Well, at last we are out of the deepfreeze. Yesterday was nice, but today is nicer. Still below 32 but not so much. At least it isn't 32 below:lol:
Joanne - 70 is cool? my goodness when it gets warmer than that I start to really feel the heat and I find 70 almost perfect. I am glad you were ok, but I just hadn't seen a post for a little while and was hoping you weren't sick. That RAID is terrible stuff.
Candice - Yes GRAVOL? You know the stuff for motion sickness. It all has to do with the inner ear and gravol removes the fluid. It is what the Dr. recommended and I couldn't believe it, but hey, it worked and I have never had it again and I never want it again. It was a direct reaction to that spray.
Ally - Glad you made it back save and sound. A nice clean carpet is good. They sometimes take a beating with kids around, that is for sure. Did you have fun at the wedding?
Mima - Where have you gone? Geewhiz, one comes back, one leaves - hard to keep track of all of you.
Hope Meme is having a good time.
Shoes - I were Nike Air, Clarkes and my last pair were ECHO'S and I love them. I have given up on heels, but when I must, I have a pair of easyspirit that I can were all day. They just don't go with my outfit usually anymore:lol: I am usually wearing pants.
Well, had a good day yesterday. My cousin took me out for lunch, and then our husbands decided tojoin us, so it was really nice. Had company last night. Today, I am off to a baby shower, so I had better hustle. Just wanted to say hi.

Well...I'm not really...kind of but NOT! Having fun that is!!! It is really cold up here and supposed to snow 2-4 inches tonight in Ohio. We will have to drive through that tomorrow. We are leaving about 7 or 8 in the morning. We drove up on Friday and visited with hubby's Uncle and cousin. Then Saturday we went back over there for lunch (you never saw as much food in your life, every one of his cousins brought food over there). He had a nice visit with cousins he hadn't seen in over 20 years. Then last night we had dinner with some friends we hadn't seen in a long time. One couple we hadn't seen in about 24 years. Today we went to church (the church that we met in!!!). We went out to eat with old friends and then back to our hotel and rested for a couple of hours and then back to church tonight. They asked me this morning if I would come back and sing tonight. Then we went out with friends and had pizza. Yes...it was fun but...no it wasn't! I am soooooo tired!!! And I have that long trip back tomorrow to look forward to...NOT!
I've told you all about my daughter-in-law...But you will NEVER believe what she did tonight! She called me ON MY CELL PHONE...600 MILES AWAY (and I don't have nation wide calling) to ask me if I was going to get home in time to pick her son up at school tomorrow at 3 because she had a meeting!!!!!!! And me in Michigan and having to drive home tomorrow!!!!!!! Beats all! We won't get home tomorrow until at least 7 p.m. I told hubby I should have told her that I was hoping SHE could go pick up my dog from the boarders so I wouldn't have to go get her on Tuesday!!! HA (She doesn't like my dog!!!)
If I've made any mistakes just overlook them...I'm too tired to go back and read all this and I'm typing on my laptop...not used to it and it's harder to type...(plus...my nails are too long!!!

I'm home...thank goodness. We ran into 3 inches of snow in Ohio yesterday and it took us 12 hrs. just to get home...and that was nearly all driving time. We stopped at a couple of rest areas and then ate at Burger King so we wouldn't waste any time. I'm hurting soooo bad today. I'm sick, too. I've got a terrible cold and it has gone into my chest. I can barely whisper and have a bad cough. It is raining here and I'm hurting all over. I'm just glad to be home. I went to bed before 10 last night and didn't get up until 7. I've cancelled all my lessons today. They pulled Ross out of Stay-And-Play in the mornings so that all he has to contend with is Kindergarten so now I have him from 7 to 10:30, then I have to take him to school at 10:45 and go back and get him at 3 and keep him 'till 6. I just didn't feel like doing all that and teaching from 12 to 3 and then from 5 to 7 tonight. TOO MUCH!!! Plus, I have to go pick Sammy up from the vets and go to the store. All this in the rain! When all I really want to do is go to bed!!! NO MORE TRIPS UNTIL MAY!

