Here we go! I haven't had breakfast yet, am getting out my journal folder and am starting fresh. I've got my H2O glass by my side. What a great way for us to welcome SPRING!!!

Good luck to us all. :D

My mind will definitely be off of food, I've got a whole day of studying/homework facing me. Midday I'm taking a break to exercise; if it's not raining I'm going to walk. Otherwise I'll do weight toning. My goal is to alternate each day.

Whoops - here's my post from 120 (pg.6) - I didn't see 121.

Sandy - A PIA is a Pain-in-(the)-***, Excuse my french! Glad to hear you're ready for the spring challenge - Es had a great idea. Good luck to all of us! Sorry to hear about your long drive to visit you mom. I'm about 25 mins. from the hospital my mom is in, but there's always a ton of traffic on the highway we have to take, so it seems longer. Hope she mends quickly.

Janie - Congrats on maintaining - good job! If you don't make your goal by July (3.5 more lbs???), I will shoot you! OMG, you are soooooooooo close to goal, fantastic! Thanks for the pep talk - I will
reach my goal!!! We ALL will!

Hi again everyone else - Have a good one!

Dianne

Hi Chicago Ms,
We're neighbors....I grew up on the NW side......have transplanted to Wheeling (NW burb). Nice to see you here.

Es, good job on a good day!

I got quite a bit done today; besides studying and a walk, I was able to do 6 or 7 loads of laundry  where does it come from???????

good luck tomorrow, girls. We'll all be flaunting it in June!

Good Evening Ladies.....

Well, I made it through today. We went out for dinner tonight and to Home Depot so I was thinking "no way will I do the treadmill tonight"......"I'll be too tired, too full from having dinner late"......anyway, I DID do the treadmill!! I am so proud of myself. :)

Jen ~ I'm so glad to hear that there is some other household that has as much laundry as mine. I think that's considered EXERCISE. :)

ChicagoMs ~ So glad that you found us. Jump right in...it's great here. Our Spring Challange is that we can lose 10% of our current weight by the end of spring, the first day of summer. We started today so you're just in time. Some of us are going to post our stats this way ~ currentWt/10%/lbs lost on that 10%. Example if I started at 150 (that's a dream ok??)
150/15/4 ~ anyway, welcome in!!

Es ~ have you dried out yet? We finally had sun this afternoon, first time in al,\most 2 days. Nothing but rain and thunder. It's supposed to get warmer as the week wears on.

Dianne ~ I sent you an email

Hi to everyone else.
Hope y'all did great on this first day of SPRING

Hi guys:

Okay here goes:

158.2/15.8/8.2

I think that's right - its my original weight, how much I have to lose for the 10% and how much I've lost so far. Is that the way to do this? HELP!!!
:dizzy:

Hi Chicago - welcome! Glad to have you.

Can't address everyone right now, but thinking of all of you. Will come back tonight.

Zoe - I'll check my e-mail at home tonight and thanks!

Good morning everyone,
I am a terrible example for all of you. Here it was the first day of our challenge and I blew it already. Yesterday I really thought I was doing well, but one of my co-workers who knows that I love cats and Key Lime Pie brought in some KLP especially for me. Of course I had to try some and I really only took a tiny piece, he wanted me to take more and I politely refused saying that I am on WW. I even figured in what I thought those extra points would add to my total. Well, I had no idea that KLP is probably the highest concentration of points of any food on the planet. The points according to my book were twice what I expected so I ended up 3 points over, on our first day. Oh well, If you start at the bottom there is only up from here. I did walk 4 miles though. That should have worked off at least 1 of those extra KLP points. Anyway, congratulations to all of you who stayed OP. You are awesome!!!

Tonight is girls night out with Ellen. I will have to be careful with my choices.

Have an OP Thur,
JanieD

Janie - just "shake it off" sweetie. And if you walked 4 miles, I truly believe you walked the whole 3 pts. off;) Anyway, don't sweat it, today's a new day! Have fun with Ellen tonight!

P.S. Everyone - just a quick update, because I think its some good news - I called the hospital and they said they took my mom off the respirator today:) They said not to get too excited, but they want to see if she can breathe on her own. I will see her tonight. Talk to you's later!

Hi Girls:wave:

Welcome ChicagoMs! The more the merrier. We talk about everything here. I don't know where I would be if it wasn't for this group. We support eachother thru good times & bad. Congratulations on your loss;)

Dianne, I can't help but to feel excited about the news. That's a good sign isn't it? I will continue to pray. Please keep us posted.

Janie my friend, dust yourself off & pick yourself up. No biggie. That KLP was yesterday & today is a new day. You burned some of it off already. Have a great time with Ellen.

Zoe, if I don't get on the treadmill as soon as I get home forget about it. There's always the next day. Maybe you can add an extra 5 minutes next time. :)

Jen, you were quite busy. I like being busy cause it keeps me from snacking. Are you going to get the walking tapes? I just ordered some tapes. I am such a sucker for these infomercials. I didn't even tell Pete cause he'll have a comment. They're called SlimInSix. Its resistance, kickboxing, stretching & yoga. I'll be getting them in a couple of weeks. Gotta keep myself motivated!

Myra, how are you?

I think everyone should just use the stats that are easiest for them.....some of us have more analytical minds (Janie) than others!

Dianne, good news about your Mom being taken off the respirator. And you're on your way to 10% for sure! way to go

Es, no I haven't ordered the Sansone tapes yet. I was thinking that the weather will break here soon, and then I'll be walking outside anyhow...so why bother....but I've got to stop making excuses to try putting off exercise.....will order them today. Thanks for the nudge... :o

We're having a cold spell here....only 10 degrees this morning, definitely not spring weather!

Morning buddies:

Zoe - Whoops - maybe I'm wrong!:o I used my info from ww - I started at 158.2 which meant my 10% goal would be 15.8 and since I started almost 9 weeks ago, I lost 8.2 (hopefully more tomorrow:smug: But if you want, I'll start with my current weight - 150.0/15/0. Actually, I like my first choice much better, I was already half way to my 10% :s:  but whatever you guys want, I'll do. Am I a cheater or what?:D

Jen - If you get the chance, get the Leslie Sansone tapes, I don't think you'll regret it. Even though the weather's changing, you could use them on rainy days, or if its too hot to walk outside. And, you'll still have them for next winter;) I really like them, I haven't gotten to the 3 miles yet, but I've done 1 and 2 and its amazing how fast you can get through the tapes and realize that you've just walked a mile or 2 - very cool. Its for people who's main exercise is walking and that's me and I think you too:D Anyway, I got them from Amazon for $25.00 for 3 tapes and those damn blue balls:lol: but if you have a Sam's Club where you are, I heard they're only $13.99.

Es - It was kind of exciting last night when I visited my mom. The respirator was off, she just had an oxygen mask. She opened her eyes for a longer period. When willie spoke to her, she actually smiled! When I told her I was there, she shook her head yes, but then when I asked her if she recognized me, she shook her head no. The doctor came over and said "its amazing, she's amazing". This was the doctor who said she wouldn't last more than a few days. She certainly is not out of the woods by a long shot, but this was encouraging, gave us some hope. She may not recognize me because the doctor said she had several small strokes. Either way, it was a good night.

Thanks all of you for your kind thoughts, prayers and just for being you guys - my buds, :)

Hi Zoe girl, myra (where are you?), Janie - hope you had fun with Ellen, Ruth, Pogo, 40X40 (where are you, too?), viola and Chicago Ms.

