What are everyone's plans for the 4th?
Not much happening this way. I will be at my parent's house and they never really have a big party or anything. It's usually just us with some ribs and all the fixins. I still look forward to it though because it's time spent with the family.
07-03-2008, 11:15 AM
Well Dori, I think I'll be spending the 4th at the hospital. My hubby got sick again last night (vomiting blood). I called the rescue, and they took him to a local hospital. He was then transferred to a larger hospital about an hour away where his liver specialists are. He is in ICU. They called this morning at 6:30 to say he had been doing well up until about 15 minutes before and he started vomiting again. The doctor was with him when it happened. Tim is getting out of the shower now, and we are headed for Dayton. Long day ahead of us I'm sure.
Take care everyone.
07-03-2008, 11:27 AM
Tammy - Sorry to hear that Bob isn't doing well. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
07-03-2008, 12:30 PM
what is dori short for? i have a friend that we call dori, and so far, she is the only one i have met.
07-03-2008, 01:27 PM
Oh Tammy! Hugs & love & prayers! Keep us posted!
07-03-2008, 04:09 PM
Tammy, everyone here is praying for you, Bob and Tim.
Dori, thanks so much for starting us off this month. It's going to be a good one, weight-wise. :):):)
Jeanne, you'll take off that vacation weight in no time. ;)
4th plans--we used to go see the fireworks. But, it's just so hot here that now we watch them on TV.
This year, we're going across town and spend the night in a hotel. :carrot:
Larry went to the neurologist this morning. He said that the instant black-out wouldn't happen again (I hope). It had some big name that I can't remember. Just to be on the safe side, Larry will have a CT scan of his head.
Susan, how are you feeling?
Maureen, can't you find a computer that works? I miss you!
07-03-2008, 08:01 PM
Thanks for starting us off Dori!! You must be feeling much better.
Tammy, Prayers are on the way!!!! Keep us posted.
Tina, finally feeling better. I called the dr on Tuesday and she called me in something. I knew it wasn't going to go away on its own. Glad Larry is better. I know you will be happy after the CT scan.
Jeanne, any big plans for the 4th?
We are going to cook out and watch the surrounding fireworks. Nothing too exciting.
07-03-2008, 08:34 PM
Well my full name is Doretha, but I've always been called Dori. Now that I've gotten older I have tried to revert back to being called Doretha, but 28 years of being called Dori make it a bit hard. :)
07-03-2008, 10:30 PM
Thanks for all of the prayers ladies! I don't really know anything new. He is still in ICU. He is joking around with the nurses, so I think that is a good sign. Now if they could just figure out what is causing the nausea and blood.
Tina, I love to just get away like that. Going to my niece's wedding last week and staying all weekend was so nice even though I was alone. I am glad that Larry is having the scan of his head. Let us know how things are going with him.
susan, the kitten is so pretty!!!
Hey Doretha! My real name is Tamara, but I have been called Tammy since I was born I think.
07-03-2008, 11:59 PM

07-05-2008, 05:07 PM
Bob, Tammy's husband, passed away this afternoon at 12:45 pm ET.
She said he went downhill yesterday.
Let's all remember she and Tim in our prayers.
07-05-2008, 07:33 PM
May Bob be at peace. Tammy and Tim, You are in my prayers. Know I am thinking about you.
07-05-2008, 09:42 PM

07-07-2008, 10:08 AM
Tammy - I'm so sorry to hear about Bob. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. May God comfort you during this time.
07-07-2008, 12:29 PM
It is impossible to write something "upbeat" when we are grieving for Tammy and her family.
Instead, I'm sending a great WW recipe. (I've shared it before.)
Key Lime Pie
Serves 8. 3 Points per serving
1 Reduced fat graham cracker pie crust
1 Pkg. (4 servings) sugar-free lime Jell-O
1/4 cup boiling water
2 containers, lime pie flavor light yogurt
1 container (8oz.) fat-free whipped topping, thawed
Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water. Stir in yogurt with wire whisk. Fold in whipped topping with a wooden spoon.
Spread in crust.
Refrigerate overnight or at least 2 hours.
This is good in the summer.
07-07-2008, 03:08 PM
Hi Tina! I've made this and it is delicious!!!! Thanks for reminding me!
07-07-2008, 10:38 PM
Hi guys. Just wanted to let you know that we're doing ok. Tonight was the visitation at the funeral home. So many people. Lots of tears, but I think we held up pretty good. The first principal that I worked for came through with his wife! I was shocked. It really meant alot.