At last, Spring has found it's way to Alberta. We are now in the midst of a meltdown, puddles everywhere, and it is so wonderful - messy, but wonderful. Still lots of snow, but that's ok. Hope the rest of you are having a beautiful day. It was about 40 above today. Joanne will think we are freezing, but trust me, this feels like a heatwave:lol:
Well Candice - did you just give up? Hope you are feeling somewhat better.
Meme - I am so glad you made it home safely. Now, you really have to do something about this babysitting. It is to hard for you when you are in pain, and I think your family should realize that. I know you love those kids like your own, but remember, they are your childrens kids and ultimately, their responsibility. I am sure they could find another reliable caregiver in the area. You are just making yourself sicker by continuing, and I think you should have a life - as pain free as you can.
Mima - Nice to keep busy. Time flys when your having fun.
Joanne - Hi. Hope you are soaking up some nice warm weather.
Ally - Hi. Rugs still clean? Now tell me how the bluestuff worked for you, now that you have been using it for a while.
Easter is upon us soon. I am having 20+ for dinner on Sunday. I hope the weather remains nice. Have to go find a turkey on Thursday and get some groceries. I did manage to get my haircut today.

Happy...Did I miss your birthday? If so, I hope you had a good day. You deserve it. How are YOU feeling, by the way? Do you still have pain from the accident? The Bluestuff is back on a little table in my bedroom. I used it at the wedding for sore sore feet. It worked!!!! I have not had a lot of muscle pain this year (knock on wood).
Meme....I loved your story about your daughter-in-law. I feel like e-mailing her and telling her that she should kiss the ground you walk on. She is so lucky to have you.
Mima...how are those wedding plans going?
Joanne..where are you???
The wedding I went to was extravagent. I had on my painful $5 Walmart black pumps. I could never ever wear cheap shoes, don't know why I would think I can wear them now when I'm old. My cousin's daughter looked like a Barbie doll.....but get this, all her bridesmaids were just gorgeous..thin and blonde. And my cousin told me that all of them have had some kind of plastic surgery. They are all under 30. Amazing. One had had a tummy tuck....and she had never had children.
I have been so hungry lately. We are still having winter. Happy, I hope your thaw in Canada comes to NY. I have got to stop this carb eating!!

Ally..I could never where cheap shoes either and still can't and now I am having some foot pain (haven't ahd it in awhile) and need some new shoes for dress just incase...(I never go anywhere that I have to wear dressy clothes for too much trouble to get al gussied up!
Joanne.....you be careful with that raid....al chemicals bother me and it was a permanet magic marker I was using when teaching prescholl that set my dizzyness off years ago I think but the doc didn't know....they don't know much I am concluding!
Mima....glad you enjoy Brad's company.........after all you are gonna see alot of him!:

Hi Folks...
Happy...70 is nice but you got to know that down here in the south our blood is thinner than yours. I wish that was true with the body as well:lol: It is really warm today. We have had the air on for the last week.
Candice ..It was my hubby that got sick with the raid.. I think he was also having some allergy problems. Everything is shedding and the oaks are blooming.
Ally.. I am here. My daughter was visiting for a few days. She was on the computer more than I . Her son is on the Harry S Truman. ( It is the newest and biggest air craft carrier in the world)I am with you when It comes to cheap shoes. When your feet hurt ,you hurt all over. The shoes are the one thing I don't mind spending money on. I will make all my own clothes though. I refuse to give up the high prices of clothes.
Meme..I agree with Happy. You do too much. Believe me you won't go to H--- if you learn to say NO. You will be a lot happier in the long run. Your family will not suffer. They will find ways to cope with their problems just as you did when they were small.
Mima.. I know how busy you must be.. How much your life has and will change..Enjoy it..
My hubby is Greek so we have decided to celebrate the orthadox easter this year.. We will go to church as usual this sunday but have a big meal on May 5(greek easter)Roast Lamb and potatoes with all the extras. We are trying to lose weight anyhow. My son said he didn't want to do anything either. He said he was too busy.. He is a design Arch. He designs some really beautiful homes and buildings. I wish he would take the time to find himself a wife. I want another G/child.

