hips! My glucose revolution book lists pretzels as high GI--like 88, but I'm sure that's refined flour pretzels. I seem to be losing so I guess they are ok in moderation.
Goody's is having their moonlight madness sale today. I love their t-shirts for wearing with jeans and under jumpers. I started in the 3-x--they now swallow me. I've given most of them away. Last summer I bought some 2 xs and are starting to hang--so I'm thinking maybe I can pick up some 1 x's tonight. They are on sale for less than 8 bucks and the nespaper had an extra 10% coupon--so I'm going shopping!
I need slacks. I wore some navy slacks yesterday that are size 24W--they about fell off. I can ball up all the material that is hanging in front and in my behind. I want to order some from land's end. Has anyone ordered from them? Accoring to the size chart I'm between an 18W and a 20W. I need to know if the size chart is accurate or if they run small or large. Any help would be appreciated!
HMMMM, I wonder what mischief Frog and our fearless leader may be getting into this weekend???????

Well, first I have to lip off about how I wrote a really long post and addressed just about everyone and then my creepy computer froze on me!
Okay..now that that is over, I had a better WIF than WIW. I ended up weighing myself on Wed anyway and was 168...bummer. But today, I am happy to report that I am 165! That one extra lb is water weight from TOM..at least that is what I have convinced myself to believe :s: I am hoping that extra one will be gone over the weekend.
I have company arriving from Ontario today and I have no idea when. A full weekend of entertaining..actually every day..Fri, Sat & Sun...but different folks on the various day.
Let me see if I can remember some of the stuff I wrote earlier..gotta move cause that company can show up any minute!
FILLISE- I was saying that with that much cream I am amazed you didn't slide right off your chair and away from the keyboard! I also put handcream on when I am at the computer. Having it sit here reminds me to do it, although you have to be careful or it can get messy.
JACK-K- Yes I know what you mean. I loved being able to shop in the regular size area and actually have a selection rather than to choose from 3 or 4 tents of various style and colour! You even get to buy sale items more often when you can buy off the regular rack...good for me, bad for hubby! :s:
ROSALIE- Thanks for the info on the pretzels. I will check for those at my Superstore (Loblaws) but we don't have a dominion. Perhaps I will get my Mom to pick some up for me when she visits in June. She lives in Bolton so I know she would be able to find them somewhere.
KIMMY- We don't even watch tv but I knew about Roger and someone taped one of those Survivor shows for us back then to watch, just to see what it was like. I think it is wonderful that he could have such a positive witness for Christ on such a widely viewed show, not to mention all of the follow up programs/interviews and things like that visit to the school. Kids need to see *real life* Christians out there making a difference.
BETH- Here's to hoping the kids coughs clear up quickly. You certainly have had lots to deal with lately. Good to hear you are still eating legal even in times like this. Keep it up!
Okay...I am scared this thing is gonna freeze and I lose it all again. So I am going to stop.
Have a great weekend!!

Hi Y’all!!
I am on my lunch break and I am eating a turkey sandwich with spring greens and mustard on stone ground whole wheat bread (no flour/no sugar) and ½ a pickle...and I am reading all posts and trying to get used to how many people to post to, you all
amaze me being able to respond to all - so I am making my attempt and hope to get better at it soon
SEF - thank you for the welcome, and hope you feel better soon - make sure you don’t run out of your medicine again, though I know I too have let prescriptions go for the same reason!
FILLISE - Thank you, I am having some withdrawals! I think having ½ a grapefruit in the morning for breakfast has helped a lot. I am just hungry, and following the books 14 day menu... Not only am I eating different foods now, I am eating such smaller portions, so I am sure it will all get better soon - will power!!! hahaha
JACK-K - I LOVE CSI!!!! I agree last night was great - I locked myself in my room with my greyhound and 2 cats...my child was not home last night...so it was scary :) I am also a Survivor nut, so Thursdays are tv night for me. Thanks for the welcome.
TRISHALOO - We have a small fruit bat community on my street. I do enjoy watching them on summer evenings when I go for a walk swooping to eat all those little critters flying in the air! Survivor: I too was sad about them having to vote off Gina, darn!! I cannot wait for them to merge now!!!
Have to say I am glad to have found this board, just reading all your posts is teaching me a lot about SB.
Sabrina who wishes life were Tranquil today :^:

Hi Everyone! Just finished all the wall paper ripping I can reach. I have to get my hubby to bring in the ladder and do the areas over the stairs that I can't reach. Then I guess I need to scrub the walls and prime them before painting. Anyone got advice for painting after pulling off wallpaper?
I decided to do a WIF as well as a WIW this week, just to keep Gracious company. Good idea! I lost two more pounds! That brings my total from last week to four pounds! I am ecstatic! I am wondering why I suddenly dropped four pounds. I started taking selenium, but I am thinking it must be a combination of the increase in thyroid meds, as well as the other meds the doctor gave me. I really don't care..as long as it works!
I read about how some of you are buying smaller clothes. Mine are getting very loose, but I still don't think I am ready for a shopping spree and smaller clothes. I can't wait until my turn comes! This weight loss has been SO long in coming!
LIZERY: I love that picture...hope my boobs never
hang that low!
TRISH: Glad it worked out Seth did not need those
shots. I did not know bats were that dangerous!
Hope PT is getting easier. Good for you getting
back on program!
TRANQUIL: SB is great for blood sugar levels. My
doctor is on the local diabetes board, and he
recommends it to all his patients. It gets easier,
honest! Just stick with it, and the cravings and
hunger will eventually calm down!
KIMMY: I am sorry you had to miss meeting Rodger.
I have never watched Survivor, but I can understand.
What a great guest speaker for the kids! Kids need
to hear confirmation of what they are taught about
faith from others..sounds like he was a good one!
BETH: Just keep going back to TJ Maxx. They get
new stuff in all the time! Eventually, you will
find something you like! Think of it like a
treasure hunt! :) Do you have any Publix near
you? They usually have the oat bran pretzels. If
not, ask them to get them in. Since other Publix
carry them, the warehouse will have them, and it
hould not be difficult.
SEF: I am glad you figured out you needed that
medicine! Hope you got it ok. I am still working
on my hubby about the dark blue color for the walls.
My daughter is fighting me on it too. Grrrr!
I feel sure I will win tho!
HEALTHY: Welcome! Hope you find all the support
you need here!
COUNTRY: Stress? Eat for stress? Honestly! I
have never found an emotion I couldn't eat for!
JRED: Sorry your class stuff was messed up! Sounds
like a fun class! I am with you about the pollen!
I think Atlanta is the worst for pollen! I need a
gas mask! And it is SO pretty out!
FILLISE: I had to laugh at the picture I got in my
mind of you applying all those creams! Maybe I
should start doing that? I am beginning to look old!
I am afraid I am too lazy! Thanks for the heads up
on Goody's sale. I may go check it out. I have
gotten some great clothes there. I don't know if I
can go a size smaller yet..it sure would be nice!
POOCH: Good for you working with those boy scouts!
Sounds like fun to me! (I got my degree in art
education!) Are you an artist, or just dabbling for
their sake?
JACK: My oldest daughter is getting married in June,
and we will only have the 16 year old left. I know
what you mean about feeling like you have an empty
nest already! Most nights, both girls are gone,
and it is just hubby and I. Two more years, and the
youngest will be off to college. I can't believe
how fast the time has gone!
ZANNE: Are you SURE you don't want to come down and
clean my house for me? I wish I knew what would
trigger a cleaning frenzy in me! Better yet, if it
were a pill, I would hide it in my girls food! I have
the misfortune to live with three VERY messy people..
and being messy myself does not help! Perhaps you
will inspire me!
GRACIOUS: Hope all goes well with the company!
Well, it is time for my afternoon nap! Have a good evening everyone!