Tomorrow is the funeral, and I know that it will be hard. I still can't believe I won't hear his voice or see him come through the door anymore.
I was supposed to serve on an Emmaus Team this weekend, not sure if I had mentioned that. I'm a logistics person, so I am out and about setting up rooms, lighting candles, cleaning toilets, etc. I still plan to do it. A couple people have told me they think I'm nuts, but I think it will be good for me. Then Sunday night, Tim and I leave for Lafayette, IN, stay in the Holiday Inn Express overnight, pick up his gf Monday morning and head for Michigan. I know Bob would have wanted us to go through with these plans.
That's all for now.
07-08-2008, 10:24 AM
We are with you in spirit today, at the funeral.
Don't do too much now.
07-08-2008, 10:36 AM
Tammy - Ditto on what Tina said! We wish we could be there!
07-08-2008, 10:45 AM
Tammy - Wish we could be there with you in person. Know that we are there in spirit. :hug:s
07-08-2008, 11:52 AM
Good morning-Tammy you know we're all there with you-wouldn't it be nice if we could arrange to meet up at some central point? It is doable you know
07-08-2008, 08:37 PM
Hello everyone. This morning the sun was shining, and it was absolutely beautiful. The funeral went well. To get to the cemetary, you have to cross railroad tracks in town. Well, not only did the procession from the funeral home get stopped for one train, then a short break, then another train came through and stopped part of the procession. Tim and I cracked up. Bob and one of his best friends both liked trains, but they always commented on how it was a pain in town when the trains would go through town. The American Legion was going to do a military ceremony at the cemetary. We had asked if there was a way to have them as pall bearers when we got out there. The guy in charge told us they never have enough people for the honor guard and pall bearers. We got there, and there were more than enough! We were pleased because we knew that Bob would have been pleased since those guys were his friends.
I'll try not to keep talking about things. Bear with me!!
Maureen, I think meeting up somewhere would be wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
07-08-2008, 09:36 PM
Tammy you keep talking as long as you like-as for meeting up I hope there's someone who's better in geography than I am LOL-as far as I can tell Montana is the first state below Alberta-so where do we go from there?-It would be great though wouldn't it-
07-08-2008, 11:13 PM
Tammy, I'm so glad it was a pretty day. That's wonderful that so many of Bob's friends got to go.
Wow, the procession was stopped by two trains. What a hoot! (I couldn't resist. )
Like Maureen said, you can talk all you want.
Maureen, I'll have to get out my map. :)
07-09-2008, 12:59 PM
Tammy - I'm glad that it was a beautiful day. And like Maureen said you keep talking as long as you need. I would love to meet up with you all. Just let me know and I will try my best to get there. :)
07-09-2008, 02:32 PM
It's so hot here today! I need to run to the store but don't want to get out of the a/c. I don't want to think how high the light bill will be this time. :o
Jeanne, when is your surgery?
Dori, are you feeling pretty good? It takes time to get the anesthesia out of your system.
Maureen, don't get too tired with all that work.
Susan is surely having fun this week.
Tammy, how are you doing? I'll bet you have a lot of food around your house.
It's a pretty good OP day for me. Fruit and veggies are on sale. I'm going to stock up.
07-09-2008, 05:05 PM
Tina - I'm feeling pretty good. We're down at Mexico Beach, FL until Saturday I think. My husband's family has a beach house there and it's their week to have it. I'm going to watch the sunset tonight and wake up early to catch the sunrise. Believe it or not I have never seen the sunrise or sunset on the beach. I'm hoping to get some good pictures. It took about 5 days for the anesthesia to get out of my system. It seems as though I spent the whole day sleeping for about 5 days. I'm trying to get back OP, but it's a little hard being on vacation. Well I suppose I have rambled enough. Talk to you all later.
07-09-2008, 06:50 PM
just wanted to say Sorry Tammy about Bob. You are in my prayers, hope all if well. Just keep your head up high :)
07-09-2008, 07:15 PM
Hi Amy, how are you doing!!! :)
07-09-2008, 08:54 PM
Hello Amy. Like Tina said, how are things with you?
07-10-2008, 12:08 AM
Thanks for all of your concerns everyone. I feel so comfortable talking to all of you. I want to meet!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are doing ok, and yes, there is alot of food. I was taking things to neighbors today. There is no way we could ever eat all this stuff. (now if it was chocolate, that would be another story!)
I don't know if I'll be back on till after the weekend. I plan to take the laptop to Michigan with us.
Take care, and behave yourselves!!!