Dianne,
That is such encouraging news about your mom. I will continue to keep you and her both in my prayers. Thanks for the pep talk, I needed it.
You too Es!

Everyone,
My FIL. Mike, arrives today. We'll be driving into SF to pick him up from Steve's sister, Janet's house. We will also be eating dinner out again because today is Nik (Janet's DH) birthday. I have MIke's quilt almost finished. Just hand work left, so I won't need to kick him out of the guest room to use my sewing machine. If I stay up tonight after he goes to bed, I should be able to get it finished before the big day. 80 years old, wow :spin: BTW, we just found out he has a new girlfriend. He hasn't even been separated 3 months yet. The plot thickens.... I have heard of a mid life crisis but this seems like a near end of life crisis. Am I being too critical?

Ellen and I had a good evening together. We had fast food (I allowed for the points) and then went home, watched a video, and snuggled under the quilt as I worked on it. She is still very affectionate. I understand that starts to fade when they get to middle school, so I enjoy every precious minute of it while I've got it.

Hugs to all,
JanieD

Hi Buds:)

Dianne, hope your Mom will be okay. How old is she? My Mom passed away at 62. I wish she was still around. I didn't know you were in the 150's!!!! Wow!! You're almost there. You crack me up with "those blue balls" How much do they weigh?

Jen, it's so convenient working out at home. This is why I invested in a treadmill. I do enjoy walking outside when it's warm. It is so cold here today!!!!! The warm weather will be here before you know it.

Has anyone heard from Terri? I guess she's not coming back. :(

Janie, your FIL must have been something else in his younger years. Maybe Ellen will always be affectionate. David is always hugging & kissing me & it doesn't matter where we are. It feels so good.

I struggled a little bit today with staying OP. Fridays are hard for me. I'll do better tomorrow.

Have a goodnight everyone.

Hey girls,

How is everyone? I had the surgery today to remove my gall bladder. I've spent most of the day lying on the sofa sleeping. I'm definitely a little sore. I can't wait to start feeling normal again.

I'll check in and write more when later. I'm off to the sofa again.

Here are my stats for our challenge.

165/16/0

I will post every Saturday also. I'm s little bloated after the surgery, so the 165 may drop pretty quickly. "I hope so anyway".

I think I'll post my menu everyday to the journal thread, maybe that will keep me honest!! I am so read to get out of this rut!!

Dianne, that is definitely good news about your Mom. She sounds like a real fighter; I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers. I saw the Leslie Sansone tapes at a video store yesterday, they were $25 for a set of 3.....but no blue balls! ;) I knew you had ordered them from Amazon, so I'm going there next. Why not get more for my money?

Janie, I hope your FIL's visit goes well. At his age, why not have some fun? Life is way too short; maybe that's the way he looks at it. Everyone just wants to be loved, right?

Ruth, rest and take good care of yourself! You've got the week off to do just that. I hope you're not in too much pain.

Well, it's the weekend, the most challenging time for me, program-wise. Have to guzzle my water and journal journal journal!

HI  to Terri, Myra, Sandy, Zoe, Viola, Pogo, ChicagoMS, 4x4......come on, girls, where are you all??

Morning guys:

Well, unfortunately, my mom had to go back on the respirator yesterday because she isn't coughing and getting rid of the mucus (sp??) on her own. And I just got a call from the doctor asking my permission for a blood transfusion because her hemoglobin in down. So, we are waiting for my sister to meet us here and then we'll go to the hospital to see what's what. Alana came home last night for spring break and I'm really glad she's here. I'll post again tonight maybe.

Es - my mom is 68 which in this day and age isn't all that old.
Yes, I'm 150 exactly as of last saturday and today's wi showed that I stayed the same. I'm happy for that since I haven't been doing great this past week because I haven't been able to exercise. After work, and then going to the hospital until 9:30 or so, I don't have energy to start exercising. So I'm actually very happy that I stayed the same.

Girls I think I will keep my original 10% figures because I just realized that since I'm 150 now, if I lose the 15 lbs., that will not only take care of the 10% but also ww's goal for me (145) and my own personal goal of 135! So I'll stick with the 158.2/15.8/8.2 if that's okay with you.......I don't really want to do all 3 things at one time. This way I have about 7 lbs to go to reach the 10%, 5 lbs to reach ww goal (I didn't even realize that until today) and 15 lbs to reach my personal goal. K????

Jen - Yeah go for the tapes and the balls (they are supposed to weigh 2 lbs each, but maybe I filled them up toooo much, I'll have to weigh them:lol: )

Ruth - Take of yourself girl, hope you heal quickly. Rest, relax. Don't even think about school.

Hi Janie - don't worry, Alana is 18 going on 19 and in college and she's still very affectionate. She's always saying "lay down with me mama and watch this movieI'm incredibly blessed with that child!!!":smug:

Hi Pogo, Myra - you okay???, Zoe girl, I still haven't tried out the animation instuctions but I will soon (thanks), Viola, 40x40 (please give us your name!), and Chicago Ms.

Have a good day everyone.

Hugs,

Thanks

Dianne, enjoy Alana's visit! I'm sure her time at home during break will be a welcome respite from the worries about your Mom. And hey, however you want to post your stats is fine. :D You're soooo close, I don't blame you for the way you're doing it! You know we're easy here....lol

Ruth, a friend of mine had gallbladder lap. surgery a few years ago; she also suffered from what you're experiencing. It's like any other surgical procedure, I think, that with each day it gets better/the pain and swelling lessen. If you're worried, call your dr. Better to put your fears at rest so you can relax and heal.

Jess and Mike came over for dinner last night; we had a fun evening with the boys. Matthew is hysterical....he's 20 months and all he says is "yeah" and growls whenever he's happy! He's got the most beautiful long dark eyelashes, they look artificial. Brandon is my bud......I can't believe how quickly he's growing up. He's on spring break this week, and mine is the next, so we won't be able to get together as I had hoped. :(

Oscars tonight! Es, you go to the show often, have you seen all the films that are up for awards? I've only seen Moulin Rouge. I woke up early this morning, so it's doubtful I'll still be awake for the end of the show.

They're forecasting snow for this evening and tomorrow; I'm going to walk this morning before anything starts. I can't wait to put away the earwarmers and mittens!

Good Morning everyone:wave:

I am trying to get an early start today, skipping church and getting done here. I have things to do here, have to go to to the store and this black tie thingy is at 6:30 tonight. I wish it wasn't on a Sunday but it's coinciding with the Academy Awards to it had to be tonight.

Ok Ladies, I think I'm going to stick with my orginal stats, making the Spring Challange a new beginning....so when I started on the first day of spring, my loss so far was zero. Whatever everyone else wants to do is fine ~ I just want to see what I can do during the spring season. Good luck to everyone!!

Ruth ~ When I had my gall bladder in September of 2000, I recouperated fairly quickly. I didn't have the bloated feeling at all but my friend, who had her's out shortly after me, had it for a week or so. Everyone is different. I never had gall stones but I did have pains in my upper stomache, like a heart attack!! I've heard of people having that bloating for a up to 10 days. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Jen ~ wouldn't we give anything for eyelashes like that??? Speaking of the Oscar's, tonight's affair is going to be just like the Oscar's. There will be valet parking with a red carpet walk up, fans (actor's) will be cheering on the sidelines and the lady from channel 5 news is supposed to be there "interviewing" people. Corny, huh? It's for charity so it will be nice. There will be about 4 BIG screens to show the awards, just as if we were there.

