Hi everyone,
Sounds like we are all in the same boat with the TOM, I dread it and so does my family LOL. I just seem to feel everything much more intensely and react the same way. I have decided to see a chiropractor for my headaches. My first visit was Fri and she said my back was so tight she could not even crack it or I would be so sore I would never come back. She was able to do my neck and I guess the muscles are really tight and I just need to loosen up! What words of wisdom, considering I am a ball of anxiety. I do feel positive about it and I think it will help me.
How did the weighin go Jennifa? Sometimes I feel like I been doing so good but the scale takes a while to catch up. Hope you got good results.
I went to the womens expo last week, it was pretty nice. They had a ton of different things like hair salons, make up, baskets, jewelry etc. If was a day of fun. We all need those once in a while. The down side was it is held downtown and of course there is no parking, so after driving around for 20 minutes I finally was able to get a spot. The news media here is always going on about how nobody wants to do anything downtown, but the parking is enough to keep you home. Even if you do find a spot, it costs $1.15 a half hour. Give me the suburbs and the malls LOL. Oh I did win a free month to a yoga place, it is a $150.00 value yea!
Have a relaxing day.

Hi MyGirl and Daytona,
How are you doing? Has anybody heard from Janney lately? Hope she is ok.
I haven't gone to a weigh-in. This lack of exercise business has got to go. It has been really nice here, 60-70 degrees, and I think I am going to have to start jogging in the mornings. I am doing a fair job of staying OP. I just let myself have wine if I really want it once or twice a week. Bad for weight loss, great for sanity!
I was going to have a weigh-in tomorrow but my ND cancelled so I have to reschedule, maybe Monday or Tuesday. I'll post it then.

daytona,
what a good idea going to see a chiropractor keep it up!
I used to see one last year and she worked wonders for me! I really need to be more regular about going...it really does help - she had told me that the anxiety tenses up all our muscles and skeletal sysytem..one thing I hadn't realized was that I was walking around with my jaw clenched most of the time!
jennifa,
nice to hear from you - hang in there about the weight your perserverance will pay off.
I haven't heard from janney either - I too hope you are doing well.

Hi everyone,
Mygirl, thanks for the encouragement on the chiro, it helps to know they can help you. So many people have nothing but bad things to say about them. I am feeling the difference already. I to hold my jaw very tight plus I have tmj along with the muscle issues. She told me I had to improve my posture, do you know how hard that is after 46 years of slouching??? I am trying and she also said to cut down on the diet coke, it robs your bones of calcium. How's the gym going? Are you on spring break now? You teachers are too lucky LOL.
Jennifa, you are so lucky to have nice weather, we are still in the 30 - 40 range around here. Maybe morning jogs would be good, it helps clear your head and get you ready for the day. I am not a joging type, walking is more for me but I do like to walk in the morning it is so much more peaceful.
Well tomorrow is Easter and I am going to try and not over indulge LOL. I always fall off the wagon on holidays especially, but I am going to walk everyday this weekend for damage control.
I got a message from Janney saying she wasn't going to be posting for a while, she is just not feeling up to it. I sure hope she posts again soon, I miss her.
Happy Easter to all of you,
Daytona

hi daytona,
Happy Easter to you too! I indulged a bit too much not enough walking or going to the gym - I have slackened off big time! I plan to keep my gym clothes in my car that way wherever I am I can always just drop in to the gym NO EXCUSES! :^:
I'm on a short break - thank goodness! I need it - and yes I know we are lucky. :)
It's been 3 months now that I have given up coffee - I feel better for it but some days I still get headaches! I allow myself the occasional coffee but usually only on weekends and early in the day that way the caffeine doesn't affect me too much.
Talk to you all soon,

Hello, everyone! I just posted on the fibromyalgia board and happened to notice this one. About a year after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I started having panic attacks. It took another year or so before I was willing to admit that I needed help with them. I was then diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and given Buspar and Xanax. I am doing better now, but anxiety is still very much a part of my life. With all of the different meds I take, weight loss has been very difficult. I plan to re-join WW this week.

Hi Meshell and welcome!
nice to have you on board (excuse the pun) :) wow you certain;y have a double whammy with he fybromyalgia and the anxiety sorry to hear that - but at least you have taken the first major step of recognizing and acknowledging the panic disorder (personally, I hate that term).
Hope you continue to get better much sooner - post whenever you like.

Hi everyone,
I am so impressed with you giving up coffee for three months already!! I am supposed to be way cutting down on my diet cokes, but I havn't been able to do it yet. My chiro. told me your body can't handle calcium and phosphate (sp) in soda at the same time and it drains the calcium from your bones. I have to watch out for ostoprosis. I am working on it, what helped you? Another term I hate to hear is chronic LOL. I just want a pill and take it and in a few days the problems are gone. Remember the good old childhood illiness? Seemed like a shot of penicillin always cured what ailed me.
Welcome mdeyoung, my best friend has fibro and has flare ups off and on. She also deals with anxiety and depression problems. She says exercise (yoga) helps and we try and walk each day. Last year about this time my anxiety was in full swing so my Dr put me on Buspar, and it helped me soo much! I had to keep taking it for 3 months but it was worth it. I had no real side effects except up set stomach the first couple weeks taking it.
How are you doing Jennifa?
Have a relaxing day,

Daytona,
I am on Buspar as well. After several weeks, I didn't FEEL any difference, so I told my husband I was thinking about going off of it. LOL....the poor guy panicked. He told me that the medication was making a huge difference, and that it was very obvious to him and the children, even if I didn't notice the difference. So, I stayed on it. The doctor also prescribed Xanax for breakthrough attacks.

