GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, I think it's another good one!!!
Whatever there is to be done, make it your choice to do it. Rather than resenting that you must do it, or feeling guilty about the fact that you should do it, simply choose to do it.
From all the available possibilities, choose what you know is right. Choose, and put the power and commitment of your intention behind your actions. Choose to do it, and you make yourself vastly more effective. Choose to do it, and be in positive control of your own destiny.
Feeling that you're forced to do it, or obligated to do it, or that you have no choice, will only weigh you down. So choose to do it and free yourself from those useless burdens.
Choose to do it not because you must, not because you should, but because you know it is best. In every moment, in every situation, make it your choice to do what is best. Make it your choice, and you'll make it great.
-- Ralph Marston

Well the constant hunger seems to have gone away. WHEW! I guess not too much damage was done, as the scale is still sitting at 165. WHEW!
I kept OP yesterday except for quantity. At least it was legal. Today is a new day and I will have to choose what is best for me (Thanks for another great inspirational post, DEB)
DH says he likes this new, energetic me:) Just seemed to come out of nowhere. MIL suggested maybe cause I was exercising I had more energy:?: Won't complain since I think for the 1st time ever, I can say my household chores are all caught up! Hopefully I'll be able to keep caught up with the boards ;)
JRED Hope you're feeling better soon, "Poopsie"
BETH & YELLOWROSE Happey Birthday :hb: I wish each of you a wonderful day
ROSALIE Tim Horton's is fine! I'll bring the Agave! Our Sunday tradition is to stop in there and I can actually get a coffee for myself and watch while DH and DS wolf down their deep fried, sugar laiden treats. I did try protein (I tried everything) and it didn't seem to help. I think I just had to really fill up my stomach :o
MEL Have a great time with your brother and DEB
That's it for now (unless someone's popped in a post while I've been typing) I'll check in later. The puter keeps my fingers and mind occupied.

Wow...I am glad that weekend is over. It seemed more hectic than usual. We finished up the birthday party and tried to get things in order again.
Hubby started feeling ill again and we are bothered by not knowing why. The kidney stones have not appeared..err...exited his bladder to his knowlege yet, but he is very nauseated and the gravol is not even helping. Full day of church yesterday and he got through the morning service well (he is a Pastor) the afternoon brought more severe nausea. Since he has missed the last couple of weeks he forced himself to go and actually made it through the evening service...good thing we had the people praying for him!
We had planned on a couple coming over for the evening so we went through with that. I am glad to report that I ate a salad and some macadamia nuts while they scarffed back carrot cake, chips and pop!
Oh, my new name is **Loopy Burgerhead**! :dizzy:
Not very attractive I must say, but not as bad as some of the others I have seen!
CountryMom-Welcome to the board!! You have done so well, make sure you share some pointers with the rest of us!
GottaBeMe-Nice to see another Canadian, eh? :smug: The people here are fantastic so jump right in and become part of it!
Monet-The winds have died down and my hair stopping flapping in the breeze while I type on the computer...so things are looking up! Georgia, huh? I have seen that in the movies ;) Looks very warm and inviting. Wish I could take you up on that one.
Beth & Yellowrose-Happy Birthday to you both! Today is my daughters 8th birthday too...nice to know she shares it with you.
Starting the new board for the week makes one go on memory for responding to posts....I have run out of memory :)

Good Morning all, this is zippy banana buns... I'm so excited as this is the day my GK come.... They're supposed to be here around 2. So hopefully I'll have time to walk on the treadmill and and get some things done... And of all things for three days I've been feeling sick.. I was so hopeing it would be gone when I got up this morning.
Deb- I loved your message this morning, I choose!! A good one for me to stick in my head with the GK's here.
Merlis-I forgot to CONGRADULATE you on reaching your goal.. Wow you've done great!!!!
Beth and Yellowrose-Happy Birthday... Hope you have a really good Day...
Gracious-I'm so sorry about your husband. He's really having a rough time...
CountryMom-Welcome to the board... You really have your hands full with 5!!
Zanne-When I did Low Carbs. they said you got the cravings because of to many carbs. I wonder if that could be it?? Those are awful when you're trying so hard. I'm so glad you rode them out and didn't give in. Guess you chose the right path...
I can't remember from the old post... So will say by by for now. Be back later if I can......

Hiya Everyone, birthday girl Chim-Chim Gizzardpants stopping by to tell YellowRose to have a happy birthday :)
Please everyone cross your fingers, say a prayer, whatever your preference is for me today... I had a horrid day yesterday, went to get my hair highlighted for my birthday, and the woman destroyed my hair, and I have highlights the color of pumpkin instead of blonde. I cried half the night. Anyway...
Today I'm going to apply for a new job, and I really, really want it. The benefits package is Unbelievable! And the job is one I'd love to go in to every day!!
More later, just wanted some good thoughts headed (pun intended) my way while I go turn in this application/resume!
Have A Great One :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH!!! :hb:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY YELLOWROSE!!! :hb:
Now be a couple of  and don't give in to the birthday cake and ice cream!!! :ink: :ink:
Today, I have to catch up on freelance writing. I am way behind, and the lady I write for is going to get pretty mad if I don't get going. Problem is it is all creative stuff, and if you don't feel creative, well, it is just hard to do! (I write scripts for a church Sunday School curriculum..all teaching is done with drama, and I write the dramas) I read Deb's motivational post and thought, yep, I need to just DO it. NO more procrastination.
This morning I made a recipe I found on another board for fancy french toast. You make a sandwich with ww bread, cream cheese, and all fruit jam, (I used fat free cream cheese and Polaner all fruit cherry) then dip it in egg, and cook. I spread a bit more Polaner all fruit on the top. Very tasty.
Motivation...lets see.
I love the plaque a friend of mine has in her kitchen. It says, "If mom ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!" Kind of true! It is hard for us to do things for ourselves, but when you think about it, it is so necessary for the well being of all around us. You can give and give and give, but if you are giving out of emptiness, it is not much that you can give. First, we must give to ourselves. I am not talking about material things either. Things will not make us happy. They may amuse, but it does not make us happy deep inside. How we treat ourselves, and others will help determine our happiness. The age old wisdom of "do unto others" is so true. So, do you do unto yourself in a kind and giving way? Or do you beat yourself up over mistakes and failures? Are you critical of yourself, do you dislike yourself? Do you look in the mirror and hate what you see? Don't hate yourself. Love yourself enough to nourish and encourage yourself. You are worth the time and effort it takes to stick to this program. You deserve to be healthy, so get out and exercise, and eat right. When you are treating yourself the way you deserve, you will be happier, and that happiness will spill over to others.
Have a good week!

Good Monday Morning Everyone:wave:
Surprisingly, I got in a decent walk/jog time today. Did my 4.5 miles in 45:27. Considering it was already hot when I went and I was tired, I was just happy to get out there as I did, but being well under 50 minutes was a bonus.
I'm loving reading all these new names!!! My loving children would be considered BUTTERCUP (Michael) GIRDLETUSH & DORKEY GIRDLETUSH (Lauren).
Have a few errands to run today, but mostly going to be working in the house going through some junk and papers to throw out before I leave on Friday.
Looking forward to my day with MEL on Wednesday. She'll finally have that OLE OLE expereince!!!!!
MONET, okay, this new name is definitely a hoot!!! I love reading these!! Do you know of any places LIKE Harry's in Atlanta?? How far are you from Peachtree City?? Just toying with the idea of coming home through Atlanta if it doesn't add extra time or miles-haven't checked with my Mom about this, just a thought. Hope you get your writing done. Thanks for that MM thought, I definitely am guilty with being critical, beating myself up, etc. etc.
COUNTRY, okay, must ask, how did you PHYSICALLY feel after eating all that sugar??? I''ve wondered how I would feel if I did so. Most of the gals tell me how awful they feel after binging on sugary foods and it's enough to keep me in line. Haven't a clue where you are in Texas, only know the big cities and a tiny town called ZAVALLA where my friend lives, which is not far from LUFKIN.
JRED, LOL-love the new name, not laughing because you are sick though-sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better soon-get some Jewish penicillin in you!!!
FRUIT, I'm laughing right along with you-I love it!! Going to send it to my kids to do. Not leaving til Friday-so you can wait to miss me;)
ROSALIE, definitely like LOOPY CHICKENPANTS better!!! I bet you had a good laugh yourself, I sure am! Glad to hear you have the camera ready to go when you meet ZANNE!!! Have a fun visit!
MEL, still home??? Will be home awaiting your call tonight!! Have a good flight down BOOGER CHICKENTUSH!!!! LOL!!!
ZANNE, glad you liked today's MM and happy to hear you are back to "normal." So I hear you and ROSALIE are meeting up on Thursday!!! Have a good visit!!!
GRACIOUS, I love the new name! Def. not as bad as mine! LOL! Sorry to hear DH isn't feeling good again-hope this and the other thing passes quickly!!!!
TONI, LOL! Are you going to tell your GK the new name? I think they'd love hearing about this and finding their names. Have a wonderful time with them this week, take pictures of you with them to post on the board!!! Glad you liked the MM Monday-one of those worth printing and sticking on the fridge.
BETH, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:hb: What are your bday plans for today?? LOL! If that name isn't a hoot, what is!?! Oh my, sorry to hear about the hairy mishap. I hope they are fixing it!!! GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES ON GETTING THIS JOB!!! What is it for?? Please give us all the details!!!!!!
Okay gals, I'm a gonner for now-will do the poll later-couldn't come up with anything, so if anyone has any ideas, e-mail them to me PLEASE Debelli@AOL.com
Have a great day!!

Drum Roll,
Announcing a new low weight--236.5!
Gosh this is my first break into new territory since July--when I posted 237. I have to tell you there is no better motivational monday than one that shows progress!:D
Beth and Yellow Rose: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Beth--I hope you have a good day today--especially with the interview. Sorry about the hair, I can sympathize I had two friends give me a home perm the night before my Senior picture was taken. Needless to say my hair was fried!
Crystle--This is a fun board! I can sympathize with the stall--I tend to do the same thing around December and through the winter (I did it last year and this year). Both years I got serious again for Lent and that seems to have helped. Also planning my menus on fitday.com seems to have helped too!
Deb--I wouldn't laugh too hard miss Lumpy Girdletush!
Monet--Yum, that roast sounds wonderful. Your kitten sitting sounds like an adventure. Sometimes I find myself wishing Miss Belle would hurry through the kitten stage, but when she was recovering from her surgery, I found myself missing her little kitten-hearted antics. So now I just laugh while I'm walking around the house picking up tampons! BTW--Booger Girdlehiney--I think you got the best (worst?) name of all!
Gottabeme--Welcome! Detox is the worst, I really spent about 3 days just bare Knuckling it. I think until you get the sugar out of your system, eat as much SB legal foods as you want. Once you get through that period, then you can worry about learning to eat the right amount of food.
OK time to get the day started. I hope everyone has a great day and a good week!

After a busy weekend of Ikea shopping, home improvements and a bit of straying from the SB WOE...I'm back on track! Since I didn't cave in the first two days and since my boyfriend decided to get in shape as well, I'm confident that I can do this.
I went to the grocery store and got a bunch of healthy goodies for the week. Going on sunday is the best way to keep me motivated all week long. I work in New York and it's always busy busy busy! Now I'm finding time to wake up and make a nice salad for lunch and to eat a bit of breakfast. Days are less stressful and I don't feel deprived! I think I still have some de-tox ahead of me but I know that's only temporary.
I don't have any words to motivate, but I've found that finding alternatives to my favorite snacks that are just as tasty and more filling reminds me that I can do this.

Good Morning all......I have been MIA for a while I know but I have been a lurker. I am not eating right and that is when I tend to not post. But today I am up and running so things are getting back to normal I hope.
We are leaving Wed for our camping trip....it seems as though the weather is going to be beautiful. I can hardly wait to be drinking my morning coffee outside with the nip in the air. Life truly is wonderful.
I had the best ride the other day and I had DD take some pictures. I am posting one for all to see. I feel most at home when I am on April....she is truly a blessing to me and itsthe horse that I was to have for my own. We do so well together.....she does everything that I tell her to and never hesitates for a minute. I love you bunches.
Happy Birthday Beth and Yellow Rose.
Beth .....good luck with the job interview.....if I had to go interview for a job right now I think I would freeze up.
Deb......have fun on wed with Mel and have a safe trip on Friday. Look forward to hearing about ur trip.....did you find someone to start the board on Monday?? We may not be back till monday....or at least late Sunday night. Have you heard from TV at all....I really am anxious to hear from her??
Must run for now....cya ll later.
Debbie :))
Of yes...even though I have been cheating I am still hanging at 180....go figure.....LOL
Well the picture won't post..so I will try to put it on the picture board.

Good Morning! This weekend for me was the first in a long time where I made good choices. I still need to adjust my intake some more as by my afternoon snack I only have 300 calories left in my day. I read a great article in Prevention about dividing one's meal into 3 parts: you take your plate fill half of it with veggies and/or fruit, then take the other half of the plate and divide it in half, one half is for protien and the other for a starchy carb. I'm going to try to apply that better to my meals and see if I can get my veggies up more. This should help distribute my calories better throughought the day.
Happy Birthday Beth and YellowRose!
Fillise - CONGRATULATIONS!
You are my Monday Motivation...THANK YOU ALL!

Happy Monday to Everyone,
Haven't posted for a couple of days, but have been reading and reading. Hate to seek weekends go so fast, but I am always glad to be back at work on Monday. Even though I stay OP all weekend, I don't eat enough or drink enough water on the weekends. Seems I only eat 2 meals a day on Sat Sun. I seem to need structure.
Happy Birthday to Beth & YellowRose. Hope you have a special day.
Gracious- Hope your DH feels better soon. Sounds like a real trooper though. BTW, love your new name. Did I miss something? Did everyohe decide to change their names?
GottaBeMe- Welcome! I'm new here also. This is a great board.
Country Mom- Ditto to you.
Toni-Know you are excited about GK coming. Everyone tells me GK are much better than kids. It will be awhile before I have one, but looking forward to them.
Beth- Good luck on job interview. You can do it!!Believe in your self.
Fillsie-Congrats on reaching your new low. WTG.
Debbie- Know you are eaxcited about meeting with Mel onWed and your trip to NC. Have a great time. Keep us posted.
Don't know if any of you have medical backgrounds, but would like an opinion or 2. I have RA and take quite a few meds. Have been doing so for 4-5 years and have been ok. Last month my blood test show my liver to me out of wack. I really think it is the meds, but does anyone think the WOE would affect my liver in any way. I had my blood rechecked today and have a Dr appt on Wed. I am hoping to cut back on my meds anyway since 54 pounds off my frame should help my joints. I will die if he tells me I can't continue doing SB.
Got to get some work done. Have a great day!!:dizzy:

I just received this and thought it was an excellent Monday Motivation....
Today's thought is:
"Life by the mile is a trial; by the inch it's a cynch."
In the past, we got into trouble when we thought we had to have
our lives mapped out forever. That just did not work.
We need only deal with the problems and joys of today. If we try
to see too far ahead, we lose touch with the reality of the here and
now. The Lord lets us know what we need to know when we need
to know it.
What seems impossible when looked at in total—writing a book,
putting the children through college, abstaining for the rest of our
lives—becomes manageable when worked at step by step, day by
day.
So many of the things we worry about never happen. How much
better it is to concentrate our energies on the real demands and
challenges of today, insignificant as they may seem. When we
turn our lives over to our Higher Power, we trust Him to manage
the master plan and to direct us in the small details of living each
day.

Zippy Liverface checking in. I was Snotty Burgershorts on the other Captain Underpants e-mail I got. I think I like being Zippy much better. :D
I 'zipped' around our loop here twice yesterday - almost 8 miles long and it took me 2 hours 12 minutes. My ankle and hip were sore as all get out yesterday, but today I seem to be fairing okay. Meister road his bike for 30 miles in about 1.5 hours - had time to come check on me before heading home to take a shower. I was prepared with my cell phone in case I couldn't make it home.
PUBLIX has Unprocessed Bran on the cereal isle. Meister and I bought a box and made the recipe for the Bran Muffins on the back of the box substituting SGWW flour and Agave in the recipe. It uses unsweet applesauce and we added raisins to Meisters 1/2 of the batch. They are YUMMY!!! And NO DOOKIE HOWSER PROBLEMS with these puppies! I'll try to get the recipe posted this week - with a few others I've been remiss in posting. BUT if you have the box at the groc. store I HIGHLY recommend it!!
We got word from the breeder that Billie is INDEED Preggers and due in May. She said to keep in touch - so do we call/e-mail each week or so just so she doesn't forget about us? Send her our bazillion questions or lay low until May? Anyone gone through all this formality for a pet?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETH AND ROSE!!
ZANNE I get like that ~ especially around TOM. Just nothing at all fills me up or satisfies my hunger. This past month Vince was blaming me for his bout with that. He said it was sympathy PMS.
FILLISE You've motivated me to start tracking everything again in Fitday. I was sooooooo bad last week that I decided to 'officially' detox - not only sugar, but everything - so Meister and I are doing the Zand's Detox Program from GNC. We got 2 1-week supplies for $25 and started Saturday night. So, hopefully, I'll be good and stuck on that wagon! CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW ALL TIME LOW!!!! At this rate you'll be passing me by soon.
FROG Glad to hear things are getting settled with GM. I knew SEF would have some great insight for you.
DEBBIE TELL LAUREN WTG!!! Hot Diggity Dog! She just continues to shine! I'm so jealous that you and MEL get to spend time together! Make sure you take pictures of the two of you and your buff bods! Don't know what to put on the poll. I was always TREATED as if I had a weight problem - I used to hear some of the meanest comments from my family, but looking back at the pictures now - I don't think I had a weight problem at all. A Marilyn Monroe figure, but, nothing near the obesity problem I was lead to believe I had. I'd actually kill to weigh what I weighed in high school and most of college when I thought I was fat. I sometimes wonder if I would be this size now if I hadn't spent my whole life trying to be smaller than I was when I thought I was fat.
MEL CONGRATS ON 12 WEEKS ON BFL! I read the books, but not ready to jump on that wagon yet. I haven't even been faithful to SB and need to step up on the training for the half marathon. You'll have a blast with DEBBIE!
WELCOME NEWCOMERS!!! You've found the most supportive place on the web! I'm afraid the Texans are going to outnumber the Floridians before too long and we'll be jealous of your gatherings!
BOB That was a hoot of a history lesson!
SEF Thanks for making me feel even older! I remember sniffing freshly printed tests in school. MMMMmmmmmmm, the memories!
Better get back to work!

Hi all,
Just checking in to let you know that I'm alive. Wow! It's Monday early afternoon and we already have 2--TWO--whole pages on the board. I have family coming in this week, so don't know if I'll be able to keep up with the board or not. With so many pages it gets hard. I'm doing great and actually got out and walked 1.5 miles before going into the CPC today. Take care and everyone have a good week.

Hi Gang!!! Just checking in to say Howdy. Still feel like such a rookie, not knowing anyone....but definitely feel like progress is being made. I finally hit the 10 lb. marker and that was quite an achievement, at (I think) 5.5 weeks...especially with TOM right around the corner. Still sticking to the book, but refusing to count anything (except the 3 starchy carbs and 3gram sugar limit). Hubby still at 12 lbs. and lookin' good!
Have returned to the treadmill for 40 minutes a day...the goal is 7 days a week...keeping fingers crossed. So hard during the week!
Found a new bottled drink (I am just soooo bad about drinking H20!) at Costco...called Diet ICE Botanicals. Seems to be made with Splenda...no sugar or carlories and they add a few vitamins like Echinacea. This shall help my fluid intake allot! (only 60g. of vitamin C). Anybody know anything about them?
Speaking of vitamins...due to some leg cramps I've been experiencing...hubby went out and bought multi-vitamins, vitamin B (for water retention), calcium and potassium for me.....So now I'm downing like 5 extra pills a day! Does everyone take extra vitamins? Personally I think the leg cramps are just muscles growing from the treadmill.....those muscles are just saying "howdy...we're back!"
I hope everyone has a great week...Happy Birthday Birthday People!!! And welcome to the Newbies!!! (does that mean I'm no longer a "rookie"????) HA
And a special LATE congrats to Debbie! What an incredible story you have and such a gift that you continue to share
Bye all...
:)

Hi,
Thank you, thank you all soooo much for the Happy Birthday wishes. All of you have brightened my day. I needed
that since I’m mad about the weather today. I was hoping to go for a walk through the Arboretum and it is
overcast, cold and rainy. Well, I wanted a quiet birthday .
Beth: Happy Birthday! After your hair story, I am glad that I am leaving mine alone for my birthday. If it can
happen, it does with my hair. I even gave up getting perms because they didn’t turn out more often than they did.
Actually, this is going to be a very quiet birthday...my choice. (I said that already, didn’t I?) Good luck on the job.
Zanne: I always enjoy reading your posts. It sounds like you are learning from your misadventures and are right
back on track. Your coleslaw comment made me remember a recipe I have that uses lots of garlic and is tart and
good. No sugar in it. I will post it soon on the recipe board.
Tree: Hi. I am so glad to see you again. Thank you for the self confidence boost.
CountryMom: Welcome Texas girl. You have done so well with this way of eating. I am glad that you found this
board. I understand about your excitement with finding others with the same interest. I too was so happy to be
able to find help and support.
Gottabeme: Welcome. My daughter follows WW and when we are together (she lives near Houston and I am in
Dallas) we combine the two programs and both of us not only enjoy ourselves but lose weight too.
Deb: The cheesecake was marvelous! I put it in a soufflé dish so it had lots of room to rise. My thin husband
loved it also. I know the ME place is open for lunch. (At least while I was there.) I will be interested in knowing
what you like to order to eat.
JRed: So sorry you are feeling under the weather. I hope your SB immunity kicks in soon so you don’t miss any
festivities.
Monet: Thinking ahead, I made myself one of Deb’s famous Crustless cheesecakes. I can put a candle in that to
make a wish. Ice cream doesn’t go with that, so , I need not be tempted. The fancy French toast sounded yummy.
Solshine: Hi to another Zippy. Please do post the muffin recipe...it sounds good. I am going to start my own
brand of Detox when I have to prepare for a colonoscopy that I am having done Thursday. Ha!
Judy in CA: You are doing very well. Wish I could lose these last 10 pounds in the next 5.5 weeks. I take One A
Day vitamins and also added some potassium. The leg cramps stopped after adding the potassium.
I think I have chatted enough.
Happy Day Everyone!

