Morning Chicks:^:

Another morning that I get woke up earlier than I hoped. I woke up about an hour ago, when DS was getting ready to go to work, I just got back in bed and was about to sleep when there was that familiar knock at the door that said my DD had not met the team for practice and they were there to get her. I finally decided I just needed to forget about sleeping in. I think I need to spend some time in my Bible this morning to get focused so I don't have a repeat of yesterday.

Check in later when I've got a few cups of coffee down my gullet.

morning all...well i took the dog for a 40 min walk..however it didn't really help wake me up. This week has really beat me up. Man its tough working 6 days a week. And i'm doing it again next week. Its hard to pass up an extra day for the money they were offering. Especially since the trip is 3 wks away.

CC-read about last night. Sorry things are going wrong at chruch and sorry some people are spoiled brats when it comes to games. People really should strart teaching kids good sportmanship..but how is that possible when the parents don't know what that means. hope your day is better.

lauren-hope you enjoyed your bday.

Hey to everyone else

Well, it was weird to get up and head to work today and not take the kids to daycare first. Hubby got laid off yesterday, so he is home with the kids. Hopefully it will work out in the long run - now he has time to job hunt for a GOOD job, not just whatever he finds. Hopefully we will get by since we won't be paying daycare or the gas to drive an hour to work everyday. Now just let's see if he can manage to clean the house and watch the kids and have dinner ready since he is the housewife for a while! ;) I have a feeling the XBox is going to get used a lot more!

I got to work and did my workout, so I am feeling pretty good this morning. Except for the fact that I forgot my lunchbox, so I have no breakfast. I have a meal here at work I can eat, ane we have 100 calorie packs on hand, so I should be ok later...I just don't know what I am going to eat for breakfast! On a sort of positive note, my coworker just found out that she is pre-diabetic and the Dr. wants her to lose weight in the next 3 months, so our whole office will be dieting and working out together!

CC - Sorry you had such a rough day. It's awful when the parents behave worse than the children!

Gatorgal - a 40 minute walk is a good way to start the morning! Where are you going on your trip?

Holly :)

Trish ~ sending big hugs your way darlin'... grown-ups can be such idiots. The mom screaming at the little league game sounds awful. I'm sorry for you *and* her kids! I have not read "The Shack" but a good friend of mine has and I'm considering reading it. She really liked it. Sounds a little far out there from what she was telling me LOL. Hang in there honeybuns... I'm sending positive vibes your way.

GG ~ No wonder you're tired! The extra $$$ is hard to pass up with your trip coming up. Italy trip will be for how long? You are seriously going to need the break! Also, are you going back to work right after getting back from Italy or will you have a day or so off before returning to work? I'm sending big hugs your way as well....

It's so nice and quiet here this morning. DH is long gone to work and the kids are still snoozing. It won't last so best enjoy it while I got it LOL! My SIL is dropping her kids off today so this will be a busy house. I might pack up everyone and head to the pool. Happy Friday ~ Joan

Mornin' All!!! :)

Hoping to kick start this day in a healthy way... Ugh, we had chinese for lunch yesterday, and Boy oh Boy, I went waaaaaay over my goal yesterday in my calorie intake. Gotta work out extra hard today.... not sure if my workout yesterday was enough.

It is supposed to be 90+ degrees... the 3 HHH's here. Wonderful :dizzy: . Maybe a stroll through the a/c'ed mall is in order. I am sure the kiddos would love to play in the play area too.

Well off to make a pot of coffee...

GOOD MORNING CHICKS!!!

Trish, hope ou have a much better day today. Time in the word will definitely get you head settled, always works for me. Thanks for the info. on the tubal...I'm not so concerned about the surgery itself, just if there are any side effects. I get nervous messing with my anatomy. You know, you read crap online & it scares the poop out of you!!! However, I think I'm at the point where having another kid scares me more....

GG, hope you get some rest. Frank has been working 6 days, the money for him working Saturday is just too much to resist!!! he'll probably be doing it for the next few months..thyy're rtehabbing the Ritz-Carlton in Philly, need to get it done soon. Hopefully they will have A/C next week...Hard to believe your trip is only 3 weeks...you must be so excited!!!

Holly, hope DH finds something he likes, and hope he won't be laid off for long. Meantime, I hope the kiddos get some good "daddy time"!!

Joan, hey girl!! HOpe you have fun at the pool with all those kids!!!

Pear, yup gonna be upper 90's and massively humid here today too!!! Have fun at the mall!!

