Oh that's okay then, I wouldn't worry to much about it :)
Ummmmm I had a 2 egg omlet with sliced mushrooms, diced red pepper, some spinach, shrimp, and cheese, along with a side of fresh green beans.
It was yummy and I'm full.

oh my where is everyone??? I was on here this past summer and there was lots. I go off for a bit and barely anyone talks on here.
I'm on medical leave with HM till about 2 weeks after I get my galbladder removed on January 29.I cant wait till I can get back on the program full force.
I have both of the cookbooks and really like quite a few recipes. I really like the breakfast in a mug.
Good luck ladies and see you soon.

BTW... I made the most awesome taco salad for supper tonight, it was so yummie! I used the 2nd edition cookbook and there were two different mexican recipes in there and decided to improvise and make a salad, it turned out pretty good too. I was so full after I ate it though but it was all legal :)
Hopefully we will all have a really good weekend and when we weigh in on monday we shall see the scale move down ;)

Hi everyone...can I join your thread? I have been w/HM since Aug 2 09. I love it and they are integral in my sucess so far. I have struggled a little with telling people I am on this, for some reason people think you are cheating the way to "healthily" lose weight, that the pills do it all for you...when i/you know otherwise. I am trying to find a way to not feel this way, as it comes up often. I am NOT cheating the system but....
Them:"how are you losing weight?"
Me:"ummm....i watch what i eat....stutter....stammer..."
It is really becoming an issue for me. It's like that crazy uncle you are embarassed to tell anyone about.
Anyways, I look forward to reading the rest of this thread, I kinda jumped to the end i was so excited to see this group. Cheers.

2_dogs..no im not really watching calories, actually the ladies at hm always get mad at me because i never get in all my reqiured food, haha i find it to be soo much so im always short a fat or free exchange ect ect, they tell me thats why my weight has stood still lately, lol but my inches keep coming off so im happy, think im at 29.5 inches lost, 15lbs lost, but ill post my exacts on monday after i weigh in!
Everyone have a great weekend!!!

Bride, it is important to eat everything you are supposed to ...when you hit a plateau they will be able to take some food away them ( like the f.e) but if you aren;t eating it to begin with, that creates a problem.

Ok Happy Sunday..but I am stuck!

Last week I changed the program as they recommended ..3p 4 v (it was 4 and 5 before) and now I havent lost any weight. i am going to email the councellor in Ontario on facebook because i think she has a very good grip on the program idiosyncracies...

I weighed in today and was only down 1/4 of a pound. I was so disappointed because I have stayed on program like you wouldn't believe. Anyways, I'll try this one more week, and if I'm only down another 1/4 then I don't know what I'm going to do.

I am trying 2_dogs... Money is getting tighter than ever for us as there's work is very hard to find in transport here in ON, we may need to sell our home and move to NS. I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford HM anymore, I may just have to do it on my own.

01-13-2009, 11:52 AM
went for my weigh in yesterday, down 1 1/2 lbs so thats good! in total ive lost 17lbs and 29.5 inches in 10 weeks! We can do this woohoo hahha.
Anewme sorry to hear your having a rough time, so many people are, especially in that industry just remember to keep ur head up, and even if you cant afford hm, you can still do it on ur own..ps u can by these supplements at gnc for a heck of a lot cheaper, so dont let this derail you!

That's wonderful news bride2b :) I'm soooooooooo happy for you!!!
Where are you from? Here in ontario trucking transport is really bad right now, so my hubby is looking out of province for something else. We were talking with realtors in nova scotia and they were saying that the recession hasn't really had an impact there. We want to know for sure because the last thing we want to do is sell here, move there and find out that the jobs just aren't there either.
What to do?

I was orig from Ontario myself. I went back last year for a visit..Heading back this year as well for a visit (relatives)
My Uncle was a trucker as well, it was just becoming harder and harder to make a decent living, especially being away form home 6-8 weeks at a time constantly..makes it hard for a life..and health.
Hoe did y'all do?

Thanks 2_dogs and bride2b, I really appreciate having you here!!
I haven't weighed in yet today, I'm thinking of not going cause I cheated last night and ate crackers with peanut butter and nutella, I also skipped all my meals and I know for sure that I'll gain.
I'm looking now for work for my hubby here in Ontario and its more than just slow, so I'm also looking in the Atlantic Provinces, lets hope we get some good news soon. This is just killing us. I also have to think of my oldest son, he will be staying behind as he's well on his way to getting his life together with his career, so we'll need to find him a house too. This is all really scary to me.

I didn't weigh in today, I just was not feeling up to things, but I will on friday, I'll go back on program tomorrow first thing in the morning okay. My biggest problem with weight is that I skip meals, not that I eat alot, but when I get stressed or depressed I just don't eat which is most of the time.
How did you to today?

Whoahoooo! Wayda go you two :) You are both doing awesome!!!!
I still haven't weighed in yet, but I will soon. We've just been focusing on jobs right now. Hubby has a couple of companies interested here in Ontario so I'll let you know the outcome as soon as we hear something.
I have an interview today with a webdesign company, so I'm crossing my fingers that I get it and if I do, and if my hubby gets a new job, then we will be able to say here!!!!
I checked on my weigh scale this morning and I think I might have put 1 lb on, but again this is my scale not theirs. Either way, I will continue with the plan even if I have to do it here at home.
Now where did you say I could get those supplements? What is gnc?

Hi Everyone, I am very new to this forum but am looking for people also on the HM program, this seems to be the place! I have a long road ahead of me but a decent start so far, started Dec 1 2008 at 328.6 lbs, and weighed in yesterday at 299.0...still have what feels like a million left to go!!

01-29-2009, 05:35 PM
Hello, I am also new to this program. Wow, it looks like a lot of chat happens for the Herbal Magic gals. I joined Herbal Magic January 1, 2008. I did awesome for the first six months and was down 56 pounds by June. We were building a house and summer got very busy and stressful and then we moved and then Christmas came. Well, I gained back 9 pounds in the last half of the year (6 over Christmas alone!) and started being serious again this month. At my weigh in yesterday, I was finally back to 56 pounds down. My start weight was 300.8 and yesterday was 244.8. I am determined to stick to plan and lose. We have a wedding to go to in Mexico in 12 weeks...