Evening All:wave:
Not much to report on my end today. Thought I'd get in a post before it got too late and Eli got home. After today the posts are going to be harder for me to do, so you all have to just bear with me.
Tomorrow is my Glamour Shots appt. at 11:15am, have to drop off my car at the mechanic first though. The window he fixed works and then intermittingly doesn't, so have to get that taken care of before I leave.
If anyone would like a GI INDEX to print out just go to this site:
FILLISE, WTG on the new low! CONGRATS!!! You are right when you say there's no better motivation than seeing the scale go down!!! You're almost at the 65lb milestone:D
QUIV, I LOVE IKEA!!! I wish we had one down here. I've been to the one in VA and the one in Montreal-they have the coolest stuff there and so reasonable-I'm jealous! Seems everyone has all the good stores where they live, Trader Joes, Harry's in GA, I feel gipped. Good luck at the gym tonight.
BUSDEB, you think you are any different than others? When people fall off the board suddenly it's usually due to them eating off plan. BUT, that's the time you need to stay connected to the board the most, so we can help you get back on track. The longer people stay away, the worse it is, so I'm glad to see your post:D Loved the pic on the horse-you have a budding photographer there, I see. Have a great time on the camping trip-hope you have great weather. Nothing from TV at all. And yes, ROSALIE is doing the board for me, thanks.
TRISH, what did your son think of your new name??? I never knew this even existed!!
LDBLOND a while back BOB posted a site that has that plate you saw in the Prevetion Mag.
JACKK, I'm sure MEL and I will have a great time and I'll try my best to report our day together. I don't have any medical background, but I can't even imagine that following SB would give you any liver trouble, it's such a healthy WOE and so many Dr.'s suggest it to their patients, including my Uncle who's a very well known internist in WPB. Hope the Dr. can find out what really is causing the trouble.
SOL, or aka ZIPPY LIVERFACE! Michael loved hearing that name. What's VINCE'S name? Don't tell me you didn't figure it out either! ;) I am so proud of you doing almost 8 miles, you are doing wonderful!! Good going on the bran muffins, I do have that bran and it's great. You should try adding it to other foods to get in more fiber, though I suspect you may be not only eating all day long, but pooping as well:eek: How exciting about the new family addition arriving in May. Any names yet?? I would say to write all the questions you think of down and deluge her all at once. Tell her it's like a new parent taking home a new baby and you have questions. I'm sure she'll fill you in on EVERYTHING. Hey, have you checked out the new "Pediatricians" for the new baby??? I too always wondered if I had stayed the same weight I was back then what I'd be like today, but you know what, I'm better!!!! Okay, maybe not the sag and flab, but the weight is. I think for the poll it would be when YOU thought you really starting having a weight problem, not what others thought. You KNOW I'm the one who said from a baby, which is true.
GATOR, you can change your page if you want-I have only 1 page showing so far. Enjoy your visit with your family.
JUDY, CONGRATS on hitting your first of many milestones! 10lbs is awesome!!! When I first started SB, actually, I had found those ICE BOTANICALS at BJ'S WHOLESALE and bought 2 cases. They were pretty good, but I didn't drink them often. Then I cut out all drinks with artificial sweeteners, soda, Crystal Light and even thos IB. ust be careful that you don't drink too much. If you see any rise on the scale, it may be due to the maltodextrin in it. I find that if I do have any Splenda in something in small amounts, I'm okay, but the couple times I've had it in large amounts the scales rise, so just keep watch if you tend to drink a good amount of that stuff. I never did finish even one case-kids ended up drinking it. I don't take vitamins, but I should, heck, I bought them to take, I'm so bad with stuff like that though. Are you drinking enough calcium? Getting enough potassium? That may possibly be why you are getting leg cramps, but not sure of course.
ROSE, once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY:hb: Any dinner plans for tonight? Thanks for letting me know you and DH enjoyed the cheesecake. Curious to know if you portioned/weighed out your slice and if so, how much. If I do, it' a 2oz portion, but usually I just pig out-the problem I have!! Hmmm, when we go out to a ME restaurant I either will get chicken on the grill or a falafel plate. If it comes with a salad I'll just get it with feta on top and no dressing. Eli's going to make a bulgur and lentil dish tonight. It has onions and spices and we serve it with plain yogurt on top-it's so delicious. SOL is really into the ME food now. If you can get the book A TASTE OF LEBANON, it's the best one out there and very easy to make the recipes in the book. I'll let you know if I end up going to the ME in Hen., the kids won't go with me, they eat enough of it at home. No, they want to go to RYANS!
I KNOW someone asked about the new name thing-who was it-I tried finding the post but couldn't.
Okay gals, I'm outta here for now, may not get on til tomorrow morning and if so, it will be really quick, otherwise, tomorrow night I'll be on. Don't forget TOMORROW NIGHT IS CHAT AT 9:15PM EST!!
Toodles!

Thanks all for the welcome back! Wow, there are lots of newbies here! This is a great site, very supportive, patient, and lots of times, humorous.....
Happy B-Day Beth & Rose! Hope it's a good one!
Sol - I too remember the smell of mimeographs! There's just nothing like it.
Toni48 - You wouldn't happe to have a Australian Cattle Dog/Queensland Heeler would you? <Trying to type with my dog licking my heel...> I have one, and licking is his specialty! We were trying to teach him not to mouth/bite as a pup, and he turned to licking instead. (That was NOT a good idea). Not that he doesn't nip our heels every now and again. ;)
Fillese & Monet - have you watched "Meet the Parents" with Ben Stiller & Robert DeNiro? There's a psycho cat in there too (ok, the cat ate a ton of nicotine gum prior to going beserk). It was hilarious.
Well, akin to Zanne's craving --a couple of nights ago I dreamed I ate 3 bananas, one right after the other. While I'm doing that, my outside non-dream self is saying "you can't eat that, it's not legal". But since I've been having chronic migraines these last 2 weeks, I thought maybe I needed the Magnesium in them, so I went out and bought some. I can't say they helped as I had to supplement them with the migraine pills, a dark room, a chilled eye pack and a nap. :(
I have been cheating so much, which of course is why I'm back! :D I have to get some motivation from somewhere! I did some ballet stretches (NYC ballet workout book) to see if that would help my migraines (they're usually caused by tension and/or the weather - and there ain't no rain here!). I actually felt great afterwards, barring one stretch I shouldn't have done. So, I'll try to continue that. Maybe that will even lead to some real exercise! :s:
Beth - are you a brunette? I was wondering because when I went platinum blond (I have dk brown hair) it took 2 FULL days to get there! That first day I had hair the color of a carrot. :o The second day, it was perfect. :D If that's the case, you need to go back and have her finish the job. Even if it isn't the case, she should be able to fix your hair, to get something that you're happy with. I just got highlights in my hair, and after they bleach the **** out of it, they add toner? to get it to the right color. And don't pay anything more for them to fix your hair. Good Luck!
Well, gotta go.

Wow! I did not log on for a few hours, and the posts just got away from me! I feel dazed and confused and I hope I can say all I want to say!
First off- can anyone tell me if Imitation Crab meat is ok? I know it has some starch in it, but it is very low in calories and fat and I really love the stuff, but am hesitating until I hear from some experts on whether it is ok.
What a day...my older daughter, who is getting married, was in a foul mood today, and took it out on me. I kind of think this is her way of making it easier to leave...get everyone mad at you, and be mad at everyone and it is not as frightening. In the meantime, I am trying hard not to blast her.
DEB: There are two Harry's in Atlanta, both on the north side. I live northeast of the city, about 45 minutes away from Peachtree City. I don't know that area very well, but if you want to try something interesting, you might see if there is any activity at the state farmers market. I used to go down there and buy veggies by the case for a co-op. Boy was it cheap! I know there is some kind of Whole Foods store in the intown area off I85 but it is not close to PCity. By the way, Harry's is now owned by Whole Foods. Is this a good thing, or not?
Hubby just walked in the door...time to eat! Be back later!

Today has been one busy day. We got our yearling's feet done for the first time today. She had to have a shot because she was too frightened. But alls good now. I"ve enjoyed reading the post and have been very motivated by todays thoughts and comments.
Jack-K I don't see why SB would be hurting your liver. I know when I was diagnosed with RA I read up everything I could. And the medicine seems to be the biggest enemy of the liver. I was healed so I didn't have to take medicine very long at all. Praying that things work out well for you.
Debelli Coldspring is about an hour and a half from Lufkin. I've even been there once. As for how I felt when I ate all that sugar. To be honest it didn't make me feel as bad as that I had let myself down. It was like as soon as I ate a couple of bites I just started scarfing both pieces.
Gracious I hope your hubby is feeling better. Praying for him.
Fillise Way to go breaking a new marker. It feels so good doesn't it...*smile*
A couple of questions
Is there anyone that doesn't eat a lot of meat?
Do you tend to eat three meals and snacks or do you munch off and on all day? Thanks for you help with these questions.
Love,

Hello all you Busters of Sugar!!! I am so far behind on the posts and it looks like it's not going to get any better this week. So I want to apologize right up front for ignoring you all. You've been in my thoughts . . . just no extra time to read and post. SORRY!!!
Just wanted to check in and let you know that my absence is NOT because I'm off program. My eating is going really well. I did go over on Saturday because we went out for a romantic dinner. Oooo-lah-lah. But I've been under my calorie count for most days, so I'm not too worried about that.
Keep up the good work. I promise to get on soon and answer everybody. Whew, that's quite a promise. Now I'm getting nervous. Take care everybody!!!

Hey All:wave:
Still waiting for Eli to get home. I just did his name and he would be CHIM-CHIM DIAPER FANNY!!!
CHECK OUT THE NEW PICS ON THE PHOTO ALBUM BOARD!!!! VES posted some pics of herself and two from the last SB GET TOGETHER we had this month that BIGK sent her (as well as the rest of us). She was the only one smart enough to figure out how the heck to reduce them to be able to get them on the board-I sure as heck couldn't!! THANKS VES!!!
MONET, I haven't found a surinam that doesn't have sugar in it down here. I would love to buy some, I like it and have a great quiche recipe I could use it in as well. I don't know what else is in there besides the sugars, but I know that's why I didn't buy it. The Wild Oats near me has fresh crab meat on sale this week and I was toying with the idea of buying some. Had no clue that WF now own's Harrys. Wonder how it's changed since I was there last. Found out Atlanta is only 3 hours from Hen., so may take that way home-still not sure though. My Mom likes going through Valdosta, guess we'll see. How far are you from Harry's just in case we make a mad dash through one of them. I remember coming through GA one time from Hen. and there was one right off the highway, now if I can just remember where THAT was!
COUNTRY, okay, I confess, I'm a stupid city gal, so please explain to me what "getting the yearlings feet done" means. :?: Your experience is exactly what I would do if I cheated with something sinful. I know that I wouldn't be able to stop at just a bite or two, I'd scarf it down and then find something else to eat afterwards, and like the Energizer Bunny, I'd keep going, and going, and going...We don't eat a lot of meat in our home, esp. with Michael being a vegetarian. When we do, we more or less use it as an accent. And me, I graze all day long when I eat.
QUILTER, glad to see your post-let us know what's going on with you girl!!! :D
UGH! He's not home yet, I hate eating late and it's almost 8pm-oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain-otherwise I'll be cooking!
Thought LOOPY DIAPER-TUSH should check in..:dizzy:
DEB...IF you decide to go to Atlanta and down I-75...BE SURE to let me know because I can save about 1 1/2 hrs...Instead of going I-26 to Spartenburg then onto I-85 to Atlanta...Take the exit that says US 25 (GREENVILLE) to the right and stay on US 25
down the mountain until you see a split in TRAVELERS REST with the highway splitting to the left and the right....the right is the by-pass and you want to take that until you get on I-85 following the Atlanta signs....
SPARTENBURG is way out of the way going to Atlanta...If you need a rest...stop at GREEN VALLEY exit at the TEXACO on the hill...it's your typical country store and we've been stopping there for years...they have some WONDERFUL jellies and jams there....but by all means go to the FORGE MOUNTAIN JELLY CO
in H'ville...anyone can direct you to it...they have a good selection of sugar free things, but haven't checked about malitol etc...
AND DON'T FORGET WORLD OF CLOTHING>>>>> and PARRIS SHOES...and just in my honor go to BELKS :^:
I can give you both my cousins tele & cell in Greenville if you need driving help, and her son's # in Atlanta going thru there...
Just let me know....

Evening all. Im baaaaaaaaack! Yall musta thought I dropped off
the face of the earth or maybe got swallowed up by a big ole herseys kiss. (lol)
I went to visit my sister in Louisiana while my husband worked a turnaround. Unfortuanately my commitment to this woe got put on the back burner while I was away. I just kinda lost control. I guess in a way it was good cause obviously I wasnt ready to lose the weight and now I am. Tomorrow is a new day and I have new resolve. I know it wont be easy but Ive got to do it this time.
Ive just got to make sure my mind and body are on the same wave-length.
I sure missed this board. You guys were an inspiration, yall provided the necessary butt kicking, and just listenend when I needed an ear to vent to.
I noticed there are alot of newbies joining this board. It was pretty active this weekend while I was lurking.
Well guess I will go for now.

DEB: If you come through Atlanta on I-85, you will practically go right by the Harry's that is near Gwinnett Place Mall, which is at Pleasant Hill road. If you think you might go that way, I am a skip hop and a jump from there, and could be there in about ten minutes. Let me know... I can give you my cell and phone number, and you can call as you approach ...
I did not notice any great changes at Harry's yet. I was disappointed when they did away with the great Asian area, but there are so many other Asian stores in the area, I am not desperate. They still have the best seafood in town.
Did a chocolate run tonight. (than means I am PMSing and HAD to have some chocolate, so I made my hubby run over with me to get some...) I keep asking at the HFS if they are going to get Agave in...they have it on order, but it is backordered. I still have four jars, as I am kind of hoarding it like a hamster...don't want to use it up until I can get some more. I am kind of interested in making another oat cake like one I made with apples recently. I think this time, I am going to make it with blueberries and see how it is. The agave was great in the apple one!
JACK-K: I am going to bet that the liver problems are from the meds you take, and not SB. I have Lupus, and I my primary symptoms are like RA. I have taken all kinds of really strong NSAIDs, and some really tore up my stomach. Since I started on LC four years ago, I have had very few flares. I have read that avoiding veggies in the nightshade family is helpful. That would be potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant, and (uh oh! I can't remember the other one! :o I hope the doctor can help by adjusting your meds for you. I wonder if the information in Protein Power on Eicosanoids would be helpful... I think it was for me, but I can't remember what all it said. If you don't have that book, you might see if the library has it, and read it. While I am not interested in changing to a low carb diet at this point, there is a lot of great nutritional info in the book that would apply to SB as well....
COUNTRYMOM: I tend to munch a lot all day. I have heard that six small meals a day helps keep your metabolic rate up. I eat a good bit of protein, since I came to SB from Low carb...I know I feel better with an adequate amount of protein, which is a lot higher than the USDA food pyramid wants to tell me. I try to keep my ratio as 30% fat, 30% carbs, and 40% protein. To do this, I almost have to use protein supplements. Since I am hypothroid, I avoid soy in any form (it is very bad for the thyroid!) and so I use whey protein. My fav is Designer Whey, vanilla praline. A couple scoops of it in milk and you really get your protein up with no fat! I go for leaner meats and fish. I like a lot of non meat protein sources too, like cheese and beans. I think I like the beans cause I have not been able to have them for so long on LC, and now can on SB. I think I eat less by eating more smaller meals. I do keep tabs on it with DietPower, which is a program that you log your weight and food intake and exercise on. You can download a trial version of it at DietPower.com. Sorry I am so wordy...hope some of my ramblings help!
TREE: I will see if I can find that movie. I like mindless comedies and romances. If the two are combined, all the better! My daughter works at Blockbuster, so we get free movies...she is always asking me what I want..and I never have an idea! Won't she be surprised! hehe! My all time favorite movie, while on the subject of movies, is Pride and Prejudice. I also love Emma by A&E, and Mansfield Park and Sense and Sensibility. See? I like romance! I think I will write one some day! I am sorry to hear you get migraines. I do too! Mine are very cyclic. My massage therapist told me to get in a hot tub of water and put an ice pack on my head...it really works! Try it! Take a book and read while you relax...something about the different temps helps balance your system. Or so they say....
Ok...I need to get off here and get ready for bed. Night all! Sweet dreams!

Happy Birthday Beth and Rose!! :) I hope you have a wonderful b-day.
I had too many carbs and coffee today, so I'm pounding down the water now like a madman! I plan to do a session on the treadmill later tonight, so the extra water will do me good. Can someone tell me about the chat tomorrow? Where is it and can anyone join in? Is there a web-based chatroom or does it use IRC? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

HiedeiHo All!!!
Just a quick note from Chimchim Bubble Sniffer.
I went to the NH today, it was really a good group discussion today. Went to gym, upped my time on bike and URE, also increased weights on abs and back.
Picked up brace for my left wrist, I think it might help as wrist feels better when it's on.
Still getting caught up on my rest, took another nap today. That's two days in a row.
Son is traveling, we had leftovers tonioghjt, didn't have to cook.
I see a couple of newcomers, welcome. I have gotten so much encouragement from this Board.
Take care all. sef

A quick check before I catch up on some work!
I did 1409 calories today 20% fat, 44% carbs, and 36% protein. Here is the breakdown:
Morning snack:
6 oz Blue Bunny SF Key Lime Pie yogurt
Lunch
3 slices Bryans cooked ham
2 slices SGWW toast
1 tsp mayo
1 squirt mustard
1/2 cucumber
Snacks:
WW tortilla chips to equal 1 tortilla (8)
apple
Dinner
1 boneless skinless chicken breast coated in FF drymilk, seasoning and baked.
1.5 cups lima beans
My average for the last 7 days stays at 40 % carbs/29% fat/31% protein and a little over 1400 calories consumed calories consumed.
Ok this is the me who has been saying for a YEAR that I didn't like counting stuff. I still don't, but it really seems to be helping, so It's winning me over.
Daramus--It will be OK! I am finding it helps to worry more about keeping the weekly averages in check--day to day fluctuates, but as long as the weekly stays right I feel like I'm winning the battle.
Monet--there's a Harry's right near Gwinnett Place? I come by there all the time when I visit relatives in Greenville SC. I'll have to give you a shout the next time I head up that way!
Catlover--welcome home! We missed you and are glad you've come back. We'll help you get back on the wagon!
Kim--even if you don't have time to answer everybody--just let us know how you are doing! I'm glad to hear that it's going well and that your even getting some romance!
CountryMom--It feels great! It has been a long time coming too! What do you think has been the best thing you've done to keep yourself on track through an 80 lb loss?
tree--I haven't seen Meet the parents, but I guess I'll have to. I can't imagine Belle on nicotine! At the moment she's being sweet kitty (that means she's asleep), about the time I go to bed she'll get ready to rumble!
OK--Got to get caught up on some work.
Nighty night everyone:yawn:

Country--I don't eat much meat. Today I had about 4 oz. of meat. I count chicken and fish as meat, along with beef, etc. It is all flesh food as far as I'm concerned. I eat split peas, beans in place of meat and am trying to eat lots of veggies. I will sauté 4 oz. of chicken breast and slice it up to top a salad at lunch, and then just have veggies for supper.
Cat Lover--Welcome back. I've missed you. I've taken up golf and am now comfortable enough to play on a par three course near my home. I shot "bogie golf" last week with a 36 and then a 37 for two nines. I improved 10 strokes over the week before.
Tree--glad to see you on the board. I've not been on the board so much lately because it is hard for me to keep up.
Well, just wanted to say Hi again.

Good evening everyone!!!
I cannot believe there are already two pages of posts and its just the first day of this new weekly board.
I had the best time earlier this evening. My DD got these wild flower pants for her birthday and got really mad at me last week when I tried them on and actually zipped them up. Anyway, she was saying how they were all stretched out and now that they were just washed she said I wouldn't fit in them. I love a challenge so off I went to put them on. And they still zipped up :smug: She was not very happy so she preceeded to give me other pants and shorts of hers to try on and I got all of them on. Now most were very snug and I wouldn't wear them (or sit down in them) but they still went on. I know she's proud of me but hates that I am catching up to her. I feel like such a mean mom for boosting but it sure felt good. She refuses to SB but I have noticed she is slowly altering her eating habits without "crossing over".
I feel like I have the SB police living with me. My 2 sons will not let me cheat. I got them Blizzards at Dairy Queen this wekend and was trying to sneak a bite but they wouldn't budge and give me ANY. I swear I only wanted a taste ;) I am glad they stay strong for me.
Judy - I have been wondering about vitamins too. I have never been good at remembering to take pills but thought they might be a wise addition to this WOE. But then I am eating better than I ever have so maybe now I don't need them???
Welcome to all the newbies
My bed is calling me - will try to post again tomorrow

For all of you who missed the Name Changing post from Missy from last week:
<<All of you have to do this and then post your "new name on the board for all of us to see.
My new name is Snotty BubbleBiscuit!
Sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need some silliness to break up the day. Here is your dose... Follow the instructions to find your new name.
The following is an excerpt from a children's book, "Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants", by Dave Pilkey:
The evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names...
Use the third letter of your first name to determine your New first
name:
> > >a=poopsie
> > >b=lumpy
> > >c=buttercup
> > >d=gidget
> > >e=crusty
> > >f=greasy
> > >g=fluffy
> > >h=cheeseball
> > >i=chim-chim
> > >j=stinky
> > >k=flunky
> > >l=booger
> > >m=pinky
> > >n=zippy
> > >o=goober
> > >p=doofus
> > >q=slimy
> > >r=loopy
> > >s=snotty
> > >t=tulefel
> > >u=dorkey
> > >v=squeezit
> > >w=oprah
> > >x=skipper
> > >y=dinky
> > >z=zsa-zsa.
Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your new last name:
> > >a = diaper
> > >b = toilet
> > >c = giggle
> > >d = burger
> > >e = girdle
> > >f = barf
> > >g = lizard
> > >h = waffle
> > >i = cootie
> > >j = monkey
> > >k = potty
> > >l = liver
> > >m = banana
> > >n = rhino
> > >o = bubble
> > >p = hamster
> > >q = toad
> > >r = gizzard
> > >s = pizza
> > >t = gerbil
> > >u = chicken
> > >v = pickle
> > >w = chuckle
> > >x = tofu
> > >z = stinker
Use the fourth letter of your last name to determine the second half of your new last name:
> > >a = head
> > >b = mouth
> > >c = face
> > >d = nose
> > >e = tush
> > >f = breath
> > >g = pants
> > >h = shorts
> > >i = lips
> > >j = honker
> > >k = butt
> > >l = brain
> > >m = tushie
> > >n = chunks
> > >o = hiney
> > >p = biscuits
> > >q = toes
> > >r = buns

> > >t = sniffer
> > >u = sprinkles
> > >v = kisser
> > >w = squirt
> > >x = humperdinck
> > >y = brains
> > >z = juice
Thus, for example, George W. Bush's new name is Goober Chickenshorts. Bill Clinton's name is Booger Liverchunks. >>
So, I'm Crusty Waffle Sniffer!
Judy - re the leg cramps. I think Prevention said cold air on your legs at night causes those charley horses at night or when you wake up in the am. I find that I get leg cramps after lots of walking or running. I also find that I'm usually really dehydrated which may actually be the real problem.
Pooch - wtg on the DQ - that's one of my faves, especially the German Choc Blizzard. Luckily, your sons came to your rescue. Somehow I get the craving when DH is not around! Congrats on your pants challenge! Keep up the good work!
Hi Gatorgal! Boy, has this site grown. It's hard to write back to everyone. Kudos to Debelli for being able to do that! It's much easier to read and send mental vibes. Hope you're doing well.
Monet - I am a sap for romances. My absolute favorite is "Somewhere in Time" w/ Jane Seymour & Christopher Reeve. Meet the Parents is a romantic comedy- so you'll enjoy it. Some of the stuff is over the top though.
The last movie I really enjoyed was "MonkeyBone". I was not even interested in watching it, as the trailers seemed raunchy - even the name was raunchy! But my DS kept saying "you have to watch it just for the dead gymnast part", played by Chris Kattan. So, we finally rented the video. Now, there's some parts that probably were ill-advised and definitely should have been excluded. I don't know if I'd let kids watch it (I don't remember the rating). But the dead gymnast part - I fell off the couch, I was laughing so hard! Even, DH agreed it was funny.
Well, gotta go.

TAKE IT OFF TUESDAY
That's my new motto for today. I mean the pounds ladies(lol). Each day I try to make up a new motto for everyday. Reading all your interesting daily lives just help me keep on track.
Filise: Thanks for the new info on detox
Jack K: Thanks for acknowledging my newness to the group.
Hope you have wonderful day and just keep on keeping on the path the leads to better health and lighter days.

