Good Monday morning all!
Well, all I can say, is God is good! I was shocked to see I had lost 2 lbs this past week. So did dh, so that's 16 lbs gone for each of us now. :dizzy:
Just wanted to encourage all of you who spend the summer on a ball field... plan ahead, take healthy snacks... don't let the hectic schedule sabotage your weight loss! You know we are praying for you!
Ginny - sorry to hear this transition has been so tough. But, I believe you have said that you know it's the right thing to do, so just ask God to help you rest in that, and trust in Him to work the details out!

Hi All! My best friends daughter got married on the weekend. I video taped the ceremony for them.It was kinda hard to do that and wipe the tears but I managed. It was beautiful.I knew I would be eating extra calories and I had to have a glass of champagne for the toast.I am ready to get back on program. This was too special an occasion to worry about what I could and could not eat.I have gotten some good ideas from the posts here and I know I can get the support I need here from my buds.Thank-you.

Patricia- thanks for the encouragment and starting the new thread. WTG on the 2# loss! I am so happy for you- you have been trying for some time to lock into a diet. Great that Dh is losing too!:)
Chick- sounds like you had a very special day with the wedding.
Sometimes you just have to let one day go and get back on track the next day.
Off for a busy day........... I hope to get back on later and fill in what is going on here.
Have a great day.

Well, I signed on thinking that there would a lot of info to read, but no one has posted! Where did everybody go?
Things around here are calming a little. My brother in law came home, he is doing better. He will have to go back to the hospital in 6wks to have the artery on the front wall of his heart fixed. He will have a stint put in. They will also have a surgeon standing by, incase there is a problem. He is just really dealing with a lot of depression and feelings of loneliness. I tried to get him to come to church with us last Sunday, and he was not ready. I am hoping that for Easter Sunday, he will join us.
I feel bad for him, he got home Thrusday nite, not one of his family even said hello, how are you, we missed you, glad that you are feeling better or anything! Even his WIFE!!!!
She did not even bother to be at the hospital when they did the 1st stint! She was "TOO BUSY"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am praying that he gets some comfort from me and my dh. He did spend the whole weekend at my house. I do not blame him at all!
Other than that, My parents will be driving down from Richmond,VA to bring us some furniture that they want us to hold while they go over seas again. They are missionaries and will be gone a few years. I am glad that they are going to be with us on Easter Sunday. That is going to be nice. We always have a lot of fun, so I am looking forward to the weekend.
I have still not weighed myself. I really need to go do it and get it over with. I am trying to get back OP. I am still not eating a lot, but what I am eating is not the right stuff. Anyway, I know that I have taken a lot of your time~

Zoe-glad that your black tie affair went well. As far as all the candy and stuff like that that Easter weekend brings- come up with a game plan. Either allow yourself some candy- for example 5 chocolate eggs (or whatever), or no candy (if you are better off that way) or even write the whole day off and just PROMISE to get back OP on Monday. Whatever you decide, come up with a plan that will work for you- one that will not leave you feeling deprived or guilty and allow you to get back on program the next day happily! I think that is the key- something that you can live with for the day.
Pravda-how nice that your parents will be with you for Easter. And what a blessing that you have Christian parents, which makes an Easter weekend that much more special. A Christian heritage like that is truly a treasure, and something that I miss.
Too bad about your brother in law. (human nature can be so crummy sometimes!) But good that he is home and seems to be doing well.
As for me, well this week has been busy, as usual. This afternoon I am off to piano lessons for Dd and then pick up Ds from school and math tutoring. I got some house cleaning done this morning and a 30 minute walk. I feel sluggish these days- and have not been eating as well as I should. (and I am sure that is why I feel so sluggish). TOM approaches next week also......
Gotta go, Dd comes home any minute.
Have a great afternoon!