Thanks Lady! I am trying not to think about it too much, if i am doing all i can there is no need to kick myself right? :) i am .4 away from 30lbs lost (hoping to get that today at WI) and 30lbs is nothing to beat myself up over, thats a lot of weight in its self. My goal was to lose 100lbs by july that makes me 33.3% done right ? ha ha

01-30-2009, 05:10 PM
Friend, 30 lbs IS allot! Have you ever gone to the hardware store and picked up a 30lb box of nails and carried it around the store??? What an awesome feel when you put it down!!! you keep going girl!!!
Jenni
01-30-2009, 05:36 PM
Thanks for the welcome, lady.
UFF: And yes, 30 pounds is great. I do that too where I measure percentage. I also have done times of my life where I was at that weight. You know, wedding weight, the weight when I started dating my husband, pre-pregnancy weight, 9 months pregnant weight... It is great to be somewhere you have been before.
For me, it has been helpful to remember good times in my life and remember what I am working for. I am so close to the 50% mark. I am so hoping to reach it next week. We shall see...

So how do you do for your meals?
for brekkie I do 1 protein *usually 2 eggs) 2 slice ww multigrain bread toasted, 1 tsp becel and sometimes 1 1/2 oz cheeze.
I keep my fruit for a snack later on in the am.
UglyFatFriend
02-02-2009, 10:40 AM
Hey Lady, your breakfast sounds exactly the same as mine, i LOVE eggs and toast, i used to eat it before i started so it was not a hard change for me at all, although I rarely ate breakfast before at all, so that in itself was a change i guess lol.
Thanks guys, i am very proud of my 30 lbs, most of the time, just have those 'off days' i guess. And I have picked up 30lbs before and its amazing that i managed to carry that around all the time. My Friend is a personal trainer (actually works with Paul from X-weighted if you have seen that show) and she has given me and another friend some 'routines' to do and one of them involves running with 2 15lb weights, i figured it would be a since, **** i carried it around on a dialy basis before lol...it was A LOT harder than i expected!

Thought I would throw a question out there, did anyone cheat this weekend, here is a list of my cheats lol.....
Went out friday night and had 3 vodka waters, and 3 shooters, not sure what was in them. And I had half a cooler saturday night, my 'excuse' i was with a cute guy ha ha, he bought be drinks.....as long as your alcohol is drank with water it doesnt count right?? ha ha :)
Jenni
02-02-2009, 11:47 AM
UFF: I soooo cheated this weekend. It was my friends bachelorette party and it was bad. I am not looking forward to my weigh in today. At least I am back on track today. That is so awesome that you have a friend that works with Paul. I love him and I love watching X-weighted.
My breakfast and lunch on weekdays are pretty much the same every day. I bring 1/2 cup all bran and 2 FF Activia yogurts for breakfast. I bring all my fruits with me to work and eat them throughout the day. Usually, it is apples and oranges. I bring a salad at lunch with either 2 boiled eggs or some type of protein that I have cooked, measured and frozen. I use the salad spritzer as you can have 10 sprays without it being anything. I usually use 15 as I find 10 isn't enough. At supper, sometimes I will cook something for the family and sometimes I will cook something different for them than myself. I cook a lot of stirfry's (my husband is getting really sick of them) and I use couscous instead of rice because you can have more couscous and it is super easy to make. Sometimes, I will cook pork tenderloin or steak or chicken breast, baked potato and lots of veggies. If I cook something separate for my husband and son, I will have eggs and WW toast with cut up tomato or I will open a can of tuna, mix it with mayo and cut up a cucumber and have that with WW toast. If I have anything left, I try to have it in the evening.
How does everyone else get their day's food in? I could really use some new ideas. It is pretty boring in my house. I started making homemade soups a couple of weeks ago and loading in the veggies and just putting a small amount of brown rice or barley into it. My husband was pretty impressed so I may make a homemade soup once a week until he gets sick of that, too...

Hi everyone,
I just started Herbal Magic a week ago (25yr. old female) and was told that I should lose between 8 & 10 pounds in the first two weeks. Has anyone else here had these results? Is this too much weight to expect? Should I expect less? I apparently lost 3 pounds in the first week but I'm already feeling a little discouraged & very hungry (did anyone else feel this way at the beginning?). Please help!

Hey girlie! Welcome! DO not beleive what they say about that weigth loss. 2 lbs a week or so is good. If you had lots of water weight than more..but not a guarentee. Tell us what a days menu is..
You should be eating breakie....as in a protein, a starch and a fruit and aprt of a dairy
snack a fruit
kuch eat protein starch (all starch gone now before too much day is gone) some more dairy if any left and a fruit
have a fresh veg as a snack
supper 1 protein and 3 veg....free exchange later..
and water water water.. not flvoured water either.
at least this is what I eat..

Thanks for that info! I went in today and I've lost another 2 pounds over the weekend...and with attending a birthday party this weekend, I was shocked. So perhaps I have alot of water weight on me?
Jenni
02-02-2009, 05:41 PM
2 dogs 1 lady: Good job on the loss. That is great that you are .2 away from 15 pounds. It is always nice to hit another 5 pounds. It is neat to see how you arrange your food.
girlie: I, too, was told that you could lose up to 8 pounds the first week. I only lost 4. I think 2 pounds a week consistantly would be better anyway. Good job on losing the weight even with a birthday party. That takes some really good self control. I don't have much of that!

I have another question if you all don't mind (be being the newbie to HM and such!)...did any of you feel like you had less energy on this diet or did you seem to have more? I feel like I'm lacking energy most days and I'm not too fond of that. I'm eating as the diet plan suggests (I'm not depriving myself to lose weight), but I'm wondering if it's just because I'm not snacking on the junk my body used to love? Or could it be something else? Any suggestions?
bride2b
02-02-2009, 08:22 PM
hey girlie I felt like i had less energy at first too but after a few weeks it got better now i have more energy than ever, so dont worry its ur body adjusting to new nutrients/withdrawl to bad habits!! have diet coke or tea when ur feeling sluggish. or better yet..green tea!!
anywas since its been forever since iv posted i figured i better do an update lol! i never ended up doing that 3day cleanse i got so busy and just couldnt make time to organize it haha but i did hit my 200lb mark for saturday wich was awsome as it was my goal so yay! lol but then of course i celebrated by drinking/eating wayy too much on saturday in sunday so i was at 203 this morning , but i think alot of it was salt intake cuz my fingers felt swollen hahah (moms cooking is killer)!
hows everyone else doing??
ps. I Ordered my wedding dress!!yay size 16! which is amazing becuz prior to this diet i measured in at having to order a size 20. these dresses are 2-3 sizes smaller than real sizes but once u order an 18 its 10% more $$, so im just happy i got to save a few $$!!