Just checking in to tell y'all that I feel a teeny bit better. My eyeballs feel like they are going to pop out, but my throat isn't quite as scratchy. We'll see how it goes tonight.
Tree and Cat: WELCOME BACK!! Come on in, there's plenty of room.
Cat: I think we have to be ready for this change of life, not just a diet to lose weight. I had the Sugarbusters book for a year before I finally read it thoroughly and was truly ready to change. I think that's how I've been able to stick with this even with this slowdown. If it'd been just a "diet," I probably would have become really discouraged and given up. This is just my way of life now and the weight will come off and I will reap all the benefits of this healthy lifestyle.
Ves: Thanks for putting up the picture of the SB group. It's great to put faces with names.
It's getting late and I apologize for not responding to all.
Poopsie Bubblekisser needs her beauty sleep. That name just rolls off my tounge and it really fits my personality!:p
Nighty - night,

Good evening everybody. I didnt' get to work out till late so here I am past my bedtime reading all the posts. As always since I've joined I'm enjoying all your posts. I'm gonna try and use my memory to answer the questions ya'll asked...LOL That could be scarey. *smile*
Debbie...sorry about not explaining that our yearling is our newest Mare. She is a Belguim horse. We have three mares. You think women with pms are bad..LOL My daughter is a horse person.
I don't know that I'm a good example to the SB WOE...what I mean is..I dont count anything...I didn't know there were cool things on the market that you buy...like Agave...I don't even know what it is but I sure would like to know..please. What is it and where do you get it.
I graze a lot. In the summer I keep cauliflower around all the time. It's my favorite because it's crunchie and really satisfies the munchies. One of my favorite recipes is to cook cauliflower till soft and add mayo..onions...green olives and tomatoes. I am so bad I can't eat it as a side dish..it has to be the main course. Another favorite is guacamole...
I drink water....water...and more water. This winter my water consumtion went down and so did the weight loss.
During the summer and early winter I had no trouble because there were tons of fresh veggies. Winter was sooooooo hard. I hope next year I am better prepared with food ideas.
You know what one of the best things about losing the weight has been...I can tie my own shoes again. *smile*
Love,
Crystle

OK... yesterday was singlehandedly the WORST birthday of my entire life. I had to clean the house, do the dishes, laundry... spend hours at the ballpark, my hair looks like crap, I got hit in the lip with a door... then DH and I argued and he didn't even go get my dinner I wanted, so I didn't even eat anything but a cup of cereal yesterday. I just went to bed without dinner.
I'm officially requesting a birthday do-over. The last one sucked.

Beth- Sorry you had such a bad day :(
Pooch- I LOL re: sharing your DD's clothes; mine is 15 and we are hitting a similar point. We are about 5 pounds apart right now and I'm still heading down ;)
She's been in serious denial but I think when she bought some size 5 jeans this weekend (the same size as the ones I just bought, still a bit tight on me for public display) it started to sink in! :)
Hope everyone is having a good week; I about killed myself on UB yesterday so I'm actually looking forward to cardio today.

Hey Everybody!!!
I have a question that I keep forgetting to ask. Has anybody ever heard of an amino acid called 5HTP. It's supposed to help people who have trouble sleeping or have depression. A friend of mine is really struggling with the sleeping aspect and has tried just about everything. Since she knows I have this GOLDMINE OF KNOWLEDGE at my fingertips from the people on this board, she asked me to post about it. She wants to know if any of you have tried it or heard of it and what you know. Thanks, friends. I'm eager to see if any of you know anything about it.
Also, FILLISE, have you checked out that calorie number with her highness? Because I think she's going to say YOU AREN'T EATING ENOUGH. But then again, I could be wrong. I can't remember what you weigh, but I'm thinking that you need more. What do you think, DEB???? Am I right????
Well, gotta go. Gotta make Paully his morning smoothie. We are ADDICTED to them!!!!!
Hugs to all,

Just thought I would drop in before I actually starting working, still waiting for the coffee to kick in (I drink decaf, probably will be waiting a long time) LOL.
Quilter, Glad to see someone else is hooked on smoothies. My DH wants one every day. I try not to overdo them though.
Pooch, I feel ya on the DQ issue (as my 19 year old would say). They do have a NS added dilly bar. Haven't tried them yet, afraid to get hooked. Have enought trouble with the NS added ice cream I get at the grocery. Really have to make myself not eat it too often. I also have been wearing my daughter's clothes. She really hates it, doesn't like to share. Makes me feel good though. Wish she would come over to our side. She needs to lose about 30 and needs to do so before her wedding 14 months from now. Maybe she will soon or later. One good thing though, my coworker is doing SB with me and she gave me 2 pair of pants that she can no longer wear. It helps because I hate to keep buying clothes I have been going down a size in about 2 months time. (Don't you just hate that).
Beth, Hate to hear you had such a bad bday. What a bummer! Pick another day and we will pretend it's your bday.
Jred, hope you are feeling better. I agree with you about this being a WOL instead of a diet. My boss asked me the other day how much longer I have to stay on this diet. I told him the rest of my life. It's not too bad though.
Gottabeme, Loved your idea for Take it Off Tuesday. Inspired me to work a little harder tonite on my exercies. Maybe I can get another pound off by WIW.
Tree, thanks for explaining the name game. I was really confused. Must have missed that post. BTW, my new name is BUTTERCUP GIZZARD LICKER. Doesn't really suit me. Your's suits me better.
Judy, I take a few vitamins. Don't take what I should because I take so many other meds and I'm not a pill person so I hate to take them. I do take B6 for my carpal tunnel, Calcium, E, and I have to take folic acid to counteract my meds. Must husband takes about 10-15 a day though. Big believer.
Country, I eat 3 meals aday. With a snack in the morning. Maybe a snack at nite, but not to often.
Well, the boss is hovering so I better get to work. Check in later.
Have a great day everyone!:D

Good morning everyone...It's me... I've been lerking and finally decided to post again. Have been in a depressed state since February. So starting over again!
Tree... I have a winner of a new name according to your post are you ready.... Dinky Diaper Tush! Not so sure about the dinky part LOL!! It probably should be droopy!
I have been tracking my food on fit day for the past week and I can't seem to get enough protein in. This is apparently my problem. Seem to do ok with the fat and carbs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Debelli - Harry's in Peachtree City closed, From what was on the news he is closing several stores in the atlanta area; I went by the Peachtree store the other day and it's gone. I though it was doing great.

I spent a long time composing a post, and my stupid Explorer decided there was some error and had to close....grr! Sometimes I hate computers!
I wanted to pontificate on vitamins. Here is what I take daily, and why:
*Twinlab daily one without iron- all around good vitamin/mineral supplement. I use the no iron cause there is a direct correlation to high iron stores and heart disease. Since my hubby takes them too, I don't want to do anything that might endanger his health.
*one or two 500mg time release natural vitamin C- promotes healthy bones, connective tissue(I have lupus, I need this esp!) also helps the absorbtion of calcium and wards off illness.
* calcium, magnesium and zinc to =100%RDA- ALL women should take calcium. Osteoporosis is preventable with good calcium intake and weight bearing exercise. Calcium will also help leg cramps, and regulate blood pressure.
* 400 mg vitamin E - water soluable, mixed tocopherol- great antioxidant properties, promotes healthy cardiovascular system, good for the nervous system, etc.
*2 500mg evening primrose oil -standardized- this helps with the symptoms of PMS, also promotes other healthy hormone systems, as well as helps BP.
*CoEnzyme Q10- helps BP, and metabolism.
My husband also takes Echinachea. I can't since I have lupus, but he has not had a cold or gotten sick in two years since he started.
I think everyone one should take a good quality multi and all women should take calcium. You may be eating well, but you are limiting what you eat more than likely to lose, and you will do better, and feel better with adequate vitamin and mineral intake. I can tell when I forget my vitamins. We have tried all kinds of supplements through the years, since my hubby has a degree in biochemistry, but if we do not see a difference, we will not continue it. The above list has remained pretty constant for me for the past few years.
QUILTER: I have heard of 5HTP, but not much. The supplement I hear that helps sleep is melatonin. St. John's Wort is supposed to help mood. When using herbs look for a standardized compound. At least then you know it is tested and delivers the amount of herb it claims.
TREE: Thanks for the recommendation of "Somewhere in Time". I will get that one too. I like to read romances too. I have a kind of obsessive addiction to them. If I find an author I like, I have to read ALL their books. Right now, I am driving myself nuts trying to read all of Marion Chesney's novels. They are light, silly, and sometimes poorly written, but there are a few good ones. Her series are her best works. She has more time to develop characters. My all time favorite author though is Loretta Chase. Her books are fab!
FILLISE: Yes, there is a Harry's about two blocks off from Gwinnett Place. It is over by Costco and Dave and Busters. If you are going to be in that area, by all means let me know. It is very close to me, and it would be fun to have some real time with others from the board.
BETH: I hate bad birthdays, so I am with you. Happy Birthday, again! Have a great day today! Everyone deserves at least two birthdays! You could do it Alice in Wonderland style! A very merry UNbirthday, to you! :hb:
Ok...time to get something done. Have a good day everyone!

Such a load of reading to do!! I am all caught up for now it seems so here we go. We are do for another snow storm, can you believe this?! Storm warning in effect and we are expecting 15-20 cm over night followed by 15 mm of rain Wednesday morning. The kids will probably get the day off from school again so that leaves me housebound with 5 kids!:dizzy: I trust this is the last one of the season. Sheesh, it *is* officially spring, ya know!
I exercise 6 days a week and yesterday was so full I didn't get any in, although I had planned on it...therefore my one day off is already spent! :( Oh well....gotta have a good attitude about this!
We took the kidlettes out to dinner last night as the third and final birthday celebration for dd. We went to a Chinese Food Buffet at her request. I did very well because they had a decent selection. I stuck to shrimp, some ribs without coating and veggies. Still weighing in at 165 today so I didn't do any damage it seems. Of course tomorrow is WIW so my possessed scale will undoubtedly scheme and add a pound like it always does..we shall see!
JUDY- Seems to be a lot of SB'ers say that the extra vitamins are not needed because we are supposed to be eating a balanced diet with this WOE. That might be true, but as long as one does not overdose, I don't think it hurts. I take a multi vitamin and mineral supplement, calcium (my mom has osteoporosis), potassium (Because I was getting leg cramps and they stopped when I started potassium) and I just recently started taking a low dose B vitamin one that has a variety of the B's in it. Out of our family members, I get sick the least. I also noticed that my nails are longer and stronger than before I took vitamins ( I started about 6 months ago) so overall I am pleased and think they do me good.
NASCAR GIRL-Maybe you could add some protein powder if your carbs and fat intake are perfect and you only need the protein. I made a kind of smoothie creation the other day using some milk, some yogurt, all fruit spread and the protein powder...it wasn't bad at all. It had 18 grams of protein, no carbs and only 0.2 grams of fat. Oh...the other thing I love to eat is fish. I fry some sole up with a wee bit of spray and there you have practically fat free and totally carb free protein source.
Gotta go...one kidlette is crying and it is nap time!

So Many Posts! Haven't had a chance to read all of them yet. Just checking in.
We're supposed to have a big storm with up to 4 inches of snow. right now it looks like it's kind of raining and I have to go and pick up my car from being serviced (I'm walking! ) YUCK!
Did really well with the food yesterday. Made some hummus--only a half batch, since I don't seem to finish it when I make it. The other half a can of beans, I made chickpea salad. Mmmmm. DS & DH really liked it. It's very easy. I'll get it posted soon.
I pulled something in my neck and down into the shoulder last night when I was lifting weights. Had to stop:( No sense pushing on and damaging it more. Still a bit sore today, but it should be back to par for next upper body workout.
I'm going to have to go back and read the posts and take notes!
WELCOME BACK all those who've been MIA for a bit.
BETH-I agree with JACK-K-Pick another day and make it your b-day
GRACIOUS Guess you're getting the storm after us! I thought it was spring? Oh well, it IS still March:shrug:
JRED Glad to hear you're doing a bit better. Hope you're all better real soon
GOTTABEME Love the "take it off Tuesday"! If I tell my DH that, he WON'T be thinking weight;) :o
I gotta get out of here to get the car before the weather gets too bad. The temp is just right for making the roads real slippery.
Talk to ya later ladies and gentleman!

Hi y'all. I haven't had time to catch up on everyone the last few days, but I thought I'd pop in. I did look back to see what was up with the new names.:?: Just call me Zippy Diapertush.:D I don't know what has happened, but I've got a whole different attitude than I've had the last month or so. And it's a good change. I have been so unmotivated and feeling lousy that I haven't even really tried to stay OP. Somehow yesterday my attitutde about it seemed different. I even exercised!:eek:One of the K teachers bought a walking tape and several teachers have been doing that after school. I volunteered my room since it is large and has no desks in it. Lots of open space to move. Anyway, I felt soooo good after we finished. I hope this new attitude stays around. I hope to catch up on everyone today.

Hi everyone
I ned to finish the laundry and some other cleaning but decided to take a quick break and read what's happening. I am finding that if I don't read everyday (sometimes twice a day) that I miss so much thats its hard to catch up.
Zanne and Gracious - yuk about the snow. I grew up in Michigan and do not miss that wetaher at all - well maybe at Christmas but thats it. We woke up to a blanket of fog and it still hasn't burned off. The weather guesser said we would hit 72 today but I'm having my doubts.
Monet - thanks for the vitamin advice. We have a GNC on base and I'll have to check out what they have later this week.
Jack-K - my mom told me about the sugar fee ice cream bars - she manages a DQ up in Michigan. They don't carry them at the DQ that my DD works at. I figure once she's been there awhile I'll see if she can talk them into stocking some. I know what you mean about buying the SF from the stores - just too tempting if its in the house. My favorite is the butter pecan.
Semmens - my DD is 16 so we are close to you guys in that aspect. Unfortunatley we are no where near a size 5 - good for you. I think I was prebably about 12 years old lst time I wore a 5:o
Beth - I agree with everyone else - have another b-day:hb: better yet have several until they get it right.
Tree - I love the movie Somewhere in Time and was surprised you knew of it. Of course we used to go to Macinaw Island every summer which is where it was filmed. I remember when my DH and I were first married and went there he looked at me all funny becuase I was so wrapped up in the movie - definately a chick flick. It was on tv just a few weeks ago. To this day, no cars are on the island so everyone walks or rents bikes. And the fudge they make :T is to die for.
Well I need to go finish cleaning and figure out what to do for Cub Scouts tonight - oh boy!!

Good Morning Everyone!
It is rainy and stormy here today! I may have to log off the computer if the storm gets works.
Still at 236.5 today. I've put my menu together for today and it is low in protein. So I'll have to think about that and see what I can come up with.
Music--I think spring must bring new attitudes. This winter and last it was all I could do to stay halfway OP--but now I do seem much more motivated and eager to stay OP. Hmmm, do you think it might have anything to do with the Lands End bathing suit catalogues that seem to show up in my mail a couple of times a week?????
Zanne--I have all the stuff to make hummus, but haven't yet. I'm thinking I'll make it over the weekend.
Monet--I will definatly give you a shout when I get up that way again! I will echo the calcium, I have a 90 year old great aunt whose spine is disentegrating. Her bones are so week they no longer support her. She always refused to take calcium--and she has been bedridden for years. Her big sister (103!) exercised regularly and took vitamins and is going strong. Until very recently she did 100 situps every morning--she has cut it back to 50 in the last year.
Nascar--I second the fish idea--it is a good protein boost without a lot of fat.
Opps--got to go
Talk to you soon.

Hit the gym last night and jumped on the dreaded scale. I lost 2 pounds! This is the kind of thing that really keeps me going!
I'm a newbie so I don't have any tips as of yet...but you guys have given me a lot to chew on. THANKS!
I mentioned my WOE to some people and it turns out that two friends and my boyfriend all want to lost weight and get in shape! Funny how spring gets you moving.
Went to bed with a massive headache, I think it was de-toxing. I had problems completing my workout since my head was pounding and I felt dizzy. Had some OJ right afterwards and felt a little better. Posting what I eat on fitday and I always seems to fall short on calories. Lacking protein even though I'm eating meat twice a day. Maybe I'll get some of that protein powder.
Back to work!

Good morning, all.
Well, the sun is shining and it's a gorgeous day. Still a little crisp bite in the air, but supposed to be in the 60's today and 70's tomorrow and the rest of the week (sorry, Gracious and Zanne). I have 3 buds on one of my rosebushes and life is good!
Beth - you absolutely get a bd do-over. You pick. A friend of mine has a birthday week. I agree with the others that you should go back to the hair salon and tell them that you're not happy with your hair. You're paying a premium for a service and it should be done right.
Gracious - Sorry to hear your hubby is sick again. Whew, you've really had a time. With all the taking care of him, don't forget to take care of yourself, too.
Deb - You know, I completely forgot to tell my son about the new name. He will get such a hoot out of it.
Oh yeah, Mom brag time, but this time I have to brag about his teacher. She was selected to be in a training video for educators. The camera crew is coming today and tomorrow and I can't tell you how excited the kids are! Teachers today get such a bad rap all the time. I know we've got some teachers on the board, so pay attention right now, this is all of us grateful parents patting you on the back. Great Job!!!
Fillise - Way to go on the new low.
BusDeb - Have fun on the camping trip. My husband is on a mission to buy an RV. We'll probably end up buying one this summer sometime.
IDBlond - I really loved your Motivational Monday quote. My oldest DS has ADD. This was one of the things that we all had to learn when he was diagnosed and it's still something that he struggles with. Giving him an assignment or task that is large can just overwhelm him to the point that he gives up, regardless of the consequences. Break it down into smaller manageable segments and he thrives.
YellowRose - Hope you enjoyed your Birthday.
Ok, all together now, "take it off, take it all off (the pounds, that is)" from your pal, Chim-Chim Gizzard Chunks!!!
Have a great day, everyone.

Howdy all!
To all of you in the vicinity (ORLANDO), who are training hard and keeping in shape :D
There will be a 5K race at Lake Underhill Lockhead Martin facility.
Looks like fun - and this is the link to it:

I am doing it with my training buddy from school. She has years of racing experience and she says these races are fun!!

Someone was talking about books - I love Janet Evanovich's series - they crack me up and I'm so disappointed that I've read/listened to them all. I'm now on the series by another lady I can't remember her name right now, but the ones I've listned to are "D is for Deadbeat", "P is for Peril" and some others with similar names. I'll get her name and post it.
Day 2 of serious detox is underway. Hopefully tomorrow will have something to show for it.
GATORGAL - Good to see you on here! I'm jealous of your butterfly garden - sounds wonderful. I have my options set at like 20+ posts per page, so I'm just now starting page 2. Can't wait to hear about your trip!
JUDY - Vince used to get leg cramps rather often and started taking a supplement that has practically reduced his cramping to nothing. I'll ask him. We daily take a multi-vitamin, Vit B supplement and Glucosamine/Chondritin supplement. We take Lysine when we feel a cold sore coming on or conditions are right for one to break out. We take echinacea when we are starting to get sick. Extra Vitamin C when that's needed, too. He takes additional stuff, but I can't keep up with all his goodies. I know the leg stuff helps him. We sound like regular druggies, don’t we?!?!
ROSE - I'll try to get the recipe for the bran muffins posted tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. I'm such a procrastinator and that one will have to be typed in.
DEBBIE - Since both of us have N for the 3rd letter of our name we're both Zippy Liverfaces. If someone called for Zippy at home we'd have to ask a few more questions to figure out who they really wanted to talk to.
TREE/CrustyWaffleSniffer - Welcome back! LOVE the name!!
MONET/Booger Gigglehiney - another great name! I'm anxiously awaiting an answer to your imitation crab meat question as I love it too, but, alas, I'm afraid we're going to get a :nono: on it. I think of how many times I took things out on my mom and how much crap she put up with. No wonder I don't have any kids - those curses about having kids as bad as yourself work sometimes and I'm scared.
COUNTRY - I'm a carnivore ;) but I also eat all day. I have:
eggs around 5:30am,
oatmeal around 7:30 am,
a piece of fruit or protein powder mixed in yogurt around 9:00 am
Lunch around 11 am
Fruit or some other snack around 3pm
Dinner around 7pm
My boss laughs that I'm always eating when she comes by my desk -- and I usually am as I eat very slowly.
QUILTER!!!! I miss you, Girlfriend, when you're not here! Thanks for checking in!! Glad to hear that it's not because you're avoiding us!
VESNA - Thanks a million for posting our mugs on the board! Does that mean you have a scanner?!? If so, I may give you one of 'THE LOOK' to post, but I have to show it to DEBBIE first. I definitely want to post the ones of BOB and me fighting over the coffee and the WINNER holding all the coffee!
LOOPY DIAPER-TUSH
DARAMUS - DEBBIE usually posts a link to the chat room, but you can also go to the main/home page for 3 Fat Chicks and enter the chat rooms that way. You'll have a blast in there!
SEF/Chimchim Bubble Sniffer - I LOVE leftover nights! My mom used to make THE BEST soup from all our leftovers when they piled up in the kitchen. I've tried desparately to duplicate the flavor, but our leftovers just don't taste as good, I guess.
FILLISE - If you're losing then I ain't gonna tell you to change it, but I know at 200 lbs. I was put on 1600 calories as 1400 was too low for me…..especially with working out. You're kicking butt sooooo I'll just hope I can get the scale moving again before you bypass me. :D
POOCH - I have SB police in my house too - and mine has PERFECTED the "police glare" - ask the gals who've met my Meister - he plays cop very well! Not to mention the fact that it's pretty easy for him to eat this way with me - he doesn't get tempted nearly as much as I do - and he can afford to!
JRED/Poopsie Bubblekisser - I do believe that's one my favorites!
BETH - I'm sooooo sorry to hear that your day wasn't as special as you are! We celebrate special occasions all week - I definitely say you get to call 'DO OVER'! I agree with the consensus on going back to get your hair fixed the way you want it. I think young, sweet things like you would rather suffer than cause waves or stand up to someone sometimes - I get more bold the older I get - Heck, I even got called "ma'am" the other day. I told the kiddo that I knew what a "ma'am" was and I WAS NOT old enough to be a "ma'am" thank you very much. He gave me a weird look. I should have complimented him on his manners since they're so hard to find around here.
NASCAR - good to see you back!! I was wondering if you'd joined a pit crew and we'd never hear from you again! Great race on Sunday, don'tcha think?
I have to run the Network **** will be by soon. I'll try to get to everyone else later.
 Have a great day!

I love the snow--even like shoveling it! It looks so pretty outside.
ROSALIE How is it around you?
GRACIOUS Anything out your way yet?
I posted a recipe for Chickpea salad on the recipe board.
I have a suggestion for those who need protein. Would hummus work? I'm sitting here munching on hummus and celery. The chickpeas are protein and the celery has next to no calories. The only thing may be the tahini would give you a tiny bit of fat.
Just a suggestion.

My little boy is back to struggling with a fever again, I just don't understand what's going on. My DH is home with him today and going to take him to the Dr. later this morning. Needless to say, I stopped by Starbucks for a half caf this morning - wishing I had gotten a fully caffinated drink! I have been journaling my food at Fitday, and I although yesterday was much better all around, I still seem to be getting a majority of my calories from fat. I assume this is why I'm still stuck at 165. I'm going to continue journaling and was wondering if anyone might be willing to take a look at what I'm eating and give some input, maybe over the weekend, after I get a solid week of data input?
I won't be able to catch up on reading all of your posts at the moment (I cannot believe we are already at 4 pages!), but I wanted to share the meditation I got this morning, it goes right along with yesterday....
To believe in something not yet proved and to underwrite it with our lives; it is the only way we can leave the future open. --Lillian Smith
Today stands before us, ready for our involvement. And it will offer us opportunities for personal growth and occasion to help another make progress on her path to the future. Challenges are to be expected. They further our purpose. They foster our maturity.
How different it is, for many of us, to look forward today with secure anticipation, to trust in what the future holds! We can still remember, all too vividly perhaps, the darker periods in our lives, periods that seemed to hold no promise; a time when we dreaded the future, fearing it would only compound those awful times. The fear and the dread are not gone completely. They hover about us, on occasion. They no longer need to darken all of a day, however. We can recognize their presence as parts of our whole, not all of it. How free we are, today! Our choices are many.
I can step toward today with assurance, reaching out to others along the way, trusting that my accumulated steps add stability to my future.