Well, I was supposed to have my friends 4 kids today, but her DH took the day off so I'm gonna take the kids to my MIL's to go swimming. My SIL is there with her son, so we'll spend the day there. Probably tomorrow too. Just need to do a couple load of laundry & vacuum a bit, then we're off.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!

Pam

Morning All,
Holly, sorry to hear about dh getting laid off. So you don't think he will be a good housewife? LOL It is amazing through the school year when I am working, how little gets done around our house unless I break down and do it. Sending positive vibes your way that he finds a better job soon! Sorry you went off to work this morning without your lunch box. Hope you find something healthy to eat. Sending hugs your way and positive thoughts!!
Trish, sounds like you had a rough day yesterday. I know that I can't stand how parents act at baseball games. Then they wonder what is wrong with their children. Hope today is a better day for you. Maybe if it is not too hot, you could get a run in to clear your mind. Sounds like even though your day got off to a rocky start, you have a wonderful plan to put it back on the right path. Sending hugs your way!!
Lauren, hope you had a nice birthday! Do anything special on your special day?
GG, hope you enjoyed your walk with your dog this morning. Hoping you have a better day at work today. So you have Sunday off? Any big plans for it other than just relaxing?
Joan, hope you enjoyed your time to yourself this morning. I would definately head to the pool with the kids today if I were in your shoes. Hope you enjoy your day!
Pearfreak, I am sure that you will be fine today, after going over your calorie intake yesterday. I know what you mean about it suppose to be hot. For the next 3 or 4 days we are suppose to have in the low to mid-90's. So I am planning on not going outside much unless I have to. The stroll through the mall sounds like a good one.
Hi to everyone else. My plan for today is to just be lazy if I can get away with it. I am really tired this morning, since I stayed up late last night and read close to 100 pages in Fearless. So maybe I will get my workout in this morning, get a shower and then maybe read this afternoon and take a nap.
Well I am off of here. Need to motivate myself to do my workout. Chat with you all later. Have a wonderful day!
Take care,
Kerry

Good morning all. I really tried to sleep in this morning but it did not work.

Trish and GG  I hope your day is better than yesterday.

Joan I am hoping I can go back in the fall. It's the money thing that is holding me back. College is very expensive.

Everyone else have a good day. I will chat later. Off to run errands. I am throwing a retirement dinner tomorrow for one of the guys I work with. He is like a 2nd dad to me. So off I go.

Lauren ~ are you so tired this morning from your getting a birthday spankin' last night;-). OH MY ~ I miss Sheila!!! She was such fun and used to write stuff that always made me laugh.

Holly ~ CDL? Certified...? My niece's hubby lost his job a month or so ago (he got a new one within weeks) and he was just telling me how much he loved being home with their little one. Of course, he only had to do it short term so who knows what he'd think if he had to do it month after month. I hope that your DH will get a job as fast as my niece's hubby.

Pear ~ It is supposed to be around 96 here today and I would take them to the mall but it always ends up costing me too much money LOL! We'll hit the pool for an hour or two and that will wear them out:).

Pam-a-rama! Have fun swimming with the kiddies. Reading all of the info available online scares the $%@# of me about a lot of stuff. I read so much about Liam's Aspergers, medications, etc., etc... and came away with info overload. Lots of depressing stuff. I really don't think that having your tubes tied is not that big of a deal. Three of my sisters have had it done and they're all thrilled with their decision.

Kerry ~ enjoy your day. I know what you mean about feeling tired. I stayed up too late reading too. I'm actually starting to enjoy "Wuthering Heights." It was hard to read at first but now I'm getting a hang of the language. Did you like it?

Fergi ~ I hope that you're able to find the money for school. Is there any way that your work would help pay for part of it?

I got up early this morning and instead of working out on my bike, I made a big pot of coffee and watched the Today show. It is just one of those days where I just don't feel like doing much. I'll already regretting my decision not to exercise as my day always goes so much smoother when I start off with exercise. I've got kids showing up any minute so no time to fit it in now.

Holly... so sorry to hear bad news about DH. Have you ever read the book "The Secret"? It's about the power of positive thinking. I bought it after seeing it on Oprah. I was astonished to find that not only was it an easy read but it actually works!! You should read it.

