Trudy: Thanks for sharing those. My leader does The words of Wisdom every now and again. Its great. Really enjoyed the Dash to. Never read that before.
Glenda: Happy Trails? Great way to put it!
Maria: ALAS.....Sorry to hear your DH didnt make it until Intermission :( And Double ALAS......What they expect you to work now? :)
Slavika: I would of gone out to. You need to protect yourself first. Surprised that others didnt go out to.
Ann: Good to see you! Wondered what happened to you. Sounds like yo have a great Easter planned!
Peggy: I would love to see South Pacific. Hopefully it will come here.
I havent heard of Swing. That would be a great idea to have someone come to your house and get the works. I would pay for it!
Rita: Welcome! Feel free to jump in, we would be happy to have you! We talk about everything. :)
I had a car accident Monday night. It wasnt serious but I rear ended someone :( So I was grumpy yesterday. I havent had an accident in years. ALAS... My poor car is all scratched up and sad :(
Best get to work. Have a great day

Lily Too bad about the accident. I think you are bound to feel worse when you do the rear ending... did that too.
Did you get my e-mail yesterday?.. if so.. is it doable?
I am doing 3 things at once today, baking, roasting and laundry, so far I have stabed myself with a fork, dropped the roaster lid and put a dent in it and broke a nail to the quick. I NEED HELP!
I will come back when I have myself together.. :D

G'day everyone on a very stormy day here in Sydney.
It is quite spectacular to see the lightening over 'THE' Bridge, what is not so spectacular is the traffic which has just about come to a standstill on the Bridge, probably due to the weather.
Rita Welcome, nice to 'see' you. As Lily said we talk about everything and anything, I love it. I personally feel it is nice not to be continually talking about weight like they do on some other sites. It is important to get down to a healthy weight however I feel there is so much more to life than to become obsessed with one's weight and I really feel here that I am coming to 'talk' to friends who have great empathy with weight loss but also with so many other things, the trivial, the humerous and the more serious.
Ann nice to see you 'back' eventhough you were never away! What a pain server problems are. During the night the server here at work was upgraded, in my previous work that always meant the next day problems :(, so far so good.
I agree it is nice to know the kids still miss us. It really makes me feel good that they confide in us (something I never did or could do with my parents) mind you sometimes I do wish they didn't share quite so much, as I tend to be a bit of a worrier :dizzy:
Peggy A number of years ago I took my mother to South Pacific for her birthday. I didn't think I would like it much but knew she would. I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable musicals I have ever seen. I haven't heard of 'Swing'. What luxury to have a beautician come to the house :)
Lily sorry to hear about your accident, pleased you are allright other than your poor car :(, doesn't need too much to get a few 'dings' in a car but a lot of $$$$$ to get rid of them again :(
Trudy hope your day improves!!!! Breaking the nail to the quick I could 'feel' all the way down here:D
I am pleased to say, nothing to do at work today after a couple of hectic days. The meeting I organised yesterday was a great success and as a 'thank you' I was given a large box of Lindt chocolates, just what I need
I have some correspondence (private) to catch up on so that should keep me busy for most of the day.
We have a few busy weeks ahead of us, at Easter we have friends coming, after Easter our daughter and her new dh , then a week after that our son and his girlfriend
Have a very Happy Easter everyone, I will try and check in a few times over the Easter weekend.
Cheers

Trudy your granddog is darling. She looks so lovable. Thanks for sharing the picture. Is your day any better .Ouch! A broken nai like that is painful. Lily hope the person you ran into was nice and not real crabby. Is your car in serious shape? From the t.v. ads Swing is about the old time dancing - jitterbug or whatever is called. It looks like fun. Hi Rita, where in Ohio are you. Just jump on in.

Many thanks Lily, I knew I could count on you to do it :) I have been wanting to put a picture of Jessica up for a while, but never knew how.
I would like to learn how to put pictures on the PC, and then how to post... it seems they never have night school courses for things like that.
I am typing with 9 fingers and it is not easy  Since I am a semi-invalid tonight, my DH cleaned up the kitchen ... I thought that was kind of neat.
I started "The Horse Whisperer" on audio tape today, I really hated leaving it at the gym, I am going to like that story. I haven't seen the movie so I have no idea where the story is going.
Off to see what is on TV tonight, maybe something good will turn up.. any chance of that happening?
Bye for now

Loved Jessica, I bet you miss her Trudy !
Lily I am intrigued by how you do that :dizzy: I checked out the home page for 'WGB Creations' thinking I may find out .
The page is very interesting though does not tell me (at least not free!!!) how to post a photo the way you posted Jessica.
Do you work for that company?????
Please unravel this mystery for me!