Good Afternoon Everyone
I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone, there are so many posts. We have snow here again to-day which isn't making me very happy. I want to go out and do some shopping but I have to clean off my car and shovel the front porch before I go. Maybe I will just hibernate for the day.
I was out yesterday to a badminton tournament. Didn't win anything but it was fun. We had a pot luck lunch. I didn't do too badly. Had a salmon sandwich on ww bread, just one slice. Plus some fruit and cheese and a small piece of poppyseed cake. Messed up last evening as I had the munchies before going to bed and ended up eating some store bought granola which was full of sugar. I have to start making the Almond Granola again so I have something legal to munch on.
Beth - Sorry to hear you had such a rough time on your birthday. :(
JackieK - Vitamin E is supposed to be good for irritable legs. My legs bother me sometimes, usually when I am tired, and I have found that Vit. E. helps.
Vesna - Thanks for posting the pics on the board.
Solshine - My dd is a fan of those books you mentioned - I forget the authors name. She had a tape of M is for Mystery on our trip. We tried to listen to it in the car but we had too many interruptions from the kids and my ds calling us on the walkie-talkie so we had to give up. Something to put on my 'to read' list.
Zanne - It's snowing just a little bit here at the moment. The main road that I can see from my back window looks fairly clear but the side roads are covered and I have a couple of inches to clean off of my van. I'm really feeling too lazy to get out there and do it. We'll see how I feel after lunch!. Hummus and celery is a good snack. It's a good idea to make just half a batch. When I made it I used the whole can but I ended up throwing out some of it as I am the only one eating it. I'll have to check out your chick pea salad. I am making falafels for lunch to-day so I had better hold off on the hummus for a few days :)
Sorry I haven't time to respond to everyone but I am thinking of you all and wish you all well on WIW tomorrow.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Hey! Everyone thanks for the fish tips...but I don't like fish only shrimp and lobster and can't have that everyweek! DH says I "ain't right" cause I don't like fish! :?: Any other ideas?
Sol - That was a great race wasn't it?! Bobby finally made it to the top 5 :strong: YEA!!!
The Saturday race was a heck of a match too!
I'm going to try and find some recipes on the board everyone have a great Day!!

Well... it was back to work today, but at least my boss got me a card and a gift. (She got me an Eeyore t-shirt because I have EVERYTHING Eeyore, but she got me an XL and it's BIG!!!!!!!!!)
I'm taking back a pair of size 16 jeans today that I never wore, and shrunk out of before I did!!! Amazing. We have a fire department BBQ tonite, and I haven't been able to participate much lately, so when everyone sees me, I'll be about 10 pounds lighter than last time they saw me!
I'm on Day Two of MEGA-DETOX. Wondering if our fearless leader has a portable DUNGEON? I was drinking diet soda, and pushing that limit still, even after I said I wasn't. Well... Yesterday I was too upset to eat... so I only had one bowl of cereal and some cheese... (BAD GIRL!) But today, I started with cereal, and for lunch had some grilled chicken and pinto beans ( I'm OUT of salad! Gotta go shopping!) and then I'll eat a good dinner and snack later. Maybe I'll buy some berries :) I've had nothing but water to drink today, and I'm gonna try to get over to my MIL's tonite and weigh in for WIW. (Shhhh I know it's Tuesday, but don't tell the scale, maybe it will stay down cause it's not Weds. yet!!!) That's IT!! We'll all weigh in on Tues, and just POST it on WIW! LOL!!
Thanks for all the good thoughts for me :) I was up most of the night upset about having the lousiest birthday yet... but I guess it happens. I'm probably lucky I've only had one in my 28. :)
Well, I'm off to the mall while the kids are still napping at the daycare... Oh... and BTW... :crosses fingers: The pinkeye has retreated... or so it seems :) YAY!!!

Beth - like Monte said from Alice in Wonderland, you can have only 1 birthday but you can have 364 unbirthdays in a year! Pick one and we'll celebrate with you! I have a friend who celebrates her b-day starting one week prior to the big day (how's that for partying!).
Just an FYI on the St. John's Wort - it can make the birth control pill less effective. Also, for Monet, Echinacea shouldn't be taken long-term (according to the label on mine). I use it when I'm stressed out, or getting colds one after the other. I only take a multi-vitamin, and extra vitamin E (for PMS reasons) daily.
Nascar - I add Protein powder (Aria vanilla is a good one) to my smoothie or eat an egg for b-fast. I also found that eating the Lite cheese wedges (Laughing Cow?) fulfilled the rest of my protein % when Fitday said I didn't have enough.
Gottabe - Take it off Tuesday! - there ARE some striptease aerobics making the news nowadays! Ha, ha.
Well, back to work.

Two posts in one day:eek: Not my usual, huh? Just looking over the boards again and realized I failed to welcome our newcomers. Definitely a :nono:since we have another TEXAN with us. BTW Country, where in TX are you located? I'm in Mt. Vernon/Mt. Pleasant in NE TX (work in one, live in the other)Also belated birthday wishes for YELLOWROSE and BETH.:hb:Sorry Beth that you didn't have a good bd. I would definitely make DH make up for that one.
LDBLOND: So sorry to hear that your little boy is sick again. I hope the dr. can figure out what the problem is. James had to go home hesterday. All the gunk in his head ended up in his stomach and it didn't set well. Dennis picked him up and took him by Burger King . He felt fine after that:s:He's fine today, but loopy on medicine. :dizzy:
Sorry I can't respond to all. Hope everyone has a great day.

Oh I'm finally here. My WONDERFUL GK are here and my precious DIL. I'm enjoying them so much. Right now they're over at there Aunt's house so I'll take advantage of the time alone and check in here.... Well they all wanted biscuits and gravy for dinner last night. So I made the Killer Bean Soup for me. It worked out great... Maybe this spring I'll make a big batch of the soup up and can it. Yep I'm a hillbilly!!!
Can't believe I'm still on this SB. I'm getting more positive each day that goes by and I'm hanging in there. I'm finally over the wild craving for sweets. And the house is loaded with Easter candy and sweets.
Sorry I can't post to all but need to go start dinner they'll be back starved......
Have a good evening Zippy Banana Buns....

Evening everyone!
Happy birthday to Yellowrose and Beth. I'm with everyone else Beth, I think you should pick another day and do it over right.
Things are going just fine and the scale is moving SLOWLY back in the right direction. I am so glad.
SolShine: The author you are referring to is Sue Grafton. I have read every one of her books. They are so good. The other author you mentioned. Is her writing similar to Sue Grafton's?
Zanne: I'm going to check out the chickpea salad that you put on the recipe board. I have been looking for some new recipes.
Someone else mentioned the cauliflower with mayo and olives. That also sounds interesting. Please post it also.
Well, hope everyone has a great WIW tomorrow.

Hi,
Finally, a pretty day in Dallas. I had chores to run do but I still enjoyed the sunshine. I needed to get some supplies
at the grocery store. I am suppose to be on a liquid and jello- type diet tomorrow to get ready for my colonoscopy
on Thursday. It took awhile to read about unsweetened apple juice, find sugarfree lemon jello, etc. I wonder if I
should take some juice to have after the procedure on Thursday. I don’t want to wake up to sugar.
Deb: I did weigh out the portion (once you mentioned it) and it weighed 4 ounces. I had divided the cake into 6
pieces. Next time I would try 8 since it is so rich. I have the book A Taste of Lebanon checked out from the
library. I am going to copy some of the recipes. Besides the humus, do you have a favorite?
CountryMom: I so agree about cauliflower being such a help. I use it as a substitute for chips when I have lunch.
I copied down you recipe for the cauliflower salad. Do you add any spices?
Beth: So sorry about the birthday. The weather was so nasty that I just sort of pretended the day didn’t happened.
If the day didn’t happen, then I am not older, right?. Have you seen Groundhog Day? Bill Murry keeps having the
same day over and over until he gets it right. Maybe we need one of those. Actually, I will continue to have some
birthday lunches and dinners with friends for at least another week.
Everyone, thank you again for the birthday wishes...you made me feel very special.

Just having a rough one here. Not the WOE (that's always faithful)....just the step child...I'd say from ****, but that's not nice :) But I always wonder....how can such a wonderful, loving man have such a horrid child (well, 19 is not truly a "child")!! Shhh....I know. Frustrated and angry and frantic to find solutions. I wish the heck these two boys would grow up and move on!! I think my husband and I are looking for a little peace and quiet. Guess the honeymoon is over, eh??
Thanks Deb for the advice on ICE....truly enjoying having something else I can swallow besides water! But I will keep an eye on the scales!
Going to try one of the recipes on the site tonight as there is a party at work tomorrow and I get to bring the desert! Here's my opportunity to wow them with NO SUGAR!! ha
Well.....back to life here.....I'd truly like to slam dunk a 19 year old....bunch someone's lights out...or better yet.......hee hee.

There's been a lot of great stuff to read today. I hope one day to sort out who's who and what's going on. Forgive me if it takes a bit.
BETH: I think a birthday do over is cool...
ZANNE: How is your neck this evening? Hope it's better than this morning.
LYN: The only thing I add to the cauliflower in the way of seasoning is salt..but not too much because of the salty olives. One thing for sure..don't over cook the cauliflower....bluck...I did that two nights ago. Still ate it all *smile* Another yummy, though high calorie way to enjoy the cauliflower is add your backed potatoes toppings to it and serve as a side dish with your steak or other food you would normally eat a backed potatoe with.
MUSIC TECH: I'm in SE Texas. Coldspring right by Lake Livingston.
Hope you are all having a super evening.

Hi Guys!
Been such a hectic week this week and last. Have not been able to keep up with the posts. Went down to South Florida this past weekend to check on uncle in hospital (had open heart surgery). He seems to have recovered from stroke but now has a nasty infection - 3 different organisms. Any of you nurses out ther up on organisms and infections? Anyway, he'll be a long time until he's back on his feet.
So, needless to say, my eating has been bad bad bad. I seem to find any excuse not to stay on program. Some day I'll get my act together.
I wanted to say welcome to all the newbies and Happy Birthday to everyone I missed. There was too many posts for me to read and catch up, so I have to start from scratch. I did however figure out my name.................CRUSTY DIAPERBRAIN!!!!! I tried to use my maiden name and that was even worse.
I'm going to try and stop by chat.
Take care all.

Hey ladies
Just a quick check in! There are sooo many posts and I don't have time to read them!! I want to make it to chat! So, Hello to all of you!!! Sorry I'm not posting to everyone - but I need to get to bed before tomorrow morning!! HAHA!
VES: Great pics! I loved seeing everyone and putting faces with the names - thanks!
COUNTRY: You are such a beautiful lady! Your pics were wonderful - what a difference from the 235 huh? I can't imagine that you need to get to 135 - wasn't that your goal? Your face looks so slim - are you tall or short? Cause if you are tall you do not need to get to 135 girl!! You'll be too skinny!!
Ok - I'm running - hopefully I'll have time to check back in tomorrow. If I don't I won't be back on the board until Sunday night. We are going to our camp at the beach to do some fishing and relaxing! Can't wait - then I'm off all next week! THANK GOD! So, I'll be able to spend more time responding to everyone!!

Evening All:wave:
Had a busy day today. Got in my walk/jog this morning. Did 4.5 miles in 46:43, another day of decent time, but boy, it was hot and I really didn't think I was going to make it. Sporting a nice new blister to boot.
Went for my GLAMOUR SHOTS today. It was fun. I forgot to bring a white shirt that I wanted to wear so had to borrow one of theres which wasn't the greatest, but that shot ended up being the one I like the most. Should have them back in 2 weeks and if I can find someone with a scanner will try to share them with you:)
Spoke to MEL last night. She made it to Florida safe and sound. I am picking her up tomorrow morning at 11am and we are going to hit Atlantic Hosiery, a great and cheap place for bras and other undergarments and then go to lunch at OLE OLE which is right next door, then for CARBOLITE since she's never had it and then going to pick up her DS and all go to SAWGRASS MILLS MALL for a while. Looking forward to meeting her! Have to leave around 5ish to get back home in time to go to dinner at my Sisters for Passover, so it's going to be a very full day.
Thursday is going to be very busy for me. I have packing, laundry and the play MAMA MIA, as well as having to p/u my Mother and all her stuff-I don't know how the heck I'm going to be able to get everything done. I pray the kids are going to get themselves together themselves, I surely don't have the time to help! We're suppose to leave early Friday morning, around 6am-I wonder if we really will.
Will do my best to reply to all, but if I don't get to everyone please know it's nothing personal;) I'm skimming through all the posts and trying to reply to those who directed a message for me. As usual, I know you all understand, as I really should be doing some ironing!!!
BOB aka LOOPY DIAPER TUSH, thanks for those directions, I may just use them, though still not sure what way we are taking up or back. My Mom said they sold WOC, but still open-will definitely stop at BELKS and pay hommage there for you:D
CATLOVER, WELCOME BACK Glad to see you are still with us:D
MONET, please e-mail me your phone number and if we decide to come home via Atlanta I will DEFINITELY give you a call as far in advance as I possibly can.
DARAMUS, at the top of the page is the word CHAT and you just click on that and it will take you into the chat room. Be prepared to have your fingers ready to go if you join us!!!
COUNTRY, loved the pictures you posted-WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! CONGRATS!!! Thanks for the explanation on the yearling, I sorta was thinking it was a deer!! LOL!! You and BUSDEB have horses in common!!
BETH, sorry to hear your bday sucked! My 40th was uneventful, thought it would be better, though I can't say it sucked since I did get dinner out of the deal. Oh well, paybacks are a *****, aren't they???:s:
QUILTER, you are right, I would say that FILLISE isn't eating enough-she's eating what I eat. And speaking of eating enough-are you???
NASCAR, glad to see you back on the board! Thanks for the info on the Harry's in Peachtree, my Mother was mortified to hear it was closed. Wonder just how many stores they have:?:
QUIV, CONGRATS on the 2 loss!!!
TRISH, so is DS calling you by your new name?? LOL!! Congrats to his teacher, sounds like he's got a good one!!!
SOL, next time I call, I'll have to ask for ZIPPY #1-will you know who to put on the phone?? LOL!!!
ROSE, I try to do the cake in 8 pieces, though it really doesn't matter with me anyhow, I tend to go hog wild. The kids have asked me to make the cheesecake since I went to Orlando so I doubled the recipe and made it to take tomorrow to my Sisters. Needless to say, I can already tell you I'll be eating more than 4 ounces. I pray someone stops me before I eat too much. Hmm, fav. recipes in Taste of Lebanon, love so many of them. I do like the bean salad and the Okra dish with tomato sauce I love, but I use butter beans instead of okra. The chicken and rice, the grilled kafta-they're all good. My book has fallen apart!!!
JUDY, let us know what you end up making and how you like it!!!
HAPPY, love your new name!!
To everyone I didn't address personally, HI, HOW ARE YOU, HOPE ALL IS WELL, ETC. ETC.
Okay, tomorrow is to some the dreaded WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY and for others it will be a great day. Either way, I wish you all good luck with the metal monster tomorrow. I'm thinking if nothing changes in the night I'll have a good WIW tomorrow. I've been really watching my eating and if I'd just be able to get in some veggies, I'd be doing fabulous!!!
Gotta get ready for chat. If anyone has trouble getting into the chat room just e-mail me as I do have a special link as I myself have trouble trying to get on through the regular chat link.
Will try to post tomorrow morning, but my not have time other than the exercise board, otherwise tomorrow night I'll try to get in a short post.

SLAP HAPPY Hope you uncle get along o.k. with everything. I went to a lady that does Reiki treatments Not sure if you all know what that is but it is kind of like touch healing. She told me my liver was toxic and I need to be on a cleansing diet to get rid of the crap in my liver and get my system working the way it is supposed to be working. Hopefully then I will have my body in shape to finally be able to have children. It has been a long four years of trying to have one and hopefully I can stick with this detox and make it work. SO I PLEASE NEED ALL THE HELP I can get to get me through this. That is why I ask all of you to help give me a little boost.Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated. OK--storms are gone and I may be able to stay online a little while tonight. I would go over to the chat--but it goes too fast for me--I can't keep up!
Gottabeme--Hang in there, really once you get through the detox--you begin to feel so much better that you don't want to go back to your old habits. Just make sure you are eating enough (OK Deb and Kim--I'll get to y'all in a minute). Treat yourself to good cuts of meat and fresh vegetables and fruits. That's one of the things that really hooked me in the beginning, I was eating really well. Then I began to notice that I had more energy, no more heartburn, and the weight began to come off! You'll feel better too!
Deb and Kim--yes, I too have been waiting for the dungeon mistress to tell me that I'm not eating enough. But believe it or not I'm having a hard time getting over 1400 calories! There will definatly be one or two days a week I will go over that significantly--but I am trying to get comfortable with smaller portions of foods. You both will be happy to hear that I got to 1502 cal today. 24% fat, 42% carbs, 34% protein) Deb what do you suggest I aim for at this weight?
Deb--Pay hommage to Belks in my name too! I'd love to be able to hit a Belks this week to find an Easter dress. I'm going to Montgomery tomorrow, so I'll hit the stores down there. I vote for scale detox!
Judy--try one of the cheesecake recipes. I've had the best results with those.
OK--I'm off to play some games and have another cup of green tea before bed. See y'all tomorrow--I hope it is good for everyone!

Good Morning!:D
Happy WIW to everyone! I am happy to report that I weigh 6 pounds less than last Wednesday! I don't know how I managed 6 pounds - it wasn't TOM or anything like that - I guess the fact that I didn't make a :ink: out of myself over the weekend and I exercised actually made a difference! Now, lets see if I can make it through another weekend!
I'll try to check in tonight or tomorrow morning if I have time. I've got to get packed up for our trip to the camp. I've got shopping and clothes to do! Yiipppeeee!
So, if for some reason I don't make it back before I leave tomorrow afternoon - y'all have a wonderful, SUGAR FREE, Easter! And - I'll see ya on Sunday!!

Morning all. First things first.
181/181/135. My first weigh in since rededicating my life to this WOE. I have set a mini-goal of 160 by May 19th. Keep your fingers crossed that I make it.
The weather here has been nice. It feels like spring is in the air. I worked in the yard this weekend pulling weeds and deadheading my mexican heather which took a beating from the last frost we had.
Gator - good going on the golf. Bogey golf is good. It gets even more fun when you start playing Par 4's and Par 5's. Im playing on a course today that just eats my lunch for some reason. Not a particularly hard course, just a couple of water hazards.
Deb - leave the scale at home. One bad day and youll be bummed for the rest of the trip.
Everyone else have a good weigh in Wednesday.

Good Wednesday Morning:wave:
Just a few minutes to get in a reply.
Got in a 3.5 mile jog/walk this morning. Wish I could get in the extra mile but I really needed to get home and start getting ready for my day with MEL!
Made my CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE last night to take to my sisters, doing a double batch. It did crack, but no where as bad as when I took it to the SB GET TOGETHER earlier this month. My Mom says hers always cracks, so I don't feel too inadequate! Anyhow, I am definitely gearing up to have a nice piece tonight but hope that there's enough of us there (11 people) that I won't be able to pig out on an additional piece and once it's gone, it's gone.
Thanks to all of you who came out to the chat last night, esp. our NEWBIES who had their first chat experience. As usual, it's always nice to chat in "real time".
Well, today is WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY!!!! I can't complain, as last week I was up 4.5lbs and this week I'm down 4.5lbs, 2 weeks ago I was the same as today-120lbs. When I look back at the last 4 weeks I've been 119.50-124.5-definitely staying within my cushion.
GOTTA, is there any other reasons you are having trouble conceiving? Girl, keep the faith-I went through a lot to have my kids!!! Okay, I think I asked you last night, but don't remember if you answered, how far from Montreal is Ottawa??
FILLISE, I rarely find it tough to get in 1400 calories, only once in a while if I'm really on the run during the day. If you were to ask me what I thought you should be getting based on your current weight I would say 2200 calories a day. To stay your current weight you'd have to take in about 2850 calories, you are taking in half that. 2200 would be 650 less. This is taking in to consideration that you're moderately active. You need less if you are more sedentary. It really isn't hard to find things to fill in the void and you may find in doing so that you'll lose faster. That's what I learned long ago. Didn't believe eating more would help me lose weight faster, but it did:) Just my 2 cents!
SEMMENS, thanks for the input on the scale. Just thinking, if I dare move the scale from it's home base, it just may weigh me 10lbs more-so you and others have convinced me to leave it behind.
FRUIT, WTG!! CONGRATS!!! I KNEW YOU COULD DO IT!!! 6lbs is awesome!!! This should be great motivation to stick to plan and see what next week could hold!
CAT, you can do anything you set your mind to do and you know that we're behind you 100%. Yes, I will leave the scale at home-don't need the aggravation of seeing it possibly go up!
Gals, gotta run, otherwise I'm going to be late!!!

Well....contrary to my prophetic statement from yesterday, my scale did well by me and I weighed in at 164 this morning!!!!! I am so utterly thrilled because this is now my all time low..well..since I first got overweight that is! You know what I mean :) Perhaps my scale had mercy on me, one will never know. Perhaps that is what I get for giving emotions to an inanimate object...but we must have fun with it or it drives us mental...it does me, anyway.
ZANNE- It arrived, the snow that is. It came last night while we were sleeping. It came and left. It turned into freezing rain so we had ice pellets hitting the windows early this morning. The schools were closed so all the kidlettes are home for the day. I am presuming that this rain will take us back down to no snow on the ground and I like that! 'Cept of course that takes us to lots of mud for the kids to get dirty in. We are going to colour the eggs and get ready for our hunt on Friday after our Good Friday Service so that should keep them relatively clean today.
TRISHALOO-Thanks for your thoughts on my poor hubby. He is not a happy camper and was nauseated again yesterday afternoon. Got word from the doctor that they didn't see anymore stones in the xrays so hopefully they are in the bladder but he hasn't peed them out yet. Perhaps he has a touch of the flu or something that is making him nauseous...guess we just have to wait it out. I am keeping myself on track and he is not a bad convalesing male so I can't complain :)
Today I am going to bake 5 cakes for the Good Friday Service. We are providing a lunch afterwards so I would prefer to bake cakes to making sandwiches. I figure I better get them started today and have them done so I can get all the other things prepared as well...our church is hosting this and the whole community has been invited. Off to the kitchen.....