I was in bed when he got home but he looked just fine when he got home from mid-terms and track practice this evening. Going my 400 mile round trip to my daughters tennis match tomorrow-- I don't even think she is playing, only top 6 will go and she is #8 at the moment-- they are playing the #6 team in college in the nation. Well gotta get dinner going the wife is pulling in the drive and I am in TROUBLE! Just kidding- she loves me. Later- God Bless you ALL-In Christ, Gary

Hi there! I'm jumping in on your fun ! Actually Zoe invited me, we have a thread on buddy up called Is there any christians. Feel free to jump in on that one too. I'm 39, single, no children. I'm doing a 1400 cal. diet, there's that 4-letter word again:lol: I have lost 43lbs so far, since 1/2/02. I walk my treadmill every morning for 30 mins. and love 3fc web for its motivation, and inspiration. I never thought I would have the good fortune of finding so many brothers/sisters in christ, what a blessing!!!
EZMONEY- its great! your such a supportive dad, there are many parents that are too busy to participate in their kid's life's.Kudos to you!!! and I also liked the idea of dividing the plate. It would be great to use at a buffet also, when there are so many options. Hope you all have a great day!! Love in christ <><

What's up Zoe? You got me all over the place!!! One day I will figure out the system-- well---maybe. Great job on the black tie affair-- I am with you as far as WHY??? SUNDAY NIGHT
Spent the day with my daughter-- that was great!!! We did the 400 mile, 7 and a half round trip drive to her campus today for her teams match-- she didn't get to play in this one but it was still fun rooting for the other girls-- they really needed it, we only squeezed out 2 wins against a VERY good team. My daughter is on spring break but sports still go on in college-- my son even has practice for his track even though they don't have a meet until next week.
My step-daughter called from Ireland today--her and her dad are staying in a castle--made into a hotel---sounds like fun.
Hey doitforme isn't that a great idea to use as a guide for meals by seperating the plate? It doesn't work for everyone but it keeps me on my toes!!!
Well I have been pretty good but not great on the new elliptical trainer-- my wife takes her exercise alot more serious than I do-- I'm working on it. All for now--in HIS LOVE, Gary

Just saying hi to everyone this week.I'm looking forward to Easter services this week even though my church is right next door to where two of the 9-11 terrorists lived. It's a bit scarey now that CNN is saying to be carefull and to avoid Easter crowds. It sounds to me like they are trying to tell people not to go to Easter church services, sigh. What Easter service ISN'T crowded? :(
Anyways I'm still going to go though and with a smile on my face, I trust in God to keep me safe. :)
I'm going to try and not eat any Easter candy, it's hard to pass up the post holiday candy sales... I will try though. It shouldn't be too hard to resist over eating on Easter supper. I'm not even sure what I'm eating for dinner. I don't have any family here so I'm pretty much on my own for dinner. I don't eat ham, so maybe i'll have lasagna or something I normally wouldn't allow myself to eat. I worry that, that might be a bad idea though *shrug*
Best Easter wishes for everyone! :D
God bless ya!

I am still under a lot of stress with both my MIL and FIL. My FIL is going to a nursing home Thur and is not happy about it. He has been unable to eat in over 6 weeks and is living on ensures. My MIL is having surgery in a week to try and remove the blockage in the veins in her neck. On a brighter side I took pictures of my DD trying on wedding dresses and got them back. It makes me cry where did the time go?
I am sorry not to address everyone tonight but my head is pounding so I need to go to bed.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Hey there.... Sorry to have stayed away the past few days, but I have a house full of sick kids :( Started w/my oldest, then my youngest girl got in on it... took them to the dr. on Tuesday and he said it was a respitory virus... and it was VERY contagious, keep them away from others for about 72 hrs from when symptoms started. Luckily, they had felt too crummy to go anywhere the day before anyway. He also said to expect the little one to get a fever w/in 24 hrs, as the oldest had had one Monday and Tuesday morning.. .sure enough, Tuesday night, Jess gets the fever... Wednesday, my other dd, Jennifer decided she wanted in, and got a fever and slept most of the day... Jaclyn was feeling much better though, and Jess' fever was gone, just really stuffy still. BUT... the fun doesn't stop there! NO no no.... I've been up since about 3:30 am because my youngest, who will be 8 weeks old tomorrow, is also stuffy and sneezing all over, not to mention that cough/gag thing trying to get that crud out of his throat! I was hoping that he'd pass this by, being the most protected of them all.... but no. It's so hard to keep his sisters out of close proximity. They just want to kiss on him all day, and although I've been able to keep them away 95% of the time... it wasn't enough! :^: We are planning on going to see my parents this weekend, a 280 mile trip one way. As long as me, dh or my other son John doesn't get it, we'll still be able to go I think. Joshua had been sneezing some Tue and Wed, so I'm hoping he'll be cleared up by Friday for the most part....
ANYWAY.... I've been a little preoccupied and haven't been in here :dizzy:
I posted this on the 3fc ww thread, but I'll ask here too. Have any of you found an edible *diet* cheese? I LOVE cheese, but the sharp cheddar is so "expensive". I have not had good luck w/*diet* cheeses in the past...either American or Cheddar types. Seems they all taste like plastic, cardboard, or nothing at all. Have any of you had any better luck??? :?:

