I read this in and Employee newsletter and thought I'd pass it on:

The average American female body has 36% fat. The recomended range is 20%-27%, depending on age.

The average male body has 26%fat. The recomended range is 15%-23%, depending on age.
tip: ways to measure body fat include (1)skinfold with calipers (2)bioelectrical impedance, and (3) ultrasound scanning.

The more lean weight(muscle) you have, the less likley you are to create and store fat.

The more muscle you have, the more body fat and calories you burn, wether active or inactive.

Muscle tissue is lost through weight loss and\or lack of use.

Muscle tissue is strengthened by overloading it.

Strong muscles burn more energy (calories) than weak muscles.

Excercise builds and preserves muscle while it burns body fat.

Weight lifting strengthens specific muscles. Areobic excercise improves cardiovascular health and reduces fat stores throughout your body.

Increased metabolism continues for 3-6 hours after excercise.

The last place on your body you tend to deposit fat is ther first place you tend to loose it.

For most people, excercising 4-5 days a week is the minumum requirement for improving or maintaining fitness, including weight control.

Hope you all find this as informative as I did.:D
