Hey Lori - I started this just because I didn't see on yet. Is that okay? I don't want any fit strong mamas kicking my butt! :)

Personal trainer today for 60 minutes of a grueling full body workout. I love her and hate her very much.

Hope everyone has a great, healthy and active week!

 that love hate relationship with exercise gets so complicated when theres another person involved, doesn't it?

60 min elliptical today here

It really does complicate matters Dana!

In addition to the weights I also did 20 minutes hardcore stationary bike.

But my proudest achievement today isn't mine! It's my husband's! My big, sweet, lovable and lazy guy started C25K. I showed it to him, not expecting him to react. He put on his shoes and headed out the door!!! The guy who complains (but complies) every time I ask him to exercise with me. The guy who has never willingly exercised on his own in the 8 years I've known him. Love love love! He explained that he's always wanted to be a runner and that this intrigues him. Cool! I'm so excited for him to join me (willingly) on a fitness adventure.

Hi Gang! FB - starting the thread is fine. I save my butt kicking for other stuff :D

Yesterday I jogged for 2.75 miles! I have signed up for a 5K at the end of July, and I now know that I will make it through without stopping!

I walked the dog--hyper mini-schnauzer--for 2.5 miles this morning. Got a long way to go to get back in shape, though. I was sucking wind after the first mile.

Don't faint...I am posting here. Today and did my usual stretches AND the warm up to Chair Aerobics. I will do the warm up for many days and slowly move on.

FB- Yay for supportive spouses! Big pat on the back for your hubby, that is great for both of you. :)

Tanee, I had to laugh about the kids getting in the way, but any exercise is good exercise, right? And look at you, going on the elliptical afterward. Good for you!

Lori, awesome about the 5k! Good luck training!

Corngranny, every little bit helps- before you know it you'll be craving those walks.. and if not, think of how happy it makes the pooch and helps you get in shape at the same time :)

Beverly and Crazy, keep up the good work!

I skipped the gym today and did Jackie Warner's one-on-one training videos. I got through the upper and lower body ones but only halfway through the core- that woman means business! So 50 minutes strength training for me today.

Thanks :) My youngest is 23 months and she clings on to me when we are in the pool so I can't do like I used to. In high school and the first two years of college I was on the swim team.

Wowzy. I tried the C25K thing because I thought I'd see what it's all about since the hubby liked it his first time and so many of you enjoy it. I'm pretty sure I hate it. My dog LOVED it.

I also walked the dog for 25 minutes afterwards so our exercise would total 45 minutes for the June challenge.

Great work everyone!

Good evening everyone!
I biked to my mom's today. HOT. Not me, the weather. :) Terrible hills too, I loved it.
This evening my family, best friend and her daughter went swimming at my mom's. Lots of mom time today. Active day.

Hey everyone! I did c25k w5d1 yesterday. I am really nervous about the last workout for this week, 20 minute jog, ahhhhhh!!!

I'm sure I am a dumb chick for asking, but...

Could someone tell me what c25k w5d1 means?

Hey djay, not a dumb chick- it looks like some crazy code, eh?
Couch to 5k/c25k is a 9 (?) week training program to train one to run a 5k. It works by starting with small timed intervals of jogging combined with walking, by the end the theory is that you'll be able to run non-stop for 5k.

Since it works by weeks, w5d1 would be week 5, day 1. I believe the program is three days a week.

http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

I tried it myself last night, but didn't enjoy it much as I cannot grasp the concept of jogging. I tend to do a full out run/sprint and suck at pacing myself. Everyone who knows me finds this hilarious and typical of me. I'm going to try it again... slower.

I am doing the jogging intervals at a very slow pace so I won't over do it. I have very weak ankles. I honestly can't hardly walk without falling, my ankles just roll over. Everyone thinks its funny cause I always fall at inconvient times (in front of large crowds, etc) I am thinking/hoping this C25K will help strengthen them.

I did W5D2 tonight. I think I may try the 20 minute jog outside this weekend. We are going to the in-laws and I will need to get away, lol!!!

Well...I found new back stretches....they feel SO good. I did ten minutes on my chair aerobics. My usual MO is to do the whole thing...but, I know I must start slow. I am a 'turtle', in that respect - when it comes to exercise.

Hi Gang!

Have you all signed up for the 3FC virtual 5K next weekend? You can do the 5K however you want: walking, biking, dancing, swimming. I'll post the link to the sign up page later.

Yesterday I jogged 2.5 miles!

Hey all, I gotta get back into the habit of excersizing. I find myself wanting to excersize, even when I can't. Tonight, I did 30 minutes on the treadmill, and it ended up being 1.7 miles. I can jog on and off, I think 6 minutes has been about my limit. Then I did some weights.