Peggy: My car isnt serious. Really scratched up but its the thought I rear ended someone that upsets me. I am always so careful. I think my mind must of been else where. It happened so fast. ALAS.... It will still cost a fortune to get fixed all cars do now a days. :( But really no damage except for the bad scratches and no linscence plate in front. Just cry when I look at it. :(
Trudy: The best thing to do is get a free place to learn. Like
http://freewebspace.com/
This place has a way to post images and then link to them Its easy to set up. I would be happy to help you if you want to do something like that. The Horse Whisper...Good movie, so I can image the book is good.. Oops nuther one of my honeys Robert Redford. Hummmmmmm I have to go to Utah next month for work. Maybe I should look him up! Sundance! Woo! Slavika wont bring Tom to me so I will just go get Robert for my self :)
Maria: That is my sisters page. She gave me some space to do what I want. She has also taught me alot. She is really big into web page design and graphics and that is her company. Im trying to learn some of the stuff she does as far as graphics. But I have along way to go :) I help with my company web page and know HTML so I can write it. But as far as graphics go, I ask my sister to help me :) You wouldnt want to see some of the things I have made graphic wise. But if you need help in Web page writing I can help there. She does have some Basic HTML help pages on how to start a web page.
Got to go contemplate this Robert thing. Only 3 days there and Im far away from Sundance. Hum Hum just how can we do this? :dizzy:
Where there is a will, there is a way :s:
Rita Do join us. We do talk about a lot of things and have become great friends. We do joke and kid around with each other. But if you need help we are here also. I cried for help last week and Maria came thru with a bunch of sites to help me. We are family and would welcome you as part of "our" family. So jump in! Would love to have you join us! We will support and help you in what ever you need. Some super women here that will go out of thier way to help.

Thanks for that Lily . Lucky you, having a clever sister:) I have had a very quick look at the tutorials she has on her page, they are excellent, I'll be having a go at the tutorials as soon as I get a chance, it is no good they got me working again
I did do a basic course in html but I have never used just html for doing a web page let alone for graphics, I have Frontpage and Dreamweaver.
I know Dreamweaver is great but I have great difficulty getting my head around it and used Frontpage to do my own webpage which I must get around to updating one day
Good luck with Robert Redford, I must say I do prefer him to Tom

Trudy you will love The Horse Whisperer. I liked the book much better than the movie. So did my dh. Even with Robert Redford in it. They always have to change the endings. Lily one can only hope to run into him. Anything is possible. Borrow the Girl Scout motto and always "Be Prepared". Take care today and do not run into anyone. I can imagine that you are shaken up. I know that I would be. A couple of years ago I was sitting a light and the car behind me ran into me and pushed me into the car in front of me. I felt like the middle of an Oreo. Have a nice day everyone. Maria hope you really don't have to "work" too hard today.

Hi Everybody
"The Man" that is doing my bathroom just left for lunch. The sink and taps are in, and the floor has been laid. :) Looking good.
Lily I am so happy that your little accident was just that...."little", and that you were not injured. :)
Trudy your granddoggie is sooo cute. I know you love it when she comes to stay with you for awhile. How's your boo-boo finger doing? Are you able to "walk"??? LOL LOL Seems to me you got out of doing a lot of stuff I wondered if walking was one of them. :D
WELCOME RITA it's nice to "see" a new face here on the the board. We all share a desire to lose weight (or maintain our weight) plus we discovered we have have tons of other things to talk about too. I gained approx 10# while on holidays in the month of Feb. and sadly I am still walking around with it. Boy I feel every one of those extra lbs too. :(
Maria sounds like you will be busy with friends and family. Have a nice Easter if we don't hear from you before then. Peggy the idea of yours using the coffee cans to put Easter treats into was a great one. You sure come up with some great idea's.
Well everybody, I better get busy around here. Bye now.