Hello all. i am back at my second home soon to be first. i walked in to use my computer and brad had put our pj's in a compromising position!!!I laughed so hard. The plans are great-I finally bought a dress but i had to get cream. It's a 2 piece with a jacket and pearl and embroidery trim-8 petite that they have to order. I have to get some shoes-had blood test. next week we'll get the license and the rings. i saw one that was 3x all the others so that decision is not final. We have to arrange the restaurant also. It's working good. I'm back to work on the house and i brought a bunch of stuff with me-so that's what i'll do each week. went to yoga-loved it, Gotta be careful of my ribs. it's still cool here. i miss the warm FL weather. Mima...the pjs are just too funny! I'm glad your Brad has a sense of humor...I couldn't stand to live with a man who didn't!!!
Your dress sounds lovely! You will have to take pictures and send them to me...I'll resize them and share on the message board!
About shoes...I have so much trouble with finding comfortable shoes. I drive everybody else crazy so I try to go shoe shopping alone!!! My hubby tells everyone that I can't stand for a shoe to touch my foot! One time he told someone that and I said, well...I hurt everywhere else so I don't see any sense in letting a pair of shoes cause my feet to hurt, too! I like Easy Spirits best but they are really expensive. I bought a pair of black Hush Puppy heels a couple of months ago that I could wear all day so it just depends on the shoe. I need soft uppers with lots of padding on the inside and a flexible sole! (Not too picky, huh?) :p Hubby's uncle that we went to see in MI sells Knapp shoes...he had a catalog that had a pair of black flats that looked heavenly! They were soft uppers and coushioned insoles with flexible bottoms....$45! I ordered a pair...hope I don't have to send them back!
Now...about my kids. I feel like I HAVE to do all I can for Ross...he is really having a tough time right now and seems to respond better to me than to anyone else. I am the only one who can keep him all day without some kind of traumatic situation! I know I'm sick, and I know I'm really not physically able to do all that I do...but...somehow...I don't think I will ever regret doing it...but I might regret it if I don't!

I spend between 100 and 150 for my shoes and they still hur my feet..they can't be tight at all and they can't be too loose and they have to have lots of toe room and soft cushion on the bottom and good arch support and flat no heals at all! So I wear Birkenstock or Sas Walking shoe or my New BAlance and that is about it but I need somethihg better for dress now, Anyone try Auditions, my mom liked those.
Meme...did you get to see opra yeaterday on kids learning in the classroom.....I sent you an email to her page. I thought of ross as they talked about stuff.
Check out your age..how long you wwill live:) me..92
Mima- Your dress sounds like it is really nice.. Make sure your shoes are comfortable.. You will be in them all day..Unless you are like me..
Meme.. You have to do what makes you happy. Just don't get sick.
Hello Happy ,Candice, Ally...Joanne
Happy Canuk
03-28-2002, 03:48 PM
here are some jokes for you first off
Kids
#1. POLICE
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I
was
interrupted by a little girl about six years old. Looking up and
down
at
my uniform, she asked, "Are you a cop?" "Yes," I answered and
continued
writing the report. "My mother said if I ever needed help I should
ask
the police. Is that right?" "Yes, that's right," I told her. "Well,
then," she said as she extended her foot toward me, "would you
please
tie my shoe?"
#2. K-9
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of
the
station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was
barking,
and
I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back
there?"
he
asked. "It sure is," I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and
then
towards the back of the van. Finally he said, "What'd he do?"
#3. ELDERLY
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly
shut-ins, I used to take my four-year-old daughter on my afternoon
rounds.
She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age,
particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs. One day I found her
staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced
myself
for
the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and
whispered,
"The
tooth fairy will never believe this!"
#4. DRESS-UP
A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she
saw
her
dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, "Daddy, you shouldn't wear that
suit."
"And why not, darling?" "You know that it always gives you a
headache
next
morning."
#5. DEATH
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our
minister
heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt.
Apparently, his five-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead
robin.
Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a
small
box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the
disposal
of
the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate
prayers
and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his
father
always said: "Glory be unto the Faaaather and unto the Soonnn and
into
the
hole he gooooes."
#6. SCHOOL
A little girl had just finished her first week of school. "I'm not
going
to
school anymore, I'm just wasting my time," she said to her mother.
"I
can't read, I can't write and they won't let me talk!"
#7. BIBLE
A little boy opened the big family bible. He was fascinated as he
fingered
through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He
picked
up the object and looked at it. What he saw was an old leaf that had
been dried, "hey mom I found adams fig leaf"
Now, Meme, you have to do what you believe is right for yourself and your grandson. I agree with that; but that is more than enough for you to handle. I know you love them all, but keep Ross and let the others find responsible day care for them. Whatever, I just hope you feel better soon. Did you get the Bluestuff yet? Does it work for you as well?
Candice - My last pair of shoes, my ecco's cost me $165.00; however, they have a wide toebox and a narrow heel, so I can keep them on. I have a narrow foot and it isn't that easy to find shoes in this city. Most everyone carries medium width and they are just to wide and sloppy. I have had my easyspirit dress shoes for years. They have a 11/2 inch heel and I can wear them for the day if I must. Since I started staying home 6 years ago, my foot has changed somewhat. My cousins wears those Birkenstock things. I absolutely hate them. They are so uncomfortable to me. I prefer Clarks sandles and shoes. They are made in England and pretty comfortable. However, if you can ever find shoes made in Spain or Brazil, the leather in incredibly soft. Enough about shoes!!! I hope you are feeling better now.
Ally - shoes are covered above:lol: The wedding sounds kind of 'snobbish' I guess is the word I would use. Hope you enjoyed it, however. Don't be dissatified with what you have! Quite often people who seem to have everything, lack some of the more important nonmaterial goods - like happiness, love of self or anyone else (they do tend to love money above all).
Mima - glad you are getting everything together. I will never be size 8. I used to wear a 12 and that was great for me. When I got down to a 10, I had a terrible time finding any clothes to wear. I would, however, like to get back to my size 12. Your dress sounds so pretty. Please have some pictures taken and then send them to Meme, so we can all see them.
Joanne - Hi. Hope your day is going well and that you are enjoying your nice warm weather. I am enjoying mine. It is going to be 50 by the afternoon. Next week it will be time to get out the deck chairs and sit outside. Can't wait.
Well, have a wonderful Easter, in case I don't get on here to much until next Monday. Have a busy few days ahead of me. My daughter and grand daughter are coming tomorrow, and my son on Saturday, and then 20 others for Easter Dinner on Sunday. By Monday, I may not have the strength to get on here