Big nightmare at work. Totally stressed!! Had a business dinner last night and I cheated a little bit...I paid for those two glasses of wine I tell you!
Still feeling like I'm not losing a thing but I'm hoping it's because TOM is almost here. I am participating in WIF but I'm going to the gym to weigh myself. My scale at home says I'm 155 (on wednesday it say 156). I think that it's about 3lbs off from the scale at the gym. We'll see what happens tonight! I don't feel slimmer and my clothes feel the same. I sure hope I didn't gain!! I've been eating really well.
Beth- It's true, TJ Maxx gets new shipments all the time..you should wait it out. 13 is a juniors size, maybe you're not looking in the right area? Also, if pants and skirts are a problem, look at handbags and sandals. " You can never have too many hats, gloves and shoes" -Patsy from ABFAB
Gracious-I'm with you on the WIF. You go on with your bad self...4lbs?!?!?
Fillise-Can't help you. But I can say congrats for getting down to an 18-20. I'd go for the 18W. By the time it reaches you you'll be a 18.
Jack-K- Boss is gone till wednesday. When the cat's away...
However, I DO have to get back to work....I'll post my weight tonight. I'm sure you're all dying to know ;)

Yellowrose- It's an equation for your resting metabolic rate that I got from Shape Magazine. I think it's fairly accurate...although you have to make sure to add some calories for activity.

Just a quicky...
Quiveronda...
Don't let the stress of work make you cheat. Then they get the best of you on both ends. Hang in there. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water...that way you are not retaining any water. TOM sure makes a big difference for me! Good luck w/ your WIF...but remember too, you are going to weigh yourself at night! You probably are lighter than what the scales will say. I am sure my scales at home are a little off...consistancy is more important to me...
Gracious..
AMEN!!
Survivor was good...poor Gina! I really like her. Get that Rob out of there! Oh my..that nurse, John....yuck!
CSI!!! What a good show! I was on the edge of my chair too!!!
Have a good one all!!!

Good luck

Just a quick post before I go home, want to posts the notes I've been making all day.
Zanne, Can you come to my house when you finish yours? I could definately use some help. Doesn't all that cleaning count for some exercie? I think so. Good luck getting started again.
Trish, antique shopping sounds like fun. Are things reasonably priced? We have a huge flea market here at our expo center aboutn 4-6 times a year. I don't go anymore. Seen one, etc. Have fun
Fillise, I'm with you. I don't cheat, but I don't always eat enought fruits and veggies and water on the weekend. I will this weekend. I accept your challenge.
Gracious, wTG on the 3#. hope you lose that 1 lingering pound.
Tranquil, look back to maybe Monday, someone suggested using Notepad and flipping back and forth. It really helps keep track of posting. Sounds like a good lunch. But don't eat too little. I know it is crazy, but you actually have to eat on this WOL to loose. Good luck.
Monet, Congrats on the 4 #'s. Great motivator isn't it! I also have one messy daughter and one neat freak. The messy one is getting married. Hope her husband doesn't mind it.
GOTTABEME, Are you still out there. i know you had some problems. Come back we can help.
Have a good weekend everyone!!!!

OK... here's the deal. The pediatrician called me yesterday, and heard my son cough in the background... all of a sudden she wanted to see us again. (Mind you I took the youngest one in on March 22nd, to be sent home with over the counter meds, and on Easter Sunday I took him to the ER, same result!!)
I go in today, and the Pediatricians on duty there (They have about 4) happened to be their regular Doc, and the one who also is the Health Department Epidemiologist (sp) Contact. They are willing to put $$$ on the fact that my TWO SONS AND HUSBAND, all have PERTUSSIS!!! (aka WHOOPING COUGH) which is a VERY communicable (CONTAGIOUS AS ALL HE!!) bacterial infection. I think the only thing that saved me, is the fact that during the first week, while they were most contagious... I was on a Z-Pack for that stupid (now BLESSED) pink eye that wouldn't leave... and ZPack is one of the drugs of choice!!!!!!!
So... my kids, myself, and DH are all on antibiotics... DH and I have to take TWO Zpacks, back to back...and the kids are on 10 days of Azithromycin liquid. Their OFFICIAL test results will be back by around Tuesday, at which time if it's positive... they will contact the daycare and will treat (free of charge) everyone in Youngest DS's class. They would have given us treatment for free, but we would've had to wait for the results to come in positive, and I didn't want to wait that long... plus they give Erythromycin which we'd have to take 4 times a day instead of this stuff once a day! I was kind and called the daycare in advance, and they were rude to me... I shoulda let em hear it from the health department, but I have some people there who I actually liked and wanted to warn.
WHEW... Sorry I was so long winded... but geez when can we catch a BREAK?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
No word on any of the jobs yet... I am awaiting a phone call for an interview for a Records Clerk position (read: DESK JOB!!!!!!!) at the County Courthouse... Kick A$$ benefits!
Anyway... I ate WAY too much fat/carbs this week... WAY too much... enough that it makes me GLAD I don't own a scale! ANyhoo... It's all been legal, I guess as long as I binge legally, it'll do less overall damage than eating some sugary stuff :)
Thanks for listening to my rant... sorry to be a downer :( Maybe I can drop a pants size in the midst of all of this to perk myself back up.. HA! I have a whole 8 days to go to get to my goal of 180 by my anniversary... I need to be chugging the H20 like crazy!!

i just wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers this week. my big ol son jeff had surgery monday to repair an ACL tear in his knee. a BIG thanks to sonya for updating you all on his status. he did ok, the surgery so far is successful and he has a lonnnng summer of rehab and work to get it back in tackling shape for the fall season. the surgeon is hopeful that he will be ready for practice in august! today he walked without his crutches, took me way back to his first tiny steps as a baby, a little unsteady but i could see that same determination. we had a few problems post operatively and as a recovery nurse i was a little upset with his "mean nurse" but i have handled that as diplomatically as possible. THANKS AGAIN for all your support!
i did lurk the board a few nites but i am at a loss to begin to respond to ALL the posts, we are a very talkative group! but just lurking has kept me honest in my weight loss pursuit, except for a little indiscretion with a bagel from the panera bread place in orlando and i must admit a few too many carbs here and there and more sf russell stover that i can comfortably admit too!
my daughter sarah will celebrate her 10th birthday this weekend, we have surprise tickets for her to see NSYNC in concert in orlando!!!!!! she will be thrilled, i have my ear plugs already and yes at 49 1/2 years my first puberty concert!
take care girls and daramus, hope all have a great weekend, again thanks for all the care and concern, you guys are great!