Happy Resurrection Weekend Chicks,
I been MIA also. But now I am off for a few days and plan to catch up on life.
Patricia, you may want to try Soy cheese products, They are also called Veggie Slices, I find them in the produce section. Good source of protein. I am also dealing with a sick dd, she has mono and has to stay in bed for 2 weeks. The only good thing is she feels too sick to do much else right now. Keep your spirit up, sing praises, that is what I plan to do alot of.
Sami, I can relate, my MIL had to go into a nursing home 2 months ago, she did not want to and still hopes to go home, although in her case it seems unlikely. She is 3 hours away and my husband has to make the trip once and week while rearranging his work schedule so he can go during the week.I will keep you in prayer as the Lord brings this to my remembrance.
Easter Plans- well church if dd is up to it. If not I may leave her for a couple of hours if possible to make service. As far as candy, I plan to eat one peice each of the two kinds I really like, Eat real healthy, and walk extra this next week. I'm thinkin of turkey for dinner Easter, can't go wrong there, just keep the sides health concious.
How does on add those cute pictures to the place where your name appears? Also, how to add the smileys?
Love in Christ,De

My week off is almost over. It's going way too fast. I did have a great relaxing time visiting relatives. One aunt loves to walk so we did get out for 2 miles one day. The next day we went shopping so i felt like I did a fair amount of walking then too.
DH has hooked up the water line in the fridge. Now I have no excuses to drink my water!! I love being able to have fresh cold water whenever I want. It'll be hard to go back to the tap when we move out of here. (The fridge belongs to the landlord!)
I don't have time to address everyone this morning but you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Let's especially keep in mind what Jesus did for us this Easter weekend. The ultimate sacrifice!
Have a wonderful Easter!
03-28-2002, 09:26 PM
Hi Everyone-- My last post did not make it cause it was too long- I just can't figure this stuff out! Sami I will continue to pray for your family-I am so sorry. Angelcat you make darn sure you are in church Sunday! there is nop better place to be if something goes against God's wishes! Patricia, sounds like you need a vacation! De, I hope your DD gets well and you can get to church--Wilma keep on drinking that water!! it is the best for you-- when you are totally hydrated-after the right amount of water for 3 months-- you feel so much better! Zoe, where are you? looking for my posts somewhere else?
I will be at church 4:30am to help with our breakfast on Easter, my kids will be there--YES!-- but in the afternoon the son leaves for Las Vegas with his friends to celebrate 21-- daughter heads back up to school, and step-D still in Ireland-- so just me and the wife for Easter dinner. Good Friday service we leave in silence then place nails in a cross made out of the trees we had on the altar at Christmas, to symbolize our sins-- I made it this year-- for the last 30 another man did- he is now 94! if ican do it until then that would make 46yrs for me-- don't think I'll make it!!