07-10-2008, 09:47 AM
Good Morning Ladies!
Tammy - Thats right - you keep on talking that is why we are here~ I'm a very sentimental/emotional girl so I "feel" what you're saying!:o
Oh - and I loved the train story!
Tina - Hi! My surgery is the 15th!:o:o My father in law had back surgery yesterday. He looked good last night, but the dr. said that his heart struggled a little. He went in at 8:20 a.m. and we saw him at 8:00 p.m. And...........in the middle of all of that, my daughter graduated from Beauty School! What a day!
Amy - Hello!
Dori - I'm jealous!!! All this beach talk!!!! I wanna go back to the beach!!!! Waaaa-waaaa!
**glad your feeling good!
Maureen - Meet.........woohoooo, wouldn't that be fun! I'd be there!;)
Well off to work I am!!!
Everyone have a great day!
07-10-2008, 09:49 AM
Tammy - PS - I could definately arrange for the chocolate to get there~! hahah!
You just yell if you need it!
07-10-2008, 09:21 PM
Hi My Friends,
Back from our trip!!! It was a BLAST!!! Let's just say I better have hiked off some pounds.
Believe it or not, Today 4 years ago, my son was born! What a day! To honor him, every year, I make french toast. When I was pregnant I wanted it all the time and he did flips so I know he loved it too. I told Pat that we would be having it today and he said "Why?" I reminded him it was Seamus' birthday. He said "That boy REALLY liked the french toast." I know in Heaven there is the grandest birthday party for him.
Tammy, Honey, you talk ALL you want!! I'm glad you and Tim are going on the trip. Yes, Bob would want you too!!
Tina, can you believe on our trip it didn't get above 84 degrees? It was great!
Maureen, a get together would be great!!! Now we have to decide where?
Jeanne, I could use the chocolate!!! :)
My brother in law go the job!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for my sister!!!!
My Amy has decided to move her kids out of the Catholic school they are in and move them to another school. I am SO glad she is. I wish she would have done it a long time ago.
07-10-2008, 11:31 PM
Dearest Susan, It's hard to believe that it's been 4 years.
:hug::hug::hug:s for you and Pat.
07-11-2008, 09:53 AM
Hi Susan! Welcome Back!!!!
**Happy Birthday to Seamus** I'm sure the party was grand!
07-11-2008, 09:52 PM
Pat mowed and I did laundry and stuff inside. I did help mow a tiny tiny bit. Then we had our french toast. I said at dinner "Happy Birthday Seamus" Pat said "I wonder if they have french toast in Heaven?" I said "of course!!!" He said "My grandmother probably made it for him." I teared up!
Today we drove back to the Oklahoma border to go to the casino. We broke even then we drove to the Texas visitor center to look around. Finally, we ended up in a German town we had been to before and had the best late lunch or early dinner. Then back home.
07-12-2008, 05:57 PM
I'm finally back and y'all didn't even miss me.
My computer went pooey yesterday morning. Larry just got it going now. It was something that made it "uncheck" a box that lets you on the internet.
Boy, I missed my computer!
Hope all have a great weekend.
Texas is having really, really hot weather right now.
Susan, stay out of the heat. :)
07-13-2008, 09:27 AM
Good morning all. We're packing up and getting ready to go back home. I plan on doing an official weigh in today and getting my butt in gear. This weight must come off. I will check in again when I get home.
07-13-2008, 11:34 AM
Have a safe trip home Dori!!!
That makes 2 of us that must get this weight off!!!!
07-13-2008, 04:06 PM
Alright/Already, I'm also serious about losing some pounds. :D
Dori, I hope you have a safe trip home. I know you'd rather stay at the beach.
Tammy, how was your Emmaus weekend??? You and Tim have a safe trip!!!
Jeanne, are you nervous about your upcoming surgery? I wish we could all be there with you.
Maureen, how's it going? did you do something special on your holiday?
It's so hot here and I don't want to do a thing. Tomorrow, I'll get out the treadmill and turn on the fan in front of me.
07-14-2008, 11:06 AM
I'm starting today...... however, next week I go to Galveston for a conference for most of the week. I'm getting ready to exercise in a little while.
Tina, I always have the fan on me when I exercise. It's so funny.
Tammy, Ya'll enjoy your trip with Tim and have a safe time!!!
Jeanne, You know we would be there supervising the doctor if we could! :D Know we will be there in spirit.
Maureen, Is it hot there?
Dori, did you return safely? How are you feeling?