Today is supposed to be Fun Friday or some such name. This is my contribution!
HUNTING
A father and son went hunting together for the first time. The father said:
"Stay here and be very QUIET. I'll be across the field." A few minutes later, the father heard a bloodcurdling scream and ran back to his son.
"What's wrong?" the father asked. "I told you to be quiet."
The son answered: "Look, I was quiet when the snake slithered across my feet. I was quiet when the bear breathed down my neck. I didn't move a muscle when the skunk climbed over my shoulder.I closed my eyes and held my breath when the wasp stung me. I didn't cough when I swallowed the gnat. I didn't cuss or scratch when the poison oak started itching.
But when the two chipmunks crawled up my pant legs and said, "Should we eat them here or take them with us?"
Well, I guess I just panicked.

Okay one more. I hope no one thinks they are too naughty! My NH folks loved them!!!!
The Rooster
This farmer has about 200 hens but no rooster, and he wants chicks. So, he goes down the road to the next farmer and asks if he has a rooster which he would sell. The other farmer says, "Yeah, I've got this great rooster named Roy. He'll service every chicken you got, no problem."
Well, Roy the rooster costs a lot of money, but the farmer decides he'd be worth it. So, he buys Roy.
The farmer takes Roy home and sets him down in the barnyard. He gave the rooster a pep talk, "Roy, I want you to pace yourself now. You've got a lot of chickens to service here, and you cost me a lot of money. I'll need you to do a good job. So, take your time and have some fun," the farmer said, with a chuckle. Roy seemed to understand, so the farmer points toward the hen house, and Roy took off like a shot.
WHAM! - Roy nails every hen in the hen house-- three or four times--and the farmer is really shocked. After that the farmer hears a commotion in the duck pen. Sure enough, Roy is in there. Later, the farmer sees Roy after a flock of geese. Once again, - WHAM! - He gets all the geese.
By sunset he sees Roy out in the fields chasing quail and pheasants. The farmer is distraught -- worried that his expensive rooster won't even last 24 hours.
Sure enough, the farmer goes to bed and wakes up the next day, to find Roy dead as a doorknob--stone cold in the middle of the yard. Buzzards are circling overhead.
The farmer, saddened by the loss of such a colorful and expensive
animal, shakes his head and says, "Oh Roy, I told you to pace yourself. I tried to get you to slow down, now look what you've done to yourself."
Roy opens one eye, nods toward the buzzards circling in the sky and says, "Shhhh, they're getting closer...

HiedieHo All!!!
Well, I got my medicine his morning but one dose hasn't helped. If I remember right in the hospital they gave me a strong dose by IV then put me on pills. So I guess it will take a few days to kick in.
I didn't go to gym today but did do shopping at WinnDixie. There they have someone to help you. Then GD was home to help.
I made a HUGE pot of spaghetti sauce with sweet and hot sausage, meatballs and mushrooms. After I had it simmering I took a two hour nap. By the time you chop and dice and shop......well maybe not you.......I get tired. It sure tasted good. Will put a couple of containers in freezer for those HHH days you don't feel like cooking!
ZANNE - If you had that kind of reaction from the pretzels, I would not eat them again. Allergic reactions can get worse each time. You can develop an allergy at anytime, even to things you've been okay with. I was 39 when I developed an allergy to bananas, my throat swells up inside, the first time I sort of shrugged it off, the second time there was no shrugging!!
TRISH - I would love the antique thing. My DH and I would go to estate sales, auctions, yard sales, antique fair and shops. That was our favorite thing, we got some grand buys and our home was filled with antiques.
FILLISE - You want to talk Depression Glass!?! I collect pink. I had about 1500 pcs. Sold a lot when I needed money and had to sell house too. I have a complete service for 6 with extra serving pcs in Sharon. Got the set for $50 about 35 years ago. At a show here I saw plates for $65 ea.!!! I once went to a Depression Glass Show in Newburgh NY, and had more pink than all the dealers put together. My DIL likes green and I have gotten her a few pcs over the years. But she is not a "collector".
MONET - We washed walls with TSP, a product made to get all the residue off them. You need rubber gloves but DS didn't use them and had no problem. You can get it at any home improvement or hardware store. Then we primed and painted. Tell the family the blue would be great!! You have it on good authority! LOL
COUNTRY - I got Agave at St. Pat's Brewery http://www.stpats.com/ The order arrived promptly, within the week. Two pounds of the light and one of the amber came to 23.11.
OKay that's it for now. Take care all!

good morning
Who is it that posted they have a lot of energy? I do also. After the Boy Scouts left yesterday I went to Home Depot (one of my favorite stores) and bought some paint. I painted almost my whole living room - I have one wall left that I'll do this morning. I love all the fix it, decorating shows on HGTV and also the Trading Spaces show on TLC. I want to put down some wood flooring in the foyer but really need DH home for that job.
My DD has decided to give SB a go (again). The first time she started with me back in Jan and lasted 4 days. She started yesterday and by 8:00 last night she was complaining that this is too hard. She refuses to drink water and wants her tea back. I'm not sure if she'll give up or stick with it yet but I do know that she's not real happy about how close in size we are. I am wearing a few of her things. We went shopping the other day and I am finally out of the plus size dept too and she didn't like us looking at the same clothes.
BKM - that is so cool that you're taking your DD to the concert - what a brave woman you are. O Town is coming here and my DD wants to go to that one. Will keep you and DS in our prayers.
Beth - thank goodness the doc heard the coughing in the background. 2 of my kids had allegic reactions to the pertussis part of their DPT immunization and couldn't get repeat doses. I always worried that they would catch it. Did your kids get immunized against it?
Gotta cut this short - my little one just woke up and loves to snuggle in the morning. Don't know how much longer this will last since he's almost 8 so I appreciated every morning that he does it still.