Good Thursday Afternoon
Well, tomorrow is Good Friday and I have to work. Oh well. The weekend is almost here and then I'll be off for 2 days. I am only working 4 full days next week then half (8-12) of Friday, the following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. :D Greg's niece is coming to visit and I will take that time off to spend with her.
Gary ~ here I am....not looking for you somewhere else. So your son is going to Vegas to celebrate his 21st? We took our son to Shreveport, LA on his 21st last year. He had a ball....lost a few bucks but he had fun. One year later and he's only been back once. (and it's only a short drive away!) So no beginners luck made him not go back so often. :) Hope your son has a great time.
Wilma ~ I know your week off is almost over but I'm so glad that you had a restful time.
Hi to everyone else. Sorry I have to run. Have a wonderful Good Friday tomorrow and I'll talk to you all then.
03-29-2002, 08:35 AM
Hi there guys! Sorry you have to work today Zoe, but at least your off for the weekend. Wilma its great haveing freash ice water, at your finger tips, I keep a jug in the fridge using the brita filter, its o.k., as long as you remember to fill the jug. Gary, that sounds like a great service for Good Friday, where you make a point of facing the sins you've committed through the year, as well as show the true meaning of Easter, that its not about bunnies, and chicks, and fake grass. Angelcat- make sure you try to get to church on Easter morning, its the most important day, to celebrate, as its when the savior rose, and I can think of no day that holds more meaning. I also can think of no better place to be worshiping, and praising God, if something where to unfold. God Bless you all have a great Good Friday, Mine started off great I lost 2 Lbs:D :) :jig: Now I'm at 300lbs so I have lost a total of 45lbs and will cross through the gate to the land of the two's soon, praise the Lord. Have a great day. In Christ's name!
03-29-2002, 12:54 PM
I have a few minutes off for good behavior...........so I thought I would stop in and say hello.:)
This is strange,(but has happened before) when I clicked post reply two other replies showed up that had not been there before. It is not hard to confuse me!
Do it for me- congrats on losing another 2#!! You are doing great- keep focused (on Jesus of course!) and take this each pound at a time.
Zoe- sorry that you have to work on Good Friday. But you do have 2 days off- Resurrection Day being one of them! I hope that you enjoy the time with Greg's niece.
Gary- how nice that you will have your family with you Easter morning. The tradition with the handmade cross at your Good Friday service sounds so moving..........He died for all of us- what a meaningful way to put it in perspective.
Wilma- go for it and drink that water!:) Glad that you have been getting those walks in. Has spring arrived in Canada yet?
De- sorry that Dd has mono. It can really drag on, be sure that she gets the rest she needs. I hear that relapses are not uncommon. Will she/ you be able to get out for church this weekend?
Patricia- when it rains, it pours! I am sorry to hear about your sick family. This has been a tough weekend for colds.....some families I know have been hit so hard. As far as cheese goes- I have found that the Sorrento shredded cheddar (reduces fat)works well in casseroles. See also if you can find Cabot - their reduced fat cheddar (in a block) is great. Problem is that Cabot is a small dairy in Vermont (we took the tour of their creamery a few years back). They do distribute in Southern NY- but I am not sure if they make it into NJ. Their cheese- while not really "diet" is I think 50% less fat and tastes pretty good. It also behaves more like cheese (as opposed to rubber or plastic). So I use it judiciously and realize that we do need some fat in our diets. If you can't find it in NJ you'll just have to drive up to NY to get some!;)
Sami- I will keep your inlaws and you in prayer. Is the stay in a nursing home expected to be temporary for FIL? Nice that you have Dd's wedding to focus on.
Angelcat- dammage control sounds in order for you this weekend.
Maybe you can come up with a plan that you decide to have a bit of candy- so that you do not feel deprived and also not feel guilty.
As for me, I have gotten my walks in this week. Yesterday I went to the Dr for my BP check- he noticed that I lost 20# since I last saw him in October. I told him that I wanted to go down 20 more- he advised me to only lose 15 more (puts me high mid range on the WW guidelines) because he feels that 140- 142 would be a good weight for me! (can you imagine, a Dr telling me not to lose too much?) Well, I still have a ways to go- 15 pounds (actually 13) and I had better get back on track with my eating to do that.
I am still unsure what our Easter plans are. My mother might be visiting us, if she feels well enough. MIL/FIL are not doing too well (MIL suffers from untreated mental illness and is in a down cycle) so it is doubtful that we will see them. I will make Easter dinner- and whoever shows up is welcome!
We have a candlelight communion service tonite.
Gotta go! He Lives!

Thanks so much for the support and praise. I just popped in to say hope you all have a great Resurrection Sunday! It should be a day of celebration, He's alive!!!!! I'm going up to my parents for the weekend, talk to all on Monday. Try to be good! Take care!

Hi! I actually have a couple of minutes to check in with all of you. We had a very meaningful Good Friday service this AM. We learned about what the crucifixion might have been like for different people in Jesus' life. eg. Peter, Pilate, the thief, the women, etc. Then we each were given a nail and asked to take it to the alter and place it in a basket to symbolize the sins that Jesus took on for us. It reminded me of what Gary said they do in his church. Very meaningful.
Ginny: WTG!! I'm looking forward to the day when my doc. tells me not to lose anymore!!
Doitforme: WTG TOO!! You're doing awesome. Just keep giving yourself little goals and you will achieve them.
Zoe: Have a great weekend and visit with your niece.
Hello to everyone else! I'm thankful for each one of you and need you here to keep me going on this journey to health!!
Have a meaningful Easter weekend! HE LIVES! HE LIVES!

