Hey Ladies! Got a question....

I've lost 15 pounds, yea! I can tell already that I'm a little thinner. I'm liking the way my legs look got a little bit more of a curve when I look in the mirror. I've gone down a size at least (depending on what it is), I can button some of my shirts that I couldn't before. I'm feeling great! When I look in the mirror I feel good. Which from what I have read from most people on him is the opposite of what people feel.

And then...... I see a picture of me and I feel awful! I feel that I can't see any change. I know it's only 15 pounds but it's funny to me that I can see it when I look in the mirror and other people are noticing and then I see a picture and I look bigger than I see when I look in the mirror.

Am I losing my mind? Does anyone have advice or has gone through the same thing? I'm in desperate need of advice or I guess encouragement. It doesn't make me want to quit my new healthy regiment if anything it's helping me for motivation, just curious if this is normal. :?:

All I can say is be patient. I lost 30 pounds last summer and while I could feel it and see it in the mirror every picture I took of the new me seemed to look exactly the same as the old me. Only recently (after 1 year of maintaining) have I been able to go back and finally see the difference in my pictures. I really can't explain why I can now see and didn't then, but I wouldn't be too hard on yourself it will probably take time. Also since your quite tall (I'm 5'10" as well) weight loss is a lot more subtle.
Congrats on the 15 pound loss!!!

15 pounds is a great start. Sometimes it is hard to noice when you first start losing. I know I was jaded on how big I actually was when I started losing so it was hard for me to notice my weight loss. I know other people really didn't start saying anything until I lost like 50 pounds. All I can tell you is to be patient it will come.

I too will try to stay away from pictures until my goal. Pictures are too harsh to handle. I have seen a pic of me recently too and I just want to cringe.

You're definitely NOT going crazy...

I've lost nearly 16 pounds... .2 to go! :) and some people are seeing a change... and I'm noticing that my clothes are fitting better... but I still don't SEE it...

You're definitely not alone!

Pictures are just painful. don't let it get you down. What you've done is something to congratulate yourself over. :)

You're doing great! Pictures are hard, and I feel your pain... it seems like I always look much larger than I feel when I see a picture of me. Just keep up the hard work!

i am sooo with you on this, when i look at myself in the mirror i look thinner and when my pants fall off me i know something has changed but most pictures i take i still look as big as ever and its sooo frustrating. there are pics of me from the same day though one where i look enormous and one where i look thin...i cant believe they were even from the same day...i blame the cameras. i say- lets stick to the mirror, otherwise, oy, i dont even want to think about it

ug, cameras. I run from them. I don't even recognize myself in photos, which I think is kinda weird. I think stick with how you feel. And congrats on 15 lbs!! That is amazing!!

I have trouble telling in pics. I can see small things. I'm hoping when school starts back up people will notice and tell me :D