40x40 ~ Congrats on your loss of 1.4 and expecially getting to your 10%!!! You must feel great!

Dianne ~ oh, my friend, I am so sorry about your Mom's relapse. Keep us posted....we are praying. Let me know when you try those files.

Hi to everyone else.....gotta run....so much to do today before we go out......have a great day!!

Hi Girls:wave:

Jen, I'm going to tape the Oscars. I know I will fall asleep.
Matthew sounds so cute. I would do anything to have long lashes. Too bad about spring break. Brandon would have loved it and you too! :) I wish I had a spring break:lol: We're suppose to be getting snow, sleet, rain. I hate driving in it but I have to go work.

Zoe, could you send me the animations instructions? I don't like Sunday functions because of having to wake up early to go to work. Have fun tonight.

Ruth, how are you doing today? Like Jen said, each day will get better. When I had my hysterectomy back in 1992 I had a lot of gas & it was soooo painful. I use to walk around back & forth.

40by40, congratulations on your loss!!! Must feel great huh? WTG!!!

Dianne, sorry about your Mom.:( I'm so glad Aana will be home with you. You maintained which is a good thing. I wouldn't worry about exercising. That can always come later. Take care of yourself okay?

HI gals,
Just thought that I would pop in to say  I haven't been terribly good about staying OP cause my FIL is in town and he is a chocoholic. Like most addicts he doesn't like to indulge alone...So consequently I am forced, against my will of course, to imbibe in the terrible brown stuff ;)

Hey girls,

Well each day seems to be getting a little easier. I was miserable last night, but the gas is easing some. It has been 17 years since my hysterectomy so I really can't remember what it felt like. For the most part, I've always been healthy. Guess that is why I can't tolerate discomfort.

Well, its late, I better get back to bed. I'll check in with you tomorrow.

Good Morning buddies:wave:

40x40 - Congrats on your 1.4 loss and 10% keychain - that's fantastic, great job.

Jen - The boys sound ssssssoooooo cute. And isn't it always the boys that get the gorgeous eyelashes? When Justin was little, his eyelashes used to get stuck together, they were so long and dark. But then Alana got the beautiful hazel eyes, so it balanced out, Sorry you and brandon don't have spring break together:(

Zoe - How did the party go?? I hope you and Greg had a great time. I'm gonna try to attach a file at the end of this post to see if it works or not.

Ruth - I'm glad you feel a bit better. It will get better everyday, like Jen says, once the swelling starts going down. Take care of you girl.

Es - mi amiga - how are you doing. Did you get the snow, sleet, etc. We didn't get any of that in the city.

Janie - you poor thing, how you must be suffering being forced to eat that chocolate with you FIL:devil: How did his birtday celebration go?

Hey Myra - how are you girl, I haven't seen a post from you for awhile. You okay?

Zoe, how was the affair last night? Sounds like it would have been cool. Where you on the news?

Es, I actually stayed up till the end of the Oscars....the first time in years

The weekend was not as bad as I had feared. With a lot of determination, and just a bit of back-sliding, I was able to end each day being over on my points by only 5. Normally I don't even count points on the weekends.

Hi gals,
Thank you so much for being so sympathetic regarding the FIL choc addiction. It has been really rough, let me tell you

Last night we took him out for dinner at the Claremont Hotel in Oakland. It is a landmark resort and spa in the Bay Area. The food was wonderful. He absolutely loved the quilt. Before he leaves I want to photograph it and if I can I'll attach the picture for you all to see. He said that it was the best birthday celebration he had ever remembered. (I know the guy isn't Irish but at some point in his life he definately kissed the Blarney Stone.) There was dancing and he wanted to dance with Janet (his daughter), me and Ellen. Ellen was too shy. Janet did ok. However, Mike may like to dance but he never passed that skill onto his son, consequently it has been a very long time since I was on a dance floor. I am also 5 inches taller than my FIL. I made a total jerk of myself. But we all had fun anyway.

Ruth,
glad that you are recovering. Take care of yourself!!

Take care,

WOW! Where is everyone?

This may be the longest the thread has gone without a post......

And we're in our Spring Challenge! C'mon everyone! How are you doing? What are you doing to stay motivated? I'm journalling faithfully, good or bad. Today's water wasn't so good.

Ok, it's Easter/Passover week, that explains it. I know there's so much to do between now and Sunday. Grocery shopping is a chore I'm dreading this week. First of all, the stores will be so crowded; secondly, I'm trying to come up with some new choices that are more points friendly, yet the family will like since I'm not making the traditional stuff.

What is everyone doing for their holiday? Jess, etc., will be here after church to spend the day and have dinner with us. I'm making baskets for Brandon and Matthew. B's is easy, the Shrek dvd he wants, along with single serve packets of candies, and a few matchbox/hotwheels. Matt's is a sand bucket w/shovel, molds, etc., and I got packets of animal crackers and graham teddy bears. All that candy is ridiculous. Not to mention the fact that I don't want it in the house. I don't want to smell it, see it, etc. :nono:

Janie, sounds like you had a very nice evening. There's something special about going out dancing, isn't there? Doesn't matter what one's skill level is, as long as it's fun.

Have to spend tomorrow studying for my midterm on Thursday. Then I get a week off. LOL, my class only meets two days a week, so it's not like it's a huge vacation. We are painting, tho, so I may start emptying the living room on Thursday after school.

I'm here too Jen! Been a bit crazy with work, hospital, etc. Doing okay weight wise so far, I think I posted that I maintained at last Saturday's WI. I feel bad that I've been lax on the exercising though, but after working all day and going to hospital, I sure don't feel like exercising. I did go bowling this Monday (I missed last week and I'm on a league)so that was a bit of exercise. Good luck with your midterm tomorrow! Have a great time with the boys on Easter!

Hi Es - Hang in there buddy - good job on all the exercising!

I'm off tomorrow and Good Friday. Alana and I will go shopping tomorrow for a wedding we have on Easter Sunday. I know, I know Easter Sunday???:dizzy: But I guess they save money having it then since no one else is:lol: This is my granson Andrew's mom, Diana who is getting married. She and my son Steven had Andrew when they were just teenagers, so of course, that didn't work out. Now, almost 11 years later, she is getting married. I'm really proud of her, she is an amazing girl and of course, we are in contact frequently because of Andrew, so I feel like I've watched her grow up.

Hey Zoe girl - how are you?

Ruth - feeling better?

Myra - where are you?

Janie - It sounds like you had soooooooooo much fun dancing. I love to dance. Willie and I are great salsa partners - well, we've been dancing together for 23 years, we better have it right by now:D

40x40 - how are you doing?

Hi Viola and Pogo.

Have a great day guys!

Hi gals,
Well all this partying has made itself known, on the scale I mean. I gained 2.5 lb thanks to all this high living with my FIL in town. We will be having a farewell lunch with him today at a local winery and then I can get back to program. ANyone know how many points are in a ceasar salad? That is what I feel like having for lunch.