Well there was an entire 5 hours of sleep in this house in a ROW last night!! Thank God For Codeine!
My oldest still sounds like he's dying and strangling to death when he coughs, but the codeine has helped him not hurt so bad. It got to a point yesterday where he was crying every single time he coughed.
POOCH - YES YES YES they were immunized against it!! My children never missed a vaccine! They've had them all on time with no problems... and yet my youngest son had the chicken pox TWICE last year... AND NOW THIS! I understand my 10 year old's antibodies might be dwindling... and certainly my husband's are... but my 5 year old's already?!? I mean it seems like he JUST had them! LOL! :)
Anyway, thank you for all the thoughts and prayers. I still feel fine, and am taking my precautionary antibiotics like I should. DH thinks his is just a sinus infection, but if the boys' swabs come back a definite positive, he will go get swabbed himself for epidemiologic statistic purposes. I honestly think I'm gonna miss it. I had the meds for the pink eye, and now I'm already on the meds... I'm usually the last one to get things, so maybe I've dodged the bullet. Both my kids and myself have asthma pretty badly this time of year (which is what our first thought was when this started). And they say asthmatics are more succeptible. So, I guess we're just lucky.
I just have to keep reminding myself that HE never throws us more than we can handle... I'll get through all of this, and get a great new job, and we'll be healthy again. :)
Eating has been ok... I'm still having a hard time with getting enough calories (go figure! amazing what happens when you don't eat goodies!) I also haven't done as much water as I need to, but today I am making an effort to drink as much water as humanly possible! Hey I have no excuses, I'm homebound for the next 5 days... close to a faucet AND a potty!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Good Morning all!
Wee...I have been up since before 6. My 2 y/o had an accident and he was soaked! He had been potty trrained for almost a year now and doesn't go at night (I trained him at 18 months). But last night he did and I paid for it this a.m.!!
So to my surprise...snow was on the ground! Man, I just want to hang up the winter coats and let the sun shine in, but I guess I will have to wait.
Beth....I hope everyone recovers in your home. And you are 100% right, He will not give you more than you can handle. It sure does not feel like that at times though, does it! I think it is in our times of crisis we really get our strenght from Him! Prayers for you and you family!!!
BKM....sounds like a good time....I hope your daughter knows how awesome you are!!! Hope all is well w/ DS. Hope he is also dealing w/ his friends death ok.
Pooch.......LOL about you and your DD!!! She is probably very proud of you but wants to be skinnier than you. Just more inspiriation for you;) . I wish I could wear my moms clothes!!! She is slim and very beautiful! She wears like a 4-6. That would be a loose 4-6.
Hope everyone enjoys your weekend!

Kimmythekid- Now snow on the ground!!! Don't even say that. I'm here in Missouri and want all that to just be a memory. I walked along the river this week and looked at the "Johnny Jump Ups" in bloom all over the ground. There was even a Bradford Pear tree with its pretty white flowers... Oh for spring. And don't the clocks even spring forward tonight!!!! It must be SPRING!

Woke up with a headache, from Spring time – too much pollen in the air, my white car is green. Ate an omelet, and now I have to get laundry and all those wonderful house chores finished…before I leave to go to the movies with friends. They have taken an oath to keep me away from the popcorn! :dizzy:
Jack-K - Thanks for the help on the note pad for keeping track of replies….and I am trying not to eat too little…I just need to realize what is legal to eat for a snack, hopefully soon I will get adjusted. I just have not figured out how much we should eat yet on this new woe. :)
Sef - I loved the jokes, they were very cute! I hope your medicine starts kicking in soon for ya! Oh and you made me hungry for that sauce, so I took some turkey sausage out to thaw and plan to make some of my own!!! I bought the ww spaghetti to try…. :spin: Boy Pasta and Sauce, cannot wait!
Beth – Prayers for your family to get well soon! And I hope that Courthouse job falls in your lap…definitely sounds like a good one to me. I used to work in the Broward County Courthouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and loved every minute of it! :)
Kimmy – Wow, potty trained at 18 mos! Mine was so stubborn, I did not have that kind of luck….he was 3! Ahhhh! :)
BigKnight - I am right there with you on the Panera!!! Big temptation….. You need to change your name to Cool Mama, because a really special cool mom goes to NSYNC concerts!! Your daughter is a very lucky child… :D
Quivondra – 0.5 is still something!!! I am exactly the same weight…has not budged yet…but perseverance!!!! One reason I love my scale, it shows those wonderful ½ pounds!!! :)
Pooch – Wow I want some of that energy!!! I have all kinds of projects to finish and get completed!
Got to get away from the computer now and do my chores, yuch!

Guess I'll check out Boxerjam.

Got back from meeting Deb and her mom a little while ago. I took some pictures with my digital, and I posted one of her and I at Harry's Farmers Market on the photo board. It was great to meet her! She really has a gift for making you feel like you have known her all your life!
I asked her about 'the look' and she showed me. I tried to imitate it a few times on her... :s: Harry's is not as great as it used to be, but we looked through everything, and found some interesting stuff. We also went over to a Middle Eastern grocery store, and looked at the stuff there. Deb found some stuff to get there, and tried to explain the purpose of all the different grinds of bulgur wheat to me. I was still confused and decided to go for the middle of the road...#3 out of five!
She said to tell everyone hi, and she would be back home tomorrow night. Seems like they had good weather and had a good time. Her kids were at Six Flags while we were together, and after I left them, they were going to go do some more shopping before heading back across Atlanta to pick up the kids.
It has been great being involved in this board. Thank you everyone for your support.

. . . for I have sinned. AGAIN!
ok, I'm pretty disgusted with myself. After being so high and mighty yesterday about staying OP all weekend--I didn't even make it through Friday night. I had been so good all day. It was the last day for candidates to qualify for political races in Alabama, about 4:00 I headed down to the courthouse to see what was going to happen with the local races. I had no troulbe saying no to the white chocolate macademia nut cookies, my friend had made for the afternoon. But there was a lot of political mischief afoot and when we got it all sorted out we decided to go have a drink.
mistake.
Two margaritas (not even red wine) and I was into the salsa and chips like nobodys business--then the fajitas--with the tortillas. AARRGGHH--what's worse than how I felt when I got home (my alcohol consumption has gone to practically zero on this WOE--so I felt the two drinks) is that I feel like such a hypocrite for telling everyone else to stay OP.
I made myself come home and enter it all into my fitday journal for the day. You don't even want to know. And I am making myself confess.
So it is up to you--what is my penance?
For the record today has been better. My fats and protiens are both high for the day, but my carbs are low--I thought I'd really hit the very low glycemic foods hard today. Calorie intake is under 1600. For the week the average is about 1750 calories and my protein/carb/fat intake is within a percentage point or two of being in the 40/30/30 range on all counts.
Enough of my whining.
I went to the bookstore this afternoon and discovered a book called "The Wrinkle Cure" by Nicholas Perricone, M.D. What caught my attention--ok other than the promise to cure my wrinkles--was his recommended diet for the skin. It is basically SugarBusters! He doesn't call it by name, but he describes it almost exactly the way it is described in the orinigal book. He does recommend much more fish--which is something I've stepped up on anyway. Anyway so this WOE is apparently good for the skin. I'll work on getting an excerpt up for Motivational Monday.
Monet--Glad to hear that you got to meet Deb! I have not yet had that pleasure, but look forward to the day. I probably need to schedule a trip down to the detox dungeon! I'm going to look at the picture when I finish this post.
Tranquil--We are covered in pollen too. I have noticed since being on SB that I have had less trouble with allergies the last year and a half. I really do think it is a benefit to the immune system.
Kimmy--Snow! Yuck! And I'm fussing cause I still have to turn the heat on at night.
Beth--well goodness a gernm shouldn't have ANY chance of surviving in your house with all the antibiotics. I had to laugh when you had to decide the pinkeye was a blessing--it just goes to show that you never know how things are going to work out!
SEF--I collect green and amber glass and use it as my Christmas china. I hit the jackpot the year I lived in the Pacific Northwest and found some really neat pieces. My collection is not anywhere near as extensive as yours, but I enjoy shopping for it. I want to go to a show--I've just been scouring shops. My mom got me started when she bought me a green sandwich glass to hold toothbrushes in my bathroom.
Loved the jokes!
Quivondra--Congrats on the 1/2 pound! Take any and all losses!
BigK--Glad to hear that DS is taking his first "baby steps." I had my knee scoped last summer--not as extensive as his injury--but crutches are a pain in the a**! I'm glad he is starting to move around without them.
OK--Got to go to bed--and you know me, it will take forever to put on all those cremes!