Slavika.. I did manage to do a few things today, with my index finger sticking straight up in the air... I wonder why people were looking at me...? :o
By now your bathroom must be looking really good.
Peggy I have to agree with everyone else, you have the best ideas when it comes to crafts. I am guessing, like an artist, it comes naturally. I really do have a hard time visualizing anything so I need instructions.
Lily aah yes, Robert Redford still looks good. I enjoyed seeing him on the Oscars. Just earlier I had watched Biography... he is a very interesting man. :)
Maria I do believe you have the best job in the world. Lindt chocolates on top of a salary. I would work just for the chocolates :s:
Rita hope you enjoyed your walk, spring has arrived and I think we will all be happy to shed the winter clothes.
Did everyone watch the Oscars last Sunday? I thought the women's hairstyles were quite messy looking, and don't get me started on the dresses. Some of the older actresses looked classy.
I didn't see any of the nominated pictures so the awards were fine with me.
Well, tonight is Survivor night, and even though I don't really enjoy it, I can't stop watching. I don't know why..:?:
Bye for now

Hi everyone; Welcome Rita. Lots of good friends here, and we are certainly all more than willing to help each other, and give support whether needed or not.
Trudy: Great Granddog. A Cocker? or some sort of spaniel. I recognize that sort soulful look in the eyes. Our Cuddles is a Cockapoo, and has that look, even tho' she is much smaller.
Slavika: I hear you about the 10# extra. i've been carrying mine around for some time and just can't seem to keep the numbers going down. It is down one week and up the next.
Maria: Lindt chocolates. What a job! Hope you have a great Easter with your family. My daughter and sil are coming tomorrow for 10 days. Am looking forward to their visit. She needs some R&R as she has had a rough winter.
Lily: Sorry about your accident. And glad you were not hurt. Bet the only thing that hurt was your pride, for making a 'booboo'
Tell me, if I get some pictures developed and put on a disc, can I use that to put pictures on the internet? I'm such a novice? I get a newsletter called The Newbie Club, but they only talk about really simple stuff. You've been at goal for quite a while. How do you manage to maintain?
Peggy: You are a 'crafty' lady. I agree with the gals, it is a gifted talent to be able to do neat stuff like you do.
Glenda: How are things with you?
Will say goodnight for now, and do Wish everyone a very
HAPPY EASTER

Peggy - I want your life. The things you get to do are just down my alley. We have the same tastes, but I have no artistic talent. I think we could be great sight-seeing buddies, though.
Trudy - I just love your granddoggie. She looks so soulful, but from what you have described, it just masks a personality that just won't stop. Our baby Kassie I have written about a lot. She has 5 teeth in her head now. A dog's tongue is long and is held in the mouth by teeth so she walks around with her tongue hanging out of one side of the mouth. I think she is adorable and always looks a little tipsy. I did not watch the Oscars because we were on our way home from the kids, but from what I have seen, Cameron Diaz who is just as cute as they come, looked like she just got out of bed. Why do they have to be so "hip" that they look like yuck? And why can't they leave their breasts to the imagination?
Slavika - have a great Easter! Hope you get your bathroom done by this weekend or at least usable.
Lily - I hope you are over your "bummed-out" feeling about your accident. It can and does happen to all of us. Just makes us more aware that we need to be cautious all the time. I sometimes get somewhere and can't remember the trip at all and my "automatic pilot" isn't all that reliable anymore.
Maria - what a view!
Everyone, hope you have a blessed joyous spring weekend. Glenda

Rita: Hope you enjoyed that walk! Weather must be good there!
Slavika: Sounds like the bathroom is coming along beautifully. When will it be all done?
Trudy: What did you do to your finger??? I didnt watch the Oscars. Was going to but never made it. And when I went to bed I had them on and thats lasted about 5 minutes :)
Ann: Yes if you get them put on Disc you can use the pictures on the internet. You just need to find a place to put them. The picture site Maria uses is easy to use. Just need to upload them and it does the rest for you. Maintaining...hum I have my moments. I go up and down all the time. I just dont allow myself to go up more than 3 pounds, If I do I go back into losing mode until I get it off. Its never easy. Its work work work, all the time. The Free web space is also very easy to use.
Maria: Beautiful Picture!!!!! Free web is easy to do. I see another web page in the making.
Peggy: Wait for me!!!!!!! I want to go to Waynesville! Sounds like fun!
Glenda: Your Kassie sounds so cute. Im not feeling bummed out anymore. What happened happened nothing I can do about it.
Nuther beautiful day here. wish I had the day off so I could go with Peggy. ALAS.......