Anne...you know you couldn't stay away more than 3 days if you had to drag yourself to the puter!!! Cute jokes...I liked the one about the bird burial best! Bet Candice had a living fit when she saw how long that post was!
Candice...didn't get to see Oprah yesterday and I haven't had time to go to the site yet. I could use a few 36 hr. days!!!
I got the blue stuff last week and it works pretty good. I don't think it works quite as well as it seems to for Ally but I'm pleased with it. Last night I took a shower and was hurting all over. I put some on my neck and shoulders, left arm, knees and both feet. I said at this rate I won't have any left in a couple of weeks!:p And I don't think it smells bad at all! As a matter of fact, I kind of like the smell.
Gotta go deliver some Avon! Hey...none of you ever bought any Avon from me...shame on you!!! :o

If that blue stuff smells at all it will make me sick..the biofreeze they gave me is hard enough to tolorate..I have that Chemical sensitivity ya know!
I hurt....been up 32 hours staight...anxiety is back big time..just came out of the blue! I washed all day yesterday(my son moved to another place and sent all his laundry home that he was leaving behind at my other sons! Then I stripped all the beds here and did the pillows too and cleaned the bathroom. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so I would like to work outside but I may be sleeping! Oh I sorted through some paper work too..........still so much junk here! I think I will bulldoze the place

I have some clark's shoes that i love-no heel, open in back. Went to church last night-I took communion even though i'm Catholic and had a dream that the church gave me this paper with the list of rules on it. oh yeah-it was the baptist churc. we go to both-sat night we are going to the vigil and sun to the Baptist. And we love it-that's the base of our relationship-of course among other things-can't lie. i feel lazy today-the girl is moving in downstairs and I cleaned yesterday-for an hour. brad is working-he has a lot more stamina that i do.Going to look for bedroom curtains for a diversion today. Happy- Pretty Good Jokes! It is supposed to go to 80 today... The sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful days for the Holiday. We are doing things very quiet for Easter.
Mima.. I have a lot of Good thoughts for you. My hubby and I are Greek orthodax .We go to the Methodist church. We are enjoying it. It took me 48 years to get him to go to church with me. We went to the Greek church for special occasions when his family was alive only. It is much different now.
Ally-Candice- Meme-Sass shoes are good as well as Natulizers, Hush puppy's and ofcourse my New Balance. Most shoes hurt my feet. I have a lot of arthritis in them. These brands are about the only ones that I have found that don't hurt as much.
My son just told me that he has got tickets for me and my sister to go to Arizona for 2 weeks in Oct. We will just pay him back. This should be interesting. My Hubby has never been on his own that long.My son should have a fun time taking care of him!!!Boy will his eyes open up!!!My brother lives out there.I have never been there. I am looking forward to going..
HAVE A WONDERFUL EASTER YOU ALL...Joanne:wave:

