Mornin' All! :coffee:

DH woke me up late this AM, it was like 6:30! :yikes: So I ran around and still managed to get to work a few minutes before 8. So now I'm drinking coffee and waking up.

I have a new responsibility today, and he's high maintenance. He's totally ADHD, I would bet money on it. Runs at 150% all the time, and expects everyone else to also. Thinks he's the CEO, but he's just a Director. Anyway, my boss was going to remind him that I have 2 little kids at home, am NOT trying to climb the corporate ladder, and not everyone wants to work 15 hrs. a day. :lol3: I may have to go back to the 9-6 schedule, which will suck, and may need to have a blackberry, which may also suck. But I'm feeling positive overall about it. I already provide backup support to him, so not much will change.

Did everyone see my self-indulgent post from last night? Go check it, I'm proud of it. Then I'll get off my high horse.

Have a great day all!

Lauren, WTG!!! It's funny how once you start watching the caloric intake, it becomes easier and you're less hungry, right?? Keep it up!!

Valerie, hope you are feeling better today and able to get yourself out and walking!! It really was a CRUMMY day weather-wise yesterday, wasn't it? We just sat around and watched movies.

Alicia, hope you are doing well!!

Welcome to the newbies!!!

Well, got in my walk, 2 loads of wash and cleaned one bathroom, just had breakfast...I'm lovin' the energy I have lately!!! My GF dropped off her girls a bit ago, they're just gonna play all day with my kids. I am cleaning/doing laundry (my usual Monday routine) and that's about it!!

Hope everyone has a super day!!

2 threads started so I will say on both. I am headed to my parents' house this morning and I have supper out tonight w/a friend. It won't be hard to get a healthy meal, though. I got up early and exercised, took my vitamins, had egg whites and am almost done w/my first water bottle (24 oz) so I am on a roll--good for me. Have a good day everyone! Rikki

Good Morning everyone!! All is going well so far today. DH has to take our youngest (4) to the dentist today. Last night he was running and fell and hit his mouth on his brothers knee :stars: and bent his top tooth backward and knocked out a bottom tooth! Good thing dad is laid off and can take him - I guess we have to always look on the bright side of the situation! Other than that, all is well. I got in my workout, and will be heading off to school in about an hour. Then back to work till 5, and maybe I will be motivated to walk the bike trail with the kids later. I guess that will depend on how Caleb is feeling! My poor baby!! :( The good thing is, my new meds must be helping, because I was amazingly calm through the whole thing - I didn't freak out once!

Anyway, hope everyone has a good day!

Rikki - sounds like you had a great start for a Monday morning!

pmasci - Wow, wish I had that kind of energy on a Monday morning!!

Lauren - Good job on the calorie counting!

Have a good day everyone!

Oh - and I lost 2 1/2 lbs - Yay!! :carrot:

08-11-2008, 09:46 AM
Hey girls, I got us cleaned up on the threads!

Pam, where's all the energy coming from girl? :cheer: And did you mean you did all that already this AM??? It would take me at least 2 hrs. to clean my bathroom!

Rikki, have fun at dinner with your friend tonight! :)

08-11-2008, 09:47 AM
Holly, Poor Caleb! Hope he wasn't/isn't in too much pain!

08-11-2008, 09:49 AM
:wave:Good morning and hello to all.

I have been gone for awhile seems like forever. I am back at work. I am so tired. Not used to getting up early after a two week off period.

I did alot of research last week on weight loss. I got on a site call mypyramid.gov. It was very good. I really have to get with it and stick with it. I did really well this weekend.

Took the girls to the doctor on Friday and they got their 12 yr old shots. That was not fun. One of them passed out and starting throwing up. Not good.

The younger one is gonna have to start eating right. Her blood pressure was a little high for her age. They did blood work to check cholesterol. So we will see what happens.

So now we are all watching what we eat. I can't let this affect my children.

Got on the site and did my grocery list by the food pyramid. I also got some low fat recipes. So the grocery shopping went really well. It actually seemed more organized with a list than without one.

I have a sinus infection so I am on antibiotics. I am hating them. I just need to make sure that I eat yogurt.

Well have a good one and hello to all the new guys and congrats on everyones weight loss.

Holly, Poor Caleb! Hope he wasn't/isn't in too much pain!