Well off to shower before I exercise! I know it's silly but I have to wake up first and I'm not doing to good this morning of waking up. We always laugh I clean up to get all hot and sweaty or do anything. I've always been that way.
I think I'll report on my day food wise later in the day for some accountability.
07-14-2008, 12:56 PM
We got home safely and now we're at my parents house for 2 weeks. My dad is an over the road truck driver and mom has decided to go with him so we are watching the kids for them. It should be fun. :) I did an official weigh in today and I'm at 183.4. Not that bad, but not that good either. So today my journey begins.
07-15-2008, 12:16 PM
Jeanne, we are all thinking about you today. Whenever you feel up to it, please let us hear from you.:hug::hug:
Tammy, how are you and Tim doing?
07-15-2008, 08:32 PM
Hi all-well, today I turned 61 and except that I'm never happy with the way I look I feel really great because I just got back from roller blading!!! Not bad for an old broad-I think I just missed the rain-I hope you're all doing great-talk to you later
07-15-2008, 10:52 PM
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday Dear Maureen.....
Happy Birthday to YOU!!!!!
You should be VERY PROUD of yourself!!!!!:bday2you::balloons::bday2:
07-15-2008, 11:03 PM
I hope you had a super day!!!!!
07-16-2008, 04:23 PM
Hi Friends! Happy Belated Birthday Maureen!:celebrate:
Well, yesterday was my colonoscopy, bi-opsy and endoscopy! Urgh! (I',m sure I didn't spell any of that correctly....) The doctor said he didn't feel that there was cancer present. wooooosh! He did say that the diverticulosis was very present and that I would have a 50% chance of reaccurance. I am suppose to be on a high fiber diet now. Which, I try to be anyways. So...............thats that! ;) Thank you so much for thinking of me!
Have a great day everyone and I'll be back tomorrow! I have a ton of stuff to get done!
07-16-2008, 04:26 PM
Jeanne, that's a big relief. I'm glad that's over with for you. :):):)
07-17-2008, 11:00 AM
Jeanne - Glad that everything went okay and it's over.
Maureen - Happy Belated Birthday.
07-18-2008, 09:03 AM
Jeanne, glad your test are over with!!!! I know that's a relief!
Dori is better!!! Yea!!!
Tina, how are you feeling? Any better?
Tammy, hope you and Tim are having fun!!!!
I'm getting ready to go to Galveston for a conference. I'm excited to just be going out of town. I'll be back on Thursday. I leave on Monday.
07-18-2008, 09:14 AM
I decided to do a tracker of just a small goal. I'm not sure if I should make it smaller but I thought it would be good to see some progress. What do you think, should I make it in 10 - 15 pounds increments? I have a lot more to lose but would like to see some success.
07-18-2008, 09:50 AM
There's not much going on around here. I've been very sick with some kind of virus. I must feel better today because I actually put on make-up.
Susan, a tracker with 10 or 15 pounds sounds good...which ever gives you more incentive.
Tammy, how are you?
Jeanne and Dori, are y'all feeling good now?
Maureen, any more roller blading lately?
07-18-2008, 10:40 PM
Me again! :)
Boy, my next week will be crazy. We are leaving Mother in the nursing home where she went after being in the hospital. So, we must go clear out all her things from the Assisted Living home.
There's so much to do. I feel so crummy. My sister has to go through some tests next week. My bil will have experimental treatment for his cancer.....and the list goes on.
However, I'm going to keep drinking all my water and losing weight. I must do that.
There, I've talked to much.
07-19-2008, 12:03 AM
Hello all. We are home. Computer problems on the trip, so I didn't check in. I am headed to bed. I walk at 6 in the morning for Relay for Life. I'll read and post more tomorrow or the next day.
07-19-2008, 11:07 AM
It has been a crazy week.
Tina, I didn't know you were moving your mother again. You poor thing!! When I was sick 2 weeks ago it lasted about 10 days. On day 4, I decided to call the doctor and get something sent out for me. Take care of yourself!!!
Tammy, glad you are back! How was the trip? Wow walking at 6, at least it will be cool.
I finished my presentation for next week. I'm not looking forward to do going but plan on having a good time. My buddy that is going to be working with me isn't going this year! But my other friend is going and we are in the same van. Only 4 of us in the van and we don't really know the other 2 people so we said, "we are driving and that's that." This year they are making everyone go in vans but they aren't putting that many people in the vans.
I will be out of pocket Monday - Thursday of next week. I might try and post if I get to a computer.
