Hey ladies...

Hope I got the date right...

Today I am watching my gf's girls so she can go on an interview for a teaching position. They will play with my kiddos, probably go on the slip-n-slide again today. My kids love that thing. I'm half tempted to go on it myself, but most likely I would hurt something & not be able to walk for three days...

Other than that, just need to get to the food store sometime today...running out of everything.

Okay, hope everyone has a good day...gotta hop in the shower before the kids arrive. Talk later chicas!!

07-16-2008, 09:27 AM
Mornin' All! :coffee:

Pam, what kind of teaching position? Did I know you were a teacher??

Hey everyone, I'm going to try and not be anal about it, because there's no reason to, but you can post your replies to the previous day's thread on the new day! :D That way everyone makes it here, and the older thread isn't sitting around too long. Does that make sense? Am I being too OCD about it? :lol3: Just take me down a notch if I am.

Now, I'm off to read and take notes and hopefully get back here to reply, because there's a lot of posts from yesterday.

Oh, :welcome2: Yana!

07-16-2008, 09:50 AM
Good morning all! We packed up for our camping weekend last night...most of it is already in the car as my husband is anal about his schedule, the way things fit etc... I worked my butt off getting it all ready yesterday. I did the elliptical last night and it felt pretty good. I now need to get my workout in for the day. I posted a bio on the bio thread...It was interesting to read up on some of you that have posted.

Sunshine- I noticed that in your bio you know a lot about tattoos. I have two on my upper thigh and want to get another one. My question is...my kids had their footprints done at the hospital. Is there a way to transfer or copy those so I can get their footprints done as a tattoo? I want something for them and I thought that might be the most personal...

I hope you guys have a great day. I will check in later! -Erin

Good Morning everyone,

I hope it's ok for me to join the daily chat thread. I went out yesterday and bought my new gas grill at Target. The guy that helped me said something about minimal assembly. Yeah right! There are something like 14 steps in the instruction manual- I know what my afternoon is going to be like! Does anyone else remember the old Bewitched shows? Remember how Samantha would just wiggle her nose and the job would be done? This is a frequent fantasy of mine- assemble grill- tinkle, tinkle, tink- job done! Clean house- tinkle, tinkle, tink- you get the picture. Sigh.............

Wish me luck- I'm pretty handy most of the time so hopefully the finished product will not blow up my deck (and house).

Have a great day!

07-16-2008, 11:05 AM
Alicia, of course it's OK! This is where we do all our chatting anyway! :D LOL on the grill! Yes, wiggling your nose would be great. Wish I could do that with my house!

07-16-2008, 11:33 AM
Oh, Oh, Oh, add me to the Wanting to wiggle your nose and get everything done Dreamer.

Mornin' all. going to the gym in a bit, but w/o dh. He is helping his older bro move. So he'll go later on in the day. I want to get it done now, and not when it is extremely Hot out.

Hoping to do the elliptical again today... fingers crossed I can add a few more minutes on it before I fall off and melt into a puddle.

Well I need to get ready... chat with you all later...

07-16-2008, 11:42 AM
Morning All,
Welcome Alicia and Yana! This is a great group of people to chat with! Glad you joined us!
Well I went to my weigh in last night and stayed the same. I guess I should be happy about not gaining weight during that TOM. But it is a little discouraging because I watched what I ate and worked out every day so I wouldn't gain weight and would have a loss. Oh well, guess I will just have to try a little harder this coming week!
GG, glad you had a nice day at work yesterday. Hope you were able to get to the gym again this morning. Enjoy your day!
Pam, sounds like you have another busy day on tap. I had to laugh about trying out the slip and slide. I would probably be in the same boat as you. Hope you enjoy your visit with your gf's girls today. What kind of teaching job is she applying for? I wish her Good Luck!
Lauren, you crack me up! Your post was fine. It made a lot of sense. So don't worry about it! Enjoy your day at work!
Trish, sounds like you have been super busy here again this week. I know the feeling about no one in the family knowing how to do something. In my family it is taking out the trash. I seem to be the only one who can get the trash bag out of the kitchen garage can when it seems full and starts to over flow. But I make my dh take the big can to the road on trash night. I enjoy mowing the lawn, but like you the allergies kick in afterwards. Plus my knees hurt a little bit because part of the yard is sloped like.
Erin, so when do you leave for camping? Where are you going to camp at? Had to laugh about already being packed and loaded. Wish my dh was more of a planner. But no, I think he likes flying by the seat of his pants most of the time. I hope you get your workout in for the day. Mine will be mowing the yard once the grass drys.
Toni, had to laugh about your comment about mowing the lawn. Usually I am just too tired and worn out to even think about sex after mowing. Maybe that would explain about my dh though. LOL So how did the picture go yesterday?
Hi to everyone else. Need to go clean up the breakfast dishes. We went to the fair last night to see my nephew run in the demolation derby. We didn't get home until late. So I slept in this morning until 9:45. My stepsons spent the night. So we have a few extra dishes this morning.
Chat with you all later. Have a wonderful day!
Take care,