Hey, I too felt like I had a little less energy at first but like bride2b I feel like i have SO much more now, even little things like when i go to get the mail i will actually stay and shovel off the deck and i find myself tidying up the kitchen after dinner and next thing you know my cupboards are re-arranged lol. Its a totally different me, im more willing to go out shopping with friends and everything just give your body time to adjust a bit :)

Are you happy with HM program and do you feel it is worth the extra $....I am thinking of joining but I am wondering if it will work for me. I was told it raises your blood pressure and that it can make you very cranky....I have perfect blood pressure but I can be moody ...especially during my monthly you know.
New to this so any advise would be greatly appreciate.....I wish I had a friend to lose the weight with....I have had the extra weight(90lbs) on from having my son for 3 years now...I feel so unhealthy and frustrated...I obviously need a very structured program and to be accountable on a daily basis...I have always followed WW an loved it but I find it very hard to make it until the next class...I end up cheating and basically throw in the towel.
Trying to pick myself up....I need to try again...I want my confidence back...Denise

Hi there Denise!!
Welcome!
Boys do I know where you are coming from regarding how you are feeling!!! But trust me, HM can help & IS worth it!
Now who said that stuff about blood pressure and crabbiness?:?: If you are a bit crabby it would be from sugar withdrawls if you are a sugar fiend...even then you can have the 100 cal treats, skinny cows etc. I do not find it hard to follow...have I cheated? Sure,:dizzy: it is a life change, but I know if I cheat i will have to get back up and follow my path of losing weight, not giving up. We all are in it together here...Bride, Friend, myself & others...we can be your friends and help you out! Trust me when i say when you start to see a small difference you feel good!!!!:carrot: The variety of foods are huge and i strongly recommend getting their cookbooks so it helps you figure out extra foods so you do not get bored etc..

WOW!!! I can't believe this thread is alive again! It's great!!! I joined the thread months ago and there was nobody posting so I stopped checking in. I joined HM this past November. To date I've lost 25 lbs and 40 inches. It is amazing what this program can do for you. I have kinda 'fallen off the wagon' over the past few weeks, but I am definitely planning on getting things going again. My goal date is February 28 and I have 15 lbs to lose by then. I think I can do...here's to hopin!!! Take care all and congrats on the weight lost so far.

Hi Everyone, I just felt the need to share my weigh in info from yesterday, I was down another pound from saturday which made my total for the week 3lbs even, i gotta say seing results has to be the greatest motivation ever!! I am now well under the 300lb mark at 293.6! Down 34.8lbs since dec 1st, i cant understand why i never took this much 'pride' in myself way sooner!!

I'm totally in the same boat as you. I have cheated and still managed to go down but this time i think i pushed my limit a little tooooo much. I was up 1.4lbs since monday. Really thats NOTHING (neither is 2) but its still frustrating :) Its nice to go up once in a while though so it kinda kicks you back on track!!! My inches still went down, not as much as past weeks but still nice to see!!

It's been a little while since I posted last :) But since then I've gotten tons done for my July wedding!!
For a quick update though, I've become super frustrated with some of the girls at Herbal Magic. I've done so much work to change my diet and my way of thinking about food but I feel constantly discouraged when I go in for weigh-in's. My fiancee seems to be the only one encouraging me all the time, which is FABULOUS, but I also need a little encouragement from the HM girls too. Does anyone have any hits or tips as to continuing weight loss that they may not mention at Herbal Magic??
Thanks!
Jenni
02-12-2009, 11:23 AM
Girlie, I am in the same boat as you. Following the diet great and exercising like crazy. I try to stick to the low GI foods as much as possible. I think my body is just being stubborn!! I bought the "lean extreme" meant to be taken before and after a workout. I am hoping it will make a difference. I was only down .4 on Monday and .2 yesterday. When you are trying to get down 2 pounds a week, that just won't cut it. Hopefully, tomorrow's weigh in won't be so dissapointing.
2 dogs and UFF: Your cheats will catch up with you. It seems you can cheat for a while and still lose; but then you go up and it takes a week to get that off. It isn't worth it in the end.
It is frustrating to be so motivated and do everything right and not see results!!!
UglyFatFriend
02-12-2009, 11:30 AM
I'm with you on that one!!! The last few weeks have been bad for cheating, only because i have gotten away with it, but im back now lol because you're right its not worth it!!!
I am a total spreadsheet-aholic and i track my weight and a graph with my bmi and everything on it, i HATE seeing that graph spike back up like it did today when i entered my weight from yesterday lol.
Do any of you conciously eat all your starches at the beginning of the day, or more of your food earlier on in the day? I have been told that can help but i have trouble stuffing in that much food early in the day, i find if i dont have a starch at dinner im STARVING by the time i go to bed!!
Jenni
02-12-2009, 01:51 PM
I have tried having my starches early and it doesn't work for me. I have to save 1 1/2P, 1S and 2V as well as my fats for supper or I am in the cupboard after. I might give it a try for a few days and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the tip.

Niw because I weigh more, I am on qlpII
so I get 3 protein and 4 veg.. if you dont, just tweak yours
breakfast,,
1-protein
1-starch
1-fat
snack 1-fruit
Lunch
1-protein
1-starch
1-fruit
snack 1 cup fresh coloured veggies
Dinner
1- protien
3-veg
1-fruit
snack..free exchange
that way you are rid of your starches early and the veggies are easier in case you are not as active.
When you take your fat is not as important..I save it for becel for veggies or on toast
>O)
Jenni
02-13-2009, 03:52 PM
I can understand why they would want you to get your starches early. I am not sure I could follow this. I take a salad with protein every day for lunch. I am not sure how I would get a starch in. I guess I could give it a try. If you don't mind, could you post a couple of days of meals you have so I can maybe get some new ideas. Thank you.

I hit the 60 pound mark on Friday. It only took me 8 months to get from 50-60!! That is my half way mark and 20% of my weight off. It is a pretty signifigant number for me. 1st, "friend", you need to changer your name, you are neither ugly nor fat...you are a beautiful, caring person...:hug: you really should think of a new one.. *grin*
excellent weight loss!!!!! you keepp going..share your tips! I bet every joint is thanking you for every lb you lose! I know mine do!!
Jenni awesome work girl!!! I bet you have had to keep buying new size "underclothes". Thatis when I KNOW I have lost, when suddenly I notice that the unmentionables are wrong sized..(dumb but true) it really forces you to see what is going on more so than a shirt or pants. Hahahaha.
I'm worth it, welcome and great work!!! awesome inch loss! I have done it both ways..last time (I screwed up and needed to come back) i wasn;t taking thier chrom's or wm's. I find I lose faster and less cravings if I use their items. and the cla's..well I have just finished 2 bottles..but I am going to go to a drugstore and try their CLA's for less..and see if they are as good!
I will find out if my branch is affected byt he corporate buy back. I know Sussex was..they are shutting it down. I really think the owner of it did not care about them anymore. requently there wasn't product there etc..
going for my w.i this am..wish me loss!;)

Ha ha, I don't think i CAN change my screen name now can I?! lol It was just a refernce from some movie I saw a while back, can't remember the name but they talked about how every group of girls has a 'DUFF' aka Designated Ugly Fat Friend, I don't actually think of myself as ugly, i can look at myself and pick out positive traits, but I did kind of relate to the DUFF term because I always feel like im the 'ugly ducking' of my friends circle :dizzy:
What would happen if the centre closed? Do you have an option of ordering the supplements online?? As far as i know my centre is still going farily well but i was worried about this type of thing happening, with the economy how it is and all. I paid for a year's worth of centre visits and i need em ha ha, they cant close on me!