Happy Wed,

Hi Buddies,

Dianne, mi amiga, how's Mom? You're right about the wedding Easter Sunday, it's probably way cheaper. That's so nice that you kept in touch with her. You're a sweetie. That's probably why she's kept in touch with you all these years. Hope you find something really nice to wear. ;)

Jen, I'm I left you all alone during this Spring challenge!!! Believe me it is a challenge! I'm doing okay. Haven't been writing anything down but I pretty much eat the same way during the week so I know how many points I'm eating. Great job on journalling. ;) I'm staying home for Easter. Both my sisters will be in PA so it'll just be Pete, Dave(maybe) & me. Dave might have to work believe it or not. If he has to go in it'll be triple time. Not too shabby.

Janie, sounds like your FIL is having a good time. Once he leaves you can get back on track. Check Dotties Weightloss Zone. They have everything.

I have to go. The nosey people are back from lunch.

Be back later:wave:

Janie, what I meant to say before that dottiesweightlosszone has all the points for restaurants to fast food. Anytime I want to find out how many points that's where I go. Enjoy it. I love ceasars salad.

Easter Sunday........well, church & back home. I have a turkey breast that I'm going to make. I was going to make a ham but I figured let me stick to the healthier meal. I don't know, maybe it's me but I've never been too crazy about Easter or New Years. When David was little it was fun because we use to color the eggs & buy nice outfits. It's not like it was back in the day.
Jen & Dianne, can I borrow your grandchildren?

Hi Ruth:wave: are you feeling better?

Myra, pop in & say hi.:)

Well buddies, going to relax & watch a little t.v. then off to bed.

Hi you's guys...I'm here, I'm here. What a week so far...busy, busy, busy. The black tie 'thingy' was great, lots of fun. I am here to make a confession.....I just now started my spring challange. A wasted week....I did terrible and I am ashamed to say, didn't even care. I was even eating things when no one was looking!!! :s: At any rate, I'm okay now and ready to go. Today, DAY #1 :D

Es ~ you've got me confused.... using 2 different log in's.....as I was ready the note from "fitforlife426", I didn't realize it was you...then, I remembered that it was the "old" you. :D I wish I could get on at work but I'm afraid. They watch EVERYTHING!! and internet use is a big :nono: Big Brother lives at my office!

Janie ~ I know how you feel and I don't have an excuse. :( Don't worry though.....your FIL is gone now and you can get yourself together.......I'm sure you'll be fine now.

Hey Dianne ~ I'm here and doing great. I think I'm catching something but not really sure yet. :?: I have a scratchy throat and now, my head hurts and eyes burn. Great!! Anyway, How is your mom doing? I'm thinking about her and praying too.

Jen ~ Enjoy your week off from school. We're not doing anything for Easter.....Church in the morning and I think I'm going to cook on Easter Sunday instead of go out. No little ones here so nothing special planned.

Hi to everyone else. Have a wonderful Thursday. I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

HI gals,
I thought it was over with my FIL yesterday but at 3:30 yesterday afternoon Steve called me at my office and he tells me "Janet and I have decided that we are going to have a Passover Satir at our house tomorrow night since Dad is here." (Janet is his sister.) I said, "That is nice. You and Janet have a lot of work ahead of you. I'll be home before sunset." My husband and his family are Jewish and I have attended Satirs before but I wouldn't have a clue how to put one on, and the amoutn of work is incredible for the preparation. You don;t drop that in your gentile wife's lap the day before. I think he was shocked when I said I wasn't going to be cooking the dinner. Do you guys think I was a little hard on him? I am starting to feel a little guilty:devil:

Happy Thursday,

Janie, regarding the gain: after having your FIL as a guest, it's understandable. It has sounded as tho you've enjoyed your time together, which meant alot. Now you can work on those #'s. As far as the Passover dinner goes.....well, hope it was good! I would feel guilty also. However, it's not like you refused to prepare it out of b!tchiness....you did show respect for the holiday by making it a point to be home by sunset. At least that's the impression I got. I'm sure your husband understands.

Zoe, way to go on Day 1!!! It doesn't matter when we start again, so long as we do it, right? I don't know about you, but I'm depending on everyone here to cheer me on when I need it.

Es, the Easter holiday isn't what it used to be. When the kids were younger it was more fun. I do color eggs every year, it's a tradition I'll never give up. Joe used to roll his eyes, but now he's into it. Every year he used to say, "why did you make so many eggs?" Now it's..."is that all there is to color?" Go figure!!!

Dianne, I've been meaning to ask...what's your bowling average? I've been on leagues and loved it; I should look into joining again. My average was around the 135 mark, was never that great. Have FUN at the Easter wedding! It's right that you kept in touch with Andrew's mom. It'll be heartwarming to see her married happily, I would guess. I love love love weddings. Don't care whose it is either...client's, co-worker's....I always cry and have fun dancing. And, enjoy your long holiday weekend.

My midterm exam was today; I went into it hoping for a B, came out praying that I passed. It was tough, I got a high C.

If I feel so great from exercising, why don't I keep at it and WANT to do it? :?: The rush/energy I get on the days that I walk, or tone with weights, or follow along to an aerobics tape. is such a good feeling! Yet, each and every morning I have to talk myself into doing it. Es, Myra, I know you both exercise regularly. What's your secret? Is it like Nike...just do it? just wondering.

Let's stay away from the Easter candy this weekend.

Happy Friday!

How are my girls doing?

Jen, that's cute about Joe wanting to color eggs. I could just picture Pete. Me & Dave were reminicing yesterday the good old days. Hey, about the exam I just give you credit for wanting to go back to school. Jen, without exercise I would feel so crappy. I have to do it even those days when I really don't feel like it. You get so many benefits from it. Every little bit helps. Don't worry, when the warm weather gets here you'll feel more motivated. ;)

Janie, about feeling guilty? hmmmm....... I might have done the same thing. I hate last minute plans. Why couldn't SIL offer to cook the meal at your house? Either way, I hope everything turned out okay.

Zoe, you are so funny with the 2 logins:lol:

Hi gals,
Steve was ok about preparing Seder (this gentile wife spelled it wrong yesterday:lol:)dinner. He went to the Alberton's deli and got most of the food already prepared. My FIL did the ceremony and it was very nice but a little long for an 8 yr old to sit still. Now that FIL is gone I can concetrate on WW.

We are leaving on vacation this weekend and I need to take the Easter stuff with us. There will be 3 families with a total of 4 kids ranging in age from 6 to 12. I thought I would bring those plastic Easter eggs and fill them with some candies and hide them around the campsites for the kids. I want it to be something that seals so that bugs cant get into it. I will not be logging in for a while 'cause we are off to Joshua Tree NP. Hope you all have lovely holidays!!

Hey everyone,

JEN, I totally understand where you're coming from with the test and with exercise. I feel the same way. I love walking when I'm doing it, but stopping long enough to do it is another thing. Eventually, when the weather warms up and it quits raining, I'm hoping that I become a fanatic about walking again.

As for the test, congratulations on the C. I felt the same way about my algebra test a few weeks ago. I didn't study for it because I thought it was a sure thing, when I took the test, I wasn't sure I past or not. Somehow I made an A, guess the good Lord was watching over me.

JANIE, glad to hear that your Passover Supper turned out ok. Now that your fil has left, you gain concentrate on WW again. Guess my excuse at the moment is my surgery. I'm waiting to feel better. LOL I've been weighing about 163 lately, so I guess I've gained about 5 or 6 lbs. But I'll get it off, as soon as the motivation kicks in!!