158 this morning. This whole yo-yo effect is starting to frustrate me. I exercise, I am carefull what I eat, and still - stuck between 158 and 160. I am not noticing any significant clothes change either. Well, as long as I can fit in my jeans....
DEB - Blister? Yuck! Sorry to hear that. I had to take 1 week off from walking, because I hurt my knee. Instead of that, I've been weight lifting with a friend. SCALES - leave the thing at home. You know it - even though the mountains would proably make it look like you are lighter - the gravitational pull slacks off! (weight - force with which the earth's gravity pulls on you).
The eating at 1600 does NOT work for me. If I eat within my calories, I gain .5 lb per day. Go figure. Perhaps it was starchy carbs - I guess I can't have ANY AT ALL!
BETH - Sorry about your sucky B-day. Definitely do a repeat in a B-day sensitive environment. AND HAVE FUN for YOUR sake!
GRACIOUS - Good job on your low! Keep it up. What a boost. OH - my friend had kidney stones once upon the time. They said beer helped to wash them out. Do you know anything about that? She actually did pass them later.
CATLOVER - MExican heather has to be deadheaded? I have a bunch and it's blooming like crazy. Would it do better if I trimmed it back?
FRUIT - WOW! I don't know how you do it, but keep it up! So good to read about people who have great success on this WOE. GIves the rest of us some hope.
GOTTABEME - where I come from there is a lot of alternative medicine, and some of my family members are deeply into Reiky and bioenergy. Slovenia is actually increadibly active as a whole country on this subject. I am glad to see people around here are starting to appreciate it better.
SLAPHAPPY - My best wishes are with you and your family.
YELLOWROSE - happy belated B-day. I hope yours was good!
EVERYONE ELSE: Welcome to all the NEWBIES - You got yourself a fine place of support!
To all I've missed - FARE WELL!

This will be quick as I need to hit the road in just a minute. I just wanted to let everyone know that I hope WIW is good to you!
Fruit--AWESOME! I hope you are feeling great today because that is a great loss!
Gracious--congratulations on your new low! It feels great to be breaking new ground!!!!!
OK gotta hit the road. I've eaten breakfast, have dinner planned, but just found out I'm going to a Luncheon in Montgomery. Have no idea what that will involve, I'm hoping a buffet or ordering off a menu instead of a pre-selected dinner.
Deb--I hear you--will work on it!
OH yes--the scale is holding steady this morning.

Well, down 2 today. Was looking for more. Had the Dr visit this morning. He was very pleased with the loss of 56#. Liver was ok this time.
Deb, have a great time with Mel today. Have a great trip to NC too. Leave the scale. I really enjoyed the chat room last nite. That was a first for me. When I told my DD what I had been doing she thought I was nuts for entering a chat room, and when I told her it was SB char, she just shook her head. She tkinks I'm obsessed with SB. Whatever works!!
Fruite, WTG on the 6# loss. It really helps to keep you motivated when you get a big one once in awhile doesn't it. Keep up the good work.
Gotta, Wake UpWednesday? I guess it beats the alternative. LOL
Hope your cleansing goes ok and it helps you get your body straightened out. Don't know much aboutn alternative medicines though.
Gracious, WTG on reaching an all time low. Hate to hear your DH is not better yet. Will keep him in my prayers.
Guess I better get to work. Was 60 minutes late anyway due to Dr visit. Hope the scale is good to everyone today!
BTW, does anyone know of any foods that act as a diuretic? My dr didn't want to give me one, but the NP thought I needed one, so she suggested parsely. I didn't think anyone ate that, it was only for decoration. Appreciate any help.
Have a good day!

Finally good news to report on WIW. I'm down 2 pounds since Monday!:D I think I've finally gotten back into the right mindset to follow this WOE. I don't know why I got off track to begin with, but here we go again.
GRACIOUS: WTG! The evil scale has succumbed.:smug: Hope hubby is feeling better today.
GOTTA: I can identify with having trouble conceiving. DH and I tried 6 yrs before we had our first. Wenever did find out what the problem was, but now we have three beautiful kids. So...like Debbie said, keep the faith.
CATLOVER: Welcome back.
FRUIT: CONGRATS! WOW, 6 pounds. That's great.
HAPPY: Good thoughts for your uncle.
ROSE: Good luck on the colonoscopy. I had one a couple of years ago. The procedure itself isn't too bad. It's the prep for it. Hope you get a good report.
Time to teach a class. Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning everyone!
Congratulations everyone on their losses.
Fruit: Great 6 lb loss. Keep it up. That's awsome.
Jack-k: I drink parsley tea. You can get it at the health food store. It does help. Also drinking a lot of water.
Debbie: Have fun on your trip.
Well, WIW is not good but not bad either. I am still at 274.5. Not back to by low of 271.5 but going in that direction anyway.
Have lots to do today. Everyone have a great day.

I am sad! WIW finds me at 202 - that's up 7.5 lbs. from 2 weeks ago and up 2.5 from last week. WTF, over??!?!? My body demands perfection or it won't give one ounce away. I'm going back to logging everything in fitday and I'm gonna check out the other links you lovely ladies have posted. I'm walking 2 - 8 miles 3-4 days/week and doing weight training the other 2 or 3 - taking 1 or 2 days off during the week depending on my schedule. You BFL-ers how do you know your stats when you say you've lost X lbs. fat and gained X lbs. muscle? Just wondering if I could figure that out - or if it would be of any help. The tape measure isn't moving either.
Today I wore a dress that's tighter than is comfortable - it didn't seem that tight when I put it on. To top it off - it's shorter than I'm comfortable with and I had to take my slip off cause I was putting on a show in the hallways.
I hope everyone else is having a better day.
BETH - How'd the job interview go? When will they give you the good news?
SHEANN - Janet Evanovich is so similar to Sue Grafton with her style that I have to wonder if one of them was inspired by the other. The only difference is that Janet's main character is a Joisey girl with a little more sassy attitude than Sue's. She also has a tad bit more comedy in her writing. I love them both!
SLAPHAPPY - I like your 'chosen' name better than CRUSTY DIAPERBRAIN! Sorry to hear about your uncle. We certainly have enough nurses on here for you to get any information you might need.
GOTTABEME - You're no pervert? DARN!! I just don't know if you'll be able to fit in here, then…..and I was really starting to like you, too…………… :D Just kidding! I don't think any of us thought you were a perve.
FILLISE - I really miss the long massive thunderstorms in Mississippi. Some of my fondest memories are sitting out on the porch swing with my Daddy watching the storms. They just aren't the same here in FL. You are having Green Tea before bed?!? Must be decaf - please tell me it's decaf!
FRUIT - HOT DIGGITY DOG!!! CONGRATS TO YOU!!! I wouldn't mind if 6 pounds just disappeared from my body. :s:
DEBBIE - Leave the scale at home!! Have fun while you're gone - you'll eat properly and that's all you need to be thinking about. :)
JACK-K - Parsley is a staple in the ME diet. I eat it with my hummus and I LOVE Tabouleh and add extra to it! My mantra at home is "I think I'm turning Lebanese. I think I'm turning Lebanese - I really think so!" Eli doesn't seem to mind. Caffeine is also a diuretic.
CONGRATS YOU LOSERS!!! I say that very sincerely! :D
 Have a great day, Everyone!

Good morning all! I had such a blast last night. The little icons in chat are so cute. It was a pleasure meeting everyone.
Since this is WIW I will post new weight: 153. It feels so good to be back eating and drinking right. Making sure I don't skip on the exercise isn't hurting either. *smile*
Thank you FRUIT for your sweet words. I think alot of the slim face came from the camera angle. I made my daughter take like 10 pictures till I found one I liked...LOL Vanity...*smile*
DEBBIE: so glad you decided to leave the scales at home. To many variables weighing somewhere else. My doctors scale's weight me more than my home scales but these have been with me since the begining so I use them...plus the lower number is nice...LOL
WTW ladies on the weight drops. And those that maintained.
JACK-K my family was the same way when I started SB. They just don't understand. My hubby is awesome though. He has supported me in all aspects of this WOE. He jokes about following it with me but with some modifications..he can have pasta and rice and sugar....*smile* Can't blame him for tryin'.
I found the fitday site you were talking about. So I thought I would give it a try. The first thing I found out is I eat too much fat...no big surprise really. So that is what I will be working on for the next little bit. Putting down your food is hard when you eat a bite here and a bite there...
Have a great day!
Love,
Crystle

Woo hoo! I am happy to be able to join in on WIW with a loss! I am down one to a new all time low of 250! (that is on MY scale..the doctors is about 15 more! :D I think I will use mine!) I am really pleased, since it is P time for me, and I usually gain five pounds! (I don't use the TOM thing..since I am very much in love with my husband Tom, and don't want to associate cramps and bloating with him! :) )
DEB: Leave the scale, this is a vacation you are going on! What is the proper thing to say, um, have a blessed Passover? Such a beautiful reminder of God's provision for His people. I will email you my phone number...
TREE: Thanks for the reminder about not taking Ecinachea long term. I forgot to mention that, since I do not take it. My hubby has a schedule I can never keep up with of weeks on and off it.
GRACIOUS: I am sorry your poor husband is still ill. I sure hope he can get all better soon. Have fun making all those cakes! Just keep your fingers out of the batter! ;)
SOL: If you are exercising that much, and not losing while remaining on program, have you had your thyroid checked? If you are anything above a 3 in TSH, you might benefit from thryoid meds. The trick will be finding a doctor who will treat you. If you are gaining inexplicably, do get it checked. Check out the thyroid pages at about.com if you are interested.
FILLISE: I am interested in your caloric intake thing. If you increase how much you eat, and lose, I am going to have to think about trying that. Of course, I have thyroid problems, so my metabolism is pretty screwed up, but I eat about 1300 to 1500 calories a day. I am wondering if I would do better if I ate more? that is a scary thing to consider however. I do exercise about 3-4x a week, minimum. Decisions, decisions. How is your kitty? Found out my son is getting two more cats...Siamese, from his boss who can't keep them anymore. One plays fetch! I had a Siamese growing up that played fetch. I wonder how his crackhead kitten is going to like the two new ones....when he was here on Christmas day, he wanted to play with my old yellow tabby, who wanted NOTHING to do with him. Fur may fly!

WOW! nearly noon and I'm just getting on. Can't believe it's only Wednesday and already on page 6!
Got about 4 inches of snow. Today it's all melting away. Just came in from making a snowman and having a snowball fight with DS. :D But it's really wet, sloppy snow, especially where the sun has been shining on it.
Didn't like WIW:( I'm up to 166! I guess all the overindulgences of a few days ago caught up to me. So I'm gonna have to try a lot harder to keep with the plan. I usually eat about 80-90% OP and have allowed myself one :nono: almost every day. Yesterday it was perogies. (I'm gonna have to try making some with SGWW flour).
I'm going to try to journal. That usually helps a lot.
NOTE on the Chickpea salad recipe--I made half the recipe with the beans leftover from making half a hummus recipe. Both recipes turned out great even tho they were halved.
GOTTABEME How'd you do with the storm? I'm like you--trying to get in shape to conceive. We've been trying for 12 years! (we adopted our son 3 years ago). Sometimes easier said than done, but just take one day at a time. I know sometimes it's very frustrating but we have to remember that we're trying to get ourselves as healthy as possible.
FRUIT WTG!!! 6lbs lost! I think I found a couple of them:lol:
CONGRATS to all the losers this week! There seems to be quite a few.
DEB & MEL Have a great day together!
DEB Have a great trip. Leave the scale at home!
GRACIOUS That's wonderful you hit a new low! Sorry to hear DH still isn't feeling well. I hope the stones pass soon. We had a Scotch mist in the middle of the snow yesterday. I think I'd rather have snow than freezing rain. We'll be coloring eggs on Friday to give us something to do.
CAT You're starting where I first started and we're close in our end goals. How tall are you? I would love to get to about 160 by the end of May (anniversary is the 27th). Maybe we can help each other stay on track.
 Big HI to everyone. I just can't keep up with answering everyone.

Hey JACK
As far as diuretics go - I'll look into some alternative home stuff.
As far as parsley goes -
Make yourself a tabouli salad. The spelling is different everywhere, but the idea is that you use the following recipe:
1 bunch parsley
1.3 cup green onions
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tomato
1 cup bulgur wheat (there's a recipe on the back of the package)
green peppers to taste
garlic (if you'd like to add some)
Juice of 1 lemon ( I think, but you can add more)
The parsley salad is very refreshing and you won't be sorry you made it. DEB is the reigning expert on Middle eastern cuisine, so I'm sure she knows sth better. You can always check the internet for parsley dishes. You'd be surprised.
Good luck

Hi, everyone.
Well, the scale is still sitting where it was last week, 250. I've been eating alright, but I know I haven't been drinking enough water. Trying to get back on that right away. Who was it that was looking for the natural diuretic? I think I remember reading somewhere that lemon juice added to your water is also a diuretic.
Ok, all you SB guru's I need some help. I am going in for another surgery on my shoulder on Friday morning. I have awful reactions to anesthesia, nausea and vomiting (sorry to be so graphic at lunchtime) about 24-48 hours after surgery. I guess it's the anesthesia trying to work it's way out of my system. I need some suggestions for things to eat or drink for the first few days that are OP that won't upset my tummy. In the past it was always Coke or ginger ale, jello, then followed by potato soup or mashed potatoes. I haven't had a white potato in 3 months, so I'm afraid to think what that might do to me. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Congrats to all the losers.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter or Passover, whichever your beliefs.

Pooch - is Macinaw island in Virginia? I loved "Somewhere in Time" so much! The scenery was so beautiful, I figured it was a set! And it's still preserved? Makes me want to take a little trip. Even though "SIT" is a chick flick, my DH liked it. Although, he doesn't watch it over and over again like I do. :D
Another old romance movie - "The Two Lives of Jenny Logan" (I think) with Lindsay Wagner? It's about a lady who travels through time when she puts on an old dress, and has to decide which man to stay with (the one in the future, or the one in the past).
DSis and family are coming for Easter! I am so excited! Last time I saw DN, she was just getting the oomph to crawl, and now she's walking! We're going to do a little Easter hunt with her (plastic eggs w/ cheerios). My DH friend at work made Easter eggs into Easter egg piggies (pink w/ tails, and snouts). :ink: Her parents own a pig farm. She gave them to another friend w/ little ones. I thought that was so sweet!
I can't have peanut butter anymore! Last year, I had a reaction to almonds, and then got tested for nut allergies. Basically, I'm allergic to them (pb, cashews, almonds, pistachios...) to varying degrees. But, I just couldn't give up PB! Then, I had a reaction to a PB shake, and that did it. I took a Benadryl, pulled out the Epipen, and told my DH to get ready if I needed it, and couldn't do it myself. That was scary. I've had one episode after getting allergy shots that I don't ever want to repeat. So all my PB recipes have been crossed off. :(

Just a quickie, I so want to catch up, but my subs want to be paid. Maybe I can get on after the kids go to bed tonight. Michael has an ear infection. At least it's an identifiable problem and won't cause him to be any sicker than he has already been. Hopefully the ear drops will help breakdown the stuff inside his ears and the tubes will finally come out (it's been 15 months). I don't quite understand, but who am I to question the one-eyed monster, I weigh 164.5 today. After a day of bad eating yesterday, I sure was expecting the worst! My bestfriend made it known to me last night that he noticed I had gained in my abdomen and that after his wife has her baby, he's going to "get my bu** back in shape" Although done poorly, it was his way of saying that he's worried about me. I must get back to work. Hope your weeks aren't too rocky and you are eating well.

just a quickie. congrats to all you losers today. Keep up the good work. those that maintained you have nothing to feel bad about. you gainers, well theres always next week.
Vesnoid - I had to cut my mexican heather back as the last frost that blew in killed it. luckily there was new growth at the bottom. in a couple of months it will look like good as new.
Zanne - Im about 5' 5 1/2" . It would be good to have a buddy help me stay motivated. I get so discouraged sometimes. Its like I take 1 step forward and 3 steps back.
Gator - went out to play golf today, and it was like I had never picked up a club. Both holes were Par 36 and I ended up with a
58 on front 9 and 59 on back 9. Dont know what happened.
Well guess I better sign of for now. Have to get ready to do my weight routine. gotta build those muscles to lose the fat.

Just got back from the gym and on the way home I bought my first scale. I think Deb inspired me with all that scale talk!
It's hard to see my precise weight, but I'm easily 158 or 158.5 which means I've lost a bit more since monday with a total loss of 2.5-3lbs the first week!
I'm so impressed with all you guys. It really feels great to be connecting with other people who are in the same boat I am.
Enough sap. Does anyone know what a good number of protein and carbs are for each day? Like fat should be roughly between 30-45 grams a day. I want to make sure I'm getting enough of everything.
Thanks and Good Luck!!! :p

Good Evening All:wave:
This is going to be quick, just so much to do still and no time to do it in!!!
Had a very nice, but all too short, day with MEL. She's such a doll and I really enjoyed every minute we spent together today.
I picked her up at 11am and we hit Atlantic Hosiery where they have the cheapest undergarments around. She found some things, I didn't buy anything, though I did try on a bra and can now say I am a "C" cup.
Right afterwards was lunch at OLE OLE. We both had the COBB SALAD along with their wonderful salsa. MEL was so sweet and treated me for lunch:angel:
After lunch, we went to the HFS where she bought a few goodies and then headed over to CARBOLITE where the owner had MINT under my request:D It was delicious and I do believe MEL like it too!
Afterwards we headed back to pick up her DS Andres who is so cute, has such a peaches and milk complexion. We headed over to SAWGRASS MILLS MALL in two cars so they could stay since I had to leave early. MEL found some great looking SAUCONY sneakers. I may go back at a later date and buy some, they were very comfy. We stayed together for a bit before parting so her and Andrew could go to GAMEWORKS (video place like Dave and Busters).
Too short of a time, but I am thrilled to have finally met MEL. Let me tell you, that woman is FIT! You should see her calve muscles-like a rock! She looks wonderful in cap sleeves and shorts-makes me jealous I can't wear stuff like that! She's doing very well on BFL and it shows. If you ever have the opportunity to meet MEL in PA or anywhere else she may travel to, please do, you'll love her!!!!!:D
Oh, I can't forget, she was so sweet to bring me stuff from TRADER JOES!!! I requested a few things and she brought one thing I hadn't requested that must be new- a HUGE 70% CHOCOLATE BAR!!!! It's TJ'S BRAND from BELGIUM and is a little over a pound-YUM!!!!!!!!!
Oh yes, and we took pics!!!!
MEL, when you get home and read this-THANK YOU SO MUCH ONCE AGAIN!!!! :D
MONET, got your numbers, will call if I find we will be going through Atlanta. THANKS!
ANYONE ELSE NEAR ATLANTA????????
Gals, I have NO time to even read the board, have to go start some laundry. If I can I will try to do so tomorrow.

hi everyone,
have not posted in a while and barely made it to chat this week. have had a rather busy and stressful week, so was not surprised with no loss.
my friend and i have been trading babysitting for spring break, i took the kids to see ET, i liked it evenbetter the second time with my daughter. i bought a bag of reeses pieces for them to share and some nuts and sf russell stover choco pb things for me. they were impressedwith the reeses which i made them wait until ET had them in the movie! unfortunately the combo of nuts and the sf choco stuff made me very ill, no more of that for me!
my son is having a bad week, one of his "friend-girls" was killed in a head on collision monday nite on one of the worst roads in the area 192, a very dangerous 2-lane highway that connects orlando and the melbourne area where we live, very sad. then this week he got hurt in football practice, he was the starting right tackle at the University of Central Florida he tore his ACL
in his left knee and will have surgery monday morning. i will be over there of course monday and tuesday. i may call you sonya as the surgery center is on aloma somewhere. no matter how old they are you still worry about your kids.
i have a doctors appt in the am, girl stuff and i am holding about a gallon of water or at least it feels like it. my sugar is good but i am soooo tired.
will probably just lurk again this week, hope everyone has a good week, hi to all the new gals!

Hi everyone!
Trying to get caught up. Miss a day here, miss alot!!! Uneventful week - weight stayed the same.
Gottabeme: Good luck with your fertility journey. Low carb eating really is a big first step. The other thing is Glucophage. Do you have high blood sugar?
Jack- I think that vitamin B6 is a natural diuretic. Also water with lemon. Good luck!
Music:Congrats on your loss! Why is that 2 lbs coming off is so much more exciting than 2 lbs going on!
Sol: Don't "fret" over your loss of weight loss - you are determined girl and you will drop those lbs all of a sudden! Did you have a wicked storm last night? We had thunder, lighting, hail and terrential rain! We needed that rain desperately. Crusty Diaperbrain is not the most attractive name in the world is it, but it's better than girdle sniffer! Also I wanted to ask you have you read the book - What your doctor may not tell you about pre-menopause by Dr. Lee? You might find it helpful - talks alot about hormones and things.
Trish: For a couple of days following surgery, don't worry about your food intake. Your body has been through stress and as long as you don't go crazy you'll be ok - eat sensibly but if you need some saltine crackers, have them. If you need soda to settle your stomach, have regular not diet. Also, drink lots of water post op and you'll flush out that anesthesia quicker. Ask doc to give you something for nausea.
Toni: Congratulations on your loss!!! Keep up the good work and you'll hit that goal in no time. Thank you for your well wishes.
Tree: I love movies like that - Somewhere in Time is one of my favorites!
BKM: Chris, I am so sorry for all you are going thru! I hope your son does well in surgery and will be back to normal quickly. What kind of recovery time is it? I am sorry about his friend's death. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
Vesna: I have to ask you, since you are not losing and I did meet you - maybe your body is at an ideal weight for you. I thought you looked nice and thin! Maybe you should consider yourself on maintenance. I know thats not what you want to hear. But you are already thin!!!!! ::): Thank you for your well wishes!
Deb: have a great trip and leave the scale at home!
To anyone I missed, I apologize. Have a great week!

Hey chics!
I just couldn't stay away! I took a break from my packing to check in!
Thanks to all of you for the congrats today! I do feel much better than last week! I hope I can keep motivated - that is the key factor!
GOTTA: Trust me - you are not alone with the fertility factor on this board! I too am trying to lose so that my fertility specialist will do hormone treatments on me. He doesn't want to "work with me" until I lose a substantial amount of weight. I am getting ready to start the adoption classes in April so that I'll be certified to adopt. Can you believe that people like us have to be certified to adopt but they let crack head losers have custody of their children - IMAGINE THAT?!? It just pisses me off! We are starting this process but we always have the hope of having one of our own - I have had 5 miscarriages over the last 5 years and it has been a roller coaster ride from ****. But, each one has made me stronger and I'm not giving up hope! There are times when I just feel like the world hates me and I wonder what I have done to have to endure such pain - then - I just try to gather my thoughts and lean on my friends and the people that love me and are here for me! So, whenever you are down there are MANY of us here that are going through or have gone through your same ordeals and we are here for you! So - when you start that period and you want to scream - we are here for you so scream away! If ever you want to talk - get my e-mail from DEB or BOB - they both have it - sometimes you just have to vent!!!
QUIVONDRA: Great job on that loss - aren't you glad you bought that scale?!?!
OK - well, I saw that many of you were big LOSERS today - WAY TO GOOOOO!!!! Fired up!!! Let's keep up the good work girls! We'll be fine before we know it!!! Gotta run!
I'll try to check in once before I leave for the camp - I just can't stay away from you gals!! I don't know what I'm gonna do for the weekend!!