Christina S

Morning everyone!

Lauren, I have to agree, the post were getting confusing, lol.

Pam, you still doing the belly dancing?

Erin, I read over your BIO, didn't realize your baby was only 4 months. Have fun on your camping trip!

Alicia, my name is Alicia too, I am originally from VA...too funny. Oh yes it would be nice to wiggle the nose and get some stuff done around the house. Then I would really be lazy though.

PearFreak, hope you have a good workout today.

I have alot of stuff I want to get done, I made myself a list, its 3(small pages) ugh. I've been thinking about hiring someone to do stuff around the house. DD spent the night with a friend so I don't know how much I'll get done with DS. He's a homebody and he doesnt like to go out and run errands. I usually have to bribe him, lol.

Okay all, hope everyone has a good one! I'll check back later!

Christinia and kerry, we were all posting at the same time. Hope you have a great day!

07-16-2008, 12:58 PM
Christina, I forget, are you a nurse, or do you work in the office? Have fun with all those babies! The jury is still out on the meds. I've been taking Adderall 15 mg. for 2 days and I don't think it's doing much more than the 10 mg...which wasn't doing anything either. I think I have slightly more energy or something, but I don't feel like it's helping me focus. My house is still a mess, so is my cubicle.

07-16-2008, 01:15 PM
Dropping in for a quick hi. I started mowing the lawn again. I was out there for 40 minutes until I ran out of gas. So that was a good enough excuse to come in and cool off. Plus get something to drink. I am hoping that I only have about another 45 minutes to 60 minutes out there to finish. But atleast I am getting in a good sweaty workout.
Christina, sounds like you had fun with your family. Hope the work isn't too piled up when you go into work today. Hope you don't have to go in on the weekend. That would stink! Have a great day!
Alicia, hope you are able to get your list done with your ds. Have a great day!
Lauren, don't worry my house looks like a mess right now too. I think I will be working on laundry and cleaning house tomorrow.
Hi to everyone else. My break time is up. Chat with you all later.

07-16-2008, 01:17 PM
Morning, everyone!

Everyone seems to be doing well today. Good deal! :D

Alright, i need a kick in the pants: it's one of my full lunches this week (i take half-lunches the rest of the days, to make up for the "summer hours" we have here at work), and i reeeeeeeally don't feel like going to the gym. But i should. But i don't wanna. *pouting, whining, etc*

Oh, and Pear or Polly (i can't remember which): i totally know what you mean about being excited about getting your 3FC signature - i'm waiting for it with an anticipation i never thought i'd have for a little ticker. Heh.

alicia: hey you!...ive missed you...between my busy schedule and your busy working schedule i havent seen you (well read how you were doing)...hope all is well...great job with the list...i am a personal believer that if you have a list the things get done...writing the list is an issue for me

lauren: ha ha...well keep working with the meds...you'll find something...and when you do your house will be spotless and your cubicle will be too!...are you losing weight more rapidly since you started all this?...i thought i heard these meds tend to make you lose weight....also, if that is true what happens if you stop taking the meds...do you gain it back or can you keep it off with good diet .... just wondering you may not know...i am not a nurse...however, if i am the closest one around and they need help with a birth i will assist..its cool...i actually am the administrator...under the owner and above the nursing and front office managers...but i also do the billing...so im a busy gal....

have a great one!