ES, yes, I'm feeling better. I don't have a bit of energy though. I went to the emergency room Wednesday with abdominal pains. The pain was really intense, to the point that I was clutching my side and holding my breath. I still don't know for sure what caused it, they took x-rays, did a pelvic, checked my urine and did blood work. It could have been anything from my ovaries to gas!!My doctors appointment was the next day, he pulled up the test from ER, my white cell count was down, so I may have some sort of virus. He said there is one going around that is causing severe abdominal pain, so maybe. I need to call my gyn and have my yearly exam done.

Well I've been up for a little while so I better go back to the couch.

Take care and hello to everybody that I missed!!

Hello:wave:

I had quite a busy day today. Didn't get to exercise.:( I got 3 coupons in the mail to join WW, free registration. Do you think they sent me 3 since I've quit so many times & rejoined? I think I'm taking my butt up there tomorrow & join. I'll be busy tomorrow too. I have a hairdresser appt. then a manicure. After that I have to go buy some Easter baskets for my brother's kids & a pair of shoes for me.

Ruth I'm so sorry to hear about the pain you've been having. I tell you, the gas I had brought tears to my eyes. I had that for around 1 week. I will say a prayer for you for a quick recovery. ;)

Since I've been out all day have to do a couple of things around here.

Have a good night everybody:wave:

Ruth, you must have been really hurting, that's a shame. I hope it winds down and you begin to feel better. Do you resume classes on Monday?
I wouldn't have felt so bad about the exam if I had blown it off and not studied. But I did put in extra studying/review in preparation.

Es, you have a busy day planned! I received one postcard from WW saying they missed me....but no offers of free reg., etc. Guess that they don'tmiss me that badly! Probably know I'll be back........
I feel that I've had a good week in terms of planning my meals. However, I have been overeating. I simply don't feel full sometimes. I try to concentrate on water when that happens, but it's not the same :(

I want to start my spring challenge tomorrow. I had a rough week. This morning I decided to rejoin WW. I could not believe how much I weigh!!!!!! 181!!!! I guess my scale at home is not accurate. So now my 10% is 18. Geeezzz, what a disappointment.

Jen, I'm always hungry. My max is 27 pts. I need to add fruits & veggies. I haven't been eating them. Just an apple once in a while. It's time to get serious. I'll still be posting my weigh ins on Saturday but I'm officially starting tomorrow. Sorry you felt so bad about your C. You know you gave it your all & that's what counts. ;)

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all have a joyous day with your families.

I have the wedding today. I banked 5 points from yesterday for today and I've already chosen my meal - chicken and veggies. The 5 points is to help with the wedding cake:lol:

I was up .8 at wi yesterday, but I expected that. So, I'll just have to work hard this week coming and try to get at least 3 days in with the walking tapes. With my mom in the hospital, its been hard to get the exercise in cause I'm too tired when I get home from visiting her and working all day. But, I'm gonna make an extra effort this week. She's about the same, still on a respirator, but she seems to recognize us now and she shakes her head yes or no when you ask a question. She smiles at us too;) , that's a new thing.

Anyway, I hope you all have a great easter and enjoy your families and your food! I intend on having a great time at this wedding and plan to dance my A-- off and Willie's too:devil:

Es - congrats on starting over. Don't stress the 18 lbs and don't overwhelm yourself. One day at a time girl. Just think of staying on program day by day, don't think of weeks away. You can do it! You're still trying no matter what happens and you don't quit, that's the most important tool - perseverance!

Jen - Congrats on passing your test - you rock! Have a great day with Jess and family.

Ruth - Sorry to hear you were in pain and hope you'll return to normal soon. Have a great day.

Janie - Enjoy your trip!

Hi Myra, 40x40, Chicago Ms., Viola and Pogo - Happy Easter!

Hi Buddies,

Happy Monday:D New week. Yesterday was nice & quiet for us. After church we ate & just watched TV. Pete had to work last night so I didn't want to go anywhere. He really likes the night shift. Dave called me around 3 times. I guess he felt guilty that he had to work. I told him if it were me getting payed triple time, no way would I pass that up. He said he'll be off next weekend & he was to "hang out" with his mom. Too cute.

Jen, congrats on your loss. A little here a little there adds up after a while. You're going in the right direction.

When I get home from work I'm going to work out then I'll sit down & plan my menu for the week. I'm still sticking to my first meal in the evening. I am very very disappointed with my weigh-in. I haven't weighed this much since David was around 4 yrs. old!!! I'll stop whining & complaining, I have to JUST DO IT!

Hi everyone,
My computer has been broken, but I'm back. I missed checking in with everyone. I was just starting to get motivated again. I figure I have 15 pounds to lose by the first day of summer - that's about 82 days away if I've counted correctly. That's .8 pounds per week....that's extremely possible, don't you think?

So, the first day of spring was a couple of weeks ago - how's everyone doing? I think I weighed 155 when I weighed in 2 weeks ago, but I'm not sure. (I leave my weigh-in record at WW because I always lose it at home.)

Yesterday we celebrated Easter at my sister-in-law's. I think I stayed "within reason". Ham, salad, potatoes, diet soda, a small slice of choc. cake with a small scoop of ice cream and one small mint c.c. brownie. Believe me, I could have had more. Then I took 2 walks when we got home! Probably got in between 3 and 4 miles.

My plan for the day is to work, come home and walk, do some computer stuff at home, and maybe walk again. Oh, and I'll be listening to my favorite team, the Boston Red Sox! It's opening day! Anybody else a baseball fan?

Hi Buddies,

I am really ready for a fresh start, and feeling gung ho about it!

My mom is doing so well after this latest surgery, that I am stunned. She had a dreadful car accident in November of 1998. At that time she broke both femurs, her ankle, and her pelvis. I feel like she has been suffering Humpty Dumpty's fate all this time. We finally are seeing her back on her feet. This latest surgery was a total knee replacement and a partial artificial femur. She is now walking with a walker. When I saw her cross the room, I had the biggest goofy grin and tears streaming down my face. We have all had such a long haul over the past several years, that all of us are incredulous that she may be getting her independence back. By the way today is her birthday. Happy 75th Mom!

Ruth I hope you mend quickly from your surgery. I was sorry to hear that you are dealing with a lot of gas pain. That can be scary as it can be severe and hard to identify too.

Dianne That is encouraging news about your mom, I hope she is on her way back to you all!

I can finally face counting my points this week again. In fact I am relieved to have nothing looming this week that involves food.
Last week I had nothing but eating occasions. A dinner party, a wedding shower, my son Greg's birthday, a Passover seder, a restaurant dinner, a brunch, and Easter Sunday dinner.

Morning,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Thankfully the weather finally cleared up and we had a nice day yesterday. We went to my aunt's for a cookout. Both my daughter's, their boyfriends and the grandbabies went also. My aunt only has one son and he does not have any children, so she enjoyed borrowing mine for the day. Of course, my own mother was in heaven with all four of her great grandchildren running around!!

SANDY, give your mom a big hug and kiss from all of us here!! In fact, giver her two, one for the great accomplishments after this last surgery and the other for her birthday!! I am so glad that things are turning around for you guys. Will there need to be anymore surgeries. I really feel like a big baby with all the whining about my little surgery. I haven't been through anything compared to your mom. (Hanging my head in shame!!) :(

I am so encouraged by the start of a new month. I am eager to get back on track and will do so today!!! I'm just a week and a half behind on my start for Spring challenge, but I will be reporting losses SOOOON!!

