Isn't it funny how "excuse making" loses its power over you when you are really determined? I am a master procrastinator and excuse maker. I have put off the issue of weight loss for so long with excuses, and have also found reasons to fall "off the wagon" so many times in the past. But this time, I am really determined to lose the extra weight.
So yesterday, I was low on food supplies. I don't drive and my husband was too busy with his work schedule to take me to the market in the morning. I knew we didn't have anything fresh in the house. But I was determined to stay on plan. I just asked myself what I could do to stay satisfied all day. So I raided the cupboard and dug deep in to the freezer. I managed to eat pretty well yesterday, aside from dinner. Dinner was a little dismal: half my plate was canned black beans with some fat free cheddar on top, and the other half was broccoli. But it satisfied me and I was able to get a good night sleep without feeling hungry.
My husband stopped at the supermarket late last night. Now today, I am back to cooking yummy core meals. And I am feeling happy about staying on plan yesterday despite the challenges I experienced. No excuses! I'm going all the way this time!
Helpful habits used yesterday: Learn from experience; prepare yourself; ask for help; manage your thoughts
Tools for living: winning outcome (keeping my goal in mind); empowering beliefs (I can stay on plan); positive self-talking; asserting