Hello everyone! Have just finished reading all the posts since Wednesday.
I know you all wanna know what Deb and I did, so here you go. But please keep in mind that I am not the reporter that others, like SOL, are!
I met Deb, her 2 kids (Micheal and Lauren) Mom, and nephew (Sean) on Thursday afternoon. Deb and I went out for dinner guess where... Outback. Always good of course. Then we headed over to Piggy's for SF ice cream. Deb's Mom's place in the mountains is great! Such a beautiful area, made me really miss my grad school days in Boone, NC. Anyway... we played Scrabble, watched Survivor and chatted.
Friday we went to Asheville for a little gallery, yard sale and antique shopping. That evening we went to Ryan's for dinner then back to the house. This is when things really got interesting. It seems that Deb's kids have lots of fun with their digital video camera and making these little "films." Deb managed to find some costume wigs up there and the kids were having a great time making movies with the wigs. Y'all know my affinity for dressing up (Marilyn Monroe and Elvira), so I got in on the act. Next thing you know I am Little Richard then Ellie Mae Clampett! Deb's Mom went out to water a few plants and came in doing her "Nell" impersonation and that just brought doen the house! TOO much fun! The evening ended after a VERY long, but fun card game with me and the 3 young 'uns.
We got up at the crack 'a dawn Sat a.m. so the kids could go to Six Flags in Atlanta and Deb could meet Monet. I left for home about 7:00. What a fun time! For those of you who've met Deb but not the rest of her family, you've missed a real treat!
THANKS again Deb for a delightful getaway!
I will be going to the beach house where we have an October retreat planned for SBers. I will take pictures and post more information about the location, housing, costs, travel in Mid-May at the latest. Please carefully consider attending, we want as many that can come to join us for the fun and festivities! The dates are Thurs-Sun, October 10-13.
FRUIT - I would come to your neck of the woods to do a SL@H show. I would combine that with a NO trip, a visit with a former coworker there, and to see SEF! I am truly not kidding either! I have always wanted to go to NO. If you're interested let me know and I'll get in on my summer calendar! :)
RED1 - There is a SL@H website but they aren't selling products from it. It's mainly information about hostessing, becoming a consultant, etc. If you'd like to see the products I'll send you a catalog. Just email me your snailmail addy.
JACK-K - I've heard that there are brides who have a SL@H shower/show to get items they want. It is like a shower but people don't bring gifts, they order items on the brides wish list from the catalog, then she (or a family member) gets the added benefit of ordering more peices at the hostess discount. It's great way to get the items if that is what the bride likes. And you know me, I'd come to the fine city of Louisville to host a show for her if she's interested. I like to travel. Went to L'ville about 8 years ago. Went to an Ice Hawks game and ate at the Spaghetti Factory. Fun time.
WELCOME TRANQUIL! It's always great to welcome newbies!
BKM - Glad to hear that your Big Knight is moving about. Your DD and the concert sound like fun! Can I come? Have a great time!
MEL - An online SL@H show hmmm.. Maybe an email show!
LIZ & QUIV - Thanks for the BMR info. My numbers from both calculations didn't even come close. Need to look at that again! LIZ - great to see your posts!
MONET - Thanks for the pics. Glad you and Deb were able to meet! Suggestion after the wallpaper. Clean the area you just took it off of with a cleaner to help get rid of any remaining paste (ask the Home Depot folks what to use - it may be as simple as vinegar and water), then prime! Good luck!
BETH - SOOO sorry to hear about your kids being sick! You did the right thing by telling the daycare. Sounds like a sour puss took your call though, some people can be so rude!
POOCH - We're all wishing your DD luck with our WOE. When the time is right for her she'll do this! Tea is not a bad thing for her to drink, especially green tea with an artificial sweetener!
KIMMY - Your pics on the board are INSPIRING! You look great! I need to put on my old pants and take one of those pics! BTW - Your fireplace is pretty!
FILLISE - Get back on the wagon girl! :D
BOB - In case I didn't say it, I applaud your first year of "smoke-freeness!" Way to go!
Well, that is all for now! Hope you all have a great day!

Good Sunday Morning to All! Tomorrow marks a week on SB, and I have not fallen for any sugar cravings or carbs! Funny, I have looked at things, thought about carbs, but never acted on it! :) Today I am going to marinate chicken breasts in good legal stuff, and cook them up for dinner and for tomorrow's lunch and dinner, I figured that way I don't need to obsess over food, which I do!!!
Fillise: You are a hoot! I can picture myself doing exactly what you did! I look forward to the day when I don't suffer so from the pollen :)
Monet: Now I am going to have to look up Bulgar Wheat :)
SEF: Thanks for the inspiration, I made a wonderful sauce and froze some of it too for future meals.
FROG: Thank you for the welcome. I am glad I found this board!

It goes right along the river. Pretty soon it will be filled with lots of campers and I won't be able to walk there. So I'm trying to enjoy it while I can. Today I'm just plain pooped so this might be a take it easy day for me. Besides it kind of looks like rain here. Made DH and I a nice omelet for breakfast and hopefully this Good Sunday morning to all. Just starting some wash and trying to catch up here on the computer. Did my evening I'm going to try to make some wheat tacos. Sound strange?!! I got the shells at the health food storgrocery shopping done yesterday and also took a good walk. Theres a nice campground near me to walk in. e. I love tacos so we'll see...
Fillise- You know if you were perfect you wouldn't be on this board. Or human!!! To me the most greatest thing is you have the ability to jump right back on the horse and go again. So as always you're my hero!
Monet-Sounds like you had a great day. Would have loved to gone to a Middle Eastern grocery Store.
Sef- Hope you enjoyed your day. We all need one of those!!!
Tranquil- Sorry about your allerigies. Sounds like allot of people of are having trouble. Our spring is getting started a little late so we haven't got our green stuff yet. But we have tons of oak trees in our yard and lots of woods around us so it will sure get awful soon.
I have the same problem figureing out if I'm eating right or enough or to much!!!!!
Don't know how I lost the first half of my post. Darn it.. I can get so messed up on a computer I need a scientist to straighten me out. Anyway I hope everyone has a great Sunday...