POGO, Welcome back, we have missed you. I hate when my computer is down. It's as if you lose touch with part of the world.

ES, no use crying over spilled milk!! As you said, JUST DO IT!! But, I definitely know how you feel. I had a few weeks of being under 160 and now I'm back up to about 165. But, with the new month is a new start. I know you guys started the first day of Spring, I'm just a little slow!!:D

JEN, any loss is a good loss. I haven't had a loss in over a month, my weight has been going in the opposite direction. So hang in there and with each ounce you will eventually see pounds disappear.

Well I'm off to school. Life is back to normal. I'll check in with ya'll later.

Hi! It looks as though everyone's back, raring and ready to go. I was pleased to see posts from so many this morning.

Dianne, it sounds as though your Mom is slowly making progress, good for her. Between running back and forth to the hospital and work, take time for Dianne :) How was the wedding?

Es, good idea about planning the menus for the week, which helps eliminate bad spur-of-the-moment decisions. None of us are where we were 20 or more years ago  You're doing so much good for your body by sticking with the exercising. Hang in there, you will DO IT. :D I don't know if it was a rerun...but did you see Derek Jeter on Sat. Night Live? what a hunk....

Sandy, your Mom has been thru so much! My best to her upon the momentous 75 birthday. You definitely sound relieved. Way to go on getting back OP!!

Ruth, wow you had all the generations together yesterday, how cool. Good job on beginning your Spring Challenge!! We'll all be LIGHTER by June 21st. :D

Pogo, glad your computer is fixed. What did we do without them? :?: Good going on the walking. I'm a Bears (football) fan, but will admit that I begin to follow the Cubs when they're doing well, as they did last year. Nice to know that today's Opening Day.....means warm weather will be here soon!

Myra, you said this is your busy time of year....hope you're doing well, and that your holidays were good.

Have a great OP Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Ours was quiet but it was good.

I am busy, busy, busy....today was one of the LONGEST work days I've had in awhile. I'm now getting ready (the house, etc) for Greg's niece who will be visiting us for a week. She gets here Thursday night and stays until the following Thursday. I have so much to do! <sigh>

I'm going to try to touch on each of you but fast....sorry. :(

Jen ~ I think a high C is a great score. You passed and that's great

Sandy ~ Happy 75th to your Mom and I'm glad she's doing well now. She is one tough lady...(thank you Lord)

Ruth ~ How's that gas? And the incision? Healing well I hope. I know what you're going through.

Dianne ~ Gee, no Happy Easter and Hello for me?? <sniff, sniff>.....hahaha.....just kidding. I'm so glad that your mom is slowing recovering......I pray she'll continue.

Pogo ~ welcome back. I hate when my computer is broken but then, I just call my son to get it up and going. :) Glad you here again.

Janie ~ Have a great trip!

Es ~ When I plan my meals for a week or at least 4 or so days, that's when I do the best. good luck.

40x40 ~ Good to hear from you. I was wondering where you were :)

Terri ~ hope you're back soon......we miss ya!

Tomorrow is a new day and I will perservere.

DIANNE, sorry, I missed you the last time I checked in, but then I was in here just quickly before I left for school. How was the wedding? Glad to here that there is some improvement with your mom. I know it seems slow, but just hang in there. You are still in our prayers.

June and July will be consumed by school, but I want to make sure I finish within the four year period so I'm taking 3 classes this summer. I'm thinking about taking 6 this fall. If it gets too stressful, I realize I may have to drop 1 or 2 if I do.

I'll check in later on today.

Es, I'm making a copy of our old E.T. for Brandon, if you like I'll make one for you also. Or I'd suggest you try ebay or Amazon. When Joey was young he had a stuffed ET he slept with every night.....my baby, where did those years go? !
Thanks for the reminder about the H2O :D

Ruth, wow! you'll have a full summer for sure if you take all those courses. Glad you're feeling almost 100%.

Pogo, 3 miles is great, way to go on the exercising.

Hi Buddies:wave:

Jen, it is so sweet of you to offer me a copy. I'm going to check the sites you said. I'm trying to get it for my nephew's little boy, Lil Louie. He's 6 yrs. old. If I can't find it maybe I'll take you up on your offer. ;)

Ruth, your summer is booked. WTG on more classes. Glad to hear you're feeling better & still motivated.

Hey Pogo:wave: way to go on your walking. :D It makes you feel so good, doesn't it? I've been walking on my treadmill & doing resistance training afterwards. Nothing like exercising. Keeps us strong!:strong:

I had a good day today. In the afternoon I had a strong urge for chocolate but I had half of a protein bar instead. WW 2 point bars are so good. I ate one in the morning. I bought the cookie dough one & it's delicious.

Well ladies, till tomorrow:wave:

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone is doing great. I'm feeling pretty chipper this morning. I stepped on the scale and was pleasantly surprised to see the morning weight had decreased!! Instead of 163 I weighed 160 this morning. I made my daughter get on the scale, she actually weighed three pounds more than she did a few days ago. Then she weighed holding her 3 1/2 month old son and he weighs 13 lbs, and that is what the scale registered. In other words, I really did weigh 160!!! So, I'm really pumped for the moment.

I'm on my way out to meet a friend for lunch, I'm having a salad!! Then I have one more class today, then I must come home and study. I have two test next week.

I'll check in with you girls later.

Howdy pardners!

Ahhhhhh Zoe Girl! 30 lashes with a wet noodle for me! I wouldn't leave you out, not on purpose anyway;) Although I did say "Happy Easter Everyone" at the beginning of my post;) How are you girl? Have fun with Greg's niece - how old is she?

Jen - congrats on the .5 loss. Every little bit helps, like Es says, it all adds up. Good job! The wedding, once it got started (1 1/2 hrs. late!) was terrific. The bride was gorgeous (aren't they all?;)) My grandson Andrew caused a bit of a stir, he was the ring bearer and he has made it quite clear that he didn't want his mom to get married. So, apparently, at one point he handed her the pillow the ring comes on and said "I can't do this"! Oy, that was scary for her, but she took him into a room and talked to him and tried to reassure him (as did I and others) that he was the most important person in the world to her. Well, by the end of the night, he was actually toasting his mom and Cory :smug: And dancing and having a grand old time. So, I felt good about that as I'm sure his mom and new stepdad must have. Anyway, willie and I danced our butts off and had a ball (that was my exercise for the day, lol).

Es - mi amiga! Congrats to you for sitting down and planning meals, etc. That can be soooooo important. I know if I don't have my "supplies" here at work as well as home, I'm in trouble. How is it going starting your points at dinner time?

Ruth - Sounds like you had a really nice Easter with all your family, that's great. How are you feeling? How enthusiastic you sound about the spring challenge - you go girl!

Pogo - Glad to hear you're back with us. Great job on all the walking! I'm a die-hard Yankees fan, lol. How could I not be???

Sandy - Sooooo glad to hear your mom is doing so well. Happy Birthday to her! 75 - wow, what a milestone!

40x40 - Hope you had a great Easter.

Hi Myra and Terri - you guys are now both missing in action. Hope you're both doing well.