Lauren, amazingly, he didn't cry much. My 13 yo cried more since it was his knee that caused the damage!! He felt really bad about it. We gave him some Tylenol anyway and will wait and see what the dentist says today. He was asleep when I left, so not sure how he is feeling this morning!

08-11-2008, 10:36 AM
Hey girls...

Rikki...sounds like you're off to a great start!! Keep it up girl!!

Holly, hope you're baby's okay!!! Man that would freak me out. Hope you're 13 yo is alright as well. That must've been one traumatic event.

Fergi, good to see you again!! I was wondering where you have been!! HOpe that this new approach is helpful, and that you have the whole family eating healthy in no time!!

Lauren, I think it's eating less and moving again that's doing it. I hadn't exercised since the kiddos got out of school, and had been majorly tired. Last week I started getting up early and doing my old two mile walk/jog, and combined with the calorie cut, I just think I'm feeling way better. And Mondays are always my cleaning day. I just have to vacuum the downstairs and mop the kitchen and I'm dunzo!!!

Okay, back to work...just need to log my water intake..c-ya!!

Morning All!!! :coffee::coffee:

I think this may be a good week. No more tummy bug, AF is on her way out, AND going back to the gym today. :smug: Went on the scale the other day and lost 1 1/2 lbs. So yet another reason to smile :smug:

LBH--- going to have to look for your other post ;)

pmasci--- WOWSERS!! You are on a Cleaning Mission. You did ALL that this am??? Care to come to my house and breeze on through everything. I don't mind ;)

RLK2005---- Way To Go on your good start to the morning. Have fun this evening enjoying your healthy meal. :)

hollymommy---- OUCH :eek: about your lil guys tooth. Hoping that the dentist sez it is a quick and easy fix.

Fergi---- Welcome back! Good luck with the Food Pyrimid, let us know if it works out for you and your family, and how well everyone adjusts to it.

Well off to do a load of laundry--- chat later. :chockiss:

Good morning everyone!

pmasci - Can I please have some of your energy?! Good for you for getting all of that done this morning!

Lauren - Good luck with your new "responsibility". It's nice to hear how positive you are about things!

Holly - I hope your boys are feeling better! Congrats on the 2 1/2 lbs gone!!

Fergi - your trip to the doctor's sure doesn't sound like much fun! I hope your kids have recovered! Good for you for helping your family work towards a healthier lifestyle. Hopefully your sinus infection is almost gone.

Good morning to everyone else!

Yesterday we went for a great hour-long walk with the kids. I pushed the stroller and the trails we were on were kind of sandy and there were some hills so it felt like a good workout! I've been pretty good this past week, lots of exercise and better with my eating (although far from perfect), but I was still up a couple of pounds this morning!! I'm not happy about that but I'm trying to be patient. It'll all pay off!

Have a great day everyone!

08-11-2008, 11:30 AM
PearFreak - sorry, missed your post! I'm glad you're feeling better and way to go on another 1 1/2 lbs gone!!

08-11-2008, 12:42 PM
Good day, Ladies!
Lois Lane, You're right, it was! Lunch with the girls, and In-laws made me a turkey, and cake. (I told my Dad, and he said "Gave you a turkey?" No, Dad, they cooked it!) Only prob, DD still in Alberta visiting, and the Man working in Ft. Mac, so alone. But not lonely, you know?
Pmasci, excellent work, my girl! Are you strutting around proudly? (Like a captain?)
Hollymommy, good job not freaking, it's hard to not show how upset you are, and your big kid has a tender heart (and a sore knee!)
Fergi, When I shop, I try not to forget everything, but I've never made a plan for a whole week. It's a good idea.
Pearfreak, glad your tum isn't rotten anymore!

Hopefully, I can get the deck stained a bit today. I'm actually getting through my to-do's. (In time for my I-do's? --hyuk, hyuk!)
Today is my last day of my free 3 days at the gym, and I am going to do everything I can. Oh, YEAH, baby!

08-11-2008, 01:20 PM

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone!:hug: I appreciate it!

Well, he is home from the dentist. His top tooth was snapped off at the root, so they had to pull it. They numbed it and then pulled it and had to dig around for the root, my husband says. So now he is missing two teeth and probably won't get his adult teeth for about 2 years. That will make for some interesting pictures this year!! He was in speech for a couple years already and has a lisp - not sure how this will affect his speech!! :stress: I am only freaking out on the inside, though!! That is so much better than before!

08-11-2008, 01:27 PM
Good morning Ladies.