Joan - I was diagnosed in 2002 with RA and Fibro. I hate it. It makes me so tired all the time and I hurt. BUT... the last few weeks have been great. I'm walking every night after dinner and I'm feeling stronger and less hurt-y... LOL

CC - Been there done that (still doing it) with the sports competitions. My son plays baseball for school and township and basketball for school and township. My husband coaches his township basketball league. This past season the went undefeated 14-0 AND won the championship. The parents of the other teams hate my husband when their kid isn't on his team. The kids love him. Every one of them wants to be on his team. The kids call our house to find out if they made his team. During a playoff game in March (and I know you won't believe this), one of the parents tried to get one of our best players to leave to go to another practice for another league. To be clear, this man came and threatened this 14 year old child that if he didn't leave (this PLAYOFF game) NOW to go to his PRACTICE, he was going to kick him off his team.

My husband was in shock and told the boy that HE would drive him to practice after the game so he cold finish. This whole thing happened during the 3rd quarter. Why? You guessed it, this parents son was on the team we were playing the playoff team against. The other coach hates my husband with a capital hate because he just couldn't win against our team. So I think they devised this plan. By the way, our boy didn't leave, the father and kid fom the other team were still there at the end of the game (the kid didn't play, he sat in the stands with the dad... weird...) and we won something like 60-50. It's amazing what people will do. It takes all the fun out of it for the kids. The parents on our team were pissed that they did that.

Just thinking about it makes me mad all over again. I am not looking forward to next season.

DD and I are going on a girls day out. Nails, pedicures and lunch...

Tawk at ya lata'... :)

morning everyone, :coffee: I always feel like such a lazybones when I come on here any you all have been up for eons...crazy time change. :)

Another overcast day here, I think I'll stay inside and make bread and some dips for my cousin's (super-late) graduation party tomorrow. Our temps are around 50-60 right now, probably sounds good to some of you in the upper 90's. :) We've had a really cool summer this year, hope that doesn't translate into a cold winter too. :(

Trish, sorry to hear about your rough couple of days, I hope you found peace this morning and your day improved.

GG, one more day and you get a day off!!!!!!! :carrot: congrats on getting a walk in this morning. Maybe I will do that for my exercise today, get the kids out too.

Holly, sorry about your DH. My DH is a SAHD during the winter while I teach, I KNOW the XBOX and internet get a lot more use, he is a horrible housekeeper, but does much better working with the kids on counting, alphabet, etc. than I do. Hope it works out.

DD just woke up, gotta go, more later.

TGIF everyone!!!!! :carrot:

I did the usual this morning:

...dropped off daughter at summer school
....prepared a good and healthy breakfast
.....checked my e-mails
.....logged on to 3FC

My Mom is still in the hospital. Looks like she's going to be there until early next week. I went to visit her yesterday and she was up and about. She had problems with her pancreas last year after Thanksgiving and was in the hospital for about 2 weeks. She hasn't had a problem until the other day. She recently had knee surgery but wasn't eating enough to absorb the medication properly. The doctor's believe that's what triggered her woes this time.

I don't have any big plans this weekend. However, who knows what will happen. ;) As of now, I just need to do laundry, clean up and get necessary groceries for next week's meals. Well, once I plan a menu. ;)

May you all have a wonderful weekend!! :D

Hey girls!!!

Poppy, sports drive me nuts. Thank goodness DS only plays baseball, he's not awesome, and he doesn't have a huge love for it, it's just okay to him, so we get off rather easy. HOpe you are enjoying your day with DD.

Joan, I think I'm headed in the direction of the tubal...we'll see. Hope you are keeping all the kddos busy!!

Toni, mmmm homemade bread...yumm. Make some extra & send it to the lower 48, okay?? HOpe the party tomorrow is fun!!

Sunshine, hope your mom is better soon. funny how it turns out that we have to look after them, huh? Sounds like you are a pretty great daughter.

yana, hey!! How did you wind up stuck at home?? Did I miss something?

So guess what??? I HAVE NO KIDS!!!!! MIL offered to kkep tehm overnight, and, well she didn't have to ask me twice. I'm gonna take a shower, Fran should be home soon, I'm gonna try to work a date with him, you know at least dinner somewhere. I know he won't want to spend the money, but I think I can persuade him...*hehe*

Well, another thing!! I came home to an email from my bellydance instructor saying that because I have been picking things up so quickly, she wants me to take the Advanced beginner class next session. Normally you have to have 3-4 sessions, I'm at then end of my 2nd, so that makes me feel pretty good!!! She says there are some more complicated things, but she thinks I can handle it...YAY!!!