Hello everyone!
It is the end of a long day, but my cup of green tea and a visit to the SB board seems like a good way to close it out!
Ok Deb--I got up to 1760 calories today--29% fat/42% carbs/29%protein. Boy did I have to eat to do it. I'm stuffed and miserable--I don't like feeling this way, but we'll see what happens with the scale in the next few days.
Krogers finally got in the oat bran sticks. I didn't realize they were sweet (sweetened with agave), you are right, I think they will make an excellent cheesecake crust!
Bigkmomma--I'm so sorry to hear about your son's torn ACL. The bigger they are the harder they fall, so I suspect the big Kinght will be very glad to have his momma with him on Monday. I'll be thinking about you both!
Toni--Lunch WAS a buffet so I was able to do ok! I just hate these luncheons where you are at the mercy of someone else. I have church dinners like that every week. Most of the time the women who cook will look out for me, but every now and then we hit a week where there is nothing I can eat.
Trish--I had knee surgery last summer and I also have an awful time with anesthesia (I get overcome with waves of nausea for several days afterwards). Right after I woke up I was nauseated and tried to drink water--but was feeling worse. I finally took a sip of sprite and the nausea subsided right away. (This is after I had grilled the nurses about the contents of my IV solution before the surgery). Anyway, I figure with the stress your body goes through with surgery--your blood sugar is bound to do some funny things--so if you need the coke or sprite take just a sip or two. I only did that while in the recovery room--after I got home I would eaither sit real still or lie down until it subsided. You can make a soup out of star pastina (a type of pasta--38 on the GI)and chicken broth. It will stay on your stomach when other things won't.
Monet--we'll see what happens with the calorie intake. I do beleive you have to eat enough--I just thought 1400-1500 would be enough. I'll up it for a few days and see what happens! Belle was destructo-kitty today. She tried to get into my yogurt container and knocked over a lamp and table and got yogurt everywhere--even in an extension cord that then started sizzling. I had to turn of the power before I could unplug it. She has a lot of Siamese in her. He little mates had the siamses coloring, but Belle is all black! I don't even want to think about what it would be like if I brought another cat into this house!
Sol--My green tea is stuff I buy in Chinatown when I visit New York. I suspect it has caffeine, but it doesn't bother me. I usually drink a cup or two and night and sleep like a baby. In fact, I think I'm off to make another cup!;)
Night everyone! There were some great losers today--congrats to everyone!

Hi Everybody!!!
Here's another quick check in. Gosh, I'm feeling guilty. But here's what's going on. DH took off yesterday for st. Louis to play music with his bros. He does this about three times a year. He has a great time, but it's a lot of work to get him ready. That's why I've been absent. So anyways, my parents came over yesterday and will spend the weekend here with me so that I don't have to be all by myself (with Maddie, of course). So we will have a good visit. On Friday DB, DSIL & DNiece are coming over too to spend the night. So I will have a house full for just the one night and most of the day Saturday.
My eating has been really good. Although yesterday we did hit our favorite Indian restaurant for lunch. Confession: I ate the naan. I couldn't help myself, it's so soft and fresh and warm and good. But got back on track for the rest of the day. Also I had bought regular ice cream for a treat for my parents, because that's their normal evening snack. Well, I stuck to having one of my SF ice cream bars and passed on the mint chocolate chip. I was pretty proud of that.
WIW was good for me. It's hard to read my scale, but I'm not at a solid 5 pounds loss since three weeks ago. So at least the needle is moving in the right direction. Congrats to all who lost. Congrats to those who gained for not giving up and keeping on going. You'll get there.
I've made two goals. I'll turn 45 in November and I'd like to lose 25 pounds by then. I think that is reasonable. That's about 3 pounds a month. Then my second long-range goal is to be at my goal by this time next year. Our wedding anniversary is April 13 and it would be great to have that next 25 off by then.
So, I haven't had a minute to post or read the posts. It's driving me crazy because I know things are happening and I'm missing it!!! ARGHHHHHH!!! Hopefully life will settle down in a few days and I'll have time to get back into the swing of things. SOL, did you get your puppy? FILLISE, what are oat sticks??? DEB, has Lauren come down off her cloud yet at being accepted. I got her thank you note. What a sweetie she is!!!
Bye all. Please hang in there with me. I am thinking of you all.
Absent, but not absent in spirit,
Kim

I was naughty last night... I did not eat anything off program, just too much of what was on! I made fried chicken breasts, using ww pastry flour, and then I decided to make biscuits to go with the gravy made with the ww pastry flour, and I have to admit, it was really delicious! Worth every bite! Thank the Lord I don't have to get on the scale for a few days! ;)
BIGKMOMMA: I am so sorry to hear about your son's friend. It is so hard on a kid, no matter what their age, to lose a friend like that. My daughter's best friend was killed in a horrible accident a year and a half ago, and she had a very rough time dealing with it. Then to have the football injury on top of the shock of losing a friend, I am sure it has been hard on him, and when our kids hurt, we hurt. You are in my prayers and thoughts, as well as your son and his surgery. The girls family has a lot to deal with, and it is so painful. Will be thinking of them too.
FILLISE: Maybe two kitties would have been a good idea. Then Miss Belle would have someone to play with, and she would not be destructo-kitty all the time! Oh well, enjoy it. My cat is a big, old yellow tabby. He is very introverted, and rarely wants to be even noticed. He runs from people he does not know, and hides under the sofa when it rains. Such a wimp! When the tornado came through here a couple years ago, he was a basket case..and downstairs in the hallway when we got the kids and came down for safety! Poor thing was shaking like a leaf too!
Guess I will go and post a few recipes now. Later!

Heloo everyone! It is a beautiful day here in Cinci...finally! Not a cloud to be seen for miles. I have no idea how cold it is, but I love the sun.
I have not been posting...I have been really busy.
To all the NEWBIES....HI!!! this really is an awesome place to find advise, encouragemant, and a few laughs.
BKM....Had a nice chat w/ you the other night. I am so sorry to hear that now your son is hurt. That is so rough on a sports player. I hope he is dealing with his friends loss. Like I had said that night, it is so hard to lose someone when you are that young. A family at our church had friends that were killed in a train accident a year ago. They lost their teen son and mom...it really affected everyone in our church, but more so the teens because a lot of times they feel they are untouchable (I know mine does). My prayers will be with him during this time. Keep us posted on his surgery.
CM4Him...It was nice to chat with you the other night! Your pictures are nice! You look great!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment to lose that much. How long has it taken you? How long did it take you to go from a 3 to your heavest? I am glad you are healthy now! ED can really take over your life.
Gracious...Hope your hubby is feeling better. He has a busy few days coming up! I bought the 2 VT Bible Heros. They are good because they are long! We have 2 out of the 6 shows that are on them so it is ok. I plan on taking them to church and putting in our "library" so others can use them. Congrats on the new low!!! That is really great. Keep up the hard work.
I had posted yesterday on the WIW board....I am at my goal....130!!! I am so thankful!!!!!!!! Now my final gaol is 125, but I am not sure if I will be able to reach/keep that a real goal. I am almost 5'7"...not 6'7" (lol) so 125 may not be a realistic goal for me. I weighed about 123 after my 5th child, but that was when I was breast feeding.
Too all those who lost...congrats. To those who did not...hang in there!!!
Have a great day everyone!!!
In Him,
Kimmy:dizzy:

Good morning to all. I made 50 cupcakes yesterday and 2 bundt cakes and didn't lick a spoon once, or my finger! I actually wasn't even tempted, but they did all smell really good just out of the oven. Today I ice them and that will be more tempting to be sure, but I will prevail!
The snow is all gone now thanks to the rain that poured all yesterday. We are due for a nice day tomorrow for Good Friday so that is nice to hear. Last minute preparations are all under way for the service tomorrow..sandwiches, salads and desserts, bulletins, music ....all those details. I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed Good Friday!
I enjoyed seeing the pictures of everybody that were posted. Looks like you had a great time together.
Gotta run and get some things done before the wee baby wakes up!

Good Thursday Morning:wave:
Just wanted to say hello as my day goes on and the hours to leave lessen.
Had a good dinner at my sister's for Passover. I made the cheesecake which was a hit, and the only dessert we had. I ate 1 1/2 pieces and then sliced a piece to bring home, but ended up telling myself I didn't need it and left it for my sister to eat:)
Got up really early and got in my 4.5 miles BEFORE I took Michael to school-no one could believe my butt was out of the house by 6am! Even had a decent time of 44:39-I think it was the fear of having to get home in time to take him so he wouldn't be late that had me moving a bit faster.
Lots of laundry to do, ironing, etc. Have to go to the grocery store and get some vittles and then p/u my Mother and her junk to take with us this afternoon before getting Lauren and rushing home to start to get ready to go see Mama Mia tonight with Eli. Don't think I will get home before 11amish-not sure what the heck I'm going to do about dinner.
Will not be taking the scale, nor will I weigh on any scale that I happen to come across. I will go through BOARD & SCALE WITHDRAWLS and it may be worse than DETOX for me!!!
If I can, I will try to hit the library one day and get on the board to say hello.
Looking forward to seeing FROG next week!!!:D maybe MONET if we decide to go home via Atlanta.
I doubt I will be able to post tonight or anytime before I leave. I hope you all have a good week ahead of you and I'll be thinking about you all while I'm away. I have started the boards for APRIL so ROSALIE has less to contend with. She will start the new WEEKLY EXERCISE BOARD and the new WEEKLY SUPPORT BOARD either late Sunday night or Monday morning-thanks again MARIE!!!
I'm sorry I can't reply to everyone, don't even have time to read the boards-I know you all will forgive me!!!!:^:
Take care everyone-will definitely miss you!! Will be home late Sunday night, April 7th.

Gosh, what a beautiful day in east central Alabama! I'm going to have to ride around and enjoy the flowers some today!
OK--trumpets please: I'm happy to report a new low of 235!!!!! That makes a total of 65 lbs lost on SB! Ten more pounds and I will be halfway to my goal.
Kimmy: WOOOOHOOOO! ON REACHING YOUR GOAL! At 5'7" I think you must be positivley sleek--but it isn't a bad idea to have a little cushion--5 lbs below is probably reasonable.
Gracious--what will power! You are to be congratulated for resisting temptation!
Monet--Destructo-kitty? Not this sweet kitten purring in my lap? Do cats get multiple personality disorder? Perhaps I should have named her Sybil! I keep reminding myself that one day Belle will be older and quieter, and I'm sure then I'll miss her kitten-hearted antics. I bought her some balls with bells in them to play with last night and that seems to be helping her use up that kitten energy!
Quilter--have fun this weekend with your house full of guests! I'll miss my nieces this Easter. I'm going to have to borrow some children to dye eggs with Saturday night!
I hope everyone has a good day today!

New York is beautiful this time of year! Bryant Park by the New York Public Library is gorgeous. I sit and eat my salad there everyday now.
Still a newbie so I'm still looking for recipes myself! Although I found a sugar free Newman's Own Salad dressing...Check them out the grocery store.
Feeling good about my loss and just hoping I can stick to SB over the weekend. My mom is so supportive. She asked me what I should make so that I can stick to it. What a sweetie!
BigknightsMomma: I'm sorry for your son's loss. It's a terrible tragedy that someone so young should their lives like that. My brother's best friend (only 26) was killed during 9/11. None of us have completely accepted it yet. Hope his surgery is successful and that he has a quick recovery.

Well the end of the week is almost here. Surgery is tomorrow, yuk and I'm not on the schedule until 10:30 a.m. so who knows when I'll actually go in to surgery. Oh, well. Hopefully, this is the last one and my shoulder can get back to normal.
BKM - I'm so sorry to hear about the trials your son is going through. He's so fortunate to have a loving and caring mom like you to help him get through all of this.
Judy - How do you like the ICE Botanicals. I've seen them but have never bought them. Are they really sweet or is it just a little flavoring.
Deb - Have fun on the trip. By the way, are you going to be posting one of your hot Glamour Shots pix? I did it once with a girlfriend and it was so much fun.
Fillise - Way to go girl!
Tree - Have fun with your sister.
Catlover - Where in Texas are you? I'm in Pflugerville (just outside of Austin).
Gracious - How's hubby doing? Glad to see your weather's finally improving.
Quivondra - What flavors of Newman's Own dressing did you find in the sugar free version. I love those dressings and can't wait to find them.
Sol - Sounds like you and Deb had a great visit.
I know I probably missed someone, sorry. Everyone have a great day. I probably will be MIA until next week.

Mornin' everybody. I've stayed OP two whole days!!! Really an accomplishment for me lately. My goal today is to avoid all the candy floating around the school. We have Easter egg hunts today, so the chocolate abounds.:s:I have avoided the cake in the teacher's lounge so far. Good for me. ;) We're expecting a rainy weekend for Easter. The plan is to have the big family egg hunt at MIL's hounse Sat. but it's supposed to rain. I hope it doesn't. The kids will be disappointed.
BKM: I'm so sorry to hear about your son's friend. It's sad at any age, but especially someone so young. Hope his surgery goes well and he recovers quickly.
FILLISE: WTG girl. 65 lbs is great!
KIMMY: CONGRATS on reaching you goal! And you with 5 kiddies. It gives me hope that I can get back in shape after my three. But when you're OLD when you have them, the body just doesn't want to return to its former self.
Debbie: Walking at 6 am?:yawn:Too early for me. I am continuing my walking tape with a few other teachers. We're moving up to the 2 mile tape next week.
GRACIOUS: WTG on resisting the temptation to lick the spoon. We are having special services tonight and tomorrow night along with sunrise and Easter services on Sun. We are having a Seder supper tonight (in Baptist church of all things).
COUNTRYMOM: Your pictures are great. CONGRATS!
QUILTER: Hope you have a good visit with your parents.
Must go. Time for class.

Good morning all! ((hugzz)) I love reading all your post this morning. A really nice way to start the day. Still taking notes..one day I will remember who everyone is...I hope.
Kimmy as for going from my smallest to my largest I don't remember exactly how long it took. I went from a 3 to a 16 kinda gradual. But after I had my son and quit nursing I went from a 16 to a 24 in just a matter of months. The 80 pounds that I lost on SB took about 10 months. I gained a couple over winter but it's coming off and then some now. So hopefully I might reach goal one day.
BigKMomma I'm so sorry you are having a bad week. Praying all goes well with your sons surgery. And that he has the time to grieve the loss of his friend. It's so hard when you are young to face death.
Fillise...I can just see your kitty running wild. Sounds like a fun little kitty.
Well, as much as I would like to respond to more I have to go grade the kids school before they get too distracted. Have a GREAT day everybody.

Good Thursday Everybody!
I am finally in my last stages of arranging the electrical service upgrade. I found a good company that will do it, and my kiln has finally arrived in one piece. Soon...there will be pots galore!
This morning I FINALLY dropped down to 156 or 156.5 Couldn't tell which one, really.
[DId I ever tell you I have a magnifying glass I juggle just so I am able to count the tiny notches on my scale?]
I was VERY happy, especially because I had such a great day yesterday eating some seriously delicious stuff.
BKM - I am very sorry to hear about the tragedies in your son's life. That can really put a damper on person's outlook on life. Thankfully your son has a great support in his family, and I am sure your kindness and love will prevail over the misfortunes.
HAPPY - You are so nice. Thank you. I wish I was at my maintenance weight! I think part of the weight being stuck was that I am building muscle. Remember - when you saw me, I had already lost solid 6 or 7 pounds, and was actually able to fit in my jeans:lol: . So far I lost almost 2 inches around my butt! So if I stay at about 156, 157 for the next month, I should be happy.
The last time I was skinny (my version) I had almost no muscle left. I don't want that to happen this time. I found that exercise makes a bit difference and it makes it easier for me to stay OP. I know things haven't been easy for you lately, but you may feel better if you go out, and clear your circuits exercising a bit, you know? I find that when the world makes me crazy, I "hit the road". Makes a big difference.
GOTTABEME - All the best in your quest for a child. I share your frustration regarding healthy babies being entrusted to alcohol or drug addicted parents, who really only want to get rid of their babes in order to be able to fully pursue their addiction. It is not fair, and it is not right. But you know, justice is blind and there's nothing we can do but hope and pray. And also - you know you will make the greatest parent and if it is an adopted child, you will have the satisfaction of offering him/her something they might otherwise never get a chance to experince. Loving and supporting family.
Checking out for now!
BOB - thanks for the recipes. INNNERESTING>>>!:spin:

Hi Everyone
Just a quickie report as I didn't get to post for WIW. I was up one pound from last week but two pounds from a couple of days ago. I am at 197 pounds which is still 4 pounds more than my pre-holiday low. I've been staying mainly op this past week and had expected to show a loss so was a little disappointed. :( I have been slacking on the water intake so will try harder to get in at least 8 glasses a day. When I am home I do o.k. with the water but find it harder to keep up while working.
It's a beautiful sunny, springlike day here to-day. Which is a relief after the nasty snowy weather we had the last couple of days. I was out this morning to meet ZANNE. We had a very pleasant coffee and chat. I have a picture of Zanne's family which I will post soon.
Trishaloo - Good luck with the surgery on Friday. I wouldn't worry about staying op immediately following the surgery but here's a few things you may be able to tolerate post op: chicken noodle soup (old faithful), chicken or beef bouillon, tea with lemon. Just eat whatever you fancy and are able to tolerate and worry about getting back op when you are feeling better.
Chris - So sorry to hear bout your son's friend being killed. That's very sad. Also sorry about his injury. I hope the surgery goes well for him.
Deb - Happy Holidays. I will start the two new boards either late Sunday or early Monday morning.
Congratulations to all the losers this week. Looks like there were quite a few pounds lost this week.
Have to get to the kitchen to do a pile of dishes before I head out to work. Haven't time to finish reading all to-day's posts. I hope I can catch up on the reading while at work.
Bye for now.
Marie.

Hi everyone
Tree: Mackinaw Island is between the upper and lower penisulas of Michigan. You have to take a ferry to get to the island. It is so beautiful there and you really do feel like you stepped back in time. Here's the web site for the Grand Hotel where the movie was filmed.
http://www.grandhotel.com/
They even have a fan club of the movie that meets there every year. If you stay there they have a dress code in the evening that makes men wear coat and ties and ladies wear dresses or nice pants. It is expensive to stay there so there are a lot of smaller B&B places on the island. If you want to just walk around the Grand Hotel it will cost you an admission charge. I love going there. When I was a little girl we would go vacation there every summer. My DH and I stopped there on the way back from our honeymoon - very romantic. Its been years since I've gone back but may have to schedule it in our trip to Michigan this summer to visit the relatives.
Congrats to all the losers of yesterday's WIW :) :) :) :)
I bought some SF Turtles yesterday to have on hand when the kids get all their Easter Candy. Better eating them than the kids stuff. I have bought the Russle Stover Pecan Delights but not the Turtles so of course I had to try one. It wasn't bad but the RS are definately better.
The dyas a wasting and the kids will be home soon so I better get some more work done around here -

Hello!
I went back and re-read some of the posts you guys put up. I realized a missed some the first time.
SOL - I have been wondering about you. You seem to work very hard on your fitness and also exercise regularly, but are still not loosing. Perhaps that suggestion about checking your Thyroid might be well founded. Have you ever consulted an endycrinologist (probably misspelled to high heavens)?
Anyway. I have PCOS AND underactive thyroid, and I am closer to my desired weight than you. I thought perhaps looking at my fitday schedule could give you some ideas. I am sort of bad about recording every day, especially the exercises.
Naturally, you may have a whole set of different health issues, and my type of diet could be unsuitable or unpalatable for you.
I just think that with all that effort you are putting in, it is your GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO SEE THOSE DARN HAPPY AND POSITIVE RESULTS!!!!
OH - muscles. You know what they told me at the Y when I started working out years ago? They said that my body will first get BIGGER before it would get smaller. THat is because you are bulding muscles under your skin. This is probably what is happening to you, because I just can't see it being any other way.
DEB - I'm 4 hours outside Atlanta... you need to go home through HUNTSVILLE sometime :D
QUILTER - My wedding anniversary is April 13th also, 13 is my lucky number, and always has been... funny then that I met him on the 13th of April, and married him that same date 2 years later. I set my next mini goal to be down to 180 by then :) I'm sure you have more years than I do though... we'll be together 8, married 6.
Ugh... I am having a HARD time eating enough. I'm averaging about 1400 calories a day through the week, sometimes more on the weekend. I'm supposed to be up around 1800, and I just can't seem to do it. Yesterday I did manage to hang on to my 2-3 servings of starchy carbs though!!! And I've upped my water intake the last few days... I'm hoping the next time I head over to the MIL's her scale will be kind :)
Hope everyone is having a good week... we have baseball practices/scrimmages tonight from 5-9pm... so I'll be taking a sandwich to the ballpark... haven't had any starchy carbs yet today, I'm saving it for the 2 pieces of bread for my sandwich ;)
See Y'all Tomorrow :D

Forgot a question I was gonna ask...
I know that if you drink things like diet drinks, crystal light, etc. It doesn't count as water for your water intake... is this because of the artificial sweetner?
I'm just wondering, because I found that I stomach my water better with about 1/2 tsp of lemon juice in each bottle... and I'm wondering if that takes away the fact that it's my water for the day :)
Thanks!!

You know when I first joined this site I thought it would just be another place to chat and have light chatter. BUT YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!!!! all the lines I got back from everyone when I posted my little note about cleansing and conceiving, you all are sooooo encouraging. This place feels like home and like you're sitting around just chatting with friends about life and you get all this feedback from you all that just makes you hold your head a little higher and know in your heart "I'm o.k." THANKS.
BKM: My heart goes to you in your troubles right now I'll say a little pray to help you and your family get through this time:)
Once again to all those "friends" out there thank you and thanks for giving me your support.
:D
have an awesome day!!!

Evening everyone!
Deb--have a good trip--come home safe, sound, and weaned from the scale obsession!
Gottabeme--Awwwwwww. It is amazing how you immediatly feel like part of a big family here. I know I felt that way when I found this board a year ago. We're glad you found us.
Beth--the lemon juice in your water doesn't affect your water intake. I often add a squeeze of lemon to my water. Prevention magazine had something a few months ago that talked about the fact that your body gets water out of most non-carbonated drinks, fruits and vegetables and that maybe they've stressing the 64 oz of water too much (that said they were carefule to point out that coffee and diet drinks STILL don't count as water. But your lemon juice is fine).
Vesnoid--I looked at your fitday journal and agree that you need to be eating more--especially today. I'm hoping you haven't logged everything in yet. The one think you don't want is for your body to think it is starving and start CONSERVING fat stores!!!!:o
BOB--Loved the bumper stickers! Who got voted off tonight? I've been waiting for surviver NASCAR--after every race they vote one driver off the oval and the last guy racing is the champion!
Frog--where are you? I miss you. Hope everything is ok and if your lurking know that I'm holding a good thought for you!
Viv--ditto
I've been thinking about the "when did you get big" question. I was "normal" weight as a small child--till third grade. School was miserable that year and I started gaining weight. I lost it in highschool and stayed ok (with a brief weight gain after my boyfriend and I broke up--but lost that quickly) until after I graduated from college. My first job out of college was miserable and I began gaining weight then. I was on a steady climb from then until 1 and 1/2 years ago when I began SB. So let's note the emotional connection! I'm now at a weight I haven't seen in 16 years. I'm shooting for a weight I haven't seen in over 20 years--yeeeha!
Have a good evening everyone--time for Green tea and ER.

Evening all.
I need yalls help. Ive been craving sweets the past couple of days, and have given in to it, not a good thing at least its all been SF. What I need is something to help with the cravings. Ive tried protein, doesnt work. I have little or no will-power so that doesnt work. Any ideas?
Worked out in the yard today, cutting back my boston fern which had been frostbitten; also cut back my purple fountain grass. worked up quite a sweat. My arms and back are sore from cutting and bending. So I got about 2 hours worth of exercise. Going to start my Leslie Sansone walk away the lbs tomorrow. I have a treadmill but am having problems with my hip when I try to up the mph, so I figue I will do this for a couple of weeks then get back on the treadmill. I have to get in shape as golfing season is beginning soon.
I dont remember who asked , I live in Texas City. There are so many posts its hard to keep up with whats going on, especially if you only get on the board 1 or 2 times a week.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and a Happy Easter. If anyone is going out of town , drive carefully.