'ola Chickies!

Welcome to all newbies!!! It's great to meet new people. There are some wonderful, supportive ladies here ~ we lost our dudes that used to come around:(. Probably got tired of us yapping about MEN and TOM lol!

We got home from the in-laws last night and I ate so bad!! I even got up extra early Saturday morning to get my workout. I eat much better on the days when I take the time to haul my buns out of bed to exercise. So, I did do fine on Saturday but not Sunday - Tuesday. Sigh... Oh well, back in the saddle today and I've already exercised and eaten a good breakfast. I did nothing for the past few days other than read and relax by the pool. We stayed at their home the entire time. It was a great time for the kiddies.

Hope that everyone is well and have a HAPPY HUMP DAY (giggle, giggle:).

07-16-2008, 02:30 PM
Pam ~ where do I find this meatball mix in the grocery store? I've never made them before. What section would it be in?

Lauren ~ how are you liking your Nano? DH gave me one for Christmas two years ago (hot pink:) and I LOVE it.

Alicia ~ You want to hire someone to work around the house doing what; laundry, cleaning, cooking? All of the above? I hope that you're able to find someone good.

Gotta go rustle up some lunch for the kids ~ Joan

Lauren, I have to tell the funniest story about Spencer when they first put him on the Adderall. He woke up, one of the first mornings, made his and his sisters lunch and cleaned the house, came woke me up at 3am and said everythings ready lets go to school. LOL. It was good in that respect, but man it made him *so sick*.

Joan, glad you had a good time. Sometimes it's nice to do nothing on vacation. No, I don't need anyone to cook and clean. More like paint and do outside work. The gutters need to be done and the house needs to be power washed. Just a thought though, don't know if I'll find anyone I can trust. OH and I've seen the meatball mix, they usually separate the 3 meats in the package and each meat will vary in color.

Christina, I don't think I could assist in a birth, sounds like you do it all around the office. Good to see you to, I know we always miss each other.

Kerry, hope you have a good one!

I have to have Dh hook up the dvd player so I can get back to doing my workouts. I keep forgeting to ask him.

07-16-2008, 03:01 PM
hi everyone. Painting went pretty well yesterday, I am a lot less anal retentive and perfectionistic about it since I had kids...hard to be a perfectionist with 2 kids under 3  My step-mom is going to watch them tomorrow morning for a little bit so I can do more then. I'll post a pic when I finish (may be a while though). Ended up going to a friends house for dinner last night. I have a really hard time staying OP when we go somewhere else to eat. :( And then everytime I don't stay OP my weight goes up. :( Simple cause and affect, you'd think I could figure it out. :( I am trying to focus on the fact that today is a new day.

My mom is back in town and brought fresh cheese curds from the midwest. :hun::hun::hun::hun::hun::hun: I LOVE fresh cheese curds. Have to factor them into my plan today. :)

I'll do personals later while kids are napping, hope you all are having a great day!

07-16-2008, 03:03 PM
Afternoon Chickies,
I just got the lawn mowed. It only took me about 1 hour and half to 45 minutes. So now I am cooling off before I eat my lunch. Dh made spaghetti and green beans. But atleast the lawn is mowed for the week.
Joan glad you had a nice visit with your inlaw's. So what good books did you read on your visit?
Hi to everyone else. I think I might just go brave it and go jump in a cold shower to cool off. :) Chat with you all later.
Take care,

lois lane
07-16-2008, 03:04 PM
Kerry, I forgot, you must have a big yard, that's alot of mowing! Don't stay in the heat for too long!

Toni, I find it hard to eat well when away from home too. Which room are you painting?

07-16-2008, 03:25 PM
Hey all,,,

Kerry I wish DH would let me cut the grass...he's so anal about it, no one is allowed but him. Oh, and my friend went for a sp.ed. position, but at an alternative school for kids needing more emotional support than the regular district. She hasn't been teaching for 10 years, but has been a part-time TSS for the last two years.