Alright, enough bragging...gotta get cleaned up for the man. HOpe everyone has a super Friday night!!!

Cheers,
P

Pam ~ you lucky duck! Didn't your MIL take them for the night a week or so ago? I know that you love your MIL and I can see why:).

No pool today. Can you believe that none of the kids wanted to go? We've gone so often this summer that it's not that big of a deal to them I guess. Last summer I hardly ever took them because of my wanting to stay out of the sun (I was taking Accutane) so I've made up for it this time around. The girls are so darn cute! All play together by themselves and I hardly hear a peep out of them. We have a busy weekend ahead so this will probably be my last post until next week. TGIF ~ Joan

Well got most of the errands done. I can finish the rest in the morning. I need to go and get the eyebrows done.

Pam you must have the most fun with the belly dancing. Do you dance for your husband? Maybe that is a way to get him to go on a date with you. My kids have been at my MIL since yesterday.

Yana I bet you love working from home.

Joan my kids would live in the pool if they could. I would probably have to serve them their meals out there. By the way no my work does not pay for college. They will pay to advance your certification but to advance degree wise. It has to be law enforcement related.

Afternoon All,
Sounds like everyone is having a great Friday. Any big plans for the weekend? We have the stepkids this weekend. So going to the fair again tomorrow evening. My only other plans are to get two more workouts in and go to the library tomorrow afternoon.
Joan, sorry to hear that your kids didn't want to go to the pool. So you were stuck at home with them all. What did they end up doing? Enjoy your weekend!
Sunshine, that was nice of your dh to let you rest yesterday. Glad to hear that your mom is doing better. Hope she comes home soon. Enjoy your weekend!
Pam, congrats on your belly dancing news. You go girl! Enjoy your evening with Frank.
Toni, sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead of you. Enjoy your cousin's graduation party. I would love the cool weather you are having right now. Hope it doesn't mean that you will have a really cold winter.
Yana, how long will your family be gone to Alaska? It must be boring at home playing board games and Wii. Why not rent a couple movies to watch with your 11 year old?
Hi to everyone else. Hope your day is going well. I haven't really done much today. I watched some reruns of Psych on tv, read a few more pages in my book, took an hour nap, eat lunch and then read some more. Finally got my workout in this afternoon. I did a four mile WATP dvd. Boy did I get a workout in. Now I am cooling off before I jump in the shower. Normally I have my workout done in the mornings. Just didn't feel motivated today for some reason. But am glad that I finally got it done. Well I will chat with you all later. Have a wonderful evening!

Work today was steady but not insane. But i'm so exhausted. I think the days are catching up. I need to go to bed early tonight. I don't have anything big planned sunday. Going to ride my horse and give the dog a bath. AFter that, DH and i really need to get our butt together and do a lot of stuff for our trip to italy. We got our Euros today, so if we need some cash we at least have it. We need to look for a camera (we only have a very large 35mm digital which wil be too crazy to try and take overseat) need to book the rental, and start planning our trip. I'll be in Tuscany for a week..and then back to work. Wish it could be longer.

Well, we're polished and preened and so sexy we can't stand ourselves!!! ROFL!!!

No seriously, we had such a nice day and went shoe shopping afterwards at the mall... I got 4 pairs, DD got 2. I cannot even tell you the last time I bought shoes. I got a pair of sketchers walking shoes, two pairs of sandals and a pair of slippers. DD got two pairs of sandals, treated herself to a pocketbook, and we bought some things at Bath and Body Works. Then we got diet smoothies at Bavarian Pretzel. We alo got 1 small pretzel that I tasted. It was yumma-licious... LOL

We met up and went out with DH and my mom for sushi for dinner. That was about all I could have from out since I have weigh day tomorrow morning so I didn't want to eat anything fatty or salty.

So I hope everyone has a lovely evening and I'll let you know my results tomorrow!!! :) As I say to my kids... sweet dreamy-weamies!!

Hope everyone else is enjoying their evenings. Just got back from the video store with my stepdaughter. We are going to watch Penelope and The Bucket List. Thought I would get movies with her since her little friend backed out on going to the fair with her.