Holly--Oh that poor kid! Teeth stuff always scares me.

I got up at 6.00, unloaded the dishwasher, got everyone's milk ready and left at 6.30 for my nordic walking. It was a cloudy day today, just perfect.
But now , my back is killing me. I was rear ended by a dump truck last year and my back hurts from time to time. I took 2 ibuprofen and have an appt to see the doc on Wed.

08-11-2008, 01:40 PM
asaan, hope your back feels better soon!!! Great job on the walk. Feels good to get out & get it done, eh?

Pear, glad to hear you are feeling better!!

guppy, yes, patience is the key!! Keep working hard & you will see results!!

Kori...you're killing me with the Captain girl!! Ah, he may make a visit again this weekend..hehe. Hope you milk the gym day for all it's worth!

Holly, eewww, sounds painful for the little one. Glad everything's okay overall , though. Yeah, pics should be cute, lol!!

Having lunch. Kids are eating & watching Freaky Friday...good flick. They are having a great time with their friends. Will check in later!

08-11-2008, 03:07 PM
Holly--I feel for your little guy! My DS did something similar when he was 2.5years old and had to have 1 tooth pulled. He talks about it all the time and can't wait for that tooth to come back in (he's 4.5 now). I do think it can be harder on us than them! :) I hope he recovers well.

Hello everyone else...off to rest!

08-11-2008, 03:27 PM
hi everyone!

Pam you are amazing, I wish I had a little of your energy, good for you!

Kari good luck staining the deck! are you going back to work? why are you not going to be able to go to the gym?

guppy be patient, you are doing great! the Lbs. may not show right away, but you do start feeling better and better, and your clothes will start showing it too!

assaaan take it easy with your back!

Rikki have a good time at your parents and have a good time at dinner

Holly sorry about the little one, the good thing is he is young and he has adult teeth coming in eventually

Fergi you are a good mom, it is a good thing you are taking care of your girls health now, they will learn so much from you, and they will be greatfull when they are older, I am going to visit the site! sounds interesting.

Pear that is good you don't have the bug anymore, it is funny I had a bug too, my stomach would hurt after I ate anything for about a week and today I am doing a lot better!

Lauren you got your hands full with your new "responsability"
good luck!

Have you seen Lisa? how is she doing?

 to anyone I missed!

I had a busy weekend. DH worked all weekend. it was very hot and humid, Saturday we went to the pool and it was great! yesterday we stayed home all day with the AC on! of course!
cleaned the garage and got rid of a lot of junk, that felt great!
I did get a new computer, I ended up getting a MAC book, I love it! now I need to learn how to use it! but it has been fun so far! I am so excited I am knitting a very pretty and complicated sweater for myself, I am almost done, I am about to finish one sleeve, all I have left to do is the other sleeve and put it together, when I have it all done I will show you guys, it has been quiet a project!
got to go for now!
see you guys later!

08-11-2008, 05:17 PM

Everyone else hi! ...my little one ran off and I've gotta go chase him...counting down the days until I start with Metabolic......

08-11-2008, 05:17 PM
Hello everyone
Hope everyone is doing well. I was not able to post since last Tuesdya as iwas doing a lot of running around. Unfortunately the running around seemed to have an opposite effect on my weight as the scale this morning said I gained 2.2 pounds. I'm hoping that most of it is water weight as it is THAT time. Plus I had quite a bit of salty food and realized I haven't been going to the little girl's room as often as i usually do.

I'm hoping to get some walking in this week as well. Sometimes I think the weather is out to sabotage me as everytime I actually have the time to walk on the beach, the rain falls. When outside is beautiful and I'm ready and rearing to to go I end up having to complete a last minute assignment for work.

I'm hoping today is better...

08-11-2008, 07:09 PM
Pam - I just watched the Olympics yesterday all day. I still have a headache and I'm so tired. I worked all day then went to the grocery store, the home to unload and I still have to do some laundry from the trip to the shore saturday. I think I feel bad because I haven't walked in three days!!!

Holly... sorry about your kiddos. Just be glad they weren't permanent teeth. Give them hugs from their Auntie Poppyseeds!! LOL :)

Asaan... hope your back starts to feel better. Nothing worse than back pain.

Hi to everyone else. I'm going to take some Advil and rest for a little while. I am determined to walk tonight. It's very cool here so I don't want to waste the night...