How come the anxiety is back, bigtime. You were doing so well with that. In fact, you seemed to be doing better than last year, with everything but your arm. My goodness, I hope things improve for you BIGTIME.
Cleaning the house today - getting ready. My back hurts today. Baked three kinds of cookies yesterday and some muffins. To much standing. Don't know what is going tohappen by the time Easter gets here; if the old back is tired now, not a hope that Sunday will be a nice day for me:(

Hi Guys. Both my boys who will be 17 next month told me that I didn't need to do an Easter Basket this year. What? And risk that I won't invade theirs? Plus, I put them together today and have already eaten three peanut butter eggs and some kisses.
Naughty naughty.
I always put underwear in their basket...it is our little joke. My son came home today and said that there was no clean laundry......duh. He didn't do any. So he got his undies early.
I am going to an Easter Brunch with friends tomorrow. Both my kids are working.
Hope everyone has a nice holiday.

Joanne..hello..never did get my jeans fixed!
My anxiety if back right now just came this week and I can't figure out what causes it..I am not worried about anything at the moment!LOL I just wake up with a headache and a tightness in my neck and jaw(I think that is what cuases the headache)..Kinda like to much caffine..but I don't do caffeine or too much sugar..cause I know these things wil trigger it. Got any ideas??????? The only thing that helps is to keep physically busy..cooking, cleaning or gardening and just keeps my mind off it, when I am done with these things and sit down to rest it is still there! I hate this feeling...makes me jumpy and irritable too! happens every spring..wonder if it is an allergy of some kind?????????? I heard that some docs are using botox injected into the neck muslces for this type of headache....did you hear about this too? What kind of doc does this?

We had a nice Easter cookout. My sister and her friend came over as well as my son. I will do Greek Easter(orthodox) with My youngest sister and her hubby and daughter and G/child and my son. I am not sure which one will be more tiring. It will probably br equal. I was exhausted last night.
Mima.. We have a small place in our back yard that my hubby has often said we could fix up and have as a rental.. I always said no. I just suspected it would be more trouble than I wanted. I am glad now that we didn't do it... I like my quiet.
Candice.. It is good you can't take Kava Kava. .St John's Wort.. They have some bad side effects. You never fixed those jeans??

Ohhhh....I have the worse migraine. Just started a couple of hours ago and getting worse by the minute! I have two little boys (5 & 6) and have to teach piano tonight. I missed last week because of my trip to MI so I can't cancel. I got this great pair of shoes, navy blue, right before my trip (I think I told you all about them)...they are sooo comfortable. I can wear them all day long. They have 1 1/2 inch heels and are sling backs. I made myself go by the mall before I picked the boys up from school to see if they had a pair of black ones in my size and they did. I bought them but the only thing I hate about it is while the blue ones have all leather uppers the black ones are half leather and half suede so I won't be able to wear them in wet weather. The thing I love about both pair is I can wear them with a skirt or pants either one...they are perfect!
I used to have a neighbor that bugged me to death...every day she was at my house when hubby came home from work. This was when my kids were younger. She would bring her 2 little girls over to "play" because we had a big fenced in back yard. Then she would sit in the kitchen and bug me...talk...talk...talk. She borrowed stuff from me at least 2 or 3 times a week. I tried really hard to be nice but one day my dog bit her little girl because she pushed my son off the porch (both her kids were mean!) The little girl came in crying and she said that I needed to keep that dog in a pen when the kids were playing. I told her (none too nicely) "No" that that was one reason we fenced the yard, so my kids could play outside with their dog. So she said if the dog was out she wouldn't bring her girls over anymore...I said, "Good...the dog stays out!" So...the moral of the story is...Mima...maybe you should get a dog!