HiedieHo All!!!
Sometimes time gets away from me. Am not sure of my lost post, but it has to be two or three days. I know I posted Monday.
Tuesday morning we had one heck of a lightning storm! I sleep with my bedroom window open; I was asleep at 5a.m. when a flashbulb went off in the room and I heard what sounded like a gun shot! I was raised out of bed!! This was followed by another bolt of lightning that lit up the room and shook the rafters! You can bet I shut that window in a hurry, a few minutes later it started to pour.
Later that morning two girls, sisters, were in different bathrooms each using curling irons. Lightning struck their house, blew out one of the outlets and blew the curling irons out of their hands. Each got quite a jolt, but went to school anyway. Later one passed out and was taken to the hospital and later on the other got ill and passed out on way to hospital. Officials said it was real a freak thing that both were using irons at the same time. Also when lightning goes though a home's electrical system it usually starts a fire. Both girls are home now but are very tired and resting.
I have been doing my usual stuff...NH, choir, librarian, gym. Got my hair cut. Today my DIL joined the gym so we met there after my NH visit and her work. It was a lot of fun, she used to teach execise classes and did weights so she showed me a few things more to do each time!! Afterwards the only thing that really HURT was my left hand. I am now wearing a neutral brace at night and in between tasks, she suggested wearing it when I exercise. So will try that. I know it feels better with the splint doctor recommened. But it's a pain in the neck, will I need this until the wrist gets severe enough for surgery? Oh well!!!
I know Deb is on her way, but if any of you haven't tried her Crustless Spinach Quiche, you're missing something that is super. I made it the other night and we just loved it!!!!
I know I am behind and impossible for me to catch up. Congrats to the losers, encouragement to the gainers or stay the samers, and welcome to the newbies.
Take care, Shirley

Been a long day, and I'm pooped.
I had the pleasure of meeting up with MARIE (ROSALIE) today!:D She is a very lovely lady and we chatted for an hour and a half! It went by so quickly. It was like old friends just picking up . I saw pictures of the gang in Orlando. It really is nice to put faces with the names (I gave Marie a pic of me with my guys for her to post, so you'll get to see me soon;) ). We met at a coffee shop and I had told Marie I would bring the Agave for our coffee. I had forgotten the whole reason for our meeting was cause she was brining me 2 cases that she brought home from Florida for me. I was telling my family how Marie offered to bring home the agave, Deb had ordered me some, others had offered to order some and just how nice everyone on the board is. My aunt commented that it's nice to hear there are still such nice people in the world. So EVERYONE give yourselves a pat on the back.
GOTTABEME I agree with you that the people on this board are amazing! It's not just getting support and help with this WOE but we're also here for each other for everyday life problems and accomplishments. It's amazing how much people on this board have in common besides SB.
CATLOVER Speaking of stuff in common (As mentioned above to GOTTA), I'd love to be able to help you out, but all I can say is try to ride it out. Last week I was where you are now. Nothing could satisfy my sweet craving. I ate protein, tried almonds (there's supposed to be another nut too, but I can't think of the name just now), tried drinking a lot of water and milk, ate fruit---and then I just caved and ate non-legal chocolate.:( KEEP STRONG! How about adding vanilla to some coffee? (I never tried that) It would make it kind of sweet. I totally understand where you're coming from. Fortunately for me, after a couple of days I didn't crave the sweets. Hormones are so evil:devil:
FILLISE Congrats on getting to where you were 16 years ago. And thanks for mentioning the green tea. You remind me to make some.
BKM Hope your son's surgery goes well and that he has a quick recovery. Sorry to hear he also has to deal with the loss of his friend.
I have to go nite nites now. I'm gonna fall into the computer.
Have a nice Easter or Passover or time spent with loved ones--whichever you're doing this weekend.

It was a beautiful day in North Texas today. My DH even had to mow the weeds.:D I'm glad the warm weather has finally decided to stay.
I'm feeling better, sinusitis wise, but my asthma has kicked in like it hasn't for a couple of years. I hope that's not a sign of a bad pollen season ahead.
I was so excited on the scale number I neglected to say how much of a loss that was. It was 3 pounds. That's quite a feat for me as I'm a 2 pounds per week person.
Fillese: Congrats on your milestone. That is truly wonderful. And gives us all such motivation and encouragement.
Pooch: Did you see the news about the Texas Navy man who proposed to his girlfriend as their ship docked yesterday? They dropped a huge sign over the side. It was neat. They're going to get married in April in Dallas.
Deb: Have a great vacation. Sounds like you're going to a beautiful part of the country.
Gracious: Congrats on the winning licking challenge.
I feel guilty because I can't respond to everyone. We are going to visit family in Louisiana tomorrow and I still have to pack.
Thunder: We are coming to Olla! My DH's grandmothers live there and are not in the best health so we are going to visit.
Have a good holiday weekend everyone.

Well... My week started with a crappy birthday, and today I find myself unemployed.
Technically, I quit, but it was under extreme duress. My 10 year old was manhandled, and mistreated by his teacher, and when I raised the roof, the boss took HER side, called my kid a troublemaker, me a lousy employee... and I told them he was a great kid and I believed him and they could stick their job where the sun don't shine.
Now I have no job. My mom is proud of me though..LOL. She said the 'life lesson' I taught my son was worth more than I could have ever earned at that job anyway. Especially since he knows I believed him, and believed IN him enough to leave my job for him.
I still wish that paid the mortgage!! :(
Well... I believe I will be in BED for the rest of the week, because I"m not sure I can take it getting any worse!

Hootie Hoo!
I'm going to celebrate the scales moving again by getting my hair cut, my eyebrows waxed and a new Easter dress!
Beth--You've had a horrible, no good, very bad week. I'm so sorry to hear about both the birthday and the job--but your son has to be awfully proud of his mom! :) I'm hoping that this turns out to be a positive thing in the end and you will end up with a better job and a grateful son!
jred--WTG on the three pounds!!!!!! That is a great loss for the week!
Zanne--it sounds like you and Marie had a wonderful time. I'm glad you two got to spend some time together!
Sef--WOW that sounds like quite a storm. I'm glad to hear that the two girls will be fine. My mom used to tell me a story of a storm when she was a little girl. Lightening hit the house and a ball of fire rolled down the wall of her bedroom. Scary stuff. i'm glad you didn't suffer injury or damage to your house!
Cat--I go through the sweet cravings every now and again. Most of the time on SB I don't crave sweets, but every once in a while it gets bad. I went through this a couple of weeks ago and finally found some Russell Stover SF chocolate pecan candy in my cupboard. I ate two pieces and it really did satisfy the sweet craving. So give in and have some SB-legal chocolate or a couple of pieces of SF chocolate candy--or SF icecream or frozen yogurt and see if that helps.
OR go to the recipe baord and make the lemon-cheesecake bites--they are very sweet and SB legal!
Good luck!
Have a good day everyone!

Happy Friday to Everyone.
Don't really have much time today, busy putting a presentatio together, but just wanted to get a few things posted.
Trish, hope your surgery went well and you are not to sick afterwards.
Rose, hope yur colonoscopy went ok.
Vesnoid, thanks for the salad recipe. What is bugar wheat?
BKM, so sorry about your son's friend. That is really tuff on kids. They think they are invinsible. Hope his surgery went well.
Filsie, WTG on losing 65# I am jealous. Hope to be there soon myself.
Rosalie, I have the opposite problem with my water, I can drinks tons at work. Keep a big glass on my desk and drink all day long, but on the weekends, I can hardly get it in.
Beth, You have had the worst week yet. You should do the whole week over. I'm with you on the job and I know your son will appreciate it (some day). THere is a better job out there anyway. Things happen for a reason. Good luck. EAster is Sunday and surely that will bring a better week. Good luck.
I know I have missed some people. Not on purpose, just short for time. To Everyone, Have a Blessed Easter/Passover. Stay away from the candy.

HiedieHo All!!!
Can't figure it out, the last week or two I have been waking up at 6a and not able to get back to sleep. Going to bed usual time. So this morning I have have stripped bed, done three loads of wash, dusted, emptied the freezer to defrost it (it's old!), vacuumed, and a few other things. I'll [probably die this afternoon. Still have to make bed, clean and refill freezer, fold and dry more wash!
BETH - You're cup is certainly running over. We'll pray that it will be filled with better things. I know it is a hardship, but what you did for your son will be always remembered by him! God Bless!
JRED - Enjoy your LA visit!
Well, I sprayed the rug with carpet foam and was waiting for it to dry. It's dry so no excuse to play here.
Take care all!! Shirley

Hi,
Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday were devoted to “the prep” and the colonoscopy. I am very happy to
report that I have no problems. Everyone at the hospital was very sweet, helpful and professional. They had diet
soda for me, so, except for the sugar drip, I didn’t have to worry. I slept all aftenoon and all night and I feel ready
to tackle the day. I am not having any sugar withdrawals, so, I am thinking the drip doesn’t cause any problems.
Sef: I had Deb’s Crustless Quiche again and you are so right...it is delicious.
Quilter: Please tell me more about the SF ice cream bars. I think having reasonable goals like you do helps keep
one focused.
Fillise: Congrats on your weight loss. Such a good idea to treat yourself. I believe I will think of a special treat
for myself to encourage me to reach a mini goal.
Catlover: Sometimes drinking the cinnamon-apple tea by Celestial Seasonings helps me with the sweet cravings.
Otherwise, I eat the Russel Stovers SF candy. Knowing I can’t eat but one serving of those keeps me in line. By
the way, my daughter is a neighbor ...she lives in Bayou Vista.
Beth: So sorry about your terrible week. You did the right thing by standing up for you son.
All of you who posted pictures: Thank you for taking the time and effort to share such wonderful memories with
us.
A little late but I posted my Vincent’s Cole Slaw on the recipe board.
Hope you all have a great weekend.

It is and has been a Good Friday all around. First, got to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ at our service. It went very well. The singing was wonderful, the preaching was excellent ( of course my hubby is the preacher;) !) and the food afterwards was lovely too. Then I got an awesome compliment from a college student who I have not seen for about a month. She said "You look even skinnier than the last time I saw you." You know you gotta love that!!! :D
Oh...TOM arrived Thursday afternoon and so far hasn't brought any extra pounds with him so I am still at 164..so I rejoice about that too.
Yellowrose-Glad to hear you have no major problems and I am sure you are happy that it is over.
sef-With all the housework you are doing you will eventually pass out and stay asleep...keep cleaning girl! ;)
Beth- You are truly having a wretched week. Sorry that you lost your job. Try to be positive though and get looking. Perhaps you will even get a better one and this will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
Going to an Easter play this evening in Fredericton at one of the big churches there. There are 200 people in the production alone and they always put on a good show, as it were...or so I have been told. I am going with a girlfriend while our hubbies split wood. I think we got the better end of the deal, don't you?! :s:
I won the tickets from the Christian radio station so that makes it even nicer! We will have dinner first and I am dreaming about a sirloin steak..it is going to be yummy!
Have a great Friday everyone.

Went shopping during my lunch break and got some cute tops. My lower body still carries most of the weight so it's hard to find bottoms.
Excited to go home and see the parents and my brother. My mom isn't a sweet tooth so we'll probably not have too much candy around. Goody for me!!
I'm truly sorry for some of you who are going through some difficulties. On the bright side, spring and summer are well on there way so at least we can bank on some sunshine!
Congrats to all the losers and keep on truckin' you gainers. There's always next week!
Thanks for making my first week experience on this board a successful one. I've lost 2.5lbs and I'm going strong. I've been checking the board 3 or 4 times a day and it's really keeping me in check. Thanks guys!!
Have a great holiday!

Hello everyone!!!
It is not a bad day here in big ole' Cinci! The temp is pretty mild, but it is cloudy :( ...hey, can't have it all...
I got my recumbant bike and man....I am so out of shape. I can do about 5 minutes and I am beat. On my treadmill I could do 50 minutes at about 15-16 MPM...but on the bike...WOW. Oh well! I have set a goal of 30 min by the end of April.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! We too have a Good Friday activity at our church. It is a big secret...so I am looking forward to it. My pastor said it would probably not be the best idea to invite my hubby (who is not really a Christian) so I will just take my kiddos (as usual).
Scales are still being kind....129-130. If I could grow about 3 inches I would really be happy! 5'6+ isn't bad...but 5'10" would be great!
Have a good one!
In Him,
Kimmy;)

Hello Everyone...
I'm really new to SB - in fact so new that I dont' even have the book yet (just ordered it this morning from Amazon).
I have tried every diet imaginable since I was 12 - lost and gained this same 40 pounds probably 6-8 times...
Noticed this week with all the Easter candy that I was feeling sluggish, tired, unable to concentrate, among other things....when I cut backon the sugar I definately noticed a difference so I decided to give SB a try....
Will keep checking in...sounds like a fun group!:^:

Welcome Toto's Mom...I've only been here at the board for abotu a week and already the ladies have been a wealth of information. And just down right nice. *smile* I've been on plan for a year this month.
WTG KIMMY! I think I would start panting after a minute..if I made it that far.
Quivordra...isn't it so fun to go out and get new stuff. There is a little senior citizens store here and I love to go get goodies there as the weight goes down. It helps the community not to mention my pocketbook.
Gracious...sounds like you had a super day. Is your hubby feeling better? It was him that was feeling poorly wasn't it? I'm still trying to remember everyone...LOL
Lyn..so glad nothing was wrong and that you came through okay. I can't wait to check out the slaw recipe.
Let me just tell you all how wonderful your photos are. It looks like you had such a blast at the get together. Well, I've sat at this computer most of the day playing with my graphics and reading emails so I'd better get before my hinny is shaped like the chair. Have a great evening.

Well... everyone knows what a crappy week I've had... sorry to be a downer. I went and got my last check today and they were really nice to me... I think they know that I have enough *goods* on them to damage them if I leave really upset. They did short me 9 hours, which I pointed out and they are going to correct. Puh-leeze like I didn't look at my timecard before I left
Anyway... On to my GOOD news! I went to my mother in laws to pick up our new kitten. (He's a 9.5 week old mutt kitty that looks like a siamese, I'll post a pic soon... no name yet, but he was born on DH's birthday!) And you all know what I do when I go to my MIL's.... WEIGH IN!!
So... for Weigh In Friday.... I'm DOWN 4 POUNDS since last time I weighed.... about 2 weeks ago I think... don't remember. I'm a SOLID 184, and 4 pounds from my mini goal on 4/13... I can do it!!
Cutting the artificial sweetners and treats, and upping the water really worked... I lost 7 pounds the first week like that, so I don't know why I thought it would be any different today! :)
Anyway.. maybe this is the beginning of a better stretch.
Sunday we're going to my dad's for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. My dad puts $$$ in plastic eggs of ALL denominations... the highest egg has a $100 bill in it!! I'm all over it this year.. I need that $$$$$$!!!!!!
Also have a lead on a Medical Transcriptionist assistant.. I can type about 85 WPM accurately, and would get GOOD money for it to work from home! Fingers Crossed and Prayers Going Up please! :)
Thanks so much for all the support. It feels so good to have other people tell me I did the right thing standing up for my son. Sometimes the right thing is the hardest thing, and it's a test for us. I guess I passed... :) I do believe that if you do what is right, you aren't punished for it, but rewarded, so I have to believe that *HE* has something more in store for me, something much better.
Have a great weekend... and a Blessed Holiday whatever you celebrate :)

I know I haven't been around this week, but I thought I'd drop in a nd say hi to everyone! Hope everyone is having a very happy holiday :D
Beth - I am so sorry to hear about your week - I got fired Sunday. This has just been one rough week! I am so glad you stood by your son! I sure hope he knows how lucky he is to have you for a mom!!! I'm praying that your prospect works out for you, as I know how important it is to be able to pay your bills, as well as take care of your childrens needs. BTW - how's that pinkeye?
Adron noticed the other day that I looked like I was losing weight!!! He's such a guy - I wasn't expecting that from him ;) I have decided to be a stay at home mom now - getting fired for the 2nd time this year (by the same person) just really showed me that I wasn't where I should be. So I am going to continue working my home business, but I'm going to put a whole lotta effort into it now so we can survive on that income. Adron really doesn't want to seel his precious car, ya know....
Needless to say, this also frees up time for me to go to the gym! Adron asked that I start going for at least 30 minutes (every day I guess?) but I told him that I was working as hard as possible to get the girls Easter dresses made, and I would start next week. I am so excited about going!!!!!

Well my precious grandkids are gone back to Colorado. Sure loved the week with them. The house is really quiet now. I haven't felt well enough to get on the treadmill but will try hopefully later today or tomorrow so by Monday I can be back on it. I won't try to write to everyone cause I'm soooooo far behind. But will have a fresh start Monday. Just wanted to wish everyone a really nice Easter....

Hope everyone else has better weather than we do!!! We had tornado weather last night... the lightning was awesome!
We're supposed to get RAIN RAIN RAIN for the entire weekend. Guess I'll be catching up on Laundry!! I posted a new pic on the bio board of the family on my youngest son's birthday February 18th. I've lost about 8 pounds since then I think... and I think I look better now ;) I find that in all pictures I hide behind people and only stick part of my face out hehehehe.
Somewhere I found a pic of me at Christmas.. I'll have to try and find it and get it posted... it will show the DRAMATIC difference in me between Christmas and now! :)
Stay Dry and have FUN everyone :)

Hi All,
It is going to be a very rainy day in Dallas. I hope it quits for Easter.
Has anyone heard about polydextrose? I saw some hard candy by Fifty 50 in the store that is sugar free but has all
these chemicals. I wonder how bad that main ingredient is. I was thinking this sugar free candy might get me
away from the almonds I seem to want in the afternoons.
Beth: Finally a break for you. It was certainly time for an upward swing of “luck”. Although luck had little to do
with your hard work of losing the 4 pounds. You mentioned cutting out the artificial sweeteners and treats.
Sometimes I believe I did better before I knew about the legal treats. Thanks for posting the pictures...you are sooo
pretty.
Adronsgirl: Oh, bad news about your job. I am so sorry. Just think, you will now have the time to put the effort
into your home business and the gym.
CountryMom: The latest picture of you makes you look so young and quite the modern Miss and very lovely
indeed.
Hope you all have a great day.

Sorry to have been so MIA, but as DH likes to say, "Life intervened."
Just got off the phone with DEB. She wants all to know that she made it, traffic was horrible in Florida, and (drumroll please...) she DID NOT pack her scale! When I started reading all the debate on the board about the scale I immediately picked up the phone and called her. I was LMAO about that! I will be going over on Thursay and will return home on Sat. Looking forward to a visit with her.
Have been reading and trying to catch up for over an hour. I finally quit reading at the end of Wednesday's posts. I hope I didn't miss anything major by skipping.
GM is having a little bit of a hard time adjusting to NH. But hopefully this will improve before it gets worse. As is typical, she was all packed to go home when my parents went to visit. I know this is just the beginning of her doing this MANY times. Her original roommate punched her in the stomach after about an hour together so they had to separate them. New roomate and new friend assisted in the encouragement of the "packing."
My new name is "Zippy Diapertushie"
WELCOME NEWBIES - It's great to have you here! I am usually a regular poster, several times a week plus chat, just been a little too CRAZY lately to get it all in. Look forward to getting to know you all.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! to everyone who's birthday I've missed! Beth, Yellow Rose, Monet, etc. Please forgive me for being forgetful.
I've continued to workout on my BFL plan. However, I haven't been SF. I have really been bad! DH threatened to send me to the Detox Dungeon and wanted to know if Deb had a portable one, aka trailer, that she could haul to NC! I am officially back in detox and am forgoing all the treats I've been allowing myself the past month; primarily, chocolate covered anything! :ink:
Allergy season is in full swing here in the heart of the hard woods. These trees here give me fits, but they are so beautiful. Thank heaven for antihistimines!
For those of you who know about my vulvodinia, I think it is getting worse and have a doc appt in early April to discuss options. :(
I really enjoyed the pics on the board from the recent get together! Looks like you all had a great time. Wish I coulda been there too!
Now I'll attempt to reply to the posts I've read!
ZANNE - Great picture on the photo board. I'll bet your energy is from exercising. That's a great feeling. How is BFL going for you? Are you seeing results as quickly as you'd hoped!
MEL - Saw your pics on L&S! WTG! Congrats on reaching your goal.
GRACIOUS - Hope that your DH is better soon!
SEF - Thanks for the info on Alz. The more I read the more I think that perhaps she does have late onset AD. Are you familiar with "busy pillows" for AD patients? The pillows that are like "Dressy Betsy" and "Dapper Dan" dolls, with laces and buttons, etc? If so, do you know where I could get a pattern for such? I would like to make some for the NH where she is.
QUILTER - Howdy! Seeing that your nickname is Quilter, can you turn me onto some good beginning quilt patterns? I want to make the tops on the machine. Have tons of fabric and supplies, just need to know what a good pattern for beginners might be. Log cabin, etc.
BETH - Sorry to hear about your unhappy birthday. I had one of those when we move overseas just before my birthday. It was soooo bad! No transportation, no currency, no plan, no hope! It was the first b-day I hadn't spent with family too. The only chance for real food was Burger King on base and when we got there it had been closed about 15 minutes! I ended up crying for 2 hours and eating junk food from a vending machine for dinner. DH just stood there dumb-founded. I also share a bad hair highlight horror story with you. Basically, don't let a man highlight your hair while he is watching basket ball, and yes, he was a professional stylist.
FILLISE - Congrats on reaching your new weight!
MONET - Love your name! Thanks for the info on Harry's. If you are that close to GP mall, maybe we can get together the next time I visit my sister or when I am driving through!
BUS - Have fun on your camping trip!
LDBLOND - Just curious as to whether or not I have said something that you found offensive. I've noticed that you've never posted a message to me, even when I've sent one to you. Hope that isn't the case. If I've hurt your feelings or something, I apologize.
SOL - I read last week that Vince hates Survivor. He was a saint to sit and watch that 2 hour special with us in O-town in Jan! WOW!!! So exciting about the puppy! Are you talking about names yet? Your progress with your walking is GREAT! You're already at over 1/2 th3 distance and it's only MARCH. "All for SOL stand up and hollar 'YEAH!'" I was looking at the pics on the board from the recent get together. I think your face (the only part I could really see) looks much slimmer. I am willing to bet that you are gaining muscle and loosing weight all in the same and that is throwing you off on the scale. Did you get an answer to the BFL question about fat loss vs. muscle gain? Did you happen to hear about Bob Greene being on Oprah. He was saying that when people first start exercising and hydrating properly that he HOPES to see as little as a 5 pound gain. The reason is that your muscles need water and when you are properly hydrated they are heavier. It takes a lot of water to be properly hydrated. If you are eating enough, drinking enough AND exercising enough, then don't worry about the scale. Look for other ways to measure your success. Keep it up girl! BTW - BP is already talking about coming back to O-town to see you guys!
BigKnightsMama - Thanks to your DD for the froggie! I saved your address and want to send her a thank you note. I know how kids like to get mail. Will do my best to get it out soon.
JUDY - Welcome. You will get to know everyone, and they you, when you keep posting and reading.
TREE - Welcome back!
VES - Loved the pics. I have a red front door too!
COUNTRYMOM - Your pics are amazing! Great transformation!
CATLOVER - Welcome back!
NASCAR - Welcome back to you too!
POOCH - Laughed at the story of the DD's clothes. She may not like it, but I bet her friend's think it's  cool!
YELLOWROSE - Hope you colonoscopy was uneventful.
TRISH - Thinking about you during your shoulder surgery!
Oh my, think that is about all I was able to catch up on. Sorry for those who posted something after Wed that was pertinent.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A HAPPY EASTER!
Peace,
FROG