07-19-2008, 12:06 PM
Tina - Sorry to hear that you're having to move your mom once more. It seems as though the older we get the harder moves get. I'll be praying that everything goes smoothly.
Tammy - Glad that you and Tim made it back safely. Enjoy the walk and try to take it easy.
Susan - Have a safe trip to Galveston and enjoy the conference. I think 10 lb increments would be good. I'm thinking of changing my ticker as well. Knowing that 60 something lbs is staring me in my face is a bit daunting.
Jeanne - How are things your way?
07-19-2008, 11:43 PM
Tammy, welcome home.
07-20-2008, 11:35 PM
How was everyone's Sunday?
I did really good OP until dessert tonight. :D I know, I used my flex points. We had a pint of Blue Bell Banana Split ice Cream. Wow, it was good. I kept telling myself that I was getting my calcium.
Jeanne, you've been quiet. How are you feeling?
I hope everyone has a great Monday.
07-21-2008, 12:00 PM
The weekend was okay for me. I didn't stay OP, but I don't think I went overboard either. I plan on walking on the treadmill today and then next week I will start back at the local gym. :)
07-21-2008, 02:15 PM
Dori--:bravo: for your exercising. I need to get back to my treadmill.
07-21-2008, 04:42 PM
Hi everyone!!!! I have been so busy with graduations, wedding showers and july birthdays!!!!!
I wanted to let you girls know that I made 3 recipes from our "recipe thread"!
I made stuffed mushrooms........
crab & bacon (turkey) cups
& lemon custard cake
ALL TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!! Super good, low fat, low calories and low points. I recommend these for any occasion.
Well my husband wants to go see Dark Night (Batman) tonight! Urgh......but my thought is, if I go with him tonight he will go to Mama' Mia with me tom. night?!?!? I had a terrible OP day!!! TOM is visiting and I have eaten sooooo much candy today!!! :(:(:(:(
Health wise - I have felt good! I'm really tired these days, but I think from running so much.
Tammy - Hi! Thinking of you? How are you and Tim holding up? How was your trip?
Tina - Hi! How are things with you? Banana Split Ice Cream.........ahhhhhhhh! My daughter got a job at the Dairy Queen. So, guess who has been eating a ton of ice cream? Yep, me!!!!! Now we have the best of both worlds.........She works part time for a candy store and part time for an ice cream store! Are we lucky or what?!?!?!?
Susan - Hi! Have a great trip. I think a ticker with a "reasonable" goal is a great idea!!!
Dori - Hi! Are you all unpacked and settled back in from the beach?
Can you guys believe it is time to start school shopping? I yi yi.....where does time go?
Well, have a great night and talk to you later!
07-22-2008, 04:47 PM
I hope it's a good OP day.
Jeanne, how was the Dark Knight movie? It's getting so much attention. It doesn't do a thing for me. Are you going to see Mama Mia tonight? What did your husband say about going to it? Larry calls it a "chick flick."
Dori, how's the exercising on your treadmill coming? I'm over my Yuck now so I'll get back to using mine.
Tammy, we miss you on the threads. Post when you feel like it, please!!! :D
Susan is in Galveston and she's having rain.
Tropical Storm Dolly is heading for the far south point of TX. This means that all the rest of Texas' coast area will get much needed rain.
I'm ready for some. It should move inland tonight and we'll get it tomorrow.
Jeanne, I'll have to try some of those recipes you talked about.
Maureen, how are you doing?
07-23-2008, 03:20 PM
The hurricane is so far south of us that we're not even getting much rain. We had lots of lightening and some rain early this morning. It looks threatening but that's about it.
Everyone is pretty quiet right now.
I'm OP. :)
07-24-2008, 12:32 PM
Everyone come on over to the weigh-in results thread and post your losses.
07-24-2008, 10:56 PM
Hi gang. Just thought I'd stop in and say hello. Things are ok. I have good moments and not so good moments. I have made some major decisions this week even though people told me not to make decisions right away. lol
Decision #1. I am getting a puppy. A dachsund that should be smaller than Kramer was. Should get him (her?) the end of September. Not sure if they are born yet or not.
Decision #2. I will still be going to Georgia in the winter. I cancelled the 2 bedroom unit, and I plan to get a 1 bedroom. I will take the puppy with me. bob's nieces plan to come while I'm there and spend some time, and so does his brother and sil. Also Tim will be down. In fact, Tim will drive down with me, spend a few days, then fly back. He'll fly down for a long weekend sometime, and then he'll fly back down in march and drive home with me.