OK, I have so much to catch up on.
Im worth it: Great loss so far. The pounds are just flying off you. That is amazing. Good work.
2 dogs: Good job on the loss. I know what you mean about the underwear. I really should get some new bras; but I think I will wait until some more comes off. When I look at my 3X granny panties, I can't believe they were once snug. I still have a hard time noticing the weight loss on myself when I look in the mirror. I swear I thought I was really hot before. Now, when I look, I just see a bucket of mush and it grosses me out. I sure hope my skin will stretch back to normal someday. I am going to just keep working out and drinking tons of water and hope it makes a difference. Thanks for the desert recipe. Sounds yummy!
UFF: I agree that you should chance your screen name. I think Skinny hot ***** is much better. At least you are working toward that instead of DUFF. I love your ticker.
Despite baking banana muffins on the weekend and eating 4 of them, I managed a loss yesterday at my weigh in of .4 over the weekend. I was pretty amazed at that.
Does anyone know how to easily change the ticker. I changed it once and it was a long process. Thanks for the help.

02-19-2009, 01:47 PM
That is awesome. 2.5 inches. Wow! I was wondering how you came up with your goal weight. I noticed it was 160 which I think is quite low considering I haven't been there since grade 9. I was just wondering how you came up with that number.
I set my goal at 180. I remember being 170 at 17, doing exercise every day and feeling great. Now that I am older, I don't think I can get there again. Who knows, only time will tell. ****, at this point if I managed to get under 200, I would be so very excited.
UglyFatFriend
02-19-2009, 02:58 PM
Well its based on the 'high' end of what my normal weight should be. Now I realize that these ideals are not ideal for everyone, I based a lot of it on my sisters and mom. They have the same frame as me so I kinda guessed. No real science to it! I dont know that i have been that low since grade 9, if i was even at that low then, i was never will to get on a scale and check. I was not always over weight i was actaully nick named 'skinny minnie' when i was younger so i do have the potential to be MUCH smaller than i am. I carry all my weight in my mid section (worst place to have it too damn it lol) i actually have a fairly small bone structure. Its all dependant on what happens when i get to that weight i guess!
Jenni
02-19-2009, 03:15 PM
I, too, carry most of my weight in my midsection. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2002 which makes me insulin resistant and infertile, along with making it VERY hard to drop pounds. It sucks!!!
I was told I have a large frame and for my height, they suggested somewhere between 147 and 163. I laughed and said 180, please!
UglyFatFriend
02-19-2009, 04:08 PM
Yeah, lol i think 140 is a total pipe dream for me as well! I would venture to guess my sisters are around 150? maybe and they look awesome! So I am using them as my benchmark :carrot:
Again like i said its probably all giong to change once I get closer to that weigh, i by no means want to look boney, im all about having a few curves. When I went and got fitted for a bridesmaid dress the other weekend the lady told me that i have a perfect hour glass shape, so i laughed and said well i think this hour glass has a little extra sand then, lol. I alwas thought of myself as very 'boxy' but apparently im not...we really are our own worst critics sometimes!!
Jenni
02-19-2009, 05:08 PM
That is very true. We are our worst critics. How is that going to work to get fitted for a bridesmaid dress while you are shrinking? Did you order a size smaller?
UglyFatFriend
02-19-2009, 08:29 PM
UGH NO the lady wouldnt let me! she was like "i have seen too many come in and say that they WILL lose weight and then the dress comes and its too small' so i had to order the size i am now. She said it can be taken in like 6 sizes because of the style so lets hope she is right!! She actually said, if you are even down one inch from now till when you come pick it up i would be very proud of you....b*tch please ha ha :) I have already dropped that much since then, maybe not all in ONE specific place but still!!
Jenni
02-20-2009, 08:59 AM
That sucks. Well, as long as the style allows a lot to be taken in, you should be OK.
UglyFatFriend
02-20-2009, 07:15 PM

The wedding dresses have lots of material. I remember I had a size 18 off the rack ( I found it in a book and wanted to order it, but she had the same one there way back when) and she was going to be able to take it down to a 12. (No wedding never went through) so don't worry!!!

found another recipe on the net to share :)
Chocolate Parfait
Ingredients
8 graham crackers 1 cup strawberries, diced ½ banana, diced ½ cup blueberries, diced 1 cup raspberries, diced 4 low-fat chocolate pudding cups
Preheat oven to 425? F. Dust graham crackers in a blender. Spread a thin layer of dusted graham cracker along the bottom of an oven-safe dish. Bake for five to ten minutes or until firm. Remove and let cool. Mix fruit. Place mixed fruit evenly over top of graham crackers. Spread chocolate pudding evenly over top of the fruit. Chill for one to two hours. Serves four. One serving equals 1 fruit, 1 starch, 1 free exchange.

2 dogs: That looks yummy! My problem is if I have those types of things in the house, I won't stop eating until it is all gone. I have refrained from baking for the most part!
UFF: What a difference. You can sure notice in your face the difference and you should definitely keep going. I have a hard time seeing the difference in me as well. I know I have outgrown clothes and gone down sizes; but I am definitely more aware now how fat I am when I look in the mirror. I was probably delusional back then; but I really did feel better about myself then. I am going to attempt to attach a couple of pictures. One is from January 2008 when I just started and the other is from last November when I was down about 50 pounds.

You will have to let us know how it goes Lady!! :)
Me on the other hand, I feel like i have been SLOWLY falling off the wagon and need to pull up my socks BIG TIME!!!! I havent out right jumped off but there have been little things i have snuck in by telling myself they 'dont count' for instance today, i had half a pita, diced chicken breast, and one fat free mozza cheese slice ALLLLLL totally legal right? But then i added about a tbsp of bbq sauce, which is NOT on plan, but i just tell myself i will use that as my free exchange....these little things have kinda popped up more frequently for me lately, i wouldnt say its food boredom either its just laziness i would say.....so i wanted to share this because i always find major encouragement here and know that you ladies will have probably been here as well!! :) OH and i have to confess, tuesday nite i had a friend in town and we met at his hotel for dinner, and decided to order in chinese so we could stay in and catch the biggest loser ( HOW HORRIBLY IRONIC! I cheat while watching a super motivational show!) i weighed in wed and was still down .2 but that could catch up with me today guess we will see. SO thats my kinda rant/vent, other than the chinese no HUGE cheats but the little ones i KNOW will spiral into big ones if im not careful, so i wanted to admit it to everyone!!!