Hi Ladies, I just got home from Good Friday service[my personal favorite] it just means soooo much to me what our Lord did for us. It was also special because I had my wife, dd and her boyfriend [ the guy I pretend to dislike because he takes her away from me-- although neither one of them buys into my dislike] and my son were with me. Brother, SIL and neice too-only ones missing-ex-wife and step-D.
ZOE, have a great week-end off-SUE< how awesome on the weight loss so far!! keep it up.GINNY, 13 more for you is easy I can tell you are determined! WILMA< I like the nails in the basket too-- WHATEVER causes us to stop and think/pray for what Jesus did for us works for me.SUPASAL, welcome aboard!! The Ladies here are WAY AWESOME!!!
Well off to spend a few minutes with DD before her boyfriend kidnaps her to the movies--I know she'd rather be with Dad---YEA RIGHT!!
HAVE A GLORIUS EASTER-- HE IS RISEN INDEED!!! IN HIS LOVE-Gary

Hello everyone......It's a rainy (thunder and lightening) Saturday here in Dallas/Fort Worth so I am going to be getting a lot of work done in the house. I have so much to do before our house guest arrives next Thursday. Greg's niece is coming Thursday and staying for a week. We haven't seen her in so long....last time was when she was 14 and now, she's 34. Don't ask, long story but I'm so glad we're finally getting together.
Gary ~ I love this weekend too.....Christmas is special but Easter, well, it just means more. Christ has done so much for us (oh Lord, for ME!!) that I want to thank Him over and over. When I hear the story at Easter....Good Friday especially, I cry. The pain I feel for Him....at the same time, I know that it's a good thing but .....well, does this make any sense??
Sally ~ Hi and welcome!! Tell me, how many pounds equal kgs?? :) We are so happy to have you here. This is a great group of people and they have been such a blessing to me ~ they are all prayerful and supportive.
Sue ~ Praise God on your accomplishment!!! :D You are doing so great!! Keep up the good work, you're an inspiration to us.
Hi to everyone else....sorry I can't post more, I have an appt in 50 minutes and I'm not ready. I'll be back later.
Love in Christ,

Good Morning! I'm back at work and back into a schedule of sorts. It was wonderful to have a week of and just relax. I had a really nice day yesterday. We took DS out for dinner after church and then he left for school. We went home and relaxed, played some games and watched TV. It was nice to relax like that. Youngest DS got home safely from his trip to BC. He had a great time.
I got on my new scale this am and I have lost 1 lb. I thought it might be more but I had Chinese food yesterday and ham the day before so I know I have retained water. I can see it in my fingers. So, today it's back to salads and lots of water. It feels really good to see the results of walking and eating properly. I decided not to eat after 7:30 pm unless it's a piece of fruit and that seems to be working for me.
ZOE: I hope you have a great visit with your niece. It'll be nice to catch up with what's going on in both your lives.
Gary: It sounds like Easter was really meaningful this year for you. You sound like you have a great family too!
Supasal: WELCOME!! We're here to support you when you need it and to get excited for you when you have a victory. Glad you are here. Is it starting to cool down there now?
Have a wonderful day!!
04-01-2002, 12:32 PM
Hi there! Sounds like you all had an awesome Easter, just reflecting on what the Lord did for us, would make it special even without all the celebrating. I woke up this morning w/ an upset stomach. So its saltines and diet flat pepsi. I am feeling better, I called in sick to work. I will meet up with Mr. scale tom. to find out damage control. I had a wonderful weekend, and will go back to being good now.
Wilma, Zoe, and Gary, and doing it right, thanks for all your support, and sally welcome, this is an awesome group of supporters, friends. I believe that everything that happens holds a purpose. I believe we were brought together, to share, fellowship and support, and to praise his name. God Bless you all!
04-01-2002, 05:44 PM
Thankyou all for your warm welcome!
34kg equates to 75 pounds, so I guess that means I lost 75 pounds! Sounds like a lot.:D
Glad to hear that all had a wonderful Easter. I enjoyed myself maybe a little too much but today is a good day to get back on track again.
My youngest son has chickenpox, so between that & work I was unable to get to church over the weekend. I really missed it, Easter doesn't seem like Easter without spending time in God's house:(
You are all doing great! keep up the good work.
04-01-2002, 08:25 PM
Happy Monday everyone
I hope that you all had a joyous Easter Sunday. We did. But now it's Monday and back to work. This was one of the longest Monday's I can remember in ages! I have so much to do before our niece gets here Thursday night.......I figure that if I do a few things each night.....(starting tomorrow night.....), I should get it all done.
Sally ~ wow, praise God!! 75 pounds lost!! That's wonderful! You have to feel great and I am in awe of you. Keep up the good work!
Nothing seems to be new around here. I am doing ok with my eating, just trying to eat better and less instead of thinking "diet" all the time. I feel good.
Well, ok, maybe I need to start doing those 'things' tonight so I'll say good night to you all and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
04-01-2002, 10:31 PM
No Fooling here--the good Lord has allowed us all to share another Easter with each other!!! We are all truly Blessed!!
WILMA-- I love chinese!! Hey ! Hey! Hey! You are much too tough on yourself Sami. Why not make a special cake that tastes good but has alot fewer calories. Like strawberry shortcake, or something and have the strawberries and fat free whip cream. That way you participate, without feeling guilty. Try carnation fat free hot chocalate, that will give you that irrisistable taste of choc. but only 25 cal. a cup. its really not bad. I am sure things will get rolling, but put a smile on your face, we've all been there and say I can do this, and start making choices that are not punishing, but better, in no time at all you will be out of those cfat clothes again. But the most important thing to remember is no matter what God loves you, and you need to learn to love yourself. Its a great big step, but you can do it. There are several helping hands here, just reach out and will give you all the love and support you can stand . I will also add you to my prayer list. All you need is some self confidence, so take a little walk, and have a little talk with the Lord. Things will look a whole lot brighter. God Bless, I hope that helps. and :)