Hi everyone,
I can't believe how long it's been since I posted, where does the time go? I too have been feeling better and been more active. My anxiety has been trying to get the better of me this past week. I think the problem is you forget to stay on top of the things that made you feel better to start with. It's like getting passive about it then wow am I surprised when it comes back! I will take better care of myself and you guys do the same. I am still exercising 3 times a week at curves and walking most days. My weight is all the happier for it. I have also started a new quilt project, it's called grandmas flower garden. It will take a long time to complete.
How is everyone else doing? Jennifa, are you still following the new way of eating? Are you getting good results? Mygirl what type of diet are you starting? Gobbie it's been ages since you posted, hope all is well with you. Hi to you to Janney and I sure hope things are going better for you by now.
Well it is off to exercise.
Have a good day.

HI all,
I am sorry I haven't posted. I have been really really busy. I am still on the WOE and it seems to be working, but VERY slowly, so no major stuff to report here. Anxiety has not been good and I'm not happy about it. ND seems to think a hormone imbalance / severe PMS is aggravating everything. Also have had problems getting to the site. They changed it so you have to find the bookmark to get to the forums.
Hope you are all well.

Hello everyone. Thought I'd take a moment and post. Been reading but not posting. Figured I was complaining too much and didn't want to be a downer on the group. Still am having problems with the panic and depression. Decided that I needed to try to help myself somewhat and joined Weight Watchers. Have been trying to exercise every other day. Been going out for walks on my breaks at work. Normally walk about 1 1/2 miles.
Went over stuff with the therapist. Was almost hospitalized but I refused. Figure I can work it out at home. Anyway, didn't want the stigma at work for being in a pshyc hospital. Amazing how many people still don't understand about panic/depression/other mental illnesses. They think you're just nuts or a baby and should lace up the boot strings and get going. Don't understand about chemical inbalances and stuff.
Daytona hope all is well with you. Mygirl, same thing. How is Jennifa doing? Mechell, welcome aboard. These are a great group of people. Very supportive. Couldn't have made it without them. Keep posting. It does help.
Well off for now. Praying for calm days for everyone. God bless you all.

hey everyone!
I have been away from my computer and home for a while - took a bit of a break from everything for a few days and I feel all the better for it!
Janney
sorry to hear you're feeling down - stick with your therapist and work thru it trust me I have been there and even though at the time things may seem overwhelming, you ARE in fact making great progress. I found that I didn't reap the benefits of my efforts until much later - and the rewards are many! I agree with your comment about ppl not understanding - they can be so hurtful these ppl usually have no idea of what it really means to be suffering from any illness.
My simple advice - surround yourself as much as you can with GOOD people and by this I mean sincere, trustworthy and supportive friends and colleagues and your world and environment will be a better place - they will be your source of inspiration and comfort when you just need to be heard. :^:
Daytona
How are you ? I am still contemplating this diet - it's an all fruit & veg detox the first few days and then pretty much low fat food...I'll let you know how I go!
Jennifa
you go girl with the exercise and eating program!

HI everybody,
Janney, it is great to hear from you. Hang in there. Other people do understand; it's just sometimes hard to find them. If you need the hospital time, nobody has to know the reason why. Check out www.nami.org and find the stigma busters site, it might help you. I know it's horrible to have a stigma about your own problems!!! I struggle with that, too, but you also need to know when it's time to let others take care of you for a while. Don't be ashamed. It isn't your fault and the people at work who have to know about it have rules about who they can tell and why. Basically only people who need to know get told. If you really feel scared about it, call your HR department or get a friend to call anonymously and ask some questions about it.
MyGirl, so good to hear your typing!!! You are going to feel great after that detox. Expect a headache but it will go away soon and then you'll feel like you broke through a wall. Good luck!
Everybody else, hope you'll forgive me for not writing to everybody but I am in a lot of pain (TOM) and can't really focus very well tonight.
I don't know that the plan is going so great for me. The cravings are just as bad as ever and I haven't lost anything really. A coworker told me that if anybody else has tried what I have they would look great by now. Something is definitely not right and I am really frustrated with all these doctors. I know I should just be happy with being healthy but I don't like being 50 pounds heavier than I was for years without even trying to stay thin. The PMS is horrible, I can't eat when I have my period and the painkillers make me sick to my stomach. Thank God for mineral water. Actually, thank God for the many many blessings I have in my life!!
So I am grumpy today but I thought I'd check in anyway. Hope you all hang in there and have a string of good days. You deserve it.

Hi everyone,
Jennifa, my friend is doing a diet called lean for life. She has not been able to lose on any type of diet in the past 5 years. She would drop a pound or two and back on it came the next week. If you are intrested check out under diet plans on this site they have a few people following it and there is a web site www.leanforlife.com for the program. It is a protien and very low carb diet. My friend has lost 5 pounds the first week, 4 the second and a pound or two each week there after. She also has firobmylagia and depression. Hope this helps. She said it even made PMS a lot easier to take.
Janney, glad to hear from you. Jennifa is right, only certian people have to know about the hospital if you need to go in for a few days or so take care of yourself and don't let the narrow minded people keep you from doing what it takes to get you better! We all understand here so don't feel alone! You will feel better, some days are worse than others so never give up.
Mygirl, are you getting ready for school to be done? Any plans for the summer?
Have a great day!

hi everyone!
long time no type :) I have been busy busy busy!
I have been generally quite ok only a bit of depersonalization and an almost panic attack last week I suppose when I am stressed it happens more - I also read something interesting on Oprah's website about "energy vampires" ie; people who drain you either emotionally, spiritually etc and I thought to myself yep that's absolutely right - there are a few people I know who drain every last bit of energy out of me when I speak to them, no matter whether it's in person or on the phone it's the same! :^:
I'll post more about this next time.
It's good to hear your news janney, jennifa and daytona