I was terrible on the weekend. I have been very constipated lately and was told on Friday to go off all product. I had some movement on Monday and lost 3 pounds and was told to stay off and we will see about the weigh in today. Maybe, I will be starting back on WM-2000 tomorrow and Chromagic on Friday. I don't know what is happening with my body. It sure doesn't like losing weight!!

Just updated my ticker, and i gotta say it feel AMAZZZZZING to see 40lbs Lost on that thing...wow if i can do 40lbs in 3 months, i feel like i can do anything! I love putting myself first for once!!!
They made me pick up two of their 20lb bags at the centre to show what i had actually lost.....I don't know how i did it, that stuff was HEAVY lol.

I have been reading this thread from start to finish for the past 3 days. I am new obviously but I hope you don't mind me joining in on the chatter. I could use a little encouragement and perhaps I might be of help to someone else at some point if I share my challenges and victories.
I have been on HM since November 2008. I have lost and gained the same 7 lbs due to my own ability to stay on track mostly due to the life circumstances that have challenged me over that time. I need some encouragement BIG TIME! As of January 09 I tried to get back to it. However, I have since hurt my back significantly enough that I am off work and pretty much stuck flat on my back everyday allday for a yet to be determined amount of time. Needless to say I am bummed out and bored out of my tree. And when sad or bored food has been a comfort. As of last Saturday I went back in to the centre for wi. I was sad to see how I had failed. Since then I have been 100% on track but I can see how easily I might get discouraged when I go back this coming Saturday. I can't go in more than that because of my back so I have been relying on this thread for encouragement. HELP! I am not used to being inactive and in the past inactivity and weight loss have not coexisted for me.

Meme, welcome! Most of us have been in that rut you were in girl...but we KNOW you CAN do it!
lets talk abotu finger foods....they help boredom. Get a crunchy apple and have it ready and cut into pieces. Freeze seedles grap[es. Get carrots, green string beans etc with a small amount of dip...(that would be your f.ree exc btw) and have those ready for those bored times.
Now my scale has been friendly to me and tomorrow I am snealing in for a w.i. I cant wait! Knowing I might just see the scale move again is enough to keep me on track!

Hi guys
I am plannning a trip in April and was wondering if anybody has travelled with the pills before. I told the girls at the centre that I was just not going to take them and they were not very happy with me. I have been struggling with whether the pills are actually doing something for me or not. I have been taking the 2000's 4000's and chromium and have not seen any amazing drops. I am also working out at the gym everyday........Not sure what my body is doing but it sure doesn't want to get rid of the extra weight. The girls at my centre frustrate me, I do not feel they are on my side. They always have some new product for me to purchase to help speed up the weight loss.......I am very frustrated with my centre and believe I deserve better so I am thinking about switching to a new centre if they will allow me to. Any thoughts....

You can switch to another centre! It is your choice! The pills do actually help with cleansing your kidney and liver...that helps with the processing of the poisons and fats. The chromagic does help with the cravings as well I find :)

I have a question... how do you approach the subject of weight loss with people who ask how you are losing weight? Do you proudly proclaim you are on herbal magic or do you underplay it?
I don't know why... but for some reason I feel ashamed that I am on a program. And when you say herbal magic people automaticallly assume that you aren't 'losing weight in healthy way'. That certainly can take the wind out of a person's sails mighty quickly! I had someone say to me recently regarding the cost that 'you are worth it! Good for you for investing in yourself! You should be very proud!'... so why do I still feel ashamed? Suggestions anyone?

I know what you mean, there are only limited people that know i am on the program. My mom doesnt even know! I just tell them im watching what i eat, and keeping track...thats really all your doing....if its working for you, then you should be proud!! But i totally understand what you feel, i have friends who are STRONGLY against herbal magic and think its nothing but some quick diet pill that will drop the weight and gain it right back once you stop taking it. I think their opions are just lack of knowledge of the program, I can't say I thought much differently at first until I actually talked to them!!

I for one don't believe in some magic pill that makes it happen effortlessly. Herbal magic is hard work. It involves discipline and extreme self control.
In the past when I've been successful with weight loss (ie. after having babies) I've had to do exactly as I am doing now... ie. controlled caloric intake and physical activity. Unfortunately for me, the physical activity is a no go right now due to my back injury but someday I will be going full throttle again and working my butt off... literally.
In the meantime, I guess I have to prepare myself for the questions and be proud of my answer. I am not doing anything shady. I am taking care of my body and I have people to help me do it...ie. my herbal magic centre staff and now the people on here! I guess the key is that I truly have to believe it for myself right?:carrot:

Now that I think about it... more often than not... the ones who are critical of Herbal Magic... or other weight loss programs for that matter are responding out of jealousy. Those friends and acquaintances that might secretly want to lose weight too see our success and find reasons to tear us down. Herbal Magic unfortunately is an easy target because it is expensive and there are not that many people that have completed the program from start to finish including maintenance to give testimonial to success long term.

UFF: I love the pictures. It is a good way for you to see how far you have come.
bride2b: I am totally with you. I haven't gone for my weigh in yet this week as we were away all weekend and eating whatever was presented. I think I am up 10 pounds after the weekend. I feel aweful. I don't know why I can't seem to stay on plan and be motivated every day. It seems I will do great all week and then lose it on the weekend. Early on, I was still losing weight doing this; but now it seems I gain on the weekend and it takes me all week to just get back to where I was. I need a kick in the butt!!

Jenni - 60 lbs is nothing to sneeze at! You must feel great! It sounds like you are in a bit of a rut. Perhaps you can do something to shake up your routine a little. If you find you cheat on weekends maybe you can pre-plan for that. And by pre-plan I mean find some new and fun recipes or plan some new activity. Just a thought...
Bride2b: Hang in there! You CAN do it and you will be stunning!

Another delicious veggie and/or starch ...depending on how you account for it in your daily log is baked sweet potato fries. All you have to do is clean it, peel it, slice it into strips or wedges and spray a pan with vegetable cooking spray, spray the wedges too and presto change-o a yummy/too good to be good for you treat! You can make a dip using your free exchange for mayo+ketchup plus paprika. I love it! Just be careful about portion sizes.
Speaking of overindulgences... I blew it today. I had an extra dairy, and an extra starch and a little overboard on the fat too. I can't actually account for our dinner because we ate out ... but it was mostly healthy... and kind of gross actually. I also had a Timmies :( I have until Saturday to get back on track. Suggestions anyone? Do I need to choose super low cal options to compensate for my slip up? ie. egg whites etc..? I don't want to lose the momentum I have worked so hard to achieve in the past weeks. I do want to succeed. Honestly, it has just been a rough day. Stress in my life has always equated extra hunger. I know it is lame but it is so true. I would welcome any help to make it thru the next couple of days..