08-11-2008, 10:02 PM
Hello All! I have missed you! I am back from our week in NY with the inlaws...and only one argument about golf...other than that, I was completely pleasant with them and let them run our lives for the week...and believe me, that is an accomplishment. I tried to catch up as best I could and can see everyone has been busy, busy...plus a lot of newbies here.

Welcome and hello to all!

Poppy- saw your comment on sparkpeople...it was hard to be away...I am hoping for not too much damage at weigh in on Wed. and thanks for the comment about the kids...I think they are beautiful too! You are quite wrapped up in the olympics! I am having some issues with it being held in China but trying not to hold it against anything or anyone.

Hanna- Knitting sounds more complicated than the MAC... wish I had the time to learn.

Lauren- Congrats on your smart choices and calorie watching.

Fergi- hope the sinus thing goes away quickly...feel better.

holly and pear- congrats on weight loss

chriscross- what is this metabolic thing? I don't know anything about it.

Guppy, Rikki, kickemjenny, asaaan, p and toni- hello!

Cheryl- read your bio--love the Vera Bradley!!! We will have to compare pieces/patterns...I am addicted!

Take care all and will write more soon! -Erin

08-11-2008, 10:19 PM
Erin... I love the Olympics. Especially the gymnastics!!! I don't care that it's held in China... after all they did save the games in 1984 when Russia tried to boycott us in Los Angeles. The spirit of the games is to let go of the outside world disagreements and allow the athletes to compete. I think that's why I love it so much... a break from reality. I loved it as a kid too... Olga Korbut, Nadia, Mary Lou and Kerri Strug!!! OMG! How can you not love it?!?!?!? LOL

I'm glad you had a nice trip. You fought over golf? LOL Do you golf or do they? How do you fight over golf? I guess if no one comes home with a 3-iron sticking out of their butt, it's a good day on the course!!!!

Have a great nite everyone!!

08-11-2008, 10:50 PM
Hey all, I am still around but lurking more. I have found another website that I am also on. Those that have my facebook info can always leave me a message there too.

I am working 6 days this week. Last Wed. one of my employees came in and turned in her resignation effective imediatly. (sp?) Anyways, I was supposed to have Saturday off and now I am working. Well thats what a manager does, covers when there is no coverage. Otherwise work is going fine ~ I finally feel like I have my sea legs.

Diet is another story. I havent weighed myself in so long, I don't want to even think about it. Maybe this weekend, since I close on Saturday.

08-11-2008, 11:00 PM
Hi guys,

Just a driveby today. I'm exhausted. We were running all day and then DH wanted to go shopping tonight. He won $500 on a Birthday rub off (lottery ticket) and he gave Alex $20 so they had to go spend it. LOL. Money burns a hole in their pocket. That's OK, it does mine too.

I hope you are all having a great evening!

08-11-2008, 11:11 PM
Evening Ladies!!

Wowsers lots of catching up to do... this thread is full tonight. :smug:

So I went to the gym today. Later then usual... and boy was it full. Meat Heads Galore   ... then my eye caught this guy that looked like a guy I dated years back. Wow, that threw me for a loop. :chin:

Hubs came home from work telling me that they are promoting him. :cb::cb::cb::broc::broc::carrot::carrot: Can you tell I am HAPPY!!! :dizzy: :D This promotion will mean lots more $$$$ and if he were to go elsewheres down the road (not in his plans) his Title and schooling and certs etc follow him and that of course brings $$$$. He has always dreamed of getting to this point in his career and finally everything is falling into place.

So who is it that likes Vera Bradley??? I read quickly, but if any one is talking VB I want in on it. ME=VB Fanatic. :hyper::hyper:

Well off to watch me some Guy on the Food Network.

08-12-2008, 01:26 AM
Hi everyone!

Karen good to see you, how is DH's job going? I hear you on the $ burning a hole in their pockets, it does in mine big time!

Pear I have been also watching the olympics, I LOVE THEM!!! I think all the athletes are amazing they all try so hard!

I had a good day today, cleaned house and had lunch with a friend at a new sushi restaurant in town, I had something on the menu called "heart attack" it was a dish of seafood with out rice with jalapeno peppers and cream cheesse, it was to die for! mmmm...
the afternoon with DS went very smoothly, he is really enjoying the summer camps, he is in Baseball camp this week.
I was about to be done with the one sleeve when I dropped a stitch, I was so upset, I had to put it down. I will work on it tomorrow

See you guys in the morning