I will check back in periodically to see how everyone is doing. I have to sign off now and get some sleep. Another softball game tomorrow. Night!

It's off to work again this morning. I got back on the scales this morning, and am very happy to say it must have been the ham, I'm back down to 300lbs, making a total loss of 45 lbs. Sorry ecmom, and sami are having it rough been there. You, have to start over again. Its a brand new day! That the Lord has made so let's rejoice and be glad in it. There are worse things, then having a temporary setback, just pick yourself up and start again, in the mean time I'll be praying for you. I check back later.

Hi everyone! Its been a few days since I have posted. I have been busy with work and home. Things are going ok. Dh is off for spring break from teaching. So he is sitting at home rearranging furniture. I am glad that he is doing it. I know that I didnt want to do it.
So, my brother inlaw is doing ok. He goes back to the Doctor in a few weeks. The doc will tell him what he wants him to do at that point.
My parents got here safely. They brought all kinds of goodys for me, new furniture and things from my child hood. I cannot wait to go thru all the boxes, see what I can find.
I still have not weighed myself, this week in TOM. So I will wait till this is over to do that. I know that I would be up becuz of that.
I hope every one else is doing ok. I have read some post, but not all.
Hello to all, welcome to any newbies and Congrats to anyone who has lost weight!

What a beautiful morning it is!!! The sun is shinning and the birds are singing, I think it might be Spring? Shush!!! I don't want to scare it away!!! Sally- I went to your website and read how you succeeded, that was awesome. That was alot of weight, and I also read your testimony. I too was raised in a fundamental Baptist house. However, my parents were loving, and supportive, I accepted Christ as a young child, I wavered some in my teenage, and young adult years, not really doing that much bad, or not really not believeing. But being a closet Christian, because after all the God Man even though He is the coolest, best friend anyone could have, didn't seem so at the time. He has always been there to listen and point me in the right dirrection in my life. I recommitted myself to him about 3 years ago. I have been blessed ever since. I can't get enough bible study. I participate in as much as I can, I am a Suunday Teacher for the Kindergarten class, and it is so rewarding. I am doing a lock in at the y.m.c.a. tom. night with alot of teenagers. The area churches round up all the kids from their own congregation, as well as those kids bring friends. We rent the y.m.c.a. from 9pm-7am. and have a youth fellowship with use of their faciilities. The pastor give a 30-45 min. talk, that is teen oriented, then the rest of the night is games.

There are actually teens that come to Christ through this. ( I had to do another post, because it was warning me it was too long.) You know me I need to be prodded to type! Ha  Ha:lol: Ha
Pravada- That sounds exciting, just like Christmas a few months later, only the family treasures, and reflection back to childhood. God Bless you all! I'm off to bowling again.