Decision #3. Bob and I were in the process of checking out mattresses online, and we had planned to go shopping for a new one when he felt better. We had looked at Sleep Number beds and Tempur-pedic ones online. We knew that the TP ones would be good for me with the arthritis and fibro, but he wasn't sure he liked them. Well, I went shopping today and picked out a tempur-pedic. It isn't one of the most expensive ones, but it isn't one of the cheapest ones either. I am going from a king size to a queen.
Decision #4. We bought our bedroom suite in 1991. It was one of the least expensive ones, and we had talked for a while about replacing it. I'm going to give it to Tim to use in his apartment, and I am buying a new suite. It is lighter wood than what we have, so it will really brighten up the bedroom. It has never had a headboard, just the frame, so really all Tim is getting is the dresser with mirror, 2 nightstands, and the chest. He is thrilled. I will be getting a headboard with the new suite, dresser with mirror, chest, and 1 nightstand. I decided I didn't really need 2. If I decide that I want one, they can order one. It set was on sale (!!!!!) so that is the best part.
Ok. That's all for now. I'll try to be better about getting on and posting. I need to head in and take a shower. Both aerobics classes tomorrow, finalize stuff at the furniture store, and go to the chiropractor.
Bob gave us the most beautiful sunset tonight. At least that's what Tim and I were thinking. I should have taken a picture.

Happy Friday :carrot:
It's going to get hot again now. We got lots of rain and the yard is very appreciative.
Remember I gave y'all that WW key lime pie recipe? I got all the stuff to make one. Yummy! That should be good this weekend.
Tammy, you've been one busy person. I think most of your decisions are perfect. I say most because I don't know if it would be good to stay away, in GA, for that many months. Even with people visiting, it seems like it would be so lonely for you without Bob. Just my thoughts.
Dori, what's going on with you?
Jeanne, I'll be you are out buying school supplies and clothes. Yuck! When do the schools start there?
Susan, did you collapse after getting back home. I'm glad you didn't have to go through a hurricane. :D That would've made one interesting conference.
Maureen, please post!!!!!

Tina, thanks for being concerned about me!!! I won't be in Georgia as long as Bob and I planned to be. We were going to leave after Christmas, and we weren't coming home till April. I won't be going until January and Tim will be with me for a week or more, then he'll be down the first weekend in March, spend a few days, then we'll be driving home. The main reason that I want to go is because I realized last year how much better I feel down there. I didn't realize how much difference the weather makes. I didn't take any pain meds the entire time we were there last year even when I spent 2 solid days at Disney the end of February. It totally amazed me. Now I realize why one of my good friends moved to Arizona years ago. Bob even had checked out real estate prices there when he saw how much better I felt.
That recipe sounds so good. Maybe I'll go get the ingredients too!

I'm home. I did collapse today. I laid down on the couch and think I slept 2 hours. The conference was good but busy!!!! Then I stayed up late and had a good time each night with friends. It was good to be home.
Tina, I am VERY happy that I didn't go through a hurricane. We did get the rain and the tide was up. I was going to call you if I had time but didn't want you to come down until we knew what the hurricane was going to do.
Tammy, Good for you!!!! I'm glad that you are making those decisions!!! Why don't you move down here to Texas???? I thought of you and your fibro during my trip because legs and knees were killing me!!! It hurt to move... plus I had a headache each day.
I'm going to skip weighing this week. I don't want to cry since I know I'll be up :)

Hi All-I do come and read the posts most days-Tammy, I agree with Tina, I think you're making good decisions I don't know what the Americans call people who spend their winters in warmer climates, but we Canadians call them Snowbirds-so that's what I'll refer to you from now on lol
Everything here's fine-we've been getting nice weather but I sure haven't been sticking to program lately-I managed to get a urinary tract infection and I have a few more days left of the antibiotics-so I've been feeling a bit crappy.
I hope you all have a great weekend
07-26-2008, 11:53 AM
Let me just start by saying IT"S HOT!!!!! Now with that out of my system until I walk outside and melt, I'll be ok.
Maureen, that's ok to just come and read. We are glad you keep up with us and post sometimes. I'm sorry about the UTI, my little sister use to get them all the time as a kid and I remember how bad she felt. Drink lots! (Like I need to tell you that) :)
Snowbird Tammy, I like that!!!!! I would love to be able to join you but our winters are not bad, oh yeah... I still have to teach!! Darn!!!! Can you believe that school starts in a month and less than a month before I go back!!! UGH!!!
Tina, are you melting down there? Is it still humid?