Me again.
UFF: I always feel totally ripped off when there is no change too. You aren't alone in that. It is difficult when you work hard and then nothing. One week I remember I was following the plan so precisely and in the middle of the week weigh in it actually showed I was slightly up. I was so upset! But then 2 days later I was down 4 lbs. WHAT THE HECK?!? Our bodies are so weird. I try and focus on the little things.. like the waistband of my jeans being a little loose now. If the scale varies during the week it doesn't matter... as long as from 1 week to the next I am down overall (ie. 2lbs minimum loss/week). I'll bet that next time you go in you will see a remarkable change if you stick with it.

UFF: Sucks on the weight being the same. I have a lot of that going on and it is frustrating. Oh, and I just sliced the spagetti squash in half, scooped out the seeds and baked it at 375 for about 45 minutes. You are looking for it to be soft when you poke it with a fork. Then you just use a fork and scoop out all the flesh. It lookes like spagetti. It is crazy. Definitely going to be something I will do again.

Why is it that sometimes in a week that there are multiple hurdles ie. lots of social occassions and others there are none? Has anyone mastered the art of eating out yet? I mean seriously! 2 days in a row of eating out is rough. Take a look at any menu and surprisingly there is very little that you can choose and feel really good about. Today for example: I chose the chef salad. Yesterday.. another kind of salad. Last week... salad!!!!!! AAAAAAAHHHHH! I don't mind a good salad now and again but really!

Jenni.. I so wish I had some sweet potatoes right now! Talk about the ideal food. Yes.. it is starchy .. but it is also classified a veggie. It is orange (beta carotene) and it is fibrous and it is filled with all of these nutrients that are just so good for us. How wrong can it be? Does anyone else know of any foods like this? I am thinking about trying the avocado free guacamole recipe. I'll let you know how it goes.. can you tell I like to cook? :P

Thanks for the warm welcome girls!
This is week 3 for me.......and I was feeling alittle on the discouraged side, but I stepped on the scale today and I'm down 5lbs since I started! So I guess I shouldn't complain right!
LOL I don't know........guess I was hoping for 50 lbs to disappear overnight!
(kidding)
My first week I was really bad at not taking ALL the pills in the day needed.......usually it was 2 times a day rather than 3! So I'm sure that didn't help me!
Last week I was out of town for 4 days.......I tried to keep myself in check........but forgot the suppliments at home! oops!
So today I look back and can say I'm proud of these 5 lbs ;)
I also started my treadmill today! LOL haven't done that in ages!
Little about me.........I'm a mom to 4 kids (3 boys and a girl) Been carring the extra weight since my first pregnancy! Basically gained 40lbs in that pregnancy and never lost all of it! And just continued keeping some with each one.....and here I am! Way over weight!
I had a breast reduction 8 weeks ago! Feel great......so now if I could loose the extra, I'd be happy! :)
Anyways......do any of you keep a online diary of your menu? Weight loss? >>I guess a blog !?!
Thanks for the warm welcome........hope we all can succeed in our dream of weight loss :)

I too have had an issue with Constipation.......been trying to eat some things with fiber........a friend of mine told me to get this Fiber Sure........its tasteless but you put it in your food.....its like powder?!

Well, This herbal laxative has been the best thing for me. I tried what was recommended at Herbal magic and none of it worked. The girl there told me to go get these fiber pills with prune juice in them. I tried them and they didn't work either. I tried exlax and it did nothing. This herbal tea is great. It was bought at the grocery store and I think it is made by Traditional medicines and it just says "Herbal Laxative Tea". I will keep it on hand all the time now. There is no contradiction with the supplements from Herbal magic. It just says not to use it for more than a week. I used it for 4 days and I think I will just have one every Sunday night from now on to help things along. Have a good weekend, ladies. I will be back Monday.

I went in too today. I am down .8. Not impressed but I guess it is better than nothing. I figure it is due to approaching TOM and the fact that I am having umm... elimination issues? that made both starches (gone nice and early..very filling)

Also i have had an aisian pear (basically a juicy apple) as my fruit.
Going to go and get a huge class of water, finish watching Coronation st and then some house work. The busier I am , the less chance for me to cheat right?

I tried the tex-mex popcorn. It was EW! Maybe someone else has had success with it.
I just discovered a fully-legal taco salad. You make your own taco bowl by wetting a tortilla and molding it around a bowl and baking it in the oven for about 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Then you layer lots of lettuce, tomatoes, your own prepared sauce with fresh tomatoes, garlic, paprika, cumin, and chili powder. You can have cheese too if you still have your dairy left. And salsa as a free exchange element. You can even figure out how to work in sour cream. DELISH! The key is measuring everything of course.

UFF: You are doing awesome. Wow, 15 pounds ahead. That is great. You will be at your goal weight in no time if you keep that up. Quite an inspiration.
doughgirl: 7.5km, that is awesome. Wow, I am sure I wouldn't be able to walk that far. Good job on that. Keep it up and I am sure the scale will be flying downwards.
2 dogs: Way to go on finding out how your body works with different combinations of food. I find some days, I am so hungry that I finish all my snacks for the day by lunchtime and others, I could even care less if I eat breakfast. I haven't been able to piece it all together yet. Way to get to know your body.
I was down 2 pounds over the weekend which I am very happy with. I will be happy if I can maintain that for the rest of the week. UFF, you are an inspiration. Way to go. I can tell that you are really working very hard at this. I know you must be happy with your success thus far and I know you will have continued success at this rate. How are you finding your clothing now? They say every 10 lb is a size. Do you find that to be true?
2 dogs: Thanks for sharing your success and pitfalls. The reality is that it is hard work to lose weight and I am so grateful that we can share this journey with one another.
Jenni, you are doing so great! With determination and a goal in sight I know that you can really make a difference before your trip to Mexico. Can you set a reward for yourself like a new bathing suit or a sundress or something like that?
doughgirl, hang in there. I think all of us can attest to frustration where we do all the right things and the scale remains unchanged. Perhaps you can focus on how your clothes are feeling or how great it feels to go for a walk. Exercise will make a huge difference overall to how your body looks and feels. Way to go. Don't worry.. that scale will move soon! Keep at it!
As for me, I don't weigh in until Saturday. So I have 4 + days to really work hard. I am trying the CLAs and the L-Gluts. I am not starved at any point in the day and I feel different .. good different. I hope, I hope, I hope that this will be a good week for me.