Hello everyone--I hope you are having a great weekend!
Looks like Easter here is going to be a rainy mess. We haven't gotten the bad storms like the folks in the northern part of the state did--but it should be soggy from here on out. I'm having to move the kiddies Easter Egg hunt indoors for Sunday School tomorrow.
Toni and BOB--if either of you looked at my fitday journal yesterday--it is completely different now. I ended up going out of a late lunch and then had a half of bag of oat sticks for dinner. My bad! Today I'm going all fish so the protein is way up for today which will hopefully smooth out the carb overload from yesterday!
Frog--it is good to hear from you--I was getting worried. Have a good visit with Deb--hopefully she will be throught the scale detox by then--hope you are through the sigar detox too! It is hard to resist this time of year--I've got folks at the church bring me Easter treats--even though they've heard me preach about the evils of sugar 100 times! I hope I'm strong enough tomorrow to put it into the pile for the kid's Easter egg hunt!
Yellow--I have noticed that polydextrose is in a lot of SF stuff. Somewhere I saw the words low glycemic in parentheses after polydextrose on an ingredient list. More than that I don't know.
Beth--I'm glad to hear the week is getting better (it had to--right?) I'll keep you and the job in my thoughts and prayers. In the meantime--enjoy your Easter celebrations!
ADrons girl--sorry to hear about your week as well. But at least you feel like you shouldn't have been there in the first place. Good luck with the home business and staying home with the kiddies! Tell Adron--that his kids are more important than his car!;) (sorry, couldn't resist). He does sound sweet for noticing your weight loss--and TELLING you about it!
Beth (again)--CONGRATS ON THE 21 LBS!!!!!! WOOOHOOO GIRL!
Have fun with the kitten--mine has been such a joy--even when she is in the dectructo-kitty phase. Belle is also a siamese mutt--but she doesn't have the coloring, just the build of a siamese.
totosmom--Welcome! I hope you will find that this is a WOE (way of eating) that you can embrace for life--and kiss those 40 lbs goodbye forever!
Quivondra--congratulations on the 2.5 lost--that's a great loss for the week! Shopping for new--smaller--clothes is so much fun!
gracious--sounds like you have had a full week! We had services both Thursday night and Friday--and then of course the big celebration tomorrow! Sounds like DH is holding up pretty well--hope he is well on the road to recovery!
OK--got to go do something (anything) today!
If I don't get to get on the board tomorrow, I hope everyone who celebrates has a great Easter! I also hope Passover has been a joyous celebration for Deb, Mel Viv, etc!
Susan

I just posted several recipes on the Recipe Board -- ROSE -- I finally put the bran muffin recipe on there! My momma says I'm always a day late and a dollar short……just keeping up with my reputation, ya know…. :s:
LADIES, the Savory Beef Sandwich recipe I posted is a crock pot recipe that is SOOOOOO easy and cheap and those Meat & Potatoes Men LOVE this dish. I've served this at both our SB Gang get togethers here and everyone seems to like it. Mr. FROG and ELI went out of their way to tell me how much they liked it.
[b]OMG If you are having problems deciding on some menu items I suggest a cruise around our recipe boards! I've been on there for about an hour and printed out about 20 different recipes and things I've been looking for but keep forgetting to ask about - MONET I was TICKLED PINK to find a recipe for Egg Foo Yung!!! Thank you!!
BETH Keep hanging in there, Girlfriend! God's the master at making lemonade out of lemons. I agree with the consensus that you standing up for your son is going to be one of the things he vividly remembers as he ages. You did a mighty big thing! I thought I'd be at my FORMER company forever, but got laid off. I ended up with a very similar job and much better benefits! It can happen for you, too! Your pics are awesome!! Thanks for posting them - you got a mighty good looking family!
Quivondra You've got a picture on there too! I hadn't seen that! Now, if we could see what you look like when you're not ready to vamp! I don't know the answer to your question about the # of grams of carbs, protein each day. It would vary because of our weights. I plug everything into www.fitday.com and don't really count anything but calories and then check out the pie chart on my percentages for everything else. Someone else may be able to help with your question.
GOTTAB You're right. This is like being at the Central Perk and hanging out with your friends. Not only do I always learn something, but I always feel that extra "oomph" to stick with this after reading everyone's posts.
VESNOID Awwww, thank you so much!! You are sooo sweet! Actually two weeks ago I wasn't "Miss Fit" nor was I a poster child for Sugar Busters. This is just a reminder that I can't afford to cheat or slack off. I did have my thyroid checked a little over a year ago and it was fine. I do have PCOS and I take Glucophage for it. I think between that and the fact that nearly everyone in my mom and my dad's families weigh over 300 lbs. I have a steep uphill battle. My parents aren't overweight, but they work very, very hard at it. DEBBIE eats about 1400 calories per day at her weight - I wonder if you added 200 calories each day if that would help you get to your goal quicker - espeically since you're being so active, too….
FILLISE You just wait! You're gonna be a Cover Girl for Sugar Busters soon with the way you're going! I've thought about getting my eyebrows waxed, but just haven't gotten up the nerve to do it and Vince thinks I don't need to, so I'm afraid of what he'd think if I came home with them too thin. My body must be getting old, I can't have caffeine that close to bedtime anymore, but used to laugh at people who complained about it! I love Good Earth green tea because it's got lemongrass in it and doesn't need any sweetener, but 'authentic' Chinatown Green Tea sounds absolutely special!
CATLOVER I think they say that if you cut out all sugar, all legal sweeteners and can stick it out for a few days that it will get better. Many legal sweeteners trigger sweet cravings just like regular sweets do. You're right to try the protein and almonds. I don't know what else to suggest. Maybe unsweet applesauce with triscuits?
SEF Sounds like a terrible storm!
ROSE So glad to hear that things went well for you!
ZANNE Good looking family!! Thanks for sharing with us! Isn't MARIE the best?!? I was so glad to finally get to meet her in person.
TMOM[B] WELCOME! You're definitely at the right spot! I recommend checking out the links DEBBIE has posted as the first post of the Weekly Support Board each week. There's TONS of information there and our recipe boards are awesome!
[b]ASGIRL Sorry to hear about your job situation too. What's your home business? I would LOVE to work from home. Hopefully they'll move that direction with my position, the company is 'hip' enough to consider alternatives like that. Be careful with the gym visits - they can get addictive!
FROG You are a doll! Thank you! Tomorrow I'll add another 1/2 mile to my journey. I know I'm supposed to add distance first and the time will come, but, by golly, I'd take a 30 second improvement even in my pace. :D I have been more faithful than ever to getting that water in. I would LOVE for that to be the issue! I have an appointment with the Endocrinologist in April and I'm sure we'll re-run my blood work then. Can't wait to see your new 'buff-ness'! I'm sure I'll try BFL next year - right now I'm focusing on this marathon….I'm also letting you, MEL, ZANNE, SEMMENS and everyone else test the waters before I jump in. I'm soooo jealous that you're gonna get to spend so much time with DEBBIE!! I know y'all will have a blast!
BKM I heard about that wreck. I'm so sorry that it's one of the Big Knight's buddies. It's so hard to handle losing a friend, but especially, I think, when you're so young. Sorry rto hear about his surgery, too. The surgery is up on Aloma? I work way down by FL Mall or I'd love to come up and visit you during my lunch break. Will you be in town on Monday night? Please do give me a call.
SLAPHAPPY Thanks for the support and the info - I'll definitely look into reading that book!
FRUIT Haven't forgotten about you! I just don't have any big envelopes around the house - I'll try to send Meister to the PO this week to get your cookbook mailed to you!
QUILTER I wanna come hear DH play sometime! (Okay, excuse to meet you in person!) Edy's (I think it's Edy's) has a new Chocolate Chip MINT ice cream and it's yummilicious!!! You can make your goals! I know you can!
WOW!! It's taken me forever to catch up and I wasn't even able to get to everyone, but I've got to clean house today. Have a great week-end everyone!

Good afternoon everyone
I hope you are all having a good weekend. I'm having my family over for dinner to-day but I am all caught up with the preparations so have a little time to sit and try to respond to some posts. I'm so far behind I think I will have to start at the end and work backwards! I've had a busy week plus worked a late shift followed by a day shift yesterday and was all pooped out last night. I went to bed at 7 and slept until midnight then was up a couple of hours before trying to get to sleep again. Was up again at 6 this morning so got some chores done nice and early.
I've made Debs's Cheesecake for dessert but this time made it with a crust. I used Special K for the crust - I've had this recipe for ages but this is the first time I have used it. I must say it tasted pretty good before it was cooked - I would say as good as the graham cracker crust. Hope it tastes as good now it's cooked but I have to wait to find out. :D We're having ham, green beans, cauliflower and green salad. Also spiced Uncle Ben's rice. I've also made a trifle - I know not op but it is my family's favorite and this time I used agave in the custard so I won't feel guilty eating that part of it.
Solshine - Thanks for posting the recipes. I am definitely going to try the pot roast. BTW Did you get the e-mail I sent you last week?
Fillise - Have fun with the Easter egg hunt tomorrow.
Frog - It's good to see you back. Thanks for letting us know that Deb arrived safely. I just know you will enjoy your visit with her.
Yellowrose - I didn't know what polydextrose was so I did a search on GOOGLE and this is what I found:
Polydextrose
Polydextrose is a multi-purpose additive synthesized from dextrose (glucose), plus about 10 percent sorbitol and 1 percent citric acid. It is commonly used as a replacement for sugar, starch, and fat in commercial cakes, candies, dessert mixes, gelatins, frozen desserts, puddings, and salad dressings. The amount of polydextrose used can vary depending on the type of product, examples include frozen dessert, 13 to 14 percent; puddings, 8 to 9 percent; and cake 15 to 16 percent.
How is Polydextrose regulated?
The FDA approved Polydextrose in 1981. The FDA requires that any serving of food that contains one-half ounce of polydextrose must be labeled with the following: "Sensitive individuals may experience a laxative effect from excessive consumption of this product."
What are the health effects of polydextrose?
There is no evidence that polydextrose is carcinogenic or mutagenic, however, as with many fat replacement products, it may interfere with the absorption of certain essential nutrients and produce flatulence and diarrhea when consumed in high quantities.
This is another brief description I found: It is a unique reduced-calorie (one calorie/gram) bulking agent that can be substituted for sugars and, in some instances fats."
I personally think we are better keeping away from the sf candy - I think almonds would be a better choice. If we consume too much sweet tasting stuff, even if it doesn't contain sugar, the body can be fooled and still have an insulin response.
Toni48 - Glad you enjoyed the visit with the grandkids. Too bad they live so far away from you that you don't get to see them too often. We have to make the most of them while they are young as they grow up so quickly.
Adronsgirl - Sorry to hear about the work situation but perhaps it is all for the best if you can be at home spending more time with the kids. I hope your home business is successful.
Beth - Congrats on the 21 pound milestone. WTG.
TotosMom - Welcome to SB. I would encourage you to read the book to get a good understanding of this woe and if you have any questions just ask. Someone is sure to be able to help you. This is a great board for support and friendship. I look forward to getting to know you.
Zanne - Thanks for the kind words. I too really enjoyed our meeting. It was like meeting an old friend. I was in the new Dominion store in R.H. to-day and I found the SNYDERS Oat Bran Pretzels. These are the ones I was telling you about that I was looking for when I was in Orlando but was unable to find them. I don't know if you are a spaghetti eater but I was on the Aussie web site yesterday and there was a list of some new products that had been tested and one was UNICO's White Durum Wheat Spaghetti which had a gi of 44. There was no indication tho of how long it had been cooked, as we know that 'al dente' does reduce the gi. Just thought I would share it with you as it is a Canadian brand.
Well I know I still haven't got to everybody but I have to stop and go and get my ham in the oven before the family descends on me.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Marie.

Just checking in, reading posts. It is raining here, heavily and has been off and on all day. We needed the rain, and I am thankful that I finally finished pruning all my roses! whew! I have about 80, and it takes me a while to do them all. I am slow!
I just read on the internet news that England's Queen Mother died today. She was 101 1/2. She was a remarkable woman, with lots of style. I wish I could look at good as she did at 102 when I am even 75! Of course, she could afford the best clothes, and the best anything she wanted. The article said she never forgave Wallis Simpson for making Edward VIII abdicate, which made her husband king.
SOL: Glad you liked the egg foo yung recipe! It is a staple around here! Add more eggs to the recipe if you have a big appetite! The veggies are like NO calories! If there are any other Asian recipes you want, please ask! I have TONS of recipes! Many are low carb, and suitable for SB.
FROG: Thanks for the belated birthday greetings! It would be great to meet you if you are ever in Atlanta - especially if you are around Gwinnett Mall. I live fairly close to it. Just let me know!
BETH: wow! Congrats on the 20 pound milestone! I am almost there...just about two pound more! I am excited, since my doctor is working so hard to figure out what I need to lose. I was thinking about how hard it has been, and how discouraged I was getting over the years. I at least feel hopeful now.
GRACIOUS: Enjoy the Easter play! Sounds like fun! Splitting wood is definitely men's work! You won't miss a thing at home! :s: Hope you hubby is feeling good, and your Easter service goes well tomorrow. I think we will go at 7am. I don't want to even SEE the crowd we will have at 11! The church is big as it is...about 5,000 members, but on holidays, we have TONS of visitors, and the traffic, parking, and crowds intimidate me!
FILLESE: My crazy yellow tabby is outside someplace in the rain! He acts really strange when it rains a lot. If he is inside and it is thundering, he is under the bed, or sofa, or will even sit in your lap! Lap sitting is something he would NEVER do otherwise! You are lucky in that Belle is at least affectionate. I miss that with this cat.... so aloof! sigh.
Now someone tell me honestly, how do you keep track of all the posts to reply? Do you take notes while reading? I get so confused! :dizzy: I am trying hard to get better at it. If someone has some tips, share please! And if I don't seem like I am friendly, or something, it is cause I get lost! I really struggle with details! :o
Happy Holidays to all!
Rosalie

Monet - I always type in my posts using NOTEPAD then copy and post into the reply page when I am finished. If you open NOTEPAD while you are reading the posts you can flip from one to the other and either make notes for later or type in the responses as you go along. Another way is to tile the windows horizontally so you have both NOTEPAD and the BOARD on the screen at the same time. But this gives you a much smaller window for reading the posts. I used to do it this way but find the first way I described better.
Marie.

HiedieHo All!!!
My intentions are always good, nut they don't always work out the way I want. Was going to do so much today and wound up taking it easy. Took a nap too!
This evening my GD and DS treated us to the buffet at Casino Magic. It was really good. I only cheated on a piece of catfish that was breaded. They have SF desserts there so could have legal blueberry pie. GD wanted to treat us all but DS said it was too much for her to do so they agreed to split the bill.
FROG - You asked about the dolls, I have never seen a pattern for them, did you look in a Simplicity or McCalls Pattern Book? It is amazing some of the things they have patterns for. they used to have lots of doll and pillow patterns. You might be able to adapt something.
KIMMIETHEK - I used a recumbent bike at the gym, it was really work at first, I now do 20 minutes so you will soon be going like a house afire! I am afraid of the treadmill because of the sensation in my feet, I sometimes can't feel a surface neath them and stumble, if you stumble ona treadmill it keeps going!!
TOTO - Welcome, we are a friendly, caring, funny and informative group. You will like it here!
BETH - Hope you get job as Med. Trans. After I lost my job I went to Medical Tech School for Administrative Medical Asst. I loved the transcription part! Mainly because of the terminology, I was excellent at it! Now if I could type as fast as you! Now with wrist problem...... I did my externship in the Transcription Dept of a hospital. It was so facinating. Good Luck!!! WTG on 21#!!!!!
MONET - I love Asian food, but I can't figure out what to use in place of cornstarch that is legal. Flour gives a flour of its own. What do use for thickening? Interested people want to know!
Time to end this. Hope all who celebrate it have a Happy Easter!
Take care, Shirley

I've wondered about this too; I think there are quite a few "atkins-type' prducts that I've heard of but never looked for. Would arrowroot be legal? Or I know guar gum is a no calorie thickener often used commercially. There's also agar-agar, which is a vegetarian gelatin type product. It would probably just be a matter of figuring out equivalent measures.

Happy Easter Everyone! Since we had the GK all week we're spending a quiet day at home. Enjoying the beautiful sunshine.
Bob-I hope you have a great afternoon luncheon.
Semmens- I've wondered about arrowroot too. They sell it here at the healthstore.
Sef-I was wondering if the arrowroot that Semmens was talking about would work for your Asian food? What a wonderful GD you have! You sure didn't do bad if that catfish was the only cheat. I'd love to try a sf blueberry pie.
Rosalie- I could kiss you for saying how you did posts. I have such a bad memory I've just been struggling with posting and it takes so long. I had my husband show me how to use the wordpad for this and I love it. Thanks for the good article on Polydextrose. Your dinner sounds wonderful. Do you have that special K crust recipe on the recipes. I would love to have it.

Toni48 - Glad I was able to help you with the posts. The Special K Pie Crust recipe was posted by DEBELLI on the November 2000 Recipe Board. I have brought it to the top to make it easier to find.
HAPPY EASTER

Happy Easter to all! We had a wonderful service today and had some visitors from the community who came because of the Good Friday Service, which is wonderful. We are having our Easter Dinner tomorrow and I have invited a new couple to our church. I am doing a turkey with all the fixings so there will be enough legal stuff for me to eat and all the illegal stuff for my family and friends to enjoy!
I nearly lost it about a half hour ago. My son was eating a snack sized Twix from his Easter egg hunt and I was eyeballing :s: it rather seriously. We did the hunt yesterday but I was not tempted at all. I don't know what got into me but I asked my 3 year old if I could have one...he happily obliged and handed me one. I took one tiny bite and tasted it then immediately jumped up and spit it out without swallowing. I couldn't do it!! I was so pleased then for another quick moment I looked up and saw a package of sesame bagels sitting there calling my name. Oh my, that was even harder. I took the package and began to rationalize things...TOM is here, I have done so good, why not treat myself, etc....well...I dropped those bagels like a hot potato and high-tailed it out of the kitchen. Scary how that can happen! I refuse to give in though and will have a nice salad very soon to fill the void. I just had to get out of that kitchen...flee the temptation.
MONET- The Easter Play was wonderful and very worshipful...and my sirloin steak was AWESOME!! I also had some mussels cause it was surf and turf.
I can't even imagine 5000 people in one church building. That is 5X the population of our whole town! Yikes.
SEF & SEMMENS- I use guar gum to thicken things because the carb count is negligable. It does a good job, you just have to make sure you don't use too much or else you will get *glue* I know that Monet says she uses the SGWW Pastry Flour to thicken lots of things too.
BETH- How can I get invited to that Easter Egg Hunt with the cash filled eggs?? ;) Glad things seem to be turning around for you.
FILLISE- Wanted to say congrats on your great loss. You have done a fantastic job of it and I must say you are inspiring to me because of it!
FROG LOVER- Hubby is hanging in there, thanks for thinking of him. He did a great job of preaching all weekend and I am so happy the Lord kept him going through it all. Still struggling with the nausea but it seems to become more infrequent and we are thankful for that.
Guess I will sign off now. It is a gorgeous day here today and I walked 4 kms in 35 minutes. I usually ride the bike but thought this would give me some more variety. I liked it and could feel muscles that I haven't noticed before so I know that is a good thing.

Blessed Easter to you all!
I had wanted to go to the early service, but we stayed up too late, so we went at nine. We got there early, so we did get seats. The traffic going out was awful! The service was great tho. We have an awesome Worship and Arts department, and the choir was incredible. They did the Hallelujah chorus, and I had tears streaming down my cheeks.
I made a nice dinner for the family, Rock Cornish game hens. I had never had they before. It was good. I made too much food tho...so guess I will have salad as a late supper later.
SEF: I have used guar gum for thickening some. I don't mind it, but my family complains that it is slimy. Arrowroot is a traditional thickener for Asians, but I do not know if it is SB legal. Agar Agar will not work...it is more like gelatin. I would suggest trying guar gum, and if you don't like it try arrowroot. I often try to make my stir fries in such a way that I can reduce the sauce with no thickener. I have several recipes that did that, which gave me the idea. It works ok. The thickened sauce is not essential to the flavor... ;)
SEMMENS: The agar agar works great for making jello like consistency dishes, but I am not sure it would work for a sauce. Have you tried it? I have made almond jello with it, and another odd Asian pudding that sets up like jello, but I am not sure it would be feasible to use a small enough amount to just kind of thicken a sauce. Have you seen it in any form other than a hunk of spongy looking stuff? I get it at the Asian market, and that is what it looks like. I have never seen it in say, instant form. It would be cool if it came like that!
TONI: Yep, 80 rose. I had a serious addiction that I think I am getting over. The cure has been a serious lazy streak I have. The pruning and spraying take a more ordered person than I am. I even got some very expensive fungicide so I would not have to spray as often, and I still forget to spray! It doesn't help the blackspot much in the bottle! I do love them when they are blooming. I wish they looked beautiful, but I have to be honest and admit that they don't. I am slowly replacing the fussier varieties with those that thrive on neglect. Once I finish, I think it will be rather charming! I guess once they start blooming, I will forget the hard work. All it takes is one whiff of a good fragrant one, and I will have rose fever all over again! :)
ROSALIE: Thanks for the tip on how to keep up with the posts! I will try that. I should have done it this time, but forgot! At least there were not as many as usual, so I am not as lost!
GRACIOUS: Glad you enjoyed the play. And pat yourself on the back for spitting that candy out! How naughty of you to ask your three year old, who you know would never refuse you! :s: You should ask your EIGHT year old, who would probably tell you no way, you are on a diet! (they get even worse! my fifteen year old will take things away from me, please her heart! LOL ) Yep, the church is 5k members. Maybe more. There were at least 2,500 at the service I went to this morning. The auditorium seats 2200, and they were full and had people in the overflow rooms. In the overflow rooms, we have live video, so it is not too bad. At one point a year and a half ago, we were the fastest growing church in north America. It is a good church, determined to impact the area for Jesus. We have started over ten sister congregations around the city as well. All combined, there would be a membership of probably close to 15,000. It is exciting to see the growth. If you are interested in it at all, check out the web page. It is perimeter.org.
I just had my Easter candy...a low carb chocolate bar. Yum! Thankfully, it was the last one in the house!

Toni- I did, I did! Sheesh, I was really tempted. I just made and ate a big salad so I hope I can last the night. You know how some days are worse than others? I guess this is one of the *worse* ones. Hubby is out and the kids are all in bed now, that makes it even harder for me cause I know no one is watching. I will hang in there though.
How is your treadmill coming along, Toni? I found this week hard because I was so busy. I like it when everything goes according to plan. I am an administrative sort and don't like it when there is a wrench thrown into my exercise plans or plans of any kind for that matter.
Monet- I visited your church site. It was excellent. Well done for certain and I was pleased to read that your church holds to the Westminster Confession of Faith. We are truly like minded in doctrine! We hold to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith which is akin to the Westminster but is Baptistic in its view of baptism. Looks like a wonderful work and I rejoice with you that the body is reaching out into the surrounding areas and the whole world for that matter and bringing the Good News of Jesus to them.

Happy Easter Everyone!
I'm back from the camp and we had a very relaxing time! It was very nice to do absolutely nothing! We laid in the sun on Friday and needless to say we got our first sunburns of the season! We were so burnt that we didn't go out to the beach yesterday!! That was bad! I hate when we do that but the weather was so nice we didn't feel like we were getting burnt cause it wasn't hot!!! Get my drift?!?
I did really well with my eating! I think the scale will be in the 250s tomorrow - which will make me very happy! I'm already fitting in clothes that I had in my closet from last summer that didn't fit me a month ago.
Well, just wanted to check in...hope you all have been doing good! I'll catch up on the posts later!!
Bye!