HiedieHo All!!!!
It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood!!!!! Think I will read Sunday papers in the yard!!
FILLISE - By the power inbvested in me as a memebr of this Board, I hereby grant you absolution!! For penance thou shalt stick to your woe all day tomorrow and report to the other memebrs if you have been successful. As my penance for trying to be such a big shot I will do the same!!!! You know to find glass out west is something, as a lot of glass and china did not make it across the plains. I find those types of item are more expensive here. As are most all antiques!!!
FROG - Ooooooooh! I'm jealous! Not only did you meet Deb but you got to play SCRABBLE! My favorite game!!!! Next, I think, would be Trivia. Sounds like you had a great time!
How nice if you came to N.O. you would see me too!! I sure am one of the sights!!!!!
Well, the patio is calling!!
Take care all!! Shirley

Fillise - Don't feel so bad re: falling off the wagon. I think sometimes it helps, as it lets you let go for a while, then you can jump back on again (kind of like releasing the pressure).
I didn't confess earlier, but here goes - totally oFFplan for the Easter weekend! I had honeybaked ham for Easter dinner, plus DP had meat and potatoes all weekend. Even the noodles my DM cooked were potato noodles! I found that out after having a serving! I didn't plan to go offplan so badly but here we are.
I've been frustrated with not losing but happy about not gaining - still not exercising so I can't expect much. But I finally realized how much wine I had started to drink since SB (since beer is a no-no, I've been substituting wine when we go out). I stopped that just before Easter. And voila, down 2-4#! Frankly, I asked DH if he knocked the scale by accident, I couldn't believe it after the Easter weekend.
So, shall we hop back on the wagon? :)

Good Afternoon!
Well, I've been MIA for a day or so and while I was gone - FILLISE you are not alone - I've been REAL bad! We boiled 46 pounds of crawfish yesterday and we had the works to go along with it - sausage, potatoes, corn, mushrooms and onions! YUM YUM!! And to add to it all I drank 13 beers! HAHA! As BOB would say - OH MY GAWD! I had a blast and I know I should regret it but I don't! I'm going to Sugar Buster **** as of today! And the best part of it all - I weighed a pound less than yesterday morning. I'm sure that will all catch up with me in a few days!!
FROG: I would love to have a party here. A friend of mine is getting married in November and we could do a bridal shower for her - what do you think?
POOCH: My new favorite show is trading spaces. I absolutely love it! I especially love when the people hate what was done to their house. Did you see the episode where Hildie put straw on the walls of someone's living room?!? VOMIT! It was so ugly!
MONET: Glad you got to meet Deb - I can't wait to meet her myself!
SHEANN & GOTTA: Where are you!?!?
Well, let me run -I'm going lay in the sun and work on my tan! See y'all later!

FRUIT - October/November would be a lovely time, perhaps I could work that into my 10th wedding anniversary with a trip to N.O. too! Now that's an idea!
If you are serious I will send you the new catalog when it comes out in June. I will send you a current one if you'd like to peak at it. I will be able to get some of the current ones on Thursday. Much of the goodies in this catalog will be carried over into the next catalog. Send me your address via my email.
You just let me know where and when! :D
BTW - I love Trading Spaces too. Watch it whenever I can. I saw the "straw" episode. I love Frank and Vern! The guy with the California hair is a jerk and was not nice to the couple he worked with last night! Did you see it?

FROG: That sounds great! I'll talk to my friend and check the LSU schedule and get back to you on a date. Meanwhile - you tell your husband that you are making plans for your anniversary! HAHA! I'd love to show you around New Orleans at least one of the days that you are here - also take you to the plantations that are close to my house. You would love it! Thanks!
OH - didn't see Trading Spaces last night - we had it on in the living room and some of my friends were watching it but I was playing SEGA with one of my friends while it was on....wasn't that straw just aweful!?!

Well it looks like several of us have had a free for all this week end. I'm afraid I did a BIG  :nono: yesterday too. My BIL, the one that almost died back in the fall had a 60th Birthday gathering yesterday. We had (& I do mean me too) BBQ, potatoe salad, baked beans, corn on the cob (I didn't eat that), pasta salad, & cake. I ate a left over piece of the one with icing that my gs left plus a large piece of the strawberry shortcake which was made with angel food cake, fresh strawberries, & FF Kool whip. Oh DEAR!:o
Well needless to say, I came home & had a simple green salad for supper. Ate a small salad for lunch too
Tonight is our first sunday supper at church & we're doing international foods. I've been busy in the kitchen since yesterday late evening & again today since we're home from church. I made Tabouli, hummus, & Israeli salad with yougart dressing last night, then today I did a Chick Pea Salad that I found from a Jewish cookbook, & got a Greek Spinach Pie in the oven now. Hey, it all fits into SB legal foods & if there's leftover, I won't need to cook the rest of the week, ;) which would help because we have a REALLY busy week ahead of us.
Sorry I don't have time to respond, but I did get to do a quick scan of the posts. SEF & FRUIT, I'll be getting back with both of you to see if we can work out a date. Missy, you teach, right??? So it would have to be a Saturday???? It looks like maybe May 18th might be the first available Saturday for me. What do both of you think about then??? Sef, it won't be tooooo hot then...LOL
Well got to run.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
Sorry I've been MIA this week. It's the end of SEASON and we've been extremely busy.. ROSALIE all of your surrounding neighbors should be arriving home any time now. We've started pushing them toward I-75 as gently as we can. Our little city is looking forward to a little R&R before the next influx of SUMMER TOURISTS start arriving.
Now don't get me wrong...we're luckier than most FLA towns...we don't have any commercialism here, so the winter months are the worst traffic wise.
WELCOME TO ALL YOU NEW CHICKS!!!!
Glad you're here and hope you stick around for a while.
FRUIT 13 BEERS???? OH>>>>MY>>>>GAWD!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!! Glad you got all that out of your system while Debbie was gone.... :s:
SUSAN How's that head a banging today???? I love margarita's and I love MEXICAN FOOD ....how's that tummy today???
The following is what I've come up with for myself...I'm doing
35 - 35 - 30
Breakfast (400 calories)
Carbs 140 calories 35 grams
Protein 140 calories 35 grams
Fat 120 calories 13 grams
This comes to 1800 calories a day..What do you guys think?
FROG So glad you had a good time. I love Hendersonville. I have an Aunt and Uncle who live there so I've spent quite a bit of time in the area. I had the pleasure of meeting Deb's Mom, Dad and Sister while I was at the DETOX DUNGEON...You're right...everyone needs to meet them..
MELF...loved the joke...I've passed it on...
Hope EVERYONE is seriously thinking about the NORTH CAROLINA BEACH TRIP ...we really do have a great time when we get together.
Think about it.... ;)
BKM SO glad the surgery went well..I had my fingers crossed for hime the whole time. He'll do fine and will be knocking down people in no time. Tell him to behave himself!