Hi everyone-- Well I returned from Las Vegas about $30 poorer in gambling money but about $300 POORER in food and drink money for my son and his friends--it was sooo much fun though! Wife and I did not spend too much time with the kids but we made sure they had enough left after partying to get home on. We spent some time in the VENETIAN--what an incredible place-- it has been on the travel channel from time to time.
Vegas is out of the way- but it's back up north for anothe tennis match this week-end ( after 1 day of work-- that's the way I like it--work a day, take 3 off- work a day, take 3 off---too bad I can't AFFORD to do it too often!!).
SUE- good luck in the lock in--I have done a few of those in my life--BRUTAL!!! but fun. SALLY-- what an awesome story you have to tell-- you have been blessed with determination that's for sure!! It just proves what we humans can do with God in control of our lives.
Well ladies I gotta go un-pack and catch up on the laundry chores--Later, IN HIS LOVE--Gary

Wow Sue, what a happy message. You sound like I feel in Spring. I just love Spring!!:D
Unfortunately it is Autumn not Spring here:( & last night it blew a gale and there was a definite bite of winter in the air. Still I like Autumn too after the heat of summer. April here is a beautiful month with beautiful weather. My husband was born in April & says it is the best month of the year for weather. I agree but don't tell him that!!
Sue, I just realised that you are under 300 pounds. well done! I thought 300 pounds sounded like such a lot till I worked out that when I started I was 200 pounds!! 200 pounds sounds so much more than 90 kilos LOL:lol: I am about 124 pounds now, which sounds like a lot next to 56 kilos too. I can't get used to the different numbers!!:?:
Glad to hear you had such a lovely time away Gary. Thanks for reading my story guys, it was great to hear your words of encouragement.
God Bless You all

I'm with you all that are recommiting after a minor setback with the Easter candy. I really did much better this year than any other. I did allow some, never did tell myself I would do none.
Sami, (and all) I want to encourage you to join me in the daily commitment, even sometimes multiple times a day. The idea of just giving up is worse. then all I can invision is my getting bigger and bigger and hopeless. We're far better to keep trying than just let it defeat us. I try to invision myself one next size smaller, and stronger, and hopefully more at peace with myself. I'm here for you, rooting for you. and will be praying for you.
I did continue walking each day for 35 minutes (2 miles) For me this is everything. I lost the first 60 lbs without exercise, but now it is important as I have stalled. Also I could not exercise in the beginning because of my size. I am beginning to really enjoy it . 5 years ago I was on a walking program and healthy eating but fell off the wagon and never got back on with the exercise. I hope to keep with the walking and maybe even get into some hiking at some point.

De- thanks for the inspiration to get back on track here.
Something that most of us needed to hear (especially me:o ). It is such a struggle.......thankfully today I did struggle but it was a bit easier. I doubt that I really stayed under points today, but at least I did not go way out of range today.
This week has been busy with all the kids home. Dd has had practices or games each day (mind you it is a 45 minute drive to her school for practices/games) so a lot of my week has been in the van. The Lord has blessed me with an extra measure of patience (actually Dh saw that I was "losing it" and promised to pray for me!) this week. Thanks and praise due there!
Another game is tomorrow morning and we have to leave home early. I had better get some sleep.
Have a great nite!
I will go ahead and start up a new thread. This one is getting so long!

I agree with doin it right. I am back on track. I have just been at work for the last 2 days, which is good as I am always good at work. I take my lunch & have an apple & low fat hot chocolate for morning tea, plus fruit & bread roll for lunch. I didn't put on any weight over Easter so that was great
Hope all had a good weekend

Hello my CE Friends
I just wanted to pop in for a moment to say hello and say that I miss being online everyday. Our niece is still here and we're having a great visit. We (she and I) did the Fort Worth Race for the Cure 5k walk/run for Breast Cancer yesterday. So, I did get my exercise in. Of course, the eating part of this visit has been bad so I am hanging my head. I am really going to try to be better the rest of this visit (she goes home Thursday morning) but definitely when she's gone.
I am reading your posts but cannot comment right now.....gotta run. As you can see from the time of this post, no church today. don't know why really...... I can't believe that I didn't just go and take her with me. I guess I have no excuse. :(
Have a wonderfully blessed Lord's Day. Miss me while I'm gone. :)

We miss you when your not around Zoe, Great job with the walking, it helps you, as well as others with the awful disease. De and Sally thanks for your inspiration to stay on track, and keep going, even when sometimes we think it might be easier to stop. God Bless you all!