Aww thanks so much ladies! I needed that boost i have been feeling really down lately. Numerous reasons but one was that i feel as though my loss is not visiable and its bothering me. I feel like at almost50lbs gone you should be able to tell but i cant!
meme: I defintaely don't think i have droped 4 sizes...but its possible i guess, i have jeans that go from 20 - 25...the sizing is all so outta whack! I did notice that i threw my jeans into the dryer and they shrunk up but still fit lol. I have about 5 pairs of my 'skinny' jeans that i couldnt get past my hips and can now so i guess i am noticing changes like that, i havent bought anything new yet though, im waiting for the 50lb mark :) I set a goal for myself of 10 lbs a month, its 2 more than herbals projected goal but i like to strive higher ha ha.
And you ladies are all doing so well as well, as long as i have this site to vent on i think i will keep it up, i love having people around that understand this journey, its one nobody can fully understand until they try it.

Evening Ladies!
Another work day over..and i have to say, it has been a wonky week already.:dizzy: I feel like a fire fighter constantly yelling "more hose!" *ugh*
I started the CLA's this am. 1000mg which is MORE than the HM one, so I think I will only take 2 or 3 per day.
I brought my steel cut oats to work this am and was so busy with meetings I never got to eat them. :?:I had 5 cookies, a small pc of cake and irish stew for luch and i STILL think i am under calories!!!! I can not get over the stress. I think a big part of things right now is that I am not sleeping well at all. a few nights in a riw and I can not get aleep for hours nor can I stay asleep. I think i am going to change the bed sheets, take a loooong hot shower before I go to bed (put on nice smelling lotion that I love) and just curl into bed. Sometimes that helps....feel nice and clean and go to bed. I think I am going to try and stay up a bit later and NOT have anythng after 7 pm. Not even water.
Some times the simplest things make a difference..matter of fact, I am going to burn a nice cd with my fave tunes too. Sometimes you need to set the stage for life...just like it losing weight. You need to set the stage...... So as another preparation for a good night, i am going to prepare my lunch & snakcs for tomorrow this evening! Yes, I feel better already....
hope some of you are following me on this...:cloud9:

hey ladies!! iv been soo horrible at posting lately but i do read everyday haha and im glad to see everyone is still working hard! i wieghed in today im down to 196, so thats 30lbs and 41 1/4 inches gone in 19 weeks, im pretty happy today i felt soo motivated i walked to and from work (about 25mins each) and enjoyed the sunshine on my face!!..finally lol. anyways as i was walking i got to thinking about life and realized that this weightloss is only going to make me look/feel better which is the reason why i am doing it but i realized its going to help me with my career. i work in health care, and all day long am telling ppl how to take care of there bodies, to stretch, to exercise ect ect. and why would they listen to me when i looked like i didnt follow my own advice?
anyways i guess i had a little self realization moment today and needed to share lol! So everyone go for a walk today and enjoy the warm air and sunshine lol..maybe it will help give u another reason to stay motivated like it did me today!!

meme: I don't think it is a general 10 lbs. a size. I think the bigger you are, the bigger the span between sizes. I started at size 24 and am now starting to buy size 18 after 65 pounds so I think that is about 15 pounds a size for me. I am 5'-7" and I am sure it would be different for people of different heights as well. Someone 5' tall that lost 60 pounds would probably be down more sizes. I have more area for the fat to hide!!
UFF: That is great that you are in skinny jeans. Just wait until they become too loose. I have a hard time seeing the results as well. I am hoping that once I get out of the "obese" category (which for me is 194 pounds) that I will feel much better. I still look in the mirror and see all the fat that is there. It is hard to remember how much more there once was. I don't know if that makes sense; but that is how I feel.
2dogs: Not nice to not be able to sleep. I hate that. I sure hope your bath idea works. I find without enough sleep, it makes it harder to do anything; especially exercise. I do find that if I exercise every day that I sleep great at night. Good luck tonight.
bride: nice to see you post. That is awesome that you walked to work and back. And you lost 30 pounds and 41 1/2 inches. Wow, that is lots of inches. It is great that you had an AHA! moment about your job as well. You are right, people are more likely to take advice from someone who looks in good health. I would love the sunshine to come out. I am so sick of winter!!!

ok..so annonominity makes it ok for me to tell you this here...you see my weight number...I took an epsom salt bath a few months ago..or tried too...I have a 40 yr old tub (not the nice big ones) but a small one...and I did not fit so well....I would never admit that in the 3d world..so no bath..but I have taken shark cartlidge, naprosyn, CLA and am getting ready for bed.
I also had a tension tamer tea earlier as well.
ready for a good night sleep now!!
hugs to all my chickies and y'all are doing well! Every day, every meal we do is a success!!

Can anyone explain to me about CLA's? I know what my centre has to say about them but I would like to hear it firsthand from one of you who isn't trying to sell a product.
Jenni
03-18-2009, 01:48 PM
CLA is meant to help shrink fat cells. They are not meant to help you lose weight, just inches. I did them (from the drugstore) for 6 months and I still have a fat belly.

I'm so excited to see a Herbal Magic support group :) I went to herbal magic from Feb 2007 to Feb 2008 and lost 103 pounds, I still had a ways to go but thought I could save myself the $50 plus a week and do it on my own. To make a long story short, I rejoined this week, gaining back 19 lbs of what I had lost, but with a renewed determination to reach my goal!

2 dogs: that sucks! I have had those weigh in's. They suck. The important thing is that you get back on. You are always one meal away from a good meal.
mememegogirl
03-18-2009, 08:16 PM
2 dogs, don't let the 4 lbs discourage you too badly. We have all been in your shoes. I had a recent and similar experience and it was just what I needed to get back on track. Hang in there! I am glad you got some sleep. That helps any cause!
Teena...103 lbs! That is great! Way to go for continuing on in your efforts!
Jenni, so are you saying that CLAs aren't worth the effort? I am realizing more and more that I don't reallly have any clue what I am taking or why. That is my own fault... I should research more I suppose.
I think I might run out of chroms before my weigh-in Saturday. Will this matter much?
Jenni
03-19-2009, 09:03 AM
meme: I am not saying the CLA is a waste. I think it works differently on everyone and it didn't make much of a difference for me so I have stopped. I think anything is worth trying. As far as running out of Chrom., I am not sure how much of a difference it will make. I think the most important thing is to make sure your food intake is good and all should be well.