Thank you everyone for being so supportive. I love you all. I'm basking in your warmths before the dungeon mistress gets back on the board!
Now here's how I've been bad today.
After dinner tonight calorie consumption for the day will be under 1000.
OK, so I forgot to set the clocks last night and when I woke up at 7:30 I realized it was 8:30, which is when I'm supposed to be at church to open everything up for Sunday School. So needless to say, no breakfast.
I came home and had a ham sandwich and some oat bran pretzels, but was still kind of discombopulated by the time change and laid down for a nap--I woke up a few minutes before five. The killer black bean soup is simmering on the stove for dinner, but even eating three cups of that, I'm still under 1000 calories.
TOM came yesterday so the stomach is crampy and I haven't felt the least bit hungry all day. I have to go back to church tonight, where there will be all kinds of illeagal treats, but I think if I make it through, I'll stop on the way home for some SF icecream.
Sad2bme--SB is an actual way of eating (WOE) and this is a terrific support group. You can buy the book (or check it out at the library) to find out the basics of this WOE. In general, we eat a low-glycemic diet. That means we do not eat sugar, white flour, white potatoes, corn, or rice. The theory is that there is a connection between insulin production and weight gain. I hope you'll give it a try! I've been doing this for a year and a half and have lost 65 lbs. We have many success stories here and we'd love to add yours to them!
BOB--ha! Remind me to stay off I-95 for the next few weeks. I think your plan looks good--it is easier to make sure that things average out over the entire day rather than trying to hit a specific goal for each nutrient at each meals. That's the beauty of fitday for me--it lets me see averages over the day, week and month.
Melf--I LOVE the way you fall off the wagon. Cake--but by GAWD-- no corn!!!! I've thought Exactly the same way myself. Come on in--the sinner's corner is getting crowded!
Fruit--Man that sounds like a good feed--even if it was off program. Come on in--I'm passing out the lashes.
Tree--we got room for you too!
Sef--thanks for you absolution. I need it! I was surprised to find the glassware I did in Washington State--but I found some beautiful serving pieces.
Frog--Glad to hear you are home safely and that you had a wonderful time with Deb and her kids. Um, when will those films premier over the internet. When you come this way to visit family, I'd love to have you do a show here!
Got to go have soup and head to to church.
Again, you really don't know what your support means to me. You girls are the greatest!

I think we're all gonna be in it tomorrow. I just a a BIG helping of potato salad, and it wasn't made from sweet potatoes, either. I really want a major illegal dessert now, and will probably give in. Sometimes I think us listing how we cheated just makes me crave what everybody else cheated with! But so far I've resisted the 13 beers:o Good grief FRUIT, how in the world could you count at that point? I think 2 would have me under the table now. Way out of practice  Deb's gonna lock us all up when whe gets back.
Sef-Loved your jokes a few pages ago. Particularly the chipmunks. NH's must be more entertaining than I thought. I also used to have a lot of carnival glass, mostly the yellowy. My GM was an antique dealer, and had huge collections of carnival and American cut glass, and Rose Medallion china. She left it all to me, and I had no idea what to do with it all or what it was worth:o I gave away or sold almost all the carnival glass, but kept the cut and the Rose Medallion. When I found out what it was all worth, I was amazed. The smallest collection was the Rose Medallion, which I decided I loved and would collect. That's when I found out how much that stuff is worth. I don't have anymore than what GM left me:( .
Frog- Sounds like you had a great time! I really enjoyed my time with Deb (except the after-effects of her beloved Carbolite!) and wish I'd gotten to meet the rest of her crew. Are you no longer doing speech(or is it audoi?) path and are looking for a new career path or is the SL@H stuff a fun side-line? Are you still BFL'ing? How's it going? I know you've been thru chaos for the last few weeks.
Fillise- It sounds like a fun fall off the wagon- hope your head doesn't hurt too much today!
Monet- What is "the look"?
gotta scoot- ds is yelling something. WIll try to be better at posting next week.

HiedieHo All!!!!
Friends! There are those of us here who have sinned against the almighty SBWOE.
Do I hear an AMEN?
We have have turned our faces from the one thing that will save our waists!!!
Give me an AMEN!!
Are we going to continue down this path of forbidden foods, satans drink and....worst of all....desserts? Verily I say unto you, if we continue on our way of gluttony we will no longer fit into those size 6s, 12, 18s, 20s.
We must arm ourselves with fortitude, determination and legality in our food choices. We must praise the almighty SBWOE and get a grip on our lassitude.
A loud AMEN!!!
All those who want to be saved come before our staunch leader, Deb,. beseech her to put us all into her Detox Dungeon that we may puge ourselves of illicit goodies.
We WILL overcome, we WILL get back on track, we WILL forgive ourselves our cheats and go on to the great SB way of life with mouths that will only open when there is the right amount of proper food before us!!
Go and try to sin no more!!! AMEN! AMEN!
This message has been brought to you by a big old demented lady who has way too much time on her hands!!!! :joker:

evening all. Sorry Ive been MIA but its been a pretty busy week.
My mom had cataract surgery on Thursday morning so I had to stay at her house Wed. night , then I had to stay Thursday nite to make sure she didnt have any problems, then off for a followup on Friday, then ran errands for her Sat, and took her to church this morning.
Still the same on the scales at 180. I started doing the Leslie Sansone walk off the lbs tape Monday to get me in shape so I can try the treadmill again. Ive have hip problems so I have to take it kinda easy when I walk for now.
Trying to stay OP. I wish I could find some other food journal to use besides Fitday. I find I dont use it much as it takes to much effort to add new items.
Well guess I will go for now. Will try and keep in touch better next week.

Hello all you Sunday evening lurkers!
SEF - AMEN SISTER!!! Ever given much thought to writing sermons? That was quite the fire and brimstone!
MEL - Yes I am still doing speech-language pathology. I only work 30 hours per week (Mon-Thrus) and am usually home early 3 or so days a month because of meetings. DH and I agreed over a year ago that if I went back to work 4 days and took care of the housework, etc on Fridays that he ouwld support my being a part-timer. I still get benefits which are so-so, but I like what I do and where I work. I work for the state of NC and we are in a huge state budger crisis. We are not getting a pay raise this year and we get very little money for travel and education. I thought the SL@H thing would be a good way to earn some extra income and get decorative items for my home that are appealing to me. If I should be fortunate enough to have more business than I can handle with a 30 hour per week job then I will examine that when I come to it, but for now I am gonna strike out on the SL@H thing and see where it takes me. Regarding BFL - I have faithfully continued to work out 6 times a week and have changed my routine to match my travel needs when necessary. I purchased a set of dumbbells from Wal-Mart to take with me on vacation for those times when I can't get to the gym. I miss running though. Ran with Deb Friday and it was great to be outside. The pollen is so bad here that I can't exercise outside for a little bit longer. :( I haven't seen the fat loss that I would like, I blame my diet for that. I also don't think I am losing like I should, again I blame my diet for that. I think alot of little hidden calories here and there are sabotagging me! I really need to get more committed to eating "clean." I will start week 10 tomorrow. I don't anticipate taking a break between this challenge and the next. Perhaps I can get more charged up for the 2nd challenge. I think now that I understand weight lifting better I will be more successful during the second challenge. DH commented that he wants to do the next challenge with me. Have you found that you were better prepared for the 2nd challenge? I will have my body fat analyzed again in a few weeks so I can see how I've done the past month or so. :?:
FRUIT - DH thought the trip to NO was a great idea! :D Please don't feel pressured or obligated in anway to host a show because we've talked briefly about it, but IF you do want to, I'll be thrilled to come down there and do it for you.
Well, time for a shower and to do the Sunday night nails while I watch Six Feet Under.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Peace,
FROG