Evening All,
Yana, glad you were able to do such a deep cleaning of your house. That must have made you feel so much better. Way to go!
Well Kaitlyn and I watched Penelope this evening. It was a very good movie. Have any of you seen it?
I am at a loss as to what to do with Kaitlyn. She got on the scales this evening and it said 206.8. She is only 12. I can tell that she hasn't been really taking care of herself at all this summer. When her mom dropped her off at 8:30 this evening, she had a sub from Subway, some chips and a Diet Coke with her. She was just then eating dinner. She has told me that she doesn't want to be fat. I have talked to her about eating healthy and showed her what excerises she can do to lose weight. All summer long she has talked about playing volleyball this coming school year. Tonight she tells me that she doesn't think she wants to play now. Her mother and stepfather are very heavy people and have a ton of health problems a piece due to their weight. I don't want the same thing for Kaitlyn. What should I do? I know that her doctor is not happy with her weight either. But she is with her mom most of the time. Do I have a chat with her about my concerns for Kaitlyn's health or what? It just bothers me that she use to be a very active little girl. Now she could careless. I don't want to see her have major health problems due to her weight. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I think I will go to bed now.
Have a nice night.
Take care,
Kerry

hi again ladies.

Had a bad start to the day, kids super whiney and driving me nuts, about naptime, MIL said she'd take them and to take my time shopping for cousin's grad gift. Have I said yet that she is a fabulous woman!!! :D I seriously was blessed in the MIL department, I got the vacuum fixed, spent an hour shopping for the grad gift then went out to a nice restaurant for a salad and a glass (or two ;)) of wine. MAN did my mood improve! Needless to say, my evening is looking much better than my morning did.

Kerry, your story about your DSD made me sad for her. Is it possible for her to see a therapist? I would bet that self-esteem issues are a part of her weight. Can you make it (losing weight and exercising) a fun thing to do together? (I don't know what your relationship with her is like). Maybe you could do some research online and try to find a site like 3FC for teens or pre-teens? Kids love technology and maybe she would find someone to talk to and get motivated with. :?: GL!!! BTW, I loved The Bucket List, great movie!! :D

yana, hope you are enjoying your clean house! where in Alaska is your family?

poppyseeds, enjoy your new shoes and pretty nails, sounds like you had a great time!

fergi, did you figure out the photo thing? There is a button to click at the bottom of the screen. I just shrunk one that I had on my computer so it was within the size requirements.

Pam, hope you enjoyed your night without the kids. ;););););) I can't wait until mine are old enough to send overnight. :D

Have a great night everyone!

Don't you just love when unexpected plans drop in your lap?! Well instead of going to the mall and chilling and spending $$$$, my friend called and invited us over. Her children are close in age to my own, so that worked out. We went over, had a fab lunch and caught up on things. It was nice. The kiddies played well, and afterwards we went out and let them run a-muck in her sprinkler/pool. It is cute, it has a whale spout that sprinkles water on the lil slide into the kiddie pool.

I think the chinese calories left... I did a video when we came home, as the kiddos fell alseep rather early due to a lack of napping. Now the thunder storms are rolling in, and it has cooled down a bit. Thank goodness. The breeze through the window feels good.

Mamamtoni--- that bread and dip sounds delish. Hope all goes well at the party.

Poppyseeds---- your shoe shopping and B&BWs visit and pretle sound devine. Glad you had a great day out shopping and pampering yourself.

yana--- I hear ya about cleaning when the hubby is away. That is when I can get things done, well when he takes the kiddos along with him, that is.

Well for everyone that I have missed, I hope you all had a wonderful day and if not ((((((hugs))))))
I am so tired right now, I need to go to ZZZZZZ's Land.
Hope everyone has a Grand Weekend!!!

Sunshine, hope your mom is better soon. funny how it turns out that we have to look after them, huh? Sounds like you are a pretty great daughter.

Cheers,
P

Yeah, thanks! :) My Mom is doing better. I just spoke with her. I ran all her errands today so she's good to go. :) It is funny how the circle of life comes into play. I have older siblings yet I seem to be the one who takes care of her the most. Some of them are out of state or in other parts of California. I'm the closest. Like 15 minutes away. And yeah, I'm her baby and a great daughter. :o

Lucky you! No kids and a night with your sweetie! How freakin' awesome is that? :) Hoipe you two have a blast! ;)

Sunshine - You have so many posts and still don't have a siggy. Why not?

 I noticed that too but I guess the rules require a certain number of days before I can get a siggy. I'm a patient person, I guess I can wait. ;)

Sunshine I hope your mom gets better real soon. It is hard seeing the parents sick.

Yeah, very true. Thanks! :)

Even with all of my siblings, I seem to be the go-to kid with both of my parents. I also help my Mom take care of my Grandma.