My mom, unfortunately is not doing well. In addition to all the problems she has, she now developed an infection in her lungs and it is resistant to antibiotics. So, that is not a good thing. But what amazes me is that the sicker she gets the more alert she seems. She still shakes her head yes and no, seems to recognize us and even smiles. She has the most amazing blue eyes and the other day I said to her "wow, your eyes are soooo blue, they look so pretty, almost as pretty as mine". And she smiled, so I know she knows I was joking with her. Anyway, they said she wouldn't last 3 days and as of yesterday, she's been in the hospital for 3 weeks. So, one day at time, right.

Well, I better get my butt back to work. Have a great day my friends. I'll try to get back here tomorrow.

Hugs,
Dianne

Es, I love the 2 points bars also, they're so good. I feel guilty when I go in the WW center to purchase them, as I'm no longer a member. But why should they care if they're getting their $$$, right?

Ruth, congrats on the loss! Such a good feeling to have the scale be our friend. Good luck on those tests.

Dianne, sounds like the wedding was great. How old is Andrew? It sounds as tho it''ll be tough to share his Mom.

I had lunch yesterday with an old friend; stayed OP by having salad and black bean soup. I figured the soup couldn't have been that bad points-wise.....the alternative was broccoli-cheddar :nono:

hope everyone's doing well.......HI

It's Essie! I don't want to confuse Zoe.

I'm on my lunch break. Just wanted to catch up a bit.

Dianne, I hope Andrew feels better about his step dad soon. I thought David was going to have a hard time when I met Pete. He was 9 yrs. old. At first he was alittle funny but since Pete has this way with kids he started to like him right away. He calls Pete his father. He never says step-father. They get along really well. So my amiga danced her butt off huh. Think of all the calories you burned. And had fun doing it! The points at dinner time seems to be working for me. I can eat lighter during the day. It's the night time that I'm the hungriest.(sp?)

Jen, I didn't know anybody could just walk in the WW centers & buy the bars. The only thing I don't like is that there is only 4 in a box. I'd rather have 6 for the week.

Ruth, congrats on your loss. How tall are you?

I'll be back this evening. I feel quilty doing this at work.

Hey Es & Jen - re: the ww bars - I have to tell you that I found Slimfast peanut butter crunch bars - OMG, delicious. BUTTTTTTTTT, they are 3 pts. each rather than 2. But you do get 6 in a box instead of 4 and they are sssssssssssssooooooo good. If you're happy with the ww bars, then maybe you should stick to them since they are only 2 pts. but for me, that extra point packs a lot more flavor. I like them much better than the ww bars. Just some trivial information I'm giving out, lol.:p

Well, I thought I'd run in here a moment before I hit the books. I'm having as much trouble making myself study as I do staying on my diet!!

Hi Girls:wave:

Dianne, I have to try the slimfast bars. I have a coupon for $1.00 off. I'm picking them up this weekend. Thanks ;)

Ruth, I'm only an inch taller than you. I'm the shortest in my family.

I must confess that I've been going a little over my pts. each day. {{{{errrrrrrr}}}} but I've been exercising for an 1 1/2 hours. 3:30 am till 9:00 pm 27 pts. is not enough. I know, I know, the 0 pt. soup, more fruits & vegetables but they just don't cut it.

I got an email from Terri & now she's even having a hard time getting into the WW site. That would drive me nuts! They said it may have something to do with the cookies. ( cookies:lol: )

Well buddies, I have to sign off. Gotta wake up Pete so he could get ready for work.

See, cookies will do it to us every time! It's really a shame Terri's having the problems.

Dianne, thanks for the info about the Slimfast bars. I'll give them a try. There are so many bars on the market, I hesitate to try different ones until I hear some feedback. 6 in a box is definitely a good thing!

Es, I can only guess that they recognize me at WW and perhaps just assume I'm still a member. Or perhaps it's cause the last few times I've gone in, a meeting is about to start and there are people besides me entering and checking in, etc .

This week has been difficult in terms of night-time treats and sweets in general.

Hi Everyone!

Guess what? I just got back from my Friday weigh-in and... I LOST THREE AND A HALF POUNDS!!!

I'm soooo happy! I can share this with my sister-in-law, but she's the only one around who will understand my excitement. It's nice to know that you're all there for me.

I'm going to try to keep this motivation going. I'm sort of writing stuff down and I've increased the walking and had lots of water!

Right now, I'm sipping some Progresso Minestrone Soup - I figure it's about 1.5 points per serving - and munching on some pita bread. Then I'll gulp down alot of water.

I'd like to get better with my dinners. That's when I tend to go over on points. I'm looking for some ideas....What is your favorite dinner that's about 8 to 10 points? Less points would be nice too.

If the weather doesn't turn, I'll walk this afternoon.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Pogo - WOW - great loss, girl, congrats. You do sound motivated, losing those lbs will do that to you, lol. Check out this site for receipes. One of my favorites is Chicken Marengo (Es- willie calls it chicken Merenge). Its all don in one pot in about 20-25 mins. Its chicken breast (no bone) cut up with penne pasta and green or red (or both) peppers and chicken broth and stewed tomatoes (Italian receipe) and white cooking wine! YUMMMMMMMMMMY. I love the taste and I especially love the fact that its all in one pot. And I believe its 7 pts. per serving - cooks 4 servings. But there are tons of receipes here that are good and not too many points. Check it out.

Hi everyone - hope your'e all having a great day. Thank God its Friday! And Jen and Es - if you get the slimfast bars, hope you like em!

Hi Buddies:wave:

Good news!!!! I decided to weigh-in today instead of tomorrow because I have a 9:00 a.m appt. with my hairdresser. Sooooooo, I lost 3.8:D

Pogo, I know exactly how you feel. I'm feeling good. Congrats on your loss.

I exercised alot this week. I'm doing resistance training for 55 minutes & my treadmill for 35 minutes.

Dianne, chicken merenge:lol: Willie is so funny. Sounds delicious. I have to try it one of these days. An attorney that I work for felt bad cause she didn't get me anything for easter so she gave me box of her protein bars. She's on LAWeightloss. She lost 30 lbs. It's $7 a week but you have to prepay for 1 year. They think they're so slick. Plus you HAVE TO buy their protein bars. I have 7 of them so I'll buy the slimfast bars next week.

Jen, have you tried the WW drinks? I was almost tempted to buy it but I changed my mind.

I forgot to mention that we went to see The Panic Room last weekend. It keeps you at the edge of your seat. Pete did not nod out once!!!! He always nods in the movies but not this time. Excellent movie.

Be back tomorrow:)

Hey everyone,

Well it's late, but I wanted to check in with you before I go to bed. I hope everyone has had a good week. Mine has been pretty decent with only a few bad choices. Overall I'm holding my own and when I start walking again, I feel like I will start loosing again.

My baby turns 21 tomorrow. I didn't know what to get her, so my husband bought her a DVD player. She didn't think she would get anything for her birthday, so she was pleasantly surprised. I guess she is officially legal and I'm officially "old". LOL

ES, I have purchased things on Ebay before. I've only used my debit card once, I usually just send a money order. It may take a few more days for delivery, but you don't have to worry about your information. However, I think when you do use a creditcard or debit card it is through what I'd call a "clearinghouse" type system. In other words, the people who have things for sale should not be given the information. Just the company processing the information.

ES, I am so proud of your loss. You must be on "cloud nine" at this point. I know I would be!!

POGO, wow, another great loss!! You and Es are my "heros". Well maybe I can get motivated soon and we can all be celebrating!! Keep up the good work.

JEN, are you taking any classes this summer. I just registered for nine hours.