Pat took our Bisquit to the vet yesterday. Poor thing hides all the time and then I have to force him to eat. Well he'll eat a few bites and then is finished. I crawl around on the floor with the food and he'll eat a little more. I was sure Pat wouldn't be coming home with him but he did. The vet said he has an upper respiratory infection and gave him antibiotics. Hopefully he'll eat a little more when he feels a little better. Pat said he has anywhere from 2-4 weeks probably. I just don't want him to suffer. He still purrs when you pet him and all so who knows.
Dori, how are you?
Jeanne, are you feeling any better?
I have to get back on track this week. I did pretty good yesterday. My trip blew me out of the waters :). It had to be the hurricane :D
07-26-2008, 02:37 PM
:getwell: Maureen. Where do Canadians go to get out of the cold?
Tammy, what brand is your bedroom furniture? We're going to buy some soon. We've always had a full size bed. We're going to get a queen.
Susan, I'm so sorry about Bisquit. Hiding means they feel rotten. The last couple of months, Smokey would stay under the bed. I'd take his food to him.
How's your new kitty?
I'm so disgusted with myself. Against my better judgement, I bought a half gallon of blackberry cobbler ice cream. In just a few short days, it was all gone. (I had help eating it---I wasn't a piglet.) My weight loss has stalled. Wonder why!
Everyone stay cool and OP.
07-26-2008, 02:51 PM
Tina-a lot of Canadians from the east go to Florida for the winter or at least a few weeks in the winter and out here in the west they usually go to Arizona, Hawaii or Mexico. I'd love to be able to do that-live here during the nice weather and then right after Christmas go south somewhere. I do like the changing seasons I just find that winter seems too long sometimes.
07-28-2008, 09:53 AM
I woke up early. I've been up for over an hour!!! Silly girl, it's vacation still and I should be making the most of it!!!!! I had a bad migraine last night and dozed off and on in the chair then went to bed and crashed. I think that is why!!!
I'm not sure if my trainer and I are working out or not. She called on Friday morning and said she would call back.... she never did. I didn't have this week scheduled so I'm not going. It's too far to just go and have her not show up again. I'll go to the gym close by or maybe not at all.
I'm looking at my "to do list" for the summer. I better get busy!!!! I'm putting in new self liner in the utility room. Pat was going to help me (like I can't do it) but he never did so it's going up today. The kitty is having fun with it.
That little kitty is a HANDFUL!!! I forgot how they chase everything and everything is a toy!!! He makes me laugh! Wish I had some of his energy.
Bisquit is hanging in there. He actually ate several times yesterday. That's with me taking the food to him and making sure that he is eating.
I have to tell ya'll something funny.... or I think it is! Pat has decided that we need to up the air conditioner during the day to like 76 degrees (we normally have it between 70-72) So then he leaves for work today, I just walk in to the den and kitchen and ALL the lights are on with the tv. So do you think upping the a/c is really helping. Honestly, I turn it down a little because I'm about to die and then up it if I'm leaving. My folks have theirs set at 78-80 and I melt. However, I am a little thicker :) than Pat so he probably doesn't even think it's that bad.
Ok, I've rambled enough.

Hi everyone! Wow, I had a ton of catching up to do!!! So sorry I haven't been around much. I have no "real" excuses for not being here, just a bunch of phoney ones. haha!
School doesn't start until Aug. 26th for my teeny bopper! But, I had the money and I wanted the end of summer sales. When the Back To School Stuff starts to appear.........I feel like I don't get as much on sale. Ya know what I mean?!?!? My daughter likes Hollister and Abercrombie, but I only let her buy it on sale........24 dollars or less!!!!! Thats my deal and I don't budge!!!!!!:p She doesn't even fight me on it anymore. hahaha!
Dark Knight - um, it was a good movie. Definately a "guy" movie, but I did manage to sit through it!;)
Mama Mia - um..............I don't know. I liked it, but I wouldn't see it again. I liked the cast and the setting.
I'm looking forward to Swing Vote. Did I ever mention that I was in love with Kevin Costner?:o hee! hee! I told my husband that if "Kevin" ever pulled up out front in a limo, that I would just have to go with him. But only him!!!! I think my husbands safe!;)
Well girls I'm at work and shouldn't be on here, but..........I MISSED YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!! Well, I'm gonna scoot and I'll catch up on personals real soon. Be good - have a great day - drink lots of water and stay OP!