Hi Everybody
The good news is my bathroom is functional.
Now the bad news :(
The "Home Store" insists on sending out a fellow to do a site inspection ($35.00) which you get back if you have them do the work. So the fellow who came out, was also the same fellow who would be putting down the flooring, cutting the new baseboard and putting in the new sink, taps and toilet. He walks into the bathroom and says, "are you keeping the same counter top"? I said, "yes". He said, "did you order the new sink, because it will have to fit the hole that is already there"? I said, "yes, I had taken a paper template and also measured the old sink and had ordered one called a Crane Caprice". He said," oh no, the sink you have there is a Crane Yorkdale, and actually you are in luck because they still make them". He said, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, when I take in the site inspection I will have them change your sink to the Yorkdale". I said, "ok". Well he came yesterday, and he had all the new stuff with him, and took the new sink out of the box, (the Yorkdale) and it was not even remotely like the existing sink. He said, "oh, this sink won't fit". I said, "that's one you said WOULD fit and you changed my order". He said, "right, I remember, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT". "I will run back to the store and pick up the "Caprice" that you originally ordered".
He then decided to lay the new flooring first, then go and exchange the sink. He laid the new flooring and said, "I think it would finish things off nicely if I ran the new baseboard up against the bathroom vanity instead of just running the bead of sealing stuff around the floor". I said, " yes I thought that would be nice, but when I bought the new baseboard I did not measure that because there wasn't baseboard there before, so there wouldn't be enough". He said, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, when I go to pick up the other sink I will pick up more baseboard". I said, "ok, but be sure you get the SAME kind as I got". He said, "yes of course". Well he laid the new flooring and cut the new baseboards and nailed them in place and it really looked nice. He put in the new sink, and it fit perfectly and it looked really nice too with my old counter top. Lastly, he put in the toilet.
Now when you buy new toilets, the bowl comes separate from the tank. They are each packaged separately. Also, the toilet seat DOES NOT COME WITH THE TOILET. About a week ago I said to DH, we would have to pick up a new toilet seat. I already knew from hanging around toilets LOL :D that the fixtures come in white, and in a cream white and that the manufacturer, Crane's white is different then say American Standard's white. So....DH and I are looking at toilet seats and he says, "well just pick one". I said to him, "I'm not sure which "white" is the Crane white. So we went to a fellow in the plumbing department and told him we had already ordered a Crane Radcliffe toilet and what seat would match it, and he gave us one and away we went.
Well the plumber installs the new toilet bowl and the tank, and I give him the toilet seat, and he's putting it on and I said, "that toilet seat does not match the toilet". He said, "no you need a Crane WHITE". GRRRRRRRRRR......I knew that, the fellow at store said this was Crane white. Then I'm looking at "name" on the bowl part of the toilet and it says, "CRANADA" not "RADCLIFFE" which is what we ordered. I said to the the plumber, "that's not the toilet that bought and PAID for". We look at the packing box's and the store had given him a a Cranada toilet bowl and a Radcliffe toilet tank.  So that's what I now have in my bathroom. The bowl from one toilet set and the tank from another and seat that doesn't match anything. Plumber says, get in touch with the store and see what they will do, and he leaves. I phone the store, well, now the fellow who handles all this stuff has left for the day, and does not work weekends and will not be back until Monday.
I calm down, nothing I can really do about it that minute so I start to tidy up my new bathroom. First I wash my new sink, and notice immediately that the silver sink stopper is put in backwards with the word "Delta" upside down. Then I painted my new baseboards and noticed the extra baseboard he bought and put on did not MATCH the the original one I bought. Ok ok, nobody in the world but me will likely ever know but really.
When DH got home from work, we did go back to the store to complain to a real person and that real person said they would pass our sad tale on to the right people on Monday.
I am pleased with the way things "look" but I can't believe how many things went wrong, and will now have to be corrected. :?:
I will not eat simply because I am stressed. :)
I would like to wish you all a very HAPPY EASTER I will be happy to have my family here on Sunday and my bathroom problems will eventually be all straightened out.
Have a lovely weekend everybody.
:o
Thanks for letting me vent. :)