Hello My Buddies,

RUTH, Happy Birthday to your daughter. No matter how old they are they will always be our baby. A DVD player is a very nice gift. About the bad choices, it's behind you & now it's a new week & you can start over. Everyday for me is a struggle. When I slip I don't dwell on it I just get right back on track. Maybe I'll slip again but I don't stay there for long. Hope you can start walking soon. Exercise helps physically & mentally. My nephew said he ordered something from Ebay & the seller never sent it. I still might order the ET movie(1982). Have a nice day. ;)

DIANNE, thanks for cheering me on about my loss. The exercise did help. I was going over my points practically everyday. It'll probably show up next week.

Hi You's guys

I just wanted to pop in for a moment to say hello and say that I miss being online everyday. Our niece is still here and we're having a great visit. We (she and I) did the Fort Worth Race for the Cure 5k walk/run for Breast Cancer yesterday. So, I did get my exercise in. :D:D Of course, the eating part of this visit has been bad so I am hanging my head. I am really going to try to be better the rest of this visit (she goes home Thursday morning) but definitely when she's gone.

I am reading your posts but cannot comment right now.....WTG on all the losses.......what a big bunch of "LOSER'S" we have here!! I am so jealous...:p

Well, gotta run. Have a wonderfu Sunday and I'll try to pop in again soon. Miss me while I'm gone....:)

Hi everyone,

ES, Whooeee! Happy Dance for you, girl! I'm thrilled you had such a good loss, will go a long way in keeping you motivated, right? I know how hard you worked for it......congrats :D :D I've never dealt w/ebay. Amazon does have sellers who offer used items, and they deal w/the credit card transactions....sellers don't see that info. Hey, my offer of making you a copy still holds, remember.

Zoe, way to go on a 5K! How cool. That is DEFINITELY your exercise for the day! Hope you're having fun with your niece.

Ruth, Happy Birthday to your daughter.....21 is a milestone! And no, I'm not taking any classes during the summer semester. We bought a new pool last year late in August. My plans are to spend this entire summer in it :D can't wait! I'm returning in the fall semester, haven't decided upon what courses to take yet.

Dianne, thanks for the reminder about the chicken merengue recipe...I had looked it up previously, and thought it looked good, but never got around to making it......we're definitely having it for dinner tomorrow. I need new chicken breast recipes!

The boys just left for home. Jess had asked if they could spend the night in order for her and Mike to go out for the evening. They saw The Panic Room and said it was good also. We had a great visit with the boys. When Matt went to bed, Brandon, Joe and I had Game Night, which we used to do when our kids were little. Chutes & Ladders, Hi Ho Cherrio....and Operation. Over and over again :dizzy: ....we had a blast. Now I'm already missing them desperately!

Did not weigh in yesterday :o I knew it might be depressing, so avoided that. You know how much I love fresh-start Mondays

HI  to Myra, Pogo, Sandy, Janie, and anyone I may have missed.

till tomorrow...

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend.

I wanted to tell you about my Saturday nite - I don't think I stayed OP! I decided to splurge and have fish and chips at around 5pm for dinner with my husband. I have no idea how many points - and I don't think I want to know. Well, a little later I ended out going out with 2 friends - for dinner! I intended to have water, tea or diet soda, but ended up having another dinner. It was a Chinese/Thai place and the food was yummy.
So, Sunday morning I walked at least 5 miles. It was a beautiful day and I met my friends for coffee. I don't know if that totally balanced the two dinners, but who cares now...and I had fun!

I have consciously tried to increase my walking and my water! We'll see how that works on Friday at weigh in.

That's all for now. Have to go to work. I'll be back online later this week.

HI gals,
We had a great time at Joshua Tree NP. The weather was perfect. It was mid 80s during the day and 50s at night. I was the only mom for the 3 families so I informed everyone(including the 3 dads) that I had devine right and total supremacy. No one complained and it really worked. The kids all got along pretty well, of course there were some disagreements but on the whole it was a good week. I didn't count points at all but I was hiking at least 2.5 miles everyday as well as some rock climbing. I weigh in on Wed. I don;t think I gained but I probably didn't loose either.
I did hide the eggs around the campsite. The kids loved it. They must have thanked me a dozen times.

Pogo & Es,
COngratulations on your fantastic losses :spin: You gals are awesome!! I hate to tell you,POGO,I am a 3rd generation Yankee fan. Although I am really ticked off that they traded Tino Martinez.
He's such a cutie. ESSIE, I have ordered stuff on Ebay without any problems. I have one credit card that I use solely for ordering on-line. That way it is easier for me to track if there has been any monkey business with my account.

Dianne,
I am glad that your mom is responding better. I hope that they can find a strong enough antibiotic.

Zoe,
Way to go on the 5K race. My neice is coming to visit for a week this summer. She is 14 and Ellen is 8. I signed them up for horseback riding camp together. I hope that they get in, it is a lottery process because it is so popular.

Hello My Buds;)

JANIE, welcome back. I would love to go rock climbing & hiking. When my sister lived in PA we went hiking a couple of times. Great workout for the legs. We're Yankee fans too. Pete & my nephew are really die hard fans!!!!!

My brother trained a lady from my church & now she's doing aerobics classes twice a week at the church gym plus personal training. He's upset cause she left him without letting him know. I told him to try not to be upset she wasn't going to stay with him forever. She's charging $5 for 1 hr. class. I'm going to check it out Saturday morning. All in all she should have told him she was going on her own.

Pogo, happy to hear you had fun. If you keep up with the exercise for the rest of the week you'll be alright. Oh, and your water. ;)

Jen, thanks for the happy dance:D You know what's depressing? The same women that were in that particular meeting 4 yrs. ago are still there. Two of them look the same. I feel more in control than I did before. Let's see how long it will last. Glad to hear you spent time with the boys. You & Joe are such fun grandparents. No wonder why they love spending the night. :)

Zoe, WTG with the 5k walk!!! Yes & we do miss you. Hurry back to us.

Hi Es,
I'm just checking in too! I find that just reading thru the messages gets me ready for the day. I didn't fit a walk in yesterday, so that is my Wednesday goal. It will probably be after dinner, but that's a great time. I live near a beach so I can do a 3 mile walk very easily. Sometimes by myself, sometimes with my husband, sometimes with my sister-in-law - it's always a nice walk!

I've been trying to have a salad everyday for lunch. I think I had been slipping into the habit of having pizza - and I'd eat half of a medium size pizza! Or sometimes a sub - meatball or roastbeef. Then I tried the roll-ups - even the turkey ones had tons of meat - I never counted those points. Hmmm...that could have been the problem.

OK, have to get ready for work. Be back later.

HI everyone,
I WI this morning and lost 2 lb. YEAH!!!!! I was sure with all the exercise that I got last week that I probably didn't gain but since I never even bothered to count points (Who counts points when they are on vacation:devil:?) I sure didn't think that I had lost. I am actually wearing size 8 pants today. They are still a little tight around the waist but I am wearing them!!

Pogo,
I am so jealous that you live near the beach. I grew up near the beach on Long Island's South Shore, and really miss those walks by the water. EVen now I get to a point where I tell my husband I need to see the ocean. You can come with me if you want (he usually does) but I need an ocean fix. It seems to help me sort things out when life gets stressful. Unfortunately, now the ocean is about 60 miles away, and always too cold to swim in.

Have a meeting shortly so I will sign off for now.
Happy Wed to everyone,
