Default Non-scale victory!

I just read in the weight loss support section about celebrating our successes. I tend to lay low and lurk, with only an occasional posting over at the Volumetrics Forum. Well, I think it's time I allowed myself a small "hurrah" -

I have been walking the same route for just about a month now, 4-5 mornings a week. It started out just managing to get to the top of that killer hill in the first 1/2 mile (and blowing & wheezing like a old horse). Then, adding an additional mile (round trip - 2 miles). That took a couple weeks. I am now up to a full 3 miles in an hour, I get to the top of that killer hill without stopping - and I like doing it. The part I cannot believe is the liking part of it. I am NOT athletic. "Exercise? What's that???" Getting up at 5:30 a.m. to do the walk - who is this person??? Where did she come from, anyhow!?!?!?!

That is wonderful! It is no awesome to see success measured in things you actually couldn't do before, in addition to the scale. That is just more proof that your body is thanking you for getting healthier!