Joan, hey chickie!!! Glad you had a nice time. Meatloaf mix sometimes comes mixed together or comes as ground beef, pork, and veal in one package. I just put some parsley, garlic powder, eggs & breadcrumbs & make meatballs. Throw them in my pot of sauce when it's hot and let them cook for a few hours. My MIL is Italian...she taught me how to do it :)

Christina, hope you are able to get your work done.

Alicia, still praying that you find a job that A)you like and B)doesn't take you away from home. It must be so hard. I know something has to be just around the corner for you!!!

Lauren, hope the meds start making a difference for you.

Toni, I used to live in IL...we used to go to Wisconsin on the weekends every now & then & get cheese curds. I had forgotten all aobut them until you mentioned them. YUM!!!

Hey to the newbies!!!

Okay, gotta get ready to go to the bank now that the kids friends are gone. Hope everyone has a good night!!!

07-16-2008, 04:02 PM
Morning all,
I am so excited. The cast and splints are coming off of my nose TOMORROW. I am so thrilled. I will be able to smell again! 8 long days and 10 lbs lighter. Ladies how long does it take to get signature and ticker?
Also, who does pilates? I was wondering how effective it is for weight loss.

07-16-2008, 04:04 PM
Yana, I believe it's 30 days...lemme check!

07-16-2008, 04:06 PM
Hey all. I had a brutal night last night with the leg pain I was experiencing. By morning I felt better and got up to go to work. At about 10:30 this morning my leg went almost completely numb so I left and went to the ER.

The poked and prodded me until I thought I was going to scream. EKG, Ultrasound, XRays, Blood tests... you name it. The diagnosis, non-specific numbness. They couldn't find anything wrong. I was sure I was dying from a blood clot or at any moment I would have a pulmonary embolism and have brain damage for the rest of my life. My leg is still having pins and needles. They said it could be a pinched nerve but I've had that and it doesn't feel like that.

Anyway, I didn't go back to work since my day was almost over anyway. I'm home now so I'm gonna have some lunch and play some Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii... I have to to play before DD gets home from camp and pulls rank!! The Wii is hers... she paid for it so I have no say!! LOL :D

The best part of the day is that I got out of work early and that I'm not dead!! YAY LIFE!! :p :cp: Now if I can just beat bouldergeist on Mario... it will be a banner day!

Talk to y'all later!!

07-16-2008, 04:11 PM
Hi Chicks!

I'm feeling like poo-poo today. My DD turned her alarm off this morning instead of getting up and getting ready for CC practice, so her coach was knocking on my door at 5:45 this morning and the dogs were barking their heads off. Arrrg, she never gets up on time!! So I woke up extremely tired and grouchy. Had to run to Lowes again, then I was so hungry I stopped and got myself a coney dog and onion rings and a diet vanilla coke. What was I thinking?????? Now I feel like a big pile of doggy doo. YUCKY! It seems like everytime that my day starts out horrible, it just continues on that same path. I need to recognize this earlier in the day so I can put a halt to the action/reaction thing going on. The good thing is that I have a good dinner planned, grilled chicken, baked sweet taters and fresh green beans, so that is a positive in an otherwise negative day.

Sorry don't have time for personals, just needed to vent. Need to get outside and pull more weeds.

07-16-2008, 04:14 PM
Poppy, posting at the same time, glad you're ok, hope they find out what the deal was.

07-16-2008, 06:12 PM
Trish, sounds like a great dinner...we are having cereal cause I just don't feel like cookin' tonight!!! Hope your day has been better.

Valerie, hopin' that leg pain doesn't come back, girl. Oh, and I hope you beat whoever it was you were supposed to beat!!!

Alicia, forgot to tell you, yes, I am still taking bellydancing. She took a vacation for May and we started back up in June, Thurs. nights. I am still loving it, she just booked a venue for the show next April, planning on being in it. ;)

Okay, off to a nice cold bowl of Special K!!!