Hello! I just started the HM program on March 15th and have never been part of a forum before but you all sounded so supportive that I thought I'd give it a try! Any hints and tips for a new beginner?:)

Welcome Michele! Glad to have you! As for hints and tips... I would have to say that you should do your very best to stick as closely to the program as possible. The measuring of food and the journalling are crucial. Go in to the centre as often as possible and take your supplements. I know I'm not saying anything that your centre wouldn't say but maybe hearing it from one of us might help you do that much better at the start here.
Again.. welcome :)

I heard something interesting today from the centre..
You should eat protein BEFORE starch as it (starch) can convert to sugar easier by itself..Protein kicks your metabolism into gear!!
mememegogirl
03-20-2009, 06:15 PM
That is interesting.... I've always made myself eat my veggies first. I wonder how that comes into play with the protein and starches?
MicheleR
03-20-2009, 07:30 PM
Perhaps I should continue to eat my scrambled eggs for breakfast if that's the case!
It's so nice to see a group of people able to support each other... and you all seem to be doing quite well on your way to your goals!
I've stuck to the plan except I still chew gum everyday and couldn't find anything about it on the list so hoping it doesn't count... Also hoping that my measuring has been correct. I find it very difficult to figure out how much of solid foods (cauliflower, carrots, etc.) is equal to a cup.
Heading in for my first visit and weigh in tomorrow. My scale at home seems to be fluctuating quite a bit and at one point today read 3 lbs higher than my starting weight... I really hope this works 'cause I don't think I can stick to the plan any better (minus the gum!)
mememegogirl
03-21-2009, 11:48 AM
I too am a gum chewer.
The first weigh-in is exciting/scary. But I would bet you that you will be pleasantly surprised by it. Waterloss in the first little bit usually contributes to big numbers initiallly.
Speaking of the role of water and weight fluctuations... I HATE TOM! Seriously! If it isn't one thing it is another with me these days. First of all the problem with elimination and now TOM has to rear its ugly head right when I was feeling good about everything. UGH! All of that said... I am down 2.6lbs since last week. So that is ok... but I was certain it would be better because I feel different. BLAH! I am discouraged. In the overall scheme of things I still have only lost and gained the same 7lbs. Of course there was the weeks that I gave up and went back to old habits and gained the entire weight back and then some. So really.. I have lost 10 lbs and most of it in the last 3 weeks... but with the big picture I am very unhappy with myself. I want to do so much better. I have my minigoal in sight of losing 2lbs more minimum by next Saturday. But I am discouraged....... :(

Afternoon everyone!
I think one of the most important things is..our weight is JUST a number...it is how our clothes fit that really matters. If you are still up a lb but your clothes feel looser, than something is happenening...:carrot:
I was down a bit over 2 lbs this am...and my clothes don't feel any different...but by this weekend they WILL!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CHALLENGE!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should we have a one week challenge ladies??
Not to see who can lose the most weight...but WHO CAN STICK TO THE PROGRAM!!!!!
If you can do it..(honestly) I will have a gif made for you...not fancy, but with YOUR name!!![
I'll do the 1 week challenge!
LOL for me could be as simple as drinking water to excercise LOL
So, 6.5 lbs since Feb 24th! So I guess its not bad! Was hoping for a bigger # though!
Started the walking......not been doing it daily, but as much as I can, and I think its been 4 days out of 7 ;)
Hope you're all doing well :)
Do anyone of you have a before and during pic of yourself? Care to share......give insperation to some of us :D
The one week challenge sounds good and might be the inspiration I need after a very crappy weigh in. Only down one pound... I thought it would be more as I seem to be in the washroom every 45 minutes and could hardly make it the 50 minute drive into the city!
Is there anyone else here who started off slow in the first week? If so, can you please let me know that the numbers get better (but only if it's the truth)
Good job on the loss meme and dough girl! I too have to get exercising... although I did walk around the mall for a few hours today! haha
Meme, Dough, Michele, and anyone else
I think the rules should be simple...PUSH hard to follow your HM plan all week. That is as simple as it is...post your results on Saturday too. It doesn't matter if we lost the most or the least or inches..as long as we "stick to it"!
EVERY NIGHT YOU POST HERE HOW YOU DID....if you feel yourself lagging, ask for help!
tips..prepack your lunches the night before....write down on a pc of paper what you will eat the night before for the next day so you can follow it without thinking an getting frusterated!
Michele, do not worry about a slow start!!! which qlp program are you on??
for brekkie eat protein and starch...and some fruit.
I'm on QLP II for now until I get below 200. The staff said that after that I switch to smaller portion sizes (not sure if that's QLP I?). Wish I could have started on smaller portions... I seem to be eating (or thinking about it) all the time! I have noticed myself getting hungry more often now than before, so maybe that means my metabolism is kicking into a higher gear.
I noticed that the white ww bread counted as fewer points so I have been eating it since the begininng, but thanks for the info.
Lady: thanks for the challenge idea... I think everyone posting everyday will help us all stick to it!
P.S. Had a Breyers low cal ice cream sandwich as my free exchange yesterday - DELICIOUS! Although I'm sure you all already know that!
Michele...this is not a diet..think of it as redistribution...diet makes people think differently.
Also, write down what you are eating and when. lets see if there might be some changed one could make so that the food you are eating is more filling as well.
MicheleR
03-22-2009, 03:48 PM
Thanks for the daily breakdown!
Right now my eating feels all over the place, but for the most part my days have been:
Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs (1 Pro)
Snack - carrots (1 veg)
Lunch - sometimes leftovers, sometimes a sandwich. Usually 1 starch, 1 pro, 2 veg, 1 fruit, 1 fat
Snack - fruit
Supper - Usually meat and potatoes with a veg... although I have been trying to switch to sweet potatoes so that I don't have starch too late.
(1 pro, 1 veg, 1 starch, 1 fat)
Snack - smoothie (1 dairy, 1 fruit), Free Exchange
I'll try switching a few things around based on what you said earlier and see how that works!
Quick question: I have looked high and low for the salad spritzers... all of the grocery stores I have been to insist that they carry them but no one (including the workers) can find them. Are they in less-than-obvious spots in your grocery stores?
mememegogirl
03-22-2009, 05:31 PM
Hey Michele, I buy my salad spritzers from Safeway. I have always found them in the salad dressing aisle.
How many of you are egg white fanatics? I totally am! I am the omelette queen now!
Hmm... maybe too many Manitobans in my area are watching what they eat!!
I have checked Sobey's, Safeway, Shopper's Drug Mart and CO-OP and have turned up nothing!!
I really enjoy my FE (salad dressing isn't near as satisfying as my 100 cal packs or jello :)) so I guess I'll just wait it out for spritzers before I start into the salads!
mememegogirl
03-23-2009, 10:27 AM
You could always make your own with some balsamic vinegar and your fat portion.
I will keep my eye open for spritzers because I too am from Manitoba :)