Slavika.. your bathroom will look lovely, eventually and you will be so happy with it. Too bad you are having so much grief over it. STAY AWAY FROM STRESS EATING. If anyone notices the baseboard, they would have to be laying on the floor with their head under the toilet... if this happens, they have more problems than you do.
Glenda .. Kassie sounds so cute, I like her without even seeing her. You are so lucky to have a puppy... I would just  a puppy right now. With Jessica it is her hair that stands straight up and then flops over her face that I just adore. She reminds me of Pumpkinhead, the bear with the funny hair from our childhood. Do you remember him?
Lily... I was just cooking and working my fingers to the bone when I broke my nail to the quick. It was painful, and did I ever get a log of mileage around here with it.
Peggy.. last night Survivor surprised me. I didn't think Gabe would go, Rob or the other guy (forget his name) from the tribe switch would go. These people are really sneaky. :s:
Maria .. I really liked that picture, wish I was there.
Today I am trying to clean up this house  and then tomorrow will do my pre-cooking etc. My family is coming here for Easter dinner.. :) I am looking forward to it.
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Slavika: That is a tale of woe if I ever heard one. You'll never hear 'don't worry about it' without thinking of your new toilet:D:?But I sure that it will be very nice.
I've spent most of the day cleaning and getting ready for the kids coming tonight. We have to go to the Airport to meet them at 8:50. I'm so looking forward to their coming.
Went to out local farmers market today to buy strawberries and tomatos. All sorts of fresh veggies. That is one thing I like about Fl.
Trudy: Hope your finger is all better. It pays to make the most of an injury:lol: Doesn't do out dh one bit of harm to pitch in now and then.
Glenda: Your puppy sounds great. Lots of fun, Our cuddles will always seem like a puppy, because she is only 10#. and still quite lively for her age. She will be 12 in August.
Peggy: I'd be happy to go shopping with you. I love those kind of quaint shops, and my dh would rather "watch grass grow" than do that. :D:
Maria: Have a wonderful time with your family this weekend. And everyone else, as you gather for family dinners. Have a wonderful weekend.

We had lunch at a cute place that was new The Cobblestone Cafe. Being Good Friday I had a portabello, artichoke, roasted red pepper and mozzarella cheese sandwich which was yummy. We met at my nieces for coffee and fruit and muffins before we left. I made some Raspberry White Chocolate Muffins. They were quite good. Hi Everybody
Son and DIL stopped by last night to see the "new" bathroom. They felt bad about the problems but thought it was looking good. My son changed the silver stopper in the sink so that the lettering is now the correct way up. They both agreed that the small difference in the baseboard, was something that nobody would ever notice. The toilet....well that has to be changed. So things are looking up. :) :)
Glenda is your little Kassie an older doggie with teeth missing (I know the feeling) :D ??
Peggy it sounds like you had a nice outing. The sandwich you had sounds just wonderful. I love portabello mushrooms. They are great just thrown on the grill or even done in the frying pan. I wrote the ingredients of your sandwich down and will try it sometime.
Lily I was thinking of BBQ for Easter this year too, but our weather is not so great so I decided on having the ham. I am making Scalloped potatoes and a Wild Rice Casserole. I love wild rice. Ann it's going to be a long time before we will be picking up fresh vegs. at a Farmer's Market. :( Enjoy having your kids over. Rita what do you do that you work nights? Cakes with the word "Snicker" in it must be good. I have a fudge recipe that calls for Snicker's bars to be cut and layered be-tween the fudge layers. It's really good too.

Peggy: Thats sandwich sounds delish. I love porebello mushrooms also. They do make great sandwiches. DH doesnt like them so I have to make them for my self. He is so boring :)
Slavika: Well its BBQ here. Today its in the 80's and wonderful. I think spring has finally sprung. Happy about that! Wild rice does sound good with the ham. I was thinking ham but didnt make it to my favorite ham store. And if you dont order ahead on a holiday you might as well forget it. So its gonna be shrimp Kabobs. Yummm yummm.
Tried to take my car in to get it inspected, but they were closed so will have to get that done during the week.