Hey y'all!
Look at us!! Everyone has come to the confessional this Sunday!!! How funny is that! You know the saying - The Cats away so the mice will play!! Well mice, play time comes to an end as of tonight cause DEB is coming home!!!
Y'all - 13 BEERS is not that much for me over an entire day. After all - I started at 11 am and stopped at 11pm. And in between that at some point I had a crown and coke - but just one! Amazingly - I wasn't even the slightest bit drunk - I guess because it was over a 12 hour period.
MELF: May 18th sounds good to me! Yes, I do teach so I will have to do a weekend unless you want to wait until summer - which starts June 4th for me. I have my vocal cord surgery on June 11th and I won't be able to talk for 2 weeks so those 2 weeks will be out! HAHA! Let me know when you want to get together.
TONI: You would have had a really good time if you were here yesterday! Have you ever eaten crawfish - boiled our way that is? I'm sure you would love them! And you just can't have boiled crawfish without beer - kinda like wine and cheese!!! I knew that I had 13 because I drank the 12 pack of bottles that I had and then drank one of my hubby's cans!! LOL!!! Oh -well - next time you'll have to be here to enjoy with me!
FROG: I would love for you to come!!! That would be awesome! I didn't realize that you were a speech pathologist. You know ...I have to go to speech once I have my surgery for my polyp and nodule. Boy - I'm looking forward to that! Luckily, I live about 1 mile from the college here and I have spoken to the speech dept. there and I will be able to go for free. They always need people to work on - to train their students.
SEF: WOW - I feel like going to church now!! You go sista!!
OK - I'm heading out before the CAT comes back! See y'all later!

Good evening all.
Thought I would try to read the weekend posts so I won't have so many Monday morning. Spent the weekend working int he yard. Today was nice, high 60's. Cleaned out my closet today. got 6 boxes of old clothes. It was a good feeling when they were too big. Some still fit but I was just tired of them. I keep my clothers forever. I had boxes of clothes stored all over the house. Sizes from 7 to 24. I tried everything on. and starting pitching. My DD told me to throw out a lot of stuff. Said it looked like I belonged in the 30's. How would she know? I guess 15 years is to long to hold on to things. But some styles do come back. Luckily I won't have to buy many new clothes for the summer. I have a few I can fit into that will suffice. I hate to buy until I get where I want to be.
Beth, how awful about your family being sick. I hope everyone is feeling better soon. Man you have had a time lately. Things surely will start to look up for you. Hope the job comes thru for you. Watch the codine. It makes me see things.
Lizery, that was an image I really did not need.
BKM, so glad to hear your son is doing good. Birthday wishes to your DD. I'm sure she will love the concert. You might even enjoy it too.
Sef, hope you are feeling better soon. The spaghetti sauce sounds good. Think I will make some tomorrow.
Pooch, glad to hear your dd has started SB. I wish I could get mine to do the same. She is getting married in 13 mos. and could stand to loose about 50#. But, you can't tell someone. They have to want to do it. SHe tried SB for 3 weeks, lost 3 the first week and gained the next. I knew it would take big losses to keep her interested. My 19 yr old told me she was trying it (she is away at college) but when we went out for dinner Sat, she ordered fries. Oh well. I just don't want them to get like I was. It is soo hard the older you get. Hope your DD stays with it.
Kimmy, Snow?? We're not that far away. It was cold here, but sunny. I hope Spring is close.
Monet, sounds like you and Deb had a good time. I love to play games but no one else in my famil likes to.
Fillsie, Shame on you! (just kiddinging) I'm just jealous cause I didn't get one of those margarits. I would kill for one. I think that is the thing I miss the most. Don't beat yourslef up. Your were smart to get right back OP Sat. Everyone falls of the wagon sometime. Just get back on quickly before it runs over you,
Frog, What a wonderfule trip you had, Sounds like tons of fun and laughter. The SL@H lady eplained the shower about the same way. She wants to have a pampered cehf party which works the same way. They had some ciars decored with netting and flowers so now she wants the bridal table fixed like that. She has champagne taste and I have the beer pocketbook.
Tranquil, Congrats on your first week on SB. Now make it 2. It rally gets easier as you go. I don't even think about food anymore (other than planning my meals and carbs.
Sef, Loved your sermon, Had me LOL. You all shouldn't be afraid of Deb. As I remember, I think last Wed, someone reported that she actually ate brownies. That would be the pot calling the kettle black. Thanks for the sermon.
Fruit, You must be kin to my DH. That's about how many he likes to drink. That's why I'm always the DD.
Well, been here an hour. My neck is getting stiff. I hate this computer. Have a good nite all.

Hi everybody another week has begun. Hope you all have a awesome week ahead. My last week was really crappy and hopefully I can make this one a little better. I never had a chance to read over anyone's posts for awhile so it will take a little bit to catch up. Has everyone been doing their plans? I need advice on how to keep going and not give up. I can get going o.k. but then about 2 days I fall again. Each time it is getting harder to get back on that horse. I'm sure all you guys know what I am talking about. PLEASE GIVE ALL THE ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE. Take care till tomorrow everyone. G :?:

I found some Snyders Of Hanover pretzel bites... the flour says UNBLEACHED WHEAT FLOUR..... are these legal? There's no added sugar... just that flour, water, soybean oil. soy flour, salt garlic, yeast, dairy flabors, spices, parsley, soda.
That's the garlic toast flavor. I bought a bag, but waiting to hear before I eat em. Since I was a GOOD GIRL (anyone hear the sound of sucking up? LOLOL!!)and have stayed OP ALL WEEKEND. Well... actually I've been OP since I started :P LOL!! Only because I know if I fall off the wagon, it's liable to run me OVER!
Oh, and we have a Bread store here where they bake their own bread and sell it... and on Thursday they're baking Whole Grain Whole Wheat Sourdough.... no sugar!!! I ordered 2 loaves.. they'll be baked that morning, and sliced when they cool at about 2 when I can pick them up! YUM!!!!! I bought some great meat and cheese already for them!
OK... See Y'all on the FlipSide!

OK the Deb silence is starting to worry me.
You don't think she got home, read the board, got back in the car and is now coming after us all?
Do you?
Somehow, I'm fearing this knock on the door in the middle of the night and it's the dungeon mistress dragging me out of the house and putting me on the rack.
Fruit, are you there? I figure she'll get to my house before she gets to yours. I'll try to send a warning.