Susan, I'd never be able to live in Texas. It gets too hot down there! It's hot enough for me in Ohio on the hot days. I can't believe it is the end of July, and you'll be headed back to school next month. My friends are already freaking out about it. lol Hope Biscuit is feeling ok today!! I laughed about the AC and the lights and tv on. Bob was always so cold the past few months, that I was lucky to get the AC turned on at all. I usually have it set between 72 and 74.
Tina, the blackberry cobbler ice cream sounds just yummy!!! The bedroom furniture is the Ashley brand, and it is called Bittersweet. You can go to the Asley furniture website and check it out.
I'm meeting a couple friends for lunch today, and then later my brother and sil are coming to take Tim and I out for dinner. Their boys are at band camp this week, so it will just be the 4 of us.
We went up to the Eagles last night for a soda and to bug the bartender. She's been a friend for several years. Quite a few people there that I know, and they are all concerned about me after Tim goes back to school. I think they are plotting how to get me out of the house. lol
07-29-2008, 10:28 PM
Well nothing exciting happened today except a trip to the dentist for a cleaning. I love the way it feels after you get your teeth clean.
Tammy, I'm glad ya'll went up to the bar. I know it was hard but it probably did ya'll all good. I know it will be hard once Tim goes back to school. Right after Seamus died, my good friend called me everyday to ask me "what are you doing today and where are you going?" Friends  are the best!!!!
Tina, how are you doing?
Maureen are you feeling better?
Jeanne, I love the popcorn at the movies more than I do the movies!!!! Give me popcorn and I'm a happy girl. Pat wants to go this weekend and we never go!!! He wants to see Black Knight and something else (I can't remember :)
07-29-2008, 11:14 PM
Dori, you've been so quiet. Are you busy buying back-to-school things?
Jeanne, I think you are very wise giving your daughter a price limit.
Maureen, I'm with Susan, how are you feeling? Lots better, I hope.
Susan, are you burning up? It was so hot here today. I was going to Target but just didn't want to park so far away and have to walk. It just wasn't worth "frying" out in that sun. I'm sure I melted off some pounds just getting into a hot car.
Tammy, I like your bedroom set. Are you getting the sleigh bed? I've always wanted one. I also want a queen size one. You will stay busy when Tim leaves. There will always be times when nothing will help. It's just the way life is---we sure don't have to like it but that's that. :(
I'm hoping for a loss on Thursday. I've been so good this week.
07-30-2008, 07:37 PM
Hello all. I'm busy with housework and trying to get the house in order before I have to return back to work on August 7th. I will be going into work tomorrow for a bit to start getting my room ready. We have 5 days of Pre-Planning, but that is filled with meetings and we don't have a lot of time to work in our rooms.
I had been planning to work in the yard some. It needs a lot of work. However, when I was mowing a gentleman that went to my school with my mom drove by and stopped. He is willing to cut the grass, trim hedges, cut low tree limbs, trim back some badly overgrown areas, and rake for a great rate. I can't wait to see what it will look like.
Tomorrow I have my first WI at WW's. I'm actually looking forward to it.
07-30-2008, 10:51 PM
Pat worked from home today. I took his car to get inspected. I mentioned to the guy, I wished they could do the truck (it's a 1988 jeep truck) He said, "I can do it." So I rushed home and told Pat. The truck has no a/c!!! So I rushed back up there with the truck. It passed. The last couple of years, I've taken it to the Jeep dealer and it takes a couple of hours.
Dori, I need to work in my room too but I don't want to go up there! I think it's denial. :D I don't look forward to the meetings.
Tina, Yes melting is the correct word! They say it's suppose to be in the 100's for the next week.
Tammy, did you get your new bed? We need one too!
07-31-2008, 06:40 PM
WOOHOO!!! I have excellent news. I weighed in this morning and I lost a whopping 3.8 lbs. I could barely believe my eyes. I've gone a little off track today, but not too far. I still have my weekly 35 points I can use. I can't wait for next week. Still trucking along with work at school.
07-31-2008, 06:54 PM
Dori, that's such great news!!!!!
I'm going to post it on our weigh-in results thread.
07-31-2008, 09:10 PM
Way to go Dori!!!!! I hope you rub off on me!!!! I think I might need help this week.
I talked to a friend of mine today. I was telling her how my cousin (who is larger than I am) is doing a marathon for Lymphoma. Anyway, I am so proud of my cousin. I told my friend that I would like to start doing some races but I didn't have anyone that would do them with me. She said "I will." We are going to do some together. So I think we are going to start with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in October. It's a 5k (I think) She is trying to lose weight too. I never see her but I said we could work on it together.

I'm starting a new August Chatters, now!