Talk later chicas!!

07-16-2008, 08:22 PM
Trish, just want to send you a  those days can be rough.

poppyseeds, hope they figure out what is wrong, that sounds super-scary...

yana, what happened to your nose? I do pilates (not everyday but about 2-3 times a week in the summer, more in the winter). It really helps tone you and I feel a big difference in by body when I do it, but for actual weight loss, I do better when I do something like run.

Pam, those meatballs sound great! I have to confess I ate half a pound of cheese curds!!!! :o I also faithfully logged them in my calorie counter (880!!!) It is probably all for the best that I only have them every few years. :)

Alicia (lois lane) - I'm painting a landscape on a canvas for SIL's college graduation present. I have an art minor from college and haven't painted in eons (about 5 years) so it is kind of fun to give it a whirl again.

Joan, your visit sounds nice and relaxing. :)

Knitta, here is your kick in the pants! :drill::sumo::club:  hope you ended up getting your exercise in. :)

Alicia (juliard), how did the grill assembly go? seems like a scary thing to have lots of assembly required!

Erin, I LOVE the idea of the kids footprints as tattoos!!! where would you put them?

everyone I missed, have a great wednesday (whatever is left of it in your part of the world:D) I'm off to do my workout.

07-16-2008, 08:27 PM

I had my deviated septum fixed and at the same time some minor changes to the way my nose looks.

07-16-2008, 08:36 PM
you must be so excited!!

07-16-2008, 09:17 PM
Well- I did it! 2 1/2 hours later and we had delicious grilled chicken marinated in hoisen sauce mixed with soy sauce and grilled corn on the cob for dinner tonight. It was totally worth the stress and (muted-small ears were listening) curse words!

I should take a walk but I really need to clean up the kitchen so off I go- hope everyone has a good night!

07-16-2008, 09:33 PM
evening all...work today was pretty chaotic...but that's work right? I didn't make it to the gym...but i swore tonight i after dinner settled i would do sit ups push ups, weight etc...during commercial breaks. I'm not a tv addict...but the one show i must watch is "So they think you can dance" Totally addicted. So i told myself if i stayed home to watch it, then i must work out during the commercials.

Poppy- people here are probably tired of me praising the glory of chiropractic medicine. I HIGHLY cannot emphisize how much the chiro has changed my life. I highly recommend checking a good one out. Some insurances even cover it (not mine but oh well). You really do sound like you have a pinched nerve and you'd be amazed at what a bit of adjusting can do.

Julliard-glad to hear the grill was worth it....i love food on the grill.

wow...there really were a lot of post today...i can't keep up. Hi to everyone else i might have forgotten....and hey to the newbies.

07-16-2008, 09:38 PM
Yana...20 days & 20 posts til you get a siggy & ticker! :D

07-16-2008, 09:55 PM
Yay! Thanks LBH. I can't wait to get my siggy!

07-16-2008, 10:18 PM

Hi Erin! :)

Just take the copies of the footprints to your tat artist and he/she can make a copy of it. They'll let you see it once they make a temporary tat of it. That way you can play around with it to decide where you want them. Once you give them the A-ok, you're good to go.

Shop around for a good tattoo artist. Check with family and friends on where to go. Word of mouth is always the best.

Good luck to you. Be sure to let me know how it goes. ;)

07-16-2008, 10:23 PM
Happy Hump Day everyone! :)

I didn't get a chance to post anything this morning. I had a gig this morning and didn't have much time. I took my daughter to summer school and only had time to scarf down oatmeal and strawberries before hitting the shower and getting ready.

I hope everyone had a great day! May your tomorrow be even brighter! ;)

07-17-2008, 12:13 AM
Good Evening Ladies!!!

I did it, I did my goal on the elliptical today.. my legs were mush, but I did it!!! I enjoyed a yummy ice-cold Banana Protein smoothie drink afterwards. MMMMM!!!:cb::cb::cb:

Well I am tired beyond belief, so am going to lay down and watch some tv until I nod off. Hope everyone had a good day and night. Chat tomorrow...
